Just booked in Detroit

Just booked in Detroit
Walk to Belle Isle, 6 min drive to downtown! A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations. I've been a contributing author to Wildsam Field Guides, an eclectic guidebook publisher, and have great recommendations for most cravings in this unique city.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots: https://www.airbnb.com/users/6405993/listings This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • Had a great (Email hidden by Airbnb) fortable space that was well accommodated and stocked with everything you would need plus some fresh food and drink extras! Thane was around to greet our arrival and give city tips. Very easy access to park and the River Walk and not far from Downtown convenience. Kind of place you'd want to live and would stay again if in Detroit!

    William2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay with Thane. We were looking for an authentic loft experience on the river and found exactly what we were looking for. The proximity to Belle Isle was an added bonus!

  • Hip, up-and-coming place. Neighborhood is interesting: lots of new, high-end development one block west, run down section one block east.

  • Thank is have a great ans beautiful place , warm and comfortable. That is the perfect place for a trip on Détroit

  • I really enjoyed my stay. I hadn't been to Detroit for a number of years and was delighted at the city now. This apartment is bright and airy with a view of the river and Belle Isle. It's simple and comfortable. The river walk right outside goes on for miles. The neighborhood felt very safe. My daughter loved the place. I liked how the place woke up to the morning sun and I especially enjoyed reveille from the Coast Guard base. I guess MoTown has become a destination.

    Thomas2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • The place was really cool. It was right across the street from the river. The owners are realy nice. I recommend this place. The only downside is you can hear everything.

    Jack2017-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • There are no enough good words I could put together. Still cannot believe I’ve got lucky with this pure gem! The place is so wonderful, totally safe, phenomenally artistic, though absolutely utility-wise convenient. Everything is where it needs to be and it’s hard to come up with what is missing. Space inside is a soul-healing well-thought and highly inspiring – what a views from the windows! Parking outside the lot (on the street) is totally safe too – confirmed by two nights. Ah, about hearing neighbors fact. I am living in a condo and, quite frankly, a number of sounds not that much less than at this appt... But if you are used to up-scale experiences might not be the best place as an outside-of-apartment stairways and such are pretty basic. But scenic beyond imagination! And people are very nice to each other and actually talking and trying to be helpful. Just at arrival, the neighbor alerted me from parking mistake which local cops are very hang up on. Saved a ticket! The place matches pictures and description 100%. Very close to downtown and no doubt worth to be at. Check In/Check Out - sharp, you are backed up with notifications and have a plan B for all the time you are there.

  • What a gorgeous loft! I was slightly apprehensive when i pulled into the listing as the exterior looked a little run down but all concerns were allayed inside. The listing description was exactly as it's depicted - open, spacious and gorgeous. Key pick up and loft overview went extremely smoothly. Thane has an AMAZING list of stuff to see / eat / do in Detroit that i recommend asking for - definitely referred to it several times. All amenities were set up - the wifi would freeze once in awhile but nothing major. It is a true warehouse loft - so be prepared to hear the neighbors, but not in a disruptive fashion by any stretch! Beautiful place, wonderful host, definitely recommend.

A beautiful, open, airy loft space housed within a completely renovated 1926 industrial building. Centrally located on Woodward Avenue, steps away from the Amsterdam stop of the newly-installed QLINE in New Center. Hop on, and be anywhere you'd like in New Center, Midtown, or Downtown in minutes. Relax, you're home.
This is a modern loft apartment housed within a completely renovated 1926 building that originally housed graphic artists for General Motors, and other companies. Designed by famed-Detroit architect Albert Kahn, you'll notice the signature art-deco front-facade and incredible lobby of the building. All the character of the loft is still intact, from the concrete floors, brick exterior wall, and the mushroom columns Albert Kahn was known for. Home includes a large kitchen, front load washer and dryer, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. This building is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in the city. Kitchen includes gas stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days. You'll find a single bedroom (this was originally a studio unit, but has been converted into a completely-walled one bedroom unit). Beautifully comfortable queen bed, small dresser, and chair. The main bathroom includes a subway tile shower/tub, sink, and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect. Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The living room includes a couch (can be used for extra sleeping space, but isn't a pull-out), coffee table, and two chairs. 50" HDTV is hooked up to an Apple TV with Netflix. Outdoor space includes a small patio (which you'll enter from) with two bistro chairs and table. Enjoy the sunny back-alley of the building with a drink of your choice from the fridge. Local spots within walking/biking distance include the incredibly beautiful art-deco Fisher and Albert Kahn buildings; Midtown Shopping (Shinola, Willys, Nora, Hugh, Carhartt, Fellow Barber, City Bird, Nest, and more); the mid-century gardens and campus at Wayne State, and more. Local attractions include the city and public art, Belle Isle with its beaches, waterpark, Albert Kahn designed conservatory and aquarium, and trails. The world is your oyster. Restaurants nearby including fast food, Northern Lights Lounge, Falafill, Dangerously Delicious Pies, City Wings, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin, and more. The loft is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication. Taking photos during your stay? Make sure you #thatdetroitloft.
Awesome location right on Woodward at the Midtown/New Center border. Just a few blocks either way to a ridiculous amount of inspiration, character, activities, and restaurants. Take in the Detroit Institute of Arts, or check out the art-deco skyscrapers of New Center.

