  • If I could give 6 stars for everything I would! Lance was helpful and communicated everything clearly. He went out of his way to be an amazing host and his cat is just so sweet. I highly recommend staying in this amazing location and as a host Lance's warmth and humor made our first AirB&B experience out of this world outstanding!

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • Jack and Cris were very hospitable and made our first Airbnb stay a great one! This is a really unique spot in Portland and even our Uber drivers were jealous. Haha.

    Grella2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect! The space is unique and comfortable. If we are ever in Portland again, we'll be sure to see if Chris and Jack have space for us,

    Kate2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • A very lovely place in a peaceful neighborhood.

    Emily2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is the place to stay for one or two people who want to disconnect from the world in the middle of town! No tv, but it does have power outlets. Also if you don't mind the adventure of leaving the cottage to go outside, around the corner, and up the stairs to use the restroom or shower. This was my very first airbnb and I was looking for unique. I found it! Quiet, private, secluded. Only minutes away from a Starbucks and restaurants. so great owners that give or leave you with you space you need.

  • Jack was away on our stay but we did get to meet cris. The cob was SUPER cute and the perfect size for sleeping. Upon our arrival Cris did explain that the bathroom is separate from the cob and how to get to it, very easy. The bathroom was well stocked with the essentials I would only ask for maybe one more towel and that's it! Super clean, smelled nice, had tp, just what a lady needs. The wifi password and other info was on a nice little card in the cob. The cob also had the option of an AC or heater which was very useful. Cris let us enjoy our time and was readily available if we had any questions. I really appreciate her letting us stay there for our time in Portland. For sure some interesting shire vibes happening. Check out was confusing ,on my behalf, on my app it said something along the lines of check out being negotionable. (Pretty sure the ios Airbnb app is malfunctioning this week or something) regardless cris was very understanding of the time mishap and also the fact that I accidentally took her keys in the hulabaloo of me being late! Yikes! Cris took it very well though and was nice about it. Mistakes happen:/ it just sucks when it's a stress induced situation by me. Long story short, if you're thinking about it go for it!

    Victoria2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay!

    Nick And Lindsey2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was very welcoming. The cottage is in a very serene setting and we enjoyed sitting by the pond with a nice cup of tea. The neighborhood is lovely and it's a short walk to Division St...full of great restaurants and fun and unique places!

    Rick2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliantly located just off Richmond’s main street - this is a great area for local shops, art galleries, craft centres, restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Fairly easy to get into central Portland too. The room/mini house (!) was totally unique, a really interesting place to stay, and it was well thought out with all the little details that make the stay easier. A warm, cosy, great place.

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • Cozy space for two, lots of dining options within waking distance.

  • This was our first trip to Portland and Andrée's home was true to the description--a perfectly cozy cabin to relax and to check out the sights and sounds of the city. She was an extremely welcoming and gracious host who gave us insider local info on restaurants and neighborhoods. We would definitely stay there again on our next visit.

    Melissa2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was a wonderful, wonderful host. She waited up for us till 3 in the morning to help us check in after a very delayed drive up from San Francisco, and was extremely friendly and accommodating during our stay at her studio, which was beautiful, well-kept, and a quintessential Portland space that was cozy and had more amenities than we could ask for. I very much enjoyed chatting with Andrée while she was around (I am a little obsessed with her Shih Tzu, Boo, haha), and she was happy to give us suggestions for places we should visit. Didn't get a chance to visit her consignment store, but I'd love to next time. Would most definitely recommend her to all of my friends visiting Portland!

    Christine2013-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Andrée's place was great! The Garden Studio was so cute and the bed was really comfortable. I also really enjoyed sitting in the backyard garden. Everything comes as described and advertised -- no surprises or set-backs. I didn't have a car while I was in Portland but I really didn't need one. The 8 bus picks you up two blocks away and goes directly into downtown. Or you can get off a couple stops early and be right on Alberta Street. There's also a really good market/deli around the corner where you can buy $2 beers :) And if for some reason that's closed, there are some other eateries/bars just a 10 minute walk from the house. It was really a pleasant stay and the host, Andrée, was very accommodating and welcoming.

    Chrissy2014-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at the Rustic Barn Studio! It has a very cozy feel. Andrée greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour/explained everything to us. She also gave us great suggestions on places to eat around the area. The studio was warm with heaters and we had more than enough blankets to keep warm! There were also snacks in there that we were able to take hiking. Another thing is that Andrée was very accommodating to some last minute changes I had. I really appreciated her flexibility and great character! I would definitely stay here again or recommend a friend to stay here.

    Stacy2015-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time staying at Andrée's studio! It was the perfect location to check out the Alberta Arts neighborhood and a quick and easy bus ride downtown. The studio was cozy, with all the amenities I needed and Andrée was really friendly and wonderful to chat with. Would definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a comfortable place to crash after enjoying your days out exploring Portland.

    Kathryn2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée is mega dope! She's great with communicating and also great with helping you have a good time in portland. She's lenient with some understandable rules... Also tiny houses are dope... BOOK WITH HER!

    Azariah2017-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had such a fantastic time in Portland and couldn't have imagined a better place to stay than Andrée's adorable garden studio. She was an excellent and accommodating host, and I hope to stay with her again on my next trip up north. I recommend renting bikes during your stay-- they made it so easy to get around the city from this location!

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, a queen bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv including HBO, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a queen bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • La casa es muy bonita y limpia. Todo funciona: chimenea, agua caliente, estufa... Todo. El barrio es hermoso. Parece de un cuento. El acceso al centro de la ciudad es fácil y más o menos rápido.

    Pixel2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming and well-appointed place. Design details have been preserved without losing the conveniences of modern life. The electricity went out, but the fireplace kept me from freezing and the snuggley warm bed made mornings a joy. We stayed in bed till noon at least twice during our week stay. The location is fantastic: a beautiful, quiet neighborhood in walking distance of the bus line to downtown and lots of life on nearby Broadway. The leaded windows provide lots of natural light and perfect viewing for the falling snow.

    Caroline2016-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home in an exquisite neighborhood!!

    Tamara2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's apt is located in a prime location, just a short senic walk to restaurants and bars. The neighborhood is family friendly and very nice. Although it was too warm to use the fireplace the apt was very cozy. We loved that there were games to play and a fully stocked kitchen. My only suggestion is to bring your own toiletries and be prepared for a very small shower. We would definitely stay there again! Thank you Jason!

    Karen2017-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent apartment in an excellent neighborhood! We couldn't locate the key initially, but the host was on it ASAP! Would definitely come back. The bike rentals were a definite plus.

    Kyle2015-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! The room looked exactly like the photos and the bed was super comfy! Nestled in a very cute, tree lined neighborhood that is very walkable and close to public transportation. Was a great home base from which to explore Portland.

    Emily2015-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great studio in a good location in NE Portland. The private side entrance is very convenient, and the space heater came in handy during the unseasonably cold weekend!

If we are home when you arrive, we will be happy to give you a tour of our home and offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine while you have complete access to our English gardens, courtyard and barbecue during your stay. We think you will be pleased if you choose to stay in the "Quaint English Garden Apartment " located in our beautiful historic home!
Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • This air bnb is fantastic! Really unique place with the beautiful gardens, antique furnishings and historic home. The neighborhood is beautiful conveniently located. Sue and Bob communicate all the necessary details about check-in, were very flexible about allowing a late check out and kindly gave us a tour of their lovely home. The apartment is very clean, the bed was cozy and their instruction book offered helpful tips for navigating the city. A+ listing all around.

    Megan2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect house for 2 people to stay in while in Portland. It's located about a 10 minute drive from Division street which is where a lot of the fun places to go is located. We found it quite easy to find. It's very relaxing and Bob and Sue provide you with everything you need to be comfortable. There is a binder placed on the table that gives great information, the greatest was the recommendation for the screen door. Wonderful food! The communication with Bob and Sue was wonderful. I spoke with them at length months before our visit to talk about things to go and places to see and they were full of wonderful suggestions. Thank you!

    Bri2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Not only were Sue and Bob the most kind and gracious hosts, they were incredibly responsive and helpful. We came to town to look at homes and they offered great advice! Also, the apartment was exactly as advertised, if not better. Every need was anticipated and it was so charming and perfectly decorated. I only have one piece of advice. If you are above 6'5" this place may be too short for you. Otherwise I couldn't be more glad that I stayed here instead of a hotel! 5 stars!

    Stephanie2015-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and bob were wonderful hosts who made our stay in Portland very comfortable. Sue was so friendly and even gave us a tour of her lovely historic home. the cottage itself is warm and cozy, and has been decorated beautifully. Plus they have an amazing garden! We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy place to unwind :)

    Shuba2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's cottage is completely adorable. It's close to Laurelhurst Park, a lovely place to hang out if the weather is affable. Also walking distance to many of the attractions of Burnside and Hawthorn streets of SE Portland. Sue was very responsive and accommodating; we had trouble locating the iron on arrival and they loaned us the one from the house immediately.

