We designed the Guest House for friends and family and we love sharing the space with people traveling to Bellingham. Within walking distance of both Western Washington University and downtown Bellingham--both are within a mile--the Guest House is a convenient, private and affordable option when visiting the City of Subdued Excitement. Please note that the Guest House is quite small (200sf), it has a queen bed in the loft and a full sized futon on the main floor.
This small space (200sf) is great for an affordable, private stay in Bellingham. We offer a queen bed in the loft and a full sized futon couch/bed on the main floor. Therefore, the space can accommodate four, but is not ideal as the space is small. We do offer a fridge on the porch and a coffee pot, but there is NO kitchen. Guests should also be aware that the lofted bed has sturdy, ladderesque stairs. However, there is not a lot of head room in the loft and it can be difficult to navigate especially if you are elderly or disabled or exceptionally tall. If you are not comfortable with stairs we can certainly set up the futon or we recommend finding more suitable accommodations.
The best part of the neighborhood (York) is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown Bellingham and Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying Bellingham. Bellingham has also become a destination for craft beer with about 15 breweries and several tap houses--many are located less than a mile from the Guest House. You should also note that the neighborhood is well represented by University students who occasionally exhibit normal University student energy.
  • We loved staying at Chris and Amy's. The place was ready for us early, which was nice. We stopped there to eat our lunch before heading north to Birch Bay. They left some cool drinks and some treats (big hit with my boys!). Wasn't sure about the neighborhood since we don't know much about Bellingham but it was totally fine. Got lots of smiles and hellos from folks as we walked into town. Safety is always a concern with me when I travel alone with my kids, but I felt totally safe at their place. It was comfortable and cozy and the din of the traffic on I-5 was barely noticeable.

  • Loved this quaint place. It was homey and inviting. Great communication from the hosts and easy to find. Loved the little presents left for us from Chris and Amy. Will definitely stay here again when traveling to Bellingham!

  • The place was very comfortable. Chris and Amy reach out to you to make sure you have everything you need. Great access and parking.

  • Chris and Amy's spot is perfect for a night or two in Bellingham for two travelers. The place is clean and thoughtfully decorated, and the complimentary beverages to greet us were tops! We were there in winter, but I'm sure sitting on the porch in summer would be a great way to rest after an afternoon of hiking or exploring.

  • Stayed here to visit my daughter at WWU. Perfect location by the campus and downtown. Easy walking distance to so many places and it’s in a very nice area of town. Chris and Amy were extremely responsive and have put together a cute spot that I will most definitely stay in again.

    Kris2018-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy were great hosts. Their guest house was full small touches, from the welcome drinks, to the handy instructions and local recommendations. Would definitely recommend their place to friends for a weekend away to check out the local restaurants and breweries.

    Sarah2018-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and small place and really loved the bed. I slept so well up in that loft bed. Definitely not a place for big people. It was perfect for me though. Easy to get in and out of and convenient entrance in the back.

    Wendy2018-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy made my stay very comfortable. I loved the neighborhood and the set up of staying here. It was very private which I enjoyed because Chris and Amy were respectful of a traveler's need for rest. It was also extremely welcoming and great to know they were available to their guests' needs. The porch was lovely, the bed was comfy, the book collection was on point. I highly recommend this cozy home away from home!

Amy and I have recently updated this turn of the century, 800+ sf character home. The Bungalow is located within walking distance of both WWU (1 mile) and downtown Bellingham (1 mile) and the neighborhood boasts several great breweries and dining options. The bungalow is located on a dead end, single-family zoned street and is a great option for someone looking for a private, centrally located and affordable neighborhood place to stay while visiting Bellingham.
This house is a turn of the century character home in the York neighborhood. We have relished the opportunity to fix it up. Major updates have been made to the roof and electrical. I installed new hardwood to the foyer, living room, bedroom #2 and the dining room. Both the exterior and interior have fresh coats of paint and I replaced the front porch. The kitchen could use an update but is clean and has fully functional appliances and is stocked with everything you need to cook. Sorry, no dishwasher.
The best part about York neighborhood is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown bellingham or Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying bellingham. • Really convenient for us to catch an early flight. Great communication and loved the bottle of wine! Would stay again

  • I really wanted to stay!! There is something special about Chris and Amy's place that makes you feel so welcomed, cozy, and relaxed. It is quaint, very simple and clean, quiet, and so comfortable. We would love to go back again someday! Bellingham is gorgeous. If I had a student at Western Washington, this would be my first choice as a place to (Website hidden by Airbnb) much better than a cramped, generic hotel room!

    Julie2016-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable beds. Nice kitchen. Nice living room area. I highly recommend for the price.

    Kathleen2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is an older home (used to be student housing) in Bellingham that has been lovingly updated and beautifully decorated by Chris and Amy. Though only 800 sq. ft., it feel more spacious due to the smart color choices and furniture arrangement. Comfy beds, lots of extras (wine, toothbrush, razors, shampoo...). We were close to downtown and never spent more than 5 minutes in the car getting from here to there. Really great place and apparently they're still working on it!

    Susan2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy were great hosts.Their bungalow was more spacious than we expected and it had everything we needed. We were a party of 3 adults and had plenty of (Website hidden by Airbnb) did not cook any meals , but you certainly could. I’m picky about bathrooms and this one was very clean with nice amenities. This home is a great value for families!

  • Chris and Amy’s place was amazing! They set up the place to make you feel at home and very welcomed. I highly recommend them. Probably best Airbnb I’ve stayed at.

The Pleasant Bay Lookout is a private room with a spectacular view, nestled in the trees. Guests access our family's home (where we live full time) for kitchen, bathroom, living room, hot tub, and other household amenities. We feel fortunate to welcome guests to this tucked-away oasis of peace and beauty. Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us - we only accept requests from those with complete profiles who let us know they've read our entire listing description. Thank you!
The Pleasant Bay Lookout is nestled in a forest overlooking the Salish Sea. Its stunning beauty and simplicity have been showcased widely, including on Airbnb's Instagram, in local magazines and on many websites. The Lookout is simple: one room (121 square feet) with a comfortable recliner, a modern sofa that converts to a bed, a glass wall with a breathtaking view, and a deck to experience the sound of the sea, songbirds and sun, rain and shifting clouds firsthand. As one guest said: "The space is small in footage but huge on character and coolness. The back wall is all glass. It leads out to a deck and offers a beautiful view of the woods and the bay. The view makes the whole room feel as big as the whole out of doors." We care about beauty, connection, real things, and the Lookout reflects that; much of its features were made by us or locally sourced. There is a branched tree from our property to hang your coat, a live edge coffee table made by Peter, and thoughtfully chosen art on the walls. In the main house - which you'll share with us, as we live there full time - you'll eat at a handcrafted breakfast bar, use Aimee's homemade soap in the shower, and enjoy a fire with wood from our property. Note that there is no bathroom in the Lookout - it's a 40 second walk to the bathroom in the house, which is open 24/7 for your use. The common trend for visitors to the Lookout is to arrive and cast off any plans they have: most seem to fall into the state described in Italian as "La Dolce Far Niente - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing." The main house is a 30 second walk from the Lookout. We live in the house, and are grateful to share it with Lookout guests from all over the world. Though fifty years old, it is comfortably modern, built on a forested bluff above a picturesque bay with a simple design and architecture that integrates with its surroundings. Most walls of the house are made of glass, making a moving painting with the flight of birds, trees dancing in the wind, moonlight and dappled sunlight - it truly is a feast for the senses. The sensory delight increases when you go outside the Lookout or house – the forest is alive with songbirds, shorebirds, raptors and peekaboo views. Raccoon and deer wander through, and Chuckanut Mountain trails and beaches are a short walk, bike ride, paddle or drive away. There are many options for nature excursions and adventures right outside our door. The Pleasant Bay Lookout is ideal for nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, and those who want simple accommodations in a beautiful natural setting. • Note that the Lookout and our home are nestled in the trees, but not built IN a tree like a typical treehouse. • Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us, so please let us know you've read our entire listing description and understand the arrangement between Lookout and main house when you send a booking request. Thank you!
With Chuckanut Mountain behind us and the Salish Sea in front, hikers, bikers, and kayakers will find easy access to all three activities from the studio. The Interurban Trail is just up the road. Heading south on the Interurban you'll reach the trails, lakes and seashore of 2683-acre Larrabee State Park in five minutes; walking north, you can stroll or bike five miles to town if you'd like, all on a forested trail overlooking the sea. Launching a boat from a nearby area will bring you to a beautiful coastline, with Chuckanut Island as the gem of Chuckanut Bay. For years, our family has been the caretakers of this special place, owned by the Nature Conservancy. The world renowned beauty of Chuckanut Drive is moments away – enjoy it by bicycle or car. The quaint village-within-the-city of Fairhaven is 10 minutes and downtown Bellingham is 20 minutes by car (if you lack a vehicle, we're happy to carpool the short distance to town as we're able). The Skagit Valley is just 20 minutes south along Chuckanut Drive. Venturing east, you can reach the glorious mountains, rivers, and waterfalls of the North Cascades in just over an hour. Driving west, you can be on a ferry to the pristine San Juan islands in under an hour. If you'd like, you can touch a glacier and enjoy a picnic on a beach in the same day! The Chuckanut area and Bellingham region are an outdoor recreation and nature lovers' paradise. We're the Northwest epicenter for sea, mountain, lake, and river activities, as well as island hopping and visiting local farms of every variety (vineyards, vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy). If you'd prefer a more urban vacation, Bellingham has great markets, diverse shopping opportunities, varied restaurants and nightlife, great local breweries, and one of the most beautiful university campuses in Washington state. We're situated equidistant to Vancouver BC and Seattle, so big city attractions are just a 90 minute drive away.
  • My husband and I had a great stay at Aimee and Peter's charming little lookout. The room is pretty small - maybe 10x10 - but almost an entire wall is glass with an amazing view, and two of the other three walls have windows, too. You are literally surrounded by nature, and it's pretty amazing. The private beach is a quick walk down the hill - less than five minutes - and the hot tub was a delightful luxury. Aimee and Peter are such sweet and gracious hosts; they made us toast and coffee, and gave us lots of suggestions for local places to visit. Their home is so beautiful and connected to nature. We felt lucky to have found their place and had such a great experience staying with them. Things to be aware of: their property is right next to some train tracks, so we were awakened during the night a few times by the train. Also, it's a bit of a trek to the bathroom, which is located in the main house. While it's not a long trek, it does require putting on shoes, going out in the chill, then taking off shoes again once you're in the main house. For our one night stay it didn't bother us too much, but it would probably start to matter for a longer stay.

  • Aimee was a great host (we only met Peter briefly in passing). Informative and accomodating. The space was just as described, and really is a beautiful and special place.

    Carni2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • To start off, the Lookout and property in general is just unbelievable, a true getaway for anyone. Between the remarkable view, awesome little path that takes you down to a private beach, and just beautiful facilities, this was something truly special. Aimee and her whole family are simply fantastic, just so welcoming and inviting that it will make anyone comfortable. Hands down, just awesome people in general. We brought a nice dinner that we were able to prepare in the main house with the use of their pots, pans...etc, which was really nice. I highly encourage anyone who is looking for an experience unlike anything else, to check this place out! You will never regret it. Huge thanks again to the Frazier family!!

    Daniel2014-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay exceeded our wildest expectations. The Lookout was gorgeous, clean, and stocked with local hiking maps and descriptions. Aimee, Peter, and their family were very warm and inviting and eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I cannot recommend this space highly enough.

    Brittney2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter are amazing! The area is so peaceful and full of areas to explore. The bed is extremely comfortable and the view is spectacular! We feel so lucky to have found such nice place to get away and with such nice hosts. We are planning to visit again very soon.

