  • We only had a short time to stay at Lance's house, but it was awesome. The house is beautiful & easy to find. Coordinating with Lance and the meet up was smooth. We will definitely be back! And oh, the VIEW IS AMAZING!

  • We arrived and Lance was accomodating. The property was absolutely amazing. Beautiful

    Chad2015-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly unique. The views are unparalleled. Bucky the cat will greet you every morning and Lance genuinely wants you to feel at home. The house is only a short ride to the city and we never had trouble getting an uber. Lance is very knowledgeable and more than happy to offer suggestions on entertainment. Everything considered this is a one of a kind experience you will not be able to forget.

    Daniel2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the most amazing houses I have ever visited -- an architectural marvel. The view of Portland that greets you when you wake up is breathtaking. Lance is a terrific guy and made sure we had a great stay. A very special place and highly recommended.

  • Surreal place, wonderful host :)

    Shreyaan2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lance has a wonderful house looking out over Portland. The views from the room are splendid, and the room itself was clean and cozy. Bukowski The Cat is always ready to play, if you're so inclined. The parking spot is across the street from the house; it's a 2 hr parking spot during daytime, so that's something to plan/coordinate with the host. 5/5 - would visit again!

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • This was such an amazing place! Jack and Cris were so kind and generous. This was my girlfriend and I's favorite stop in Portland and it was truly magical! Thank you guys!

    Justin2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, cozy, and quiet cottage, great communication. Would like to return soon.

    Vahe2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and unique space in a suburban area a short bus ride to the centre of Portland, but very close to restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed staying in the cottage and highly recommend it.

    Stephen2016-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything I had imagined it to be and much more. The cottage was extremely Cozy, and comfortable. Both Jack and Cris were very welcoming and showed us their home. It was our first time visiting Portland, and truly loved the experience, can't wait to visit again soon. This is a beautiful they have built and I'm sure you will love your stay as much as we did.

    Bobak2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. The little cottage is almost out of a fairytale and is very cute. Their garden is beautiful. They're very close to town and a couple minute walk to food. They neighborhood is fun to walk around and observe the different houses and neighborhoods. They neighborhood is also very friendly!!

    Megan2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cute warm cottage with lush garden. The washroom is in the back part of the house and was very clean. There is also a lounge where one can heat up some water or warm up food. Quiet and relaxing.

    Adela2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • My only warning is that if you have a tiny bladder, be warned that you have to leave the unit and walk to the main home's back door to access a bathroom. As of this review, this path is entirely unlit at night, and I nearly fell over when I missed a step while making a 4 a.m. bladder run. Otherwise, the place is charming and comfortable, and I appreciated the solid French press coffee option in the breakfast/sitting nook (Jack and Cris supplied beans from Coava, a mighty fine PDX roaster). Thanks!!

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • This was our first trip to Portland and Andrée's home was true to the description--a perfectly cozy cabin to relax and to check out the sights and sounds of the city. She was an extremely welcoming and gracious host who gave us insider local info on restaurants and neighborhoods. We would definitely stay there again on our next visit.

    Melissa2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Andrees place was amazing ! Cute and clean and exactly like the pictures. Everything was labelled and clearly set out and check in was a breeze. She was a great host and would stay here again and again.

    Hope2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for 2 nights in Andree's garden studio, and we could not have enjoyed a better experience elsewhere :) Andree is a lovely host. She paid so much attention to the details, and making our stay comfortable. The space is a gem, with accessories and decor that are unique and full of character. We highly recommend anyone that's visiting Portland to check out Andree's place.

  • This well decorated and creative space was the perfect place for me to stay while attending workshops and experiencing Portland. Located near great bars and restaurants, I really appreciated my time here. Thank You.

  • Such a great "tiny home" with so much character in an up and coming part of Portland! Literally less than a minute away from transit spots this location is perfect! Also the host is so sweet and welcoming, we had such a great time!

    Vanessa2016-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Andree was a great host and very friendly. She baked us cookies on the first night (so good!) and the space was a nice cozy get away in the middle of an urban center. The 8-line bus was 2 blocks away and took us downtown in 30 minutes tops, and the space is also nearby the Alberta Arts District, where there is a plethora of tasty restaurants and shops. The kitchen was fully stocked with essentials and spices so cooking a meal or two was easy to execute. Thank you Andree!

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, a queen bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv including HBO, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a queen bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • La casa es muy bonita y limpia. Todo funciona: chimenea, agua caliente, estufa... Todo. El barrio es hermoso. Parece de un cuento. El acceso al centro de la ciudad es fácil y más o menos rápido.

  • This was a beautiful, big studio and perfect for my week in Portland. It was so nice to be in a great neighborhood. And the the bus to work picked up a block away, so my commute was easy. I'd love to stay here again.

    Erynn2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a 4-day getaway in Portland. Close to lots of restaurants and it was nice to be in a neighbourhood that we hadn't stayed in previously. Jason was quick to respond to all of my questions and was friendly in person. There is a bike rack in the back yard if you bring your own bikes. The studio itself is quite spacious, other than the sweet (but tiny) bathroom. We found the bed very comfy! We used the fireplace one of the nights and it was well-equipped with newspaper, lighter logs and firewood. Such a nice feature!

    Erin2015-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming and well-appointed place. Design details have been preserved without losing the conveniences of modern life. The electricity went out, but the fireplace kept me from freezing and the snuggley warm bed made mornings a joy. We stayed in bed till noon at least twice during our week stay. The location is fantastic: a beautiful, quiet neighborhood in walking distance of the bus line to downtown and lots of life on nearby Broadway. The leaded windows provide lots of natural light and perfect viewing for the falling snow.

    Caroline2016-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place to stay, clean, quiet and comfortable in a nice neighborhood.

    Yosh2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time When I arrived the first thing I noticed was how clean the studio was. I had a couple guests come visit and Jason was really nice about it. I met him and he was very generous. I definitely would recommend staying here.

    Nik2016-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a great place to stay! Jason has created a lovely space and was welcoming, kind and helpful. Exploring this charming neighborhood was an added bonus to the trip. I highly recommend staying here.

This quaint totally furnished garden cottage, one bedroom apt. is private with it's own key, private entrance, and courtyard in the downstairs of our historic brick English tutor home in Laurelhurst, a beautiful old Portland community! Read our outstanding reviews!
This quaint 1 bedroom furnished apt. is located downstairs in our historic brick English tutor home. It has a separate key, private entrance, and courtyard. The space is well-lit with two windows and has a back door to a beautiful garden and patio in the backyard as well as a side door to the courtyard. The location is Laurelhurst - one of Portland's oldest and most beautiful planned communities on a quiet, tree lined street within 10 minutes of the city and 15 min. from the airport. Major shopping, wonderful restaurants and one of Portland's most beautiful parks are all within walking distance. This ideal location is only two blocks from a major bus line and 5 blocks from the MAX train. It is also within walking distance of favorite east side shopping and dining areas, including Hawthorne, Belmont and 28th street. When you enter this mid-century decorated apartment you will immediately feel at home! You will find a comfortable queen sized bed, overstuffed chair and desk with the latest mesh technology wireless internet, flat screen TV with cable, Blu-ray CD player, a collection of movies in the bedroom. The newly tiled bathroom has a tub and shower and, although there is not a separate "living room", the kitchen and pantry is fully furnished with everything you may need to make your own meals if you choose (i.e. microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, blender, coffee maker, dishes, pots/pans, spices, condiments, etc.). Other amenities include a private courtyard, washer/dryer in the apt., and easy walking distance to bus, train, restaurants and shopping. More information on our historic home can be found on Oregon Encyclopedia website. Search for "Brick House Beautiful". Our home has also been in "Better Home and Gardens" magazine and has been twice on the cover of "Old House Journal". If we are home when you arrive, we will be happy to give you a tour of our home and offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine while you have complete access to our English gardens, courtyard and barbecue during your stay. We think you will be pleased if you choose to stay in the "Quaint English Garden Apartment " located in our beautiful historic home!
Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • Sue and Bob were lovely hosts. The apartment in their beautiful historic home was cozy and inviting. We were close enough to public transit to travel downtown or walk through the Laurelhurst Park on our way to local restaurants and breweries. Our stay in February was a beautiful sunny weekend, we couldn’t pass up the chance to enjoy the patio in their garden and admire its beauty. We had a great weekend and are thankful our fantastic hosts shared their home with us.

    Caitlin2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I spent 5 nights in the English Cottage and it was amazing. Everything was as advertised and then some. This place was located within walking distance (even though it rained most of the time and we didn't do too much walking) to everything you could ask for: restaurants, nightlife, shopping, the list goes on. We really enjoyed being able to get a tour of the main house from Sue and getting to hear about the history. We will def be staying here again when we are able to make our way back to the PNW!

    Sumie2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's cottage is completely adorable. It's close to Laurelhurst Park, a lovely place to hang out if the weather is affable. Also walking distance to many of the attractions of Burnside and Hawthorn streets of SE Portland. Sue was very responsive and accommodating; we had trouble locating the iron on arrival and they loaned us the one from the house immediately.

