Just booked in Detroit

Just booked in Detroit
Walk to Belle Isle, 6 min drive to downtown! A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations. I've been a contributing author to Wildsam Field Guides, an eclectic guidebook publisher, and have great recommendations for most cravings in this unique city.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots: https://www.airbnb.com/users/6405993/listings This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • What a wonderful apartment! The place is fantastic indeed. It has everything that you might need during your stay. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. Thane is as incredible as his apartment. He sent us this list of recommendations of restaurants and places to visit so we could plan our visit. The communication with him was all the time fantastic. He gave me very clear instructions on how to get the keys and responded immediately when I tried to contact him after we checked in. Overall, it was a wonderful visit. Thank you very much, Thane!

  • This was my first personal Airbnb experience and I'm glad I found Thane' place!! I loved everything about Thane and his place! This was a last minute trip and last minute booking but Thane worked with me! In addition, I was unable to make the check-in time posted due to my late flight and Thane did everything in his power to accommodate me! Once I checked in, I immediately felt at home! The place was clean, cozy, and was exactly what Thane said it is on the website! The refrigerator and bathroom was filled with the essentials! Although I'm vegan and couldn't drink regular milk, I was surprised to see fresh milk in the refrigerator (my Driver was grateful for it). Thanks to the Vegan restaurant near the listing I was a happy camper!! I was delighted to have Tea leaves to make tea in the morning!! I live for morning cups of tea and I hate tea dust in tea bags. Good look on the tea leaves Thane! Thane mentioned that his neighbors could be a bit loud because the walls are thin but I didn't have any noise problems!! The morning sun is beautiful through the glass windows! Overall great experience, great place, great host! I will definitely use Thane's place again!

  • Great loft! I felt like I was staying at a friend's house - and I mean that in the best way. I feel like I have to warn that like most lofts, the walls are paper thin. Also, it's on the third floor with no elevator. I really appreciate the little things in the kitchen that made my stay great, like having sugar and oatmeal in the cupboards to use. I would have used the bike if the weather had been warmer and I had more time... maybe next trip! Awesome place!

    Virginia2018-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • (THIS IS LONG! You've been warned) This was my first experience with AirBnb so I was curious to try it out. I'm so glad I did! First of all, hats off to Thad and his mother. They let me have an early arrival. I was so thankful for their flexibility. That shows you they are good people. Thad and his mother Karen were very understanding after I arrived late on a red eye due to a delayed flight. I felt bad, but they assured me "it was okay"....now that is hospitality. I left them a token of my appreciation. Small gift. Once I got settled in, I slept for 4 hours. I was so tired and this place was so cozy. It was raining in Detroit, and I'm from rain starved LA. The rain and the surprising cozyness of this loft was just what I needed....hence the reason for that 4 hour nap. I loved the location. For me, it was nice (ex-Detroiter) to hit Greektown on my first night and go to "Golden Fleece" restaurant. I did some exploring. This part of Detroit is in an area that is being slowly transformed. I find what is going on there interesting...a side of Detroit that many are unfamiliar with. Last time when I was home, I drove around this area and actually saw and wondered what this building was like. It's eclectic. Young at heart or plain young? Yes! If you huff and puff up three flights of stairs? No. Building has lots of character, but it also has an edgy feel. Some squeaky noises from time to time from above, but Thane mentioned that in his description of the space. This was a short trip (2 (Website hidden by Airbnb) all I can say is that for me this place was perfect. I've been staying out at different hotels when I visit home (I don't like to inconvenience) so this time I wanted to try what everyone already knows. I'm tardy to the party, but at least I made it. I tried to leave the place as much as I found it. I took out the trash and cleaned up. Did the needful locked, the door and was done. It was a positive experience.

A beautiful, open, airy loft space housed within a completely renovated 1926 industrial building. Centrally located on Woodward Avenue, steps away from the Amsterdam stop of the newly-installed QLINE in New Center. Hop on, and be anywhere you'd like in New Center, Midtown, or Downtown in minutes. Relax, you're home.
This is a modern loft apartment housed within a completely renovated 1926 building that originally housed graphic artists for General Motors, and other companies. Designed by famed-Detroit architect Albert Kahn, you'll notice the signature art-deco front-facade and incredible lobby of the building. All the character of the loft is still intact, from the concrete floors, brick exterior wall, and the mushroom columns Albert Kahn was known for. Home includes a large kitchen, front load washer and dryer, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. This building is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in the city. Kitchen includes gas stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days. You'll find a single bedroom (this was originally a studio unit, but has been converted into a completely-walled one bedroom unit). Beautifully comfortable queen bed, small dresser, and chair. The main bathroom includes a subway tile shower/tub, sink, and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect. Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The living room includes a couch (can be used for extra sleeping space, but isn't a pull-out), coffee table, and two chairs. 50" HDTV is hooked up to an Apple TV with Netflix. Outdoor space includes a small patio (which you'll enter from) with two bistro chairs and table. Enjoy the sunny back-alley of the building with a drink of your choice from the fridge. Local spots within walking/biking distance include the incredibly beautiful art-deco Fisher and Albert Kahn buildings; Midtown Shopping (Shinola, Willys, Nora, Hugh, Carhartt, Fellow Barber, City Bird, Nest, and more); the mid-century gardens and campus at Wayne State, and more. Local attractions include the city and public art, Belle Isle with its beaches, waterpark, Albert Kahn designed conservatory and aquarium, and trails. The world is your oyster. Restaurants nearby including fast food, Northern Lights Lounge, Falafill, Dangerously Delicious Pies, City Wings, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin, and more. The loft is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication. Taking photos during your stay? Make sure you #thatdetroitloft.
Awesome location right on Woodward at the Midtown/New Center border. Just a few blocks either way to a ridiculous amount of inspiration, character, activities, and restaurants. Take in the Detroit Institute of Arts, or check out the art-deco skyscrapers of New Center.
  • Jesse's loft space was exactly as pictured - minimal yet cozy. The midtown area was very safe and you are close to the Detroit Institute which I would definitely recommend stopping by! It was the perfect place to stay while exploring the city and unwinding from Movement weekend. I was really glad to be able to watch some Netflix and chill in a safe, quiet space.

    Simone2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse is a great host . The loft is fantastic. The Neighbourhood is quiet but central and I'd recommend staying here.

  • Jesse's loft couldn't have been better. It was clean, spacious, and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and all the furnishings were stylish and perfect for the space. Check in was easy, and Jesse was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. Easily one of the best airbnb experiences I've had yet.

  • Jesse was a lovely host answering my numerous! questions about his wonderful city with quick, informative responses. The apartment was great (Jesse has a keen eye for mid-century and wonderful Detroit-oblia.), spotlessly clean and in a really good (and safe) location. If you are considering a visit to D-town (go!) Jesse and his loft will make you feel right at home.

  • AirBnBs can be a mixed bag. You're sitting there looking at pictures and reviews, hoping that you are finding value and won't be let down. Well, Jesse and his loft in Detroit wins my award for a nearly perfect space. Carefully picked Mid-Century Modern touches, comfortable furniture, and a complete wall of windows. I found myself planning my days to maximize the time I could spend lounging and soaking up the vibe. Needless to say I know my go to anytime I visit the Detroit area. Thank you Jesse, fantastic work.

    William2017-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic!! Perfect location, easy to find and felt very safe with the Wayne State University police station next door. The loft had everything I needed for the week and was very clean & perfectly decorated. Good reading material too :) Jesse was great to work with, communicated quickly and the entire experience was flawless. Detroit is an awesome city, very exciting to see it come back! Looking forward to my next stay here, Veso

Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to fax ,copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • The hosts are amazing and the house is stunning. So worth it.

    Lauren2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! The apartment is very welcoming, beautiful design, great lighting. Will come back!