  • My wife Charmaine and I were looking for a 2 night getaway some where close to the Canada border. When we saw the listing for the treehouse we knew we had to go. My wife was sort of apprehensive about the idea of sharing a bathroom and a kitchen with others but that quickly changed when we got there and saw the beauty of the the land and how Peter and Aimee welcomed us. They have lovingly designed their home, the studio and the lookout to provide comfort and appear to be a part of the forest. Peter and Amie were more than willing to accommodate our needs but also respected our privacy while we were there. Our treehouse had a breathtaking view of the ocean and the balcony was an enjoyable place to spend time late at night sitting and enjoying the view. Our purpose on coming was for a shopping trip in Bellingham but we plan to return again to enjoy the nature. Also on another note we took a short walk down a trail to Peter and Amies private beach. Thank you for one of the most memorable getaways that we have ever had.

    Timothy2014-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Lookout was great for us. As described in the listing. Small with trains going by and a tremendous view. House with kitchen, bathroom, and hot tub super close and hosts very welcoming and friendly. Stay here for relaxing atmosphere, close access to town and chuckanut mountain.

    Wesley2015-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • The listing is modest. This is a completely splendid, special place. It reflects people who love the land and are caretakers of this intimate, charming domain.

A little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled creek side with a wide view of the bay. A huge garden to explore and graze from, cozy greenhouse, chicken tree house for the hens, kayaks to paddle into the bay, private hot tub, large fire pit, and BBQ.
This is a classy little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled literally creek side. This dynamic hangout beckons you to kick up your feet in the eclectic garden with curvy raised beds and a chicken tree house. We also have a gorgeous little greenhouse built from mostly up-cycled materials. Come collect your own eggs and graze from the garden, and stay a while. Hot tub and >5 kayaks available. We list the Hobbit House currently as a two night minimum stay. However, occasionally we have single nights left available, and you CAN make a request for those. We do have an upcharge of $30 for those single nights to cover for the extra cleaning. The cottage echos the designer main house, connected by boardwalk and lovely private garden. Hostess is a horticulturalist who loves to share creative thoughts. Watch the tides change, and smell the salt air, pick some greens for your salad from the garden and treat your palate to some fresh flavors. This retreat is ideal for one or two guests, as there is just one queen-size bed. Children are welcome as well, but please note that this space is small-- we call it the Hobbit House for a reason!-- and it is not child-proofed. The Hobbit House has a nice little galley (kitchen) inside with a mini fridge, two-burner hot plate, and toaster/convection oven. The kitchen is stocked with fresh eggs from our chickens, coffee & tea with all the fixings, a few other breakfast goodies, and cooking essentials (spices, olive oil, etc.) all included in the price of your visit! We appreciate if you eat red meat to BBQ it outside in the outdoor kitchen area adjacent to the Hobbit House. This small cedar building also houses the shower, which has a limited hot water tank. Please note that showers must be kept short! We provide environmentally friendly shower products for you to use, as the water drains into the garden. The space feels very beachy/nautical. Please note that we have a composting toilet. We have a high sensitivity to this marine environment and our mutual stewardship of this special retreat.
Incredible little historic village setting. Old and young, a blend of very friendly, mellow dog lovers.
  • Alison was super friendly and welcoming, and the little house was darling. It seems like you can see the creek and/or the bay from every room, and hearing the salmon splashing as I fell asleep was magical. The bed was super comfortable! The hot tub was not bad, either :) Would definitely stay here again.

    Cathy2012-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Alison is a beautiful person and her home is a paradise. The Hobbit Hideway is a restorative space to hang out, sit in the hot tub, walk along the estuary or visit the chicken coop. The space is calm, welcoming and very comfortable. Alison is a marvelous host and spares no details to make the experience top rate. This is our second time staying at the HH and we will certainly be back for more.

    Randy2014-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! It was cozy and delightful. Allison was an incredible host and the kitchen had more than everything we needed. At night you can hear the creek and trains rumbling by in the distance (all very soothing). It feels very private and the outdoor shower was awesome (totally enclosed and even when it was 35 degrees felt warm). We can only imagine how amazing this place is in the summer when the gardens are booming. Thank you!

    Alexa2015-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Hobbit House! Alison was very welcoming and helpful and the place was very cozy. It was a wonderful setting and felt very peaceful. We loved the hot tub and we always enjoy the Fairhaven area! We would definitely visit again!

    Katie2014-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • If you are a type of person who saw that this listing was called "Hobbit House" and were curious enough to click on it, you really should stay here. Alison was a wonderful host, and has set up a lovely space. One wall of the cottage is almost entirely a single window overlooking a stream, while another includes double doors that open onto the lawn, with its raised garden beds, dozen chickens, and view of the bay. Alison offered me fresh eggs from the chickens, and was communicative throughout my stay. I'm very much looking forward to my next visit -- the Hobbit House is quiet in a way I didn't realize I was hearing.

    Jacob2015-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived to a wonderful little Chalkboard sign with our names on it. It was a sweet little addition to our welcoming as we were greeted by Alison's daughter and assistant and were shown around the Hobbit House. We loved the hot tub, the bed was so extra comfy and perfect!!! Tony's coffee and creamer were a great bonus as well as the eggs and biscuits!!! Thanks for the wonderful stay and the use of your bike.

    Daniel2015-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • In this life occasionally you get to visit/stay at special places very rarely. Those places are created by special people. Such was the case with my stay at the Hobbitt house. To borrow a line from an Edith Wharton novel, "the place like the person was warm, genial, and friendly." In all actuality, it is much more than that. It is a beautiful abode in a beautiful location, maintained by an esquitely caring and wonderful host.

    Marty2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Hobbit Hideaway. It was very secluded and quite, with a beautiful view of a bay and lots of flowers in the backyard. Alison was a wonderful host and very friendly and accommodating. She provided us fresh eggs from her hen house and wonderful muffins for breakfast. The cool breeze off the bay was nice. SK

Our studio is close to everything Bellingham has to offer. Just blocks from downtown, we are walking distance from nightlife, museums, restaurants, parks, and the waterfront. We know you'll dig the location! We love our Lettered Streets neighborhood, our view of the Bay, and proximity to all the good stuff. You'll feel at home with a private entrance, full kitchen, and washer/dryer. With tons of historic charm, yet a newly renovated space, this is the perfect spot to enjoy this quirky fun town!
This is the third floor of a 19th century home. There are two sets of stairs, and electronic locks to access your private studio. The studio has a full kitchen, and we provide the basics to cook simple items. If guests want to do more extensive cooking, we are happy to provide the tools, however we do not keep everything in the unit, nor do we keep any food or condiments. If you have the need for more specialty cooking tools, we ask that the guest communicates this need. This also goes for basic household items such as irons, hairdryers, etc. We are minimalists in many ways, but can always share/provide these items. We provide coffee and tea (Keurig) as well has a hot-pot for water. The space has a QUEEN size bed. The living room couch is a small futon that folds into a bed. We do not advertise this as a second bed because it is not a typical "bed". It has worked for many guests with children, or adults who don't mind their feet hanging off the edges. If you have questions about this additional bed, please message us.
Lettered Streets is an awesome neighborhood if you like to be close to downtown restaurants, bars, and businesses. We often walk to the farmers markets or to brunch, and appreciate that we are one of the closest neighborhoods to downtown Bellingham. We love all the breweries, tap-houses, and coffee shops that are blocks away from our house! It is also ideal because it is a short distance (less than a mile) from the waterfront and the Marina (Squalicum Harbor). The fact that we can walk less than a mile to the marina to inspect the yachts, watch the sunset at Zuanich park, or driftwood hunt along Squalicum Beach is a real luxury! We love our location so much, but we still feel it is important to note that because we are only blocks from downtown, parks, restaurants and the waterfront, we have some proximity to areas where the homeless population of Bellingham will congregate. As with any downtown area nationwide, homelessness is rising. It is unfortunate, but we cannot change this fact until certain systemic issues are addressed in our country. And Bellingham, even though picturesque and charming, shares the same disparity in living wage/home prices that the entire west coast is experiencing. However, we love living so close to downtown and have NO issues with our neighborhood. It is considered a desirable and very safe area to live. However, we like to give everyone a heads up... especially those folks that like to ignore that homelessness indeed exists in America. For more info on the Lettered Streets neighborhood feel free to visit: https://www.cob.org/services/planning/neighborhoods/Pages/lettered-streets.aspx
  • Lindsy and Eli's upstairs is such a gem of a place. Not only were we super comfortable, but I have a ton of remodel inspiration for when we get home. They were easy to reach, had a slew of great ideas on places to go, and we had everything we could need and more. I'd definitely come here again when in Bellingham.

    Carrie2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsy and Eli's place was very cute and comfortable for our weekend in Bellingham. It was close to everything, and Lindsy provided many suggestions for places to visit.

  • a cozy, blissed out oasis in a great location. Lindsy and Eli provided a wonderful list of local favorites and were very accommodating in response time. the space is lush with plants, incredibly clean, provides all of your basic necessities, with thoughtful touches-- (coffee + candles, oh my!) the occasional train sounds didn't interfere with my relaxing stay one bit! will definitely be staying here again on my next Bellingham adventure.

Enjoy this cheery light filled space with a separate kitchen. Located close to Fairhaven, WWU, Downtown Bellingham, and trails that lead to Chuckanut Mtn, the bay and WWU. Let this be your hub for all you want to experience while in Whatcom County.
This space is attached to the main house where I live. There is an always locked door in the hallway between the two spaces for privacy. There are 3 different rooms which make it more than a traditional studio. The large room has a queen bed and a sitting area. There is an outside entrance to this room with a low deck that looks over the backyard and the garden. This is a great place to sit and watch the sunset. There are 3 steps up from this room into the hallway. Off the hallway there is a bathroom with a large shower (no tub) and another room for a small kitchen with a microwave, a countertop convection toaster oven, a refrigerator, a hot pot and an assortment of cooking and eating dishes and utensils. There is a second outside entrance into the kitchen. I provide tea as well as coffee beans with a grinder and a drip system with an insulated carafe. I also have basic condiments such as mustard, ketchup, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. I have added an option for a third guest with the use of a 4" foam trifold single size mattress that could be placed on the floor next to the queen bed. This is for guests that want to bring a child or friends that may not want to share the queen bed. Please be aware that this is not a real bed and choose this option with that knowledge.
Wren House is conveniently located close to many popular locations. We are 1 mile from a 24-hour major grocery store in a shopping center with a pharmacy, restaurants, hardware, and REI. We are 1.5 miles from Fairhaven with many shops and restaurants, 1.5 miles from WWU, 2.5 miles to downtown Bellingham with shops, restaurants and award-winning brew pubs, and just 2 blocks to a Greenways Trail that takes you to the Chuckanut Mountains or to Bellingham Bay or WWU.
  • Sue was the best, really friendly and corteus to us. Her place was impecable, very cozy and clean. Has a beautiful garden in a really nice and natural area.

  • Wren House Studio is an exceptional find. If you're in the Bellingham area for any reason, you should stay here! The bathroom was well stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap and local coffee and snacks were available for guests. The interior of the studio is clean and beautiful but waking up to a view of Sue's garden was sublime. Absolutely recommend this place and would stay again if I'm ever in this part of the world again.

    Bianca2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the Wren House! Secluded and quiet, but still centrally located. The space was clean and organized, providing amenities like coffee, cream, oatmeal, toiletries, etc. I also very much appreciated the heated floor in the bathroom. It was cozy, homey, and was a very enjoyable stay. I would easily stay here again!! Although I didn’t interact with Sue at all she was very good with communicating and everything was very straight forward. A wonderful place to stay :)

    Catherine2018-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great value. Very nice cozy space. Comfortable foam topped mattress. Well appointed. Loved the short walk to the beautiful public forested walking path. Would definitely stay again.

