Beautiful, inspiring and peaceful.
A peaceful retreat awaits you in the trees just outside of West Asheville's "locals" downtown! Walkable to Haywood Rd and all our excellent neighborhood restaurants, art and yoga studios, farmers market and pubs. Or you can borrow a bike from us and zip into town. Note: Our house is in a dense suburban residential neighborhood and not outside of town. We have neighbors on all sides but we are lucky that our house is in an urban forest that affords privacy. This is a quiet place to write and rest or just commune with the big oaks around your private deck. The studio apartment is below the main house which has its own entrance and outdoor space. Our family lives above and we are very respectful of your privacy. The studio is SMALL one room space (12x15) but well equipped with a hot plate, under counter fridge, small table and 2 chairs and a queen size bed. You have your own small bathroom with 3x3 shower and toilet. Bathroom sink is in kitchenette. A laundry room is right next door and is also available. If you are looking for an unique space that is peaceful and quiet but part of a vibrant creative community you will enjoy staying with us and we will enjoy hosting you!
West Asheville is the best! Quiet and neighborly, it's not like downtown Asheville with hotels and so many tourists but you can get there or the parkway or the Biltmore very quickly by car. Downtown, five minutes, everywhere else, ten minutes. We have our own downtown in West Asheville and there's many excellent restaurants and music venues within walking or biking distance.
  • I loved my stay at Jakub and Maria's. The space was clean, private, quiet and unique and very convenient to town. I will definitely hope to stay again!

  • A small but gorgeous spot perfect for someone who will be spending most of their time out exploring. Although we did enjoy some wine on the patio and the zip line through the trees.

    Candice2014-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jakub and Maria's place is absolutely perfect. The location is great; a super short bike ride to West Asheville, yet when you sit on that deck overlooking the woods you feel like you're nice and secluded. The interior of the room is clean, modern, minimalist, and has a great open view of the trees. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. Next time we Airbnb in Asheville we'll definitely try to stay here again.

    Susan2013-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a sweet spot! We slept well in this little nook, a gorgeous window on Asheville. Our hosts were generous and communicative. And come on, there's a backyard zipline!

    Addie2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay in this very cool and serene space. Would definitely return! Thanks Maria.

    Raleigh2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was exactly as advertised. It served as a perfect location for our adventures in the area. It's about a 10 minute drive into downtown Asheville, 5 minutes to the river arts district, and a mile down the road from downtown West Asheville. This is a perfect place for an on-the-go couple to get a great nights sleep and grab a shower before a day or night out on the town.

    Jason2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first trip to Asheville, and we couldn’t have stayed in a more perfect Air B&B! Jakub & Maria were so welcoming, nice, and understanding! They give you space but are always willing to communicate and help with any concerns or suggestions! As a first time visitor to the area, we thought we were far away from everything — but that isn’t true! We were so close to everything, even though it was so peaceful and quiet — even being right by the interstate! It was a perfect stay! We would recommend to anyone visiting Asheville!

    Sarah2017-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • This studio with a view became our sanctuary for a few days. Maria was incredibly thoughtful and all of her special touches made us feel right at home. I’d recommend this place for anyone who wants a quiet space to relax after exploring Asheville.

Come escape to our tiny modern off grid cabin situated in the middle of our private 125 acre gated mountain top property backing up to Pisgah National Forest. Enjoy soaring views, proximity to hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and sleep in a comfy bed...just 25 minutes to downtown Asheville! All dogs are welcome!
Wake up to a breath taking mountain view amidst the trees! Hike our nearby trail along the creek or drive 4 miles to the top of mount pisgah and hike along the blue ridge parkway! You can be in downtown Asheville in 25 minutes to enjoy all the amazing food, breweries, and art galleries. The cabin has a comfortable queen size bed, a propane 2 burner cook stove, solar generator for cabin lights and to plug in cell phones and lap top (if there is sun!), some cell phone service depending who your provider is, a water cooler for drinking and washing, propane heater if its cold, and a very clean outhouse. There is an outdoor shower fed by our rainwater collection system that is open seasonally April-October. As a back up shower, we have a solar shower (5 gallon shower bag) you can use year around as needed...but it would still be an outdoor shower so in the winter it could get chilly out there. Attached to the cabin is a very clean porta potty with mountain views that is emptied weekly on Monday mornings sometime between 8-11am. We have an outdoor fire pit a short stroll from the cabin for making s'mores and cooking- bring your own firewood or buy some from my neighbor. Check out our sweet 2 person swing with epic views! The glass garage door on the front of the cabin opens to beautiful mountain views (it has a roll down bug screen). The cabin is heated by a propane heater during the winter. Bring your own battery operated fans in the summer. You will need to bring your own cooler with ice in it (there is no fridge) and your own towels for bathing. Bed linens will be provided. Basic cook ware, tea pot and coffee press are provided. We leave a couple 5 gallon jugs of water for you to drink and wash dishes in, but you may want to bring your own drinking water. There are 2 chairs and a fold out table. We provide some board games and books for your entertainment. We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved dogs of any size are welcome! Bring their crates and beds. They will need to be left in a crate if left indoors without you there. Please do not request dates that are not available on the calendar. Our calendar is up to date and accurate. We have a flexible cancellation policy which means that people do cancel on us...so check back in to look at the calendar every once in a while and you may find new available dates. If you can't find the dates you want, check out our other cabin on our property which has beautiful views, and a sweet fire pit right next to it. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21102715?s=51 VERY IMPORTANT TO READ BEFORE YOU BOOK: Our road is steep and there are rough patches in the pavement leading up to our gate. All cars can make it up our mountain, but if you are concerned about your car making it, or are scared of driving in the mountains, then this cabin may not be a great fit for you. There are animals in the woods and around the cabin. There are coyotes, bears, bobcats, fox, deer, snakes and turkey. For the safety of your dogs, it is best to keep them on a leash. Use the swing at your own risk. It is super fun...and hangs off the edge of the mountain...which makes it even more fun....but please be careful. The outdoor shower may not always work, even during it's open season. That is why we have the back up solar shower bag for you to use. When we are available, we are happy to come up and get the shower up and running again...but please be aware that this is an off grid cabin and some things take a little extra tinkering to get them to work. The outdoor solar shower bag is available to be used year around as long as it isn't too cold for you to shower outside! I have a nice list of other places to take showers during your stay in the winter. The solar generator is there to run the lights in the cabin and plug in your cell phone. Please do not use it for anything else. If the guest right before you runs the solar generator out of battery power, then you may have to wait a while for the sun to recharge it. If there is no sun to recharge it, then there will be no electricity. Bring a lantern or flashlight along in case this scenario happens. The toilet is serviced on Monday mornings sometime between 8-11am by a pump truck. He has to walk across the front deck to get to the toilet.
The proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the hiking trails nearby make this neighborhood special!
  • Amazing! There needs to be more places like this. If you're looking for a dope place to stay with incredible atmosphere, unique construction, and privacy, HERE IT IS! Tip: bring a coller if you want to keep cold food.

    Caleb2017-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was very nice and close to a lot of things to do. It still felt like you had the whole mountain to yourself! The hosts were very nice and gave great directions to get there.

    Daniel2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very special spot

    Nat2017-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is ISOLATED! And we loved it - stayed here over Christmas 2017 and it was the perfect, quiet holiday we were seeking. There's an Ingles within 15 minutes if you need supplies, but heads up - you might not want to leave once you get up there. Haley communicates everything very well and we were given 4 people's cell numbers in case we needed anything. Be ready for rustic but if you are prepared, you will love this location. Incredible views, comfortable lodging, as advertised. We will be back (in the spring, when it's warmer).

    Timothy2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Haley’s cabin was one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed. The location and cabin are so unique, breathtaking and secluded. It’s absolutely perfect for a relaxing getaway! Haley left great tips for things to do in the city as well as what mountain trails are the best. My husband, dog, and I enjoyed our stay so much and would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing and unique vacation experience.

    Chelsea2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely adored the cabin! It was really great to unplug and reconnect! We certainly would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to reconnect with the beauty of the surrounding mountains.

    thomas2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views. We stayed for a weekend getaway, and it was so relaxing and scenic. The cabin is a perfect getaway for any occasion. We will definitely be back!

    Elizabeth2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! Haley's place is wonderful. The girls especially loved the outdoor rainwater shower and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. It's peaceful and beautiful. Looking forward to our next visit!

Located along the Swannonoa River only 12 minutes from downtown Asheville, this quaint space is a perfect getaway for a romantic weekend or a personal retreat. Jacuzzi tub for two, private wooded porches w/hammock, and swing make this a sweet mountain getaway.
Relax on the hammock and enjoy the sounds of the river on the porch swing. The comfortable, private porch is the perfect place for reading, relaxing, and enjoying an afternoon beverage. Enjoy a Jacuzzi tub for two and wind down. The studio is accessed through a private entrance with private parking and features a queen size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa, flat screen tv with Netflix and Hulu streaming services, DVD player, fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, and microwave. Coffee, tea, and chilled water are provided. Studio is stocked with care. Books, games, and art supplies for a creative and relaxing vacation. The property is located in a house perched in the trees--ideal bird watching and spotting wild turkeys, river otters, blue herons, beavers, ducks, and the occasional black bear. The river is only accessible via a short walk across the street and down the riverbank. Please note that while actual treehouses are amazing, this is a "treehouse," meaning a studio within a house in the trees! We just want to be clear.
This east Asheville neighborhood is a gorgeously wooded, private refuge with easy access to Asheville's best spots. 12 minutes to Downtown Asheville 3 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway 5 minutes to Warren Wilson College 15 minutes to Bilmore Estate Creekside Tavern, Filo Bakery, MoJo Coffee Truck, Pomodoro's, and the world's best taco truck are only minutes away on Asheville's eastside. Our neighborhood is a quiet, residential locale. Our priority is to respect our neighbors. You'll often find kids and pups navigating our winding neighborhood roads. It is essential that all guests drive slowly and carefully!
  • We loved staying at the river end treehouse. It was not far from downtown but had the feeling of being tucked secluded and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We loved that it had all the amenities that it needed. Heather was a great host and we will be back again to visit!

    Courtney2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it!

    Joshua2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • This studio is a fantastic getaway. The area is fairly secluded but not too far away from everything which was perfect. When I arrived Heather was there to greet me and show me around the place. There were lots of small touches that made me feel right at home, and, if you're like me and not sure what to do in the area, her guidebook to the area is comprehensive and has lots of good recommendations. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

    Nakeem2015-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here, heather was very nice and had everything there to make it feel like home a way from home. We would absolutely stay here again. 5 star experience

    Steven2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • To leave a review and the best one I simply can is by saying I will be back! I loved it so much that I will stay at Heather's again and have found my place to stay when I go to Asheville.

    Jeffrey2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time on our trip to Asheville, and Heather's place was a big part of that! The location couldn't have been more perfect. Just far enough away to enjoy the peaceful seclusion of the mountains, but an easy 5-10 minute drive to downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The studio was exactly as described. It was clean and organized, and Heather had definitely gone the distance in trying to provide all we would need. Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail did not go unnoticed (she even brought down a cupcake and balloon for my birthday :) ! She was also very easy to reach when we needed her, and full of very good suggestions for things to do and places to eat in the area. I will definitely stay here again on future visits, and would highly recommend this place to others!

    Caroline2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was such an incredible experience! Heather made us feel right and home. It was so beautiful and she was so accommodating that she made our first ever AirBnB trip perfect. We cannot wait to go back and use her again- I would recommend her to everyone I know.

    Taylor2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is worth staying at: super close to downtown, hidden and quiet neighborhood with beautiful woodsy touches. Enjoyed some coffee on the porch swing in the morning, a post hike bubble bath in the afternoon. Loved it here!

Quiet, secluded country cottage only 6 minutes from downtown. Sip your morning coffee on a private brick patio surrounded by large trees and singing birds. This is the downstairs unit. To see upstairs unit visit https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1950593
The best of both worlds! Quiet, secluded country cottage only six minutes from downtown Asheville. Sip your morning coffee on a private brick patio surrounded by large trees and singing birds. Enjoy easy access to West Asheville's restaurant scene. If you'd rather have your own private porch and deck with great views of the surrounding trees, check out our upstairs unit. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1950593 Please read the HOUSE RULES before booking. Most importantly, we only have parking for ONE CAR per unit, and only allow two people maximum per unit, no exceptions! (If you have an extra car you'll have to leave it in a parking garage downtown.) This private apartment is the ground floor of our our cozy gated home at the end of one lane gravel road. We live in the little house in the backyard. In front of our house is the Crown Plaza golf course and mountain bike trail. The apartment is fully furnished, including a fully equipped kitchen with a full fridge, microwave, four-burner stove & oven, a coffee maker, a toaster and a blender (perfect for breakfast smoothies!) It includes Wireless Internet, off street parking for one car, complimentary coffee and tea. All linens and towels provided. We also provide shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner so you don't have to pack these bulky items! Electric heating with two separate thermostats keeps the apartment at an optimum comfortable temperature. A window air conditioner unit is provided in the summer months. The bathroom has a custom-tiled double shower with glass doors, underfloor heating (great for keeping your toes warm!) and plenty of storage for your toiletries. The apartment is not suitable for children as it is not childproofed. The bed is a queen size. We are surrounded by trees and wild spaces, which makes it perfect for the wildlife that live here. We have raccoons, opossums, red foxes, woodchucks, chipmunks, squirrels and the occasional coyote. Our bird-friendly yard is home to over 20 different species of birds including a resident pair of red-shouldered hawks and a screech owl family. Our house is only 45 minutes away from the Cataloochee valley in the Smoky Mountains National Park. The valley is known for its elk and black bear population. The east side of the Smokies is great as it is less touristy than further west. It is a great place for a day trip! Enjoy the benefits of living close to Downtown and recharge your batteries in our tranquil home.
  • Everything was as described and wonderful. The apartment was very well equipped, spacious, and made for a perfect home base in Asheville. A very short drive from anywhere in Asheville, but in it's own secluded quiet spot. The only complaint was the typical loud footsteps from upstairs tenants, but there's not much you can do about that. This will be my first choice for my next visit to Asheville.