    Troy2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our 4-night stay with Sue and Bob. Their home is lovely (thanks for the tour!), and the Laurelhurst neighborhood is charming and ideally located. Sue and Bob go out of their way to ensure that you have everything you need - a well-stocked kitchen and bathroom, comfortable bedding, and a detailed book of instructions and information. Parking is on-street, but no problem. We were consistently able to park right out front. We would absolutely recommend staying here.

    Art2015-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Bob were very helpful.

    Molly2017-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience using Airbnb, and we couldn't have been happier! The garden apartment was exactly as pictured in the photos - adorable, private, romantic, and quiet. We appreciated being able to cook/eat there, and having access to a washer/dryer en suite helped us pack light, even for a trip during pouring November rain. Everything was just right for our getaway. Whenever local friends came by, we insisted on showing them the place. We would eagerly stay there again, maybe during spring or summer when we could enjoy the courtyard.

    Erica2014-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed one night, but this place was great! Bob and Sue were wonderful, and the area was beautiful. Everything about it was awesome, and we will be coming back again.

    Cat2012-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Such a well-appointed and cozy basement apartment! Wish we'd had more time to explore the neighborhood but it was a perfect spot for us while visiting John's daughter. We wish we'd had more time to just curl up with our books on one of our rainy afternoons! Thanks, Sue and Bob, for a lovely stay.

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • Best airbnb stay ever! Some things that stood out: - Beautiful, unique, quiet, and cozy space with natural sunlight - Super comfortable bed - Easy passcode access - Guestbook with past guests' recommendations (super helpful!) - Nearby some amazing cafes and restaurants such as Petite Provence - Safe neighborhood - Easy street parking

    Michael2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel and Brian's place was just as pictured. Bright, open, spacious, and clean. We cook a lot and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable that I had a hard time getting up in the morning! It was also very convenient to have access to a washer and dryer in the unit. The location is also pretty good. There are lots of places within walking distance, but a bit farther to walk to some of the restaurants and such on Division (a little over a mile to Salt and Straw, Pok Pok etc). There's plenty of street parking if you do have a car with you. I would definitely stay here agin the next time I'm in Portland!

    Laurie2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • As others have stated this space is lovely. Brand new, clean and spacious. Felt safe in the neighborhood, parking was easy enough to find. Was enjoyable to have some music in the living space, a very comfortable bed and ability to to a load of wash on my journey. Very enjoyable and would stay here again

    Melissa2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very convenient to main avenue with many restaurants and shops within walking distance. A clean , well equipped home. Nice bedroom in a loft setting with very comfy bed!! No TV but excellent Wi-Fi Highly recommended

    Sheryl2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel & Brian's place is wonderful. Very clean & comfortable! The pictures don't quite do it justice. They are quick to respond and all directions were clear and straightforward. They went above and beyond to make sure us and our baby we're comfortable. The neighbourhood has lots of fun places to eat and the recommendations they provided were great! We would definitely stay here again next time we travel to Portland!

    Amanda2016-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Laurel & Brian's unit. Check in was super easy, the place was perfectly located for us, walkable from a quite a bit, and central and drivable to everything else we wanted or needed to do while in Portland. The unit was clean, comfortable, spacious, and well equipped with lots of nice little details that made it a perfect spot. The bed was super comfy too. :)

    Craig2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel and Brian's place was perfect for our family. Very comfortable, lots of light, space for kids to play outside, and a quiet walkable neighborhood with restaurants and coffee shops.

    Kezia2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • It is a nice place in a nice neighborhood but it is at least a half hour from downtown on public transportation. I am not sure Airbnb is for me. There are more amenities in a hotel and for not too much more money.

  • Great place with super friendly owner, neighbors, and community members. Amazing location. Bus stop was convenient.

  • Lovely place to stay. Recommend completely.

  • First trip to Portland with my boyfriend and first time using Airbnb. It was perfect. I would 100% stay in this Airbnb again. The room and building looked exactly like the photos, and the outdoor deck was so awesome! The bed was insanely comfortable, to the point of rethinking our plans and just staying inside all day. The owner was very nice and helpful our entire stay. Absolutely recommend this rental 100x over. Thanks for the great stay! We will definitely be back soon!

  • Timothy was quick in getting back to me even though I booked the day of arrival. The room was quite nice, clean and large - it helped to have a sink in the room. There was a bit of traffic noise from the street below ~ not a problem for me though. It was great to be able to do laundry on site and run next door to the cafe for breakfast.

    Rob2016-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and comfortable room in a good location. Timothy was very accommodating.

    Palmer2015-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was uber accommodating. The neighborhood hip vibe abs on-point eateries make this location a plus. But to mention, the well-appointed room was spacious and comfortable. Thank you, Tim!

  • Really enjoyed our night in Portland. We had a super short visit but the place was great: spacious, comfy bed, quiet. Plus the Mexican place downstairs was GREAT & the coffee shop on the corner was delicious the next morning. It is a shared bathroom in the hallway, but that didn't bother us a bit. Just good for folks to know. All in all, we'd definitely stay again!

  • When we arrived, my partner and I immediately decided to book an extra day at Scott's place. Great space, value for money and close to the city. Loved Portland, thanks Scott

    Deirdre2016-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful, & perfectly located! Scott was a great host. He helped us find fun things to do in Portland (it was our first time in the city). Do yourself a favor, and stay with Scott!

    Josh2016-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time staying in and air bnb and it was a great experience. The location was very nice, it was in a quite neighborhood with a lot of friendly cats and it was walking distance to the light rail.

    Miranda2018-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great trip thanks to Scott. The space is so beautiful and in the perfect location. Scott gave us some great recommendations that we may not have found on our own. We would definitely stay here again. I couldn't recommend enough.

    Brandy2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place walking distance to Mississippi and Williams. Very close to the MAX light rail too. Scott was a great host, extremely easy to communicate with and very friendly. Would recommend this place highly for exploring NE Portland. Definitely check out Tasty and Sons on Williams for Brunch, it is next-level.

    Pete2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very comfortable stay at Scott's place. The house was very central and close to several great hot spots like Mississippi Street. We would definitely make a trip back and stay with Scott again (& Gus, the dog, too :))) )

    Tara2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Scott's beautiful house and felt so welcome! Scott always replies quickly to questions you might have and is really flexible. The scones, the coffee machine and the small fridge just adds to the great atmosphere Scott manages to create at his house. The Max-line is just outside and takes you into the city. But don't forget to explore the great Mississippi Avenue that is in walking distance from Scott's house.

This listing is a private bedroom in a shared apartment with 3 other individuals. We are considerate, quiet, & conscious of our guests space & privacy. In the heart of Portland's NW 23rd District, our place is nestled close to some of Portland's finest shops & cafes: Salt & Straw, Barista, and Fireside to name a few. The apartment has become a "destination" in itself due to the amazing natural light & Scandinavian interior design - even garnering its own hashtag on Instagram (#theaptupstairs).
"The Apartment Upstairs" is perfect for couples, urban adventurers, and creative travelers. Private bedroom outfitted with luxury Portuguese linen, plush Turkish cotton towels, waffle knit robes & slippers, & alpaca wool throws from our friends over at Parachute Home. All room decor and artwork is done by fellow Portland & Los Angeles creatives.
  • Absolutely LOVED this place. It's truly a gorgeous apartment (check out the (Hidden by Airbnb) hashtag) that's centrally located near all the cool shops on 23rd. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Portland.

    Jason2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at The Apt Upstairs was really refreshing. It was my first AirBnB experience and I really enjoyed it. Everyone was very friendly and it was in a very convenient spot in NW Portland easily walkable to everything I was intending to do. I was even provided a list of recommendations of local food places to try while I was there.

    Sam2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ben's home was very beautiful and welcoming, as were his housemates. We slept on linen bedding from Parachute, which I had always wanted to try and was a great perk. We rarely saw anyone in the house, though our trip was short. Great location to everything, not that difficult to find parking, and quiet at night! However, I was a little surprised to find the front door to the apartment completely unlocked twice.

    Elizabeth2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place in a great location! Benjamin is super helpful. Check #theaptupstairs on Instagram for photo references. Highly recommended!

    Nadine2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best stays I have had on Airbnb! The place was dialed floor to ceiling and the photos only begin to tell the story. I don’t usually pay attention to the bathroom but it was on point! Ben is super cool and knowledgable about the area! Book if you can. The neighborhood has everything you need, seriously everything… on that black. Amazing first few nights in Portland!! Thank you Ben!

    William2016-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Apartment Upstairs is amazing. The location is perfect and you can walk to all the best restaurants and shops from here. This space is also beautifully styled and decorated, it was one of my favorite parts of staying there. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Beautiful house, nice clean room in a great neighbourhood

    Esther2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nicely furnished apartment in a really fun neighborhood. The room is small, but sufficient for two people. Comfortable warm bed, but you probably won't be staying in the room much anyways. We had everything we needed for the stay and Benjamin gave us great recommendations on places to see, eat, and drink. We literally walked all over town from this location.

