Just booked in Bellingham

Within walking distance of both Western Washington University and downtown Bellingham, this cozy, private, comfortable studio is a great and affordable option for visiting the heart of Bellingham.
This small, space is great for an affordable, private stay in Bellingham. We offer a queen bed with comfortable, freshly laundered, high quality linens. There is also a full sized futon that can be used as a couch or bed. Therefore, the space can accommodate four, but is not ideal as the space is small. We do offer a fridge on the front porch and a coffee pot, but there is no kitchen.
The best part of the neighborhood (York) is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown Bellingham or Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying Bellingham. The neighborhood is well represented by University students who occasionally exhibit normal University student energy.
  • This was a comfortable space for anyone who plans to eat out while staying in Bellingham as there is not a kitchen. The studio is small and the main bed is in the loft so you will want to make sure you are able to go up and down stairs. Chris and Amy were good hosts who were available if needed, but let us have our privacy. We were happy with the location, the price and the coziness of the little studio.

  • Great little place close to everything! Off street parking spot is a plus! Walk to Nelsons Market! So close to many things!

  • Had a great time! Perfect little cabin like place. Close to downtown.

  • This place was in the ideal location, easy to find off the freeway, close to restaurants and shops but felt secluded once at the place. Excellent hosts who communicated well and made the place spacial with small special touches. After staying at numerous budget hotels during a multi state US road trip, this was the most comfortable location and best night of sleep we had. Highly recommend to anyone going through the area!

  • This little pocket of serenity was just the ticket for a recent retreat. With windows closed, the interstate was just soothing white noise. Really comfortable bed, great wi-fi, nice touches of a fresh apple, candy dish, an adult beverage from a local brewery, and fun choices of grooming products in the bathroom. I brought my own travel coffee maker so I had everything I needed. Great communication with Chris and Amy too: clear, accurate, prompt, friendly. They get high marks for streamlining the airbnb experience. This was the perfect place for some solitary R&R. I hope to return!

  • Chris and Amy's cottage is the perfect spot in Bellingham from which to explore. I loved the lofted bed area and the cozy sitting area below. I appreciated the little amenities in the bathroom too (just in case you forget something!). Chris had the lights on outside the cottage when I arrived, adding to the ambiance and coziness of the space. Highly recommend a stay here at Chris and Amy's!

    Erin2017-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very comfortable. Chris and Amy reach out to you to make sure you have everything you need. Great access and parking.

    Gary2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little cottage with arty touches and personality. The stairs to the loft might be an issue for some people but fine for us. The freeway sounds may be an issue in the summer with windows open, but the fan works well for air circulation and creates a good white noise to mask it. Private, cozy and a good value.

A little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled creek side with a wide view of the bay. A huge garden to explore and graze from, cozy greenhouse, chicken tree house for the hens, kayaks to paddle into the bay, private hot tub, large fire pit, and BBQ.
This is a classy little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled literally creek side. This dynamic hangout beckons you to kick up your feet in the eclectic garden with curvy raised beds and a chicken tree house. We also have a gorgeous little greenhouse built from mostly up-cycled materials. Come collect your own eggs and graze from the garden, and stay a while. Hot tub and >5 kayaks available. We list the Hobbit House currently as a two night minimum stay. However, occasionally we have single nights left available, and you CAN make a request for those. We do have an upcharge of $30 for those single nights to cover for the extra cleaning. The cottage echos the designer main house, connected by boardwalk and lovely private garden. Hostess is a horticulturalist who loves to share creative thoughts. Watch the tides change, and smell the salt air, pick some greens for your salad from the garden and treat your palate to some fresh flavors. This retreat is ideal for one or two guests, as there is just one queen-size bed. Children are welcome as well, but please note that this space is small-- we call it the Hobbit House for a reason!-- and it is not child-proofed. The Hobbit House has a nice little galley (kitchen) inside with a mini fridge, two-burner hot plate, and toaster/convection oven. The kitchen is stocked with fresh eggs from our chickens, coffee & tea with all the fixings, a few other breakfast goodies, and cooking essentials (spices, olive oil, etc.) all included in the price of your visit! We appreciate if you eat red meat to BBQ it outside in the outdoor kitchen area adjacent to the Hobbit House. This small cedar building also houses the shower, which has a limited hot water tank. Please note that showers must be kept short! We provide environmentally friendly shower products for you to use, as the water drains into the garden. The space feels very beachy/nautical. Please note that we have a composting toilet. We have a high sensitivity to this marine environment and our mutual stewardship of this special retreat.
Incredible little historic village setting. Old and young, a blend of very friendly, mellow dog lovers.
  • Beyond all my expectations. What a magical little spot on the planet. The entry walks you over a slightly arched footpath above a stream with spawning salmon. The boardwalk path veers to the left where you find the charming little Hobbit House, a private hot tub enclosed in a bamboo fence, just 5ft from the front entrance. The front door opens to an efficient, and welcoming micro-kitchen (fridge, hotplate, hot water carafe, French press and an assortment of teas & spices). The compostable toilet was a new adventure to me, but not aversive in the least! The VERY close proximity of the spawning salmon make it a wise and thoughtful addition. The adjacent bedroom is cozy with local recommendations for hikes and kayak use. Large windows overlook the stream inlet and out across misty bay. The stream is literally 3 feet from your window, the sound of the babbling water inviting tranquility. I collapsed into the bed, delighted to discover it had great support yet cradled with some kind of mattress cushion that made for a delicious night's sleep. From slivers of fragrant soap, discreetly placed chocolates, cream and fresh eggs in the fridge, and occasional candles, Alison has thought of everything to make this a lovely retreat. As a host, she is kind, thoughtful and clearly desires the very best for her guests. All this loveliness, and I didn't even mention how wonderful it is to be just out Chuckanut drive, near the Chuckanut Art Gallery & Larrabee State Park, 10 mins from Fairhaven, Tony's Coffee, the Village Bookstore, African Peanut soup at the Colophon café, lingering around the boardwalk of Boulevard Park. A GEM! an absolute GEM! I definitely look forward to a return visit to Alison's Hobbit House! You will deeply enjoy your time here.

  • I don't even know where to begin. My experience at Alison's listing was magical, rejuvenating and rehabilitating. I didn't realize it was possible to find so much peace and calm in one place, but her Hobbit House truly provides this. From the moment she picked me up at the bus station, Alison exuded warmth and hospitality. When she toured me through her beautiful home (an architectural dream!) then the hobbit house and surrounding gardens I felt immediately that I was in the right place. I loved picking fresh veggies from her bountiful raised beads to prepare fresh and healthy meals, and truly enjoyed the fresh eggs from her lively brood of chickens. The rest of my time was spent lounging in the hot tub, exploring the local bay and peaceful beach community, and reading in the garden (the sound of hummingbird wings audible as they pollinated the garden flowers!). If you are looking for a romantic trip for two, or a peaceful sojourn for yourself, Alison's Hobbit House is the place!

    Ariela2015-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Alison's Hideaway is wonderful. We spent most of it in bed watching the birds swim over the water and shore. The creek just under the cabin is enchanting as are all the little details that make this a charming experience. Perhaps a little more privacy around the hot tub would be ideal. Alison's seems to be addressing this with a bamboo screen around it which was in process while we were there. This is a one of a kind space, location and encounter with first rate hospitality.

    Randy2013-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a rejuvenating retreat spot, this is the place! The hideaway is a perfect little sanctuary. I was able to rest, write, and was even inspired to make some simple collages during my 3 day stay. I had everything I needed, and a considerate and accommodating hostess to support my stay. I can't wait to return again!

    Tanya2014-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • The hobbit house was everything we were looking for in a cozy romantic retreat. The gorgeous view of the bay, the scenic creek meandering alongside the cabin, the hot tub, the stunning garden, fresh chicken eggs in the morning, the impeccable hospitality. Each feature could be a centrepiece to build a gorgeous retreat around, the hobbit house has an embarrassment of riches that each add value to your stay. As you can guess we had an amazing time. We used it as a honeymoon destination and look forward to returning for future anniversaries and other special get aways. Thank you Alison, we look forward to returning and getting to know you better in the future. You have a truly special property and you made us feel so at home, we really didn't want to leave.

    Dustin2015-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • The most magical, wonderful place. I can not wait until we go again. The view from our bed was gorgeous. There were thoughtful details throughout the Hobbit House and Alison was so, so welcoming. We were so cozy in the house that we didn't even make it out to kayak like we planned to do. We found the composting toilet easy to work and interested to learn about. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could

    Danielle2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fabulous stay at the Hobbit Hideway. Lovely to lay in bed and look out one window to see the creek, and out the french doors to the bay. We will be back.

    Denise2013-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit Hideaway and Alison were both fantastic! The cottage is cute, cozy, and tidy. Alison kindly showed us how to use the hot tub, grill, and fire pit, and where everything was to kayak if we wanted. The garden is sprawling and beautiful and we spent a fair amount of time reading there with a view of the lake in front of us. Alison has a real talent for making a beautiful, vibrant, sustainably-minded home (chickens! a greenhouse! an outdoor shower area!).

Amy and I have recently updated this turn of the century, 800+ sf character home. The Bungalow is located within walking distance of both WWU (1 mile) and downtown Bellingham (1 mile) and the neighborhood boasts several great breweries and dining options. The bungalow is located on a dead end, single-family zoned street and is a great option for someone looking for a private, centrally located and affordable neighborhood place to stay while visiting Bellingham.
This house is a turn of the century character home in the York neighborhood. We have relished the opportunity to fix it up. Major updates have been made to the roof and electrical. I installed new hardwood to the foyer, living room, dining room and bedroom #2. Both the exterior and interior have fresh coats of paint and I replaced the front porch. The kitchen could use an update but is clean and has fully functional appliances and is stocked with everything you need to cook. Sorry, no dishwasher.
The best part about York neighborhood is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown bellingham or Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying bellingham. The neighborhood is well represented by University students who occasionally exhibit normal university student energy.
  • Our stay was amazing. Quiet neighbourhood and walkable to downtown. The place was very clean and Chris and Amy were awesome. Thank you very much.

    Martin2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and clean house. Perfect for what we needed. Great location :)

    Brianna2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house was comfortable, clean, and perfect for our stay in Bellingham. we would definitely stay there again!

    Caroline2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy's place is WONDERFUL! It was a lot bigger than I originally expected and it was super comfy and really clean. They have lots of TV entertainment options for you (HBO, Netflix, Hulu) for those rainy days in Bellingham and the location of the Bungalow is great! This was one of the best AirBnB's I've ever stayed at and I will definitely come here again when I return to Bellingham!

    Valerie2017-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cozy place that was quiet. Walking distance to many places.

    Claude2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, cute cottage. Loved the gas fireplace and the variety of teas. Little details were really nice, like lots of blankets to choose from in case we got chilled, and granola bars in case we got peckish.

    Celeste2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Really cute place. Cozy and well appointed. Great quiet street near downtown. Will definitely stay again!

    Diana2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a cozy comfortable little house! The one thing that really sticks out for me is how much Chris and Amy love and care for this little house. The details they've put into it are worth every penny of the stay. The neighborhood is quiet and it's maybe a 15 or 20 minute walk to all of the fun restaurants, bars, and shops. While the street parking may be limited, Chris and Amy have a parking spot across the street for easy use. They are great hosts! They have thought of everything and strive to make the stay a really great one! I don't usually leave reviews for anything online but I had such a good time in Bellingham I thought I would be remiss to not leave a review. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Bellingham!