    Taylor2015-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Christina and Hal's, I only wish it could have been longer! Christina greeted us and offered some great restaurant recommendations. The space was immaculate and very comfortable. We enjoyed the wildlife photos, and the thoughtful touches like coffee and creamer in the fridge. Would definitely stay here again!

    Jen2014-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Hal and Cristina personally greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the space. Even though I knew it would be wonderful, it was the small touches like the two thermostats, heated bathroom floors, personal travel photography on the walls and advice on the best restaurants, groceries and activities that really made us feel special. We felt welcomed and lucky to be seeing Asheville through their eyes. The space itself is beautiful. They built it themselves and left nothing out. I especially liked how clean everything was and appreciated the time they put into decorating and making the space cozy. We even had a visit from their feline friend who came down to say hi! Hal and Cristina definitely know what they're doing and we would highly recommend staying here on any trip to the Asheville area. We only wish we would have had a few more days!

    Kelly2015-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a GREAT experience during our stay! Hal and Cristina were very welcoming and did a great job of communicating with us during out stay. Loved the private setting so close to everything Asheville had to offer. Look forward to staying there on out next trip to the area.

    Brian2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little hideaway! You'd never know that this is just minutes away from downtown. It's so quiet and peaceful. Hal was there to greet us and give us a tour when we arrived. The cottage was perfect, exactly like the pictures looked. And it was amazingly clean! My husband was skeptical of Airbnb but after this experience, he is officially a convert from hotels.

    Hannah2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous trip! After our last airbnb experience we swore we would never use it again but I am so happy we gave it another chance. The cabin was beyond clean, spacious, and very welcoming. They provided us with lots of recommendations of places to go and eat at and we were never disappointed. We would love to come and stay again in the future.

    Aaron/Kailyn2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cristina and Hal were very gracious and welcoming. They gave us lots of fantastic recommendations for restaurants in Asheville that cater to gluten-free people like me! The cottage is cute, clean and comfortable. I love the simple decor and beautiful photography! My husband and I both wholeheartedly recommend this cottage. We will definitely be going back to visit again!

  • I had a great vacation at Christina and Hal's , they seem to be very kind and companionate ....the little apartment was fantastic , very well (Website hidden by Airbnb) a carpenter myself I can say that hall did a great job (Website hidden by Airbnb) am very active so really didn't spend much time in the unit , but the location was amazing and the shower was fanatic ( I'm a two shower a day guy since I bike and skateboard wherever I go) (Website hidden by Airbnb) This is basically an entire apartment with a sitting area , a desk with a window view that was great considering I had some business to attend to while there . A full kitchen and a washer dryer combo .....and the best (Website hidden by Airbnb) TV (Website hidden by Airbnb) picked this particular spot for its proximity to Haywood and the river arts district.....i was able to reach everything I wanted to do on bicycle ( I took my single speed track bike , I would recommend a geared bike if you do not ride regularly (Website hidden by Airbnb) The ingles grocery store is close as well sunny point for great brunch , the admiral for great dinner , harvest records for those tunes , and the best dive bars in Asheville ( burger bar , the odditorium , double crown , the de Soto ). (Website hidden by Airbnb) was in Asheville on a scouting trip to move there , and Christina and Hal were just the types I hoped and expected to mee (Website hidden by Airbnb) will absolutely stay there on my future trips before the move... (Website hidden by Airbnb) Absolutely excellent , the little window unit kept the place very comfortable , the bed was great , the provided coffee and cream was sufficient and appreciated and the shower was fantastic ......-me the washer dryer Combo allows you to pack lite , the full kitchen lets you save some loot by cooking in the unit (Website hidden by Airbnb) Christina and Hal were very inviting and I was even able to sneak off my last day to a secret skate spot and actually roll around on my skateboard with my host before having a final amazing meal at sunny point (Website hidden by Airbnb) Best thing going for the price!!!!! Watch out for the kitties that live on the property , remember to close the gate!

SparkleBark Farm offers our open air guest cabin to those who want the comfort of a bed while enjoying the same breezes, wild flowers, fireflies, and early morning mist that you'd have while camping. Just a 15 minute drive away from downtown Asheville, NC.
Sparklebark Farm is a small-scale organic farm and homestead. For the past four years Zac and Bea, the owners, have been collaborating with a revolving cast of incredibly talented friends to make this land a model of sustainability, as well as natural and artistic beauty. We grow a ton of vegetables as well as flowers and keep flocks of free range chickens and ducks. Bea is a fine artist who makes beautiful nature-based drawings (check out her (email hidden)), and Zac is a builder and woodworker who has been pouring his heart into beautifying and constructing buildings and infrastructure at Sparklebark. Our vision is to continue to steward and beautify the land through agriculture as well as art, we are so excited to share this little slice of paradise!
Our neighborhood is the nearby mountain range. We live on seven acres of land, and rarely see or hear our neighbors. Sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the laughter of the children who live on the other side of the valley. We enjoy the rural setting but can be at any location in Asheville in under 15 minutes and on the blue ridge parkway or deep in the woods in 20!
  • We had a very low key and enjoyable stay

    Benjamim2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is not to be believed!!! Everything from the cabin, to the views, the gorgeous flower garden, even the bathroom was absolutely stunning! I can't remember the last time I felt so peaceful!! The actual cabin is gorgeous, the 180 degree view was incredible. I loved waking up to the sunrise and brewing a cup of coffee in bed (they even provided a French press). The breeze made it cool on a summer day, but it still felt lovely in the evening. There was even an adorable fire pit outside! The whole property is a work of art, the bathroom included! My partner was a tad intimidated by the compost toilets at first, but they were easy to use and very clean! Taking a shower outside was glorious, and the water got nice and warm! The only whole place is beautiful, I highly recommend strolling the property at sunrise!! Zach and Bea were the best- we loved getting to know them but appreciated that they also gave us our space. They both are so lovely and hospitable! SPARKLEBARK IS MAGIC!!!!!

    Alex2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sparklebark was the perfect getaway! The hosts are super friendly and helpful. The property provides beautiful scenery and hand crafted art. It is also close to town. Anyone looking for a perfect bedroom in the woods should definitely check it out!

  • I only stayed for one night but I had such a great time. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Surrounded by the trees is was very quiet and it felt amazing to let the mountain breeze come through the screen windows. The home is close to Ashville and anything you need in Weaverville. We also encountered a very friendly kitty who followed us around the farm. The bathrooms were clean and minimal smell.

    Jasmin2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A unique, fun Airbnb with a good location—a 10 minute drive to downtown Asheville and less than 5 minutes from Lake Louise (for an easy morning walk).

    Eric2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best place we have ever stayed on AirBnb. It was a short 10 minute drive from downtown asheville but felt like we were out in the wilderness once you get on the property. The staff (Erin?) were very friendly as they were looking after the place while the hosts were gone. You walk onto the property and there are amazing flower and vegetable gardens. They have the most idyllic outdoor shower and bathroom that was very comfortable to use. I could do that everyday and be fine. The house itself was a dream. Built from the lumber milled from the trees on the property, it had charm and style and was very functional. Bed was comfy and although the rooster needs a new watch, since he started his wake up call a bit earlier than sunup, we still slept just fine. We have no complaints and would go back again tomorrow. The french press coffee in the morning looking over the mountains was very enjoyable and we also got to watch the lightning bugs. There was a family of wild turkeys walking through the property with their little babies. So cute! The ducks were fun to watch to as they ran around very content snatching up lighting bugs at dusk.

    Joshua2015-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We came up for a weekend getaway and it was absolutely wonderful! The space was so quaint and peaceful. The view and grounds were exactly how we pictured, little farm in the mountains. The night got a little chilly but the heated blankets made it perfect. All the local foods and sights were terrific as well! We loved our little mini vacay and will def be returning for another trip away from the busy life.

    Whitney2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • A really magical experience. True glamping with all the special touches. The weather was beautiful and I had a wonderful nights sleep.

Also, the goat area is fenced in with high voltage electric wire to keep predators out. Inside the goats pen, feel free to play with the goats! They are very friendly.
  • My host, Julia, could not have made me feel more welcome. She respected my privacy but was always available to answer my questions.

    Brian2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay! Julia was there to greet us, as was pre arranged. The cottage is immaculate. It is truly a little gem just 10 minutes from downtown. We enjoyed every minute of it .

    Leanne2015-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Julia's apartment was fantastic -- cozy but not cramped, and with a small but very functional kitchen, and a gorgeous view of a pasture right out the window. Julia greeted us when we arrived and was available if we needed, but mostly it felt like we were in our own private little space in the mountains. We were grateful to be able to bring our dog along, too -- she got some good playtime with Julia's very energetic dog Milo, and Julia provided directions to a great hike for us along a nearby river. The location of the apartment was great, too -- just a few minutes to downtown Asheville, and yet very thoroughly in the country. We look forward to visiting again!

    Rebecca2013-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Woody Glen. The apartment was clean, beautiful, and well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Julia was a warm and friendly host and her dog Milo and the goats were great to hang out with. Would definitely like to stay here again next time I make it back to Asheville.

    Geoffrey2014-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in Julia's Eco Cottage. She is a wonderful, hard working and very interesting person and a fantastic host. It was an awesome experience for us and our 2 poodles. The photos and description of the space are very accurate. The location and neighborhood is great. The goats are really cool and Milo is a very sweet dog. We loved the peaceful relaxed atmosphere and and being so close to downtown Ashville. We very highly recommend staying here.

    Sandy2014-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful and unique place to stay while exploring the Asheville area. Julia was a welcoming and generous host, introducing us to her goat family and dog -- all very sweet -- shortly after we arrived. The studio is like a suite, with a separate sleeping, sitting, and kitchen area -- and porch! -- perfect for a relaxing short-term visit. Her community is in the country, which makes for a quiet, peaceful retreat after busy days exploring nearby downtown Asheville and having other mini adventures. We had driven two days to get there from Massachusetts, and our stay at Julia's was a big part of why we had such a great trip.

    Kirti2015-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Julia as the perfect host! We felt so comfortable and welcomed. The setting is a PERFECT GET AWAY! The accommodations exceeded our expectations!!! We will be back for sure!

    Nancy2016-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect place for my sister and I to stay! Clean beautiful little studio. We loved where it was located and loved the goats and the dog! Julia was absolutely accommodating and very helpful with information of the area! Would not hesitate to go back.

  • Perfect basement studio apartement near WALK, Admiral and within walking distrance of most all other West Asheville attractions. The hot tub is the real deal with strong jets overlooking a treefilled backyard; I could even stars at night. There is even a picnic table in the yard and a patio chairs and table for outside sitting. I'd recommend this spot to friends for sure!

  • The "Urban Oasis" was just that - an urban oasis, as it is tucked away on a a side street in West Asheville. Dave and Melissa were very accommodating, as they were easy reach and respected our privacy. The location is ideal - many bars and restaurants are within walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the relaxing hot tub. We hope to return to both Asheville and Urban Oasis. Excellent Air BnB experience!

    Britta2015-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and David made us feel incredibly welcome, from the personalized greeting to the travel toiletries provided in the bathroom. The apartment was as cozy and comfortable as shown in the pictures, although we were so busy during our time in Asheville that we didn't get a chance to use the hot tub (sadly!). The apartment is on the lower level of a house in West Asheville and is very close to a number of great restaurants (a couple of which we tried out and others we will have to check out next time!). The house is on a narrow street with neighboring houses not much to look at (slightly run down), but not unsafe, and the price and the comfort of the apartment are certainly a major plus! Would definitely stay here again if renting through Airbnb in Asheville.

    Elizabeth2015-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • My communication with David and Melissa from the time I booked the Urban Oasis was wonderful. They were very fast at responding to any questions I had. The place was just described. The perfect week get away that I needed for my birthday in Asheville. I only wish that is was cooler so I could have enjoyed the hot tub. It is in the perfect location to many hot spots and breweries.

    Heather2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cool location and great accommodations! David and Melissa checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and even provided a special Holiday surprise!

  • 9.8 out of 10. Only draw back which is very minor. You can hear the people walking upstairs. That's it. Everything else is/was fantastic Great location, several restaurants less than a 5 min walk, 20 min or less drive to downtown and several state parks.

    Dave2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • David and Melissa were very easy to work with. My husband and I stayed here with another couple. We had a lovely visit to Asheville. The location of David and Melissa's place is really ideal. Walkable to so many great shops, restaurants, and bars in West Asheville, and a short drive to Downtown. You really get the best of both worlds here -- a quiet retreat (the deck was very relaxing) that is still close to Asheville's attractions.

    Aimee2017-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • David and Melissa were great hosts! They were quick to respond to messages and stayed in contact just the right amount. The place was very cute and clean. The hot tub was heaven, and the bottle of wine was a sweet touch. Of course, we greatly appreciated being able to bring along our two dogs.