    Troy2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Bob’s beautiful brick home in Laurelhurst is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Portland. Their garden is lovely, the accommodations comfortable, and they are super friendly and helpful/informative. Many great little restaurants in and around Laurelhurst and a 3 minute walk to the bus stop to catch the #19 bus for a 25 minute drive into downtown Portland. We rented bikes there one day and took a great 14 mile loop ride along the river.

    Peter2018-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Bob were wonderful hosts for our time in Portland -- they were friendly and accommodating from start to finish, from Bob lending a hand with our bags to Sue helping us find a lunch spot as we were leaving town. Their home is beautiful, inside and out, and it's in a nice quiet neighborhood. Wish we'd spent some time in the garden (alas, it was 100 degrees) -- hopefully there will be another visit.

    Jamie2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • very hospitable hosts ... cozy apartment with many extras including yogurt in the fridge and flowers/fruit on the table ... an umbrella at the ready for the drizzle ... a binder full of tips and directions. Go! You'll really enjoy your stay. Claire & Keely

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • I absolutely loved my stay at Laurel and Brian's studio Its in such a hip and emerging neighborhood, and the amenities were perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed for ocassional meals although the location was also really great being walking-distance to good restaurants and bars for those times when we weren't in the mood to cook for ourselves. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. This was the best airbnb I have ever experienced. The accommodations were the perfect setting to the perfect vacation. It was so magical!!!! Many thanks Laurel & Brian.

  • This place is great! It's a really well thought out space, the bed is comfortable, and the location is superb. Very close to lots of great shops and restaurants on Division and Hawthorne. Laurel and Brian provide tons of recommendations for things to do and places to eat. We definitely highly recommend it.

  • This was a perfect Airbnb. Immaculately clean, no clutter, just enough well-chosen amenities. Great suggestions for local coffee, food. Friendly reception but plenty of privacy. So much sunlight. Very comfy bed and duvet. I loved it!

Where Bali meets Portland. Come relax in this newly, beautifully designed, private mixed use accommodation. Just five short blocks from Portland's hip N Williams district. A rooftop deck.
I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • First trip to Portland with my boyfriend and first time using Airbnb. It was perfect. I would 100% stay in this Airbnb again. The room and building looked exactly like the photos, and the outdoor deck was so awesome! The bed was insanely comfortable, to the point of rethinking our plans and just staying inside all day. The owner was very nice and helpful our entire stay. Absolutely recommend this rental 100x over. Thanks for the great stay! We will definitely be back soon!

  • Staying with Timothy was an excellent experience. Communication was great, the room was clean and attractive, and the location allowed for easy parking with plenty of restaurants nearby. Hope to stay again!

    Nate2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy was so helpful, letting me leave my bag in his apartment earlier in the day before check in. The place was clean and comfortable and the location is really central and convenient. As one of the other guests noted, the road is quite loud, but that is to be expected in the center of this urban district.

    Diana2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent 1 night stay at Timothy's place. It was very comfortable and perfectly fit our needs as we were passing through Portland on a road trip. The deck is lovely, especially in the morning with a cup of the coffee that Timothy provides. Also, the bikes that he has available were perfect for exploring the city. The room was very clean and we loved the decor. The small fridge came in handy as well. Thanks for everything!

    Kate2015-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was a very nice and welcoming host! He answered many questions I have about Portland, and this place is definitely worth staying if you do not mind taking the bus to take the MAX or the Portland Streetcar.

    Wilson2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at NEPO. The room was just like it was pictured. Though its difficult to get a sense of the whole place from the pictures online, its a loft suite of 5 or 6 separate rooms, with separate washrooms and shower rooms. The room had its own sink, fridge and microwave. Something more like a small hotel than staying in someone's house. It was exactly what we wanted. Timothy was right next door, but we felt the privacy and autonomy of a hotel which was perfect! It was also above an excellent restaurant ned lud, which coincidently was one of the recommended restaurants from our friends who previously lived in Portland. A perfect place to relax and eat after a long drive. We'd absolutely stay there again.

    Amy2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time here. Very comfortable room in a great neighborhood!!

    Daniela2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • It's a nice place. Tim keeps it very clean and our bed was super comfy. Get the king suite size if you can as it is right across from the WC and showers. You probably should rent a car because its a few minutes from downtown proper and points north and west. The whole place reminded me of pensiones I have stayed in in Europe.

Overlook is an incredible neighborhood close to everything. Overlook park is only a block away, and the Bluff park is a few minutes walk and offers amazing views of the city and the river. You can't beat it.
  • I came to Portland for work and found Scott's place to be exactly what I needed. The room was comfortable and well-appointed with a small fridge (stocked with bubbly water even!), a few snacks and a coffee maker. There was even chocolates by the bed - as well as an entire stack of local magazines and brochures if anyone needed them. There was plenty of parking for my car, and it was a nice, short walk to the max which brought me right downtown. Scott's is also really quiet, which was exactly what I was after. Hands down, would stay again!

    Jacqueline2017-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place is really adorable and comes at a fair price. Located in a quiet family-neighborhood but not too far from hip places to eat and drink. Scott keeps the place very tidy and makes super clear descriptions and responds very fast. I would definitely recommend this place!

    Florian2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Scott’s home is very welcoming and modern. The house was equipped with everything we would need. Overlook park is a minute or two away from the home by walking and public transportation is a 5 minute walk from the house. I would definitely recommend his place

    Matthew2018-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Scott was the perfect host! Incredibly thoughtful (welcome notes, early morning scones, treats and things, etc.) and really friendly! He went above and beyond to make me feel at home, and I thank him for making my trip out to Portland that much sweeter.

    Kristianne2016-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's place on the Overlook in Portland is just about as charming as a place can be and Scott himself is pretty darned charming too. The little bedroom and private bath are just perfect for a stay in Portland, and only about three blocks from the max train.

    Tim2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Scott was the most welcoming host imaginable! This was my first time using AirBNB and Scott's hospitality definitely makes me want to become a repeat visitor. His home was as described, and the neighborhood was very quiet and well-connected to Portland. Scott was also one of the nicest people possible and I appreciate his kindness and generosity!

    Bryce2015-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Located in a neighborhood that is pretty much a 10-15 minute drive to anywhere in Portland. Would stay here again !

    Abbey2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Scott is a truly exceptional host. I really couldn't imagine anything that would have made me feel more at home. The room has everything you would need to feel comfortable. Scott goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. The entire home is beautifully furnished with a beautiful backyard and a fire pit. He's done a great job to make it a warm home for himself and he shares is graciously. Thank you for everything, Scott!

This listing is a private bedroom in a shared apartment with 3 other individuals. We are considerate, quiet, & conscious of our guests space & privacy. In the heart of Portland's NW 23rd District, our place is nestled close to some of Portland's finest shops & cafes: Salt & Straw, Barista, and Fireside to name a few. The apartment has become a "destination" in itself due to the amazing natural light & Scandinavian interior design - even garnering its own hashtag on Instagram (#theaptupstairs).
"The Apartment Upstairs" is perfect for couples, urban adventurers, and creative travelers. Private bedroom outfitted with luxury Portuguese linen, plush Turkish cotton towels, waffle knit robes & slippers, & alpaca wool throws from our friends over at Parachute Home. All room decor and artwork is done by fellow Portland & Los Angeles creatives.
  • Benjamin and his house-mates were excellent hosts and made us feel very comfortable! We have a wonderful time in Portland, and coming back to their immaculately decorated home with the most comfortable bed and incredible pillows was a treat. Would definitely recommend their home!

    Gyungeun2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Benjamin's place was perfect. Beautifully decorated and located on a quiet street just a few steps away from a main street with plenty of food, drinks, and shopping. I would highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Portland!

    Erin2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place was beautiful! I know Ben is a photographer but I wish I could hire him as my interior decorator :) He was responsive and accommodating during our stay in Portland. The location is prime, right next to some great restaurants like Fireside, Bamboo Sushi, and Salt and Straw. I would definitely stay here again.

    Sarah2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • They were very thoughtful hosts and the place was clean. They provided a well curated list of places to visit/things to do in Portland, OR.

    Neeth2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ben's place is very comfortable and has a great style. It's a small but cosy room and has a shared bathroom. Check-in was very easy even though Benjamin wasn't there to show us around. We very much enjoyed his list of recommendations. 23rd street is nearby the apartment where you'll find good Cafés, restaurants and stores. We had a great time in Portland and definitely recommend the aptupstairs!

    Daniel2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • i absolutely loved my stay at the Apt Upstairs. The space was light, airy and gorgeously decorated. Conveniently located exactly where I needed to be for food, coffee, and entertainment I moved easily on foot and public transport. A fabulously hip area where I felt at home, and will return!

    Clemency2016-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nicely furnished apartment in a really fun neighborhood. The room is small, but sufficient for two people. Comfortable warm bed, but you probably won't be staying in the room much anyways. We had everything we needed for the stay and Benjamin gave us great recommendations on places to see, eat, and drink. We literally walked all over town from this location.

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Absolutely gorgeous and inspiring space, short walk to restaurants and bars. Also the easiest check in/out experience I have ever had with an Air BnB- hosts are very communicative and accommodating! I’ll definitely look to book this space again if my travels take me back to Portland.

    Heather2018-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect AIR BnB, couldn’t be any more impressed by the hospitality and professionalism shown by these folks! Highly recommend this place to others.