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Anna & Jeremy's place was amazing! It was our first time in Portland, and the house was easy to find. Street parking was available throughout our stay. Anna sent us a text with instructions for getting in, and we had no issues. The space was clean and cozy, and beautifully decorated. We were so impressed with what they have created. And the shower...wow. Would visit again just for the shower. The kitchen was stocked with coffee, always appreciated! Anna and Jeremy were easy to communicate with, and even left an organized notebook FULL of suggestions, which we loved! Per their recommendation, we visited an awesome brewery within walking distance. There were many restaurants, cafes, etc. in their neighborhood. Only a quick 15-20 minute drive right into the heart of downtown Portland, and about 30 minutes to some incredible hiking at Colombia River Gorge. Of note, we visited during Portland's freak heat wave. Coming from TX, a house without AC is unheard of for us, and we were a little worried. However, with some fans provided by our gracious hosts, the Airbnb was surprisingly cool. And for being below their home, we were never bothered by any noise from upstairs. Anna and Jeremy's place was exactly what we were looking for! This is one of the best Airbnb's I have stayed in.

    Mallory2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a phenomenal studio style apartment with great amenities, fabulous hospitality and is close to tons of eateries in a beautiful historic residential neighborhood. A & J couldn't have been more hospitable and helpful on our stay. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!

    Eric2018-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The space is completely charming and in a great location, with lots to see within walking distance and downtown Portland only a short drive away. Thanks again!

    Joanna2014-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect place to stay for our time in Portland. Only wished we had a few more days to explore the neighborhood. So many great places to eat right on the same street. Studio is exactly as pictured. Loved the huge shower and cozy bed nook. Everything we needed was there. The guidebook and little map were perfect. Thanks again. Anna also went out her way to drop off a jacket we had left at the studio - cannot recommend them enough.

    Amber2015-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Anna was a wonderful host. The apartment is beautiful and in a great location. We would definitely stay again!

    Andrew2016-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Anna and Jeremy's basement studio apartment. The space is amazing! We loved the neighborhood as well. This was only our second time in Portland and Anna gave us many recommendations in her neighborhood as well as on the east side. The arts district is walking distance and our new favorite spot! Thanks Anna & Jeremy! We will be back!

    Davia2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy were probably the best host I've had at an airbnb and for sure have the nicest home anybody can offer, the cleanliness was off the charts, they gave us such incredible hospitality, and gave us suggestions on what to do on our stay. I know for sure if I come back to Portland that Anna and Jeremy's place will be at the top of my list to stay at. Thanks for making my Portland stay an even better experience!

    Jonathan2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Anna & Jeremy’s place is just perfect! It’s quiet and stylish and has a lot of warmth and modern touches to it! We will definitely be back to stay again and highly recommend booking your Portland stay here!

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • Brad and Becca were awesome hosts! Their place was super cool and very clean. I didn't get to spend much time talking to them, but Brad gave me great suggestions on where to eat in the area. Thanks for the awesome experience guys!

  • What a beautiful spot!! This is an awesome location with a unique vibe. We felt truly at home. The teepee is romantic and we managed to stay dry and warm in spite of a night of heavy rain. Chris was great; sadly we only met Karen briefly but all in all it was a great experience!

    Jacob2014-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We never crossed paths with the hosts, but the kitten made us feel more than welcome. All-in-all, a great first airbnb experience.

    Barry2014-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • They said Hello and told me this was my area, ( pointing to a Living room). Also said the bathroom and bedroom were on the same level. They were about to eat dinner when I arrived, so not much interaction.

    Susan2015-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived later than expected, but Brad still greeted us. Nice room, directly beside bathroom. Really unique hand-made guide in the living room. Awesome pets. Short walk to a bus stop which serves downtown, Greyhound and Amtrak stations. Enjoyable stay in a unique house.

    Sinead2015-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Brad & Becca made our first air bnb stay more wonderful then we hoped for. They are personable and kind but you definitely have your own space. Speaking of space the interior design these two have going on just astounding. I would highly recommend anyone staying in portland rest there heads here.

  • Becca is wonderful! A very kind and gracious host. I loved her house, the bedroom/bathroom was comfortable and the kitchen/living room beautiful. Becca made us coffee in the morning and let us puppy-sit her lovely lab. Wonderful memories and the house was close to everything we wanted to do in Portland.

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D
  • We really enjoyed our stay at South Tabor Cottage. It was close to everything and parking was always a available right in front of house. Lisa's homemade breakfasts were so yummy and filling too. We'd definitely stay here again if we come back to Portland! Oh, and the bed was very comfortable and cozy.

    Lindsay2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying in Lisa's backyard cottage. The space is small but very cozy and great for a couple or single person. Also, it was really nice for us to be able to bring our two small dogs on our weekend getaway to Portland. And though the cottage allows pets, it was spotless and everything looked pretty much brand new. The kitchen only has the basics in terms of utensils and spices so it might be hard to cook a lot of meals but it might be more well-stocked during the busier seasons. The location is ideal for those with a car, especially if you want to get downtown though there are a lot of amazing restaurants and shops very close by. Overall, I highly recommend the rental.

    Hanna2013-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful cotton and clean as well. Lisa was quick to answer any questions/concerns I had. Great experience. Will definitely come back.

    Vanessa2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place! Comfy and good location. Would definitely stay here again!

    Susie K2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay was so terrific I may never stay in a conventional hotel again. Lisa was absolutely wonderful and the cottage was the perfect location and had more than everything we needed. Breakfast was terrific! As I mentioned before - with all the solid restaurant offerings that Portland brings to the table, Lisa's breakfast easily met the standard. Thanks again!

    Leigh-Anne2013-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you are planning to stay in Portland … You have to stay with Lisa!! It is the coziest cottage! Lisa was a great host! She gave us our privacy and if you need her she is just a few steps away in the Big house. The location for the cottage is PERFECT and the breakfast is out of this world… I highly recommend staying with Lisa:)

    Lauren2014-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was a great host and the cottage met all of our needs. We had just arrived after a long trip and Lisa had us all all loosening up and laughing before we even got inside the cottage. We were very happy to make it our home while we waited to move in to our place the next morning. Great location and fantastic host!

    Thomas2015-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay in the South Tabor Cottage and every bit as nice as the first. This time I shared the space with my daughter and it worked just fine for us. The space is light and airy, the bed super comfortable and everything clean and bright. Lisa is a friendly and cheerful host and the delivery of a most delicious home cooked breakfast each day was an amazing and welcoming addition to this stay!

Nestled in the private backyard of our family home, a neighborhood hub. The round, rustic, romantic MudHut hides in a secret garden overlooking the St. Johns bridge and sparkling river, near Cathedral Park, Forest Park, downtown St. Johns, canoe and hiking trails... Firepit, permaculture gardens, loaner bikes, community life, view!
Our hut was handbuilt by family, friends, and community with great love and serves as a guesthouse, homeschool hut, sauna and sanctuary. Wood-heated and candle-lit, it's a tranquil, rustic sleeping space. I recommend staying two nights for an immersive experience in the relaxing atmosphere.
We're in St. Johns, Portland's northern-most neighborhood and a small town of its own with a strong community identity here. Many families here trace their roots back to James John, the pioneer founder of St. Johns who is memorialized all over the neighborhood. Downtown St. Johns is a few blocks away, with plenty of restaurants (Thai, vegan, soulfood, chinese, pub grub, pizza, deli, breakfast, coffee & gelato), an old movie theater and shopping (lots of vintage). Cathedral Park, three blocks away, is gorgeous and photogenic with access to the Willamette River and the awesome overhead presence of the gothic St. Johns Bridge that you can see from the hut. We're also close to a lot of natural areas for urban hiking and paddling. Forest Park, full of trails and old growth forest, is right across the bridge. Just north of here is Kelley Point Park, the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers; Smith and Bybee Lakes, a wetlands for birding and paddling; and Sauvie Island, with beaches, farms, nurseries, hiking, fishing, & birding. We're on the Pacific migratory fly-way, so lots of raptor action around here. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks swoop by regularly.
  • Ivy and C were so welcoming! Ivy showed us around their backyard oasis and then we pretty much had the quiet space to ourselves during our stay. However, when we needed help with our flat tire, Ivy and C were very responsive and helpful.

  • The mudhut was very cozy and interesting. we spent one night but easily could have spent more.

    Kate2014-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy was fantastic and the mud hut was a hovel to remember. Spent the evening gazing at the St. John's bridge set against the night sky in a hot tub whaaaat? ∞/∞ stars would stay again any time.

    James2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy made us feel welcomed the second we arrived. She had water, candles, juices and other necessities to make us feel comfortable. Her husband C is great as well. You really feel away from everything being in the back yard and the mud hut... its perfect. I can't really say enough good things. About a 20 dollar uber drive into portland. The area is really nice and peaceful. It was a great stay!