The "rad pad" is a 600 square foot open, airy, modern nest just two blocks off of funky West Asheville's Haywood Road. Our neighborhood is HIGHLY walkable with tons of restaurants, coffee shops and other goodies just a short walk away! We offer safe and secure off road parking directly above your abode. We'd love to have ya...p.s. we've been "superhosts" every quarter since we made our space available to our lovely guests.
One huge studio with milk stained wood ceiling and large beams, shower with floor to ceiling subway tile, concrete floors throughout, kitchenette with coffee maker, mini fridge and toaster oven (not that you should eat in while you're here, but maybe you need to heat up those left overs?). The bathroom has two specific areas, a shower area with sink and nice table for toiletries and another space with the toilet and another sink, with drawers for clothing or toiletries. The bed is a super comfy queen with down pillows and comforter. We also provide slippers and robes for our guests to feel like the kings and queens you are! Please enjoy the front porch/stoop of your pad and the provided chairs, too!
West is BEST! West Asheville is where most of the artists in this city live, as well as an eclectic mix of other vibrant people. We're a middle class neighborhood with a touch of grit and a whole lot of revival.
  • We loved our stay here. It was the perfect size for me and my fiancé. It was very clean and looks just like the pictures. Meg was great. There was chocolate & wine when we arrived. The house is really close to Haywood Street, Downtown, & downtown west Asheville. We had such a great time going to breweries & shopping. We would stay here again.

    Anna Kathryn2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had everything we needed for a delightful stay. The studio apartment is well furnished with enough kitchen to make coffee, warm up some buns or micro leftovers, even wine glasses and a corkscrew. Easy parking on site and simple check in messaged via text. We found the location convenient to where we were going and would certainly book again. Quiet, convenient, private.

    Cindy2016-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place truly was an urban oasis- calm, beautiful, and well located within a cool Asheville neighborhood. The host was especially accommodating for us when we booked at the last minute. A great place to stay in W Asheville!

    Laura2015-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Meg and her place were great! She was easy to contact, direct instruction and a comfy place to rest our heads. The apartment was spotless and wonderfully decorated. It was also great not to have to worry about parking. The descriptions made by other guests and Meg herself, were very accurate. It was a great stay.

    Laura2015-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • The "rad pad" is a wonderful west Asheville rental. Located near an eclectic neighborhood and a $6-8 uber to the Orange peel/wicked weed or other major Asheville sights-to-see, it's a convenient location for a very reasonable nightly rate. Neat, creatively decorated with luxurious amenities (such as the shower), it's a fantastic retreat for a night or weekend away. Highly recommend.

    Madeline2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Meg was great she left us water bottles and made our stay very comfortable. Her place is amazing!!! The location was great. We got in late so she left the lights on for us. We walked down to Hayward and had a great late night snack at the walk. We went to a couple different places in North Carolina and hers was by far the best. Wish we could of stayed there longer. It was very clean and she had a coffee maker and fridge which was key!!!! Thanks again Meg for the great stay!!!!!!!!!

I designed this cozy, small space (12x24) for myself and have loved living in it! If you have ever wondered what it's like to live tiny (or smallish) come stay and try it out! It's located behind my personal residence in a sweet little neighborhood minutes from downtown...(Uber is available). The deck overlooks a quiet ravine where the bears travel frequently (not as much in the winter). It's quiet and close to everything! Adults only... Thank you! Airbnb guests only. No visitors, please.
I had this quaint and cozy cabin built by a company specializing in small home design. Their craftsmanship is unparalleled! It is nestled in the trees above a small ravine and sits in the backyard of my house. It is small (288 sq ft downstairs, 100 upstairs and a 100 sq. ft. deck) but has the feel of something bigger with high ceilings and an open concept and loft. It is close to downtown, the Biltmore, and Blue Ridge Parkway but feels like a quiet get away. This space is meant for two people and is for adults only. Absolutely no pets, smoking, vaping or parties. Please respect the no pets policy as there are folks highly allergic to even hypoallergenic pets. Thank you! Features: All new designer furniture Brand new queen size bed in the loft Full sized refrigerator Toaster oven, microwave, and hot plate for small meals. Coffee maker with Starbucks House roast coffee Ceramic tile bath with roomy tiled shower Wide plank oak hardwood floors Rosewood dining bar in eat-in kitchen Hide-away fold down writing desk with view of trees and wildlife Real stairs/storage to the loft Tankless water heater so you have limitless hot water Beautiful deck out back to sit and take in the view This Tiny House is for my Airbnb guests only. No visitors please. Come see how special this place is! I love it!
This house is located in a cozy, tree-lined neighborhood 4 miles from downtown. Close enough to anything you want to do but tucked away in its own little patch of woods. Walkable neighborhood to a public library, two playgrounds, one block to the Farmers' Market on Fridays, and two blocks to PennyCup coffee shop (try their frozen Green Tea!) and Creekside Taphouse BBQ...yum!
  • Great, comfy little cabin! Perfect for two. My husband and I stayed here for several days to celebrate our first anniversary. We used Lyft to get to downtown almost daily, which was a quick 10 minute-ish trip to nearly anywhere you wanted to go. The place is quiet and secluded and had everything you need and nothing more. Would definitely recommend.

  • This home is absolutely pristine. Has to be the BEST airbnb in Asheville. The location is perfect - very close to downtown and other attractions. The bed is super comfortable. Karen is very easy to get in touch with- very helpful and considerate. Check-in was very easy, and the amenities of the house exceed expectations. Looking forward to staying here again soon.

    Lena2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Karen provided great local recommendations and was prompt to answer all of our questions right away! We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at a Tiny House and will compare any future visits to the high standards that Karen has set!

  • Karen was quick to respond to texts. The place was spotless when we arrived. Super cozy and felt like home.

  • Karin was very prompt in her responses and kept good communication. The space was new, cozy, and clean with just a short drive to downtown. The tiny/small home is right next to the blue ridge parkway which is an amazing drive with lots of great hikes, waterfalls, and views!

    Patrick2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A part of me wanted to skip leaving a review because I'm afraid Karen's adorable, cozy, and fabulous tiny house will never be available again!! It is just perfect. I loved EVERYTHING about it -- the location is convenient, yet has the feel of seclusion; the layout is thoughtful and maximizes the spacious feel of the objectively tiny home; the directions provided are so over-the-top helpful. I wanted to stay here forever!

Next to a serine creek, off the Blue Ridge Pkwy, and 5 min. To downtown. This 116 yr old, two story 700 sq ft home has charm like no other. Internet, Roku TV, walk in shower, small fridge, wood stove, microwave, and Blue tooth sound system. The upstairs loft/bedroom has low ceilings. Approximately 6'2"

  • This place needs to be advertised as one of the best/unique homes to stay at on Airbnb! Perfect for our weekend getaway to Asheville. The only bad part is that we couldn't stay longer. Paul is very accommodating and is super quick to respond to messages. Paul's place is just far enough outside of downtown Asheville to enjoy the peace and serenity of the mountains yet still only a 10 minute drive into downtown. The house has everything you will need for a comfortable stay. My wife and I enjoyed relaxing with a a cup of coffee and the windows open downstairs. Lots of windows foe stairs to let in a ton of natural light. The bedroom has a lot more room than you would imagine. The bed is super comfortable and there is even a Roku tv to add some modern comforts. In summary...stay here!

    Richard2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a fantastic host. His home is clean, quiet, and fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, whether you are looking to hike all day and come back to rest or to stay in and watch a lot of TV. The location is amazing - just minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville. The only thing that we were not expecting were the low ceilings in the upstairs bedroom area and in the shower. Anyone over 6 ft might have to watch their head. Regardless, we will definitely be staying again in the future!!

    Elaine2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for our vacation. Easily accessible to downtown but far enough away to make it a true mountain getaway. Paul and his family were wonderful and made everything so easy. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to return.

Beautiful, spacious walk-out basement apartment overlooking mountains, forest, and river. Unwind in the hot tub after hiking. Enjoy coffee on your deck. Let nature lull you to sleep on the king size bed. Relax and rejuvenate in this lovely retreat, just minutes from most attractions: 2-4 miles: Blue Ridge Parkway, Highland Brewery, Folk Art Center; 5-7 miles: Downtown Asheville, River Arts District; 9 miles: Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Pisgah Brewery.
The walk-out basement apartment is light and bright, with windows in each of its 4 rooms that offer various views of mountains, forested property, and the Swannanoa River. A sliding glass door in the living room and a glass door in the kitchen both open to your own deck. The hot tub is just a few steps down from the kitchen door on its own deck. Note that hosts do not use hot tub when guests are present. The living room features a comfy couch and other seating, and a 42” HDTV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, PBS, and YouTube TV, which offers network affiliates, cable news, and many sports channels. The huge master bedroom with a king-size bed opens - via a wide doorway (no door - see photos) - to the living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking equipment and dinnerware, and includes a dining table for two.
Botany Woods is a beautifully wooded and quiet neighborhood one mile outside the Asheville city limits. The neighborhood is bordered by the Swannanoa River. We are a short drive to parks, attractions, breweries, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and downtown Asheville. Please drive 25 mph or less in our neighborhood, and watch for pedestrians.
  • It is a beautiful home in a picturesque setting. Miriam and Patrick have decorated their little basement apartment so cutely and it felt so welcoming. It was so nice to find bagels, muffins, coffee, and fresh juice waiting for us! They have also stocked the kitchen with cooking essentials in case you'd like to have a meal at home, which we did. Thanks so much for a great stay!

    Beth2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was absolutely perfect! This was our first time traveling with Airbnb and the hosts were amazing! Communication was excellent. The apartment had all the necessities plus more. Highly recommend!

    Rebecca2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • I wanted to come enjoy Asheville for a quick weekend away, and Miriam's place was perfect! The hot tub was the detail that caught my eye, but there were so many details that made this a perfect spot! First off, it's only a quick 10 minute drive into town, but is far enough out to be incredibly peaceful. The only noises I noticed were the local birds and the bubble of the creek at the bottom of the hill. The rooms were spacious and gracefully decorated, and the bed was so comfortable it was hard to want to start our day! There was a well-appointed kitchen, (with bagels, oj, and coffee provided) so if you decided to stay in and cook you could easily do so (although with the nearby restaurant scene, I don't know why you would). The check in process was super easy, and we had our privacy, but I'm sure if we needed anything it would have been on hand ASAP (not that I could think of anything we'd need - it seemed like they'd thought of everything!) If you get the chance to stay here, you should take it!

    Jen2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Miriam's place. The apartment is located in the lower level of their home, in a very quiet neighborhood in Asheville. It's about 10-15 minutes to downtown but it feels like a mountain get away. The apartment was very clean, cute, well equipped and had amazing views of the forest, mountains and a stream down below. We slept very well, the king sized bed was very comfortable and Miriam even bought us bagels with cream cheese, and orange juice as a welcome gift! There were a lot of thoughtful touches throughout the apartment that made our stay feel like home. We loved it here and you will too if you visit!

    Matea2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Asheville area! Very clean, quiet and perfectly located to easily get to many area destinations! Miriam and Patrick we're incredibly easy to work with and we truly enjoyed our stay. Simply awesome!!!

    Shawn2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best stay at Miriam and Patrick's. It was the perfect mountain getaway and the best place to spend our wedding anniversary. The view and serenity was just what we needed. Everything was just as described and felt warm and welcoming. Thank you again, we can't wait to come back!

    Mckenzie2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed at Miriam's for a short time, but it was an amazing trip and we had a great introduction to Asheville. The location is beautiful and secluded, but also only 10-15 minutes from great activities and sites. We enjoyed how cozy and cute Miriam's apartment was, and the hot tub with a great view was an added bonus. During our short stay, she went the extra mile to help us out and was always available if needed. We would love to stay here again if we return to Asheville!

    Annie2017-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful experience! I have stayed at luxury hotels in Asheville many times, but this was by far one of my best stays. Miriam and Patrick have created a private, comfortable retreat perfect for those of us who really want to get away and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere. And you're still only minutes from both downtown and the Blue Ridge Parkway when you want to get out and about. Miriam and Patrick are excellent hosts who make your comfort a priority and are extremely helpful and accommodating if you need anything. At the same time, they stay out of sight and are respectful of your privacy. This apartment boasts beautiful decor with space perfect for two. The bathroom and kitchen are efficient and clean, which is something I find extremely important, and everything functions smoothly. The private deck is a favorite feature because it's a great spot to sit and plan your day over coffee. Miriam and Patrick were meticulous in renovating and decorating this space in their home and you get to sit back and enjoy it. I'm going to want to stay here every time I visit Asheville, but I know it will be hard to secure a reservation because everyone else will, too. It's too bad I can't keep it a secret!

