Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Make your trip to Edinburgh truly memorable with a stay at Craigiehall Temple. Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, its Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. Entry to the property involves a set of stairs, and there are internal stairs connecting the two levels. The toilet and bathroom are located on the first level, while the bedroom is on the upper level. While many guests find the layout comfortable, it may not be ideal for those with limited mobility.

This tranquil gate lodge stands at the entrance of Ashiestiel House and is surrounded by the outstanding scenery which inspired the writings of Sir Walter Scott. Famed for its scenic landscapes and sporting pursuits, East Lodge sits in a glorious position above the River Tweed bounded by forest trails and walking routes. In fact, so alluring is the countryside around this area, it inspired some of the great literary works of Sir Walter Scott who lived at Ashiestiel between 1804 and 1812.

Peebles is 10 minutes walk away, with a host of shops and restaurants, as well as a museum and award winning chocolatier.

Ord’s Loft - Old Town Historic Apartment

Ord’s Loft, situated in White Horse Close, is one of the most desirable and unique properties in Edinburgh’s old town. Positioned on the top floor of what was once the White Horse Coaching Inn, built by Laurence Ord in 1624, the loft is entered by the iconic steps seen in so many photos of Edinburgh. The outlook south over the courtyard is Holyrood Palace, Arthurs Seat, the Scottish Parliament and the Old Town while to the rear it looks up to Regent Road and Calton Hill.

The water tower is a bespoke home in an historic building sensitively converted by its architect owner. The tower is located in the historic town of Dalkeith and the settlement of Eskbank. 20 minutes by car from Edinburgh airport. A bus service into Edinburgh stops every 10- 15 minutes, the bus stop is a 2 minute walk away. 25 minutes by rail to the Scottish Borders or to the centre of Edinburgh from the local Eskbank Train Station, a 20 minute walk from the tower.

Characterful self-contained accommodation offering two bedrooms and two shower rooms in a pretty 17th century cottage. Master bedroom featuring a superking zip-link double bed (can also be a twin) and en-suite shower room. Second bedroom with a king size double bed and private shower room. You will also have your own comfortable lounge with wood burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer and laundry facilities.