  • Wren House was exactly what we wanted. A quiet cozy spot, just a short drive to Bellingham. Sue was a great communicator and the place was immaculate. Thanks for having us!

  • Very clean and cozy. Guest house is close to main house, but Heather is very respectful of privacy. From the inside, it gives it feeling of being tucked away in the forest. Very easy check-in/check-out, didn't have to meet host in person. Heather is very responsive to messages if you need anything though.

The NOMAD'S NEST is a charming private studio with a kitchenette, bathroom, & communal hot tub. It is an eco-friendly & globally inspired space entirely crafted by us with thoughtful touches throughout. Our guests often comment that it has been their favorite airbnb experience. We welcome nomadic travelers from across the globe! Please note that you climb a flight of stairs to reach it. We charge an additional one time fee of $25 if you require the set up of the sofa bed.
Thoughtfully custom built & decorated by us. We sourced our local RE-Store for materials, our nomadic adventures, & creativity. Guests have described our space by using the word “hygge,” a Danish term defined as “a quality of coziness and comfort that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being.” Pronounced “hoo-guh,” the word has no direct translation in English, though “cozy” comes close. We think this word perfectly captures what we strive for. The Nest provides a cozy retreat for a couple or solo traveler. It can also accommodate a third adult/child on a sofa bed (1 x set up fee of $25).
Sunnyland voted BEST neighborhood in Bellingham by the Cascadia Weekly. Our neighborhood, while not fancy, is funky, artsy, and low-key! That is why we love it. A few things that put us on the "best" neighborhood list are: Trader Joe's (groceries), Kulshan Brewery (best IPA), The Home Skillet (voted best breakfast), & the Sunnyland Stomp (Neighborhood Art Walk in July).
  • My girlfriend and I loved how relaxing and quiet the Nomads Nest was. We were looking for a nice get away from Seattle and got exactly that! We really noticed the attention to detail spent making the Nest unique. Keri and Ant were fantastic hosts by providing a complimentary bottle of wine and toiletries we had forgotten. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend others to do so!

    Ben2014-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! Could not have been any cuter, I definitely stole a million and one decorating ideas. Keri and her husband did a great job creating this home away from home. Close to just about everything in town!

    Jordan2014-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing amazing experience. I book Airbnb's a lot for business and this was my favorite one to date. By far the most accommodating hosts and fantastic/cozy place. You got ultimate privacy, but everything was easily spelled out and located, I never had any questions. All airbnb listers should take a page out of their book. I almost didn't want to explore WA state because I was so relaxed in this house.

    Nika2015-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly clean, nice modern place in a comfortable neighborhood. Nice little welcoming touches (small bottle of wine, cookies). We arrived after a 100 mile bike ride, Keri and Ant weren't there but everything worked as promised, including putting our bikes in their garage. They had the air conditioner going, it was a hot day. After a shower and snack, the hot tub was a great place to recuperate. Had pleasant little chats with them later. They provided a folder with local information; we ate breakfast at a restaurant a couple of blocks away that opened early on Sunday.

    Tim2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is hands down the most tastefully and well thought out Airbnb I have ever stayed in. I have been in at least 20 of them and most of them are sterile and just feel like a rental and lack character, which to me defeats the purpose of staying in someone's home vs a hotel. Every possible thing you could ever want plus more was already there from toothbrushes and lotion to robes and slippers for the hot tub. There were cookies, bottled water and wine provided. Little notes everywhere to let us know how to operate everything from the shower vent to the solar powered remote controlled shades built into the skylights. The decor was breathtaking. Instead of watching TV, my guest and I spent most of the time marveling at all of the art and lighting and details of the place that looked like it was designed by HGTV! We woke up to birds chirping just so peaceful and serene I'll just never forget this place and will only stay at the Nomad's Nest whenever we are in the area. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

    Lawrence2016-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival Ant greeted us and made us feel welcome and right at home. Nomad's Nest has all the amenities that one would need to make your stay comfortable...they thought of everything! From the robes and slippers to the morning coffee and treats to the hot tub towels and slippers! Nomad's Nest is located within walking distance to local eateries and pubs...made our stay even that much more enjoyable! Nomad's Nest is clean, cute and cozy! I would certainly be back to stay when I am in town! Thank you Keri and Ant you have provided a wonderful place to stay and you did a fabulous job creating such a warm and welcoming environment! Look forward to seeing you in the near future. Kris and Cody

    Kristine2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Keri and Ant's place is absolutely charming. It's beautifully built (the woodwork is gorgeous) and decorated by these two talented hosts. Beds are comfy and the place is complete with about every amenity you could imagine. The kitchenette is well equipped and bathroom stocked with anything essential you may have forgotten. The hot tub is a wonderful bonus after long treks nearby. Some of the best was hearing about Keri and Ant's travels. Great place.

    Marline2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far the best air bnb experience I have had and the most beautiful vacation space I've stayed in! Every last detail was thoughtfully and beautifully laid out. It was so homey and cozy. We were able to walk downtown for drinks and late night dinner, everything was in close proximity. We had a wonderful time!

Lots of light, open studio walkable to downtown Bellingham. Trader Joe's, several restaurants and 5+ breweries within walking distance. The studio is located on the back of our house, separate entrance, and does share a wall with our home. I live here with my three teenagers. There will likely be some family related noise during the day. Things tend to be fairly quiet between 10 pm and 7 am. Pizza oven and fire pit available for use upon request if available. 2 bikes available for cruising.
Our home is in the Sunnyland neighborhood. Older homes, lots of pedestrian and bicycle activity. Normal neighborhood noises.
  • A great and happy space to stay in. It felt spacious and comfortable. It was easy to find, parking was great, and it was very quiet. Good little kitchen. Easy walking distance to good eats and drinks. We'll happily stay there again.

  • Jody’s place was perfect for our stay in Bellingham! About a mile to downtown fun.

    Hayden2018-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jody's place is perfect place if you're looking for something cute, quite and cozy. Judy was very friendly and great with communication. She let us check-in way ahead of regular check-in time. Would definitely stay here again.

    Sarvar2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • I was in town from the Ca Bay Area for a few job interviews last weekend and I stayed in Jody's studio. The place was perfect! Clean and cozy, fireplace was a plus. Kitchen was stocked with coffee and breakfast basics. Jody responded quickly to all messages and was able to get me checked in early after a long day of travel. Walk into town was a little longer than I had expected, but still very doable.

    Rosie2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jody’s place was very spacious and homey, which made it perfect for an extended stay. It’s got a nice woody smell to it and I loved coming back to the space every night for a whole month straight! It can get a bit tricky if you want to work from home because the chairs for the island are a bit too high, but you can always work in bed because the bed was just so incredibly comfortable! To nitpick, the hot water in the shower gets cold pretty quickly, so make sure you shower fast! The laundry machine was a bit janky too, but it did most of its job anyway :) Those didn’t get in the way much! In terms of its location, I walked downtown every morning and back, and it usually takes about 15-20 minutes one way, depending on where you’re going. If you’re keen on making a trip up to Vancouver, there are buses that take you straight to Cordata as well! I really enjoyed staying in Bellingham for a month and Jody’s space definitely played a huge role in that. Incredible space and a wonderfully accommodating host. 100% would recommend!

    Jennifer2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jody's place was lovely. Quiet & quaint & so nice. Close to everything Bellingham has to offer, great location. Easy drive to Seattle, and even easier drives to Deming & Acme (very close). The only thing negative I could say is, shower fast, as the hot water goes quickly while you're in the shower. Gets warm to cold in a short 15minutes, Jody explained it is because of a small water heater, but it was really okay & not bad. There is no TV/cable, but I was great as I never watch TV. There is great wifi which was super. Place is clean, quiet, welcoming & I'd stay here again any day.

    Rachel2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cute, clean studio with some basic kitchen amenities and other nice touches. The provided bikes (and locks) make it easy to get to downtown Bellingham.

    John2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jody's place was great for our weekend getaway. Not exactly "walkable" to much in Bellingham, (it was also snowing when we were there) but pretty much all of the restaurants/activities are a 5-10 minute drive away. The space was great and clean and we really enjoyed the gas fireplace and provided space heaters.

  • This apartment looks exactly as pictured. In fact, it looks better! The flat is much larger than expected and is in a prime location--close to everything! Very well decorated and lots of natural light. Nicole is very attentive to your needs and quick to respond. There were tenants living in the lower portion of the house who were very friendly, welcoming and happy to answer any questions about Bellingham you might have.

    Risa2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The house was conveniently located and had everything inside you needed. Very comfortable. Priced well for a whole house. Bed comfortable. A little noise on the weekends from people hanging at the place next door but owner has spoken to them about it.

    Linda2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very cute and eclectic. I loved the feel/decor. Be prepared to walk up a flight of stairs, but only 1. There is ample parking and a cute courtyard. Very homey. Lots of little extras.

  • The host, Nicole, gave perfect instructions on access to the apartment, internet, and entertainment. What a wonderful place to stay! The unit is much larger than it appears in pictures, and the bed is quite comfortable. The porch was the icing on the cake. Loved it!

In Kundalini yoga, we use specific sequences of postures/movements, breath and mantra (called kriyas) that when done together create a particular beneficial effect in the body. These sets help balance the glandular system and strengthen the nervous system as well as stretch and strengthen muscles and ligaments. Other benefits of a practice can include an improvement in immunity and energy levels; stress reduction; and more balance and clarity for the mind. I have been a student of yoga for 15+ years. Traditions I’ve studied include Hatha, Kundalini, Anusara and Viniyoga. I was first introduced to Kundalini yoga in 2002. Interested in learning more about how this form of yoga worked, I completed the 220 hour Level 1 Kundalini yoga Teacher Training Program at YogaWest in Vancouver, B.C. and received my teaching certification in 2011. I’ve finished one (Mind & Meditation) of five modules towards Level 2 certification. My practice is also influenced by studying w/ teachers from other traditions, mainly Rod Stryker (Hatha) and Tias Little (Lyengar & Hatha). I have a background in biology & ecology and love to share the science behind yoga while not losing touch with its more mystical qualities.
  • This is absolutely wonderful place to stay. Gorgeous view, very tasteful furnishings, and very clean. Loved the large bathtub with view of the sea. We liked that it was so quiet at night and dark, and we slept so well.

    Nadine2016-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful! We hiked, ate at the beach cafe, saw a bald eagle on the private beach below the house, and read by the fireplace. Everything was just as described and pictured. Although the pictures can't do the island justice. We would love to come back the next time we are in the northwest!

    Abigail2017-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with incredible views! It was hard leaving the deck to go and do other things.

  • To start with there was a nice welcome email complete with driving directions and basic instructions. The property was clean and inviting, you felt at home and relaxed. Had all the amenities you could want, including movies, games etc. Beautiful location and view.

  • My husband and I had the greatest time in this little beach cottage. It was so cozy and quiet. The cottage has AMAZING views of the water and you can even sit in the jacuzzi tub and enjoy the beautiful views. There was a wood burning stove and plenty of wood to keep us warm and cozy at night. We spent tons of time sitting on the huge back porch staring at the ocean. The beach is very private and it provided a fun adventure picnicking by the water. The kitchen was stocked with all the dishes, lots, and pans you could need. There were an array of DVDs available and some books if you need some entertainment. Overall we had the most pleasant experience in the cottage. Plus the island has plenty of amazing views and some really stellar houses to drive around and look at.