    Jason2015-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and unique! Ivy's backyard garden was wonderful, her kitties were friendly and the mudhut itself was so relaxing and full of rustic charm. Staying in the Mudhut was a delight.

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • This tiny rustic modern house was so perfect. It was close to a lot of great restaurants and pubs and still quiet. The hosts were responsive, friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here!

    Mary2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house is so awesome! It was actually way more spacious than we thought it was going to be and had everything we needed. Fridge and kitchen were great to be able to have some meals in and the neighborhood has great little shops and restaurants. There's a little private front patio with chairs and a table perfect for mild nights. The street was incredibly quiet and there was plenty of parking. Michael and Jenna were very responsive with all of my silly questions being a first time Airbnb-er. 10/10 want to lock myself in and never leave (don't worry I did leave though, so you can rent it now).

    Maeve2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such an adorable place! My husband and I really enjoyed having access to the bikes, the ease of public transportation from the house (including the airport!) and having a kitchen. We didn't need anything during our stay but the host was thoughtful in their prior communication so we felt well taken care of.

    Bri2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay! Beautiful place and great walkable location.

    Jessica2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed in the tiny home for a weekend stay, and that just wasn't enough time to enjoy the home and the surrounding area. The house is centerrally located to many of the FoodTV foodie spots that my husband and I wanted to try out and they were all within walking distance. Michael and Jenna were quick to respond to any question I might have had, even answering my silly question as to the type of woodflooring in their home. The pictures are true to the actual home and our only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

    Natalie2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I had such a great time staying in this awesome little spot! It was private, tidy and unique. Michael and Jenna were wonderful hosts, very quick to respond and made us feel right at home.

    Ryan2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • I LOVED The Tiny House and want to make my own!! The place was great. A perfect space for two, but I could also see it working for four people if you don't mind close quarters. Beautiful personal touches on everything. The neighborhood is great - within walking distance to food and drink, and a 15 minute walk to Mississippi street for a little shopping. We rented bikes and had no problem covering most of the city. The only problem I could see - for older folks, less mobile folks - getting up and down from the loft and the bathroom is a little tight.

    Caroline2013-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny and Michael are the perfect hosts! They were always answering back immediately and give you really nice recommendations where to go in their neighborhood! The Tiny Beauty was perfect for two and it had everything you wished for. We would always stay there again!

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.
  • The tiny house was very comfortable and well located. I was able to walk to a nice grocery store and the Alberta Arts District where there were plenty of eateries and shops. Both were about a half mile out. I was allotted a lot of privacy and met the hosts once. They were nice people and very accommodating when I asked for an early check in. My toddler's nap time was earlier than the check in time. They also were very responsive when I experienced some connectivity issues with the wifi.

    Kim2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best Airbnb we've stayed in yet! Charming, clean, exactly as described. It was in a great location - lots of food choices nearby, and easy to get to all parts of Portland. Also the bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in! Would highly recommend this place, and will stay again if we come back to Portland.

  • My husband and I had such a lovely stay at Duston's & Genevieve's tiny house. The place is adorable and has everything you need for a quick and comfortable stay. The tiny house is only a short walk to a lot of fun bars and restaurants on Alberta St. The couple were very accessible and answered any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again the next time we come to Portland.

    Abigail2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had a wonderful stay in the tiny house!! It was our first time in Portland and easily explored the entire city from the comfort of Genevieve and Dustin's home in Concordia. We loved being able to walk the Alberta Arts district as well as many other east side neighborhoods. Genevieve, Duston and their daughter were wonderful hosts. We both cannot wait to visit Portland again!

    Madeline2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Do yourself a favor and stay at the tiny house! The house itself is absolutely wonderful - clean, bright, and full of thoughtful touches! We especially enjoyed all the Portland reading materials in the house. The neighborhood is absolutely wonderful and walkable and there is plenty of parking if you have a car. Duston and Genevieve were wonderful hosts and were always available to answer any questions. Staying here was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Thank you Duston & Genevieve!

    Tory2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Portland Tiny House is the perfect little home away from home in NE Portland. Tastefully minimal yet stocked with everything you would need for a short stay. Walking distance to some great restaurants, cafes and a local grocery. Coffee, fruit and eggs at hand if you desire. Loved my stay and will try to stay here every time I re-visit Portland!

    Katelyn & Nate2015-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely little place! Small, very cute and had all the amenities I needed to make my stay super comfortable. It was perfect for my relaxation holiday. Central to many interesting places by foot and people in the area are very friendly and helpful. I will miss Portland and this tiny house. Thank you Genevieve & Duston! P.s. Chickens were gorgeous.

    Peter2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Tiny House is in an excellent location, is very well maintained, is exceptionally lovely, and we had a great time. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights during our "mini-moon" celebration, and said "good morning" to the chickens each day. Everything was very comfortable, with the basic amenities readily available, including whole bean coffee, a grinder, and a French Press. It was just like coffee back home! Altogether, our stay was very pleasant and highly recommended to others. Thanks again!

  • Roland was VERY accommodating. I arrived early in the morning and needed to get ready for a meeting. He let me use his study and downstairs bathroom to allow me to get ready, yet not bother the people that hadn't checked out yet. Much appreciated. I was away most of the time, so was never able to meet up with him. However he is very responsive to text/email and seems eager to please! The place is an attic converted to a loft (up a narrow spiral staircase). Plenty of room, clearly cared for. Bed was comfy. As others noted, the skylights let in morning light, but I was fine with that. Only upgrade I'd recommend is a screen partition or the like at the top of the stairs (since there is no door). Not a big deal as it still was very private, but a nice to have. Thanks, recommendedd!

    Tom2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed staying at his place. he was always there to help me anytime i need. He was just like my grandpa. The loft has huge space and you can have the space on your own. Also, I can't stress enough how good its locations is. Division street is just four blocks away and the bus goes there, take you to almost everywhere you want to explore. you will find it convenient to travel to Portland.

    Jayeon2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Roland is an amazing host. He was very kind, generous, and flexible with my somewhat changing schedule. His home is beautiful and full of character, location was awesome, safe, and really beautiful. The room itself is perfect for a solo traveler, and very comfortable. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, Roland! I’d definitely return here upon coming back to Portland.

    Alexandra2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot in a charming neighborhood. Highly recommend.

    Mitchell2017-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a safe, quiet space in a beautiful home. I felt like I had a peaceful nest to myself in the middle of a bustling city. Close to many good restaurants and two bus routes. Host is excellent and kept me informed.

    Beth2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Roland and the other folks who live on the property are all very friendly and helpful. They showed me the pool in the back and where the kitchen was if I wanted to cook. And I was assisted with my suitcase. The loft is very comfortable with lots of skylights, a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, sitting area, table chairs, refrigerator, microwave, coffee grinder and a small coffee pot. Coffee pot took so long I heated a Pyrex measuring cup with water in the microwave to pour over the grounds. There is a private balcony which I enjoyed a lot the first night. This is a really good deal provided by a very nice fellow.

    Patricia2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great, great host. Very accommodating and flexible. Love the pool. Such a cute loft. I love jacuzzi tubs !

  • Cute space with easy access to public transpo, grocery, and restaurants. Extremely helpful host and ample amenities. Thanks, Paul!

    Joann2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Paul and Carolyn's lovely upstairs apartment for a group of four of us and it worked perfectly. Paul was very easy to deal with, unobtrusive but friendly and easy going. Check in was simple. The apartment itself looks great and is set up very comfortably. The neighborhood is a perfect location for people who want to experience a laidback non-touristy side of Portland. Excellent restaurants, bars and coffeeshops are all close by and the place is directly across from a nice little park. All in all a great choice for anyone visiting Portland.

    Alex2013-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Paul is an excellent host. I stayed with him once before, alone, but I wondered how my wife would enjoy the experience. She was very impressed. We stayed for three nights beginning Xmas eve. After we asked, Paul figured out a place open for breakfast for us on Xmas morning, and he even offered to share with us bagels he'd ordered for that morning (from Spielman's, no less). We enjoyed our breakfast out and had Xmas dinner with our kids who live in Portland -- and on our return, Paul had left bagels and cream cheese for us in the room. The room is spacious (tons of comfortable room for two) with a nice bed and well-appointed bathroom. All is immaculately clean. Would definitely return.

    Albert2014-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Paul's Funky Pad Suite. The place was beautiful and the location was great. He was super helpful and patient. I made a lot of mistakes with the reservation but he was always willing to help me fix them. I would totally come back (Website hidden by Airbnb)

    Silvina2015-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little apartment! Paul was very easy to get in touch with regarding our arrival and the unit was so cute! The amenities were incredibly well thought out and everything you could possibly need was available in the unit. The bed was extremely comfortable and we enjoyed the full cable TV and wifi, which is nice to have! Great neighborhood with lots of restaurants and shops nearby, plus easy access to I-84. The park across the street was great for walking our two dogs - so glad we were able to bring both of them with us. Would definitely stay here again - a great value!