    Sam2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Zac & Rene's home exceeded my expectations and was even more beautiful than the pictures had portrayed – which I thought was impossible when we found the listing. Rene is an extremely talented interior designer and her design choices and decor throughout the house made the visit that much more enjoyable. We felt so comfortable and at home the entire time. The only downside to our stay was that it was so short.

    Trevor2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were so blessed to spend our honeymoon at your lovely place. Also, Tacocat was amazing and cuddly!

Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historical neighborhood that's also at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans—much of which is also for sale. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.
  • The house is very arty. Good.

  • Meghan's apartment is in a fantastic location, clean and neatly furnished. Plus she's a wonderful hostess to boot. We loved our three-night stay and would certainly recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a great Detroit experience. Thank you, Meghan!

    Claudia2015-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Meghan's place couldn't be in a more convenient location. Heart of Corktown near several great restaurants, shops, Michigan Central Station, Two James Distillery, etc. Great homebase for exploring Detroit for the first time. Two separate bedrooms with full baths make it perfect for couples traveling together. Great big kitchen and living room/hangout space...

    Kristen2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, restful spot to land in a great location. Check in couldn't be easier, and you will be close to lots of great places to eat and drink. Gorgeous - it will make you want to live in Detroit forever.

    Susan2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place! The apartment was perfectly located and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring Detroit!

    Anna2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED everything about Meghan’s place and Corktown and will absolutely stay there again!

    Betsy2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Meghan's loft above Slows BBQ is in a great location in Corktown! Very beautifully decorated and very comfortable. This was my second time staying here and I hope to be back!

    Lisa2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Honor and Folly is tasteful and perfectly located. So close to downtown, and with great food and drink options close by. My stays have been for business at the auto show, and my Uber/Lyft rides are under 10 minutes to the convention center. More important, it is stylishly decorated, with a warm feel. Love it. Will always book here when it's available!

  • Exactly as advertised. No surprises and no gimmicks. Easy and highly recommended.

    Jared2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was such an amazing space! Everything was a pictures. The loft was beautiful, clean and Kyle was a great host. Highly recommended!

    Desiree2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle was great with communication, the Airbnb was in a location close to a lot of attractions downtown, and the unit itself was cool. Would definitely recommend.

    Jelani2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you are unfamiliar with Detroit, I would suggest covering your bases with the area. It is only about 10 minutes from downtown. You are parked in gated lot, the building has key code entry, and you have a key to your door. Safe, but exhausting. There is 3 beds more guests to stay, but not enough furniture int he living room for people to sit on.

    Tori2018-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely huge place to stay at. It was myself and one other guest & there was still loads and loads of room. Definitely going to be looking at a group booking!

    Dakota2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place has a ton of potential! Wonderful set up and tons of natural sun light! My biggest concern was the value received for the price we paid. It could have been cleaner and overall just tidier. (Railing was flimsy, furniture was bad and just a lot of small things that probably just haven’t been taken care of yet). The amount of furniture was lacking and very uncomfortable. The couch had stains, one of the chairs was damaged and a barstool was broken. Although there’s not much of a view, there was a nice little private balcony on the roof, with access from our unit. Again, broken and lacking furniture, but a cool place to hang out nonetheless. The neighborhood definitely isn’t the greatest. The QLINE wasn’t as close as we hoped either. We took it in the daytime, but wouldn’t make that walk in that neighborhood at night to or from the stop. The check-in/checkout process was decent. I always love the simplicity of a keypad/lock box, etc. We never had to meet with anyone and felt like we had our privacy. The only concern I had in regards to the entry system, was the amount of codes. A different one for the parking lot gate, rear entrance, front door and then we still needed a key for our actual unit. Something small, but just a lot to remember! Again, lots of potential, just needs more time to make everything a little bit nicer and feel more complete. And once the surrounding area continues to get better, this would definitely be a place I would stay again, with a larger group of people. (We ended up only having 5 of us). There’s work to be done, but a good enough start that a stay in the future wouldn’t be out of the picture.

    Jeffrey2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place is in a good location, safe. LOT'S of light. I would recommend a sleeping/eye mask if you'd like to sleep in or are sensitive to light pollution. Also maybe some earplugs. There was some rail traffic, neighbors and a dog that kept me up the first night. We moved to the smaller room the next night and I slept much better! It's clean, kinda feels like a movie set.

    Tallulah2017-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Greatly enjoyed staying at Kyle's place. It's just as the ad describes, if not better. There's plenty of space, open floor plan, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows so you get plenty of natural light during the day. In the morning, it might be a bit bright for those who need darkness to sleep. And on warm days, it gets toasty but nothing that a little AC can't fix. I loved the large, open loft floor plan. The kitchen opening to the living area is very beautiful and convenient. Large smart TV with Netflix and other apps--plenty to watch. The 2nd floor loft is cool too--don't know how it would work if there were multiple couples staying together but it worked well since it was just me. Third floor is a roof-top patio/terrace, which is great for entertaining or just unwinding in the evening. All in all, it was a great visit and I can't say enough about Kyle's place. I will say--just because it surprised me--that there was only ONE (1) Kcup there for use and I never heard back from Kyle (or maintenance crew) when I inquired about the availability of more. Unless he fixes this, I would just advise to bring your own Kcups and get ready to enjoy Kyle's lovely place.

Fresh Gothic-Victorian nearby the Museum of African American History, Wayne State, Third Man Records, Shinola. Sfumato Fragrances NOW OPEN in the garden level, perfume shop and low-key scented cocktail bar (search for the latest Lonely Planet article). Selden Standard across the street. 9 min walk to QLINE (approx 10 min to Downtown on the streetcar). 10 min walk to U of M Ann Arbor shuttle bus. MoGo bike rental 1 block away. Rocket Fiber gigabit internet speed. Sonos controls in wall speakers.
This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. The space can definitely accommodate 3-4 people, but it’ll be cozy (i.e., it’s a Studio). There is ample closet space, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a private bathroom. The space gets great light. In addition to the low-key cocktail bar in the garden level, Detroit Clothing Circle clothing shop downstairs offers curated racks of clothing with styles that won't blend in with the herd.
We have a great location in Midtown Detroit, many great bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. Popular nearby attractions include the DIA, MOCAD, Chartreuse, Jolly Pumpkin, Hop Cat, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Coffee and Whole Foods.
  • Sarah was very communicative and the place was newly renovated, safe, and close to all of the things we needed to go to in Detroit. I would definitely stay here again!

  • The studio couldn't have been more perfect for me. Just as it looks in the photos: bright, clean, modern, and perfectly setup for someone who needs a quiet place to crash at late at night, then french press some coffee in the morning. Very high speed internet made working easy, and there was always a spot to park right outside. Keyless entry, duvet bed, bright windows... perfect. Was able to book with a response in less than 5 minutes. Will be back on my next trip.

  • I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay during my trip to Detroit. Mark's studio in Midtown is in a great location with many unique bars, restaurants, cafes, and shops all within easy walking distance. The apartment is an short walk to Detroit Institute of Art (DIA), Whole Foods, and Downtown Detroit. There's even a fun cocktail bar/fragrance shop on the lower level of the building, which is perfect for a tasty nightcap. The studio is clean, stylish, and private with plenty of amenities like a washer & dryer, full kitchen, and comfy bed. Mark was friendly and helpful and check-in was a breeze. Highly recommended place to stay in Detroit!

  • Our stay at Jacquelyne's studio was wonderful! The studio is very clean and in a wonderful location. The house manual came in handy often and had a lot of great information in it. The studio had everything we needed during our stay. We will definitely consider this studio on our next visit.

  • Mark's place was exactly what I hoped for and then some! It was clean, well equipped with essentials, and had modern charm. It felt like home even on the first night! The area felt safe, secure, and private with the added benefits of free parking out front and being conveniently located to my desired attractions. I was also very impressed and grateful for Mark's attention to detail, generous hospitality, and timely responses. I would highly reccomend booking your stay in this lovely studio apartment!