    Leah2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most relaxing stay at Jennifer's cottage. The location is ideal for a quiet getaway and the hosue itself is clean, well furnished, cosy and has all the amenities you could want. You have the experience of being right along the water but with access to the ferry and store within minutes. Jennifer was a great host, easy to communicate with and checked in on us occassionally without being pushy. If you're looking for a quiet spot to enjoy being by the water this cottage is hard to beat!

  • Koelle's home and garden is lovely and conveniently located. The amenities that she offered were far above what I was expecting to find in a room and I will happily stay with her again.

Gorgeous modern studio in a forested setting, this is a unique space with thoughtful design. Seashore and mountain trails are right outside the door, & the Studio is a ten minute drive from Bellingham. Our special place has offered a base for adventure, rejuvenation and re-connection and provided "Il Dolce Far Niente" - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing. Meeting accurate expectations is important to us, so please read our entire listing description before you send a booking request. Thank you!
Note: Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us, so please read our entire listing description before you send a booking request. Thank you! The Seaside Forest Studio shares the property with our home, and began as an artist's studio, every aspect custom designed. From the loft bed surrounded by windows, to the fully equipped kitchen, slate-tiled shower and red brick floors, everything was added with careful thought. This is a unique space! The Studio is 512 square feet with an added 60 feet in the sleeping area above. There is a queen-sized bed in a hanging loft, best for those comfortable climbing a ladder up and down, to sleep surrounded by windows and trees on all sides. There is also a Euro-lounger/sofa in the main room that folds into a comfortable full size bed, with a memory foam topper. The main room has a window seat, as well as a custom reading nook with games for all ages stored below. Peter's handmade beautiful, live-edge cedar table seats four (five, if you'd like). The kitchen is fully equipped with sink, stove, oven, refrigerator, and cooking implements. The bath has a full shower, beautifully tiled. The studio has both electric heat and a wood stove. There are two entryways, with a curved wood deck at the front entrance (and a large granite boulder to sit on as well). Parking is just outside the back door. We care about beauty, connection, real things, and the Studio reflects that; much of its features were made by us or locally sourced. You'll eat at Peter's table, hang your coat on a fir tree we found in our woods, use Aimee's homemade soap in the shower, see our art on the walls, sleep in a loft built by a dear friend, and enjoy a fire with wood from our property. A short walk down the driveway or steep beach trail offers views of both Chuckanut and Pleasant Bays (we live on a point, so there is water on both sides). Just up a winding brick path, you'll find the hot tub (older design, very simple) behind our house, on a deck under tall fir trees with peekaboo views of the water. Our property is a haven for wildlife: the studio is surrounded by a forest that's home to many kinds of birds, including raptors, owls, and songbirds. Raccoons and deer wander through, and we're close to the seashore where seals swim, herons squawk, and crabs scuttle under eelgrass forests. The Studio shares the forest with our home, so we're available for questions and concerns. Our house is situated on a knoll overlooking the water, while the studio is in the forest just below. The two structures are separated by a driveway and woods, out of sight of each other. We do share a common driveway, our cars blocked from the Studio's view by a neatly stacked woodpile. The Studio has many windows (with blinds), and we do drive and/or walk past the Studio when coming & going, . The Seaside Forest Studio is ideal for nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, and those who want unique accommodation in a beautiful natural setting.
With Chuckanut Mountain behind us and the Salish Sea in front, hikers, bikers, and kayakers will find easy access to all three activities from the studio. The Interurban Trail is just up the road. Heading south on the Interurban you'll reach the trails, lakes and seashore of 2683-acre Larrabee State Park in five minutes; walking north, you can stroll or bike five miles to town if you'd like, all on this forested trail overlooking the sea. Paddling west in a kayak you'll reach Chuckanut Island in 20 minutes. Our family have been the caretakers of this special place, owned by the Nature Conservancy, for years. The world renowned beauty of Chuckanut Drive is moments away – enjoy it by bicycle or car. Fairhaven is 10 minutes and downtown Bellingham is 20 minutes by car. If you'd like, you can touch a glacier and explore an island in the same day!
  • Great spot! Great location! Great hosts! Loved the loud trains! Wish I could have recorded it. Thank you!

    Mélanie2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! Aimee and Peter were great - they met us upon our arrival and provided suggestions on what to do during our stay. We hiked to Fragrance Lake and swam there - such a beautiful day. A short drive to Canada where we spent a day in Vancouver. The property and studio are just as the pictures suggest - sensational. It was unusually warm during our stay and Aimee went out of her way checking multiple stores to find fans for us. We saw deer and bald eagles too. The studio was nicely decorated and had all the amenities to meet our needs. Definitely stay here if you have the opportunity.

    Michael2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing weekend getaway spot! The Forest Studio exceeded all of our expectations, loved the interior design/decor. Aimee and Peter were very accommodating and responsive. The train is definitely loud at night, but being the thoughtful hosts they are, Aimee and Peter provide complimentary ear plugs. Overall great experience, and highly recommend.

    Sam2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thank so much Aimee and Peter! We really enjoyed our stay in the studio. What a beautiful space and amazing location! We especially appreciated the hike recommendations in the guest book.

    Lily2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is an amazing space for a little R&R. Very cozy, clean and unique. We had 3 adults and 1 child, which we thought might be a little cramped as there aren't any "bedrooms" but the space is nice and open. We were all pretty comfortable as we're family and didn't mind being in the same space for a night or two. Two of us slept on the couch with a memory foam topper and two more up in the loft. Lots of beautiful hikes and views near by. Our hosts were lovely, very responsive, helpful and welcoming. Will definitely be back!

    Mara2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had a relaxing weekend at Aimee and Peter’s beautiful forest studio. We looked through the book of great suggestions and ended up hiking Oyster Dome which was just down the street. Their studio could not have been in a better location with access to Bellingham and so many hikes to choose from. The loft bed was especially fun, and it did feel like you were sleeping amongst the trees. Looking forward to coming back again!

    Becca2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter's studio is a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. My partner and I, along with our pup, greatly enjoyed our stay. The hosts provided lots of great suggestions of what to do in the area in advance and were always very quick to respond to our messages both before and during our stay. The studio is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities we needed. The bed is comfortable and the shower is hot with good pressure. As the listing clearly states, train tracks do run close to the studio, but we were not bothered by the passing trains - in fact, we rather enjoyed listening to them rumble by! And to be clear, you can't see the tracks or trains from the studio itself, you can only hear them. Our favorite thing about the studio is how tucked away in the woods it is, with ferns, salal, and tall conifers all around. Thank you, Aimee & Peter!

    Emmaline2018-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you take the long way on the Chuckanut Drive you will discover how cool this area is. If you stick to the freeway you will miss all of the good things about Bellingham. The Studio is a great jumping off place for all of your adventures. Hiking, biking, kayaking, or just a sunset stroll along Boulevard Park are some of the things you can do close by. Yes the train will wake you, I was not bothered by it much. The train at times shakes the ground , and thus the building. I love trains, it kinda adds to the charm of the place. In my research I read about warnings about 19 trains a day. The hosts are upfront about the positives and negatives of the space. You can see a tiny bit of the sound from the property, but this Studio is designed for an enjoyment of the woods. Gus is not the only critter who will visit you as you relax and sip your tea. It was a pleasant surprise to look in all the drawers and cabinets to find a great assortment of tea, wine (I don't care about that) and even saltwater taffy. Bring slippers as the floor can be cold. Remember your "good" camera, so many chances for great photos.

A lovely, private, light-filled room in our home, with a private entrance, bath, and basic kitchenette. It's in a quiet neighborhood, close to downtown, backing up to green space, and steps away from hiking and biking trails.
Zen Oasis is a large bedroom with a private entrance and bath in the back of our single-story family home which borders Whatcom Falls Park. It is clean, bright, comfortable, and simply furnished with a queen bed, chair, small table and chairs, and dresser drawers. There is a private deck with two chairs for lounging in the fresh outdoors where you can listen to the birds and nearby Whatcom Creek and waterfalls. It is best suited for shorter stays of up to one week. There is no access to the main house and no cooking facilities, but there is a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, and dishes and utensils for take-out or ready-made meals in the room. Tea and coffee are provided. Zen Oasis is a great place for: - solitude, respite and communing with nature - a comfortable, clean and convenient stay for business or travel - proximity to walking and biking trails - a quiet night's sleep after a busy day of exploring. Zen Oasis may not be great for: - children under 5 years old - late-sleepers (there is a skylight in the room which makes for light-filled mornings.)
Whatcom Falls Heights is the perfect urban neighborhood - close to downtown (just a 10 minute drive or 30 minute bike ride), but with the quiet of the woods and park to make you feel you're far away. Enjoy miles of walking trails through Whatcom Falls Park - the jewel of the city - with a park entrance just a short walk down the street. Bring your bike and explore the Railroad Trail system which runs through the park and takes you all the way downtown in one direction (about three miles each way) or over to Lake Whatcom in the other direction (about a mile).
  • Kirsten & Jeff's place is a nice, quiet neighborhood. I loved being so close to Whatcom Falls Park. I walked the trails both days. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Julie

    Julie2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time at Kirsten's place. It was even cuter than the pictures! She greeted me once I got there and showed me around. She was available if I needed her, yet allowed me to do my own thing (which I thought was great). The location is one of the reasons why I chose this place, and it did not disappoint. The proximity to Whatcom Falls Park is awesome (you can hear the water from the place). She had mapped out a few walking paths to make it easier to find my way around, which was very helpful. I would stay here again if I need a place to stay in Bellingham!

    Camielle2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • The home is in a lovely location and they have decorated the suite with some very nice touches. It was quiet and comfortable. Although we never met, Kirsten was very communicative online. I hope to meet her next time.

    anita2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great accommodation! Kirsten and Jeff were friendly and check-in/check-out were easy. Would recommend staying here to my friends/family.

    Justin2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Zen Oasis. Kirsten and Jeff were wonderful hosts. We were in Bellingham for a national trail running race and weather was pretty bad and stormy for that weekend. Kirsten was so kind to give us the option of cancelling without any penalties right before the race. My husband would have raced no matter what the weather was going to be. She sent us the local weather information which was helpful.

    Parisa2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a peaceful, private place to unwind, literally attached to a park filled with waterfalls, and in an area where deer are likely to appear en masse along the roadway despite being close to downtown. Be sure to bring a sleep mask if you're sensitive to light (as the hosts suggest), because the room is bright in the morning from the skylight.

    Zaza2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • I could tell that Kristen & Jeff worked hard to make Zen Oasis a calm, comfortable place to stay. When I arrived, I was thirsty and tired from traveling. It was a pleasant surprise to have cold, filtered water ready for me in the fridge and a coffee supply ready for the morning. Highly recommend.

    Simon2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely perfect. They thought of everything, and the location is great. My wife and I were able to take a couple of nice hikes in the woods behind their house. There was even a waterfall! We also got to experience a couple of deer come through the back yard as we sipped our morning tea on the deck.