  • This place was a gem of a find! In a nice wooded area, great parking, large tv w Netflix and all the extras, super comfy mattress and sheets, plush towels, new building, large bathroom and shower, lots of homey extras, and an incredible fire pit and hot tub! Heather and her family were great hosts, quick to respond, very easy going , accommodating, friendly, and I would stay here again for sure!

  • Loved the location! It was clean and a great value!

    Trey2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, clean, private and quick response time which was important because we needed a place to stay right away. Would definitely return to Heather's. Nice little touches and comfy bed, shower and tv setup. Love the trees that surround the separate unit and deer.

    Janet2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Heather and her family are EXCEPTIONAL hosts. During our stay we felt very welcomed and Heather made sure we were comfortable and familiar with the space. The home is very private, clean, cozy and surrounded by beautiful landscape. I was disappointed we couldn't utilize the enticing hot tub, as it was snowing, but I couldn't have been happier with the experience. Heather went out of her to way offer us her driveway to park our trailer, even after our check out time and I couldn't be more grateful. I highly recommend staying here during your travels!

    Kristen2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed over one night on our way through from Alaska. We found the place easily, check in instructions were clear, and the space was very comfortable. We would stay again if we have the opportunity.

    Aaron And Shay2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean and well-appointed suburban/rural home in an idyllic forest setting. Hot tub was awesome!

    Betsy2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • We brought our pups with us to Bellingham and it was great to be able to have them stay with us. We walked from the home up to Toad Lake and saw some deer and enjoyed some nice views of the sunset. Space was clean and the shower was nice and hot! We forgot our swimsuits so we did not take advantage of the hot tub and we also did not use the firepit but the hosts got us kindling in case we did! We just got sidetracked because the Olympics were on. ; )

Completely furnished studio apartment in an 11-year-old Victorian-style home. Located in the Historic Fairhaven District in a quiet neighborhood, just blocks from the heart of the shopping district. Private entrance with off-street parking. The Studio is in our warm, dry and sunny daylight basement. Continental-style breakfast supplied including: coffee, tea, juice, almond milk, half and half, nondairy creamer, fruit and gluten-free granola. Everything is (mostly) organic. We do our best to honor special diets, so please let us know if you are allergic or simply avoiding certain foods. Within walking distance of: restaurants, shops, hiking trails, beach, parks, off-leash dog park, heron rookery, Alaska Ferry Terminal, Amtrak and Greyhound Stations. Just a mile from Western Washington University (WWU) and their famous outdoor sculptures. We have a queen-size bed in the room and a futon/love seat that opens up to a single bed (which is large enough for a child or average adult). TV with cable and DVD, WiFi, full galley kitchen, central heating as well as a space heater, fan, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. We created an Adorable Patio just for our B&B guests to the left of the outdoor Welcome sign and up a few steps. We are also gay-friendly. The bathroom has an Om sign design in the shower tile. The shower stall is small and very tall people may have to stoop a bit due to limited height. The Studio has some cool antiques, wicker furniture and art. It's very warm and cheerful. It's, well, adorable! :) We allow dogs in The Adorable Studio. We charge a one-time fee of $10/dog to cover any additional cleaning that we may need to do. You can pay this fee upon arrival. Please let us know prior to your arrival if you are traveling with a dog. We prefer that dogs are not left alone in the Studio, but are willing to consider this on a case by case basis. We have a black and white cat named Kali. She's very shy so you may not get to meet her. We also have a young dog named Bilbo Baggins, who we call Bo. You will definitely get to meet him if you want. He loves meeting people and other animals. The Adorable Studio is located directly below our kitchen and dining room, which have ceramic tile and wood floors. We do our best to be quiet, but you will inevitably hear us as we cook, talk, walk, etc. Also, a few of our children and grandchildren may visit from time to time. If total silence is what you are after, you may not get it at our Studio. The futon love seat is a true futon with a thick cotton mattress and foam core. It is FIRM. The queen-size bed has an extra-firm mattress with a memory foam mattress pad on top. Very comfy. The entire space is 350 square feet, so it is best suited for a single person or couple. If you are traveling with children, please be aware that it's a tight fit if the love seat is made into a bed. Saralee's watercolor paintings are displayed in the Studio, some of which are for sale. You will see a tag with the price in the corner of the frame. We are right next door to Airbnb listing Fairhaven Garden Suite, which sleeps two. If you have more folks you're traveling with than we can accommodate, perhaps they could stay next door! ***Note to bikers, paddlers and skiers: We have a garage adjacent to the studio where you can safely store your gear.
Safe and friendly, close to Fairhaven's urban village, inter-urban hiking trails and Western Washington University.
  • Our 2nd stay, and just as warm-comfy-relaxing as the 1st. Gracious hosts, flexing as our arrival time changed, superb home-made bread & granola, comfy bed... all simple pleasures that mean a lot. Check out the Fire House Café/coffeehouse within walking distance (14th St. & Harris Ave.), too. Hope we return for a 3rd stay, and more!

  • Very cute neighborhood close to everything you'd want to do in Bellingham or Fairhaven. Host provided materials of events to check out and good restaurants in the area we used for our stay. Kitchenette was perfect addition.

  • Great place, great host(s), great location. Sarah provided everything we needed to be comfortable & content, esp. generous-tasty-healthy breakfast & snack foods. The studio was very easy to find, and in a lovely walkable neighborhood. We hope to return!

  • We stayed at Sara's when we were visiting Western Wash University. it was a nice, clean, comfortable place and within walking distance to the University. We loved Jerry's homemade bread. Both Sara and Jerry were very nice and helpful at checkin.

Our place is walking distance to Historic Fairhaven, Western Washington University, parks, restaurant dining, a local brewery, art and culture, and great views. You’ll love our place because of the gardens. It is a delight of both flowers and vegetables. The Garden Suite has a cozy cottage rural feeling within a quiet neighborhood, and the location offers all that a small village can, with a city nearby.
Our space is cozy, about 200 sq. ft. The Garden Suite is comfortable for one or two people. The bed is a cotton-filled slightly smaller full futon with an ergonomically sprung frame and has an adjustable head rest. A memory foam mattress pad and a down comforter in the winter will be cozy for your night's rest. The living space includes a bedroom-sitting area, kitchen, entry way-eating and work area and a bathroom. Although attached to the main house, the Garden Suite has a private entrance and overlooks a quiet garden space. The birds are a joy anytime of year. We do appreciate a quiet home environment, with that said, Derek is a working musician and we love to spend time with our grandkids, so you might hear acoustic music and laughter through the walls. Although our space accommodates two, if you have more than two adults or children, please let us know so we can provide extra sleeping gear. There will be an extra person charge of $10 each person after 2, children don't need to pay extra. The furnace is regulated in the main house, and provides heat to the suite, however we do provide an extra space heater and fan for your comfort. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and we provide breakfast items including coffee, a selection of teas, granola, milk, juice and fruit. Please ask if there is something you need for cooking that is not provided. Also, there is no TV, a CD/ radio player is provided. The Garden Suite is next door to the Adorable Fairhaven Studio apartment so we can accommodate larger groups with our neighbors. If you need more space for friends and family let us know and we'll try and accommodate you. We do have a no pet policy, but if you must bring your pet along, please contact us before your visit. A pet fee will apply. Please use the back yard garden spaces as they were your own. The back yard has quiet places to relax, and can be used at any time. We generally use the front gardens for our own use, and occasionally will be in the back working in the garden areas. Our house is smoke free and we would appreciate if you smoke outside only. Thank you!
The Southside, Happy Valley, Fairhaven neighborhood offers it's residents and guests many enjoyable and convenient amenities. Walking distance to the Alaskan Ferry terminal, Greyhound bus and train terminal, Western Washington University, Fairhaven Village, Taylor Dock and Boulevard Park, the Interurban trails of Chucknut Mt.(for biking and hiking), Haggen grocery store, and several restaurants and boutiques. Despite all this activity, our neighborhood is quiet, friendly and colorful, for walking, jogging or relaxing. The birds are plentiful, look for the bird book in the suite.
  • A cozy and toasty warm suite. The thoughtfully equipped kitchen complete with milk and juice in the fridge was a real bonus. Next time I need a place to stay in Bellingham I'd be happy to book again.

    Christopher2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • A charming space centrally located in Fairhaven. I would love to stay again, if I did not now reside in Bellingham!

    Marriah2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot close to fair haven, cute and charming backyard unit. Very quiet and good hosts!

    Jessica2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Derek and Laura were such great hosts! The Garden Suite is nice and cozy with a surprisingly big feel due to the long narrow lay out. Everything you need is at the house, which is conveniently located to Fairhaven and Bellingham. It was a great place to begin my bike ride along Chuckanut Drive. I would definitely recommend staying here when you're in Bellingham next!

  • We had a wonderful stay at the garden suite. The place was very cozy, comfortable, quiet and relaxing. I can only imagine the gardens are beautiful. The crocuses are just starting to sprout.

Our studio is close to everything Bellingham has to offer. Just blocks from downtown, we are walking distance from nightlife, museums, restaurants, parks, and the waterfront. We know you'll dig the location! We love our Lettered Streets neighborhood, our view of the Bay, and proximity to all the good stuff. You'll feel at home with a private entrance, full kitchen, and washer/dryer. With tons of historic charm, yet a newly renovated space, this is the perfect spot to enjoy this quirky fun town!
This is the third floor of a 19th century home. There are two sets of stairs, and electronic locks to access your private studio. The studio has a full kitchen, and we provide the basics to cook simple items. If guests want to do more extensive cooking, we are happy to provide the tools, however we do not keep everything in the unit, nor do we keep any food or condiments. If you have the need for more specialty cooking tools, we ask that the guest communicates this need. This also goes for basic household items such as irons, hairdryers, etc. We are minimalists in many ways, but can always share/provide these items. We provide coffee and tea (Keurig) as well has a hot-pot for water. The space has a QUEEN size bed. The living room couch is a small futon that folds into a bed. We do not advertise this as a second bed because it is not a typical "bed". It has worked for many guests with children, or adults who don't mind their feet hanging off the edges. If you have questions about this additional bed, please message us.
Lettered Streets is an awesome neighborhood if you like to be close to downtown restaurants, bars, and businesses. We often walk to the farmers markets or to brunch, and appreciate that we are one of the closest neighborhoods to downtown Bellingham. We love all the breweries, tap-houses, and coffee shops that are blocks away from our house! It is also ideal because it is a short distance (less than a mile) from the waterfront and the Marina (Squalicum Harbor). The fact that we can walk less than a mile to the marina to inspect the yachts, watch the sunset at Zuanich park, or driftwood hunt along Squalicum Beach is a real luxury! We love our location so much, but we still feel it is important to note that because we are only blocks from downtown, parks, restaurants and the waterfront, we have some proximity to areas where the homeless population of Bellingham will congregate. As with any downtown area nationwide, homelessness is rising. It is unfortunate, but we cannot change this fact until certain systemic issues are addressed in our country. And Bellingham, even though picturesque and charming, shares the same disparity in living wage/home prices that the entire west coast is experiencing. However, we love living so close to downtown and have NO issues with our neighborhood. It is considered a desirable and very safe area to live. However, we like to give everyone a heads up... especially those folks that like to ignore that homelessness indeed exists in America. For more info on the Lettered Streets neighborhood feel free to visit: https://www.cob.org/services/planning/neighborhoods/Pages/lettered-streets.aspx
  • Excellent space for a visit, close to restaurants, walkable, the room is on the top floor, well appointed and spacious. We will be back

  • Great hospitality, lovely space, good location. I look forward to my next visit!