    Theresa2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean, stylish, and cozy space near everything. Couldn't be easier to check in and Mark is very communicative!

  • The studio is in a great location that's convenient to shops and restaurants. It's also a short drive to a Whole Foods and various museums. Right across the street is a great farm to table restaurant called Seldon standard that we highly recommend. The studio was clean and parking was easy. We would stay again and happily recommend. Thanks!

My husband, Matt, and I have a lovely flat in Hamtramck that has been restored to its original 1920s charm. Our style is intentional and warm, and decorations include things that we have collected through the years that have meaning to us. Equipped with a queen size bed in a spacious bedroom it is perfect for a couple or close friends! There’s plenty of room for an air mattress too. The living room has a couch, eating table, chair, and bar with stools for enjoying food and beverages. We provide a TV with Netflix access, games, and books for when you feel like relaxing after a long day of hanging out in the city. The brightness and vintage style of the kitchen will warm your heart. You will love cooking in this space, not to mention you will be provided with any cooking supplies you need. Lastly, the bathroom is large and clean with a vintage claw foot tub for a tranquil bath or shower. For longer stays, you are welcome to our washer and dryer in the basement.
Hamtramck is touted as ‘The World in 2 Square Miles.’ Located directly in the center of Detroit, it is a diverse city that has its roots in the rise of the auto industry. Anyone who loves history will appreciate the beauty and architecture that still exists in Detroit and Hamtramck. Originally a hub for Polish immigrants Hamtramck has maintained its eastern European flair and guests will find excellent Polish restaurants, markets with delicious pierogi, keilbasa, and stuffed cabbage along with a Polish Art Center equipped with treasured artifacts and souvenirs. Hamtramck also has some excellent Bengali, Indian, Iraqi and Yemeni food! • Matt and Meredith’s home is so charming and quaint it really feels like a cozy little home. They were fantastic hosts and had everything we needed to feel comfortable right down to the homemade beeswax lotion sourced from their own back yard! The neighborhood is vibrant and eclectic with lots of cool middle eastern & polish restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Hamtramck. Apartment was clean, comfortable, and perfectly located in one of Detroit's most interesting and diverse neighborhoods. Matthew and Meredith were super nice and informative and gave us lots of great tips for exploring Detroit. Thanks, Matthew and Meredith, for making our first trip to Detroit so comfortable and memorable. –David and Noah

  • Matt and Meredith's place was amazing! They are thoughtful and very accommodating hosts that made everything very easy. The Flat is exactly as described, we couldn't have been more comfortable there. We had such an awesome time in Detroit and staying at their flat helped really make the trip. We definitely hope to stay with them again on any future trips to Detroit.

  • Super clean and cute! I felt comfortable absolutely immediately! They respected my privacy and also were willing to help me whenever I needed recommendations or help! Had such a great experience for my first AirBnb stay!

    Lauren2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Meredith & Matthew's place! It was very accommodating, easy to access, they communicated everything clearly, which made my stay in the city easier. The neighborhood is very cute with lots of restaurants nearby. Thanks so much!

  • This is a great place in a great location. The apartment has everything you could want, from fast wifi to books and games. It's super clean. The bed and pillows are extra comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and easy to use. There are lots of toiletries to choose from in the huge bathroom. The hosts communicate easily and are really helpful. They go the extra mile. We stayed 3 nights and it was lovely.

    Debi2018-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Hamtramck is an amazing neighborhood and this is a great place to stay! Everything is as advertised and depicted. Matthew and Meredith were wonderful hosts and gave great food recommendations

    Ajay2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks to Matt and Meredith for being great hosts! They clearly went out of their way to think of everything a guest might want, from extra linens to coffee fixings and a range of teas to a fully stocked bathroom (not just the random hotel leftovers many hosts have!) They left us a very nice card and bottle of wine before we arrived and were really quick responding to messages. The neighborhood has a lot of great food and is very conveniently located-- a quick drive or Lyft/Uber to downtown, the DIA, riverfront, etc. Matt and Meredith also have a binder full of tips, local brochures, and a running map.

This loft is a mix of the industrial beauty that Detroit has to offer along with modern decor from my travels. 5 minutes from Belle Isle & Downtown, on the Riverwalk and next to an upgraded park. Fully equipped, for up to four people. Close to Belle Isle, Comerica Park, Ford Field, Chene Park, Joe Louis Arena, Fox Theatre, the Masonic Temple, Cobo Hall, Detroit Institute of Arts, the Fillmore, Hart Plaza and Little Caesar's Arena.
The loft is a wide open space located near the heart of Downtown. Large windows allow for natural light to illuminate the loft during the day and my smart-lights allow for an array of colors at night, which can be controlled directly from your smartphone. Artwork and photos decorate the walls along with objects I've collected along my travels. The perfect place to come back to relax to after a crazy day in Detroit! New furniture, full closet and storage for clothing/luggage, work station, Apple TV, Netflix, decanter & wine set, plant life and a short guide for the best things to do while in Detroit. Very comfortable queen size bed to wake up to a view of Downtown in the morning; I definitely missed it while I was traveling through other Airbnb's!
The neighborhood is great. Right on the Detroit River with easy access to the heart of downtown, Belle Isle or the Dequindre Cut by way of walking, biking or by car. Adjacent to the building is a newly upgraded park to mark the start (or end) of the Riverwalk which has nice rolling greens to spend a Summer day on. There is a grocery store within walking distance.
  • We loved the vibe and style of the loft (and how comfortable the bed was). Christopher was super on point with everything. A great host!

    Tyler2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking to be cloe to the city, Chris's place would be an awesome fit. Everything you read or see in the pictures, will look exactly the same in person. Chris was an awesome host and always responded so fast when it came down to communication. He prepped the place to have such a relaxed vibe and a homey feel. We definitely would come back and stay here again. We loved it!!

    Ellen2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The first night I was there the Fireworks were going on, the streets were closed and the host came back to let me in. Very helpful with every question that I sent to him and inquiry that I made. He was a very good host.

    Erik2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place, in a great location of the city, besides the apt being right above a gym, and Christopher's a real good host.

    Juan2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay pretty close to the riverwalk. There is a walgreens not too far. The apt was really decorated nicely and had a working tv with lots of channels. The host was very accommodating and communicative during our stay. Cool lights! The actual building isn't 5 stars quality but we were happy with the value especially since we were able to book it pretty last minute and were still accommodated.

    Esther2018-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great host! Christopher really cares about the guest experience and his home has a fun global vibe.

  • No complaints!!!

Sunny, cozy and serene. Right off of Jefferson Ave and Detroit’s Riverwalk. The perfect retreat with a gorgeous view of the Detroit River and only a 5-minute drive to downtown! Just a few blocks from Belle Isle Park with a beautiful view of the river. Ample and safe parking for all guests. The newly renovated Mt. Elliot Park directly across the street provides for a safe and family friendly environment for a stroll.
The building stays true to Detroit's cultural history as it is rustic and once used by manufacturers. Turned into an artist's loft space, the living space features exposed red brick throughout. Interior decor is boho-chic meets Moroccan themes. Souvenirs from my travels to Asia, Africa, and the middle east also fill the space. Coffee and cereal included.
The neighborhood is very safe. The apartment building is directly on the Detroit River Front, which it should be noted that the River Front has completely been renovated and truly family friendly. A Walgreens is directly across the street as well as a gas station on the corner. Getting around is fairly easy. Most restaurants and cafes are within a 5-10 minute driving distance.
  • Awesome loft space, found it hard to leave! Wish it was my own apartment!

  • We had a great stay at Semirah’s place. The apartment is clean and cool and walking distance to downtown. Highly recommend.

