Our family visited Cape Breton Highland National Park, and Darrell and Jocelyn’s family chalet in Capstick was the perfect base. The view from the deck was incredible, from sunrise over the ocean to catching shooting stars at night. The location is private and peaceful - not another house in sight, just ocean, mountain and trees. The chalet itself felt like home with comfy bed, well appointed kitchen, and clean bathroom. Our family enjoyed watching porpoises play in the ocean with binoculars right from the house. We got grocery from Cheticamp before coming to the chalet and enjoyed hiking and hanging out at the beach at Meat cove. What a gem - we hope to be back soon.

Great long weekend in Margaree. The space is very comfortable and we made all our meals in the well-appointed kitchen. Thank you for sharing with us!

Get some real R&R at this hidden gem, Port Hood Island’s only AirBnB. Arrive by boat which was a great adventure to kick off the trip. Hop around the trails and beaches in the golf cart which also handles luggage and supplies. The house is well-stocked with a thousand pieces of decor to remind you of the island’s fishing history. The charm of a well-built, well-loved Cape Breton home with some original doors, cabinets along with some modern upgrades. Dishes, housewares, appliances and furniture were more than enough for a small crowd. Lots of sofas to gather round, one table for games, another for dining and a third patio table on the deck with the most peaceful view. The only screen you’ll need is sunscreen (but Starlink is onsite for rainy days). The beds and linens were comfy, the bedrooms were spacious. New windows and an open concept made the space bright with spectacular views from all sides. You’ll never find a better host. Agnes was caring, helpful and felt like family.

This is an absolute gem. We watched the sun set over the water every night. Our toddler was safe and entertained in the big yard and beach. We want to return next year!

Our stay at the Eagle House in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, was truly memorable. The property offers stunning lake views, and the serene surroundings made for a perfect getaway. We were captivated by the beauty of the location and can't wait to visit again. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax and reconnect with nature.

We stayed here for a mini family reunion and found the home to be a fantastic place that accommodated 3 small families plus grandparents. Our kids had a fantastic disco party in the games/bar area complete with disco ball and lights. The kitchen had everything we needed; the living room was relaxing; the bathrooms had great water pressure and the kiddos loved the giant bathtub. The view was unbeatable, we would recommend this place to anyone.

What a beautiful place! We loved the cottage and its location was wonderful for our exploration of this part of Cape Breton. It was only about 40 minutes to Baddeck and 1:45 to Fortress Louisbourg. It was well equipped and spacious - perfect for the four of us. The loft was great for my 18 year old nephew who was up later than the rest and the other two bedrooms are at opposite sides of cottage - great for sleeping! Unfortunately, it was grey and rainy for most of our stay so we did not get to enjoy the patio much at all. It must be wonderful in the sunny weather, though! The screened in area was great (we did get an hour without rain one evening). There was lots of room for us inside to hang out during the rainy days and the big windows with the view of the lake made being inside not so bad! The property feels very private. Even though there is a trailer park nearby, we were completely unaware of it when at the cottage. Not much close by but be sure to eat at Charlene’s!

Terra Nova was the perfect retreat for 3 generations - me, my daughter and granddaughter. We found lots to do from walking the beach to exploring nearby attractions and just enjoying the gorgeous surroundings. Eleanor provided so many special touches. We immediately felt welcome. She was available for anything we needed or wanted to know. The Easter bunny even left some unexpected treats. It was very hard to leave. Such an idyllic Easter weekend.

Staff at Cabot Shores, and especially Paul were efficiently and immediately responsive to our needs. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated getting to chat with Paul and learning about the development of this unique facility. We appreciated Paul’s commitment to protecting the environment through recycling, solar use and by growing vegetables and raising egg laying hens. Perhaps renters with pets should be given a heads up that the cabins have ant traps. The outside air was pleasant so keeping the windows open was great, but screens on all the windows would be helpful in keeping the mosquitoes out.

Cabot shores was an amazing family trip. The beach and the views are incredible. The live music was so much fun. Would recommend to anyone

Chris's home is truly a slice of heaven! we spent a week in this beautiful chalet on a private beach. We use Airbnb a lot and this house and location was one of our favorite. SO peaceful and relaxing,SO comfortable and beautiful, really felt like home away from home for our large family. Right off the Cabot trail, we were able to take day trips around Cape Breton Island and enjoy everything the area had to offer. Chris was super helpful and communication was quick and easy. HIGHLY recommend this Airbnb!

Great location near Cape Breton. Very cozy and clean chalet. Perfect for a family getaway and the staff are very helpful with local tips and recommended hikes.

Cozy and clean! Wifi isn’t great, neither is service but it was great to disconnect and enjoy the beautiful area! Definitely will stay again next time we hit the cabot trail!
