Stunning views reach across the Sound of Mull towards Tobermory on the Isle of Mull and out to sea toward Ardnamurchan Point.

The Thatch

This Grade A listed cottage is one of the oldest on Tiree, built in the late 1700's and is one of the few remaining thatched houses left on Tiree. A unique place to stay, traditional but with all modern comforts you would expect in a high end rental property. The kitchen and living space are surprisingly large and spacious. Travertine tiled worktop with the usual amenities, including a washing machine. There is a lit glass hatch to appreciate the thatched roof structure from below!

We’ve ditched the mod cons with no TV & wifi, replacing them with good old fashioned boardgames, a great stack of books and selection of old & new vinyl for the turntable.

Bearnus Bothy has been lovingly renovated using our principle of ecological design to repair, repurpose and use what has been washed-up by the sea. It is one of the last old residences outside of the main dwellings around the Main House on Ulva. As such there are no neighbours until you reach the tiny community on Gometra - where we live - another three miles down the track.