    Tom2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Semira’s place was perfect for our weekend stay, and had a great view of Belle Isle. We had a bit of trouble getting into the place when we arrived, but Semira was readily available to help :) Though not located within walking distance to many places we visited, it was a very quick drive into Downtown, West Village, Corktown, etc. The loft was always a nice place to come back to after a long day. One thing to note: the loft space where the bed is located has a rather short clearance, so watch your head :) Overall, we had a lovely time!

    Michelle2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was cute, area seemed a little sketchy.

    Dustin2018-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a beautiful time in this loft. The neighborhood and building were very friendly and it was so close to belle isle!! Easy to check and out, Semira responds fast!

    Elizabeth2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Semira’s place was so lovely and cute. Perfect for our one night in town, and was very fast with communicating. Plenty of parking, and a pretty view. Be prepared to walk up some steps though! I would definitely stay again, and recommend her place to anyone.

    Jessica2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really great value for this location. Semira’s space was very cute, cozy, and clean. She was very sweet and accommodating, and responded quickly and thoughtfully to all questions. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Christopher was great! He helped us with a last minute booking. Nice cute place with 2 bathrooms which is a plus. His place is near everything essential, Walgreens, party store, pizza, great great location and near the water!

  • The loft is in a great area just east of downtown. The loft is a cool space, with nice artwork and interesting touches of decor. Really enjoyed our evening there, and would definitely stay again.

  • Decided to take a last-minute trip to Detroit and Christopher could not have been more accommodating and responsive. His loft is large and comfortable in a quiet, safe location. We appreciated that the shower was fully stocked with toiletries, and that there was a bluetooth speaker for music. While it was just the two of us, his place would be great for a group of friends, as there are two beds and a couch. Excellent choice for our quick stay! Would definitely stay again.

Few minutes to Caesar's Casino and downtown You are a few minutes ' walk of the Detroit Riverside Park。 My listings close to nightlife, public transport, suitable for family activities. Because of location, landscape, and you will fall in love with my listings. My houses are ideal for couples, solo travelers adventure, business travellers, families with young children.
The house is composed of four old Winsor apartments, located in a very quiet old quarter. Between the four apartments is very independent. The house is a bit old but beautiful, and you live in a house that will make you feel back to the past of Winsor.
You live in this house, you will be very surprised. Close to the bar and a few minutes to the city center. Going out is shops, groceries and restaurants. Block bus, a minute is the station. The most important thing is to get through the Detroit Tunnel. 5 minutes' walk to the casino and Detroit riverside park.
  • The apartment is beautiful, it's well lit and air conditioned. It has a full working kitchen and bathroom. The neighborhood is off putting but nothing occurred to our new car. Would totally recommend.

    Fatima2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • I was there for the CARHA 2016 Hockey World Cup. It is a 10 minute walk to Caesars where it was hosted. I had it initially booked for 5 days, then I changed it to 2 days because my team suddenly had space for me at Caesars. Then I got sick and arrived a day late. Then my roommate at Ceasars didn't want me getting her sick so I extended my stay for 2 more days. Shiyun was great at accommodating all the changes with no issue at all. There's full breakfast laid out when I arrived, but I didn't eat anything other than a couple of bananas because I was too sick to eat. He even had tissues in the apartment for me which was great. And it was extremely reasonably priced. I'd definitely stay at his properties again if I'm ever in town again.

    Nett2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • For the most part, good. There was a fragrence diffuser, though, and even though we disabled it for the length of our stay, the smell lingered--including in my stuff once I left. That was my only real complaint, though. Otherwise it was much as expected.

    Jordana2018-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Shiyun's place is on a quiet street quite literally a five minute walk to the casino and river walk. Downtown Windsor is also within walking distance including access to the Windsor-Detroit tunnel bus if you care to venture cross-border. Check-in was a breeze and everything is clean. The space might be a little tight for four people but is perfect for three. As a solo traveler I had more than enough space. Parking in the back was also appreciated.

    Dan2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Place is very nice and cozy. Had everything you might need! Definitely recommend it!

    Jazmin2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great house with very quiet nearby. Some excellent Middle East restaurants in the neighborhood.

    Kenneth2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed there for 3 nights for our short vacation. The room is very spacious for a couple traveling with minimum luggage. The place is close to main attractions on Riverside. It also has a parking space and it is safe. Our stay there is much better than we expected.

    Dylan2017-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The other reviews seemed great so I had high hopes. However, there were spiderwebs with live spiders and nests in every room upon arrival. Along with the spiders, fruit flies were a constant annoyance and we had to clean dishes before using them because there were dead bugs in the cups and unknown residue. We messaged Shiyun and he seemed very shocked and said someone would come the next day to clean. This never happened and he did not respond the next day when we messaged about more spiders and mysterious yellow stains on white towels. No more correspondence after the first night of a two night stay, not even for check-out instructions. Overall, the place was cute, comfortable, and convenient. The lack of cleanliness and communication put a huge damper on an otherwise decent place.

Feel the industrial vibes of Detroit in this gorgeous loft, located in a 1920's automotive factory. Some features like the wood floors and pillars are all original. It also has exposed brick, and tall windows letting the sun shine through. Located in a quiet, industrial area 3-8 minute drive to Midtown, Eastern Market, Hamtramck and Downtown. 1 mile to Q line and very bike friendly as you can get to many places easily!
This industrial boho loft is clean, comfy and ideal for couples and solo travelers. The loft area is currently off limits for sleep (the heat rises and stays too warm up there), so those booking should ideally be able to share the full mattress or be ok with sleeping on the sofa. WiFi Fully equipped kitchen Private entrance in the parking lot Sleeping arrangements: Full size super comfy Sealy posturepedic mattress Sofa- for 1 (not too tall) Twin bed — off limits for winter Please select the amount of guests you will be so that I can provide bed sheets and towels accordingly.
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants ~ The loft is located in an old industrial and unique neighborhood. Many of the plots and buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens and music venues. The area is safe, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eary to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.
  • The space is super nice and clean. The decor and the plants give off a good, relaxing vibe. The convenience of location makes it easy to commute to and from downtown (not more than a $10 Uber ride). Georgia is as sweet as can be. We communicated with her during the check-in process and she respond very quickly. Her directions to get to the place and instructions of what to do once we got there were totally spot on. We have recommended her to our friends and would definitely stay here again.

    lauren2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this industrial vibe loft! My daughter and I were visiting together and enjoyed space for working on our laptops and playing games in the unique space.

    Nicholina2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 would recommend. No complaints. Very comfortable. Quick responses and friendly.

    Brandon2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nothing gross or really that negative about it, the loft was what I expected from it's description, bathroom was expectedly dated but overall a unique experience staying in a building that used to be a factory in Detroit.

    Chanel2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We wanted a place with a real Detroit feel, and this delivered. The loft is in a repurposed candy factory. It's a small space, with no television and limited internet, but that is part of it's appeal. The surrounding area is rather bleak, but it's close to downtown and has a lot of interesting history. Just a warning for older travelers or those with small children - the beds are on an upper level of the loft that you have to climb a ladder to get to and there is no railing along the edge. For the size, it's very comfortable and perfect for an overnight stop.

    Lorie2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • It was last minute rsvp, and only for 1 night, but anyway me and my family enjoyed to stay there, and I think Georgia's place gave us real touch and sense of Detroit. My kids were so happy to explore everything, especially hammocks. Thank you, Georgia!

    Oxana2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia's place is exceptionally cute! Communication with the host was great. She provides photos and a clear explanation of how to enter the listing. None of the items below are deal-breakers, other than the smoke alarm, but things I think a future guest would want to know. Things a future guest might want to know: No working smoke alarm in the space No TV or microwave (this is fine, but I don't remember seeing that in the listing) The building and parking lot seemed safe, but the gate only worked intermittently and all surrounding buildings were boarded up and abandoned.