  • Quaint older home. Quiet. Clean. No problems except that we weren't able to locate a set of sheets and clean blanket for the futon. Primary bed was quite comfortable. Positive experience.

  • We recently took a road trip to the PNW and stayed in 7 different AirBnB's. Lindsy and Eli's was our favorite of all of them. It's so cozy and comfortable. I LOVED that there was a washer and dryer that you didn't have to ask permission to use. The way the apartment is decorated is amazing and it's just a fun, comfortable place to hang out. We liked the neighborhood overall and loved the views from the 3rd floor.

    Samantha2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time - thank you!

  • The place was so stylish and clean. I loved staying in a historic place in Bellingham, yet not too "old fashioned" because the upgrades very modern. Very cute place, great location. And wonderful suggestions of where to eat. I loved Bellingham and it makes it even more enjoyable with a great place to stay! Our hosts were very helpful. Definitely recommend.

  • Perfect apartment and space to stay for a short, or long, visit to Bellingham! Amazing location with lots of food nearby, sights within walking distance and Lindsey and Eli were very helpful by providing recommendations and being in contact with requests. Book it before somebody else does!

    Ian2018-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • This studio is amazing and absolutely worth staying in. That said, it is not a quiet location (they mention the train in the listing and provide earplugs!!) so make sure you'll be ok with that. I lived in this studio for a month and honestly loved "coming home" everyday. The style is so inviting and fresh and the space was wonderfully clean. Any interactions I had with Lindsy were awesome, and checking in was so easy. The bed was very comfortable and there was always plenty of hot water. It was very nice to have a washer and dryer, and the kitchen had everything you'd need for a short stay! It is located about 2-3 minutes from downtown via car, and was really just a great location. You can see the bay and the islands and even when it's cloudy, the windows let in a lot of light. I can't say enough good things. :)

Our conveniently located urban farm—complete with chickens and plenty of vegetable and flower gardens—is within walking distance of downtown Bellingham, where you'll find a wide array of restaurants, coffee shops, live music venues, art exhibits, nightlife, public transport and much more. Our garden-view daylight basement apartment is great for couples, solo adventurers, friends, business travelers or someone needing a place to stay while they explore their own options for living here.
  • This is a fully functioning basement apartment in a neighborhood with easy access by foot or car to downtown Bellingham. Great place, lovely people, and there are chickens and rabbits in the yard! We were just there for one night, but will be back for sure. It's a good spot for friends traveling together, too, as there's a sofa bed, so two people can share the space without having to share a bed.

  • Amy's place was quiet, cozy and charming. Would definitely stay there again.

    Danny2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's was a great place to stay! The apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean, and the surrounding garden was beautiful. Amy thought of many small details that made the space extra homey, from little things like a pad of paper for notes in the coffee table, to fresh eggs from the chickens for the morning. Would recommend and stay again.

  • Amy and her partner were absolutely wonderful hosts. The space was clean, cozy, and comfortable plus it was within a 5-10 minute walk of all the awesome breweries and other cool stuff to do in Bellingham. Could not recommend this place more - we will definitely be back :)

  • I went with my mother for a quick one night get away. This was a very nice little stay, we even made dinner there and watched a quite little movie on my laptop and had a great daughter mother evening! Amy was wonderful and she had made sure the room comes with everything you might need! Thank you Amy!

    Jenny2017-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Amy's for two nights attending a workshop in downtown Bellingham. The location was excellent-- in a safe, residential neighborhood, with easy street parking, located less than a mile from my workshop. Amy communicated promptly to answer all question, and she was home to meet me. I met Erik (who helped me carry out luggage) later that weekend. This is a peaceful, cozy place with one queen bedroom and a sofa sleeper in living room-- a basement apartment in the hosts' older home, reasonably priced especially because I was traveling alone. I loved the fresh eggs from their own hens! Thanks, Amy and Erik!

    Sharon2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay while my husband and I visited family in Bellingham. Amy was friendly. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. It was really nice to have fresh eggs from the chickens. The backyard was really awesome! Wish we had spent some time hanging out there. Maybe next time!

    Angela2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location that is walkable to downtown. Amy was very friendly and the downstairs apartment was well stocked (coffee, half and half, and eggs from the chickens in the yard). Would definitely stay again next time I'm in Bellingham.

Newly renovated one bedroom apartment in the heart of Old Fairhaven Historic District. Located two minutes walking to downtown amenities. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, and privacy. Located above a quiet law office with private, coded access. Next door to this apartment on one side is a private condominium complex and on the other, a home converted into a micro brewery.
This a newly renovated historic building in the center of Old Fairhaven. Originally built in 1909, the building used to be part of the colorful history of Old Fairhaven Prostitution! In it's heyday, it was called "Anne's Palace" and owned by a madam named Anne Bronson. This apartment is small, perfect for two or three people. It starts getting cramped with four adults. Keep that in mind. Please let the host know if you will be needing the sofa bed.
This home is in walking distance to urban trails, the Bellingham Amtrak Station, Community Boating Shed (for kayak and paddle board rentals), and all the wonderful Old Fairhaven downtown shops and restaurants, as well as the Farmer's Market. Please scroll all the way down to see the map and locations marked as points of interest. This apartment is located within walking distance to almost everything in Old Fairhaven. There are several listings, restaurants, and places of interest that have been listed; be sure to read about all the great places in Fairhaven and Bellingham!
  • Beautiful apt....brand new in an old brothel!! How cool is that?!!! Great furnishings, kitchen, amenities....totally comfortable. A little city noise given the location, but that location is a real plus. The University is just up the street and the waterfront is just down the street. Historic Fairhaven is a cool little area - we enjoyed walking the streets (after all, we did live in a brothel!!!). We had been on the road for a couple of weeks and were very happy to end our trip at Kristi's apt.

    Robert2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kristi was awesome! She was always available for any questions that I had and she made it very clear that my comfort was a priority. The property was perfect. Quiet, clean, comfy and Kristi stocks the place with everything you can think of. I was especially impressed that she uses Mrs. Meyers cleaning products so the space smelled fresh and not chemically induced. I took the train to Bellingham from Seattle and Kristi's property is just up the hill from the depot so it's the perfect location for train and bus travelers. Historic Fairhaven was hopping with people and there were so many shops and restaurants to choose from. I didn't even venture into Bellingham proper. I was also close to walking/biking/hiking trails which are beautiful this time of year. Being from the South we get spoiled with our need for ceiling fans. Kristi had TWO beautiful vintage looking fans and I felt especially at home with that feature. The decor was very much Northwest in style and the bedding made it difficult to get up and out in the mornings. The perfect space to get-away and cocoon. I will be back!

    Stephanie2015-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kristi was available and helpful upon arrival. The apartment was perfect for our family of 4. It was updated and modern, and in an ideal part of town. We were traveling via the Amtrak, and it was a perfect walk to the station. We would stay there again!

Enjoy this cheery light filled space with a separate kitchen. Located close to Fairhaven, WWU, Downtown Bellingham, and trails that lead to Chuckanut Mtn, the bay and WWU. Let this be your hub for all you want to experience while in Whatcom County.
This space is attached to the main house where I live. There is an always locked door in the hallway between the two spaces for privacy. There are 3 different rooms which make it more than a traditional studio. The large room has a queen bed and a sitting area. There is an outside entrance to this room with a low deck that looks over the backyard and the garden. This is a great place to sit and watch the sunset. There are 3 steps up from this room into the hallway. Off the hallway there is a bathroom with a large shower (no tub) and another room for a small kitchen with a microwave, a countertop convection toaster oven, a refrigerator, a hot pot and an assortment of cooking and eating dishes and utensils. There is a second outside entrance into the kitchen. I provide tea as well as coffee beans with a grinder and a drip system with an insulated carafe. I also have basic condiments such as mustard, ketchup, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. I have added an option for a third guest with the use of a 4" foam trifold single size mattress that could be placed on the floor next to the queen bed. This is for guests that want to bring a child or friends that may not want to share the queen bed. Please be aware that this is not a real bed and choose this option with that knowledge.
Wren House is conveniently located close to many popular locations. We are 1 mile from a 24-hour major grocery store in a shopping center with a pharmacy, restaurants, hardware, and REI. We are 1.5 miles from Fairhaven with many shops and restaurants, 1.5 miles from WWU, 2.5 miles to downtown Bellingham with shops, restaurants and award-winning brew pubs, and just 2 blocks to a Greenways Trail that takes you to the Chuckanut Mountains or to Bellingham Bay or WWU.
  • Alex and I were thrilled with your stay at Wren House! It was accurate to its listing and Sue really did think of everything. I loved that there was an additional space heater in case we wanted to be toasty. The space was clean, relaxing and very convenient. We liked that it was walking distance to the WWU campus and arboretum. We had plenty of privacy and Sue was easily reachable if we needed anything. This was my first Air B & B experience and it was a fantastic one! Thanks Sue!

    Lindsey2015-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend trip staying at Sue's place. It was private, quiet, and relaxing. We loved having our own space with a fully functional kitchen! Sue is very thoughtful in providing breakfast cookies and coffee + toiletry items you may have forgotten. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend!

    Danielle2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wren House Studio is an exceptional find. If you're in the Bellingham area for any reason, you should stay here! The bathroom was well stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap and local coffee and snacks were available for guests. The interior of the studio is clean and beautiful but waking up to a view of Sue's garden was sublime. Absolutely recommend this place and would stay again if I'm ever in this part of the world again.

    Bianca2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were really sorry not to be able to stay longer at this cute and cozy hideaway... The space is warm and inviting, the bathroom is cheery and spotless (with double shower heads!), and Sue has thoughtfully provided more than one would expect in the sweet little kitchen area. All of the details show the high level of care and interest Sue has in providing a top notch experience for travellers, even if they can't spend much time at all. Sue was very relaxed about the fact that our travels and heavy traffic led to a late-evening arrival, and her friendly welcome (via a sign on the door) and easy conversation in the morning more than prove her worth as a host. Great place to stay! It made us want to come back to Bellingham as a destination rather than as a quick layover.

    Maribeth2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We took an impromptu road trip up to Bellingham, WA from Clackamas, OR to check out two sailboats we had our eyes on. Fortunately, Sue had a couple of nights open at the Wren House Studio in early February and so we jumped on it. We had such a relaxing visit staying there. The bed was extremely comfortable, kitchen well supplied, and the whole studio very clean, and loved Sue's sense of style. Wonderful views from everywhere. A definite five star!

    Maureen2016-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Every little amenity I could think of was provided. The place was warm and lovely, exactly as pictured. It felt like home and my boyfriend and I were disappointed we could only stay for one night. The shower has two heads with great water pressure and the bed is really comfortable too! If you're looking to go out in Bellingham and don't want to drive, the cab ride into downtown was about $10 and very quick and easy.

    Katie2016-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This studio is so much more. In addition to the main room with a comfy bed there is a full size beautifully tiled bathroom and adorable kitchen. Your feet will be pleasantly pampered when you step onto the heated tile floor in the bathroom. There wasn’t a thing I wanted or needed that Sue hadn’t already thoughtfully provided. We didn’t get to meet but indicators pointed to an environmentally conscious nature lover with an artistic flair. Best of both worlds. Quiet, private retreat from the hustle and bustle yet easy access to all the city has to offer.

