Spacious newly renovated cottage located in peaceful Mayo countryside, close to popular fishing lakes, 30 mins from Ireland West Airport, 15 mins from Castlebar, 25 mins from Ballina and 5 mins from the Green Way located at Tourlough House and Country Life Museum. Pontoon freshwater beach is 10 mins drive, Ennischrone, Killalla and Westport are 30 mins away and boast fabulous beaches. The house sleeps 8 people and is newly renovated. Cottage is 100 yards from mile-long sandy beach and Minaun Cliffs - among highest in Europe. The Toolis family have lived here for over 400 years. The deserted Dookinella stone village still stands in the field nextdoor. Keel village is a 5-minute drive with restaurants, local butcher selling Achill lamb and fisherman selling from boat. Surf school for all ages. Fabulous walks begin right at the door from easy to mountain hikes. Good for couples and families. Good WiFi. Wheelchair accessible.

Cosy Cottage

Kick back and relax in this calm, cosy space in the rolling countryside and just a 40 minute drive from Knock Airport. For something more lively there’s Westport and Castlebar, with their shops, bars and the beautiful coastline and beaches of the Wild Atlantic Way. The 2 friendly cats, Muffin and Bruce, prefer to live outside but like to say hello. When not away working, I stay in a chalet on a separate piece of land close by but not overlooking the cottage. I do respect guest privacy.

Cuckoo Wood Hexagon, 5km from Westport

This cabin has a hexagon shape with a square porch where the front door is. The Hexagon, as I call it, is situated on its own on land that is half orchard half woodland. On the morning sun side, where the door is, the decking leads to the little purpose built bathroom building. There is a perspex canopy so you can walk over staying dry even if it is raining. A few goats and a few hens roam in the adjoining field.
