Really handy place to stay. Easily walkable to city centre. It’s a busy street, with a few shops and businesses, but in a residential area so was quieter at night. We slept really well even with some traffic noise. Parking is on the roadside which has a lot of residents-only spaces, but we found a spot just around the corner

Anja was so friendly and great with communication, the room was clean and beautifully decorated. She allowed us to order in food and although we didn't have time to stop for a drink in the bar it looked super welcoming! The only problem we had was to find parking for our van, but got there in the end so wasn't too much trouble!

Gorgeous setting, really lovely staff. Room differed slightly from the photos- it showed a roll top bath which we didn't have but it was still lovely and very clean. The room didn't seem to have a hair dryer so had to borrow one from reception but overall a lovely stay and a very nice meal in the restaurant.

A lovely room in a friendly and welcoming village pub. Check in was easy and I felt at home straight away. The surrounding area is really nice with plenty to explore.

We had a wonderful stay in Bath at Rupert's place. The accommodation is clean, well-equipped, and peaceful, located slightly outside the bustling city center. A lovely short walk up to the place and down back to the center. The people we met, both at the property and the pub downstairs, were friendly and welcoming. We will definitely recommend to friends and family who will come to Bath.

I have visited the pub a couple of times before but this is the first time I have stayed at Alma Tavern. I stayed in Room 1 which was clean, warm and quiet. All the bar staff were friendly and gave clear instructions on how to check in (both while the pub was open and closed) and where to leave the key on check out. The communal breakfast area is a nice touch and it was nice to have cold milk and a bottle of cold water. Although the windows overlook a road, I found it quiet and no problem at all. One other guest commented on it being a good idea to look past the initial staircase to the rooms and I agree, I guess it could do with a lick of paint but the room itself and the location of the pub mean I will be looking to book again soon. Just in case it is of interest, parking on Alma Vale Road is free from 5pm to 9am and then you can park for 3 hours using RingGo or just pay at the machine. I arrived at 4, paid for one hour, then just set RingGo to cover the car from 9 to midday.

The room is very pleasant and comfortable with that view! We know the town well and plenty of restaurants around to walk to as it is room only (kettle and fridge in room with tea/coffee/water). Good telly and bathroom large and clean (though could do with a shaving mirror) Thank you to Chelsea who responded to all enquiries promptly including I asked for a change of towel as we were there a few days, which was not a problem. We would def stay again.

what a fantastic place to stay, great location and quiet. strongly recommend this place, spotless, very spacious and comfortable.👍

Pleasant overall, if I needed a base in Newport again I’d happily stay here
