Secret Science Camp on the Alamosa RiverScience Camp, founded midcentury on the Alamosa River, is a secret wonder in the South San Juans. Buried in national forest at an elevation of 8600ft, we are off-grid and off the map. We are pack-in, pack-out. Bring your own bedding, towels & flashlights. There's no electricity. Heating is a wood fireplace. We provide hot water, grill, propane & firewood. No ATVs allowed. Your cabin, Ash, was built in 1956. Rental proceeds go to historical renovation of site. Camels and a YurtLocated in the San Luis Valley just south of the little town of Capulin & nestled at the start of Trujillo Canyon you will find our cozy little yurt. Our 35 acres is home to our small herd of dairy Camels & sweet donkeys, has old homestead buildings, a beautiful creek, and amazing views! Stay in our hard-sided yurt, meet the camels and get a farm tour! Please know that we are an operating farm. You will find/see camel poop, barn cats roaming, dogs herding, and farmers working :-)