    Alex2018-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the space Anna & Jeremy have created is incredibly thoughtful and beautiful. It is charming, yet cozy and has everything you need. The neighborhood is adorable and has restaurants within walking distance. It was a perfect place to stay for our last night of a long trip!

    Kelly2018-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful, quiet place to stay in a walkable neighborhood of NE Portland. The hosts were very informative and friendly and the location was very accessible but also quiet enough for our down time from our (Website hidden by Airbnb) space itself has been well represented with lovely details and a perfect spot to call home on your next visit to Portland.

    Erika2017-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • This basement apartment is clean, comfortable and private. We didn't see Anna or Jeremy much but didn't need to since everything we needed was already provided for. The location was great, close to everything. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!

    Mary2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first airbnb experience and it went really smoothly. The listing was completely accurate. It's a large apartment and really lovely.

    Lauren2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome spot - recently renovated / updated with nice design touches. Overall it had a very clean and modern feel. Plus the hosts were great to communicate with and very thoughtful :)

    Benjamin2014-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great space--these people have good taste so it was both comfortable and aesthetically pleasing! Excellent value. We spent one night here and would have liked to stay longer. We only used the bed (comfortable) and shower (awesome) but if I were to return for a longer stay I would utilize the sweet little kitchen and pleasant living space. This is a great place to stay!

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • Such a beautiful home, welcoming hosts and everything you could ever need for a great trip to Portland! We loved staying here.

    Danielle2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • This listing is exactly as described. Brad was very understanding of how tired my boyfriend and I were on arrival and gave us plenty of privacy. Also very close to a good bus line!

    Nina2014-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca are great hosts. Their place is spotlessly clean and provides comfortable accommodation. I had extra luggage to store while there and they had no problem accommodating me.

    Camille2014-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great room in a cool neighborhood in a fantastic city. It was very convenient to public transport and an easy drive to almost anywhere. Highly recommended.

    Marc2014-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • I very HIGHLY RECOMMEND anybody stay here. It is a beautiful home with very accommodating hosts. If you don't want to feel like the stranger in the house, this is a good choice. Good vibes, clean home, plenty of room, intelligent conversation, and one of our best decisions of the trip. Just a bus trip from Hawthorne and down town. There is definitely a good reason their calendar is filling up.

    Derek2013-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was a completely last minute booking. Brad and Becca responded promptly and hooked us up for a respite on a very long drive. It was exactly what my daughter and I needed. She was so impressed with the way it all worked out. Pretty cool to be able to show your adult daughter how technology works these days! Thanks Brad and Becca, Carlos and Biscuit.

    Susan2014-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca have an awesome space, and they helped out by providing some suggestions with a custom map to make our trip even better. We ran into Brad outside and he was very welcoming. Thanks for the great experience!

  • I am a passionate airbnb host and so of course use airbnb when I travel. This space was very reasonably priced, immaculately clean, and very well located. We were going to a graduation for our son at Reed College and it was about five minutes away. The house came complete with a wonderful cat named Biscuit who was totally cuddly and made my stay incredible. The hosts cleaned the light, airy bathroom every day and left us to our own devices. We had access to the kitchen to make coffee and get our cereal and felt secure and very comfortable. Parking on the street was never a problem. Also, the hosts were more than gracious about canceling an additional night we did not need. They did not have to, but gave us a full refund. YOu would pay triple this amount to stay in a comparable hotel experience, and would not have the luxury of feeling like you a re i,n a unique space. The hosts, though somewhat reserved and formal, were gracious and take airbnb seriously. They pay their taxes and are fully above board. I would recommend them heartily. You won't find a cleaner, more accessible and affordable place to stay in Portland.

  • Anastasia's apt was clean, great location, and when I stay in Portland it will be my first call to stay again. Highly recommended.

    Mark2018-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Lovejoy room was fantastic! The photos were accurate and already looked wonderful - the actual unit was even better! It was sparkling clean and incredibly comfortable. The parking and location were great. I highly recommend staying there. This was by far the best Airbnb experience I’ve had.

    Jessica2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great clean unit, really close to restaurants and transit. A little further from the core but easily accessible by streetcar. Anastasia was very responsive and everything was ready. You can sometimes hear Anastasia's family in the morning though the walls, but it wasn't loud enough to be a problem (unless you're a very light sleeper)

    Sherman2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice apartment in a great area in Portland. We were there for 4 days and loved the place and the area. It's walking distance to lots of cozy and nice bars and restaurants. The apartment looks a bit small in the pictures but it's actually perfect for a couple. Also, Anastasia was a great host. Highly recommended if you are visiting Portland.

    Enrique2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Anastasia was splendid. By far one of the nicest, helpful and easy experiences I've had so far. She was flexible from check in to check out, even when my scheduled changed last minute. The apartment was far nicer than the pictures depict and the location was central yet peaceful. Definitely will stay again with her if I come back to town. Highly recommend staying with her.

    Anibal2016-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Anastasia's place! The room was comfortable, clean and quiet and easy to access. This is the perfect place to stay if you're looking to explore downtown Portland and the surrounding areas, while also having a place to chill and unwind at the end of the day. Anastasia also made great recommendations about places to go in the neighborhood, my favorite being Escape from New York Pizza. :)

    Katie2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best Airbnb house that I've lived in! It's clean, tidy and comfortable. I really love the neighborhood. Good food and shops within walking distance. Green trees and friendly people. It's the best part about Portland. Definitely will come back again!

    Rella2016-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Anastia's place was truly perfect. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights and wanted a place that was quiet but also had places to walk nearby. This spot is great for walking up and down 23rd where the best shops and great eateries. Also walking distance to Washington park and the beautiful gardens there. Highly recommended!!! Also definitely ask for anastia's list of things to do in Portland, a great list!

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D
  • We really enjoyed our stay at South Tabor Cottage. It was close to everything and parking was always a available right in front of house. Lisa's homemade breakfasts were so yummy and filling too. We'd definitely stay here again if we come back to Portland! Oh, and the bed was very comfortable and cozy.

    Lindsay2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding! The cottage is cute and not as small as would appear from the description. Lisa undersells and overdelivers. Everything you need is there including a wide range of guidebooks and map. Even thougj we had a car, the cottage is so convenient for major bus routes that that is what we did most days. I cant even begin to describe the breakfast. Qe are vegan so are accostomed to bland whatevers. What we got was sumptous trays laden with goodies to make breakfast burritos. Rice, oats, tofu, mushrooms, leeks, beans and more!!!

    Christine2013-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is the best. Her bubbly enthusiasm and laughter made us feel welcome immediately. The cottage and the neighborhood were as advertised. We loved the neighborhood. And there are no words to describe Lisa's scrumptious breakfast.

    Cindy2014-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay. We slept better here than any place we have ever stayed! Breakfast was fantastic! Thanks Lisa!

    Lisa2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at the cottage as part of an anniversary road trip. It was such a cute cottage, just as described. Lisa was a fantastic host--very hospitable and welcoming. Her breakfasts were delicious too--it was very nice to have a delicious hot breakfast at our door each morning. Our first morning we left very early (5AM) to watch a soccer match and as we got ready we were delighted to see a jar of coffee on the counter. That absolutely saved our morning. There were so many nice little touches like this in the cottage--containers of soap in the shower, hand towels--things we wouldn't have thought to pack but ended up coming in handy. Overall, this cute cottage was a great value and we would definitely consider returning the next time we're in Portland.

  • Lisa is a fantastic host and the cottage made for a wonderful trip to Portland. The space was clean, well appointed, and comfortable, with the home-cooked breakfasts a well-appreciated bonus. The location of the cottage was great, located in a quiet neighborhood that was still convenient for getting to shopping and eating places (my girlfriend and I brought bikes, and found the streets around the neighborhood really easy to navigate on two wheels). Only word of warning might be that the stairs leading to the upstairs sleeping area are on the steep side, so if you're not comfortable with tall stairs this might not be the best match. But if you're looking for a great place to stay and get a taste of the tiny house style, I highly recommend the south tabor cottage. I'll certainly be staying again if I find myself in Portland again! PS: Lisa make a mean green salsa, super delicious!

    Eugene2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's house was very inviting and we had always wanted to try out a "tiny house" concept. As we have two daughters in Portland, we knew we wouldn't be there all that much, but wanted a comfy bed, friendly host, quiet neighborhood and easy in and out. We got all that and ... eggs benedict hand-made by Lisa and delivered to the door in the morning! Not bad - clean, but (Website hidden by Airbnb) is a "tiny" house, so hold it to 2 max!

    Barbara2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Super comfy cottage with nice touches. Lovely backyard with a quince tree right at the door. Feels like Portland. Thanks Lisa!