A unique house in downtown Historic Fairhaven which has been converted into a working micro-brewery. A block away from local amenities, including boutique shops & great restaurants. You can easily hop on to the inter-urban trail which links parks, fantastic hiking, biking & downtown Bellingham. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi & a tasty, craft ale is only a step away.
Our cozy home is also home to a small micro-brewery which is housed in shipping containers in the back yard. Guests are welcome to use the backyard which has a fire pit, or the patio upstairs which gets lots of sun to eat their meals. The detached garage has been converted into our taproom, so a tasty ale, created on site is never far away. The bedroom is in the back of the house. It is surprisingly quiet, so you won't be disturbed by patrons of the brewery. In fact, there is the constant gurgling sound of a running stream, which is actually our glycol system that is used to cool our beer and walk-in cooler. The kitchen is fully equipment, including a gas range so you can cook to your hearts delight. There is coffee and tea readily available too. The window above the kitchen sink looks out on to the front beer garden of the brewery. You can always create some privacy by closing the blinds. The dated bathroom has a shower tub, which is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, toothpaste, first aid kit and most importantly with a tub....soothing bubble bath! The lounge/living area is our biggest space. It receives a lot of light and looks out on to the front street, and a window faces the front beer garden. Again, there are blinds, curtains and sheer curtains to create more privacy for yourself, if you so desire. You can hear the murmur of conversations in the front beer garden. The comfy couch in the living room opens up into sleeper bed. Stairs go upstairs to our office space. There is a door that creates privacy for you downstairs; however, the house is a little squeaky, so you will hear foot steps upstairs as we access the space during office hours and occasionally in the evening to access our merchandise stock for the brewery. We only access the office space through the brewery, and never via your space downstairs.
Our micro-brewery home is located one block from downtown Historic Fairhaven. There are beautiful boutique shops just a stroll around the corner, and great restaurants with some excellent happy hours & food. Obviously, we think Stones Throw Brewery is the best place for a beer, but if you want wine or cocktails we love visiting the Black Cat. Access to the Inter-Urban Trail is across the road. You can bike south towards Fairhaven Park (5min), Arroyo Park (15-20min), Larrabee State Park (45min) or you can bike/walk north into downtown Bellingham which takes you out over the water along the Taylor Dock Board Walk and past Woods Coffee. Talk to us if you are interested in using a bike - we have one available for you. In the summer time the Community Boating Center is open and you can easily rent a paddle board/paddle boat for some fun sightseeing on Bellingham Bay. A block and a half away you will find our local grocery store, Haggens. Very convenient.
  • My wife and I put my family up in this house for the weekend while they visited from the east coast. It worked out great. The place was clean, the beds were comfy, noise from the adjacent brewery wasn't a problem at all, and the location was perfect, for our purposes. Last but not least, the beer was of course delicious.

    Eric2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect little Bellingham spot. The accommodations are simple, but nice and clean. Close to trail heads and and a lovely long walk to downtown. The real gem of this listing is being able to hang out at their perfect brewery.

    Stephanie2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful experience! A great place to stay, great beer, and great hosts! I stayed here in order to take advantage of the many local coffee shops and cafes where I could get a bit of an escape from the busyness of home and work while doing some writing. The house provided a great "home base" for me during my visit to Fairhaven, and it was wonderful to have such close proximity to the many shops, restaurants, and cafes.

    Cody2017-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Think I might have to come back for another stay sometime :)

    Kylee2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome experience, unlike any other. Nadine and Tony were out of town during my stay, but co-owner of the brewery, Jack, was an amazing host. Thanks for having me guys, I'll definitely be back when I am in town.

    Tim2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! Right next door to Stones Throw Brewing. Nadine & Tony are awesome. Thanks!

    Jen2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far one of the coolest places i've ever stayed at. Its right next to a micro-brewery / bar. It is very spacious and Nadine had everything arranged and ready. Has a washer and dryer which was awesome to be able to wash my clothes after a whole week in the mountains before i headed home. Top spot in bellingham and very close to the Alpine Institute, i would say a stone's throw away.

    Randy2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this cute and convenient place! The hosts were lovely and readily available to answer any questions. The brewery is great with lots of fun outdoor space to relax with a beer (brewed onsite!). Would stay again and recommend.

This listing is for the Second Bedroom of my home in the Columbia neighborhood, which is less than a mile from downtown Bellingham. Next to beautiful Elizabeth park with many trees and community concerts on Thursday evenings in the summer. From various windows one can see Sehome Hill, Mt Baker, St James church and the Bay. If you have rented the main room, you can share the main bathroom with this room or otherwise you can use the downstairs bathroom that has a shower.
The second bedroom is a large room with a bed for one or maybe two people. For one group, the upper bathroom can be shared with the master bedroom or the 3/4 bathroom downstairs can be used. There are a number of bedrooms off the wood-paneled hallway, and I am staying in one of those. The 'modern' master bedroom is more secluded and has a large and unique bathroom. From it a deck looks out over Elizabeth Park. And from the bedroom a little stairway leads up to the small loft area with views, where you could hang out on the sofa. For a larger family, one of the smaller bedrooms with views of the park can even be made available. The gourmet kitchen is at your disposal with complimentary coffee and tea. There is also a large living and dining room.
  • Stefan is a kind host and very knowledgable. The house is amazing and in a great location. Highly recommend for those in the area.

    Conor2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible location and a truly unique house. Both a classic Victorian and beautifully updated.

    Ian2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Stefan's place is a beautiful old home with all modern amenities. We were only in Bellingham for the night for a wedding, but his room was perfect. Check in was super easy, he let us come an hour early so we would have time to get ready, and the room is huge!

    Jessica2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Stefan’s place was excellent!

    Stephanie2018-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Stefan’s place is wonderful. Beautiful architecture and a great mellow vibe. And I was able to borrow a bike to ride all over town. A great way to explore the city! I was so happy I booked this room!

    Joshua2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! We felt like a million dollars after staying at Stefan's place. Everything was top notch. He went out of his way to get a separate bed (very comfortable beds!) for me. Just going above and beyond what was really good already. Best air bnb ever!

    Jonathan2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a delightful stay at Stefan's home. There are so many good things to say about it, it's hard to know where to start! The home is truly a piece of history. Beautiful woodwork, generously apportioned rooms, and a sense of when Bellingham was in the heyday of the Klondike gold rush. The location is superb also: in a lovely, walkable neighborhood with equally easy access to downtown. Stefan clearly enjoys and takes pride in hosting. We had some really nice conversations, and he was always on hand to provide ideas and recommendations. In short a fantastic visit, highly recommended and we will definitely stay with Stefan on future trips to Bellingham -- we already look forward to returning!

A comfy bedroom, colorful sitting room, and private entrance in our home's daylight basement.
You get the full daylight basement (please note that there are twelve stairs down to your rooms) -- a room with a queen size bed, and a second room with a comfortable reading chair and a small table for working. The furnishings are colorful and the walls feature professional photography, including a large canvas photo of Mt. Baker to gaze at while relaxing in bed. You'll have plenty of space and privacy. You have a private entrance directly from the backyard, or feel free to use the shared front door entrance as well. We provide coffee, tea, and wifi! While you are welcome to park out back in the alleyway and use your own entrance through the backyard, we invite you (and even recommend) to use the front door, as it can be dark and sometimes slick on the back deck. We DO NOT recommend going around the side of the house as it can be quite slippery there. So please feel free to come and go through the front or back as you like. We are a non smoking household but smoking outside is fine. There is a bathroom upstairs with shower and bath. This bathroom is shared with the family. Kitchen with full utensils, microwave and so on. Herbs, spices etc which you are more than welcome to use. We are a friendly trio of husband, wife and teen daughter. Oh, and three cats! We work from home so we are about (upstairs) working during the day. In the evening we are about playing games, cooking dinner, watching a movie, or reading a book and you're welcome to join us. We think this is a lovely and clean home but please be aware that, at this price it IS a vibrant, wabi-sabi, working family home and not a hotel! The backyard just outside of your space is more meadow than manicured for the sake of the birds and other ecological reasons. Sunnyland is a great, quiet residential neighborhood within a 15 minute walk from downtown Bellingham. We have the city's BEST breakfast joint for potatoes, eggs, pork chilli, toast and coffee (Homeskillet is the name) and a fun brew pub (Kulshan Brewing); both are within three blocks of our house as is Trader Joe's. Walk from downtown in 15 minutes, or there's a bus that comes within four blocks. Need a ride to the airport? We can probably get you there in time and in style! $15 extra. Just ask in advance to be sure.

  • Excellent place to stay for the night. The property was exactly as described. And Phil was very accommodating of my late arrival and even offered to assist with a lost baggage issue I had at the airport.

  • Great place to stay, Phil and Lola were lovely hosts. We spent most of the daytime visiting friends and they were very accommodating of our odd hours, late check in, etc. one of the best showers ever, with great temperature and water pressure, and very friendly wandering cats to keep us warm during the chillier night times.

    Isobel2014-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Phil & Lola provide a very comfortable experience by generously opening up their home for guests. This was the perfect place to stay for a brief overnight trip to visit a student @ WWU.

    Mary2014-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time at Phil and Lola's for my two nights in Bellingham. They are a delightful, intelligent, cultured, warm, and welcoming family. In the lodging quarters, there was a basket with oatmeal packets, granola bars, coffee, tea, and cocoa. I didn't take advantage of this, but thought it was a lovely gesture. The bed was cozy, and I felt at home. I found the small table useful for working on my laptop. Highly recommended.

Our home is a great place to experience Bellingham from! Our neighborhood is friendly and centrally located. Walking distance from breweries, bus line, and grocery store.
My husband and I live in the main house, and your space is a mother-in-law suite that shares one wall with our house. It has a private entrance and parking spot, as well as a little outdoor sitting area. It is a perfect spot for one person or a couple visiting B'ham.
Our neighborhood is right on the edge of the line between residential and commercial. We are only one street off of Meridian, where you can find breweries and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. We are a 30 second walk from a grocery store and the bus line, and only a 5 minute drive to downtown Bellingham.
  • Cayley’s place is spacious, cute and so affordable. I will be going back if I am in Bellingham again!

    Emily2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • I love the pumpkin suite! Great location. Super clean and great amenities. And you can’t beat the price! I would definitely return. Thank you so much for a great stay!

    Bryce2018-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The suite is a delight - private and peaceful with everything you need. Cayley was a great host, proactive for details of checking in and quick to respond. I'll be back!

    Linda2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay if you are spending the weekend in Bellingham! Cayley was great at responding and provided excellent communication, especially for check-in and check-out.

    Kelsey2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cayley’s place is the perfect spot in Bellingham! The secluded unit is private and has incredible amenities. We especially appreciated the washer/dryer and the supplied shampoo and conditioner. The home is a short walk to restaurants and shops, otherwise there’s a parking space provided in case you’d need to drive. Cayley was incredibly responsive and helpful as well!

    Elizabeth2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little apartment! Very quite and peaceful. WE really enjoyed staying here!

    Amalia2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Pumpkin Suite is a perfect example of what an AirBnb should be. This little cozy apartment was everything my partner and I were looking for. Stylish, clean, spacious and very close to the city and a market is literally next door. Don’t skip this one!

    Carlos2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great amenities; a fully stocked kitchen, in suite washer and dryer. The bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood was very quiet. Cayley got back to us very quickly, as we booked on the same day we stayed there. We will definitely stay there again when we visit Bellingham.

Our conveniently located urban farm—complete with chickens and plenty of vegetable and flower gardens—is within walking distance of downtown Bellingham, where you'll find a wide array of restaurants, coffee shops, live music venues, art exhibits, nightlife, public transport and much more. Our garden-view daylight basement apartment is great for couples, solo adventurers, friends, business travelers or someone needing a place to stay while they explore their own options for living here.
The York neighborhood is a historic one, and so is Nelson's Market, the grocery store and restaurant just up the street from us. If you walk around the neighborhood, you'll see plenty of Victorian-era houses like ours (which was built in 1900). From here, it's a 10- or 15-minute walk to the downtown core.
  • Great place to stay!

    Jake2018-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's basement apartment has the bonus of fresh eggs from chickens in the quaint backyard and an outdoor fire area to gather in the evening. We will stay with Amy again. Able to walk to downtown.