Clean, modest 1969 mobile home on a small organic farm. Accommodates up to 4 people. Continental breakfast included. Kitchenette; private bathroom. The advantages of country life just 15 min from Asheville and 8 min from Weaverville: see birds, rabbits, turkeys and deer; enjoy great restaurants and breweries nearby. We are in the Blue Ridge mountains of beautiful Western North Carolina, so there are many opportunities for hiking, fishing, whitewater sports, or just relaxing.
Our place is in a quiet, rustic area surrounded by a few neighbors. It is on a dirt/gravel road at the bottom of a steep hill, so expect bumps along the way. It is ideal for people who like camping and are looking to unplug, since there is no Wi-Fi and cell phone reception may be spotty depending on your carrier. Also, there are fans but no A/C. The home is in a shaded area, so it stays pretty cool most of the time. The space has a queen-size bed, a full-size bed, and a queen-size air mattress that we set up for the 5th and 6th guests . If you book for 2 people, please specify if you are OK sharing or would like separate beds. In the kitchenette area, you'll have a sink, regular-sized fridge available to store your food, coffee maker, two-burner hot plate, microwave, toaster, basic pots, pans, plates, and flatware. There is also a basic bathroom with a hot shower and flush toilet. In the winter, the road to our place can get icy; you should be prepared to park at the top of the hill if your car does not have 4-wheel drive. The neighborhood has a combination of traditionally built houses and mobile homes, which is pretty common in rural Appalachia. Since it is outside of town limits, the area gets pretty dark at night: perfect for stargazing, but big-city folks may not be used to it.
Quiet, rural setting. Dirt/gravel road; expect bumps along the way. The neighborhood, which is very safe, has a combination of mobile homes and traditionally built houses. If you live in a suburban area, you may not be used to this, but it is pretty common in rural Appalachia. Conveniently close to Weaverville (quaint shops & restaurants), Asheville (breweries, restaurants, music scene, Biltmore house) and mostly everywhere in this corner of the Blue Ridge Mountains (hiking, whitewater rafting, waterfalls, horseback riding, ski resorts).
  • Clean, cheap place to stay for an overnight trip.

  • I loved the small touches: fresh wildflowers in the trailer, s'more makings in the fridge, books. As a city girl (though one who spends a lot of time in the woods), I did feel a little nervous about being out there solo. Mike assured me, though, that the neighbors are friends and I'd only hear animal sounds. He was right. It was a peaceful stay.

  • Very sweet place in the mountains next to Hot Springs!

    Marco2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy place with a very comfortable bed! Maria and Michael we're all we wanted in a host! They were quick to respond to the one small issue we had and the s'more supplies in the fridge was a lovely surprise! There place is a bit remote but that's exactly what we wanted!

    Emma2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Maria and Michael are very accommodating and friendly hosts. The weather during our stay was quite yucky so unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of the supplies they left for making s'mores in the firepit in the yard -- but we appreciated the gesture! The space is about 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, so a little bit of a trek if that's where your activities are focused. But the price per night can't be beat for a traveling duo on a budget.

    Marissa2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. A quiet retreat, but also an easy drive to downtown Asheville. Clean and neat and everything my girlfriend and I could ask for!

Welcome to our (320sf/29m) tiny home! We are 25 minutes to Asheville and 7 minutes to the quaint river town of Marshall. You’ll love our place because of the homemade character of the cabin and the natural farm setting. The mountain views and quiet solitude are perfect for couples or a single traveler. Doggies welcome too! Folks love our place as a way to un-plug in style and for it's location to major sights. Come stay in minimalist simplicity and enjoy the sunrise and starry night sky.
Rustic elegance. Our cozy cabin is two-stories tall, on top of a hill overlooking our hill and holler covered in young fruit shrubs and nut trees. On the first floor is the kitchen, small dining area and porch. Upstairs is a full-size bed and reading nook with mtn views. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, an electric burner, spices, oil, and a water heater (for coffee or tea), small fridge, and drinking water. The water system is rustic, but it works well. Fill up your own water from the spigot nearby The cabin has an outhouse a short walk away, but no shower or bath. In cold weather, there is a space heater AND a stylish wood stove for heat. There's a garden fence that doubles as a pet enclosure (Yes, your doggies are welcome!) a fire ring for enjoying the nighttime out-of-doors and 3 miles of interesting walks and steep trails around the neighborhood that we have developed. In 2018 we are planning to build an outhouse close to the cabin plus a seasonal bathhouse. People have booked our cabin for romantic getaways, for personal writing, music and spiritual retreats but mainly for it's awesome proximity to hiking and culture. Many book with us to get a feel for staying in a tiny home and for our hill's appeal for gardening enthusiasts.
The neighborhood is rich with interesting people and projects, including an artisan cheese dairy and the 'Prama Institute and Wellness Center'. Geoff is an agro-forester who has helped develop most of the trails and planted fruit and nut trees around the neighborhood. You may notice that we are building a second larger guesthouse with attached greenhouse that will be ready in Autumn of 2018. This is a great weekend getaway for people wanting to get away from the city, enjoy a taste of Asheville, read and write, or become engaged to their partner (twice happened!) Dogs are welcome and we are an affordable option to host small 50+\- person wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • This place is cozy and adorable! It is very nicely funished with a good selection of books and a lovely porch space. It was quite hot when we arrived with only a small fan which wasn't ideal; a box fan would help. Also, don't make assumptions about amenities, be aware that there is no running water in cabin and no shower. The stars are incredible there, and the family is friendly. All in all, a good stay

    Meg2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Geoffrey and Sofi's cabin was absolutely perfect for a quick weekend getaway. It is secluded and disconnected from a lot of the amenities that we are so inundated with in every day life (mainly internet and tv). It was so nice to have a break from the world and just relax with a book. As hosts, Geoffrey and Sofi were wonderful. We will definitely be back for another trip!

    Amanda2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • I loved how rustic the cabin is. The night I got in it was snowing! I enjoyed having a fire and cozying up. Walking to the outhouse in the snow was cold!! But well worth it. Can't wait to go back.

    Cole2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very quaint little cottage! They describe it well and it is in a very scenic part of the woods! Quiet and remote and great for those that are low maintenance!

    Nathan2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so cool! Earlier on our trip we tried to find a cabin in the woods near Asheville and was disappointed in it, but not this place! Every touch is perfect and they were so helpful! Highly recommend. Plus, they keep adding things, so it will only get better! I will say if you are not able bodied to check with them if it would work for you or not. Some steep paths to the cabin and short steep steps (which are great, but just wanted to include that if someone had certain handicaps). I really hope to visit again, it’s such a cool place.

    Taylor2018-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Geoff and Sofi’s place is a charming change of pace from the busy (but close by and great) City of Asheville. The cabin isn’t large, but that made it all the more agreeable for a couples stay. The views are wonderful, especially from the outhouse! If we find our way that direction again, we hope we can book again!

*Powered by solar energy* An adorable, romantic, Moroccan influenced getaway close to downtown and walking distance to West Asheville's restaurants and shops. This cottage sanctuary is truly a three-dimensional piece of art, with exquisite architecture and artistic touches. Quiet street and family neighborhood. Queen bed upstairs and single reading/sleeping loft downstairs. Three blocks to Carrier Park, two miles to the River District, and a short stroll to Owl (amazing bakery) & The Admiral
Your own cottage in the heart of East West Asheville. River Arts district is 5 minutes away by car. Unique two-story cottage built by two designers in West (Website hidden by Airbnb) looks and feels like a house you may find in Morocco or Majorca . It's only four years old , but built to look like an old villa. Heating and air conditioning, ceiling fan above bed, powered by solar energy. 100 % cotton bedding and throws are throughout the house. Walking distance to Haywood Rd. Pizza Mind, Owl Bakery, Hole Donuts, Short Street Cakes, The Apple Orchard Cider house, Walk and my favorite for dinner, The 5 star restaurant The Admiral or delicious gluten free eclectic- Bim Beri Bon. Villagers is across the street from Owl. They carry a unique selection of books on homesteading, fermenting, herbs and gardening along with interesting home goods such as local pottery and cutting boards. Two cats, Rue (gray) and Gingko (black) live on the property and sometimes wander around the cottage door looking for an ear scratch. Chickens also live on the south side of the property. Cats and dogs live in my house- the blue one.
Mostly bungalows, friendly, low key, walk big distance to Haywood Road's restaurants and Carrier Park. The Admiral, Owl Bakery, Villagers ( home goods) and Bim Beri Bon are all above average.
  • Cool cottage in the artistic end of Asheville! Quiet retreat! Great kitchen for cooking in, but excellent location for good restaurant spots.

  • My wife and I visited Asheville to celebrate our first anniversary, and the Mermaid Cottage was everything we could've hoped for. Whimsical, spacious, and private, it was located on a quiet street minutes from both downtown and the lively, unassuming West Asheville neighborhood. Camille was a very gracious host. She was always responsive and quick to provide tips for making our trip the best it could be. It's also clear she takes real pride in the Cottage. It is full of the kind of exotic charm and artistic flourishes that make you feel comfortable yet transported at the same time. A perfect complement to this beautiful city. We will definitely be back!!

    Steve2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Camille was super friendly and helpful. The mermaid cottage was absolutely gorgeous! The place is tastefully decorated and unique. It was very clean. Any guest would enjoy their stay because although it is in a quiet neighborhood; the house is also near West Asheville downtown - the more local hip area in Asheville. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Camille's cottage!

    Kasandra2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Camille was a phenomenal host and has created a quant and unique cottage. The location was just a short drive from anywhere around town. I would greatly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Asheville. I hope to make it back soon.

    Jared2016-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in this quaint little cottage! The neighborhood is great, Camille was very welcoming and it was so convenient to town!

    Christina2015-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • the mermaid cottage was truly magical! my boyfriend and I can to Asheville for my birthday and Camille's property exceeded our expectations! we didn't want to leave and will always stay there whenever we return to Asheville

    Raye-Valion2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Mermaid Cottage is amazing! Very fun, unique place to stay with everything you need to relax and enjoy your time in Asheville. The unit was very clean and separated from the rest of the house so you get some nice privacy. Great location within walking distance to a riverfront park and several restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc. Also, Camille was an excellent host. She made sure we had everything we need - great communication!

    Brian2016-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Camille's place was by far one of the best AirBnB stays we've had! Although it was only for one night, my husband and I felt instantly at home. The space is beautifully decorated, and is only a quick drive from downtown (West Asheville is walkable distance) I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to spend time in Asheville!!

A lovely 1 bed/1 full bath in W Asheville east walkable to many restaurants, cider house, and brewery. This is a chemical free apt where i don't use harsh chemicals in cleaning or in laundry. Serene location, yet close to it all. There are some essential oils used in products.
A beautifully done private one bedroom with QUEEN bed, one full bath with stained concrete flooring, 9 foot high ceilings, non-VOC paint, PVC free shower curtain, all natural Jute throw rugs (no chemical carpets!). The one bedroom can be closed for privacy from the living room/kitchen. NOTE: While I do not use chemicals in cleaning etc, if you have MCS, please contact me prior to instant booking. I cannot guarantee that you will be ok here. I've had a one MCS person stay here frequently just fine and one other who could not stay. There is also a cat that lives upstairs with me and we do share the air via AC/heat vents. There are also two very sweet semi-feral kitties that live in the garage. Please do not book if you have an extreme allergy to cats as I cannot guarantee if you'll react or not. Fully equipped kitchen (with an added microwave now) with stainless steel ware (no telfon!), pots/pans/drinking glasses/mugs organic cream, olive oil/balsamic/sea salt/pepper and a few things in fridge welcome to all. NOTE: fridge in pic has been changed to a smaller dorm sized one (with some freezer space). It has a stove, dishwasher and small mini fridge with a good sized freezer. The couch and chair are a white cotton chenille from Pottery Barn (so not synthetic). There is also an Austin Air filter (one of the best kinds) in the space and gives the added benefit of white noise if you need. (but it is very quiet here as it is). You have access to laundry (washer and dryer) in the garage which is just off your apt. There is a brand new 32" flat screen smart TV with Netflix to stream from and other kind of channels on smart TV (not cable or antennae). (note: the TV in the picture was damaged and replaced with a new 32"). In addition to the sheets and pillow cases, I also wash the duvet cover after each guests (this is so important to me when traveling) and you get (of course) many fresh towels under the sink. Most everything you need is here - including papertowels, tooth floss, cotton balls, Q tips, pens, paper etc. Extra blankets in the foot stool. I am chemically sensitive and have a hard time when I travel due to fragrance and toxic chemicals used in cleaning products and am happy to offer this to those like me (or anyone for that matter!). It is a strict rule that you also are CHEMICAL FREE while staying here. Synthetic chemicals linger for weeks and settle into furniture and this is geared for those who wish for a healthy chemical free environment. I only use green, effective, and non-toxic products in laundry, cleaning, bath and kitchen. Essential oils are ok and some of the products I offer have essential oils in them - for totally scent free products, please just request as I have these too. You will also be provided with a selection of shampoos/conditioners and other bodycare items to use - all natural (no harsh chemicals). I also provide 1 gallon of filtered water for your stay to get you started before you can get to the store if you only drink filtered water, granola bars, and organic coffee and tea and a bottle of red. The apt is in the lower half of my house and is a private and complete living space - the stairs that connect are not used - doors stayed locked and shut. I live upstairs and practically tip toe when I walk - so you don't get much if any overhead noise. This is a quiet place with no road noise...only the sounds of birds ! While it's officially a basement apt, it doesn't feel that way as the ceiling are high and you have windows with great sun. The apt is not "underground".
I love this neighborhood due to its country feel, but within walking distance to many things.
  • Very positive 1st experience with AirBnB. Quiet tranquil location.

    John2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's place is very clean, comfortable and up-to-date with wifi, appliances kitchen and bath. A big bonus is she is focused on providing a very non-toxic environment for her guests which we really appreciated. Her place is very centrally located which makes getting around Asheville to restaurants, shopping and nightlife easy. We also had easy access to surrounding areas for hiking, biking, etc. Highly recommend!