Nestled in the private backyard of our family home, a neighborhood hub. The round, rustic, romantic MudHut hides in a secret garden overlooking the St. Johns bridge and sparkling river, near Cathedral Park, Forest Park, downtown St. Johns, canoe and hiking trails... Firepit, permaculture gardens, loaner bikes, community life, view!
Our hut was handbuilt by family, friends, and community with great love and serves as a guesthouse, homeschool hut, sauna and sanctuary. Wood-heated and candle-lit, it's a tranquil, rustic sleeping space. I recommend staying two nights for an immersive experience in the relaxing atmosphere.
We're in St. Johns, Portland's northern-most neighborhood and a small town of its own with a strong community identity here. Many families here trace their roots back to James John, the pioneer founder of St. Johns who is memorialized all over the neighborhood. Downtown St. Johns is a few blocks away, with plenty of restaurants (Thai, vegan, soulfood, chinese, pub grub, pizza, deli, breakfast, coffee & gelato), an old movie theater and shopping (lots of vintage). Cathedral Park, three blocks away, is gorgeous and photogenic with access to the Willamette River and the awesome overhead presence of the gothic St. Johns Bridge that you can see from the hut. We're also close to a lot of natural areas for urban hiking and paddling. Forest Park, full of trails and old growth forest, is right across the bridge. Just north of here is Kelley Point Park, the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers; Smith and Bybee Lakes, a wetlands for birding and paddling; and Sauvie Island, with beaches, farms, nurseries, hiking, fishing, & birding. We're on the Pacific migratory fly-way, so lots of raptor action around here. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks swoop by regularly.
  • Ivy was fantastic and the mud hut was a hovel to remember. Spent the evening gazing at the St. John's bridge set against the night sky in a hot tub whaaaat? ∞/∞ stars would stay again any time.

    James2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy made us feel welcomed the second we arrived. She had water, candles, juices and other necessities to make us feel comfortable. Her husband C is great as well. You really feel away from everything being in the back yard and the mud hut... its perfect. I can't really say enough good things. About a 20 dollar uber drive into portland. The area is really nice and peaceful. It was a great stay!

    Jason2015-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The entire experience was perfection. The hut really pulled away the distractions that traditional hotels book as perks. Initially we didn't think we would be spending much time at the Mud Hut but it is so hard not to linger when you feel so safe and cozy. The view was spectacular as promised. If you are in Portland and want a unique experience even by Air bnb standards than this is it!

    Dan2015-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and magical place! I couldn't believe my eyes when I walked onto Ivys property, it was even more beautiful than the photos! I instantly felt at home and calm. What a great surprise for my friend visiting from out of state! She was thankful to have such a special place to rest her head after hours of travel. I wish I could have stayed longer but I'll be back soon! Thank you so much!

    Gabriella2014-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy and C are so welcoming we felt right at home. They made our very first Airbnb experience one of a kind! Much of the time we had space to ourselves, but when we did get to see them conversation was easy going and all of their suggestions for exploring the city really made our trip.

    AnaMarie2015-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this place. The hut was very comfortable and charming! The garden was lovely. There is a great view, nice hot tub and anything you might need in the outdoor kitchen. We liked that we could also get anywhere (banks, all kinds of stores and restaurants) within 10 minutes away. Thank you Ivy!

    Andrea2016-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Mud Hut is an interesting way to spend the night. It is accurately described--one needs to be prepared for a rustic setting. It takes a little more effort and patience on the part of the guest, but the stay is quite memorable and a good experience. A nice little neighborhood is a short drive or walk with some good restaurants.

    Stewart2014-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This mudhut was the perfect little reset on a trip that involved a lot of busy downtown portland activity. It was quiet and peaceful. The hot tub was delightful and the hut itself truly is magical. We arrived to an already lit wood stove and immediately felt so welcome! The mudhut is so cozy, and charming, even more so then the pictures show! Our sleep was deep and we've been bragging on it ever since. This is an adventure worth taking, and is the perfect reset for anyone looking to have some quiet retreat.

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • Great place with good access to restaurants, bars and shopping right around the corner. Very clean and cute as well. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks guys!

    Tyler2014-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the Tiny House in PDX! We loved staying in a great neighbourhood with a real community feel, rather than downtown. It was a cozy, quiet, peaceful place to come home to after long days/evenings out on the town. Jenny and Michael have done an excellent job at setting up a lovely and well-stocked little home. The small outdoor space in front is comfortable and pretty, too. The maps and info about Portland were very helpful. It is definitely 'tiny' - my partner and I are only 5'3" and 5'7" so this didn't bother us, but I can imagine that taller people might have more trouble with the narrow stairs, the angle of the ceiling, and the tight bathroom quarters. If you're ok with this, you will love this place!

    Jess2014-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time, conveniently located to loads of awesome places to eat and super easy to cycle into town. Love Portland too. Cracking city.

    Anna2015-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in this beautiful and thoughtfully crafted tiny home! The space itself was cozy and clean and had everything we needed for a few days in Portland. Having access to two bikes also brought a whole new level to our Portlandia adventure. Thanks again for connecting us with the friendly folks at the cafe to leave our luggage, it gave us the freedom to explore for an extra day! Thank you!

    Jessica2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Michael & Jenna were terrific hosts. They were super responsive and provided great info on the area and the listing. The listing was adorable. Very clean and well appointed. They have a definite gift for interior design and creativity. My trip was abbreviated on account of business... so I only got to stay overnight. Didn't even get to see it during the day light as I had a very early morning flight. Charming and delightful.. an excellent stay!

    Claire2015-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our first airbnb experience and we loved the rustic modern tiny house! It looks EXACTLY like the pictures...impeccable design and thought has gone into this place. Every little detail is gorgeous. I had a few questions for Michael and he was always super fast in responding to my texts, which we appreciated. We slept well in the comfy lofted bed area with the softest sheets in the world. The bikes are hilarious and fun to tool around in. We had many people compliment us on the cruisers (so retro even the Alberta hipsters were kind of in awe), and it was so fun and easy to go up to Mississippi and Alberta to check out all the new places (Barista, Salt and Straw, Back to Eden were some of our favs!). Mike and Jenny have a great guide of places to check out if you aren't familiar with Portland as well! Only thing is the major construction happening around the corner (looks like a new house is being built from the ground up), which obviously is beyond the control of anyone...I guess more the price of staying in an evolving neighborhood. Every morning but Sunday be prepared for heavy machinery, trucks beeping, and a few window shaking thuds from 7am on. You'll want to get up and explore anyway, but just FYI...

    Jennefer2014-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Jenny were great hosts. I surprised my girlfriend with a trip to the Tiny House and we had a most excellent time. The space is super charming and a great place to stay while in PDX. It was really great to see how much care they put into this house and make sure you really enjoy your time there. Michael and Jenny are very personable and check in to see how your stay is going to make sure you make the most of your trip.

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.
  • The tiny house was very comfortable and well located. I was able to walk to a nice grocery store and the Alberta Arts District where there were plenty of eateries and shops. Both were about a half mile out. I was allotted a lot of privacy and met the hosts once. They were nice people and very accommodating when I asked for an early check in. My toddler's nap time was earlier than the check in time. They also were very responsive when I experienced some connectivity issues with the wifi.

    Kim2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is a welcoming and cozy base for exploring Portland. The size of the space was perfect for my girlfriend and I and it had everything we needed to cook, relax, and sleep. Check-in was easy and the back entrance was a plus. Everything was very clean and the house felt very private even though it's located in the backyard of the main house. The kitchen and bathroom had everything you'd need and the bed was super comfortable! The house is located in a great Portland neighborhood and is within walking distance to great coffee, dining, markets, and transportation. Duston and Genevieve seem like great people and are easy to get a hold of if you need anything. We'll certainly recommend this tiny house to friends and family!

  • We loved our short stay in Portland and this tiny house was perfect for what we needed! We also LOVED the neighborhood it's located in.

    Felicia2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This adorable tiny home may be small in size but it is big on style and functionality. It is in a great location with food and fun all within walking distance. The home has all that you may need for your stay and is so comfy. Duston and Genevieve are great hosts with excellent communication. The day we were supposed to arrive we got a message from them saying it was a bit warmer in Portland than it normally is and that they will put a fan in the home for us. Very thoughtful. Thank you again for a great stay! We will be back.

  • Roland was VERY accommodating. I arrived early in the morning and needed to get ready for a meeting. He let me use his study and downstairs bathroom to allow me to get ready, yet not bother the people that hadn't checked out yet. Much appreciated. I was away most of the time, so was never able to meet up with him. However he is very responsive to text/email and seems eager to please! The place is an attic converted to a loft (up a narrow spiral staircase). Plenty of room, clearly cared for. Bed was comfy. As others noted, the skylights let in morning light, but I was fine with that. Only upgrade I'd recommend is a screen partition or the like at the top of the stairs (since there is no door). Not a big deal as it still was very private, but a nice to have. Thanks, recommendedd!

    Tom2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Roland and the other folks who live on the property are all very friendly and helpful. They showed me the pool in the back and where the kitchen was if I wanted to cook. And I was assisted with my suitcase. The loft is very comfortable with lots of skylights, a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, sitting area, table chairs, refrigerator, microwave, coffee grinder and a small coffee pot. Coffee pot took so long I heated a Pyrex measuring cup with water in the microwave to pour over the grounds. There is a private balcony which I enjoyed a lot the first night. This is a really good deal provided by a very nice fellow.

    Patricia2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Roland was amazingly helpful. He was there to check me in, he would message me helpful tips and was very understanding of my circumstances. Honestly it’s why I use Airbnb, hosts who really go above and beyond for you. I would definitely stay again.