    Eva2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia's place was a great find for my last-minute booking into Detroit. The apartment is in an artists' residence outside the city that is a bit secluded, but it wasn't too much trouble to get Lyft pickups there-- I just used the dropped pin function rather than inputting an address. The loft is lovely but got rather hot in the evening (no AC), so I would recommend being ready for that if you are visiting in the summer. The wifi worked great the first few hours I was there, but was not reliable/usable for the rest of my stay. Georgia was very helpful in arranging things for my checkin even when she wasn't able to prep the apartment herself before my arrival! I also loved the decor and feel of the space. And while the apartment is in a somewhat secluded area, getting downtown took less than 15 minutes by car.

Hello! Our home is an 1890 Victorian mansion that we purchased in 2012 and lovingly renovated over three years using a team of local craftspeople and myself. This space is a quirky 1 bedroom, 1 bath garden level loft with much of its original character preserved. Located in the heart of Midtown just one block from 15+ bars and restaurants, DMC, Shinola and way more. The space is designed with leisure stays in mind but also capable of accommodating business travelers comfortably. Parking included
The space features a custom cherry old-growth wood bar along with handbuilt cherry countertops. The bathroom has its own interesting character equipped with the biggest shower I've ever installed as a builder. The apartment is stocked with coffee, has an Apple TV and high-speed WiFi and dart board. The space is equipped with a modern heating system and natural cooling from the original stone walls. It’s very comfortable year round.
Midtown is an exploding, vibrant neighborhood in the center of Detroit. There are so many fantastic bars, shopping opportunities, museums and restaurants within walking distance. The Wayne State Police is highly active and patrols Midtown 24/7 with a fast response rate making Midtown the safest neighborhood in Detroit and one of the safest university campuses in the nation.
  • Kelsey's place was magnificent and we wish we stayed there for longer but our travel plans permitted us to stay for just one night. The place was very spacious and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The decor was industrial, functional and tasteful. I'd recommend this place to friends and we can't wait to be back.

  • Fantastic stay in Detroit - great area to be based - safe area, off street parking and close to everything - attractions, supermarket, bars etc. The space was great - very cool design, very spacious and unique with modern ammenities. Kelsey was really helpful with local information and recommendations, also very friendly and easy to communicate with. We would love to stay here again.

Adventurers welcome! Stay here & help fund our renovation work as we bring this abandoned 20's mansion back to life! House is RUSTIC & a WORK IN PROGRESS. Private room is restored with original features. Lockable Room Door, King bed with Foam Mattress, Mini Fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker. Shared bathroom, kitchen & common area. We host other travelers too so expect community vibe! 5-15 mins bike to most top attractions. Perfect for biking explorers.
This spacious private room is restored to its original state and comfortably furnished. It has a nice king memory foam bed (Size: 76 in x 80 in). The room also comes with convenient amenities like coffee maker, microwave and a mini fridge. The room door is lockable. We usually set up only a KING bed for up to 2 guests in the room. Please let us know if you need us to set up the extra single beds. We currently have 3 bathrooms shared in the house. Since other travelers and our international volunteers helping us will be staying under the same roof and sharing the same bathroom / kitchen / lounge, the space will have a strong community vibe. Expect to meet cool people from all around. We’ve made lots of friends while traveling and staying in this type of shared environment and we love it. :) With that being said, if you require more privacy, this is probably not the best place for you but most guests see it as a great way to meet people and embrace the community vibe as part of the adventure.
Our house is just up from Belle Isle on the same street! We're close to Eastern Market to our north west and West Village / Indian Village to our south east. Straight shot over to Downtown / Midtown and most top attractions are within 3 miles. A lot of homes in this area are being revitalized right now but there are still a lot of work to be done and you'll probably see some blighted houses nearby. If you want some more info about neighborhoods or places to check out please let us know! We have an extensive travel guide we put together for our guests.
  • un lugar muy céntrico y bueno para ir se pasó pero tiene u olor que no me gusto

  • Cuarto grande, cómodo, con muchos accesorios de servicio, la entrada a la casa muy oscura.

  • Did the job for the price. Fast WiFi. Clean bedroom. Rest of house was a mess due to renovation. Keypad made entry easy. Wouldn’t take a first date here. Would recommend for one nighters on business. Parking was easy.

    Pascal2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay at this place. The room was clean and large enough for me and my friend (2 persons), and the bed comfortable. This is more of a hostel, and the people I met there were all nice. The place was quiet enough for good sleep. It has a great common/shared kitchen. I’ve never met the host but check-in was very easy, the people working there friendly and helpful, and the host was often in touch via messages.

    Thom2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Good spot to stay for a quick trip!

    Morgan2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, safe location, and the space was easy to check into. Crazy comfortable bed in a nice and spacious room. We only stayed for a night but would definitely recommend the space for anyone traveling to Detroit!

    Rick2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Though the pictures made our room look larger than it actually was, everything else was up to our expectations. The room and house was clean despite it being partly under construction (which we knew prior to booking via the owner). Jenny and Alex were very friendly, accommodating, and provided quick responses to anything we needed. Their willingness to satisfy our needs during our stay was evident and made our stay a good one!

  • Christa & David’s place was immaculate and in a great location! Walking distance to fun restaurants and bars. Super trendy local items throughout the loft made you know you were in Detroit.

    Jennifer2018-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This quiet little getaway is perfect for escaping the city without ever really leaving. The loft has a cozy & modern feel with hints of vintage Detroit all around. The rooftop deck has a perfect view of the Detroit skyline. Sunrise or sunset, the view is amazing! Christa & David are fantastic hosts, they made my girlfriend & I feel at home right away. With a full breakdown of the loft and surrounding area they provide tips on nearby restaurants & more. If you’re looking for a little getaway this is the place to be.

    James2018-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This loft was perfect for a night out in Detroit. The loft is very well decorated and contains a lot of items from Detroit. It was extremely clean and well laid out. The rooftop deck had amazing views and was perfect for sitting outside with friends. Lots of street parking. The host had great communication and quick responses. We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to booking again!

  • Fantastic location, wonderful hosts. Detailed recommendations and instructions were provided - and the view took the cake. Can't wait to stay here again.

  • This is one of the best Air BnBs we have ever stayed at. A stunning space that really gives you the best of Detroit. Worth every penny.

    Kenton2018-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the style of the spot. Very thoughtful touches. I appreciate french themed deco and its done very well here. I loved the availability of the firepit and the roof was definitely my favorite feature, such a great view of downtown and the activities around. There were even great games available if you needed to pass the time. David was very prompt with messaging and easy to talk to. You can trust this listing

    Aja2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in Christa and David's home was an outstanding experience. The hosts are beyond friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spotless, beautifully furnished, and possess countless adorable touches. The house is located in the middle of numerous restaurants, coffee shops and entertainment, but you might not ever leave after stepping out on the stunning rooftop deck. My friends and I (seven of us total) couldn't have been happier with our stay. I highly recommend this location.

  • Quiet, does the job. Minimalist. Building is a bit odd, but seemed safe.

    Julie2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • I had not been to Detroit before - I was only in town for one day for business. It was a perfectly fine place to stay for one night, and Kyle was a great host. The only thing I would say is that as it is in an apartment building, I was able to hear others very easily in the building. Besides that, I recommend staying here.

    Hannah2017-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very clean. We enjoyed our stay very much!

    Patrick2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle and Martha's place is super close to all of the major museums and other attractions. Check-in was seamless and they have amazing communication as well!

    Castell2018-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's space was great -- simple but completely as advertised. Nothing is actually central in Detroit, but it was a great home base to check out the eatern market, 5 minutes to Supino's pizzeria, and no more than a 10$ uber ride to midtown and the DIA or the bars and restaurants of Corktown. There is a wonderful cafe nearby -- Trinosophes. Commuication was great too and parking is included.

    Paula2017-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great place to stay. Very safe and clean. It has everything you need in the kitchen. The location is very close to the Eastern Market which has plenty of shops and restaurants. The host shared great recommendations for things to do in the area.