    Kim2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Probably the best airbnb experience we have had! Susan was so sweet and accommodating and even baked us fresh healthy blueberry muffins! The apt felt like home away from home and had everything we could possibly need and we were sad to leave. The apt was so cozy and decorated very nice and modern and was in a perfect location. And the bed was the most comfortable bed I think I've ever slept in! We also loved watching the birds enjoy the feeder outside the kitchen window. We would definitely come back to Susan's apartment if In Asheville again.

    Megan2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great, secluded place in West Asheville. Very quaint and spotless!

    Lana2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's place is exactly as advertised. Pretty centrally located and a very short hop to all the destinations that we wanted to visit in our two day there. Our place was clean, spacious, and welcoming. Would DEFINITELY stay again.

    Hendrick2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice stat, clean, smelled nice, host was thoughtful and considerate.

    Mitch2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Susan gave us all the information any traveler would need -- directions to the apartment, where to park, what to expect upon arrival, guides for activities, food, breweries, surrounding area -- I could go on, but needless to say she was extremely helpful and very responsive. The apartment was beautiful, great natural light and quiet surroundings. We loved sitting on the front porch listening to the birds and enjoying the complimentary wine :) We only met Susan briefly but she gave us a dinner recommendation that ended up being the best food we had all weekend -- Smoky Park Supper Club

    Claire2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We met Susan on arrival and she made us feel welcome. She also helped us out with directions to local shops etc. The listing was just as described on Airbnb which was perfect. Right at the end of a quiet semi-forested area. The only bit of noise was from main house above us especially in the late evenings.

This cozy room has a comfortable queen-sized bed, a private bathroom, and your own entrance. Walkable to Downtown and the River Arts District. Very close to the Biltmore Estate and West Asheville. Easy parking. People of Color & white people welcome; LGBTQ & straight friendly. Dogs too, but not on the bed. (Read our pet policy below!)
Simple, clean and comfy w/ queen-sized bed, private bath, good shower, fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, & wireless internet. Breakfast is on your own, but why eat in your room when Foodtopia awaits you? We are LGBTQ and straight friendly. People of Color and white people are welcome. Our home is an urban micro-farm in the making and a land partner in Patchwork Urban Farms. (We’ve prioritize cultivating pollinator habitat and building soil over manicuring a lawn). We are an easy walk or bike to the River Arts District (less than 1/2 mile) and Downtown (1/2 mile to Southslope, then another few blocks to Pritchard Park). It's downhill all the way home from downtown :) You can bike to West Asheville (less than 2 miles) or UNCA (about 3 miles). We're also really close to Biltmore Village and the entrance to the Biltmore Estate (less than 2 miles). Pet friendly for dogs with well-behaved humans (**see notes below re: dogs). Dogs count as an EXTRA guest. (So if there are two humans and one dog that's three guests altogether.) We love Asheville & love to help others love it too. We're happy to offer guidance and suggestions or to leave you to have your own experience. Check out our guidebook for this listing. Our place is simple and affordable but with the added bonus of a private bath and private entrance. You will be welcome and comfortable here. (**A note for visitors with dogs: I love dogs. Absolutely love 'em. I don't provide a crate, and your dog cannot be on the bed. Yes, I will know. If your dog has never stayed in a crate before this won't be a good place to get him or her used to it. Try it at home first. I prefer you not leave your dog here while you're gone. They tend to feel stressed in a strange place, hearing strange noises. So please be prepared to take your dog with you when you go out. Asheville is a very dog-friendly town. Lot's of places with outdoor seating and a few that allow dogs inside. When you arrive there will likely be a moment of excitement when your dog meets our dog, Minnie. Expect barking and sniffing. It's a good idea to let your dog have a walk across the street after traveling and the excitement of meeting another dog in a new place. Thanks!)
The South French Broad neighborhood is on the south-west fringes of downtown so it's easy to get most anywhere in Asheville. I love the urban stream right across the street, the proximity to the river and how it's perfectly situated to be a leading area for urban sustainability and urban agriculture.
  • This was a great price for a night in Asheville. Enjoyed talking with our hosts.

    Danny2013-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here. The house is in a great location and Michelle was extremely accommodating.

    Charlie2015-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle was very accommodating and welcoming! She was flexible with our unpredictable arrival and gave us a cozy and comfortable place to stay. She had a lovely home and we were very lucky to be so close to downtown! Thanks so much, Michelle!

    Kailey2015-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • I highly enjoyed staying at Michele's house:-) the room and bed were very comfy, and after a harrowing drive from Savannah; with hurricane Joaquin at my back bumper, (!!!) I landed with a sweet welcoming host, took a hot bath, climbed into soft yummy sheets, and had an amazingly restorative sleep:-)

    Cynthia2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely convenient location, clean, warm, and cozy room, and kind hosts. Michelle and Bobby are extremely friendly and helpful, yet gave us great privacy. Staying in their home for the weekend was like having our own apartment, could not have asked for anymore.

    Thomas2013-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to lay our heads after a night of fun in Asheville. Michelle was very friendly and eager to recommend places to see and things to do in Asheville. The price is right for the location and amenities. It was a little warm that night, but once we figured out the ceiling fan we got comfortable. Would recommend this for the value and the convenience!

    Kristin2013-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kristian and I enjoyed staying at Bobby & Michelle's. The location was great for the wedding we attended, with the reception being just a half mile away. They were very accommodating when we had to bring our dog at the last minute. Daisy enjoyed sniffing Minnie and taking walks down the street. Thanks again for a great stay!

    Meghan2013-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Adequate. We would probably look for an alternative if we returned to Asheville. Clean. Coffee makings were provided upon request. Room is quite small; only place to sit is on the bed. Hosts certainly friendly and well-intentioned. Not only is there no breakfast, there is no reasonable, accessible place to get breakfast. Hosts' suggested breakfast place is in the middle of downtown, very popular with long waiting times.

Meandering down Cumberland or Montford Ave simply to admire each unique home is a favorite pastime of locals & visitors alike. After 10 years in Asheville, I still love soaking in the unique history of each expertly designed property.

  • Loved this place! So close to downtown but was in such a quiet and peaceful area of Asheville. Definitely worth revisiting!

    Jordan2018-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful views!! Easy Check In! Close to downtown. Really clean and has good energy.

    Brittany2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The location was great and a nice space, very modern with most everything you'd need in a place. There was no cable (which was stated) and even though it was a smart TV it only had Air cable channels that would go in and out of reception and wouldn't stream anything from our mobile devices despite multiple attempts. It is a bit noisy with foot steps and barking dogs during the day and evening from above. The bed and couch are really firm, which I like but is a personal preference. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

    Bryana2017-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • This space is beautiful and in a great neighborhood. Lots of color, trendy touches and a clean, inviting space. The hosts have a couple growlers and beer classes for guests to bring back some local Asheville brews and enjoy on their beautiful deck. We were only staying one night, but I'd definitely come back for a longer stay!

    Nikki2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome comfy bed, great shower, very good coffee—really high marks on the essentials! Neighborhood was amazing with enormous trees, winding roads and even a cool treehouse within view! Love Tod’s Tasties nearby! Due to very wet weather, the path down the side yard to the rear apt. was a bit muddy (not anyone’s fault, just didn’t want to track mud inside).

One bedroom, one bath private basement apartment in beautiful mountain home. Private entrance, incredible views and tons of outdoor space including fire pit.
Finished basement apartment. The bedroom has a queen bed, cedar lined closet and vanity closet with sink. There is no window in the bedroom. Some people really like having a very dark bedroom, for others it can be unsettling. Both the kitchen and the bathroom do have windows. The laundry room has washer and dryer that you are welcome to use, along with a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and toaster. This kitchen is not set up for heavy duty cooking (no pots and pans, stove top or oven) but it gets the job done for casual meals or reheating leftovers. Dishes are provided. The bathroom is small but has excellent water pressure. Please note that there is no internet or cell reception indoors, although you can get a clear signal outside. There is a tv with a dvd player and movies, no cable. Also note that you must walk through my garage to get into the basement apartment. The house has beautiful views and loads of space to roam. There's an outdoor fire pit that you are more than welcome to use, and hammocks for lounging in the summer. Very private location that feels like you're far out in the woods but you're really only minutes from Asheville and Black Mountain.
The best thing about this neighborhood is that there isn't really one! The house is fairly secluded but still only a short drive to Asheville or Black Mountain. The roads close to my home are very windy, so you may want to add a few minutes to your expected commute if you're not used to mountain roads.
  • My wife and I stayed at Ellie's apartment for a weekend get away. The place was great! The bed was comfortable, the atmosphere was amazing and everything that we needed was provided for us. I especially liked how dark the room was since there were no windows. The directions that Ellie gave us were great and she was very responsive. This was our first experience with Airbnb, and we will definitely look to stay at her place again the next time we are in Asheville.

  • Recommend you spend a day exploring around the house. Very peaceful and relaxing, specially when its foggy.

    Luis2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie's place was great! She has an amazing property with beautiful scenery. Made us feel right at home. The room is perfect for those who love to sleep in.

    Brendan2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place. The location was beautiful and our room was great. There are no windows (as it is a basement room), which made it easy to sleep! Ellie was great, left detailed instructions and is very welcoming! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay close to Asheville. We were only a few miles from downtown, but the location was nice and secluded. It was perfect!

    Jenn2016-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie was a great host! The mountain house was beautiful and cozy. The basement apartment had everything you needed and check-in/check-out was super easy!

    Marie-Gabrielle2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very quiet and beautiful. It can be a bit scary to drive there at night as there is little street light. The room is nicely decorated and very comfortable. Although I didn't get to meet Ellie in person, she communicated well through the app.

    Ray2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • It is a simple space, but cozy. It is surrounded by beautiful hills and nature. Ellie provided quick responses whenever I had any questions. The description of the space was accurate, with no unpleasant surprises. Thank you Ellie!

    Butterbean2017-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie was super sweet and the bedroom was very cozy. We enjoyed being completely offline.

If you are looking for a secluded mountain getaway this is not the place but if you looking to be in the heart of downtown festivities then our loft is the perfect place for you. Our loft has local art, full window view of College St., high ceilings, exposed brick. We are right in the center of all of the downtown action. Downtown is lively especially at night where you can enjoy craft cocktails, amazing food and live music.
Luxury 1 bedroom loft located in the heart of downtown Asheville
Downtown Asheville is energetic and we are right in the center of the action! Lots of cool spaces to explore, amazing restaurants and nightlife. We are across the street from Table and Imperial Life, which features a Friday late night Hip Hop Dance party. We are two doors down from the One Stop/Asheville Music Hall which stays open late and features funk, reggae, and rock. Old time, bluegrass, celtic, rock, symphony, African drumming, trad jazz, modern jazz, gypsy, singer-songwriters and eclectic street performers are a stone's throw from here as well. Award winning restaurants including sushi, Indian (north or south), Korean, Italian, BBQ, Southern, vegan, charcuterie, farm-to-table, pizza, Spanish, gluten free, French, Chinese, Ethiopian, Himalayan, bakeries, coffee houses, tea, four chocolateries, twelve breweries (and counting…) and food trucks galore. Art galleries feature openings every weekend in downtown and nearby and keep daytime business hours to explore artists from the area and from afar.
  • We enjoyed our stay at the loft in downtown Asheville. The place was in a great location where all the restaurants and bars were within walking distance. The loft was updated, clean, and had everything you could need! Wonderful experience and we would recommend staying here.

    Mike2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Krista's place is perfectly located. We walked everywhere we wanted to go to dine and have drinks. The loft is beautiful and has absolutely everything you need.

    Jacob2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for exploring city, dining, and shopping. Everything was perfect and went as smoothly as it possibly could have! Would definetly stay here again.

    Robbie2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This loft was the perfect place for a girls' weekend here with my sisters (we are in our 40s). We loved both the location and the loft itself, which was clean and comfortable. It was a perfect home base as we enjoyed our weekend in downtown Asheville. Krista was responsive from beginning to end and paid attention to all the details that made it such an easy transaction and experience. My only word of wisdom to potential renters is that you are in town so you will have city noises until very late in the evening, especially on the weekend (we stayed Friday and Saturday night). Thank you so much Krista!!

    Debbie2014-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a cool place and a perfect location for exploring downtown Asheville! Very comfortable and well stocked. Unique loft setting. We did hear noise from the bar downstairs but used the white noise machine provided and it really didn't bother us at all. Especially comfy bed.

    Deborah2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! This is such a cool and unique place to stay right in the middle of downtown! It was the perfect size for my husband, me, and our dog. It was clean and comfortable! Easy check in and out. Totally recommend this place for a fun trip to Asheville!

    Kaitlin2016-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing stay at this loft. It felt like it was built right before we came - everything was impeccably clean, dishes and appliances all felt brand new. The bed was crazy comfy! We had no trouble sleeping because of noise, we closed the doors and turned on the noise machine for good measure and it felt like we were sleeping in a cave! The location is amazing, everything is out your front door. I wish the loft was our permanent home, it was so hard to leave.

    Meredith2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, the loft was exactly as described, Asheville is a wonderful town with lots to offer. We we're able to walk everywhere (which is key because driving in Asheville is pretty frustrating) and had lots of great options for food, beer, and shopping.

  • Randy's space was perfect! It was close to Asheville, yet far enough to feel private! His home was clean, super cute, packed with small touches like coffee and supplies for smores and by far one of the most comfortable beds Ive ever slept in. I would highly recommend this gem!