    Jennifer2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean, well located Paul makes is an amazing thoughtful host.

    Ivette2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was accurate, Paul's Funky Pad was delightfully decorated and in a great neighborhood with many restaurants available by foot. My only surprise was that I expected a private entrance, and, the entrance was by going through the main house. Paul was very respectful of our privacy.

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Natural cleaning products only.
Built with Love! Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. We are permitted by the city of Portland to host ten guests total at a time at the Magic Barn and The Magic House which are adjacent. If you are a group of more than two, please send us an inquiry to see if we can accommodate your group. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was just an empty crooked shed with no electricity, water or heat and it was filled with trash. Todji purchased the old neglected rental in 2004 when self-employed artists could get a loan. After fifteen years of restoring the main house, while building a career as a sculptor, Todji and Gisele decided to convert the sculpture studio into a "Magic Barn" to host travelers and guests such as yourself! During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from all around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele have taken on the profession of being Airbnb "Artist Inn Keepers" to help support the cultivation of their artistic practices, and to share their creative work with you. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day, please feel free to take a postcard home and visit their sculpture website.
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters- 45th and Division, Classic Great Portland Coffee Trinket- One block away on Lincoln and 39th, great for Brunch with their locally sourced eggs!) (Don’t be intimidated by the line, you order at the counter, and then get a seat and your order will be out in no time) Pok Pok- 32nd and Division, There are literally 11 Thai restaurants in walking distance, but Pok Pok is the best. Began as a food cart, but grew into a Restaurant Empire. Worth the wait. Bollywood Theater- 30th and Division, Indian food small plates. Also along line but worth it! Hiking: The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. For those who want a challenging half day hike you can begin at Multnomah Falls and hike a loop called the Franklin Ridge Loop. • The Magic Barn was exactly as described and located in a fun neighborhood. Parking wasn't an issue at all. I did not met the hosts in person but they were very responsive and helpful via text. I was very comfortable at the "barn" and I got a great night's sleep as well.

  • Magical Barn has to be my favorite airbnb so far. The location, vintage furniture decor, and warmth of this place is perfect. Todji and Gisele were really easy to communicate with and though we didn't meet in person, we felt so welcome in their home. Coming home to the barn and sitting by the fire, listening to music on their nice speakers was exactly what we needed after our travels. My boyfriend and I definitely recommend staying here if you're exploring Portland! We would love to stay here again one day :) thank you so much Todji and Gisele.

    Tamiko2016-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We truly enjoyed this perfect little gem of a place. Absolutely magical. You can tell a lot of thought and care was put into every detail. The location was very central to everywhere we wanted/needed to be for our weekend stay -- lots of food and shopping and parking nearby. We felt safe and super comfortable. Todji and Gisele were very accommodating and welcoming and warm. They're doing the Airbnb thing right! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend!

  • We loved this place! So beautiful and magical.

  • We loved staying at the wonderful Magic Barn. It was perfectly equipped and spotless. The sculpture gallery is a beautiful wake up spot for inspiration, with a cup of tea or coffee. Todji and Tessa were there to answer our questions.

We had no trouble parking in the safe neighborhood, right in front of our accommodations. It was easy to walk to great food venues like the food cart pod on Division and 28th for delicious ramen, tacos, cupcakes and more! Driving and parking in and around the city is very easy. Ed and Sari's place was perfect for our three nights in Portland.

    Mel2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The space is beautiful, with so many little touches to make it comfortable and cozy. And the location is wonderful. I would recommend this for anyone, and hope to return myself some day soon.

  • What a perfect little place in one of Portland’s most stunning neighborhoods! We loved it!!

    Justin2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, true to pictures. Fun neighborhood, walkable to both Division and Hawthorne St bars and restaurants

    Steven2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place, ideally located within walking distance of great restaurants, shops, etc. The space is ideal for 2 people, nice and cozy but with all of the function you would want/need for even a longer term stay. Clean, modern and comfortable. Plus they had really good coffee in the room. Loved it and hope to be back soon!

    Caitlin2015-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ed & Sari's place was fantastic!! The location was perfect, right in between Hawthorne & Division (tons of restaurants and shops along both). And still on a super quiet street. The room itself was very comfortable--clean, cozy bed, great shower. Could not ask for better!

    Vivian2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is in a great spot of town, while remaining secluded from Portland madness. Every part of the process was painless, all the amenities were quite modern, and Ed and Sari are more than a dream to deal with. The only reason to not recommend this place would be that it might be booked on my next trip to Portland! Honestly a great place.

    Eric2017-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Really great experience! It was such a beautiful, comfortable, and clean space!! Very very clean!! Great neighborhood with a really great bar and brunch place close by. Separate entrance and completely private. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Our studio guest house comfortably sleeps two and features a mini kitchen and private bath. Walk through the garden to your private entrance. Curl up by the fire and enjoy one of the art books from our library. Walk to nearby Alberta Arts District.
With two small children at home, we have found little time to paint in the second floor of the studio building at the rear of our property. Come and enjoy this lovely space! It features high ceilings, ample light, a wood stove (with back-up electric heat), views of the surrounding gardens, a large table and a drafting table to spread out and work on, and an art book library. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and electric kettle. It does not have a cook top or oven or toaster. We provide coffee and tea. The bathroom features a shower stall and an eco-toilet that collects water from hand washing to use on the next flush. With summer temperatures rising, we recently added an AC window unit for our guests comfort. We offer a full bed with a seven inch Ikea spring mattress and a two inch memory-foam topper. Our guests report that the room is surprisingly quiet at night. Please note we do not have a TV; however, our wifi is fast enough to watch movies or shows on your personal device.
I love this place. This is a residential neighborhood with a wide cross section of racial and economic diversity, a lot of the old 'hood funkiness still intact, plus newer hipster creativity and some higher-end business activity. Expect to see a mix of dilapidated buildings and newer or rejuvenated construction. We feel safe at night, however I do advise women to be wary about walking alone at night, particularly if you don't have much street smarts. We are within easy walking distance of Alberta Street Co-op, coffee shops, restaurants, bars and other businesses. The post office, laundromat, Safeway and Walgreens are very close by as well.
  • Nell's space was just what was needed for retreat and relaxation. My boyfriend and I had an awesome stay. Thank you so much.

    Anna2014-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nell's spot in Portland was spot on. Really great place to spend the night. Convenient access. Could see myself staying longer to enjoy this cozy artists space. The Alberta St. Neighbourhood is great with lot's of good food.

    Bryce2016-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was super cozy and beautifully decorated, on a cute little residential street close to the Alberta Arts district. They provided really delicious coffee and half and half in the fridge and that was amazing! Nell's family and dogs were lovely and welcoming. Communication was easy and the space was perfect. Thank you!

    Rika2015-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a long drive from Eureka, CA all the way to Portland. What we needed was peace and calm and that's exactly what we got from Nell and her studio. Really nice subtle details in the space like the copper backsplash in the kitchenette, sheepskin rug and the barrister bookcase filled with linens. Also really convenient parking and walking distance from a cool area with boutiques and restaurants.

    Emma2015-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Nell's was fantastic! The artist retreat itself is unique and cosy -- there are lovely skylights and a wood burning stove. Checkin was a breeze and Nell was very responsive. I would definitely stay here again or recommend others to stay. :D

    Tanya2016-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nell's place is dreamy! Like a cabin in the woods only right in the center of the action. Quiet, cozy, so artfully appointed. Love the cute easy-to-use wood stove, all the natural chemical free amenities, and found everything we needed, like a hair dryer, which is a definite need in rainy Portland! Loved leafing through all the astounding art books and daydreaming of one day working in an art studio like that. Very comfy bed, handy mini-fridge and tea situation. Thank you Nell!

    Rochelle2017-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The room is beautiful, the artist has some of her paintings for sale displayed discreetly around the room which I thought was a neat touch. The toilet in the bathroom is unique, if you don't know how to work it, just ask Nell and she'll tell you. Located in an up-and-coming area of Portland, recommended.

    Ariana2017-11-09T00:00:00Z

NEW MURPHY BED with comfy mattress! Great little tiny house in a fantastic neighborhood. It is cozy and modern, with a great layout. It's a tiny, stand alone house with a private bathroom. Short Term Rental Permit Numb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) -HO
Brand new, tiny-home style house. 200 sq ft. Covered porch. Full bath with standing tile shower. Full-size wall bed "Murphy bed" installed December 2015. Bamboo floors & reclaimed wood stairs. No kitchen, but has a microwave for heating up leftovers, water, or popcorn. Wifi. A block away from Amnesia Brewing and Grand Central bakery. 10 minute walk from the Yellow Line MAX (Overlook station.) Mississippi Studios is right down the street- a fantastic venue for local and traveling bands.
  • Practically perfect in every way! We really loved our stay here at the Little Green House. This place is soo friggin cool. We feel inspired to build our own tiny house now. Amazing location, quiet neighborhood, and the house was immaculate. Beautiful design details like glass tiles in the shower and furnishings from local reclaimed materials are what make this place extra special. Rick was very communicative and check-in/out was a breeze. We will definitely be staying here again!

