Sunshine or drizzle I was on the balcony with my coffee each morning listening to and watching the fishermen stretched along the river below us. It is certainly hard to resist the great smells of the pub style restaurant on the first floor and we visited several times.

I can't remember how many times I've stayed with John and Caroline. Six? Seven? Eight? Alway wonderful. Hospitality, charm, and beauty. In elegant comfort. But this time even the weather was absolutely perfect. Balmy. Sunny. Late autumn color. But why read this review? Just look at the photos. I rest my case.

This is a wonderful property. It matched the needs of our group perfectly (large multi-generational family in town for a wedding.) Highly recommend.

We were there for a basketball tournament at Impact sports complex. Location was great, 8 minute away. Place was perfect for my husband and daughter.

Our group absolutely loved staying here! The location can’t be beat and the openness of the space was perfect for our group. The 26 steps up to the loft gave us a good welcomed workout each time we came in. We had everything we needed for our stay and would absolutely stay again.

My mom and I needed a place to stay close to the Skidmore campus for parents weekend. The place was perfect for us. It was close to campus and really easy to get into town to soak in all of Saratoga. The apartment was even more beautiful in person, clean, bright, and with every amenity you could imagine. There were snacks – even Ben & Jerry’s mini sundaes in the freezer! My daughter loved those! Sheri called me the night we checked in and we met her the next day. She was warm and friendly, and had lots of suggestions for us. It was a really comfortable space to rest, hang out, and make meals if we didn’t feel like going out to eat. It was a perfect place to stay, and we will definitely be back!

Gloria is a wonderful host, very responsive, and accommodating. After we arrived we requested if an iron could be provided and Gloria went out, bought and delivered a new one the next day. The location of the property is perfect in having many great restaurants right next door. There is on-site free laundry machines in the basement. There is parking behind the house which is very convenient but it can get a bit crowded when all of the apartments in the house are rented at the same time. Also at one point we heard an animal between the walls scratching and running around. The apartment is very spacious and clean, but could use some minor maintenance (window, sink, etc.) Overall a wonderful place in a great location from a terrific host. Highly recommend!!!

Great location, great character being an old firehouse, very comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. Bar downstairs, coffee shops around the corner, and great hospitality. I highly recommend this rental if you are traveling to Syracuse.

This is a perfect place for anyone wanting to cruise the miles of NY Bikeway. I had a conference at Union College in Schenectady, and behold, the Bikeway basically runs from Manny's apartment to Union's conference hall! Two (OK, hilly) streets and you're on the path. The Niskayuna section is gorgeous and there's even a tiny forest as you approach Schenectady! As others have said, the space is new and elegant and has everything: gas fireplace, laundry, deluxe bath, etc. and will correct any unpleasant ideas you may have about "basement apartments." It's in a quiet but not very pretty area, so you don't miss having window views of the neighborhood. I am badly allergic to scented laundry products and REALLY hope Manny will stop using them before I come back next year. However, he went above and beyond 'de-toxing' for me: stripped all of the linens and got them out of the house, had the climate system running on filtered fan -- an amazing job!

Jim & Sara's loft was lovely - exactly as pictured and described. I immediately felt relaxed and was impressed by the homelike feel of the decor. It also felt very spacious. There were several nice welcoming touches, like extra soft blankets, which I immediately put to use. I was in town for a wedding at Lake Cayuga, which made this location extra convenient for going back and forth for all of the festivities. I was traveling with my small dog, who also made himself right at home. There were plenty of grassy areas outside of the loft for my dog, and I felt safe walking him around the area. They were so kind to locate and mail my dog's favorite ball, which we accidentally left behind. My dog was so excited to be reunited with his favorite toy, so they are my heroes for helping us get it back. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend their loft. I hope I can find a reason to return. Thanks again for the hospitality, Jim & Sara!

I stayed at the apartment for 2 weeks and really enjoyed my stay. Everything is well organized, clean, and comfortable. Needless to say, Stephen was very kind and responses very quickly. If I stay at the center of Syracuse again, I will stay here.

This apartment is beautiful and in the best location, located above several restaurants. I highly recommend getting a sandwich from Nora’s or a panini from Port City. The drinks at Southern Fare and the Rooftop are creative and delicious. Parking is really easy and we always had a spot by the door. Instructions for check in and check out were very clear and minimal. Will definitely stay again!