    Josh2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Place is as expected, for the price it doesn't get much better

    Matt2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Must've been the cleanest place I've stayed at. The jacuzzi tub was perfect to wind down in after long walks around town. Roland was an excellent source of knowledge for local attractions and tidbits on getting around the city. Highly recommend staying here.

    Jacob2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down the best airbnb experience I've had. The room is spacious, clean and with a microwave, fridge, private bathroom (including a jacuzzi) it's practically a private apartment. The neighborhood has plenty of cafes, restaurants and is close to public transportation. As nice as the accommodations were, the best part of this airbnb is the host. Roland is a highly personable man who has led a long and interesting life. I count my conversations with him among the highlights of my visit to Portland.

    Eric2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The description is accurate, the location is great, and Roland is a great host and delightful to talk to. I don't think I could've asked for better this trip.

    James2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Roland's house. The day I arrived, Roland was kind enough to pick me up in his car to drive me to his house. He is friendly, organized, and always happy to help. The house is in a great area, close to top food spots in Portland. Easily accessible by public transport. The loft itself is perfectly sized, with many windows and feels light and airy. I would definitely stay again!

  • Awesome host, way better than a hotel! Thank you Paul, you made for a great first airbnb experience!

    Thomas2016-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a great host! Right off the bat, he made us feel welcome to portland by offering to pick us up from the train station. He has set up the funky pad to make it a very comfortable place to stay. He thought of every need one might have - from toiletries to drinks to cutlery and other basic food items. True to the listing description, the place is well insulated in terms of sound and in a good location in portland. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.

    Catherine2014-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Place was amazing for our short stay in Portland! Had a few guests in town as we're from Eugene and their first stay at both an Airbnb and Oregon was amazing and they loved it! Paul was also so nice although we did not interact with him much. The entire experience was so convenient!

    Vanessa2015-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Paul was lovely and low-stress! The space is beautiful and comfy and well-stocked and Paul was SUPER accommodating of us and our dog. The house is right across the street from a park with an off-leash area and close to good food and shopping. Thank you so much!!

    Jenn2015-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was promptly available for all our questions and needs. Of course, those were minimal because so much info was conveyed prior to our arrival. The Funky Pad is a brilliant use of space at a convenient location. Rather than spending all our time in downtown Portland, we were convenient to some of the quirky neighborhoods and wonderful restaurants on the east side.....definitely a bonus....and much closer to the airport. I would recommend staying in this great neighborhood.

    Margie2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • My first AirBnB experience, and Paul made it great. Great communication, comfortable and private suite.

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Natural cleaning products only.
Built with Love! Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. We are permitted by the city of Portland to host ten guests total at a time at the Magic Barn and The Magic House which are adjacent. If you are a group of more than two, please send us an inquiry to see if we can accommodate your group. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was just an empty crooked shed with no electricity, water or heat and it was filled with trash. Todji purchased the old neglected rental in 2004 when self-employed artists could get a loan. After fifteen years of restoring the main house, while building a career as a sculptor, Todji and Gisele decided to convert the sculpture studio into a "Magic Barn" to host travelers and guests such as yourself! During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from all around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele have taken on the profession of being Airbnb "Artist Inn Keepers" to help support the cultivation of their artistic practices, and to share their creative work with you. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day, please feel free to take a postcard home and visit their sculpture website.
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters- 45th and Division, Classic Great Portland Coffee Trinket- One block away on Lincoln and 39th, great for Brunch with their locally sourced eggs!) Harlow- 36th and Hawthorne, Hip and Healthy, great for lunch, or fresh veggie juice. Por Que No- 46th and Hawthorne, Wildly popular Mexican with a great playful decor. (Don’t be intimidated by the line, you order at the counter, and then get a seat and your order will be out in no time) Pok Pok- 32nd and Division, There are literally 11 Thai restaurants in walking distance, but Pok Pok is the best. Began as a food cart, but grew into a Restaurant Empire. Worth the wait. Bollywood Theater- 30th and Division, Indian food small plates. Also along line but worth it! Salt and Straw- 33rd and Division, Food Networks top five ice creams! Super Popular! Lauretta Jeans- 34th and Division, Breathtaking Pies! Tidbit Food Cart Pod, 28th and Division, Fabulous food cart selection, lots of seating, including a beer garden and vintage clothing bus. A truly Portland experience. Hiking: The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. For those who want a challenging half day hike you can begin at Multnomah Falls and hike a loop called the Franklin Ridge Loop. Multnomah Falls /Franklin Ridge Loop Eagle Creek Angels Rest Bridal Veil Falls Triple Falls Wahkeena Falls Groceries, Pharmacy and Shopping: New Seasons- Local Health Food Store (40th and Hawthorne) Fred Meyers- Local Department/Grocery store (Cesar Chavez and Hawthorne) Rite Aid Pharmacy- Drugstore/pharmacy (Cesar Chavez and Division) Powell’s Books- A smaller version of Portland’s famous Bookstore (37th and Hawthorne) Gold Door- Wonderful Imports from around the world (37th and Hawthorne) Enjoy!
  • The Magic Barn was exactly as described and located in a fun neighborhood. Parking wasn't an issue at all. I did not met the hosts in person but they were very responsive and helpful via text. I was very comfortable at the "barn" and I got a great night's sleep as well.

  • The place was amazing and I would recommend!

  • Nothing like waking up in a rustic yet clean and lovely cabin-esque setting while the Portland sun shines through. Only wish I had more time for a longer stay at this lovely domicile. Would recommend for couples, anymore and it's going to be quite intimate.

  • Great little cottage in wonderful location.

  • Girlfriend and I were driving home from bay area and needed place to crash with late notice. Easy check in easy check out + very comfortable and great location.

  • An extremely special place in the heart of Portland's east side. The location couldn't be better, with access to so many points of interest for visitors to Portland. The magic barn is perfectly appointed with everything you need, and was clearly made with careful consideration to all details. It's perfectly cozy, but also spacious, with charm, and positive energy in all directions. Besides it's prime local, and creature comforts inside, you also get the benefit of a lovely outdoor space which is removed from the street for an experience that cannot be paralleled by any nearby hotel. We weren't lucky enough to meet Todji, Gisele, or Tessa, but it's clear they take great care in the space, keep it spotless, and are vested in providing a great experience for guests. Very highly recommended!

    Maureen2016-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Magic Barn for 2 of our 3 nights during our first visit to Portland and our only regret is not staying all 3 nights there. The place was cozy and perfect, both romantic and relaxing. There are so many great small details, like the plants throughout the house and the artwork, that pictures just don’t do it justice. We loved the claw foot tub, too! The location is tremendous - we had not idea that SE Portland was going to be the place we wanted to spend all of our time, so we were lucky that this place was so perfectly situated. We will definitely look for this place on our next visit.

    Mike2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our quick stay at Sari’s place. Very quaint and beautiful neighborhood but still not too far of a walk to Division or Hawthorne. Would come back again and am planning on it!

    Ryan2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sari and Ed were wonderful hosts with a beautiful in-law apartment. They were available the entire trip , and even sent messages to make sure we were well accommodated. The apartment was fully stocked with what you needed for a trip. They had a complete detailed list of anything you could possibly need in a binder by the window. It was very clean and well organized. I would have to say the pictures don't do it justice; it is a gorgeous place. They made my stay in Portland very easy and calm. I would love to stay here again should I visit Portland.

    Vanessa2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little place for a couple toenjoy

    Nisha2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ed and Sari are wonderful hosts who went above and beyond to ensure we had a safe and comfortable stay without interruption. They provided us with additional amenities upon request and were very friendly and responsive. The place is situated in a beautiful neighbourhood, perfect for a walk and very close to great places to eat (check out Hotlips for pizza and Jam for an incredible brunch selection), supermarkets and vintage stores. It was a very short Uber trip to downtown and we even walked it in 50 mins one day. We felt right at home and will definitely come back again. We even left behind some valuable items and the hosts have been extremely helpful in getting it back to us - all the way to Australia. This place is a gem of a find so don't hesitate and get bookin' before it gets booked!

    Wojciech2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location- full kitchen that we ended up not using because of all the amazing food in Portland

    Rebecca2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Ed and Sari's place! The directions to the retreat were extremely detailed and made our check in effortless. The retreat is just as described and we were very impressed by how well utilized every square inch of the space is. The location is awesome and if we make it back to Portland in the future we would love to return.

