In the heart of the Sandhills, quaint 2 bedroom home is located in Ainsworth, 10 miles from Long Pine, NE. Wood floors throughout, comfortable leather furniture, king bed in master, 2 twin beds in 2nd bedroom, wifi, 55” LED TV, full size washer/dryer, stove, microwave, kitchen table w/ 6 chairs, tub/shower, full size fridge, propane grill, lawn chairs. Shampoo, soap, coffee provided. Additional twin bed available on porch (spring / summer / fall - AC on porch. Not ideal during cold weather).

This was once a one room grade school that has been converted into a cozy cabin for your enjoyment. No tv, no Wi-Fi, cell service is available. The school house cabin is located next to the Plum Creek Wildlife Management Area and 22 miles from the Niobrara River and 13 miles from Ainsworth, NE.

The area's main attraction Calamus Reservoir is a short 7 mile drive, offering fun for the entire family.

Enjoy a relaxing stay with family and friends at the Wagner Cabins, a family-owned small working ranch in the secluded Calamus, Nebraska area. Our cabins are nestled along the North Loup River and just minutes from the Calamus Reservoir. A large pond with excellent fishing is just a stone’s throw from the cabin porches. We are a mere ten minutes from the Calamus River and Calamus Lake (west end) which offers tanking, tubing, boating, and fishing. This is a birders paradise! Bald eagles, prairie chickens, and a plethora of other species to observe will be waiting out your window. Star-gazers will find our night skies free of light pollution. Nature awaits!

Must provide a photo ID of proof of age.

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located retreat. We are walking distance to a small town grocery store, places to eat, and a little shopping. Minutes from the quiet Cowboy Trail where you can bike or walk. Kayaking and canoeing down the Niobrara is near Valentines, NE. It is on hwy 20, west of Bassett.