    Judy2018-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was great at communicating and we loved the studio apartment, especially the wonderfully comfy bed. We would stay again and recommend her place.

Adorable 1 bedroom cottage rests in one of the most desirable character neighborhoods of Bellingham and is an easy walk (just over 10 blocks) from downtown and just a few blocks from Elizabeth Park. We provide a light continental breakfast!
The cottage comes with a light continental breakfast! This cute 1 bedroom cottage is a tastefully remodeled garage. It is nestled on a quiet street in a lovely historic neighborhood of Bellingham, WA. Come enjoy the many amenities beautiful Bellingham has to offer. From hiking, to island hoping to skiing and mountain biking our area is perfect for your next adventure! Or simply enjoy our local cafes and pubs and long leisurely strolls along the waterfront - all located within a mile or two of the cottage. The Cottage has a new pillowtop queen bed in the bedroom. The living area has a kitchenette with full fridge, euro stove and cook top. The bathroom includes a powder station (note: there is NO sink in the bathroom yet; we are working with city coding. Most people are not bothered by this because there is a sink in the kitchen, just outside the bathroom, however!) and it's own laundry! The Cottage comes with fresh local coffee, a selection of teas as well as a continental breakfast. Feel free to enjoy our small garden and pergola that shares with our English Tudor home.
Lovely character neighborhood full of restored homes. Sits just north of downtown and is easy walking distance to the water or the many amenities of downtown.
  • We were in Bellingham for 1 night and Julie was a great host. I never met her but that is fine for me. Check was so simple and exactly how she described it. The place was indeed cute! We had coffee for the morning and snacks. We felt very comfortable and cared for. Every time I messaged Julie I had a response immediately. If we had more time in Bellingham I would have loved to check out the map of must sees they had in the unit. I would recommend this place to others and I would absolutely stay there again.

    Sara2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great in Julie's space. It was very comfortable and he'd everything we needed. Privacy was amazing. Check in was very easy. I only got to meet Julie briefly but she was very friendly! Would definatly stay here again if we were in the area.

    Jamie2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very ideal and quant location to visit Bellingham. A bottle of wine was sitting on the table when we walked in, although we didn't meet the hosts it was a lovely way to start our getaway. The hosts were very respectful of privacy. Would definetly recomend their cute cottage to anyone looking for a homey vacation.

    Marie2016-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We were very pleased with our stay at the cottage. It was spacious with a well supplied kitchen. Location was great and we enjoyed walking the neighborhood to see all the charming early 1900 houses.

    Beverly2016-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, scenic neighborhood, and great location!

    Drew2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very sweet little apartment in a great area of town, good-looking decor, very thoughtful set up. (I mean, they *painted* a map of the neighborhood for guests!!!) I really liked that there was a washer/dryer in the apartment, handy after hiking in the rain. The hot plate and toaster oven saved time and money. Sean was friendly and helpful, but they'd set everything up so well I didn't need a thing while I was there (3 days). Since it looks like I'll be moving up to the area, this will be a great resource to have when we're not able to host guests ourselves. I'd have my parents stay here, it's that nice. (Parent Nice! You know what I mean.) Recommended.

    Mary2013-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at the cottage. The location is very convenient with a grocery store and 3 parks within a short walking distance, one of which has a Disc Golf course. Downtown is a bit further, not a far walk in my opinion, but there is a bus stop on the Green Line about a minute or two walk up the block. The cottage itself was very nice. The washer and dryer were very convenient on my long stay. The router is located in the living room so the wifi signal is strong, but gives you the option for wired internet if you need it. There is view of the yard from the kitchen, where you can see some wildlife foraging around. You might even see a squirrel or a Steller's jay hop up to the window box for a brief moment. Sean and Julie are very friendly. After check-in I was left to my privacy, but I felt that if I needed anything they would have made themselves available. Overall, I am very happy with my stay. I was here for 3 weeks and I would certainly recommend it for anyone looking for an extended stay in Bellingham.

    Thomas2014-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time we've stayed with Julie, and each time it has been great. They're a really sweet couple, and their cottages have everything you need for your stay. Settled in a charming neighborhood, not to far from the downtown cafes, restaurants and bars, its the perfect location. Would highly recommend this place.

A lovely, private, light-filled room in our home, with a private entrance, bath, and basic kitchenette. It's in a quiet neighborhood, close to downtown, backing up to green space, and steps away from hiking and biking trails.
Zen Oasis is a large bedroom with a private entrance and bath in the back of our single-story family home which borders Whatcom Falls Park. It is clean, bright, comfortable, and simply furnished with a queen bed, chair, small table and chairs, and dresser drawers. There is a private deck with two chairs for lounging in the fresh outdoors where you can listen to the birds and nearby Whatcom Creek and waterfalls. It is best suited for shorter stays of up to one week. There is no access to the main house and no cooking facilities, but there is a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, and dishes and utensils for take-out or ready-made meals in the room. Tea and coffee are provided. Zen Oasis is a great place for: - solitude, respite and communing with nature - a comfortable, clean and convenient stay for business or travel - proximity to walking and biking trails - a quiet night's sleep after a busy day of exploring. Zen Oasis may not be great for: - children under 5 years old - late-sleepers (there is a skylight in the room which makes for light-filled mornings.)
Whatcom Falls Heights is the perfect urban neighborhood - close to downtown (just a 10 minute drive or 30 minute bike ride), but with the quiet of the woods and park to make you feel you're far away. Enjoy miles of walking trails through Whatcom Falls Park - the jewel of the city - with a park entrance just a short walk down the street. Bring your bike and explore the Railroad Trail system which runs through the park and takes you all the way downtown in one direction (about three miles each way) or over to Lake Whatcom in the other direction (about a mile).
  • This was a great private room with bath and private entrance. The glass door looks out onto the forest of Whatcom Falls Park. It was very peaceful. There is a path into the park about a half block away. We took coffee and granola bars and had breakfast at a lovely natural swimming hole on two mornings of our stay. Our hosts were available by text and very nice. Lovely.

  • We loved staying at ZenOasis. So quiet...and impeccably clean! It's exactly what we were looking for, and we'll stay here again next time we're in Bellingham.

  • Kirsten's cozy suite was a wonderful place to call home for a few days' visit to Bellingham! Check-in was a breeze, and the bed and space were super comfortable and peaceful. The back deck and wildlife sounds from the park behind the suite were particularly lovely.

  • I enjoyed a peaceful and restful night at Kirsten and Jeff's place. It was very close to a lovely, forested park with great trails and a short drive to lots of restaurants. I would be happy to return!

  • Kirsten welcomed us and was available if anything came up. The room was very clean with everything as shown and promised! Whatcom Falls park is a short walk away, and it is very peaceful. A great spot for a Bellingham stay, with downtown being just a few minute's drive.

  • Great accommodation! Kirsten and Jeff were friendly and check-in/check-out were easy. Would recommend staying here to my friends/family.

  • This place is the best! The location is great. The skylight is great. Reusable Kurig cups! Communication was easy. Thank you for everything!

    Rebecca2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Zen Oasis and our only regret was that we didn't get to stay longer. Kirsten and Jeff have a lovely home and have designed the walkway to the room in such a way (using lush landscaping) that you are transported into a "zen" mind before you even get to the room! Kirsten was also extremely generous in taking her valuable time to provide us with wonderful tips on what to see and do. We really appreciated that. The coffee and cookies in the room was also very much appreciated. We loved all of it.

A cheerful bedroom with a Queen Tempurpedic bed and private bathroom. Relax on sunny patio in lovely yard or curl up with a book in cozy living room. Excellent location: Walk to downtown, waterfront, restaurants, and parks from this character home.
Welcome to Bellingham, the "city of subdued excitement." Thankfully, my neighborhood is pretty subdued indeed. I hope you enjoy this quiet, safe, block and my handsome home, built in 1900. Cheerful bedroom with cozy living room and big open kitchen. The well-landscaped, private backyard has a nice patio for dining. But if you want to get out and about, this is GREAT location. On the busline to WWU. Only 1 mile to downtown for local shopping, season farmer's market on Saturdays, and plenty of great restaurants. Less than a mile to Bellingham waterfront for superb sunsets and nice walks. Several parks and a few places to eat within walking distance. Or jump in your car and head up the Mt Baker Hwy for some skiing (they boast the most snow of any mountain in N America) or stunning hiking near an active volcano. If you need a big city fix, Vancouver, BC is only an hour away, too!

  • Thank you very much to Jodi for her friendly welcome and for sharing her lovely home.

    Frank2014-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great experience. The space is very clean and comfortable. The house is conveniently located (very walkable neighborhood) and Jodi is super friendly and welcoming. Thanks again!

    Emily2015-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi was an excellent host! Easy going and available if we needed anything, yet gave us our privacy and space. She was warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home. The coffee in the morning was unexpected and a very nice touch! The room was much nicer than what is shown in the pictures and we had a great sleep on the memory foam bed. The house is located close to downtown, is well maintained, and spotlessly clean. We will definitely be back!

    Kathie2013-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jodie was a gracious host, house was clean and inviting, neighborhood was safe and quaint, and quiet, all close to downtown. An she makes a great cup of coffee in the a.m. Oh, and the bed was great. Being 6'4" 200 lbs, that's important!

    Andy2014-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi's home is beautiful, comfortable and convenient to the central part of town. I felt welcome, communication was easy, and I look forward to staying with her again when I next visit Bellingham.

    Ben2015-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi is a wonderful host. The accommodations were super and I slept like a baby in the comfortable Tempurpedic bed. The atmosphere was quiet and serene. I'd definitely stay here again. In fact, with all my travels for work, I'm sure I will stay with Jodi again. Thanks so much!

    Dawn2014-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • I appreciated being able to check in a little early given my logistics. Although Jodi was not present, she was available by cell phone which was very helpful. The room was perfectly adequate, and I appreciated having my own private bathroom. I was very appreciative of her notebook which had maps and restaurant suggestions since I was not very familiar with Bellingham.

  • I had a great experience with Koelle. Great response time to my initial request and solid communication throughout. Koelle has a beautiful home and is very knowledgeable about local restaurants and entertainment. Wonderful hospitality!

    Riley2016-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was warm and welcoming and her home was just as described (a charming bungalow that was clean, comfortable and cozy). I enjoyed staying here and would love to return for future visits to Bellingham!

    Andre2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was a friendly and organized host. She responded quickly to my inquiries her place was such a haven. I'd highly recommend it!

  • A perfect home base for days exploring Bellingham!

  • Koelle was friendly and helpful. The house is in a great spot near downtown and is very clean and homey. Would definitely stay again!

    Brianna2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • My dog, Zelda, and I had a lovely stay with Koelle. To say this place is “dog-friendly” is not enough. Koelle even had a special doggie futon for Zelda to sleep on, offered treats, and gave her lots of love. Of course, Koelle’s place is also quite people-friendly. She is warm and welcoming, and great to talk to. Bed is small but comfy, and the shared bathroom was no problem. This will be my Bellingham go-to.