Our studio guest house comfortably sleeps two and features a mini kitchen and private bath. Walk through the garden to your private entrance. Curl up by the fire and enjoy one of the art books from our library. Walk to nearby Alberta Arts District.
With two small children at home, we have found little time to paint in the second floor of the studio building at the rear of our property. Come and enjoy this lovely space! It features high ceilings, ample light, a wood stove (with back-up electric heat), views of the surrounding gardens, a large table and a drafting table to spread out and work on, and an art book library. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and electric kettle. It does not have a cook top or oven or toaster. We provide coffee and tea. The bathroom features a shower stall and an eco-toilet that collects water from hand washing to use on the next flush. With summer temperatures rising, we recently added an AC window unit for our guests comfort. We offer a full bed with a seven inch Ikea spring mattress and a two inch memory-foam topper. Our guests report that the room is surprisingly quiet at night. Please note we do not have a TV; however, our wifi is fast enough to watch movies or shows on your personal device.
I love this place. This is a residential neighborhood with a wide cross section of racial and economic diversity, a lot of the old 'hood funkiness still intact, plus newer hipster creativity and some higher-end business activity. Expect to see a mix of dilapidated buildings and newer or rejuvenated construction. We feel safe at night, however I do advise women to be wary about walking alone at night, particularly if you don't have much street smarts. We are within easy walking distance of Alberta Street Co-op, coffee shops, restaurants, bars and other businesses. The post office, laundromat, Safeway and Walgreens are very close by as well.
  • Nell's studio was perfect for our weekend in Portland! The space was clean and charming, the bed was SO comfortable, the location was just a few blocks from quirky Alberta Street and her arrival instructions were a piece of cake. She even offered to hold onto our bags for us after we checked out. Would absolutely stay again!!

    Abby2015-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a stunning studio space that worked perfectly for our short stay in Portland. Nell is a great host, highly recommended

    James2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was super cozy and beautifully decorated, on a cute little residential street close to the Alberta Arts district. They provided really delicious coffee and half and half in the fridge and that was amazing! Nell's family and dogs were lovely and welcoming. Communication was easy and the space was perfect. Thank you!

    Rika2015-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nell's spot in Portland was spot on. Really great place to spend the night. Convenient access. Could see myself staying longer to enjoy this cozy artists space. The Alberta St. Neighbourhood is great with lot's of good food.

    Bryce2016-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nell’s place is a very cozy space that will exceed your expectations. It is in a good location in Portland and provided many tips on what to do while there. The little touches are what made this place really great to stay at. I will definitely look to stay here again.

    Ben2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved the cozy, modern aesthetic and the attention to detail in the space. We fell asleep watching clouds pass in the skylights above while flames flickered in the wood stove. We would definitely seek out Nell's place if in Portland for another visit!

    Christie2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such a quaint little place to relax in Portland. There was plenty of street parking available, so that made coming/going very easy. The space was so relaxing, and having the radio tuned to some blues made my night. The kitchen has everything you need to make tea or coffee in the morning. The Alberta Arts district had some great dinning and shopping options.

    Amy2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Nell's cozy space was lovely, light-filled, and comfortable; we wish we could have spent longer enjoying it (including the great library of art books and Nell's own paintings) and the surrounding neighborhood. Nell and Jeremy were working in the yard when we arrived--both were warmly welcoming and helpful with the few questions we had. This was a great place to be in Portland, and I hope we can make it back there on another trip.

NEW MURPHY BED with comfy mattress! Great little tiny house in a fantastic neighborhood. It is cozy and modern, with a great layout. It's a tiny, stand alone house with a private bathroom. Short Term Rental Permit Numb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) -HO
Brand new, tiny-home style house. 200 sq ft. Covered porch. Full bath with standing tile shower. Full-size wall bed "Murphy bed" installed December 2015. Bamboo floors & reclaimed wood stairs. No kitchen, but has a microwave for heating up leftovers, water, or popcorn. Wifi. This is one block off Mississippi Ave, with many bars, restaurants, and one of the best coffee shops (Fresh Pot) in Portland. A block away from Amnesia Brewing and Grand Central bakery. 10 minute walk from the Yellow Line MAX (Overlook station.) Mississippi Studios is right down the street- a fantastic venue for local and traveling bands.
  • I would definitely stay here again! The space was bright and cheery with the lovely garden and front porch (so much better than a hotel!). The location was an awesome surprise, I had no idea there were so many great options a couple blocks away on Mississippi. I want to come back just to hang out in the neighborhood! The grout on the shower floor definitely needs fixed and the drain was a little slow, as well as quite a few other little details about the construction of the place that make me wonder how it will hold up over the years. But really nothing significant enough to take away from the pleasantry of staying there. The bed upstairs was very comfy and I love being able to sleep with the windows open for fresh air. Will definitely go back!

    Sarah2015-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a blast in the little green house! This is a charming little treasure in an equally charming and vibrant neighborhood. We enjoyed watching people go by and stop in their tracks to admire the unique architecture, we savored the view of the blooming trees from the loft bedroom (with it's extremely comfortable bed), and generally had a wonderful time there. Notes for other potential guests: In addition to the ladder/steps being steep, watch your head at the top! As someone who makes frequent trips to the lav at night, it's easy to forget and konk your noggin! If you wanna use the polka-dot couch sleeper, you might want to bring extra bedding to supplement the blanket or two you find stored under the ladder steps. Host communication was seamless (all via email) and the price was reasonable for such an adorable, eclectic abode in the heart of the lively Mississippi neighborhood vibe. Will stay again!!! (Gotta try the pink one too!)

  • I absolutely loved my stay at Little Green House off Mississippi. The description was spot on and Rick was very helpful in sending me all the information I needed ahead of time. The location is perfect. It's literally one block off of Mississippi and right next to Stormbreaker Brewing. I would absolutely stay here again.

    Terry2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Place was super cute and clean. Just the right size for two travelers. Location can't be beat. Bed was surprisingly comfy. Would definitely stay again!

  • Quick trip down to Portland for a girl's weekend. Rented the Little Green House from Rick. It was a GREAT place to stay. Rick was immediately available the one time I had a question. The house was completely charming and in the absolute BEST location! I highly recommend.

    MADISON2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house. Exactly what we needed

    Ryan2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip to Portland was quite the adventure! We brought our bikes but were unable to use them as there was a snow and ice storm during our stay there, which is incredibly irregular for Portland apparently. Regardless, it was great to have a safe, clean, private home to come back to after our days out in the cold weather. There were two heaters-one on the main level and one in the loft-which worked very well. The entire house was beautiful and felt very clean. The shower was great and had beautiful stones as the floor. We had a hard time with the automatic door when we arrived but were able to resolve this problem with a quick call to Rick. It seems as though other Air BnBer's have had this problem as well so perhaps there's a way to change the door locking mechanism? Still, we appreciated not having to carry around keys with us and risk losing them. As well, the loft stairs are just as Rick explains-STEEP! Going from the loft to the bathroom in the middle of the night was a bit risky. It would have been great to have a local phone line for calling businesses since we were from out of town and weren't using our phones. All in all-it was a great experience to stay in the little green house. The location is ideal and it was really cool to experience "small living". Thanks Rick!

My house is close to light rail and bus lines in a quiet and secure area. Many restaurants, coffee houses and bars are within walking distance and there is a large grocery store nearby in case you need provisions. There are parks within walking distance as is the Adidas campus. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers. There is another bedroom that can sleep two and I have an air mattress available.
Private home with 2 bedrooms in the upstairs of the house. Fully equipped kitchen with a laundry room. The stove is gas so please ask for instructions on how it works before using. The back yard is shady and there is a patio with a fireplace. The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to walk around in.
There are quite a few very good restaurants with in walking distance of the house with a sprinkling of coffee houses and bars. Well lit and quiet there are also a couple of parks with in a few blocks. Also a great grocery store is near by.

    Alex2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • My room was clean and comfortable, and the hose was located a few minutes from the light rail line. Sheilah was very nice and easy to coordinate with. It was perfect for me.

    Ian2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sheilah's home is stunning, comfortable and close to downtown. About a 20 minute walk to the heart of downtown, close restaurants and bars but also a very quiet neighborhood. The house was very clean and she supplies everything I would need (shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer etc) and these are things I don't like to travel with. Sheilah was very respectable and polite during my stay. Would recommend to anyone on business or a personal trip. Thank you Sheilah!

Brand spanking new, beautiful, modern addition built on our ranch house.
Our 425 square foot addition is brand new (finished 2015) - immaculately designed, gorgeous and a perfect place to stay during your time in Portland. It has a pellet stove for delightful ambiance (and heating), it's own entrance, a blow-up air mattress (for a third guest) and a patio. Stay in a place completely Portland, powered by solar panels, built environmentally friendly, sitting on a major bike street and a couple blocks from the MAX light rail.
Our house is within 2 miles of the fantastic north and north east neighborhoods of Williams, Mississippi and Alberta. There are dozens of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and I leave a list of our local favorites in the house.

  • Studio is cute and open, but still feels cozy. The apartment warms up quick if you come in from the cold. NE Alberta Street is within walking distance which has plenty of places to eat and drink. Melissa was helpful and gave tips on places to eat and there was even a restaurant guide with menus put together on the counter of the studio.

  • My mom and I needed a one night stay after driving from California. Melissa’s basement Airbnb was not only stylish but well located in an amazing neighborhood for food and local stores! Melissa was more than helpful when we arrived and left! Only caution is it was a bit noisy from the bottom floor and the stairs but other than that we were very comfortable, the neighborhood is safe and quiet. We’d definitely like to come back :)

  • Great location. Close to airport and downtown, if you're looking for best bang for buck this place was great.

    John2018-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was so cozy and clean! Melissa was great at welcoming me and providing with excellent tips on things to do while I was there. She provided me with privacy, which I am big on. I enjoyed my time there and have nothing but positive views and smiles!