    Rachel2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's place was clean, comfortable, and spacious! The apartment was within walking distance of grocery stores and parks, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Candice2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tried to stay here for a night, but was unable to due to safety concern in the building. The apartment itself was clean, but the building overall was very run-down, smelled of marijuana and had many people loitering in the lobby area. Parking lot was not secure. Kyle was very responsive to emails.

Enjoy and explore the quaint but up-and-coming neighborhood of West Village Detroit. This cozy apartment is just steps away from new shops and restaurants like Sister Pie, Craft Work and Red Hook Coffee. With it’s historic elements in tact, wood floors, and antique charm the space has a subtle and sophisticated feel and was furnished with this in mind. The original murphy bed folds down in the living room and a custom made kitchen bar top folds up for extra guest accommodations.
The West Village neighborhood is a lovely up and coming area of Detroit. While it's still easiest to get around Detroit by car there are some great restaurants and shops within walking distance. If you'd like any recommendations just send me a message. We are also right next to Indian Village, a neighborhood with beautiful houses built in the early 1900s. Overall, the neighborhood is very walkable and friendly.
  • Cozy and comfortable.

    John2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Conveniently located on in a splendid and safe neighborhood. My photographer were in and out all over the city - each location was no more than 15 minutes from where we were. I was concerned about parking since we had a rental, but it was never an issue. One side is no parking from 7-9AM on one side and the other from 4-6. This information will be helpful to those who have rental cars. The hours never were an issue though. Internet was very slow for the both of us -not sure what was going on with that. Other than that, great place and location. Morgan even accommodated us a bit early since our plane landed a little after 9AM. Love Detroit and will be back for sure!

    Melissa2018-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical. Even my dog seemed to be in a zen state. Hope to stay here again next time I am in Detroit. Morgan is a talented host with an eye for design.

    Joan2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place was cute and the description was accurate. The building was somewhat noisy. That being said it is great for a young couple looking to experience downtown Detroit.

    Jeremiah2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a great stay here for one night. Everything was just as described and pictured. Morgan was great at communicating and left clear instructions. The apartment was quite clean and bed was warm and comfy. It is a beautiful space and great for two people. We were there on a cold, snowy night and it was warm, despite the windows being a bit drafty. The neighborhood is great with awesome shops nearby. Neighbors were quiet, but apartment is next to the entrance of the building and you can hear people entering and exiting. It did not keep us up, but wanted to note it. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this place to anyone staying in Detroit.

    Kevin2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! The vibes in this quaint apt were on point. Wasn’t too far away from a few cool eating and drinking spots.

    Gus2018-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Morgan's was lovely. She was communicative and prompt. Her home was stylish and comfortable. The bed was great. Everything worked as it should for an old home and we enjoyed our stay there.

    Nathan2018-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is up and coming but you can definitely see it’s charm. The apartment is even better than the photos. Styled well and completely equipped with all you need to feel at home.

  • Good place to stay in Detroit! Location: Close to the Q-Line (aprox.10 min walk), which made it easy to get downtown. Uber and Lyft also worked perfectly; there was always one nearby. Accommodation: Just like in the pictures! The house was very clean and the bedroom/bathroom had everything you could need. Michael even provided some toiletries in case you forgot to bring something along. Host: I met Michael briefly but he was very friendly and helped me carry my luggage to the room. Communication was always perfect and the key exchange was very easy.

  • This was a fantastic place to stay. Close to the river and restaurants. Would recommend if you want something easy!

    Jenn2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • The check-in was easy but I have to confess that the neigborhood is not great. There is a ant problem in the house and the kitchen isn't equipped. We were 5 and asked for sheets for the couch and the host didn't provide any pillowcase and no fitted sheet for the couch which was pretty dirty. We only stayed 1 night so that was okay. It's a cheap place close to Détroit so it a good option for tiny budget.

    Justine2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was an excellent place to stay at! Very clean and inviting. The host went above and beyond and made us feel very welcomed on our stay!

    Jesse2016-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was actually my second time renting Shiyun's property and as before, I'm happy with the services. The house was very clean although old. I particularly appreciated the clean-scented linens and towels, and toilet paper supplies. Check-in was a breeze and communication was easy. While coffee and tea were provided, unlike our last visit at his other location, breakfast (i.e., milk, pastries & fruit) wasn't offered this time but we helped ourselves to the bottled water available in the fridge. Location-wise, this property is just a few blocks away from downtown Windsor. While relatively strategically located, this apartment is located in an "ethnic" working class neighborhood, which other reviewers may have considered "sketchy". All-in-all, this is a bang for the buck rental and I'd definitely stay there again!

    Annisa2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, and cozy space :)

    Carolin2018-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is lovely and spacious, it is an old building but nicely finished with a quirky charm and has excellent AC, (it was in the mid 30c and extremely comfortable). It is located close to an area with diverse restaurants and shops. There was a nice size TV but it had no cable or antenna therefore no channels, however the wifi was excellent and fortunately I had my laptop. We definitely will be staying here again as it is an excellent value and very close to our daughters place.

Trendy, unique, & upscale apartment with absolutely no expense spared! Sits atop a privately owned, newly restored, multi-million $ building. All decor is from Restoration Hardware, creating a classy, high-tech, & luxurious travel experience. Minutes from the heart of downtown & stadiums, one block from famous restaurants: Slow's BBQ & Takoi, as well as craft cocktail bar, Sugar House & Two James Distillery. Great, safe location to explore the city & have fun. Perfect for couples/groups/events.
Located in the old Bullock Green Hardware building, a local architect with an incredible eye for detail sunk $1m+ into the rehab and decoration of the commercial building, converting it into unique living spaces. The building consists of 4 separate units: 1 massive master unit takes up the entire 1st floor, and 3 separate units that have private access are located on the 2nd floor. This unit is one of those 3. Exposed brick, accompanied with state of the art electronics and modern fixtures makes this a very unique and desirable property.
Corktown is the oldest surviving neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan. Corktown derives its name from the Irish immigrants who settled there. Very safe, friendly area with plenty of bars, restaurants, distilleries within walking distance. The road consists of cobblestone, which gives it the cool, nolstalgic feel. Very close to I-75 & M-10.

This loft is the essence of what Detroit has to offer; sophisticated design, history, technology and an appreciation for nature. 5 minutes from Belle Isle & Downtown, on the Riverwalk and next to an upgraded park. Fully equipped, for up to six people.
20ft projector screen with Xbox One with 2 controllers and Xfinity Cable, new furniture, 5 color changing smartphone controlled lights, iPhone 6s+ to use to easily control the lights or surf the web, full closet and storage for clothing/luggage, record player (request a few albums to have!), work station, decanter & wine set, 2 LED systems under each bed, touch free soap dispenser, plant life and a short guide for the best things to do while in Detroit. Very comfortable queen size beds to wake up to a view of Downtown in the morning with privacy curtains for each room.
  • Decorated beautifully and very comfortable! I love the dry erase map in the kitchen where you can add your name and where you are from!

  • The loft was better than advertised. Christopher was super responsive throughout the entire process. Playing video games on 250” was a blast. The location was perfect for short/cheap uber rides to all the bars and restaurants we wanted to visit. It’s was nice to have such an inviting space to come back to, after a night out. Very cool place.

  • Amazing place! She responded instantly.

  • We had a great stay, Connie's apartment was perfect and in a great location within the city. Security at the building was high, but that is probably a good thing. I would recommend staying here to others!

    Monique2015-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing. The apartment was gorgeous, near, clean, and spacious. The directions for checking in and out were clear. Great location, and I highly recommend staying here.