    Rebekah2017-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle’s home was the perfect refuge for a few nights while I was visiting Bellingham after the loss of a loved one. Koelle’s home is a reflection of the incredibly kind, thoughtful, creative, and wise person she is and it was just the right place for me to be. The room is comfortable, clean, safe, cozy, and backs up to her beautiful garden that always has something blooming in it. Koelle provides a lovely assortment of goodies for a light breakfast, and all the amenities you need to feel at home. There were four wonderful dogs at the house when I stayed. Being a dog lover myself, I thoroughly enjoyed their presence. Downtown Bellingham is easy to walk to from her house, and the public transportation was top notch for going further afar. I would definitely recommend Koelle’s place, and come back again in a heartbeat. Happy travels!

    Jennifer2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was very welcoming and accommodating, and kindly provided breakfast items as well as space in the fridge for a few of my bits and pieces. She has a beautiful garden and is interesting to talk to about it. Urban agriculture geeks will love this neighbourhood, which has lots of front yard and boulevard gardens and fruit trees, all very inspiring. The room was comfortable and I appreciated being able to bring my dog who loved his dog sofa.

Located in the heart of the lettered neighborhood. Easy walk to downtown, nearby parks, and restaurants. Close to multiple grocery stores and the bus line. This one bedroom, one bath apartment is brand new - built one year ago and never lived in! The apartment is on the bottom floor of a large house (we live upstairs) with private access and a small fenced-in yard. The other half of the bottom floor is the garage. We welcome all people.
There is one full sized bed in the bedroom and one full sized futon in the living room. There is extra bedding for the futon in the apartment. The kitchen is stocked with lots of tea and coffee! There is a full dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator. However, there is no stove or other cooking appliances. The living room has a large tv with sound system. It is easy to hook up your own devices to watch netflix etc. or listen to music. Wifi. We do live on the top floor with our adorable toddler and two friendly, large dogs. You may see them peaking over the backyard fence to say hello.
The Lettered Neighborhood is a hip and quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors.
  • Sarah is a lovely and accommodating host with a beautiful home inside and out. It's very clean, smells nice, the beds were very comfortable, and the location is very close to so many things. Communication was great- always fast and she checked in to see if we needed anything and make sure we were comfortable. Sarah went above and beyond to meet a few special requests and we really appreciated her leaving us coffee, every tea you could want, some breakfast starters, and toiletries. I would definitely stay again and recommend staying here. Thank you :)

    Amanda2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place was perfect for my stay. The location is cozy and safe. The space itself was sparkling clean. Due to my flight, I arrived in the middle of the night. Even with the lack of daylight, the outdoor lighting was sufficient to allow easy access and check in happened without a hitch! I must mention that communication was immediate. I had a few questions before arriving which were quickly answered. I would love to stay here again should the occasion arise.

    Michelle2018-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay, the location is great for any thing you might want to do in Bellingham. Check in was easy as pie. Thanks, Sarah!

  • I’m originally from Southern California, and came to Bellingham for my best friend’s wedding. Since I recently graduated from college I was looking for something affordable, and close to Hotel Bellwether. This place was perfect. It was walking distance from Trader Joe’s, in a quiet neighborhood, filled with everything I may have forgotten, like toothpaste, body wash, dishes, breakfast, an aux cable to play music, and extra blankets. The futon and the bed were comfy, and there was plenty of closet space if you stay for an extended period. No oven but there was a microwave, a slow cooker, a coffee maker. Pretty much anything you need, you have. It’s incredibly clean, and Sarah made it a point to check in with me to make sure our stay was going well. If I’m ever back in Bellingham, this is the place to stay!

    Lisa2017-10-23T00:00:00Z

Home base for your Bellingham adventure is my cozy second floor apartment in a 1902 Victorian near Bellingham's downtown and waterfront. This large light-filled 740-square foot apartment has pleasant views across the city (including the white crest of Mt Baker) and huge kitchen, new comfy bedding.
This spacious apartment has one large bedroom, a living room, large kitchen, and bathroom. New carpet just installed April 2017. BEDROOM 1: The bedroom has an upholstered queen bed with new pillow-top mattress, nightstands, lamps, dresser, full-length mirror, alarm clock, radio/CD player, chair and table/desk. There is a very large window with blackout curtains. Full-size closet. A twin cot can be made up and put in the living room or bedroom for an extra guest. Please request in advance if the cot is required so I can pull it out of storage and make it up. LIVING ROOM: New love seat, 2 chairs, coffee table, end table, lamp, flat screen HDTV, bookshelf with books, magazines, games, local brochures. KITCHEN: Extra large sunny kitchen with several windows. Lots of counter space plus bar with 2 stools for eating/working. New full size refrigerator, large microwave, electric range, sink, full set of cookware and dishes, tea & coffee. BATHROOM: Roomy bathroom with washer/dryer. Tub/shower, large vanity sink with mirror, toilet, hand-help make-up mirror, ironing board, iron, drying rack, shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, makeup remover towelettes. OUTDOORS: Private back yard with patio seating. Front porch with seating. A locked shed is available for bikes, snowboards, etc. that you need to store during your stay. (Request key in advance or message me). Sound: A small number of guests have noticed hearing train whistles at night when windows are open (tracks are about 1 mile away). Otherwise most guests report a quiet neighborhood. MY DEAR GUESTS: BELLINGHAM CITY COUNCIL IS POISED TO RESTRICT VACATION RENTALS IN MARCH 2018. This rental and most others may not be available in the very near future. Unfortunately my lovely guests are being cast as unwelcome intruders in the neighborhood. Please contact the Planning Dept and tell them why you use vacation rentals.
The neighborhood, called Lettered Streets, is 1-1.5 miles from Bellingham’s downtown and waterfront. Restaurants, breweries, shops, grocery stores, stage theaters and parks are within walking distance. A classic corner convenience store is a few blocks away.
  • We had a nice stay! Caroline was very accommodating and even had the extra bed ready for when our daughter showed up. we had a very comfortable stay.

    Marni2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Spent 2 nights here. Clean, had everything you needed (including washer/dryer). Walked to restaurants, waterfront, marina. Overall a nice place to stay.

  • The place was exactly as was described plus felt warm, homey, comfortable. Did not meet hosts but their responses were immediate and instructions were clear. Would love to stay there again should we visit the area again.

  • A great little get away that thankfully was available when our original host cancelled our reservation. The place was quaint, clean, updated, perfect for us. Contact with our host was efficient, via the website. A very well run operation, by an obviously competent and professional host. Good job!

  • Caroline has a lovely place that is clean, big and affordable. I had a great time staying at this place. She went out of her way to accommodate my request which I appreciate deeply. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and is within walking distance to downtown Bellingham.

A unique house in downtown Historic Fairhaven which has been converted into a working micro-brewery. A block away from local amenities, including boutique shops & great restaurants. You can easily hop on to the inter-urban trail which links parks, fantastic hiking, biking & downtown Bellingham. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi & a tasty, craft ale is only a step away.
Our cozy home is also home to a small micro-brewery which is housed in shipping containers in the back yard. Guests are welcome to use the backyard which has a fire pit, or the patio upstairs which gets lots of sun to eat their meals. The detached garage has been converted into our taproom, so a tasty ale, created on site is never far away. The bedroom is in the back of the house. It is surprisingly quiet, so you won't be disturbed by patrons of the brewery. In fact, there is the constant gurgling sound of a running stream, which is actually our glycol system that is used to cool our beer and walk-in cooler. The kitchen is fully equipment, including a gas range so you can cook to your hearts delight. There is coffee and tea readily available too. The window above the kitchen sink looks out on to the front beer garden of the brewery. You can always create some privacy by closing the blinds. The dated bathroom has a shower tub, which is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, toothpaste, first aid kit and most importantly with a tub....soothing bubble bath! The lounge/living area is our biggest space. It receives a lot of light and looks out on to the front street, and a window faces the front beer garden. Again, there are blinds, curtains and sheer curtains to create more privacy for yourself, if you so desire. You can hear the murmur of conversations in the front beer garden. The comfy couch in the living room opens up into sleeper bed. Stairs go upstairs to our office space. There is a door that creates privacy for you downstairs; however, the house is a little squeaky, so you will hear foot steps upstairs as we access the space during office hours and occasionally in the evening to access our merchandise stock for the brewery. We only access the office space through the brewery, and never via your space downstairs.
Our micro-brewery home is located one block from downtown Historic Fairhaven. There are beautiful boutique shops just a stroll around the corner, and great restaurants with some excellent happy hours & food. Obviously, we think Stones Throw Brewery is the best place for a beer, but if you want wine or cocktails we love visiting the Black Cat. Access to the Inter-Urban Trail is across the road. You can bike south towards Fairhaven Park (5min), Arroyo Park (15-20min), Larrabee State Park (45min) or you can bike/walk north into downtown Bellingham which takes you out over the water along the Taylor Dock Board Walk and past Woods Coffee. Talk to us if you are interested in using a bike - we have one available for you. In the summer time the Community Boating Center is open and you can easily rent a paddle board/paddle boat for some fun sightseeing on Bellingham Bay. A block and a half away you will find our local grocery store, Haggens. Very convenient.
  • This is a great space. The connected brewery makes the space really comfortable and welcoming. Nadine is a super host.

    Travis2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay in the Fairhaven area of Bellingham. Nadine and Tony were both very responsive leading up to our stay. The space was big enough for 4 of us to stay. Having the place attached to the brewery is also a great perk.

    David2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved this place! The micro-brewery has great beer, good people, and an all around fabulous vibe. We had an overnight trip with our baby and were pleasantly surprised on how great a location it was. There was even live music!

    Katie2018-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nadine's place was as advertised, very cozy. Conveniently located within walking distance of the Fairhaven district. Good food and drinks. The adjoining taproom was a great first stop for a Sunday cold beer.

    Doug2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a special place in a location just right for exploring Fairhaven on foot. It was great for the two of us and a very comfortable space. Our stay was on a holiday so we didn't get to sample their brews, but we'll visit again to check that piece out for sure!

    Connie2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nadine's place was wonderful. My girlfriend and I only stayed for one night but it was the perfect location for exploring the Fairhaven district. The Beer at Stones Throw was very good and the brewery had a lot of excellent touches.

    Jason2017-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great!! It was right next to a beautiful, quiet little brewery. The kitchen was also perfect for cooking. I would absolutely stay here again, and next time spend more time at the brewery. I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Kt2018-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is located in an amazing spot in Bellingham. It is very safe, beautiful, and convenient. The hosts are very kind people who are just getting started with renting out their space. They were very easy to communicate with before and during our stay. For instance, she was willing to make arrangements for an extra mattress if there were more guests. While the office above was mentioned in the listing, it was not clear that it is wide open to the apartment. It would be better if there was a door at the top of the stairs. The hosts sometimes came in through the office and there was little privacy. This is something to consider depending on the level of privacy you are comfortable with and expecting. The listing mentioned a fully stocked kitchen. When we stayed the oven wasn't working so we had to microwave our lasagna. We also had trouble making our breakfast with only one pan to use. We saved money by eating in, but the kitchen was missing some important things. I would check with the host ahead of time about the kitchen supplies or bring items with you that you want to cook with. Again, these hosts were just getting started (we were their second group of guests) so there is room for improvement, but they are off to a promising start. These are changes that they can easily make that will greatly enhance the experience of staying at this location.

  • A wonderful place to stay before a flight. It was only 11 minutes from the airport. Koelle is a fantastic host, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I'll be back for sure!

    Carter2018-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Host was very welcoming and helpful in terms of local networking, restaurant recommendations, etc. Bed was excellent, house very charming

    David2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was very welcoming and responded promptly. She had all the amenities we could need, tasty breakfast and a great recommendation for dinner! There were some sweet dogs there some that she was dog sitting for. They were a little noisy in the am and the room was by the street so you could near the street but she provided ear plugs and we slept really well.