    Katherine2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's place is as pictured, cozy, cute and warm for those cold nights. Melissa was a very thoughtful host who had lovely touches with coffee, teas, eggs, creamer and snack bars available. She has thought of everything, hair dryer, towels and even bodywash. Location was perfect. Everything was great, but as noted, the toilet does not work properly either does not flush or over flows, so that was the only flaw. I would definitely stay again otherwise :)

Our home is beautifully situated across from a quiet park. We are located just a couple blocks walk to restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bus stops on trendy Hawthorne and Division streets.
Our one bedroom, 500 square-foot basement apartment is lovingly decorated in the Northwest Style with touches of Scandinavia. The apartment has separate entrance for your privacy. The bedroom has a queen bed with cozy, fluffy featherbed comforters. The living room has a sofa that converts to double bed with bedding provided. We also have a queen futon available for parties over 4 people. It’s a bit tight for 6 people, but it is possible! We have a little kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower combo with all the essentials provided. We have a television that picks up a few stations, but we do not have cable. Our location is ideal for foodies who want to walk to popular restaurants on SE Hawthorne and SE Division streets. We are directly across the street from a park. The Hawthorne bus (#14) is just 1.5 blocks away and will get you downtown within 10 minutes. We also are walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters, shops, breweries and pubs. Our neighborhood is quiet at night, so we ask that there be no noise after 10:00pm. We are an early-to-bed, early-to-rise family (up at 5:00am) so you may hear us above in the morning.
We are ideally situated between the popular Hawthorne and Division streets. We are 2.5 blocks from the nearest bus stop and are walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters. Best of all we are located right across the street from a park. There is ample parking as well.
  • Such a nice place! Very clean! Loved the shower! Close enough to walk to the Main Street for food and shops

  • We had a nice stay at Jennifer's. The apartment is comfy and the bathroom is clean and nice. It is situated right in between Hawthorne and Division, two pretty lively and cool streets, but the neighbourhood is still very quiet at night !

  • While our stay in Portland was short, this studio apartment was perfect. The location is great and the building itself is quite charming. It was very clean and had everything we needed (including a washer and dryer). The bed was comfortable and even though we were near some major streets we had no trouble with street noise - we even slept with the windows open. We had a great stay and would definitely stay there again. Thanks Bradley!

    Lucy2012-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was great and very accommodating! The place was centrally located and clean and sweet! Highly recommended!

    nora 2014-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great for the price! It was definitely one of the more affordable options in this location. It was very convenient to some cute/interesting neighborhoods. Bathroom was clean and modern (not something you get all the time in these older buildings). As some other reviewers have noted, there is a good amount of noise from the other people in the building. The street noise wasn't an issue at all, but the walls are very thin and the person above us was awake and walking around pretty much all night. Brad was very easy to get into contact with and made check-in/check-out easy.

    Talitha2014-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Loved everything about our stay in Portland! The studio offered everything we were looking for! Cute, Convenient, Clean! We were happy to walk to many local restaurants, bars, and shops. Since we were in town for a convention, the close proximity to public transportation was also a plus! Already looking for an excuse to go back! Cheers!

  • Lovely apartment, nice location, quick and easy check-in/out.

    Nicola2015-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing studio: beautiful sunlight coming in and comfortable bathroom and kitchen. Parking worked out perfectly. Moreover, an easy walk to many amazing restaurants and shops. What we liked less is that we couldn't mention Airbnb to neighbours, it made us feel a bit awkward entering and leaving with all our suitcases. Apart from that: great Airbnb, we would stay here again!

    Marjolijn2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for exploring downtown Portland! Comfortable, close to everything, and the décor was so cute (not a deal maker or breaker but definitely appreciated)! We never met Brad face to face but he responded to any questions we had almost immediately. Check in and check out were easy per his instructions and we would definitely stay here again next time. Very lovely space!

    Wendy2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and great apartment with some lovely decoration. Building has an older feel but is still very clean. We had everything we needed and Brad's directions were very easy to follow. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend Brad's place to anyone who wants to stay in the heart of Portland.

Enjoy Portland in our beautiful, modern guest house. You will be located in a quiet neighborhood nestled between the heart of downtown St Johns and the University of Portland.

During your stay you will have access to a fully stocked kitchen including: coffee and 3 ways to brew it, microwave, range, refrigerator, toaster, dishware, pots & pans, and baking goods. The space is loaded with windows which lets in a lot of natural light. The lofted area has a queen size bed, large closet, desk area and full bathroom. The space is ideal for 2 people, but it could certainly work for 3. There's a twin blow-up mattress or the couch for the third person. The house is filled with reclaimed wood, handcrafted light fixtures and artistic touches - make sure to check out all of the pictures!
We are located in the University Park neighborhood of Portland - about 1 mile away of the downtown St Johns neighborhood and 1 mile away from the the University of Portland The University Park neighborhood is within walking distance, or a short drive, to parks - including Cathedral Park - bars, food carts, coffee shops, restaurants, a fitness center (Westcoast Fitness) a farmers market (only runs during the summer months), antique/thrift stores, and various other shops. Please note: Our house is not located within walking distance of downtown Portland!
  • Such a great experience!

    Katie2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay with Heidi and Marenda. The apartment is just as cute as it is in the pictures, and St Johns is wonderful. What a great place o rest before, and after, the Portland marathon!

  • Such a great stay (our anniversary) for our first time in Portland! Great hosts for a great Airbnb! They were super responsive when needed and respectful for our privacy. But were willing to help whenever we needed. Simple and easy check in and check out. Even willing to accommodate an hour earlier check in. The place was so homey and clean. My girlfriend said it felt like a "home away from home." This was our first time in Portland and wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Close enough to everything and just far enough to be away from it as well. It was best to rent a car for our situation and to visit all the specific destinations, but transit and ride shares are not too far away. We'll be back! Thanks Heidi and Marenda! Best Airbnb experience!

    Jonathan2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, clean, comfortable and quiet stay with all the amenities. Full washer and dryer, refrigerator, stove , Several coffee maker; whether you want it French press, percolator or drip. Bed is comfortable for two the pillows extra soft The shower is beautiful. Place has a private entrance with shared backyard area with lots of trees and plants. I like the Christmas lights along the garage for Path lighting, very clever

    Samantha2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Heidi's and Marenda's loft was wonderful! The place is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures (if not more so) and is nestled cozily in an equally beautiful back yard. Our hosts were also amazing— they went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed and were always available if we had any questions. My wife and I are already considering coming back here next for our anniversary.

    Cornelius2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late on a Thursday evening. The loft was cozy, clean and super cool! The hosts were kind enough to have yogurt, granola, oatmeal, eggs and plenty of coffee for us, which was super nice since we had no time to shop. The loft is located in the cool backyard and their two dogs visited us in the mornings! This place has a well stocked kitchen if you want to throw down a good meal, although we were on such a tight schedule, we didn't get to take advantage. The neighborhood is great and I was able to get out for a nice, safe long run! We didn't get to meet the hosts, but we sure appreciated a nice place to stay and we got a lot of great ideas for upgrades to our home in Bozeman! Thank you Heidi and Marenda! We hope to be back again!

    Connie2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful small house, well-furnished and extremely comfortable. Lovely backyard garden to sit in and 2 very friendly dogs. All-in-all, I would highly recommend this place.

    Karen2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • They made us feel welcome by responding to my email/text questions. The directions were easy to follow. The flowers in the kitchen and the plants around the place made for a beautiful touch. The loft was exactly as described on Airbnb. The neighborhood was nice and quiet, and it felt safe.

Our small (8X12) free-standing studio is light-filled, private and tucked away under the trees. With a comfortable queen-sized bed, microwave, mini-fridge electric kettle and table, you will be cozy here! Please note: The Tiny House does not have its own bathroom. Guests use a shared bathroom just inside the back door of our house (our family has a primary bathroom upstairs, but we use the downstairs bath occasionally. We keep it clean and use it minimally when guests are in the tiny house).
Our tiny house is a delightful retreat. While you do share a bathroom in the house, this outdoor studio will offer you great privacy. The tiny house is set up for you to be able to sleep and make coffee/tea and microwavable meals. There is a mini-fridge for your perishable foods, and microwave and electric kettle. There is a table which you can use for dining and also as your desk. Enjoy sipping a cup of locally roasted coffee (beans provided!) while you enjoy the peaceful trees in our 2/3 acre yard. Our backyard also has a large "pump track" that Joel made, as an enthusiastic mountain biker. Feel free to bring your mountain bikes and ride it! The tiny house is very small so we do not store many things in there, but we do have additional amenities available, including: extra pillows and blankets, extra fans and space heaters, hair dryer, curling iron, clothing iron, yoga mat, extra towels, kitchen utensils, tupperware and more. If there is something you need, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate! Please Note: There is no kitchen or plumbing in the tiny house-it is small studio. It works best for guests who plan to eat out or prepare very simple foods with the microwave and mini fridge. We are happy to provide extra plates, silverware, etc. and if you need to wash a dish or two, just let us know and you can pop into our kitchen.
We live in Portland's Lents neighborhood, which is ethnically diverse and not yet gentrified. We are close to some lovely local nature preserves, including Leach Botanical Gardens and Powell Butte. We are also close to freeways, airport, parks and public transit. Please note: We are about 10 miles from downtown Portland and about 3-5 miles from the "hip" neighborhoods in SE Portland that have a lot of walkable attractions. If you have a car it is pretty easy to get around from here, but this is not the ideal neighborhood if you are hoping to walk to Portland's best spots without driving or taking the bus. You can walk to Safeway, Walgreens, and the closest bus stop very easily from here.
  • The hosts, the "tiny house" and the neighborhood were all fantastic! The location was just in the right spot to navigate anywhere easily. The hosts were very accommodating to me and my two year old. Our room was stocked with all sorts of goodies and necessities one might need or have forgotten. The bed cozy and the coffee was great! A perfect oasis in the city.