    Colleen2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Amy's home. She was very accommodating with early check-in, and provided fresh eggs from their chickens. The lower unit is spacious and has all of the necessities -- towels, silverware and dishes... even laundry. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

    Joe2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. You can easily walk downtown to all the resturants and bars. Amy has the place very well stocked - shampoo, conditioner, and soap in the bathroom; muffins, eggs and delicious coffee and tea are ready and waiting. Amy's ready for anything and is ready to offer a suggestion and help plan your evening! Stop looking and stay here!

    Sara2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and comfortable stay with fantastic and delicious amenities! Fridge was stocked with coffee, cream, fresh eggs, garden tomatoes, and craft beers for guests, all of which were absolutely phenomenal. The vibe of Amy's home is wonderfully colorful, comfy, and down-to-earth, and the accommodations were lovely.

    Emily2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's basement apartment was as comfortable as could be, and very charming! The weekend I drove into Bellingham the area was expecting a storm, and Amy kept in touch with me to make sure I was able to arrive safely. She also provided extra candles and flashlights in the apartment in the case of a power outage - I was so appreciative of her generosity and thoughtfulness! Additionally, Amy had the apartment stocked with all the basic necessities, including natural and organic food/products, which I thought was a lovely touch. The apartment is in an excellent location - very easy to get to the freeway, and not far from a Trader Joe's, which is a definite perk in my opinion! It was the perfect home away from home.

    Caroline2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's place is wonderful! Great location and cozy space that felt just like home! There were fresh eggs from her hens, fruit and biscuits for breakfast, what a treat! A hot shower and warm bed at the end of the day was just what we needed! A beautiful place for two! Stay if you get the chance, we would stay again!

    Angela2018-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's place is a cozy garden apartment with lots of light in the living room and a warm, dark bedroom perfect for sleeping in - and taking daytime naps! Amy and Erik were friendly and communication was super easy. They are within walking distance of some great breweries and trails - and while we didn't take advantage of the garden area during our visit (other than to admire the fresh snowfall!), it looks like a wonderful place to spend some time during the warmer months. I would definitely recommend this BNB to friends.

  • Koelle is a fabulous host. The room I stayed in was comfortable and had everything I needed -- including a dog bed! Koelle's home is warm and cozy, and in a great location in Bellingham. Koelle has many talents including creating delicious concoctions and beautiful bouquets from her garden, and she's very generous.

    Shannon2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle made me feel so welcome in her beautiful home! I was greeted with french press coffee and yummy muffins in the morning. She was a wealth of information about what was going on in town and gave great advice for finding my own place in Bellingham. Highly recommended!

    Beth2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was a wonderful host. Such a lovely place to stay when visiting Bellingham. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast and conversation and the morning was lovely. Will definitely be coming back!

    Lauren2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle’s place is cozy spot and a good value if you plan to stay in Bellingham for a business trip or you’re just passing through. I would definitely stay at her place again.

    Ron2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I was in town for a wedding and was looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay. Koelle's place was perfect; also, the coffee+toast before I left for SeaTac the following morning was very much appreciated.

    Melody2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was friendly and welcoming. She was very helpful towards finding a great place to eat and she shared a map of the area to help keep me oriented. It was fun to chat and discuss some common interests!

    Steve2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • can't say enough about Koelle's space and wonderful garden. Will definitely try to go again soon!

    George2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was very welcoming and accommodating, and kindly provided breakfast items as well as space in the fridge for a few of my bits and pieces. She has a beautiful garden and is interesting to talk to about it. Urban agriculture geeks will love this neighbourhood, which has lots of front yard and boulevard gardens and fruit trees, all very inspiring. The room was comfortable and I appreciated being able to bring my dog who loved his dog sofa.

  • Clean and comfortable over-garage studio in quiet but close-in Bellingham neighborhood. Laurie was responsive and available but not intrusive. This felt like a private studio even though technically it is attached to the main house. And it's an easy 15-20 minute walk to the heart of downtown. We would definitely stay here again.

    Emily2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie’s place is one of a kind. A great value and she is super responsive to messaging. Had a fantastic weekend.

    Lourdes2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED our stay at Laurie's place and can not recommend it enough! Large, spacious studio, very nice deck with chairs, super cute, the list is endless! We did a bike ride from Seattle to Bellingham for the RSVP bike ride and were super tired. Laurie greeted us promptly and made sure we were comfortable right away. The snacks, drinks and everything she provided were perfect! It is definitely the best AirBnB we have stayed at and hope to stay with Laurie again! Thank you Laurie!

A cheerful bedroom with a Queen Tempurpedic bed and private bathroom. Relax on sunny patio in lovely yard or curl up with a book in cozy living room. Excellent location: Walk to downtown, waterfront, restaurants, and parks from this character home.
Welcome to Bellingham, the "city of subdued excitement." Thankfully, my neighborhood is pretty subdued indeed. I hope you enjoy this quiet, safe, block and my handsome home, built in 1900. Cheerful bedroom with cozy living room and big open kitchen. The well-landscaped, private backyard has a nice patio for dining. But if you want to get out and about, this is GREAT location. On the busline to WWU. Only 1 mile to downtown for local shopping, season farmer's market on Saturdays, and plenty of great restaurants. Less than a mile to Bellingham waterfront for superb sunsets and nice walks. Several parks and a few places to eat within walking distance. Or jump in your car and head up the Mt Baker Hwy for some skiing (they boast the most snow of any mountain in N America) or stunning hiking near an active volcano. If you need a big city fix, Vancouver, BC is only an hour away, too!

    Paz2015-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Jodi----we enjoyed our stay and visit with you in Bellingham. We wish it had been longer--but needed to get back to CO. This was our first house-sharing experience, and it was a good one. Thank you for the excellent coffee to send us off. Janet and John

  • I missed meeting Jodi ! very unfortunately! I was welcomed by her collection of Dragon Fly Art ! My Personal Spirit Animal. I expect I would really have enjoyed Jodi and hope I will have an other opportunity to meet her. Her home is sparkling clean, charming, comfortable and very homey! I loved my stay! Thanks, Jodi!

  • Jodi’s was beyond perfect. I slept in a temperpedic bliss, and was left alone for a much needed rest- I haven’t slept that well in ages. Her home was gorgeous, and Jodi was very generous and kind. I will surely stay here again.

  • Jodi’s place is cute, cozy and close to downtown. We didn’t see Jodi during our visit, but she made sure everything went smooth from check in to fresh towels on our bed with chocolates and snacks in the kitchen. Great bargain, nice place and convenient location!

    Cynthia2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi was a great host. Everything met my expectations. My overnight stay was very comfortable. Her hospitality was awesome. So grateful for her taking the time to make morning coffee and a smoothie to start my day.

Newly renovated one bedroom apartment in the heart of Old Fairhaven Historic District. Located two minutes walking to downtown amenities. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, and privacy. Located above a quiet law office with private, coded access. On one side is a condo complex and on the other, a home converted into a micro brewery.
This a newly renovated historic building in the center of Old Fairhaven. Originally built in 1909, the building used to be part of the colorful history of Old Fairhaven Prostitution! In it's heyday, it was called "Anne's Palace" and owned by a madam named Anne Bronson. This apartment is small, perfect for two or three people. It starts getting cramped with four adults. Keep that in mind. Please let the host know if you will be needing the sofa bed. As this apartment is next to a micro-brewery, there may be some days and nights with bands that play. There should be no more noise from bands or activities after 9:30-10PM.
This home is in walking distance to urban trails, the Bellingham Amtrak Station, Community Boating Shed (for kayak and paddle board rentals), and all the wonderful Old Fairhaven downtown shops and restaurants, as well as the Farmer's Market. Please scroll all the way down to see the map and locations marked as points of interest. This apartment is located within walking distance to almost everything in Old Fairhaven. There are several listings, restaurants, and places of interest that have been listed; be sure to read about all the great places in Fairhaven and Bellingham! As this is next to a micro-brewery, there may be some days and nights with bands that play. There should be no more noise from bands or activities after 9:30-10PM.
  • We felt very welcome! Great email communication from the owner regarding details of our stay. It was the perfect location to stay while visiting our daughter at WWU. We loved the location in Downtown Fairhaven. Walking distance to cute shops & restaurants. The accommodations where very nice. We would definitely stay again!!!

    Colleen2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Actually, this place was even more cozy than the photos. We instantly felt welcome when we arrived. We loved all the sweet little touches like the daisys, organic coffee, basket of goodies and even chocolates on our pillows. Not to mention the clean smell when we walked in, cool night lights and comfy bed. Everything was immaculate. Kristi's place was just a nice place to chill out and spend our anniversary. We loved it. Very close to Fairhaven shops and restaurants. Kristi was great communicating with us before and during our stay. Can't say enough about this place.

    Christine And Paul2015-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kristi's place was amazing and even better than described in the profile! She was very thorough in her instructions which made checking in a breeze (especially after slogging through Seattle/Everett traffic all day). You can tell she really thought of everything--leaving toiletries, snacks and brochures for guests. We loved hearing about the history of the building (once owned by a "boarding house" mistress)--there was even a book on the subject by a local author. We couldn't believe that there was even fresh ground coffee. The neighborhood is great (we knew from going to college at WWU) and Kristi's listing is very convenient to shops and parks. It was an easy bike ride along the waterfront path to get to downtown. We definitely recommend taking time to stop at Woods Coffee located right in the heart of Boulevard park! Thanks for the wonderful stay Kristi!

    Allison2015-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kristi was a wonderful host! She was very responsive to any questions we had, and we were very impressed with the apartment. It was comfortable, clean, and cozy, and we loved that she had left a few snacks on the counter for when we arrived. We also enjoyed the cut flowers and extremely comfortable bed! We will certainly recommend this Airbnb to our friends who want a place to stay in the Fairhaven/Bellingham area.

    Heather2015-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in Fairhaven very cute quaint and unique . Great location apartment had all amenities and was well stocked. Check in check out was seamless . Addition to detail did not go unnoticed fresh flowers basket of books fresh coffee . Highly recommended Anne’s palace to anyone passing thru Fairhaven . You will not by disappointed in your choice of this unique apartment above law office . Would come back in a heart beat !!!!!

  • Great location in the Fairhaven neighborhood. Kristi makes everything super easy. Great value.

    Kristine2018-02-11T00:00:00Z

The "Aloha Suite" is the name we have given our guest room attached to the south end of our garage. It is a separate building near our home and shop buildings. The room's decor is tropical, with, we hope, the spirit of "aloha" present.
When our home was being built, we lived in the "Aloha Suite", a separate space on the south end of our garage. Since we moved into our home, the suite has been a haven for many guests.(URL HIDDEN)In the main room there are: a comfortable queen sized bed, reading chair, small dining table and chairs, bookshelves with reading material of local and travel interest, yoga mat, and TV with DISH satellite channels (and instructions), a Blu-ray player(URL HIDDEN) In the bathroom there is a shower; and towels and robes are provided. The "kitchenette": This nook in the corner of the main room contains a small refrigerator/freezer, glasses and dishes, basic food preparation items, electric tea kettle, "personal" blender, a choice of two coffee makers, a wide slot toaster, and a microwave. It is not a true kitchen equipped for lots of cooking and dish washing. We are happy to provide the use of our oven and to wash your dishes as needed. There is a laundry sink in the garage for washing large items. We have a barbecue grill on the porch that you may use. It is possible to move the furniture to accommodate a sleeping pad for another person or a baby bed. We have space outside for pitching a tent as well. On request, we can provide an iron and ironing board. We also have a selection of movies and board games you are welcome to borrow.
We live in a quiet, wooded rural area on a road with five homes and nice neighbors. We do get fog and deer crossing the roads, so be alert, especially at night. Please look over the detailed instructions to get here, as GPS may not bring you right to our driveway. We are a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Bellingham and several other communites-Ferndale, Lynden, Everson, and Deming. We have cell phone coverage here, but if you don't for some reason, you are welcome to use our land line for calls. (Currently T-Mobile coverage is "iffy.")
  • We had such a relaxing stay at the Aloha Suite! It was clean, quiet, beautiful, and had everything we could need during our stay. We really loved the personal touches, like fresh homemade cookies and lavender to take with us when we left! Terry was a great host and we look forward to staying here when we're in town in the future.