    Rachel2014-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication. The house was clean and very cute, we felt special just for having the chance to stay there! Great location, close to shops and restaurants. Highly recommended.

    Milène2014-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our introduction to Portland brought a smile to our faces. Yes, we are staying at that bright green house. The inside was efficient and pretty nice. This isn't a 'lounge around the room' kind of place, but it is a great hub to get a game plan together for the day. Location is great- walking distance from some cool restaurant and bar spots and less than a 10 minute drive to everything else.

    Nick2015-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was great in responding to our initial inquiry and providing details prior to our arrival. The house was clean and in good order. There was an additional feature we hadn't anticipated: a delightful garden presumably planted since the photos were taken. We had a car and, as Rick had advised us, we had no difficulty in finding street parking. The house is well-situated in an interesting neighbourhood. It was great to explore by foot. Our only concern was the kitchenette had no sink. As a result it was unclear how to wash dishes.

    Harriet2015-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful weekend in the tiny green house! The location was fantastic :) We will definitely stay at the little house again next time we visit Portland!

    Tiffany2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet little house in a very happening neighborhood.

    Marion2013-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first trip to Portland and I would definitely go back. The house was great, a very cool experience and more fun than a hotel. The location couldn't be better, walking distance to Mississippi Ave. which has a great selection of bars/restaurants, and is also a decent bike ride from downtown. I'll be staying in the Little Green House next time I'm in Portland for sure. Thanks Rick!

    Wesley2014-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house experience is a novel one. If you've never tried it, give it a shot! This place is literally right around the corner from the Mississippi street area. Great food, shopping, etc. Easy to get around from this neighborhood too. An uber cost us under $10 to get downtown. The house was clean and Rick was nice enough to let us drop our stuff off early before check-in because of our plans. There's a lot of switches and stuff which can be a bit confusing, but we managed just fine. Parking was always easy and the key-less entry was convenient!

My house is close to light rail and bus lines in a quiet and secure area. Many restaurants, coffee houses and bars are within walking distance and there is a large grocery store nearby in case you need provisions. There are parks within walking distance as is the Adidas campus. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers. There is another bedroom that can sleep two and I have an air mattress available.
Private home with 2 bedrooms in the upstairs of the house. Fully equipped kitchen with a laundry room. The stove is gas so please ask for instructions on how it works before using. The back yard is shady and there is a patio with a fireplace. The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to walk around in.
There are quite a few very good restaurants with in walking distance of the house with a sprinkling of coffee houses and bars. Well lit and quiet there are also a couple of parks with in a few blocks. Also a great grocery store is near by.

Brand spanking new, beautiful, modern addition built on our ranch house.
Our 425 square foot addition is brand new (finished 2015) - immaculately designed, gorgeous and a perfect place to stay during your time in Portland. It has a pellet stove for delightful ambiance (and heating), it's own entrance, a blow-up air mattress (for a third guest) and a patio. Stay in a place completely Portland, powered by solar panels, built environmentally friendly, sitting on a major bike street and a couple blocks from the MAX light rail.
Our house is within 2 miles of the fantastic north and north east neighborhoods of Williams, Mississippi and Alberta. There are dozens of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and I leave a list of our local favorites in the house.
  • Listing is very accurate. Clean and easy to find - all instructions very clear. Perfect location for a stay in Portland. Will stay there again when we visit Portland!!

    Terry2016-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the Addition!! It's super comfy, private and quite! Well worth the price. Joseph is a great host and was quick to respond to any questions that we had during our stay. We would recommend this place to any one!! Just a quick 10 minute uber downtown. Another plus that we loved about this place was that it is very sustainable and environmentally friendly!! :)

If you're a fan of great food, craft beer, pour-over coffee, this is your place. My tiny-home is situated in the famous Buckman District - which neighbors many of Portland's top-rated restaurants and bars, vintage shops, and offers some of the best people-watching around. My place is great for solo-travelers, couples, and business travelers. It's a convenient home base within walking distance to the neighborhood hot spots, you can get an authentic taste of how the hipsters live in Stumptown.
My home is cozy and relaxed, with two sliding glass doors allowing plenty of natural light and a comfy mattresses to lay down on. Those rainy days are perfect for cuddling up and watching movies on Netflix with blazing fast WiFi for other streaming. After spending the day walking, shopping, and eating, you'll love coming home to a super comfy queen-size bed. My apartment has electric cadet heating so you can stay warm in the winter and a portable A/C to keep cool in the summer. It is perfect for business or solo-travelers. Very roomy for 1-person. PLEASE NOTE: * THERE IS NOT A FULL KITCHEN * THE SHOWER IS IN THE KITCHEN/DINING AREA
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance to a wide variety of top-notch local flavors (no chain restaurants here!) Make new friends over some vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, get messy with some wings right around the corner at Fire on the Mountain, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna - all within a 1.5 mile stretch. Portland isn't just for foodies. There’s vibrant indie spirit in Hawthorne, with lots of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore here in hipster heaven. Or, catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park on top of a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
  • Dee's place is in a fantastic location. Close proximity to several hot spots in the NE and a short walk away from transit that can get you anywhere in the city. The place was spotless, with a spacious shower and comfortable bed. I was there solo but it could've easily slept 2-3 more guests. Nothing but good things to say about my experience here

    Zachary2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dee's little outpost was great for my girlfriend and I! We felt like it was a great deal for the location and comfort. The bed was shockingly comfortable and getting to other places by transit/bikeshare was a breeze.

    Kasey2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable little place. Felt very homey. Very private and convenient. It is located within 10-15 minutes of a lot of good food and things to do which was great for us. Check in was easy and Dee always made sure that everything went smoothly. Would definitely recommend!

    Beverly2018-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Dee's Place was easy to find and exactly as described. We had a small issue with tracking down the lock box to enter the BnB but it was quickly resolved. The "tiny house" looks to be a remodeled garage and shop, i.e. it's larger than a typical tiny house! Its really updated and modern, we really enjoyed the quick stay we had. The bed was SO comfortable too! We walked two blocks to grab some dinner then caught an Uber to the Holocene for some music. We ended up walking back after bouncing around, about 1.2 miles. Nice and easy walk! Dee's place is a great value for the location.

  • Convenient and affordable, perfect for our quick trip for a show.

    Sasha2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nice space, plenty of room for two people, possibly three, with one on the sofa. Good location, parking easy and safe. Very quiet area. Nice bath towels, shower head, coffee maker, nearly full-sized refrigerator. Everything you need for a few nights in Portland. Great and fast communication. I recommend a stay here.

    Ken2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dee's place was perfect for our weekend stay in Portland! It was comfortable and has everything you might need. Dee was great- always responded to my messages and accommodated an early check in. The place is in a cute neighborhood, walking distance to several restaurants and bars and only a short Uber ride away from other parts of the city. If you stay here, make sure to check out East Burn, a restaraunt just around the corner, for brunch.. sooo good! Would definitely stay here again.

Whether you just want to chill in front of the wood-burning fireplace, wander the neighborhood, or have a glass of wine in our Adirondack chairs, feel free to relax and make yourself at home. With a full kitchen at your disposal you can make the most out of the local farmer’s markets and excellent grocery stores in the neighborhood too. This space is ideal for business travelers, with wi-fi and a full kitchen. We enjoy meeting all of our guests, but we respect your privacy and space as well. Please feel free to interact with us as much, or as little, as you'd like. We live just a short 10-15 minute drive from Portland International Airport (PDX). We are located about 10-12 minutes from downtown Portland by car. Public transportation is just a few blocks away.
The Concordia neighborhood is unique in its diversity, with long-time residents, young families and college students attending Concordia University. Other great attributes: - Close to downtown, and about 15 minutes from the airport. - Incredible restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, art galleries, music, and street art are a short walk or bike ride away. - One block from public transportation that drops you downtown before you know it! - Close to our favorite grocery store (New Seasons) with organic food, local products, and an excellent source for gifts or mementos of your stay. - Beautiful Woodlawn, Alberta and Fernhill Parks are within 6 -12 blocks away, or head to Forest Park for great hiking in the middle of the city. - Concordia University is two blocks away, and a great place to stop by to watch a baseball or soccer game in their beautiful open stadium, check out their grounds or wander into the library.
  • This space was even cuter than I expected. Very clean. Easy and detailed check-in instructions. Easy parking. Safe neighborhood with lots of quirky places for food and drinks nearby, and Melissa was incredibly hospitable and accessible if needed. Overall, we had a great time staying here and would definitely recommend it.