    Beverly2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great walk to downtown and Koelle is easy to chat with and has lots of info about the area. When confirming with her to bring a dog and making arrangements to pay for her taking care of them while out and about (which is great and affordable), we didn’t think to check what that schedule would look like. We also didn’t ask if other dogs would be there at that time besides hers, which could be hard to do if u book in advance.

    Rose2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was away for the 3 nights I stayed, so I was hosted by the wonderful Debbie and the gorgeous bag of cuddles that is Kami (almost felt like she was my dog by the time I had to leave!) The room and house is absolutely beautiful- with an incredible vegetable and flower garden out back making you feel like you live in a forest as soon as you step out the door! I am very grateful to have had breakfast provided for me every morning as I could relax outside in the garden with Debbie and Kami while getting advice on all the awesome places to visit that day. Debbie very kindly offered me rides into town, so I could get dropped off at an amazing walk or market and then meander my way back home over the day. Koelle's house really feels like a home away from home, and I loved every second of my stay. If I ever end up in Bellingham again they will be my first port of call!

    Satori2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely to chat with Koelle and stay at her cute dwelling. Would have liked to stay longer...thank you.

  • Koelle was awesome! She has a charming house and she's an interesting person, which makes for a great hostess! I loved staying at her house and will definitely book with her again!

    Susan Skye2016-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle is just lovely! The house is beautiful and peaceful and she was an amazing host - even making me coffee when I had a migraine! She was extremely communicative and helpful - made sure she was there to meet me in person (which doesn't happen all the time with air bnbs). she really went out of her way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. She also has the sweetest dog who also made me feel welcome! HIGHLY recommend this spot if you're planning a trip to B'ham!

  • This was our first time to Bellingham and ever using an Airbnb. This space is beautiful, clean and in the most perfect location! Erin and her husband had so thoughtfully supplied coffee (and creamer!) and tea, dishes, chocolates and even bath soaps! The location is roughly 5 minutes to downtown, Whatcom Falls and shopping. They even supplied us with a garage door opener with an indoor parking space. We will definitely be looking up this location if we ever return to Bellingham and will absolutely be recommending to friends!

  • Erin was always very communicative since the moment I requested the rental. Always was very clear and honest. Erin made sure that Chris was at home at the moment of our arrival; Chris was very friendly and he took his time to chat with me and my daughter Janny and explained us everything about the home and the area, since it was our first visit to Bellingham. The space was extremely clean, organized, spacious and warm. I will use it again and highly recommend it!

    Felix2016-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay. Very well kept and comfortable accommodation. Lots of nicely done details that make you feel at home. Lots of communication with Erin. Thank you Erin for your concern about the sudden snowfall. Everything worked out perfectly.

    Joan2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed two nights at Erin's place, which was very comfortable and cozy. Aside from not having a full kitchen, everything that was provided was excellent, from the coffee to the environmentally friendly products. Erin even left instructions and suggestions on what to do in the area. The location itself, is in a quiet area and easily accessible to restaurants, shops, grocery stores and a hiking trail. Will definitely stay here again!

1 bedroom basement apartment in quiet Columbia Neighborhood. Approximately 700 sq feet. There is a separate entrance involving stairs and parking via the alley or street. Unit includes a full kitchen, 3/4 bathroom and washer/dryer. Laminate and tile flooring. This apartment will have some low ceiling areas due to heat ducts and there is a tenant upstairs. Noise is typical foot traffic from upstairs unit apartment and a roomba vacuum mid-day. This location is in a very quiet neighborhood
This basement apartment is bright and cozy. A big transformation from before when it was my grandfather's wood shop :-) Located within my grandfather's house that was built in 1934 and I was lucky enough to keep it in the family and make upgrades over the years. There is a full kitchen that is fully supplied with cookware, serving ware and utensils. A crockpot, toaster, microwave, stove/oven, dishwasher and Keurig coffeemaker are provided. A selection of games (yahtzee, cribbage, dominoes, dice, etc) are available for use in the red cabinet. Bedroom linens are provided. Bathroom is fully supplied with towels, all-natural toiletries and a hair dryer. Comcast cable tv and wifi are provided. Extra bed is a twin size memory foam rollaway bed or aerobed style mattress. Full-size washer and dryer available and convenient for longer term stays. This unit is cleaned with all natural-based “green” products.
The Columbia neighborhood is a fantastic walking neighborhood. Except for my block - there are sidewalks throughout. The area is flat and filled with historic homes. Recent breweries have opened up in the nearby Fountain District - about a 15-20 walk. 1.1 miles into downtown core of Bellingham via heading South on Northwest Ave/Dupont. If you have a bike it's only a 30-45 min ride to Fairhaven located in South Bellingham. The Bellingham Airport is only 10-15 minutes by car. If you are into hiking or skiing, the Mt Baker Ski Area is approximately a 60min drive! Check out our airbnb in Glacier! http://abnb.me/EVmg/7KStGpoN7F
  • Amazing apartment! Clean and lots of space.

  • Cassandra's place is exactly as listed. She has fantastic communication, check in and check out were very smooth. Great location nearby a hip coffee spot and bottle shop. Easy to get a ride into whichever part of town you're interested. Bellingham has a lot of charm and you can get to it all from Cassandra's basement apt.

  • This place is awesome! it's nearby Downtown Bellingham. Very lovely home. The host is very nice and quick and easy to get a hold of. The home is very private with modern amenities. It's complete with everything you'll need for a long or short stay. Nice and cozy and very warm inside when it's 30 degrees out. Definetely worth the trip from Los Angeles. Thank you Cassandra for everything we'll definetely use this place again in the future.

  • Had such a great stay! The space was very cute, clean, and spacious. Cassandra was very quick to respond to my messages which I appreciate. Would definitely stay again!

  • Cassandra’s place was spotless! Very roomy. I was thinking that you could not get a hotel room as nice as her apt. Her place was so nice, complete with a gas fireplace and a huge screen tv. The mattress was firm but very comfortable. I hope to come back! The hardwood floors were beautiful. Super nice!

    Chris2018-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cassandra was a great host who made my first time using AirBnB flawless. Her place was more than we could've hoped for on our short stay in beautiful Bellingham. The apartment had everything we needed and was located just a few blocks from the best breweries and coffee shops around. I'll definitely be back to stay again!

  • What a great place to stay in a sweet and popular family neighborhood. Short walk to parks, restaurants, grocery and breweries in the Columbia and Fountain districts, or longer walk or short drive/bus to downtown and beyond. Cassandra's place is well-appointed, comfortable and cozy. This basement apartment is great for sleeping. We cooked a lot and found the kitchen to be well-stocked. It is great to have a washer/dryer too. Large wall-mount TV w Roku and all the stations you could want was a big treat especially during the World Series. There are nice upstairs tenants and you may hear them occasionally. Cassandra has taken care to create a sweet affordable option for enjoying Bellingham life.

    Elizabeth2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very charming Airbnb, spacious and nicely decorated. We very much enjoyed our stay. It had every amenity we needed. We're planning to check and see if it's available next time we're going to be in the area! 5 star!

  • What a wonderful place you both have! We enjoyed meeting both of you and had a relaxing and enjoyable time at your place. Thank you for having us.

  • This has been my most favorite place to stay. Not only were the accommodations perfect to make someone feel at home, but Robin and Robert are incredible, gracious, warm and kind people. The room is set at the end of the hall, with the bathroom being the only other room in the hallway... So both are very private. The room is so cozy and comfortable! It is obvious that a lot of thought and care has been put into making the room feel very homey - there are snacks galore, breakfast of oatmeal and fruit, tea and coffee, a fridge with drinks and yogurt, filtered water... Etc! There's also a lot of information about the surrounding area. The bed is s (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) comfy - I slept harder than I have in a long time! The bathroom is huge and felt luxurious. And as a bonus, if you like cats, this is definitely the place for you. The cats are very adorable and Robin and Robert clearly love animals, which I think is just a testament to how kind-hearted they are. Lastly, I walked to historic fair haven (cute shops and stones throw brewery is awesome) no problem. Also very close to state parks and lakes. Truly, this place is amazing! The room is so cozy and private, the house and its gardens are gorgeous, the cats are adorable and the hosts so generous and kind. Highly recommend!!!

    Alison2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this sweet place! The location is situated on a beautiful piece of property, lush with trees & gardens, 2 lovely cats and high up with a peaceful view of Bellingham Bay. Just down the street is a delightful trail that I followed, which popped right out to a lovely mountain lake. Robin has created a lovely oasis in the room she has for guests. It has everything you need, including a coffee maker & small refrigerator. The room is cozy and colorful, with original art work, some created by herself. The bed was so comfortable and I would sit there in bed with my morning coffee & enjoy a wonderful view. Robin was the perfect host, there if you needed her or wanted conversation or allowing you your own space. Perfect combination for me.

    Monica2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time staying at the R&R Cats and Garden. It was very comfortable and cozy, the location was really convenient, and I really enjoyed having some good conversations with Robin and her spouse. Plus, their cats were super sweet. :) I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming place in Bellingham.

    Sage2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay! Bob and Robin have a nice balance of warmth and friendliness and giving you all the privacy you want or need. The room has everything you need, the bath is very nice, and the cats are friendly while maintaining their cat dignity. Walkable to the historic Fairhaven district (and the dock for the Schooner Zodiac). House also has a great west facing deck for sunsets over the water.

    Charlotte2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place.. and walking distance to a great running trail at the lake

    Corinne2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Robin and Robert gave us our privacy. Accommodations clean, quiet and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and stay again!!

    Carrie2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • This bed is more comfortable than my own. The room is indeed private, being somewhat removed in the home's footprint with a large private bathroom, and also well isolated in sound. The house and room proper are full of original artwork and very inviting. Robin and Robert have taken great care to ensure their guests comfort, providing snacks in the mini fridge and hot cocoa mix by the in room microwave. There are unique and artful nightlights in the hall and bath. Everything is lovingly hand labeled. Downtown Bellingham is very close; it's a 6 minute drive to Film Is Truth. We had a good time, slept well, and felt comfortable and welcomed. I would definitely stay with Robin, Robert, Phaedra, and Penelope again. PS: the views from the deck are wonderful.

  • Deborah is a stellar host! Extremely friendly, informative, and genuinely makes the stay feel comfortable. The house is incredible and spacious, it's a completely separate apartment from the house. I wish we had more time to stay there, we got such a great night sleep! Arrival was super easy, Deborah is very communicative and helpful, and the entire time ensured we had a fantastic visit. Hats off! We'll be back next time we come up North to visit!!! Thank you!

    Drew2015-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah was the ultimate host, from the additional lighting of the walkway when we returned late at night to the many homemade goodies left outside the door in the early AM. Definitely fire stars plus for them. Look forward to a return stay. Thanks Deb !

  • We had a lovely, albeit short, stay. Deborah was so kind and communicative from the second we put in the reservation request. The location was great, the apartment was clean and very comfortable, and Deborah definitely went above and beyond, providing a lovely assortment of breakfast options and happily accommodating our slobbery pooch. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Our stay in Bellingham was amazing due in no small part to the excellent hosting and our wonderful stay in the Garden studio. The studio was super cute, well appointed and very spacious. We had a great sleep on the comfy bed and really enjoyed our breakfast of apples, grapes and tomatoes from the garden. The location was perfect for our bike tour from Canada, and was located very close to downtown and all of the breweries. We will not hesitate to re-book this location next time we come to Bellingham and have no hesitation recommending this location to our friends and family. Bonus: the water pressure in the shower is excellent!