  • Very nice little "Sim" house. Very cute and lots of nice lighting. Can be hot with windows closed but we made do. Felt very comfortable and welcome.

  • Listing is as described. Is very cosy, warm and tidy. Kate and Joel are very friendly and welcoming.

  • Great tiny house, very clean and organized. The location is a little further than expected from downtown Portland, but still not too far. Very comfortable bed!

    Jamie2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and spot for a single person or couple on the go to stay. The hosts were very accommodating and the place is as cute as advertised. Would stay again!

    Kim2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • All I can say is 12/10, would do again. I love the tiny house. The room, bed, and every one of the accommodations were exactly what we needed after a long day on the road. The bed is SO comfortable I have to add again. This is a must if you are in Portland. Please do yourself a favor and stay here !!!!!

    Karla2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy space in Portland! Kate and Joel are accommodating and available for anything you might need. Recommended!

NEW MURPHY BED w/ comfy mattress. Great little tiny house in a fantastic neighborhood. It is cozy and modern. It's a tiny, stand alone house with a private bathroom, but no real kitchen.
  • Shannon and Brian were great hosts, the house was gigantic so it didn't feel like we were intruding - they had great advice for us to go out just 10 minutes away and the morning coffee was the best we had all week while on our road trip. The bed was super super comfortable and everything was impeccable. Would definitely stay with them again!!

    Magali2013-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Pink House is adorable. Rick was very detailed about what we needed to know to get into the house without any hassle. Being that close to all the action on Mississippi was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable and the heat warmed the place up quickly.

    Mackenzie2015-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great little house that can be compared with a motel. I expected a tiny house, as in a functional and well designed layout in a small space. I should have read the description because it does say "little" not "tiny", so it didn't meet my expectations. The whole check-in/out worked flawlessly, and the space is neat and clean. Lots of great places just around the corner @ Mississippi Ave.

    Henrik2016-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a great experience to stay in the Little Pink House! Everything was so easy and efficient, and the house itself is adorable! To more fully experience Portland, we decided to stay in two different parts of the city, and Boise-Eliot, the neighborhood of the Little Pink House, is very exciting. Lots of bungalows and interesting architecture all around, plus great restaurants on Mississippi and up on Alberta. Also, for those on bikes, it's a very easy ride into downtown Portland. The place itself is small, but so well designed and engineered that it still worked, even for two of us (a couple). We had no problems with the ladder, but it's definitely something that people should be prepared for (and Rick does a great job of explaining it on the listing). We never met Rick in person, but it was very easy to get in and out, using a number combination on the door lock. Highly recommend the house and Rick!

    Stephanie2014-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • This architectural duo really has a striking presence on this beautifully landscaped corner location. You cannot beat this location! I had a wonderful yoga and bakery right down the street and my fiancé could easily walk to his course at the United Bicycle Institute. Excellent communication with Rick throughout. Thanks very much!

    Paula2015-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The little pink house is great-- cozy bed! We frequent Portland for weekend trips to experience the food culture & relax. Excellent location near fantastic bars and restaurants (we tried Radar and Tasty & Sons --- nom nom nom). Highly recommend to friends.

  • Chuck and Annika's apartment in Portland is an ideal place to stay. The space is great with everything you need...spotlessly clean, looks brand new with great shower and comfy bed. The area is a highlight...you're minutes from more great restaurants, cafes, bars and shops than you could ever visit! Very nice arty, independent feel to the area. TriMet bus 4 is minutes walk from apartment taking you straight to downtown in about 15/20 mins. Ideal place to stay...highly recommended!

  • This place is great! Chuck and Annika provided timely communication with clear directions and instructions for our stay. The apartment is exactly as pictured/described. This first airbnb experience was extremely positive and beyond my expectations. The apartment is in a great neighborhood with tons to do in walking distance. Between the awesome apartment, welcoming hosts, and great location, this experience will be tough to top!

    Collin2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
We love it...

    John2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck and Annika were great hosts! We were greeted with cookies, and were pleasantly surprised to find helpful guide books and descriptions of the neighborhood. Everything was exactly as described. They were communicative before and during our stay. The neighborhood is awesome, Pok Pok and Off the Waffle were our favorites. We loved our visit to Portland, and the apartment played no small part.

  • The apartment was very clean and in a great location. We had a wonderful stay and appreciated the maps and guidebook that were available in the room. Highly recommend!

    Lindsay2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The living space is great and the location, while not downtown, is also very good. Definitely recommend hitting Pok Pok and its sister bar when in town.

    Jack2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This SE Division neighborhood is a lot of fun! We were thrilled to be so close to neat shops and delicious food. Parking was always tight, but we always seemed to find a spot within a block. This apartment was well appointed and comfortable. The furniture was comfortable and stayed cool even on hot days. Chuck and Annika had excellent communication and always responded to questions quickly. They have a great selection of books featuring various aspects of the city and the surrounding area. The kitchenette did not offer oven or cooktop, but we were too busy trying out the food that Portland has to offer to need it anyway.

  • Chuck and Annika's place is just as described, a nice small place in a great neighborhood. They were very quick with communication, very helpful and all around wonderful.

  • Colin & Medina's Garden Oasis was the perfect base to explore Portland from. It's in a beautiful neighborhood you can have a fun time walking and exploring. The Alberta Arts District as well as the bus to downtown are only five or ten minutes away. The garden oasis is small but very roomy. The bed is super comfortable, there is an iPod deck to get your morning started to music while the sun gently shines through the windows, there's a big tv if you are into that sorta stuff, everything is clean, and the foliage in front and around the house makes you feel like you are in a super secluded bungalow even though you are in someones backyard. Very nice vibe going plus Colin+Medina are sweet and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to all my friends.

  • I found the location very convenient for the conference I attended at the Oregon Convention Center. The french press was a critical asset for my mornings! I enjoyed the neighborhood and the opportunity to get away from the hotel district. It was fun living like a local at Colin and Medina's place. Check-in was easy and my stay was very restful which was quite necessary after a long day with Pythonistas! ;-) The whole foods was very convenient for breakfast on the run. It's only two blocks away and right on the bus line.

  • This was my first time staying at an Air Bnb, and will definitely be using for my next vacation. Our stay at the garden oasis was great! It was perfect for two people for a weekend vacation. Colin and Medina were very friendly and accommodating. The guest house was cozy, clean and had Netflix which is a plus. Would definitely stay here again for another visit to Portland.

  • This is a great place to stay in a wonderful city! The room was as promised: clean, stocked with useful accessories (silverware, stove-top, cleaning supplies, paper towels, shampoo/body wash) and hosts were very hospitable. The room was small (as advertised) and the sofa couch was a bit uncomfortable, but otherwise a really great and cozy place. I would highly recommend.

  • This is a great place to stay. The location is close to all of the great attractions; we rode our bikes all around and never had an issue. This space is small but gorgeous and well equipped. I say it is small not as a bad thing, we loved the space and the size of the space, but rather so that those who stay here in the future are not surprised. Collin seems to have thought of everything, even providing coffee and French Press. Those who have never travelled in Europe might be surprised at the size of the shower. But, for those who have travelled in Europe, be prepared for a true European shower experience. Collin was great with communication and an excellent host. We totally recommend staying here!

  • this is a great place to stay if you're looking for private accommodations in Portland! It's in the wonderful NE part of Portland with public transportation close by - or if you're driving into the city, it's just a short trip across the bridge. The Garden Oasis Guesthouse was very clean and comfortable for my 3 night stay. Comfortable bed, with a TV and a small kitchen area with utensils, microwave, small/portable electric stove etc. and a private bathroom as well. Oh and the garden outside is very lovely. Great place to stay after long days wandering around in Portland!

  • I rented this space for my mother to stay in when our family gathered in Portland for my sister's wedding. Here is her review: "This little cabin was perfect for my summer visit to Portland. Sooooo much better than a motel! Enveloped by luxuriant foliage, quiet and private within a courtyard, it was a perfect place to retreat to after visiting friends and family. The owners were available but never intrusive. Perfectly located for walks to organic shopping, library and coffee shops, and yet quiet. I will very likely return next year!"

Victoria is exactly as described by many - she exudes warmth and really makes one feel at home and comfortable. The king sized bed is really so wonderful and so is the scenery around the house. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay here and wish i could have extended it. The breakfast served is marvelous and the neighborhood is safe, serene and provides a peaceful tranquility away from the hustle and bustle.