    Tess2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance and I stayed at Melissa's place for a week. We were looking for a relaxing week away from work, to just relax and enjoy Portland. Melissa's place allowed us to do just that! We made breakfast every morning in the space + she left Stumptown coffee beans for us to use! The space was great - we had our own entrance - it was downstairs from where she lives, so we had our own bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, etc. It was very clean and she left a binder of suggested places along with menus. The heater works very well - as we were there in the dead of winter! The Airbnb is not incredibly close to downtown, but almost everywhere in Portland, you need a car anyway. It's about a 5min drive from Alberta, which is where we spent most of our time. Great food, bar, and scene! Thanks, Melissa for an awesome stay :)

  • This place was everything we could have wanted. The apartment was so cozy, homey, clean and charming. Melissa is the most wonderful host and we had the best time!! The location and amenities were so great as well.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Melissa’s place and found her local tips and knowledge great! The apartment is close to a bus stop which takes about 25 mins to get to downtown however in the evening you are a 15 minute walk to Alberta street which has a great selection of restaurants and shops. Would highly recommend!

  • Lovely apartment, nice location, quick and easy check-in/out.

  • Great location for exploring downtown Portland! Comfortable, close to everything, and the décor was so cute (not a deal maker or breaker but definitely appreciated)! We never met Brad face to face but he responded to any questions we had almost immediately. Check in and check out were easy per his instructions and we would definitely stay here again next time. Very lovely space!

  • While our stay in Portland was short, this studio apartment was perfect. The location is great and the building itself is quite charming. It was very clean and had everything we needed (including a washer and dryer). The bed was comfortable and even though we were near some major streets we had no trouble with street noise - we even slept with the windows open. We had a great stay and would definitely stay there again. Thanks Bradley!

    Lucy2012-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was great and very accommodating! The place was centrally located and clean and sweet! Highly recommended!

    nora 2014-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great for the price! It was definitely one of the more affordable options in this location. It was very convenient to some cute/interesting neighborhoods. Bathroom was clean and modern (not something you get all the time in these older buildings). As some other reviewers have noted, there is a good amount of noise from the other people in the building. The street noise wasn't an issue at all, but the walls are very thin and the person above us was awake and walking around pretty much all night. Brad was very easy to get into contact with and made check-in/check-out easy.

    Talitha2014-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Loved everything about our stay in Portland! The studio offered everything we were looking for! Cute, Convenient, Clean! We were happy to walk to many local restaurants, bars, and shops. Since we were in town for a convention, the close proximity to public transportation was also a plus! Already looking for an excuse to go back! Cheers!

    Susie2015-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing studio: beautiful sunlight coming in and comfortable bathroom and kitchen. Parking worked out perfectly. Moreover, an easy walk to many amazing restaurants and shops. What we liked less is that we couldn't mention Airbnb to neighbours, it made us feel a bit awkward entering and leaving with all our suitcases. Apart from that: great Airbnb, we would stay here again!

Enjoy Portland in our beautiful, modern guest house. You will be located in a quiet neighborhood nestled between the heart of downtown St Johns and the University of Portland.
Hello! We have a 600 sq. ft, bright, modern guest house tucked away behind our main house. During your stay you will have access to a fully stocked kitchen including: coffee and 3 ways to brew it, microwave, range, refrigerator, toaster, dishware, pots & pans, and baking goods. The space is loaded with windows which lets in a lot of natural light. The lofted area has a queen size bed, large closet, desk area and full bathroom. The space is ideal for 2 people, but it could certainly work for 3. There's a twin blow-up mattress or the couch for the third person. The house is filled with reclaimed wood, handcrafted light fixtures and artistic touches - make sure to check out all of the pictures!
We are located in the University Park neighborhood of Portland - about 1 mile away of the downtown St Johns neighborhood and 1 mile away from the the University of Portland The University Park neighborhood is within walking distance, or a short drive, to parks - including Cathedral Park - bars, food carts, coffee shops, restaurants, a fitness center (Westcoast Fitness) a farmers market (only runs during the summer months), antique/thrift stores, and various other shops. Forest Park, Portland's largest park that's filled with hiking and biking trails, is located 1.5 miles away, directly across the St. Johns Bridge. Please note: Our house is not located within walking distance of downtown Portland!
  • What a gorgeous loft that Heidi and Marenda have built to share. This was by far one of THE best places I've stayed on vacation. It was so warm and welcoming down to the last detail. Wished I could have stayed longer. If you get a chance to stop on by for even one night I highly recommend booking a stay here. Thanks again ladies! Hoping next time I make my way out to PDX I'll stay here again and get a chance to meet you.

    Lauryn2016-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • This rental was perfect for us. Both Heidi and Marenda were extremely welcoming, available for anything we needed, but respectful of our privacy. The space was beautifully designed and was perfect for a couple, cozy but giving us each space when needed. Having laundry facilities was a real plus! The dogs were also friendly and welcoming but kept their distance. The rental is located in a quiet neighborhood which is very accessible to Lombard St. and downtown St. Johns. Easy access to a lovely bike path was also a plus. We will definitely rent here again.

    Edward2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for two days during our honeymoon and it was absolutely incredible! So peaceful and beautiful, exactly how it was described. They offered tons of ideas for places to go and eat which were all great as well. Check in and out was seamless and incredibly easy!

    Reid2016-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi and Marenda's back house is an ideal home away from home if you need a place to stay in Portland. Clean, bright, beautifully taken care of- its a short drive to anywhere you'd like to visit in the city or surrounding areas. We loved our stay in the spacious house, and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Portland.

    Eric2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Out stay was great. The house was beautiful and clean. Our hosts were friendly and had some blueberries from their garden to welcome us when we got to the house. We were able to cook a few times, and had all pots, pans and utensils we needed. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Portland.

    Emily2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful space. They built it themselves and you can see the care that went into everything. 100% recommend staying here.

    Cole2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • As our second ever Air BNB rental I cannot believe how lucky we got! Everything in the listing is accurate and undersells how comfortable, welcoming and perfect this place is! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was modern, clean and easily accessible, and the sun shined the whole time we were in Portland! We traveled with our teenage son who used the blowup air mattress downstairs. For three adult sized people we felt comfortable and like we had more than enough space. I totally recommend this rental!

    Tracey2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place has everything you need. Highly recommend. It truly felt like it was our own little home. So beautifully made with all the creature comforts: giant windows, comfy bedding, a kitchen that is ready to cook in, a fire pit outside, I could go on and on. Basically, you should stay here too. Quick drive to all the Portland attractions but tucked away in a quiet little neighborhood. Absolutely our favorite airbnb we've stayed in.

Our home is beautifully situated across from a quiet park. We are located just a couple blocks walk to restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bus stops on trendy Hawthorne and Division streets.
Our one bedroom, 500 square-foot basement apartment is lovingly decorated in the Northwest Style with touches of Scandinavia. The apartment has separate entrance for your privacy. The bedroom has a queen bed with cozy, fluffy featherbed comforters. The living room has a sofa that converts to double bed with bedding provided. We also have a queen futon available for parties over 4 people. It’s a bit tight for 6 people, but it is possible! We have a little kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower combo with all the essentials provided. We have a television that picks up a few stations, but we do not have cable. Our location is ideal for foodies who want to walk to popular restaurants on SE Hawthorne and SE Division streets. We are directly across the street from a park. The Hawthorne bus (#14) is just 1.5 blocks away and will get you downtown within 10 minutes. We also are walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters, shops, breweries and pubs. Our neighborhood is quiet at night, so we ask that there be no noise after 10:00pm. We are an early-to-bed, early-to-rise family (up at 5:00am) so you may hear us above in the morning.
We are ideally situated between the popular Hawthorne and Division streets. We are 2.5 blocks from the nearest bus stop and are walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters. Best of all we are located right across the street from a park. There is ample parking as well.
  • Very straight forward. Great location. Clean, quiet, super fast wifi, loved it.

  • It is a basement apt but is bright and cheerful.

    Kim2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place was in a great neighborhood; close to many places to eat. It is perfect for three people. The place was very clean and looked new. My friends liked the bed and the couch was nice and firm for my liking. The bathroom was spacious and stocked with soaps and a hair dryer. And the washer/dryer, television, refrigerator, and microwave oven were nice conveniences to have.

    Randy2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great little place and such an easy walk to shops, restaurants, bars, etc! Very clean and comfortable.

  • We came to Portland for a single night to go to a concert and found everything we needed at Jennifer's airbnb! The place was clean, comfortable, and pleasant to be in! It's already pretty chilly in the PNW, so I appreciated the space heater and the already-warm apartment when we arrived.

    Heather2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, quiet and tidy place. Thanks for the stay.