    Abisola2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying in Connie's apartment. Connie wasn't there (its a studio apartment) so I didn't meet her but she was super helpful and responsive and the guidebooks and maps she has left for guests really helped me in planning my time while in Detroit. The location is perfect - Midtown is a nice area and very central to use as a base - and the apartment is right next to the Detroit Institute of the Arts (and 'must see') and the universities, and only a few blocks from MOCAD (the contemporary arts gallery). I would certainly recommend Connie's apartment to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Detroit.

    Jon2014-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The space was delightful! I really enjoyed the bright walls and was impressed with the detail that Connie put into making her space user friendly. The building is wonderful with lots of things going on! I was in town for an Art tour and was happy to have the DIA next door. I felt very safe in the space and the directions for the arrival were very detailed allowing for a smooth check in and check out. Great space and an awesome part of town! If it hadn't been for the snowy weather, I would have explored more but loved all of the suggestions that were left behind!

    Julia2015-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood was fantastic, and all the information Connie left was very helpful in our explorations. Her clear directions made the apartment easy to find and our stay quite comfortable. The apartment was perfect for the three of us, and we would certainly consider staying with Connie on any future trips. Highly recommend booking with her, very professional, communicative, and kind.

    Caitlin2015-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Connie's place was perfect! Great location, very clean, laundry facilities in the basement, and parking was included!! Although I did not meet Connie, she was extremely welcoming! She provided a thorough email with check in/check out procedures. Upon our arrival at her apartment, she had information about the local neighborhood (maps, menus, etc). The apartment was very clean and I loved how she decorated it! Definitely one of my Airbnb favorites!!

  • Kyle was prompt to answer messages, but I do not believe my experience with the "owner" when I talked to him was the guy pictured. There seemed to be some sexual solicitation going on in other lofts, but we were scolded for our noise levels (before 10pm). Seemed a bit strange... loft itself was nice. Hand rails were a bit shaky, could be an accident waiting to happen, but overall... solid time, great price for what you get.

    Heather2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool space. Modern and open. Loved it.

    Jean2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle was great at communicating with us about all aspects of our stay. We enjoyed our stay and the building is very cool place to stay. I liked the location and would stay there again.

    Joe2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is large and beautiful. It is a corner unit so it has great light and views. Sometimes traffic can be loud (so maybe bring ear plugs for sleeping), but other than that, it was a nice stay. The host was great at communicating and we had no issues with our stay.

    Stacy2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • My entire stay at Kyle's tip-top, clean, quiet and secure loft was perfect from start to finish. Not only did Kyle meet a request of mine out of the blue, he went above and beyond to ensure my stay my the best that it could possibly be. The place is lovely and in a great location in the city; I highly recommend it.

    Jessica2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, a good rental and value, with a great location with loads of space, but had to give it 3 stars due to the lack of hot water (big issue especially when it is sub-zero temps outside) as it wasn't even what I would consider luke warm. To be fair, we didn't contact Kyle as we were only there 1 night and we didn't notice until ~2 hours before checking out; Pros: Cool loft, amount of space was incredible - bright and airy; Location was literally within 8-15 minutes of everywhere we went; check-in was a breeze; Cons: Wi-fi speed/connection was insufficient; No hot water, not even luke warm; Security - front door was propped open when we first got there (probably one of the other renters did this as a birthday party was going on), 2nd gate was open the entire stay and didn't close, so there was no need to go through the 1st gate with a code; No lights/lamp in the main living area

    Josh2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean, well laid out, and conveniently located. Everything was as described and I'd say the pictures don't do it justice. Kyle was amazing.

    Antoine2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle was very accommodating and fulfilled almost every request I made, in an effort to keep my friends I was traveling with comfortable. However, I didn't know you had to request airbeds in advanced, one of the girls slept on the couch. Still, she said it ended being pretty comfy so I guess it wasn't terrible. The location of the loft isn't amazing. It's not the safest environment so I wouldn't walk around and you definitely need a car or uber to get around. Don't rely on public transit in this area. Beside that the loft was absolutely stunning and cozy and Kyle was a fantastic host!

  • Michelle's place was comfortable and spacious, within walking distance of some of the best places in Corktown. Great old house in an interesting part of the city.

    William2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Michelle's! We were only there for one night but the neighborhood was great and it was easy to walk to a bunch of cool restaurants/bars around. We'd definitely recommend staying there

    Megan2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Michelle's funky old home. The neighbourhood was great. Lovely quiet treed streets. Friendly neighbour's. Pubs and restaurants in walking distance . Michelle was very accommodating and went out of her way to help set up the TV and computer. We hope we can stay there again on future visits to Detroit.

    Phyllis2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle laid everything out for us really well, we knew what to expect even before we got there. The home is very well decorated and it looks like it is used as a home when no one is staying there. There is a ton of space, a nice kitchen for cooking, and lots for hanging out. A great dinning room table to play games around, too! The bed is a full size, but quite comfortable. Wish we could have explored more around the area, it looked like a neat area.

    Suze2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this listing and only wished we had a longer stay to take advantage of the beautiful big kitchen and dining room. Michelle was very responsive and helpful and the space was beautifully designed. Ample street parking, charming neighborhood nearby with lots of delicious eateries. Close to a fantastic used bookstore (John K. King). Convenient to downtown. Highly recommended.

    Lucas2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • As a host, Morgan was promptly responsive and I always felt welcome to be in touch should something arise. The place itself has a distinctly bohemian vide consistent with its West Village location: hip, understated, emerging. Everything was clean; the kitchen was stocked with good amenities. It was good to have a reserved parking space with the location.

702 Brant St, Windsor, ON N9A 3E8 Few minutes to Caesar's Casino and downtown You are a few minutes ' walk of the Detroit Riverside Park。 My listings close to nightlife, public transport, suitable for family activities. Because of location, landscape, and you will fall in love with my listings. My houses are ideal for couples, solo travelers adventure,On the first floor of the business travelers. Breakfast offers free coffee, coffee with milk, tea, sugar, hope they make your trip happier!
The water heater is a bit noisy.
  • It’s like described, the area not the best but was accepted for the price

  • Easy checking , great price, stylish and cozy place

    Juan2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • When pulling up outside I was a bit skeptic and parking was limited. Once we were through the door we were amazed. It was well decorated and just as pictured. I was happy to see the place was very clean. It was perfect for two and even came with coffee and tea. The kitchen is fully stocked in means of small appliances. Tv had Netfilx and the Wi-Fi worked great. It was a bit chilly but I brought a mini heater just incase so I'd advise those staying during the cold times to bring one too or pack extra blankets. The only down side to this location is the noise. Alot of loud cars stop at the corner and the tenants above are very noisy.

    Chantell2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was exactly as described. Very clean. Having a big screen smart tv was a bonus. Comfy bed. Close to everything we needed. Will definitely stay there again.

    Mark2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • It's a good place for the price- very clean and well kept. Not the best area. Also the air conditioning cannot be handled by guests - so if you can't sleep without it being somewhat cool- maybe this place isn't for you. Also the curtain in the front room was completely see through - with neighbours going by and cars it was kind of annoying. Also I was awoken early due to tons of banging on the ceiling above the bedroom- there was renovating going on that morning, which it wouldn't have been nice to have a notice about that if the owner knows about the apartment above. But it was good for the price- basic things were supplied like towels, cutlery, bowls, plates etc. Nice furniture and a good tv and a decent amount of space. Not the best area- but okay for the price and the inside of the apartment doesn't reflect the outside.

    Esther2018-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and stilish with a comfy couch and bed! It gets pretty chilly in the winter as you do not have control over the heat/air and the vents are all covered by furniture. It is a great location only 3 minutes from Caesars casino and right off the main road with lots of restaurants and small shops. Decent amount of space. We enjoyed our stay very much!!