    Aaron2014-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The listing photos accurately depict the cottage. The gardens are beautiful. The cottage is bright, tasteful and colorfully decorated. I liked the lush towels and comfortable bed. We liked the morning sun coming through the French doors. The interior was spacious enough for two simultaneous yoga practices. Be advised this cottage has many wheelchair unfriendly features like a large step up into the bathroom. The attractive kitchen counter is two to three inches higher than normal which short people may find challenging.

    David 2014-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Rakefet's beautiful cottage was decorated in style and situated in a lovely garden. We really like the tile countertops and the great light. Also a very comfortable bed. She was very flexible working with our schedule and responsive. We really enjoyed our stay!

    Doug2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Host was lovely, very kind and generous. The yard and house are adorable and made for the perfect weekend getaway.

    courtney2014-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rakefet was an awesome host with a great garden studio. It was clean, quiet, and inviting. We arrived from spending a few days in much warmer weather and were able to take the window fan out to close it and turn on the space heater later that night. The kitchen was well furnished to prepare dinner which included organic greens from the Community CO OP on Forest St, ice cream from a local dairy, and tomatoes from Rakefet's garden. We were invited to eat anything from the garden and enjoyed yellow plums and grapes but the beauty and tranquility of it all. In Bellingham we enjoyed the waterfront walk, crepes, and dinner at Fiamma Burger. Rakefet has created a wonderful garden getaway I would recommend to anyone.

    Patrick2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Just as described. Loved the backyard and gardens. Enjoyed some great plums, apples, raspberries, and tomatoes. Rakefets communication was perfect and gaining entry was a breeze. Would definitely return.

We welcome all to our home. We are within walking distance of train, bus, the Alaska Ferry as well as restaurants, grocery store and hiking & running trails. Galbraith Mountain is a short drive away and the American Alpine Institute is a short walk away. If you are arriving by train, bus or plane we will be happy to pick you up when you arrive.
This is a daylight basement Studio Apartment with an 8 foot window looking out the front of the house - East. Approximately 400 sq ft + adjacent bathroom. There is a couch, desk to work at, wi-fi, refrigerator, microwave, sink, dining table and a very comfortable leather recliner. It has excellent natural light and a lot of artificial full spectrum light as well. Birds, squirrels, deer, racoon and Matilda may appear right outside your window for your viewing pleasure. Matilda, aka "Her Highness" is the resident cat. Your private bathroom is located right next to your private room. There is also a washer and dryer. You do not have to go through the house to get to the room, your entrance is through the sliding glass door, no steps to navigate. In addition you will be surrounded by beautiful art to make your stay even more enjoyable. There is a queen bed, a good sized refrigerator with a small freezer, a large microwave and a coffee pot. Coffee and tea are provided. Half and half for your coffee upon request.
Because it is a cul-de-sac with only a dozen homes there is little traffic. We know all of the neighbors and we have a yearly party. We have lived here for 24 years and from the very first day we arrived it has been and remains a welcoming, friendly and caring community. You may park in any available space on the street, just not in front of the fire hydrant or mail boxes.
  • Loved it! This was a last minute booking and it completely ticked all the boxes on the standard things: comfortable bed, hot shower, clean and private. There was morning sun in the beautifully decorated enormous room. Birds and garden out the window. Not only that but Rick and Jim were beyond welcoming. Totally above and beyond. The art is amazing and the garden stunning. Their house definitely feels like a haven of culture and tranquility. I would seriously consider a special trip to Bellingham just to stay there again.

    Gabriella2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Rick are incredibly warm, friendly, easygoing yet fully available for information and support when needed. They felt like old friends. Jim was so relaxed about changes we have to make about our arrival due to flight delays, not minding that we arrived near midnight. Their place has all the amenities we needed, and is full of eye candy for art lovers and gardeners alike! The bed was comfortable, the place peaceful and beautiful. Jim and Rich are both so interesting to talk to and hang with. Jim even provided a unique walking tour of Fairhaven, full of lore about the town, and our whole extended family had a great time with him. We will definitely be back to this homey, artistic, inclusive, laid back, clean, organized lodging!

    Bonnie2015-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home and garden. Amazing energy. Comfortable bed. I could've stayed in that room for days. Very cozy and worth the money.

    Allison2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was a delightful host and amazing artist! He made us very welcome, showing us around he and Jim's lovely home and garden, and their many creative endeavors. My son and I were very impressed with the layout, the multitude and variety of artwork displayed, and the attention to ensuring a restful stay.

    Ginny2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Rick were so welcoming and cordial. Their backyard oasis was a joy to see and was so close to the wonderful areas of Fairhaven and Bellingham. If you want to meet good people and enjoy a beautiful neighborhood, I would highly recommend staying with them!

  • What a WONDERFUL place!! Bellingham and Fairhaven was so quaint and such a fun place to get away to! My boyfriend and I were only there 1 night but is was so enjoyable we will definitely be going back!! So that being said, we would love to stay again at Jim and Rick's. What a wonderful welcoming arrival and stay we had. Both met with us as soon as we arrived and were so nice and charming. The room was spacious and clean. Lovely artwork hung on the walls to peruse, some great music piped into the room, plenty of reading material and information about local happenings and places to go. The bed was very comfortable and accommodations were awesome! Jim and Rick gave us great suggestions where to have dinner and they were right Bayou on the Bay was fabulous!! If you need a place to spend a few days or a short get away you will not go wrong with this little stay over! The BF and I are still talking about it and can't wait to go back!!

    Tonya2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I were traveling up to Fairhaven for a family members baby shower. We found Jim and Rick's place on Airbnb and wanted to give it a shot. We were met with excellent communication before even arriving and were kindly met when we arrived. We loved the beautiful artwork and tranquility of their home. The bed was super cozy and we felt right at home! Thank you again for the wonderful stay and we highly recommend people stay here if you are ever visiting Fairhaven.

    Taylor2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Rick's place was very comfortable and located very near to our launching point for our kayak trip, making it very convenient. The hosts are relaxed and fun and I wish I had more time to hang out with them. The The gardens and waterfalls are a fun place to explore and the owner's love for the place really shows. We had a great night sleep in the very comfortable bed. We would definitely stay again when in the area.

    Viola2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely done apartment, super clean works for a quick stay. Only cons: bed was squeaky and would wake our baby up if we breathed. Lack of window coverings. And The heat was forgotten to be turned on before our arrival, it took most of the eve. to warm to comfortable temp. All those can be looked past for the price and location. Cheers Thad

    Blake2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Thad's place was really clean and in a great location. It felt secluded and private but still close enough to the town.

    Shanna2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I really enjoyed our stay here. Thad was friendly and helpful getting our reservation set up for New Year's, and was flexible with check in time because of the holiday. The place is nice and a fantastic bargain. There's a gurgling creek right outside the door and hiking trails we would have explored if it hadn't been 30 degrees out. The space is very clean, well maintained, comfortably heated when we arrived, and hardwood floored. Very private. My only (really minor) criticism is that the bed is creaky but sleeps just fine. I would definitely stay here again.

  • The apartment is exquisite and the location is optimal. Nicole's birds nest has a full size bedroom, living room, kitchen, and even two workspaces. On top of that, each room is so lovely. Easy walk to everything you could want from downtown Bellingham, and a nice pup, too! Definitely recommend

    Matt2018-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's home was clean and in a great location. She was easy to get a hold of and responded very rapidly. She also allowed us to bring our two dogs, which was wonderful and so appreciated! I would highly recommend staying here.

  • Wow!  Warm, cozy, inviting. Come on in, kick your shoes off, breathe, and settle in for a most relaxing visit!  Thank you Nicole for providing everything needed!  Groceries?  The co-op is across the street.  Shopping, dining, and coffee all within a few minutes walk.  Bellingham is charming and friendly.  I enjoyed a peaceful walk to Western Washington University, then zigzagged through town and picked up some chicken pot pies from Man Pies and authentic New York bagels from the Bagelry to take home to my husband and sons.  Came back for dinner at the Temple Bar. Delicious, local food.  I didnt want to leave, but I know, we all must leave the nest sometime!

We were not disappointed! Even though the weather was quite frigid and windy, we found the city easy to explore on foot, especially with the location of Nicole's place. She is literally right around the corner from Aslan Brewing--a very hip place for lunch and a microbrew. The apartment was MUCH bigger than I expected it to be, with gorgeous high ceilings and that old Victorian house feel to it. The interior decoration is artistic, funky and cool but still very cozy! The bed is huge and very comfortable, we spent one whole morning just lounging in it. The television has cable, which we enjoyed in the evenings, being able to kick back with a glass of wine and watch the Winter Olympics. I also dug the clawfoot bathtub in the bathroom. Overall, a really homey feel to the place, spotlessly clean and a killer location for exploring downtown Bellingham. Highly recommended!

  • Absolutely amazing upstairs apartment. Nicole's place is incredibly comfortable (that BED, seriously!), and we wish we could have stayed longer. We both really appreciated her attention to detail, with little hidden pieces of decoration and kitsch everywhere throughout the house. The sunset view from the back porch was a lovely way to end our stay :)

  • Great location! Charming artist's home. Very comfortable.

  • What a wonderful apartment right in downtown Bellingham! It's beautifully decorated with areas for reading, writing, making music, even creating art. A peaceful, cozy place to come home to. I never met Nicole, but she was easy-going to talk with and always responded promptly. Hope to return very soon.

  • I felt right at home in Nicole's home. Great place with fun art and plants everywhere. The location was perfect for being able to walk around downtown Bellingham and up to the WWU campus. Overall a really great experience :).

This quirky place is close to downtown, beach, family-friendly activities, nightlife, public transport & airport. You’ll love being here because of the coziness & location which works for couples + baby, solo adventurers + dog companions. The Garden Guest House is truly tiny, like a small bedroom ~ 120 square feet set in the midst of a glorious .22 acre garden backyard with a lovely Grandmother Willow, Grandfather Vans Cherry, 2 apple, 2 Asian pear + 1 antique Turkish Quince trees.
The edge of the Columbia Neighborhood ~ 2 blocks from Haggen's with Starbucks & outdoor seating + 2 local Taco Trucks within 2 blocks ~ yum! Earl's Bike Shop is a local place to tune up your bike or rent 1 to try out Galbraith Mountain. Goods Produce ~ 2 blocks away, local honey, fruits & veggies ~ luscious! Take a look at our Guidebook for more suggestions ~ parks, beaches, eating spots... enjoy!
  • We enjoyed our stay at Cynthia Lu's place. Very comfortable, beautiful backyard.

  • This was a magical little place to snuggle in on a cold winter night. Incredibly comfy bed, great linens and pillows, lovely to have French press coffee and yogurt for breakfast, and the wind chimes made for a lovely soundtrack. We snuggled in and watched a movie with the nice little stocked array of movies to choose from. Cynthia was incredibly responsible and kind. My son goes to wwu and we live in the Midwest, will definitely be back next time we visit.

    Maren2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia's cottage was exactly as described. Very cozy and includes all of the amenities that one might want for a weekend or longer. Cynthia was incredibly flexible with checking me in and took the time to go over cottage "quirks" with me when I arrived. I'd stay again!