Experience the best that Black Mountain has to offer from this unique one of a kind experience! This quaint living space is directly above a little food market and cafe and overlooks a beautiful garden and greenhouse. Only steps away from the heart of Black Mountain and a fifteen-minute drive to downtown Asheville, you will have all of your travel needs met. Wake up every morning to be greeted by the beauty of the garden
This is truly a one of a kind AirBnB experience in the area. Come stay with us and explore the beauty of our studio, market, cafe, and garden in the heart of Black Mountain! What really makes this place unique is the location and the business, the Roots and Fruits Market. Being above a market and the outside cafe overlooking a garden, It's a magic place to be! Lots of great things happen here such as the food and juice truck that's outside, Sunday brunch (April-October)with live music, watching the garden grow and be harvested, enjoy watching the chickens, interacting with people, or just walk around the garden (of course, seasonally that is). The market is open 7 days a week so you will see people around the market area if you choose to. A complimentary farmhouse breakfast and coffee(1 breakfast/juice/smoothie item and 1 coffee per guest and per stay,) are included with the stay. During the peak season (April through December) we serve breakfast and lunch, juices, and smoothies from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m Monday through Sunday, closed on Wednesday. Winter Hours for the cafe are Fri-Mon 10a.m.-3p.m(Nov-Apr). For those guests who stay during the week when the cafe is closed, we provide coffee, eggs, toast, and jam for guests to make themselves. Schedule may vary due to holidays and weather. We want people to feel relaxed and comfortable with everything you may need to start the day off right! . The studio is unique based on the colors of the rooms and cozy layout of the floor plan! This space includes a living room, kitchenette, bathroom, bath tub, and bedroom. We like to think this place is perfect for a couple, a solo traveler, and a group of friends who don't mind sharing space. The bedroom is a short walk away from the kitchenette and does not have a closable door for full privacy from guests who are interested in sharing the studio with two or more.
We are located right in the heart of downtown Black Moutain. Easy walk to great restaurants, bars, music, and gift shops.
  • Kyle's place is really cozy and comfortable. It is within walking distance to cute shops, coffee, restaurants, and everything you need! The cafe and store below the apt were wonderful. Including breakfast was such a treat! We will definitely be back!

    Mollye2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's place is such a great spot! Comfortable accommodations with easy walking distance to downtown Black Mountain. Everyone we interacted with at the store was as nice as can be. We'll definitely try to stay here again for future visits. Thank you again Kyle!

    Tyler2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's place was a perfect fit for us! We were on a two-day vacation before our first baby arrives in the fall. Black Mountain is cute and charming and the little studio apartment was cozy, clean and within walking distance of everything downtown. Both breakfast's we had were outstanding, and Kyle was really helpful with other restaurant recommendations! This is a wonderful getaway spot.

    Kathleen2016-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • The absolute ideal Airbnb experience! Very cozy place with cabin-ey feel, amazing location for hiking, yoga, tea, and Asheville visits, and also very convenient access to parking and food (the hosts own a market downstairs). The hosts were very kind, just like everyone else in the area, and they were very responsive/helpful with all of our needs. Would absolutely recommend this place - in fact, we are hoping to return for another stay in the future!!

    Joe2016-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was undoubtedly our best Airbnb experience to date. It cozy and clean, and easy walking distance to downtown Black Mountain. Thanks Kyle!

    Anne2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed immediately and they were very helpful! Kyle suggested some wonderful things to visit (Lookout Trail was a huge hit!) and he was very nice and friendly! It was a beautiful quaint store and farm, that was a super refreshing place to rest. We missed brunch because it was Mother's Day weekend (our fault, we hadn't checked!) and most places in the area were closed that day. Thankfully, they had well stocked the refrigerator with local foods and we were able to cook up a great breakfast!

    Kyra2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's garden apartment is magical! He is so friendly and fun and has a lovely market downstairs, a nice big garden, and a bunch of chickens. The space where we stayed was really unique and cozy, very clean, and perfect for our needs. The location is great. Despite it's small size, the kitchen had everything we needed, and Kyle provided us with eggs, granola, toast, butter/jam, coffee, and tea. The only downside was the train that came by a couple of times at night...wasn't a big deal for us, but might bother others. I loved it and hope to be back!

    Renee2016-03-15T00:00:00Z

Brand new log cabin cottage in the heart of Apple Country! Located 20 minutes from downtown Hendersonville and 25-30 minutes from Asheville. This cozy cabin sits about half-way up Banks Mountain with beautiful views and peaceful nature surroundings.
Adanvdo (Cherokee for "heart" or "spirit") was built out of an inspiration to share the beautiful mountain on which I live. Built with the "tiny home" concept in mind, it provides everything one could want in a cabin while only taking up a 300 sq. footprint. There is a custom-made Murphy bed with a queen Casper mattress for great sleeping, and a loft with a double mattress for children or an extra guest. A small closet with hanging bar sits beside the murphy bed. All bed and bathroom linens are provided. An additional loft sits above the front porch where you can store your luggage and other gear. The cabin is furnished and decorated for comfort, warmth, and charm. For those with chemical sensitivities, I clean and wash linens with Norwex products which are chemical and scent-free. There is a fully furnished kitchen with a 5 cu. ft. refrigerator (bigger than your typical hotel refrigerator), a 2 burner ceramic stove, and a toaster/convection oven. A new gas grill sits on the back deck to give you more cooking options. There is a 3 seat bar in the kitchen area for eating and food preparation. I keep the kitchen stocked with some condiments, teas, and coffee. All you need is a bag of groceries! A flat screen TV is mounted in the kitchen area on a swivel arm for easy viewing from the living area or the kitchen bar. I don't have cable TV here on the mountain, so I have provided a DVD collection for movie time. Step outside of the French Doors onto the back deck with access to a hot tub, nice rockers to soak in the view, a gas grill for a BBQ, and a fire pit area below the deck with a beautiful hand-made log bench. My home is next door, but I am a quiet person (who works) and you will be given the utmost privacy. I have recently rescued a Beagle/Walker mix dog who is very friendly but cannot go outside of my yard due to an invisible fence. If you wish to pet him, please come all the way onto my sidewalk and he will be happy to give you some kisses :) He is only out when I'm home.
Adanvdo is conveniently located only 10-15 minutes from access to Hwy. 26 and 15-20 minutes from quaint downtown Hendersonville. Traveling north you can reach the Biltmore Estate in 30 minutes, as well as eclectic downtown Asheville with lots of great eats! Traveling east you can reach Chimney Rock in 30 minutes as well as Lake Lure. For adventurers, head south to Saluda and the Green River for zip-lining and whitewater rafting! Every direction is filled with tons of great hiking in and around state and national forests. The cabin is also only 25 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  • My husband and I spent our honeymoon at this lovely cabin and it was perfect for us ! quaint and so so well organized ! we loved our time and we loved dana ! she is a great host and pays fully attention to the details !

    Hannah2016-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • First off, Dana is a great host. She lives next door, but gives you complete privacy. We had to text her to come over because we wanted to meet her and only had one more day at the cabin. Our stay was for five nights. The cabin is a tiny house concept, and the space was very thought out. There was ample room to store our luggage and put our things away. We stayed there as a family of four(mom, dad, and two daughters age 4 and 8). Dana provided all the little things that were needed. The view on the backyard deck is great, with two rocking chairs and a hot tub provided. There is also a nicely landscaped area with a fire pit, but we ran out of time before we were able to use it. We definitely recommend Dana's cabin. She's a great host.

    Mon2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • We were amazed as we pulled in with how cute the cabin was. It was stocked with everything possible and Dana gave us such privacy. The hot tub at night under the stars topped it off. Close to a lot of trails and beautiful mountains. Wish we could come again soon!

    Tatiana2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Dana and her little cabin in the woods are wonderful! We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin is in a beautiful location and the cabin itself is lovely. It's stocked with everything you need to make a meal at home and to make your stay comfortable. It's close to many great hiking spots. It's also close enough to Asheville to go out and grab dinner yet far enough away from the city to see the stars at night. Ending our long days of hiking in the hot tub made our experience even better than I expected. Thank you, Dana! We loved our stay!

    Jenny2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a great little cabin up in the mountain. Not a far drive from town and comes with everything you need. Plus Dana is possible the best host you will have on this site. Highly recommend it. Can't wait to go back!!

    Brooks2017-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Little Cabin! Communication with Dana was efficient and easy, and the cabin was just as charming as in the pictures. The little touches that greeted us on our arrival, like towels for the hot tub and a bag of coffee to brew in the mornings, were so thoughtful. We enjoyed looking through her guest guide for suggestions on sights to see and places to eat. Easy drive to Hendersonville, and not too far from Asheville either. It's clear that Dana enjoys hosting and works hard to ensure that guests have a wonderful, charming stay. Can't wait to go back!

    Samantha2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Dana's cabin and truly a never to forget experience. The cabin is extremely adorable and so cleverly put together - all the little things you could ever need, she has it in the house! The amenities from the grill, firepit to hot tub really made the stay so much more enjoyable and not to mention, extremely romantic! I can't express how clean everything was and what a delightful 3 nights we had. Dana was extremely helpful and friendly, and while she does live close next door, she respects her visitors privacy. You won't even notice she's there! Thank you for having us!!

    Kristine2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Relaxing stay at Dana's little cabin. We really enjoyed this get away for our anniversary. The mountain views are incredible all throughout the area. We drove to craggy gardens for a short hike (very easy) if you're not the most experienced of hikers, like us! everything was very clean inside and outside the cabin. Since it's a little bit of a drive into town, I would recommend bringing snacks or breakfast food so that you can stay and relax, she has everything there to cook a full meal (but we only made a light breakfast there). She also has coffee and a coffee maker. We went to tupelo honey cafe, and homegrown (both of which were wonderful, southern, home cooked meals). Overall, this Was the perfect get away! I would highly recommend and look forward to going back!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our quick stay at Brett’s place. The studio was clean, had all the necessary amenities (toiletries, hair dryer, coffee, etc). We were able to walk downtown to several local restaurants and breweries in under 10 minutes but the studio area was nice and quiet at night. Brett was exceptionally responsive and accommodating leading up to and during our stay. He gave us fantastic recommendations as well - dinner at Curate and mountain biking at Bent Creek were a highlight. Would highly recommend and would certainly stay again!

    Steph2018-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brett’s place exceeded our expectations! His attention to details were spectacular. Everything we needed was easily available. We were pleasantly surprised to have such a comfortable tempurpedic bed! We sure hope that Brett’s place will be available for our next Asheville trip!

    Liz2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Brett was very quick to respond and was very helpful in navigating the area for a first timer to Asheville. The House is within walking distance of plenty of bars/restaurants, but still in a residential neighborhood. I left a few personal items upon checkout and Brett went above and beyond to help return them to me. Overall, I had a great experience at Brett's place.

    Matt2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Easy walk to downtown and all the breweries/restaurants. Very clean, and has everything you need and then some. Very comfortable. Was easy to find. Brett also gives some great recommendations for first timers to the area.

    Brian2018-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Brett's place was a nice and quiet place to stay, very close an easy walk to downtown. Very comfortable bed, and your own private nice little place to stay, with everything you would need! I was impressed with how quiet it was being so close to downtown Asheville.

    Shannon2018-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Brett's place is fantastic. You can't beat the location - a short, easy walk and you're in the heart of gorgeous, downtown Asheville. The studio is very nicely appointed. Brett has seemingly thought of everything to make a guest's stay very comfortable. We only stayed one night, but we will definitely look to book his studio when we visit Asheville again.