This is the safest and one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in all Detroit. Through out all of Detroit there are pockets of wonderful neighbors, with emptiness and development between them. If you want a tree lined quiet street close to the city, this is it. Fully renovated last year. My wife and I love bringing back historic beauty to the city. 2 bedrooms, living room, full kitchen, new bathroom. Minutes from everything Detroit has to offer. Woodbridge Midtown area. 1st floor apt
It has a nice living room, two nice size bedrooms, fully remodeled bathroom, and a fully stocked kitchen. Easy access, tankless water heater (you will never run out of hot water), Nest, and a smart TV.
Woodbridge is one of the most beautiful areas of Detroit. Within 1-2 miles of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Whole Foods, Eastern Market, Downtown, Wayne State. Comerica Park, Ford Field, Masonic Temple, Fox Theater, Corktown. We are a quiet neighborhood only a mile or two from anything you want to see. Detroit safety and emptiness comes up often. This house is in the safest part of Detroit. We are the only area that is patrolled by three police departments due to Wayne State University and the variety of medical centers near by. Many are thrown off by the current state of Detroit. There are amazing small "islands" of great neighborhoods throughout the city, but a lot of emptiness, grafitti, and development between all of them. You can't escape it if you are staying in Detroit. It's the nature of our city. This house is in one of the safest and most quiet neighborhoods in all of Detroit. We are only a mile from city center and most attractions. My reviews tend to be all 5 stars except sometimes we fall short in "location". I attribute this to guests being unfamiliar with Detroit, so I am trying to give a more detailed background of the nature of our city.

  • Great, safe location. George was amazing with communication. His home was exactly as described. Very nice shower and towels too!

    Nate2017-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • George was a great host and his place was awesome! Being a Detroit native, I was delighted to come back and stay so close to the heart of the city. Keep in mind, Detroit has graffiti and decay visible no matter where you stay. However, George's street is full of beautiful historic well-kept colonials! The house is secure and I felt safe from arrival to departure. I was very pleased and impressed overall. A quick 5 minute drive to Campus Martius and Corktown was perfect for my guest and I. We will be back!

    Kay2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful and we found so much to do from the Eastern Market, great Jazz at Cliff Bells and an amazing tour of the Fisher Building through Pure Detroit.

  • Everything about our stay in Detroit was fabulous. The Woodbridge neighborhood was quiet and quaint, and centrally located to everything we wanted to do. We never met George in person, but he was quick to respond to messages if we had any questions. The house was perfectly sized and well-maintained. The only reason I wouldn't end up renting from George again is if we end up buying our own home there. We want to go back every year!

One of the most beautiful homes on Airbnb. This is a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom historic home in one of the most beautiful, one of a kind neighborhood of Detroit. Woodbridge is in Midtown, and a mile from most of Detroit's finest sights, art, and stadiums. My wife and I are in Greece for at least six months helping refugees and your stay is our only revenue keeping us there. Thank you! Note on Cleaning Fee: There is a group that help maintain the place. It goes to them to support a living wage.
This is a great 4000 sq/ft three story single family home. Very spacious with tons of light. All the bedrooms have great closet space and two rooms have en suite full baths.
  • What a find! George makes you feel right at home in this beautiful (and huge) house. Fairly central location, only 5-10 minutes to downtown, the Eastern Market, Corktown, etc. The beds were great and he even provided us with a pack and play for our little boy. Woodbridge is a little gem of a neighbourhood. As Canadians who haven't experienced many Fourth of July celebrations, we were shocked at the number of fireworks the locals were lighting off, but it was all in good fun. Even the rowdy party next door was completely quiet by 2 am and cleaned up in the morning. Detroiters - you know how to party it up right. Too bad all of us young parents hit the hay by 11. Will definitely look to stay here again if we come down for another Tigers game!

  • George's house was beautiful and spacious! We only stayed there one night but could have had a much longer stay. Lovely furnishings, comfortable beds and easy access to downtown. I had a small problem getting the door open intitially (it sticks a little) but called George and he walked me through it. Would be happy to stay here again on my next trip to Detroit.

  • Staying at George's home was a terrific experience! The home is located in a area that is so accessible to downtown Detroit and so much more. It was was comfortable and included everything that we needed. As an old home junkie I can tell you the woodwork and floors were great and the décor was generally awesome. George was super easy to work with and we would rent from him again in a heartbeat.

  • Nothing but love.... George was the sweetest host 4 girls looking for adventure could ask for. The house is set in a lovely family neighborhood perfect for a quiet retreat, yet only 10 minutes in any direction from the nightlife and museums. Each and every room has its own theme and flair while keeping the houses old bones intact. The house comes with a great guide to the city, read it! George was gracious enough to tell us what we must see and why. His love for Detroit comes through in every story and recommendation. Book it now, 'cause we will be coming back!

  • The house is huge, beautiful, clean, and full of character. Our host was incredibly flexible in accepting a last-minute reservation, and was more than happy to meet us at the time of our choosing. The Woodbridge neighborhood is one of the most beautiful in the city as well. I'll definitely stay here again on future trips. (Only a four-star review because I didn't do anything but sleep here.)

  • George is a very accommodating host. He made us feel welcome and was attentive and accessible. The property is a clean and tidy old house with tons of charm. We immediately felt at home. Centrally located in a great neighborhood, we were able to to get around the city very easily. Having a Whole Foods less than a mile away is a big bonus. Affordable and comfortable, we can't wait to stay here again when our plans take us to Detroit. We highly recommend!

  • This place was absolutely remarkable. Upon entering the home, we were blown away by its decor and overall look. I visited this home with a group of photographers. It was satisfying taking photos of this place both inside and out. SAFE! CLEAN! GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD!

  • A safe, comfortable space with lots of room for a family or friends weekend. Very clean and well stocked for a relaxing stay. It is a big house so it doesn’t cool down quickly on hot days but they offer lots of fans! Would definitely stay here again.

  • This is a nice place in a great location. Jeremy was very available and helpful.

  • Jeremy's place was great!! The perfect private townhouse while I was there for work, I felt like I had my own apartment. The bed is really comfy, the whole place is spotless and newly furnished and it's literally right around the block from the DIA and area museums. Jeremy was so responsive and really helpful- I even left my laptop plug there and he went the extra mile to mail it back to me!! I'll definitely stay there again.

  • Had a great stay at Jeremy’s place. The accommodations were incredibly clean and Jeremy was a very responsive host. Highlights included convenient location to highways and transit, secured garage parking, and good floor plan for 2-3 people. Fantastic value. Would highly recommend!

  • Jeremy was a great host! Extremely communicative, responsive, and had no problem accommodating check-in time. The apartment was comfortable and clean. Located in the heart of midtown, it was easy to walk around and see the sites. There were many nice bars and restaurants nearby as well. Will definitely see if Jeremy's place is available if I'm ever back in Detroit!

  • This was my first time using air bnb and we had a great experience. It was perfect for an overnight girls getaway. We were a short 3-5 minute walk to the Qline which made venturing into Detroit great since we didnt have to pay for parking. Any questions we had were answered quickly. We would definately stay here again.

This is our home, but my wife and I are volunteering with the YMCA trying to help the refugee crisis in Greece for a minimum of six months. Your stay is our source of funds keeping us there, and we thank you! Original details and a historic beauty. Super clean! Backyard, deck, close to DIA, Downtown, Stadiums, Midtown. About the Cleaning Fee: I get none of this amount. There is a neighborhood group of three that help maintain the place. All cleaning fees are a living wage that goes to them.
This house is our home, and you will love it. Very clean, with great detail. Some furnishing will change once we move out, but the aesthetics and the quality will be the same. Pool room is separate if desired.

This was a beautiful, beautiful home in a great location. George was like a fairy godmother/godfather host that made just what we need seemingly miraculously appear out of thin air when we weren't looking! We had decided to use the bedroom with the king bed, and a comforter and cover where waiting for us after we went for a walk!

It was a great stay at Stephens house. It is very close to Downtown of Royal Oak and it has a nice garden with a grill and we enjoyed the BBQ in the evening. He an Andrew gave us a very warm welcome.