    Shelby2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect and adorable space. We felt welcomed and just like we were in Hawaii :) Terry even made us cookies! Would most definitely recommend and would love to stay again. Thank you!!

  • Terry is lovely! And so is this private unit. Will definitely be back.

    Paige2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Just as described, no fuss, very clean and fun space! Great value!

    Jason2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Terry responded to our request promptly was able accommodate us with an extra sleeping pad for a third person. Terry is quite respectful of privacy but also very welcoming and personable. We found the place to be a small, comfortable and every bit as advertised in the listing. The Aloha Suite is located in a rural area, a little further from town than we'd thought, but the commute to town is easy and fast. There are several excellent markets, restaurants and a multiplex theater within a five-minute drive.

    Peter2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Terry was exceptionally friendly and welcoming when we arrived. The space was clean, organized and had a plethora of reading and reference material which served as great resources for visiting folks. The view was pretty and calming. It was clear that a great amount of time was spent on making the grounds beautiful and comfortable. Terry's home is serene, quiet and relaxing.

    Sandra2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Aloha Suite is beyond perfect and Terry is an even more perfect host! We enjoyed our stay in the beautiful suite and really appreciated Terry's recommendations for visiting the area. Stay at the Aloha Suite- you won't be disappointed!

    Mei-Li2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Terry's Aloha Suite was such a pleasure to visit! Her home is nestled on a quiet country road which was very close to Bellingham, WA. The private room had beautiful windows over looking her gorgeous flower gardens and she had ample outdoor space to enjoy the surroundings. It smelled like heaven. Our room was very clean and ready for our arrival and she makes the best oatmeal cranberry cookies! We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to staying with her again when we come to family in Bellingham!

You’ll love our place because of the gardens, the peacefulness tranquility. It is a delight of both flowers, vegetables and birds. The Garden Suite has a cozy cottage rural feeling within a quiet neighborhood, and the location offers all that a small village can, with a city nearby.
Our space is cozy, about 200 sq. ft. Warning for people over 6'4", there are low ceilings, you may have to duck in the doorways. The Garden Suite is comfortable for one or two people. The bed is a cotton-filled, slightly smaller full futon with an ergonomically sprung frame and has an adjustable head rest. A memory foam mattress pad and a down comforter in the winter will be cozy for your night's rest. The living space includes a bedroom-sitting area, kitchen, entry way-eating and work area and a bathroom. Although attached to the main house, the Garden Suite has a private entrance and overlooks a quiet garden space. The birds are a joy anytime of year. We do appreciate a quiet home environment, with that said, Derek is a working musician and we love to spend time with our grandkids, so you might hear acoustic music and laughter through the walls. Although our space accommodates two, if you have more than two adults or children, please let us know so we can provide extra sleeping gear. There will be an extra person charge of $10 each person after 2, children under 12 are free of charge. The furnace is regulated in the main house, and provides heat to the suite, however we do provide an extra space heater and fan for your comfort. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and we provide breakfast items such as, coffee, a selection of teas, granola, milk, juice and fruit. Please ask if there is something you need for cooking that is not provided. There is no TV, a CD/ radio player is provided. The Garden Suite is next door to the Adorable Fairhaven Studio apartment so we can accommodate larger groups with our neighbors. If you need more space for friends and family let us know and we'll try and accommodate you. We do have a no pet policy, but if you must bring your pet along, please contact us before your visit. A pet fee will apply, $10. Please use the back yard garden spaces as they were your own. The back yard has quiet places to relax, and can be used at any time. We generally use the front gardens for our own use, and occasionally will be in the back working in the garden areas. A small garden patio outside the suite is for your use. Our house is smoke free and we would appreciate if you smoke outside only. Thank you!
The Southside, Happy Valley, Fairhaven neighborhood offers it's residents and guests many enjoyable and convenient amenities. Walking distance to the Alaskan Ferry terminal, Greyhound bus and train terminal, Western Washington University, Fairhaven Village, Taylor Dock and Boulevard Park, the Interurban trails of Chucknut Mt.(for biking and hiking), Haggen grocery store, and several restaurants and boutiques. Despite all this activity, our neighborhood is quiet, friendly and colorful, for walking, jogging or relaxing. The birds are plentiful, look for the bird book in the suite.
  • The garden and yard is lovely and the neighborhood is quiet. it would be an easy walk to downtown Fairhaven. The bed is comfortable and the apartment has a funky kind of charm if that appeals. I enjoyed my stay very much.

  • Staying at Laura and Derek's was a dream! Beautiful garden, the most darling living...and they compost! Highly recommend staying here for a night or two.

    Isabella2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as advertised, this little garden suite is small, clean, cozy, and classy. My wife and I were not in need of anything, and even though we didn't meet our hosts face-to-face, they were in contact and available throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

  • Laura and Derek were absolutely amazing hosts. Their home, garden, and neighborhood are beautiful and they made us feel welcome right away. Their garden suite is comfortable, clean, and peaceful and is the perfect place to stay for any occasion. It is conveniently located minutes from the highway and has many great restaurants and breweries nearby. Laura and Derek were very helpful in suggesting to us great places to eat or just spend time in the city. I would recommend them to anyone coming to stay in the Bellingham area and I would definitely stay with them next time we travel to the area.

    Neil2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • I was comfortable in Laura and Derek's cute, cozy, convenient, character cottage!

  • Breathtakingly beautiful space. Laura and Derek have a uniquely designed living space that will make any guest feel like they are home. Small but spacious area that will fill you with inspiration, joy, and peace. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time appreciating their art and felt nothing but happiness while we stayed the night. If you are looking for a peaceful get away from the world this is a place where you can rest!

  • Donna is a great host, and her place is AMAZING! She has thought of everything. We will definitely stay there again when in the area!

    Rita2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I absolutely LOVED the GarageMajal! It was very modern in style, yet with a nice mix of cabin feel between the colors and the wood present throughout. The skylights were the cherry on top of it all. Overall it was just nice having our own private space, yet having our hosts' house right there in case we needed anything. Donna and Vincent were excellent hosts - they respected our privacy, but were very much available for any questions or needs that we had during our stay. It was nice getting to meet them, and their place was very welcoming. They even offered to lend us their tandem bike, which we took them up on of course! We rode it every morning to go on scenic rides around town. Taking it to waterfront was the best. Bellingham was nothing short of gorgeous as a whole. Between the mountains, the bay, the proud local culture within the city, and this cozy home base, we were in paradise. We would definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to visit again someday. Highly recommended!

    Kevin2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and I cannot say enough about The GarageMahal! It was the perfect place for a mountian biking weekend for two away from the city. The pictures are spot on for describing the suite. But it can only be fully appreciated with a stay! I could go on at great length at how impeccably finished the suite was, but again just come and stay here. Tiny but well laid out and perfectly decorated with great pottery and artwork. Quiet and warm. (Saturday night was VERY cold and it snowed lightly. We woke up to a wind storm and VERY wintery icy conditions outside. The heated floors where a godsend and the unit is NOT drafty or cold!) While we did not put the kitchen to full use it was well appointed and we loved the gas stove! The location was perfect for walking to a few craft breweries and breakfast places. And as well, it was a very short drive (or Uber) away to downtown Bellingham. The unit was above the garage and we where able to store our mountain bikes there while we explored the area. I would suggest this place to all! We will be coming back to stay. Cheers Mark and Lisa

  • This place was exactly what my parents were looking for! They came to town to visit and the place was centrally located, clean, and cozy. There was a small kitchen in the unit, along with a TV and plenty of storage space. Although it is located above the garage next to the main house, it felt very private. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends again!

    Taylor2018-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely stay at the GarageMahal for three weeks while I was in Bellingham for work. The space is perfectly appointed with everything you could need. It is also in a good location with a perfect mix of a quiet neighborhood, but still close to downtown. Would definitely stay there again!

    Molly2017-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is definitely one of the best places I've stayed through AirB&B. I would recommend for a single person or couple. Great space and great location. Would recommend for your most discerning folks.

  • We had an extremely relaxing stay at Michelle & Peter's cabin. They've clearly put lots of thought into creating an escape for their guests. The home was lovely and well stocked, the tub was excellent and the bed was very cozy. The only thing I'd say to guests is that there are no curtains in the cabin, and there were a few times that we could see folks driving down the road or doing construction on the nearby cabin. I don't think anyone can see in but it could be disconcerting if you're expecting to be extremely secluded. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was exactly what we were looking for.

    Katie2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem in the woods. It feels remote, like you stepped into an secret forest oasis. We enjoyed the unique touches of the tree house and felt like we had all we needed. They thought of all the fun details of cabin/tree life. Our kids thought this was the coolest vacation spot yet.

    Vanessa2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is INCREDIBLE! The big tub really is awesome for soaking for hours and relaxing. They had a fan to sleep with which was perfect for my guy who can’t sleep without it. It had all the necessities in the kitchen and some snacks just in case! Very clean, well organized with nice touches. The furnace heated the whole place perfectly and we felt very secluded. Close driving distance to a great little bakery in Bow about 20 min away that we went to both mornings! Thank you Michelle & Peter for your hard work so we can enjoy this place again! We will definitely be back & highly recommend to anyone else!

    Katie2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle and Peter's Treehouse is AMAZING!! Here are several reasons why; Clean, comfortable bed, relaxing bathtub, beautiful creek, quiet, awesome sitting area by wood burning stove, well stocked kitchen and fridge, the list could go on forever! A 5 star stay all around!!

    Kobi2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Omg! This place was amazing. The drive was amazing the place was amazing all I can say wow. They were so welcoming and the craftsmanship was so great. If your looking for a serene getaway this is definitely a place to go.

    REbecca2017-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great weekend at Michelle & Peter's tree house. For a small place, the kitchen was pretty large and well stocked. The bed was so comfortable, seems like every time we laid down on it, we were fast asleep. The bathtub is an added bonus - large enough for 2. We got to have a campfire the first night (no rain) and they had also set up a new propane bbq for us to use. The other night & mornings we thoroughly enjoyed the indoor fireplace in the entry room. We spent a lot of time in there. I'm sure we will be back again. Such a relaxing stay.

    Robert2017-04-30T00:00:00Z

Perfect for the outdoor enthusiast. Ride to Chuckanut. Walk to Fairhaven/waterfront. Ten minutes to Galbraith for mountain biking and hiking. Bike and dog washing with outside shower. Please note, if you are 6 feet or taller you may bump your head if you don't stoop when getting in and out of bed. Separate entrance, queen bed, mini-fridge, coffee and TV. Near Lairmont Manor. The bathroom is open and part of the sleeping area. Perfect room for one; or two, if you know each other very well. :)
Well appointed, simple style, unique decor. Separate entrance at the top of the exterior stairs behind house. Storage in the large wicker basket, rolling bins under the bed or vaulted cubby space. Large, private backyard. Great facilities for bikers with secure storage and bike washing area. Easy walk to Fairhaven district for shopping and lots of restaurants. The Black Cat has great food or Dirty Dans. Rocket Donuts are the best! For a nice view and glass of wine, the Chyrsalis is wonderful. The waterfront has a great walking or biking trail to downtown Bellingham from Fairhaven. Perfect location for the avid Ski-to-Sea observer or participant. The breweries are abundant in B'ham!
  • This is such a cute space, and the owners keep it very clean, the mattress seems very new b/c it was firm and nice. There is a cute little refrigerator and Cindy had fresh filtered water waiting for me. I really appreciated being able to park right next to the house and access the stairs to the room, very convenient! Her backyard was so beautiful to look out at this morning. Cindy is definitely a great host!