    Brenna2017-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying with Cynthia, it was perfect for my two dogs. The yard was wonderful and they had lots of room to run around and play. Cynthia was lovely, very welcoming and accommodating. The house IS a tiny house, smaller than I expected but it was all we needed.

    Michelle2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia has set up a beautiful retreat in her magical garden space. So cozy and lovely. Set up with all the comforts you need. So blessed to have stayed here.

  • Cynthia was a fantastic host and made us feel right at home. The cabin is very cozy and had everything we needed. The yard is also one of the most peaceful places to relax. The location is great. You are just out of the main part of town while still very close to everything. We plan to stay there when we come back 10/10.

    Sam2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • I didn't get to meet Cynthia during my stay, but she was very responsive before and during my time in Bellingham. Everything in the tiny house was as pictured. It's amazing how Cynthia has organized the space to accommodate many needs including light food preparation with a microwave, small fridge, dishes... Showering is a little challenging as the hand held shower needs to be attached to the sink faucet first, but this actually made for a fun experience. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept very well. The house is located in a cute and very safe neighborhood and it was easy to get around by bus. The tiny house was ideal for me as a solo traveler.

  • A private oasis with a dreamy bed in a gorgeous yard. Walkable to downtown yet feels secluded when you're in the yard. It was a peaceful happy weekend and I would love to return.

A small, private, cozy studio less than a mile walking distance of both downtown Bellingham and WWU campus.
This studio is small. It's a mini space. 300 square feet tops. We love the cabin-like feel of the place. Recently, we've replaced the carpet with hardwood flooring, updated the electrical and gave it a new paint job. Updates to the bathroom and kitchen are coming soon. It is most suitable for 1-2 people, but the futon couch can be used as a second "bed" making the studio available to groups of up to four.
The best part about York neighborhood is our proximity to both downtown bellingham and WWU campus (both are within a mile). There are also several neighborhood diners, pubs and restaurants all within a 1/2 mile that are great places to unwind after enjoying bellingham. We recommend both Nelson's market and MacKay's tap house. Due to our proximity to campus, there are many students in the area. Generally they are quite but can host loud parties from time to time.
  • Very nice place and location. You could not ask for better hosts, location or value in bellingham

  • I had an amazing time at Chris and Amy's. The cottage was absolutely perfect to stay at for our Mount Baker skiing adventure. The cottage was well equipped and had a wonderful deck that if it was warmer it would have been lovely to use. The driveway was smaller, but accomdated our Audi SUV just fine. The location was easy to get to from off the highway. Chris and Amy also provided us with some great recommendations of places to eat. Thanks again for everything!

We are excited to share our 900 Square Foot Historic Fairhaven Cabin in Bellingham WA with you. We are located one block up from the train, bus, and Alaska ferry terminals. Walking distance to Fairhaven central (5 min walking on the interurban trail) where one will find restaurants, shopping, fantastic book stores, and a grocery store. We are one block up from Community Boatworks where one can rent kayaks, paddle boards etc.. We are next to the interurban trail, which connects one to many parks, and hikes, and downtown Bellingham. In less than 5 minutes you can walk to Marine Park a lovely beach where the locals go to catch a spectacular sunset this time of year. Walk the beautiful Boulevard Park Boardwalk just past Fairhven The cabin has a kitchen, full bathroom upstairs, and an extra toilet only down stairs. The cabin is heated by a cozy gas fireplace but there is an extra radiator upstairs. For sleeping, there is a king size bed, full size pull out sofa, and an airbed. The bedroom and full bathroom are upstairs, and one needs to be able to navigate a spiral staircase. If you have small children, a stairway approved baby gate can be placed at the top of the staircase. Coffee and tea are provided. If you are in need of grocery items prior to your arrival, please let us know, and we will try to assist you. Well behaved house trained, friendly dogs are welcome. Animals that are left unattended in the cabin may be adopted by us (just kidding) :) Please count your furry companion as an 3rd guest when booking. This helps cover the additional cleaning costs. We want to keep the cabin allergy free. If your dog is too interested in the rabbit hutch and chicken coop; will have to be tied up if left in the yard unattended. No cats please (cat allergies) If you find the cabin is missing something you need during your stay, please Text, e-mail, or come knock at your back doors and I will try to find you what you need a.s.a.p. WiFi is available. The cabin does not have a T.V. or a stereo. We hope to add speakers that can hook up to a mobile device soon! Our family lives in the main house on the property. We have two younger kids, a one year-old dog who is friendly, 4 chickens, and a rabbit who likes to hop around in his round pen. Feel free to peek in the coop for eggs. We also have an herb garden, please help yourself.
  • Kathryn is very friendly! We arrived late on a Friday and she greeted us and gave us all of the fun tips about the local spots to go. She also was non intrusive during our stay but quickly responded to text message questions I presented. I would highly recommend this guesthouse! It is a great spot for 2-4 people.

    Daniel2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute little cabin. Slept 3 ok, with one pull-out couch downstairs - quick note that the bathroom is located inside the upstairs bedroom. The upstairs bedroom is separate due to a spiral staircase but there is no door. Not a problem for us at all, just providing info about the sleeping situation forcanyone who needs it. The space feels homey and comfortable & kitchen included all the dishes & pans needed to cook dinner one night.

    Jilian2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We were warmly greeted by Kathryn and her family (including friendly pets). The cabin is very cozy and inviting, especially on a cool rainy day. The full kitchen and gas fireplace made it hard to go out in the rain! Fresh flowers in vases, the cabin's rustic quality, unique spiral staircase, and loft, make it a "one of a kind" experience. We also liked how close it was to Fairhaven's downtown area and the Marine park on the ocean. Overall, it was a very relaxing weekend and we will definitely stay there again!

    Kaye2014-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our family hugely enjoyed our four night stay at Kathryn and Paul's beautiful and well-located two story guesthouse in Fairhaven, only a few blocks from Amtrak and a short, beautiful bike ride to Bellingham along the gravel interurban trail... Paul met us at the train station (we were late getting in), and drove our kids and bags back to his home. The guesthouse is in a private, green yard with chickens, dogs, a rabbit, grape arbors, and a small monkey puzzle tree. There is a winding wood staircase to the second floor, and plenty of space for two adults and two teenagers... From Fairhaven you can easily explore all of Bellingham - and the city has a fantastic network of gravel bike/hiking trails, and convenient bus lines. Our youngest fractured his collarbone before we left, so he and his brother used transit, while we met them places on bikes. Worked great! We would highly recommend the Chuckanut Guesthouse - many thanks to Kathryn & Paul and cheers!

  • Kathryn and family (dogs included!) were very welcoming and helpful. The Guesthouse itself was impeccably clean, full of character, and in a lovely yard with lots of beautiful flowers (and we were the recipient of a vase-full of them!). There were a couple things we had questions about while there and each time we sent a message we got quick replies. Because of the Guesthouse itself, and it's close proximity to downtown Fairhaven, this was the perfect place for us to call home for a long weekend.

    Jen2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The guesthouse was perfect! We were in town to get our son settled into the dorm at WWU and the first couple of nights he slept on the fold out couch very comfortably. It was nice that we could sleep upstairs and he could have his own space downstairs to sleep. The place was cozy yet spacious, and the hosts were attentive without being intrusive. We never actually met them until we were checking out. They were able to accommodate our last minute, one day early arrival with no problem. We highly recommend staying here. It felt like home. The place was very quiet, with the exception of the occasional train horn. The cute bathroom upstairs has plenty of storage, they provided all towels and linens necessary, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bed is a bit on the soft side, but I know some people love that. All the furnishings were tasteful and comfortable. The garden provided the feel of a country sanctuary, yet it is conveniently located near the cute downtown of Fairhaven and a short distance to WWU and Bellingham. We loved the Chuckanut Guesthouse and will definitely stay there again. We hope to interact with Kathryn and Paul more next time! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

    Jill2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kathryn's home was amazing for my stay. It was walkable to Fairhaven, quiet and peaceful. The house was clean, well kept, and totally charming. They were amazing hosts -- check in was smooth and they set up the air mattress for our additional guests. Overall I would highly recommend this spot for a weekend away in Bellingham!

    Georgia2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Not only does Kathryn host an amazing cabin but the energy of the whole family including Buttercup was so welcoming! I had an amazing two days of retreat time for myself. This was the perfect place for me to be. Cabin was comfortable, beautiful, and unique. Grounds are lush and peaceful. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience for me!

Our newly renovated Basement Studio is awesome for anyone that is looking for a clean, modern space close to downtown Bellingham. In the historic Lettered Streets neighborhood, walk to all the great breweries and restaurants. Although this house was built in the late 1800's... the studio is new, bright, and a perfect getaway. It has it all: King Size bed, a gorgeous walk-in shower, and a mud-room to store outdoor bikes, boards, skis, and kayaks. More photos coming soon!
This space has been 100% renovated! Every aspect is new, fresh, and clean. It is the bottom floor of a 3 story home that was built in 1886! The front door opens directly to the driveway, so there is no need to haul your luggage very far. Full kitchen is provided, with a full size stove, sink, and refrigerator. We also provide a Keurig coffee maker. and moderate cooking supplies. We provide simple amenities to make you feel at home, such as a hair dryer, iron, and desk space. We also love to give people a feel for the historic charm of our old Bellingham neighborhood, so we have incorporated historic black and white photos from the Whatcom Museum. We also love the vintage inspired record player to add some ambience to the space and hope guests enjoy a record or two while they are here.
  • This this space is a fun combination of northwest coastal rustic charm and modern chic! Great touches, great location to Bellingham sites and attractions. Would reccomend this space to anyone!

  • What a charming apartment! It is bright, cheery and roomy. I am in awe of Lindsy’s design and decorating talents. The apartment is beyond comfortable with attention to detail in decorating that is both artistic and warm. The bed is comfy as are the seating areas. Loved the shower! The location is ideal, within easy walking distance to downtown. Lindsy in a very thoughtful, responsive host. She provided us with great restaurant suggestions and called us to let us know we could check in early. She responded immediately to any questions we had. You will love staying in this wonderful apartment.

The Hobbit Hideaway was a lovely spot, exactly as described! The area is charming in the best wet-west-coast kind of way this time of year, and we were so cozy in this little space. It is clear that Alison has gone above and beyond to make this space welcoming and comfortable. Everything was beautiful, and this might have been the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! A perfect mix of luxury and roughing it.

Amy and Dan were great hosts. Accommodating, and allowed us to check in earlier- dropping off luggage and perishables so we could go out and explore. A cozy and comfortable cottage with great water pressure in the shower and a neat little kitchenette with everything you need to cook a meal- very convenient. Cottage is close to Deception Pass and Whidbey makes for a great day out! Beautiful sunset view from the cottage porch.

Dixie is a jewel of a host! She has created a wonderful ambiance in her home that invites conversation and relaxation in a beautiful environment. The guest rooms are immaculate and have all the amenities anyone could hope for. The bathroom ditto. Dixie herself is very charming and friendly and cooks a great breakfast! Her house is just minutes away from good restaurants by car and only 10 minutes from downtown Bellingham with all it's attractions. Her persian cat Smoky is a bundle of soft grey love. It was with the utmost regret that I refrained from sneaking him into an empty bag and taking him home with me when I left. All in all a great experience. I recommend Dixie's place to anyone passing through or near Bellingham.