    Jason2018-02-01T00:00:00Z

Our small (8X12) free-standing studio is light-filled, private and tucked away under the trees. With a comfortable queen-sized bed, microwave, mini-fridge electric kettle and table, you will be cozy here! Please note: The Tiny House does not have its own bathroom. Guests use a shared bathroom just inside the back door of our house (our family has a primary bathroom upstairs, but we use the downstairs bath occasionally. We keep it clean and use it minimally when guests are in the tiny house).
Our tiny house is a delightful retreat. While you do share a bathroom in the house, this outdoor studio will offer you great privacy. The tiny house is set up for you to be able to sleep and make coffee/tea and microwavable meals. There is a mini-fridge for your perishable foods, and microwave and electric kettle. There is a table which you can use for dining and also as your desk. Enjoy sipping a cup of locally roasted coffee (beans provided!) while you enjoy the peaceful trees in our 2/3 acre yard. Our backyard also has a large "pump track" that Joel made, as an enthusiastic mountain biker. Feel free to bring your mountain bikes and ride it! The tiny house is very small so we do not store many things in there, but we do have additional amenities available, including: extra pillows and blankets, extra fans and space heaters, hair dryer, curling iron, clothing iron, yoga mat, extra towels, kitchen utensils, tupperware and more. If there is something you need, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate! Please Note: There is no kitchen or plumbing in the tiny house-it is small studio. It works best for guests who plan to eat out or prepare very simple foods with the microwave and mini fridge. We are happy to provide extra plates, silverware, etc. and if you need to wash a dish or two, just let us know and you can pop into our kitchen.
We live in Portland's Lents neighborhood, which is ethnically diverse and not yet gentrified. We are close to some lovely local nature preserves, including Leach Botanical Gardens and Powell Butte. We are also close to freeways, airport, parks and public transit. Please note: We are about 10 miles from downtown Portland and about 3-5 miles from the "hip" neighborhoods in SE Portland that have a lot of walkable attractions. If you have a car it is pretty easy to get around from here, but this is not the ideal neighborhood if you are hoping to walk to Portland's best spots without driving or taking the bus. You can walk to Safeway, Walgreens, and the closest bus stop very easily from here.
  • The hosts, the "tiny house" and the neighborhood were all fantastic! The location was just in the right spot to navigate anywhere easily. The hosts were very accommodating to me and my two year old. Our room was stocked with all sorts of goodies and necessities one might need or have forgotten. The bed cozy and the coffee was great! A perfect oasis in the city.

    Elizabeth2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was wonderful! Just what I needed. It was about an hour bike ride into downtown and about 30-40 to the NE quadrant. I biked everywhere which allowed me to see more of Portland. The bus stops at their location are easy to access and will take you where you need to go. Family is very respectful of my space and easy to walk into the main house to shower. Would highly recommend staying here if all you need is a place to sleep and chill after a long day of venturing in the city.

    Haley2015-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great price, great location

    Caitie2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is a good price if you are okay for a bit of a drive and the welcoming of chickens in the morning!

    Lindsey2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kate and Joel's tiny home is truly a hidden gem. This was my first visit to Portland and I feel extremely fortunate to have found this cozy retreat. Kate and Joel were prompt and flexible with my arrival and departure, going so far as to provide a space heater and extra blankets ahead of time. The restroom in the back of their home is easily accessible and just on the other side of the door (for those who don't like confrontation or prefer a lot of privacy, this is ideal). Kate and Joel are urban farmers (I grew up on a farm, so this was idyllic) and so have they're own chickens and garden in the front yard (the chickens never woke me from sleeping). They also have two young children, both of whom are equally friendly. My only criticism is perhaps the temperature of the tiny home can be difficult to control. It was dipping near freezing during my stay and so, in bed (making use of the extra blankets and space heater), my body would sweat but my head with remain quite cold (then again, I'm a skinny guy). Regardless, the bed, pillows, and sheets are incredibly comfortable! Distance-wise, it's not super close to downtown (20 minutes away by car), but a relatively short drive to any desirable location. If you're looking for an affordable and quaint place to stay, do yourself a favor. Don't even hesitate. Thank you, Kate and Joel!

    Grant2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stop for a night after a long drive!

    Robin2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Like a little cabin in the woods. Would stay here again!

    Jackson2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was the perfect space for my boyfriend and I to stay for a few days while we were in Portland. The tiny house is definitely small, but perfectly quaint. We didn't plan on being at the house very often, so the size didn't matter. If you're looking for a budget friendly option Kate and Joel's tiny house will be perfect for your upcoming trip. They even left some very helpful notes behind about the public transportation, and all of their favorite places to check out around the area. I would definitely stay there again! :)

  • Thanks Rick! Great place for an overnight.

  • The Little Pink house is great and I would recommend staying here for anyone who hasn't been to Portland. The house is just a block away from tons of shops, restaurants and food trucks on Mississippi. Perfect for one or two people, very clean, new and has a great front porch. Communication with Rick was simple and I never had any issues with the place. Thank you Rick for providing a great place to stay!

    Neal2013-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The pink house was so awesome!!! The location was phenomenal! The bed was very comfortable and the house was clean and very well laid out. We had a wonderful experience and would return without hesitation. Rick was very nice, accommodating and easy to deal with. Overall our stay was fantastic!

    Danielle2014-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • The little pink house was a great stay and Rick was a considerate and responsive host. The area surrounding the little pink house is up and coming with lots of options for food and shopping. Be warned that if you're taking the Max, it's a bit of a hike if you have luggage. Getting to the downtown area of Portland is also a bit far using public transportation but there's plenty to do on Mississippi Ave. The house was nice and cozy. Note that there's no A/C and we stayed during an unusual Portland heatwave so it got pretty hot. The kitchen is a bit bare with no sink and minimal utensils, but what the house lacks in features it makes up in character.

    Elliott2014-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I discovered the Alberta Arts District and the historic Mississippi district earlier this year. We wanted to stay in the middle of things for our return visit. Rick's Little Pink House was a fantastic choice. It's a 2 minute walk from the restaurants on Mississippi Street and a five minute drive from the main drag in the Alberta Arts District. Not really being familiar with the whole "Tiny House" concept, we were also very intrigued to stay in one. Having lived for years on a sailboat, we were certain we can handle a small amount of living space. "Cute" does not begin to describe it. It's located on a beautiful corner lot. The entrance is inviting. The interior is indeed small, but is equipped comparably to a normal hotel room with fridge, microwave, pull out sofa bed, etc. The upstairs bedroom loft is wonderful and the nook that the sofa sits in is cozy and pleasant. The living roof is a wonderful touch. Rick himself was incredibly responsive throughout and was a pleasure to deal with. We will absolutely return to the Little Pink House if our travels take us to Portland again. I would highly recommend

    Michael2014-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! The location is great for local food and drink and close enough to every major weekend fun. Lively in the evenings, quiet at night, it's perfect.

    Garrett2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • The pink house is adorable, and the location was great. I knew the house would be small, but there is not much to offer for organization, so we definitely felt like we were living out of our suitcase. Rick sent us an email after staying there, saying it was evident we had a dog staying with us, false. We did not take our 70lb. dog on a 3-hour flight for a weekend trip. We may have left too many fibers there for his cleaning crew to handle, which makes me worry about the cleanliness.

    Lesley2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here as a pair of couples. It's a great intimate space for 4. We ended up playing board games in the loft on evenings, and found it a great place to plan our adventures in Portland from. The neighbourhood was a great surprise. Being so close to Mississippi street gave us quick access to some amazing food and drink.

  • Can't say enough good things about Chuck & Annika's place. They were super friendly and lovely when we interacted but were great about leaving us space as well. The listing itself is awesome; very clean and comfortable and really nice to stay in although we spent most of our time out & about. They really pay attention to the little details and made us feel totally welcome and at home. They have a great list of information about the area, and recommendations which we felt were spot-on. The location is also perfect; a very easy walk to a ton of restaurants/shopping/etc, as well as access to a bus line that runs frequently through to downtown which makes access easy to pretty much everywhere with no need for a car. Would recommend whole-heartedly and would definitely love to stay here again.

    Ashley2015-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful weekend getaway! My husband and I spent a Saturday night here and loved it. The apartment was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our time there. It is just a couple blocks from some great restaurants and shops, yet the apartment itself was very quiet and peaceful. Chuck and Annika were great hosts, providing a great resource book with detailed lists of local restaurants and activities and making themselves readily available for questions. (Although they were so well organized, we didn't have any.) We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again!

  • Loved our stay here! It was so cozy and cute, and located in a fantastic, walkable neighborhood of Portland. We always found a place to park and felt extremely safe to walk at night if needed. The one thing we noticed was that we could hear very clearly when guests were over upstairs. Fortunately it wasn’t at a time when we were trying to sleep. I’d stay here again in a heart beat! Loved the home baked cookies too 😊

Alleyn was very helpful, kind and overall great hostess. Her home is very comfortable, as was the bed. The location is close to lots of restaurants, shops and bars within walking distance. Public transport is also within easy reach. This was a great place to stay for our first visit to Portland!

this was our first time visiting portland, and we loved the location of aysha's space! so much to see and do within easy walking distance -- we ate several evenings at grain & gristle (definitely a gem), and grabbed our morning coffee at extraco. Alberta Street has many great restaurants and the best ice cream around (salt & straw). as a runner, i found it easy to get long and short training runs completed arund the neighborhood. the space itself is modern, clean and quiet. checking in and out was hassle-free. we will definitely stay here again.