    Chris2018-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy's place was perfect. It felt very secluded, but was only a 10 minute drive to the university. It was clean, but didn't feel sterile. There was coffee and tea, and the bed was super comfy. It's perfect for one person or two people that are very comfortable with each other. We would definitely stay again!

    Desireé2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay at Cindy’s place. It was so well decorated and made comfortable for the guests with little thoughtful details. The bed was extremely comfy and we had the best sleep before heading off on our road trip. Also amazing that pets are allowed. All in all a great stay and we will definitely be back!

    Amanda2018-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy is very quick to respond to any questions, and offered to make herself available if needed. The room is lovely and quiet, as is the neighborhood. I enjoyed my early morning walks. It’s a quiet residential area with peek a boo views of Bellingham Bay throughout the neighborhood.

    Susan2018-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is clean, charming and cozy. Arrangements and communications were clear and easy. Location was excellent. Close to Fairhaven and Western Wash. University. Hosts were friendly.

  • Cindy's place was lovely. Private, quiet, and the bed was so comfortable! She was great with communication and it was the perfect amount of space for my business trip. It was clean and even had some extras like water and snacks. I would highly recommend!

Beautiful setting that provides easy access to all that Bellingham has to offer. In the city but feels like the country. Our spacious suite is the perfect getaway for a couple or individual. With a private entrance, the 2nd floor studio and bathroom (on lower level) provide a great place to call home while in Bellingham. The king bed is ultra comfortable and the studio is perfect for those that want more space and amenities than a hotel room or shared house.
Our above garage suite is beautifully decorated with super comfortable king bed and comforter. Large armoire for clothing. High speed internet, microwave/toaster oven, Keurig, french press, small fridge and freezer, iron board, dishes, pots & pans and more. Hot plate available upon request. We only allow up to two people, but if you have an infant, don't hesitate to check with us. Interaction with guests: We are a text message away, anytime for anything! We live in the main house, but value your privacy. Our Clean Unit Guarantee - We want our guests to know that we provide clean bed sheets, pillow cases, duvet cover, mattress pad and bathroom towels/cloths for every visitor. We personally clean all surfaces upstairs and in the bathroom prior to every guest and do not use a cleaning company. This is how we like places when we visit, so we feel our guests deserve the same treatment! The neighborhood: Centrally located to EVERYTHING...Right on the trail system that runs throughout Bellingham. Near St. Joseph's Hospital, Barkley Village, downtown Bellingham, WWU and easy access to the freeway north and south. You can be on the road (State Rte. 542) to Mt. Baker in about 2 minutes from our house. Check out the notebook in the suite for information about our area, local trails and great places to eat, drink and hang out. Our location is central whether driving, riding or walking. We are right on the interurban trail that takes you all over Bellingham. We are also only a few minutes from downtown and the I5 Freeway. We are local and know Bellingham very well! If you have questions don't hesitate to ask.
Our home is walking distance to Barkley Village, Whatcom Falls Park, Lake Whatcom and provides easy access to just about all of Bellingham. Though you drive up through a typical neighborhood, our area has a limited number of houses on large lots. Almost all the homes on our private driveway have at least 3/4 of an acre, so there is no one super close.
  • Matt and Laura were wonderful hosts. When we arrived we were welcomed with two local beers to enjoy during our stay. The private suite had all the amenities we needed and we were very comfortable during our stay. We would highly recommend spending your time in Bellingham at this airbnb!

    Kyle2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Laura were very welcoming and kind hosts. Communication was great and I was able to check in around 9 pm with no issues. They were very friendly and helpful, with plenty of suggestions or just good conversation. The space itself was very comfortable, clean and we'll equipped. The neighborhood was a quick drive to downtown and walking distance to some shopping and restaurants. Would definitely recommend their place!

    Elizabeth2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at this AirBNB was everything we could hope for. Close to downtown, but secluded and quite as well. Matt ( our host ) was very easy to communicate with and was only involved when necessary. The space was clean and cozy, had everything you need. Would highly recommend

  • Overall, this was an EXCELLENT place to stay in Bellingham. I don't mind giving up the bustle of the center of town for such an idyllic and quiet location just a short drive to the center. The studio was spacious, clean, smartly decorated and super comfortable. Great WI-FI and plenty of TV stations to enjoy. I give it my highest recommendation.

  • Matt & Laura’s place is super cute and cozy. The bed is extremely comfortable. Being close to the trail was nice for an evening walk. Great location in Bellingham. Close enough to stuff but still a nice quiet neighborhood.

    Katie2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Matt & Laura have thought of everything you might need during your stay and have provided a guest suite that is stylish, squeaky clean, and comfortable. They were incredibly accommodating- allowing us to check-in as soon as previous guests had left and even providing our baby with a portable crib and toys. The neighborhood is a great location for walking or driving around town and it was full of deer and other wildlife. Matt & Laura have a beautiful home which made for an outstanding visit to Bellingham.

Our newly renovated Basement Studio is awesome for anyone that is looking for a clean, modern space close to downtown Bellingham. In the historic Lettered Streets neighborhood, walk to all the great breweries and restaurants. Although this house was built in the late 1800's... the studio is new, bright, and a perfect getaway. It has it all: King Size bed, a gorgeous walk-in shower, and a mud-room to store outdoor bikes, boards, skis, and kayaks. More photos coming soon!
This space has been 100% renovated! Every aspect is new, fresh, and clean. It is the bottom floor of a 3 story home that was built in 1886! The front door opens directly to the driveway, so there is no need to haul your luggage very far. Full kitchen is provided, with a full size stove, sink, and refrigerator. We also provide a Keurig coffee maker. and moderate cooking supplies. We provide simple amenities to make you feel at home, such as a hair dryer, iron, and desk space. We also love to give people a feel for the historic charm of our old Bellingham neighborhood, so we have incorporated historic black and white photos from the Whatcom Museum. We also love the vintage inspired record player to add some ambience to the space and hope guests enjoy a record or two while they are here.
  • Lindsy and Eli’s place was the perfect getaway for me and my husband! It’s beautiful, it’s clean, the sheets are amazingly soft, it’s walkable to downtown, and Lindsy and Eli provide a comprehensive list of great recommendations!

    Mckenzie2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our overnight at Lindsy and Eli's place! Quiet and relaxing with beautiful design details. Would recommend for a getaway!

  • Home away from home, complete with comfy couch and breakfast nook. A wonderful place to stay if you’re visiting Bellingham!

    Janet2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming apartment! It is bright, cheery and roomy. I am in awe of Lindsy’s design and decorating talents. The apartment is beyond comfortable with attention to detail in decorating that is both artistic and warm. The bed is comfy as are the seating areas. Loved the shower! The location is ideal, within easy walking distance to downtown. Lindsy in a very thoughtful, responsive host. She provided us with great restaurant suggestions and called us to let us know we could check in early. She responded immediately to any questions we had. You will love staying in this wonderful apartment.

    Sheila2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little ground level suite that’s immaculate. We really enjoyed the big walk in shower and loved that there was a king bed similar to ours at home. The sheets were clean and fresh, we also appreciated the host communicating with us so well.

    Jenelle2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The unit was just as described and met our needs nicely. Location was convenient to downtown and there was plenty of space for us. Kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Being on the ground floor it does have more of a daylight basement feel as you go back into the unit, but that was as described so not a surprise. Communications with the host were excellent and accessing the unit went smoothly. Overall a good value for a convenient location that was also very quiet during the night, except for the occasional train horns that you hear anywhere in Bellingham. We would certainly consider staying there again if in Bellingham.

    Robert2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, well-designed spot in a great location. Close to downtown, some great pubs, and really neat, historic homes. Recommend!

  • Nice place in a good location, walking distance to downtown. Nice, modern decor. And Lindsy provided good tips for local restaurants, bars etc. Definitely can recommend this place.

Sunny, cozy studio "Chalet" located in a beautiful garden space. Swim in the pool in the summer, hot tub in the winter. Fresh eggs from our chickens provided. 12 minutes from downtown, 6 minutes from the airport.
Come and relax in our sunny studio surrounded by an organic fruit and vegetable garden on our acre in semi-rural Bellingham. There is 1 Queen sized bed, a pull out love seat sized bed, a shower, washer/dryer, full kitchen and living room. Children are welcome. We have a playground and zip line in our yard to use as well. Help yourself to eggs from our chickens, fresh herbs and our garden bounty. We are 6 minutes from Bellingham International Airport, 10 minutes from downtown Bellingham and Western Washington University, ½ mile from the bus line and ½ mile from the Nooksack River levee trail. We're also about an hour and a half from the Mt.Baker ski area. Our neighborhood is friendly and quiet. At night you’ll hear owls and frogs, during the days in the summer you can swim in our pool. We have 15 chickens, a box turtle, 2 bunnies and 2 children.
Our neighborhood is full of very warm and friendly people. It is quiet and pretty.
  • Thank you so much for the wonderful, relaxing weekend! Your home, garden, chickens and family are so beautiful - thank you for sharing your space with us. We hope to come back next year. <3

  • What a beautiful and welcoming stay! Not sure the photos do it enough justice. Lovely interaction with the family. Safe, secure, and extremely convenient. Less than 20 minutes to any part of Bellingham! We came her on business, but absolutely left feeling like we had a vacation. I cannot wait to return!

  • The Chalet was cozy and quiet. The hot tub was lovely on a crisp clear Spring night. It was helpful to have a dryer for our suits after. And the chickens were cute! (Plus delicious fresh eggs with our coffee).

  • Our time at the Chalet was completely wonderful! The space it self is clean, well-appointed, and spacious. Very comfortable bed & a great kitchen (including fresh eggs and vegetables from the garden outside). The surroundings are gorgeous -- this is a great place to relax, or to serve as a home base for exploring the Bellingham area. Tami was very communicative and flexible. I can't recommend the Chalet highly enough!

  • Great, clean, cozy place on the northwest edge of town in a private setting. At night we heard frogs and a distant train -- very relaxing. In the morning we scrambled some eggs and then, on our way out, said hi to the hens that were kind enough to produce them. Quite the Airbnb gem!

  • What a great place! We loved getting out of the city and falling asleep to the sound of frogs. The gardens are beautiful and the fresh cut tulips on the table were so thoughtful. And the eggs were delicious!

Great place for a weekend escape from Seattle. The house has an amazing view and is right on the water. The apartment is clean and has most everything you need. The hosts are great and available to help with anything you need.

Everything went perfectly! Great communication from our gracious hosts. Coffee, muffins, views, location, bed, bath, BATH ROBES!!! everything you could want in a place to rest your head in a beautifully crafted building. It's inspiring to see people put this effort in toward the relatively young Airbnb community. Thanks so much!

Rakefet's guest house was beautiful. I rented it out for my mom's 60th birthday. When we arrived Rakefet had the place open with the lights and heat on. We took a quick brisk stroll through her beautiful garden, definitely a lovely place to hangout during the summer months. We never had the chance to meet Rakefet because it was a fast and furious trip but she was diligent in checking in with us to make sure we enjoyed everything!