    Robert2018-05-25T00:00:00Z

Bent Creek's watershed contains a collection of trails for all kinds of hikes, for those suitable to beginners and families to those more amenable to advanced hiking groups. Most of the easier trails are clustered around Lake Powhatan, where several loop trails - Deerfield Loop, Pine Tree Loop, and Explorer Loop (in order of increasing difficulty) make nice, short family hikes. LONGER & MORE DIFFICULT: More difficult trails on the north side of BENT CREEK GAP Road include Sidehill, Lower Sidehill, and Little Hickory Top. Connecting trails make loops of various difficulty possible on this side of the road. Sleepy Gap is a trail with a more decent climb on Bent Creek's south side, and its upper portion is hiking only as it reaches up to a Blue Ridge Parkway overlook. Caution should always be exercised around the falls. EXPERIENCE FALL IN ASHEVILLE In early fall head to higher elevations above 5,000 feet. In mid-fall peak color lights up spots in the 3,000 to 4,000-foot range. In late fall, lower elevation spots at less than 2,000 feet are your best bet. BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY & MOUNTAINS FALL COLOR FORECAST (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Leaf peepers ask: “When is peak color?” The great news is that we usually have many weeks of autumn color in our mountains and foothills. Find the areas of best color by driving the Blue Ridge Parkway or other scenic roads up and down the ridges. Elevation is the biggest factor for time of color change. An early frost speeds up the color change and warm weather prolongs it. Below is our prediction. PEAK FOLIAGE COLOR TIMELINE (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) SEPTEMBER Last Week: 6,000+ feet elevation: Many high ridges like Mount Mitchell have spotty color, while these two lofty places along the Parkway usually have the most early color: Rough Ridge at Grandfather Mountain and Graveyard Fields. OCTOBER First Week: Above 5,000 feet elevation. The leaves in the highest mountains north of Asheville turn first, especially on the Parkway north of Craggy Gardens and Beech Mountain. South on the Parkway, head to Waterrock Knob and Black Balsam areas. Hike & picnic atop both Max Patch. OCTOBER Second Week: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) feet elevation. Best colors really pick up steam, including Mount Pisgah and Devil's Courthouse areas south on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The mountains surrounding Waynesville and Cashiers peak, including Whiteside Mountain with the Shadow of the Bear. Also, see colorful highest ridges of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and drive the Cherohala Skyway. Camp at Lake Santeetlah. OCTOBER Third Week: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) feet elevation. The ultimate week for the most color including large sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This also includes much of Pisgah National Forest near Brevard. Drive the Forest Heritage Scenic Byway. Top hikes there include Looking Glass Rock or Cradle of Forestry. North of Asheville, best color will be Banner Elk and hikes to Table Rock and Hawksbill Mountain at Linville Gorge. West of Asheville, head to Maggie Valley, Cherokee and Bryson City. OCTOBER Last Week: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) feet elevation. The city of Asheville, French Broad River and Biltmore Estate show their best color, along with many of our small towns including Sylva and Saluda. It's a great time for a waterfall hike in DuPont State Forest or a stroll at the NC Arboretum. Milepost 316.3 - Linville Falls: See one of the most photographed waterfalls in the eastern USA from five viewpoints along wooded hikes in Pisgah National Forest. Milepost 355.4 - Mt Mitchell: Drive to the top of the highest peak in the eastern USA and see the 360-degree views from the top. While color up top peaks early October, the views into the valley will be colorful through mid October. Milepost 364.4 - Craggy Gardens: See views from the Visitor Center, have a mile-high picnic and hike trails to the balds with spectacular views. Craggy Pinnacle has one of our favorite views along the Parkway. Milepost 382 - Folk Art Center: Stop here to see creations from hundreds of the best artists in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Watch artists at work, see several exhibitions and do some early Christmas shopping in their fabulous store. Milepost 407.6 - Mt Pisgah & Pisgah Inn: Expect big crowds here during October, with everyone vying for a window table at 5,000 feet elevation. Shop in their gallery, camp, picnic and hike to the top of Mt. Pisgah. Tip: Wait times for the restaurant often run an hour or more on busy days. Grab your pager first and then browse the gift shop or enjoy the views from their outdoor deck. Milepost 417 - Looking Glass Rock Overlook: See the iconic stone face, along with many mountain ridges. From the overlook, hike just a half mile to Skinny Dip Falls' idyllic setting with multiple cascades. Milepost 418.8 - Graveyard Fields: This super popular hiking spot on the Blue Ridge Parkway usually has the most brilliant and earliest fall colors (first week in October). Take short hike to gorgeous Lower Falls or hike through the mile-high meadow. Milepost 420.2, Black Balsam Knob Hike: This local's favorite trail across multiple balds is one of most spectacular hikes in the North Carolina mountains. Expect many people here, so arrive early or visit midweek for smaller crowds. It's an epic picnic and camping spot.
Homeland Park is a neighborhood built as a resort community of about 70 close by log cabins during the 1930s. It offers handcrafted log cabins and cottages each with unique and special characteristics still present, reminding visitors that this uncommon place is indeed one of Asheville’s treasures. These cabins hold fast to their heritage of a time gone by. This area will charm as you meander through its tree lined streets of oaks and dogwoods, listening to the song birds. Today it is a terrific rental destination or temporary home while relocating. Everything is easy access.
  • This is such a charming place to stay. We kept commenting on it throughout our time there. It is cozy and and very comfortable. The hosts did an amazing job anticipating our every need. The personal touches they had prepared in preparation for our arrival made us feel welcome and at home. I almost don't want to share how much we enjoyed our stay because I want it to be available in the future when we return!

  • I stayed in Lori's cabin for two weeks for a training in town and loved it! Lori met me there and showed me around and was very helpful. She was very easy to reach when I had questions and very kind. And the location was great! Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, close to Whole Foods and close to down town. The neighborhood was really quite and had such character. Everything in the cabin was clean and comfortable. I am definitely going back.

    Huda2015-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time at this cozy cabin. Lori was there to greet us and give us instructions, plus she had homemade rum cake and local beers to get our adventure started. The pictures were accurate and downtown was so convenient. Would definitely stay here again!

    Jen2015-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We immediately felt very welcome upon our arrival. We we treated with a rum cake, a sampling of local beer, and upbeat jazz played in the background for ambience. The location felt private enough but nestled in a cozy community–a perfect balance. It was also convenient to everything we wanted to see and do.

  • My boyfriend and I had a nice stay in the Asheville cabin. It was very clean and cozy and Lori and Lizzie were very welcoming. Having two cold beers ready upon arrival was a nice treat after a long drive. I do find $150 in fees a bit much, considering the cleaning requests before check-out, when paying a $50 cleaning fee. Overall, very nice getaway that's close to town.

    Tyler2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lori and Lizzie were fantastic hosts. They were very friendly and accommodating, and provided many suggestions for our short stay. The cottage was very comfortable and clean, and a short ride into town. We'd love to come back!

    Gregory2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin! It's so cozy and conveniently located to a lot of area attractions. We loved our stay!

    Leslie2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lori and Lizzie were incredible hosts- very responsive before and during our stay. They did everything possible to make sure we were comfortable, including staying up until almost midnight the night of our arrival to wait for our text that we arrived and got into the cabin. The cabin itself was rustic and cozy, but had every necessary modern amenity. We didn't get to spend a ton of time at the cabin because there was so much to do around the city, but it was a great place to come back to at night. It was a bit inconvenient, being about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown (which we knew going into it), but overall was a great place to stay. Thanks Lori & Lizzie!

We think our house is pretty special, but luckily you don't have to take our word for it, Architectural Digest recently chose it as the most beautiful Airbnb in North Carolina (Website hidden by Airbnb) Set in the serene and beautiful Riceville Valley, we are also just 12 minutes from downtown Asheville (or Black Mountain) and 5 to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The photos are better than any description we can give but the house is minimalist and modern while also being warm and inviting. Custom kitchen with concrete countertops, stunning views from every room.
Quiet and tranquil but close to town.
  • Great modern place with amazing views and lots of space. It was a fairly quick trip (about 20 mins) to get into downtown. Very clean and updated. John and Carla were super responsive and helpful. I'm planning on a return trip in the summer!

  • What an unbelievable property- it's truly one-of-a-kind, and so much more lovely knowing it was hand built with such care. We absolutely loved staying here and would love to come back. The property is a short and scenic drive into Asheville- convenient for hiking the area and for shopping/eating. We were impressed with how clean and updated the home is and how interesting/cool the interior decorating choices are. John and Carla were wonderful hosts! So helpful and clear on directions/instructions... it made our stay stress free. We'd highly recommend!

  • Our stay was fantastic and exactly what we were looking for! My associate photographer and I went to Asheville for an inspirational work trip outside of Atlanta. The speedy internet was appreciated and mountain views were inspirational! Not to mention, the space has awesome amenities (especially the showers!). There was fresh ground coffee waiting for us, too! We loved every second and hope to go back!

The (!) view (!) from (!) this (!) house (!) I'll never be able to shower the same again - panoramic views of the mountains.

    Andy2016-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • We truly enjoyed our stay here. The view was indeed great and only 10-15 minutes from downtown. Only downside was that we could not stay longer. :)

    Glenn2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful modern home, gorgeous views. We spent so much time admiring the craftsmanship and the unique details of the house. It had snowed and the views were astonishing. John was an excellent host, and we really appreciated that he stayed in contact over the course of our trip. So glad we got the chance to stay here, and we hope to be back soon.

    Allison2017-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • THE.VIEW. Just stunning really, and the house is a perfect complement to the surroundings (I confess I would love to live there). And although the view makes you feel that all that nature is just for you, it’s only minutes to the grocery store and a few more to downtown Asheville. Fabulous!

The downstairs had every convenience we needed, so efficiently laid out. We just loved staying there! We've already recommended the Bird's Nest to friends in the area.

  • This cottage is the perfect place to stay and explore Asheville! It feels very quiet and secluded, but is only about a 15 minute walk to anywhere you want to go downtown. The room is small but was perfect for a couple and had everything we needed (and a very comfortable bed). Brett was also extremely helpful and provided great recommendations of things to do and places to eat. We would definitely stay here again!

    Sara2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at Brett's spot. We got a little confused with which door to go in, but he was quick to answer and we would have been fine if we had read the email more closely! We walked downtown from the apartment and it was a safe walk, about 10-15 minutes. He also had a beer, some chocolate, a water bottle, and coffee for us! It was a great stay!

  • amazing house. great location. 8 of us fit upstairs no problem! asheville is a great little city!

  • Host was awesome, even though they were on travel they had someone stop by to make sure everything was working properly (e.g., heating). The house is not too "baby friendly" but we traveled with baby gates and got creative with fruitier arrangements.

  • Great location (walking distance to good resturants, awesome bakery and butcher shop), easy access to downtown... House was simple but equipped with everything you need. Manley was very welcoming and attentive. Made our families (7 month old and a dog) stay very easy. thanks for the great weekend!

    Geoffrey2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Manley's house. Basically you have your own house on the second floor with 2 spacious bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with one ensuite, a kitchen and large living room with fireplace and tv. It's very close to downtown in a quiet wooded neighborhood close to coffee shops & restaurants within a 5 minute walk. If you're doing any hiking in the blue ridge there's a shortcut at the end of the block. Manly immediately took care of anything we needed and answered any questions about the area. We'd stay there again when coming back to Asheville, it's quiet, relaxing, and close to everything.

  • We rented the entire upstairs apartment from Manley for a lovely wedding weekend in Asheville. The entire bridal party stayed at Manley's and all of us had a great time! There was plenty of room for the 7 of us to have our own space when we wanted some quiet time but each room was big enough that all of us could comfortably lounge together while we caught up. Manley kept the apartment cool even though the weekend was much hotter than is typical for late May. He also was on top of providing extra towels and supplies when we needed them, without being asked. He is a wonderful host and it was a pleasure staying in such a centrally located place. We woke up every morning hearing the birds singing and we felt like we were in a tree house in the mountains. Thanks again Manley!

    Elise2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Manley was very welcoming, friendly and willing to offer help to make our stay in Asheville great. The space was large and charming, and the neighborhood seemed safe and quiet. We were able to walk the town and to other hotels where we had friends staying. I think this listing was newer when we booked, and while we were there Manley was discussing all the improvements he had made and his future plans, which sound terrific. He even made homey improvements while we were there. And overall, what this place might lack in hotel polish, it makes up for in friendliness and charm. I would stay here again.

    Jeff2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is large, good for hanging out, and located in a quiet neighborhood. Coffee shops, a yummy ice cream shop, and a few restaurants are within walking distance, but you might want to take Uber (about $5) when venturing to the city center. Manley is super friendly and an attentive host, and he responded promptly to all of our questions. He's making improvements so that the apartment has a private entrance, but we were fine with sharing the front door. Great value!

    Laura2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot super close to Downtown Asheville. Pet friendly. Just be sure to tell the owner if you want your animal left alone while you are there. You get the entire upstairs which is tons of room including a living room and kitchen.

We are in the very upper echelon of guest satisfaction; a superhost for 8 consecutive quarters; 117 reservations in the past year, each giving 5 star reviews; meaning there is no higher level of guest satisfaction. Spacious, private and lovely, this one-bedroom apartment is on the lower level of our three-story home. You've own private entrance and deck. You’re in the woods but 5-10 minutes away from popular spots, downtown, Biltmore Estate, the Blue Ridge Parkway and River Arts District.
We are in the upper echelon of guest satisfaction as 100% of our 117 reservations last year gave us a 5 star rating, meaning there is in essence, no higher level of guest satisfaction than what we have attained. We were chosen by a senior AirBnB staff to be the place they stayed at. "The two of you are the definition of what it means to be a remarkable AirBnB host. The care you put into the host-guest relationship is noticed and truly appreciated." Another recent guest said "You guys were amazing, by far the best AirBnB stay I have ever had! Out of the numerous stays I have had through AirBnB, this was my best trip by far." Spacious, very private, peaceful and lovely, this one-bedroom apartment is on the lower level of a 2013 built, three-story, local notable artist’s home. Amongst other amenities, it has filtered water, a mini-fridge, small microwave, and coffee maker. There is not a stove/oven. Situated in a quiet, historic Asheville neighborhood – Kenilworth - there is lots of natural light through windows that face the woods. Enter through your own private entrance and enjoy your own deck overlooking the lush woods for three seasons, or a mountain view when the leaves are down. It is very private giving you all the space you need. Tall, mature trees grace your entrance and apartment, giving the visual perspective of being in a tree house. You hear the sounds of Asheville in the woods, everything from the train toot, to the plentiful birds, to the foxes in the neighborhood. This special hide-away is centrally located & 5-10 minutes to just about all of Asheville's major destinations, including Downtown, Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Village, and River Arts District. Sleeps up to five guests with a master bedroom, sleeping nook off the living room with a full sized bed, and room for air mattresses in the living room. A one-of-a kind custom made wooden pallet bed frame holds the extremely comfortable king sized bed, with luxurious linens. Many guests said it was the best bed they ever slept on. The living room couch can be used for sleeping for the extra teenager. LGBT, family & kid friendly. Calming colors, organic cork floors throughout and eco-friendly. We have a dog and two cats and while our AirBnB guests are in their own quarters, we have found it becomes too complicated to allow other pets. As such, we cannot accept reservations with pets. Lynn is an Asheville artist, who has shown nationally and can guide you to some of the most interesting art related places in town (in addition to her own River Arts District studio). Lynn also gives 2-3 day individual (or multiple people) artist retreats at her studio. Special Retreat discount for people who are our AirBnB guests. Jake is an ethics and compliance consultant. He is considered an accomplished chef by all who have dined at the house, and for stays of four or more nights, schedules permitting, it would give him pleasure to create a gourmet breakfast for you for one morning of your stay (included in the price). This Airbnb listing has been permitted by the City of Asheville. The Neighborhood Kenilworth is one of Asheville’s wonderful historic neighborhoods, a unique gem with its own distinct feel. You’re in the woods but 5-10 minutes away from all the major attractions, downtown, Biltmore Estate, Biltmore Village, the Blue Ridge Parkway and River Arts District. Majestic trees, safe streets, eclectic mix of housing styles and the 19-acre Kenilworth Lake – a 15 minute walk from the house - makes walking here great fun. Special Offer for Guests Schedule a min-retreat with Lynn while you’re here as our AirBnB guest and receive a 10% discount for the Retreat. We love living in Asheville and in our home, and we'd love to make your stay here be everything you want it to be - and more. Should you stay with us, we hope it will feel like a home away from home. Please let us know in anyway we can assist you.

