A Truly Wonderful Stay at Cowrie Chalet – Highly Recommended! I recently had the pleasure of staying at Cowrie Chalet, and it was an experience to remember! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality, and the peaceful ambiance made me feel at home instantly. We really enjoyed our stay in the lodge and wished we’d booked for longer! Especially loved lounging on the net taking in the surroundings! Also, enjoyed a walk down to the dams and took the little pull along boat out for a fish before heading back to the chalet for a lovely massage out on the deck. We then spent the rest of the evening in the hot tub and braaiing in our own little private area! Fab stay topped off with a lovely walk on maitland beach in the morning - highly recommend and will defo be back! The chalet was really cosy and spotless with everything needed to enjoy our stay.

Stayed here with my dog en route from Joburg to Cape Town. The spot was perfect for what we needed - big airy rooms with stone floor etc (very pet friendly), space for us to relax outside and walk around, comfy bed etc. Signal was spotty and there is no wifi/tv etc., but the farm/Karoo vibe didn't make me miss that at all. Not much close by so either bring stuff to braai, or pick up some takeaways before you get there. There is some lovely stuff at the padstal, but it's not really easy dinner food apart from pies etc., so its great for biltong, jams, koeksisters etc., but keep this in mind for dinner. I will 100% stay here again, as its great value, clean, airy and big rooms, and was a nice break from the rush.

Annetjie was amazing and the accommodation was clean, neat and had everything you would ever need. It’s a great place for a family to stay, peaceful, quiet and a great view of the river. When I’m back next year, I’m coming back. #Breakfastwasthebest

Absolute dream place - jacuzzi , ordered fab homemade lasagna cookin the air fryer - Byo wine and spirts as no bar - not so easy to find goggle sent us a wild Detour - make sure prepare your route in advance ( we didn’t) . No TV ( which was great ) - she does a top rated safari but recommended us elsewhere as we could only a half day safari ( early morning 5am ! ) saw ever single animal known to Africa !! What a gem! We really enjoyed our stay here. Our German Shepard also joined us. It’s a cute little house in the forest. Peaceful. It is off the grid so there is solar. There is an enclosed yard around the house for your pets. The owners dog, Jupiter, comes to visit every now and then. There is also a horse on the farm. It is in between Knysna and Plett so with a short 20 minute drive you can visit either of the 2 places.

clean, convenient and a very comfortable stay. lovely outside seating area. would definitely return, just think a bar of soap would be useful for the shower, and a small bottle of water in the fridge on arrival as tap water is not drinkable.
