We are in the tranquil Western Lake District National Park close to the Coast to Coast bike route and with plenty of walking right from the door. Your comfortable ensuite bedroom and own breakfast / sitting room is upstairs so has gorgeous views across to woods and fells. The bedroom can be set up as two singles or one kingsize bed. We can provide a delicious basket of local and home-made food for a help-yourself- breakfast for £5 per person. There is parking and a garage for storing bikes.

Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

It has a dog friendly beach, is great for fishing, has lots of wildlife and has the most stunning sunsets. In winter, enjoy cosy evenings with the fire lit. An ideal base for exploring the Western Lake District and Cumbrian Coast. It is surrounded by scenic walks and activities. It is close to St Bees coast to coast walk too. It is in a rural setting about 4 miles outside the market town of Cockermouth but is actually located in the Lake District National Park with stunning views over the fells, Binsey, Skiddaw, Bassenthwaite Lake and Keswick. The lodge has been designed to make the most of those idyllic views and is a retreat for anyone wanting to relax, unwind and enjoy our “world Heritage” status.

Welcome to Highside a delightful cottage set in a secluded location overlooking the tranquil village of Lorton. Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

The Vale of Lorton is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of the Lakes, ranging from the flat farmland and Gem town of Cockermouth at one end to the rugged mountains and Buttermere at the other. The tranquil setting of The Spinney, above the River Cocker, with spectacular views over to Whinlatter, is an ideal location to explore the North Western Lakes. Set in two acres of mature trees, gardens and river frontage, with lots of wildlife.

Toddell Barn

Toddell Barn forms part of our traditional Lakeland longhouse farm, built in approximately 1710. Toddell Barn sits within approximately 7 acres of agricultural land that helps attract a wide variety of wildlife. Toddell Barn is located in the hamlet of Brandlingill (2 miles south of Cockermouth) and is within the northern boundary of The Lake District National Park, categorised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017.

Spectacularly situated in the beautiful Buttermere valley, Wood House Cottage offers sole use of the cottage for your group. The lake is a one minute walk away, where there is a delightful pebble beach and a breathtaking view.