  • Jake and Lynn are great hosts! We enjoyed our stay with them very much. The house is in the cutest, quiet little neighborhood. It's a great place to take a morning stroll or run. The house is clean and comfy and the bed is AMAZING. It was great to wake up to the beautiful view out of our private back porch. Jake also gives great restaurant recommendations! The train is really a non-issue, as you never really hear it and it's in the distance. Their dogs are great too! Never barked. The only thing is you are on the bottom floor, so you can definitely hear the walking around upstairs. All in all, Jake and Lynn's place is great and we definitely recommend it!

    Lauren2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jake & Lynn's place was great. The apartment is very comfortable, cozy, & inviting. It was spacious, more than enough for two of us. It was nicely furnished and put together. Great bed as others have mentioned. As warned by Jake, the electrical is easily tripped. I had to reset the circuit breaker 3 or so times.

    Adam2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Air BNB experience, and decided it would determine if we stayed in AirBNBs in the future. We had a great experience! Jake and Lynn were very welcoming and accomodating. We had coffee, water, and breakfast bars available when we checked in. The size and setup of the mini apartment was perfect. We had our 6 month old on the trip, and he stayed in the smaller "room." We were able to bring along our monitor and video camera to keep an eye on him. There are 2 space heaters as well as an a/c and heating unit on the wall in the living room. It was great for us Floridians as the temperature dropped while we were there and we were able to stay warm. Jake warned of trains passing by, but we honestly only heard one in the 3 days we were there. It wasn't even loud enough to be noticeable. They were readily available if we needed anything and made excellent restaurant recommendations. The location was PERFECT - just minutes from downtown, and honestly we were close to everything we did while in town (we were here for a wedding). We'd definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Asheville!

    Andrea2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jake was an amazing host (Lynn was out of town) to his and Lynn's beautiful space. I was in town for the Mother Earth News conference and wish I could have spent more time there. The apartment space was incredibly peaceful, relaxing and the bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up! I'm looking forward to a return trip to enjoy the Asheville, to get to meet Lynn and experience the lovely Kenilworth Jewel. Jeanie

    Jeanie2015-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time spent at Jake and Lynn's. They were welcoming and super helpful. Jake gave us different suggestions for good restaurants and hikes. Their home is cozy and clean, which made us feel right at home. Sitting on the deck, we enjoyed the peaceful view of trees. Also, the bed is extremely comfy. We enjoyed exploring Asheville, but also felt like we could hang out and relax in their home.

  • This was my first time staying at an AirBnb and it was great! Jake and Lynn did a wonderful job making sure we were comfortable and share many recommendations for places to visit and dine. The location was perfect - 5 minute drive to everything in downtown Asheville. I will definitely be back and will recommend it to others that are interested in visiting the area!

    Jacqui2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jake and Lynn were fabulous hosts! Their home was beautiful and couldn't have been in a better location. The space was private, clean, and unique. Jake provided ample suggestions to us regarding local restaurants, and they were all amazing. The binder provided lots of useful information for touring the Blue Ridge Parkway, which we found really helpful. We fell in love with Asheville on this trip and it was in a large part due to the suggestions of two locals who know their way around the food scene! Thanks Jake and Lynn!

    MacKenzie2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Kenilworth Jewel was a great deal! Although the hosts were out of town traveling they had a very nice house sitter and gave so many tips/recommendations we barely had any questions at all when it came to how we should spend our time in Asheville. The space is private with a cool views of the surrounding nature, and getting to the bustling downtown could not have been easier. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Asheville.

  • Angela's space was ideal for my trip to Asheville. I love nature and solitude and enjoyed both fully here. The small apartment felt instantly comforting upon arrival and is tucked away behind the main house in a beautifully quiet wooded yard. I could hear birds chirping and the leaves rustling in the wind. Inside the space is cozy and felt like staying at a friend's house. It was well stocked with snacks, water and a coffee maker as well as some dishes and utensils. The small fridge and microwave came in handy when taking leftovers home for later. The bed was soft with lots of pillows and extra blankets and featured a sliding glass to door to enjoy the outside view. The living room had sliding glass doors also, and I could see the trees as I lounged on the couch and watched Netflix, which was also provided. A fantastic experience overall and Angela is super friendly and accommodating, and didn't seem to mind that I'm on the quiet side. I would highly recommend this place as it's tucked away in a nice peaceful neighborhood but close to downtown and Biltmore Village. I used Lyft to get around and had no trouble with it. Thanks, Angela! The shampoo and condition were a nice touch, loved the smell!

  • Angela was extremely helpful with getting us oriented and helping us feel welcome in Asheville. Lovely spot and very accessible to downtown and the surrounding area. Highly recommended!

  • Angela was a fantastic host! She was so friendly and greeted and gave us a tour of the house when we arrived. She really made us feel at home. The home was beautiful and located in a very nice, safe part of town - only a $5 Lyft or Uber drive to downtown but also tucked away with the perfect amount of privacy. The home had everything we needed - I would most definitely stay here again! We had a wonderful trip!

    Candace2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's place was very centrally located, just a very short drive to Biltmore and Downtown Asheville. The check-in process was a breeze. The apartment had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.

  • We had an absolutely wonderful time at Angela's place. She was super friendly and helpful. Great communication. The space is so nice. Very modern with nice decor. It was very clean. She has taken a lot of steps to insure comfort. There is a nice small fridge and microwave. Even a couple of bottled waters and snacks. Also a sleep noise maker for people like me who sleep with a fan but forgot it. Lots of books to read if you like. Nice secluded walking trails out back that make you feel like you're out in the mountains. Uber rides are $6-$9 and it's maybe 5 minutes from downtown. We had a great time and thank Angela so much for her beautiful relaxing space. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

    Shawn2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's apt is stylish, very clean, and spacious! It has a beautiful wooded area out back, and is very private. The neighborhood is lovely. It is is the nicest Airbnb I have stayed in. The location is convenient to downtown and other sights. We felt very welcome here, and plan to return!

  • We came to Asheville for the weekend and couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Angela met us on arrival and gave us great local hike suggestions and made us feel welcomed. Great location: $7 Lyft ride downtown. We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful custom built space!! Tastefully decorated, first class accommodations on the mountain overlooking Asheville. THOROUGHLY cleaned between each guest, leaving the space feeling fresh and inviting. Exposed rock wall opposite original outside wall; just a couple of the details that give this listing a unique and comfortable feel. Beautiful mountain views above with city lights below. This charming space is a short five minutes and $5 Uber ride from downtown Asheville yet feels worlds away.
Beautiful customized studio with wood slab bathroom vanity and office space, a unique rock wall and original outside wood wall. Creative touches throughout the space. Both charming and classy. Super clean and equipped with a shared laundry room and big bathroom. The kitchenette has everything you could need to feel at home when you're away from home, including a beautiful customized concrete countertop. It is equipped with a small refrigerator, hot plate, toaster oven, microwave and a coffee maker (coffee and creamer also provided). Netflix and Hulu streaming available via Roku and mounted flat screen TV. What else could you need?! :) Plenty of privacy with a separate entrance. Beautiful French doors let in lots of light and allow guests to enjoy the fresh air on nice days. Outside space with table and chairs for guests to relax the day away. Lots of space on this double lot on our small mountain leaves you feeling away from it all even though you're merely minutes from downtown. We are super convenient to grocery stores and tons of restaurants downtown. Porch swing and other outside seating. Beautiful fire pit area available for guest use. Suitable for two adults; children are welcome as well although the space is not child proof and I don't have separate sleeping arrangements. This space is one of two rentals on the lower level of my home. Each rental has a private entrance on either side of the house and my entrance is at the front of the house so privacy coming and going is not an issue. If this space does not fulfill your needs please check out my other Airbnb listing :) The apartments share a laundry room space but locked doors keep each space totally private. There is a perfect opportunity here to book both for larger families or couples traveling together. I will send instructions when it gets close to your reservation. Please read them carefully to be sure you choose the correct apartment upon arrival.
I like to think I live on Asheville's best kept secret! It's quiet, has beautiful views and is close to everything. Depending on which way you go down the mountain you are truly not far from wherever you're headed. You can be downtown in minutes to enjoy all the excitement Asheville has to offer and then retire home in the evening for a quiet peaceful night. You also have easy access to 240 to get to your next hike. I wouldn't want to call anywhere else home!
  • A great place to stay!! Can't recommend this place enough.

Surrounded by hundreds of acres of wild and beautiful forest, this newly built apartment is perfect for a couple or individual looking for a meditative and relaxing environment that's not too far from Asheville. The space is very clean and colorful with unique custom woodwork and big windows and is located at the end of the road in one of the most beautiful coves in the region and biodiverse places on earth. People of all colors and backgrounds are warmly welcomed here
The studio has high vaulted ceilings that give it a spacious feeling and the floor is hardwood with colorful rugs throughout. The bathroom is tiny but has a claw foot bathtub with a shower attachment, marble tile, and unlimited hot water. In the kitchen you'll find a 2 burner cookstove, a toaster oven, all the basic kitchen stuff you will need to make your meals, and a smallish round table to eat them at. Beautifully crafted walnut, maple, hemlock, and poplar decorate every possible corner of every room, giving the space a very unique and natural elegance.
The nearest neighbors are all young homesteader types with amazing skills and stories, but you wont see or hear them from the property. You will hear lots from the non-human neighbors though. This lush forest is filled with the songs of rare birds, owls, crickets, and treefrogs with the only light pollution coming from the moon, stars, and fireflys.
  • Perfect place for a quiet getaway when visiting Asheville!

    Maria2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fabulous place to stay!! 20 mins from downtown Asheville and about 30 mins to beautiful hiking, Alexander's place is the perfect location. It's secluded and far away from light pollution that it's perfect of viewing stars and is a peaceful retreat from the chaos of society. The place was very clean and beautifully set up. I highly recommend it!! Alexander was also a phenomenal host checking in with us and telling us about activities to do at night. It was a phenomenal experience.

    Dana2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We booked with Alex when a previously booked Airbnb in downtown Asheville cancelled on us, and I’m so glad it happened that way! Alex’s place was just what we needed for our night. The apt was perfect for the two of us. It was private, secluded and had beautiful views! Sleeping with the windows which surrounded the bed on two sides was fabulous and made it almost seem like we were camping. Alex greeted us upon our arrival, suggested a few spots for food (Blue Mountain Pizza in Weaverville was tops!), and gave us the quiet we needed. The driveway was a bit rocky, but was so worth it. We look forward to staying with Alex again next time we’re in the area!

  • We loved our stay in this cozy nook tucked up in the mountains. It felt private and peaceful even though it was connected to the main house. Alex was very responsive and helpful to all our needs. It met all of our basic needs and was a great landing pad for our days hiking and in downtown Asheville. The drive up to the house was a bit steep but we had no problems making it up in our 2 wheel drive SUV. We would love to come and stay again.

  • Such an amazing place tucked away in the beautiful NC mountains. Loved how private and secluded it was! Alex was a grand host and made our stay very enjoyable. Loved the books and the little book nook in the space. Everything about our stay was perfect ❤️

This was our first Airbnb experience and we were a little worried going in. The two things we thought could possibly be issues weren't issues at all. Everyone else sharing the home was beyond friendly and nice, and although we were sharing a bathroom, we never even saw the people we were sharing with. As described, the house was extremely convenient to downtown Asheville and to UNCA. I didn't meet Rita, but Jeff was very accommodating and genuinely wanted us to treat their home like it was ours. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Thanks for making our first experience a good one.

The Golden Nook was a wonderful place to stay! It was exactly as described, and I appreciated all of the unique elements of the decor- it really made it feel like a home. The bed was extremely comfortable, there were fresh towels available, and everything was sparkling clean! I was really grateful for the convenient parking spot in the back as well (didn't have to park on the road). My favorite part about the house was the sweet little private porch. It rained every night we were there, but the porch was a nice little retreat- very peaceful way to listen to the rain and also to enjoy my morning coffee! We had total and complete privacy throughout the whole stay, but Michelle was happy to respond to my questions when I messaged her. The location was also fantastic, just a 5 minute drive to downtown. Would definitely stay here again!