  • Great apartment close to everything! Jesse was very helpful and a gracious host.

    Joseph2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Solid, beautiful loft space with tasteful decor. The host was very helpful and supportive via communications. The location is busy and central, but the loft itself is quiet and comfortable. It was a great environment to get work done, which I had to do on this trip.

  • This place is fantastic! Jesse is a great host as well. Highly recommend booking this loft!

  • Jesse's apartment is great. Well located, very well furnished and agreeable to stay in. Jesse has nicely offered to help with anything we needed during our stay in Detroit. We had a great time. And would definitely consider his place again should we come back to Detroit, which hopefully we will!

Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to fax ,copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • I LOVE this place. Second time I've been there. I've stayed in several Detroit Airbnbs and this is the best ever. Very nice large clean space with a great aesthetic and a good location. Highly recommended.

    David2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Zac & Renee's place is wonderful. I greatly enjoyed my stay. The space is very clean, nicely decorated, centrally located, and safe. Zac & Renee were very responsive and accommodating. I look forward to staying here again the next time I visit Detroit.

    Ericka2018-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Quiet and clean, and in a safe neighborhood -- and with a friendly cat hanging around to greet you outside.

    Kevin2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our weekend at Zac and Renee's beautiful apartment. It was clean, comfortable, and a quick drive to everywhere we wanted to go in Detroit. We would definitely stay again!

    Jen2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • This home is beautiful. I would not hesitate to stay there again, or to teccommend it to others.

    Paulette2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful space Zac and Renee have! The apartment is welcoming, inviting and spacious. The location is near downtown and close to many of my family members. The next time I'm in Detroit I will stay again. Zac and Renee were quick to respond to my messages and set the bar for all other Airbnbs as this was my first time. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this apartment to everyone.

    DAndre2016-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I felt so incredibly welcome when I came to this beautiful home. I was only staying in Detroit for one day and I lucked out with this listing. I had tons of luggage with me and Zac warmly welcomed me as soon as I came out the parking spot (which was right outside the door)! He and a colleague helped me lug my overweight luggage up the flight into the breath-taking space. I truly will never forget this experience. The design of this house is exquisite and so incredibly homey, cheery, inspiring and bright. The area is a Detroit gem and this whole experience made me fall deeply in love with the Motor City again! I also ran into Renee in the neighborhood and she is the kindest person! Highly recommended!

Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historical neighborhood that's also at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans—much of which is also for sale. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.
  • Meghan's Corktown Inn is the perfect to stay while visiting Detroit. It is in a very trendy neighborhood, really close to Downtown. The apartment is large with a lot of open space and perfectly decorated. We highly recommend going to Slows BBQ and Astro coffee which are just downstairs. We would to go back and stay at Honor and Folly again. We highly recommend to anyone who is visiting Detroit.

    Aude2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Once again, our stay was nothing short of incredible. The place is every bit as beautiful as the pictures and located in the perfect place. Slows BBQ is just below and has the best BBQ in town. Also, right next door Astro's coffee is the great with wine bars and other food within walking distance. Overall, if you like good food and a place that feels like home, there's no better place to stay in Detroit.

    Clarence2014-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at "Design-Focused Corktown Inn" was a delight! The location was perfect for all the moving around of the city that we did during our stay. The loft itself is beautiful, comfortable and well-appointed. The neighborhood - with the restaurants, coffee shop and bars nearby - was great.

    Susan2014-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The reviews for Meghan's place do not lie! This place is really something else and exceeded our expectations. Our family stayed 2 nights over Christmas and we were so happy with our stay. The place was well-located, spacious, great for cooking and very cozy. Decor was great and the place was fully stocked (not just the kitchen, but she had everything...tape, scissors, maps, etc!) Meghan was a great host (We communicated through air bnb and through text messages). She was very fast to communicate about any questions we had and the fact that the place has a "punch-in" lock system made it easy for us to come and go without having to meet-up to exchange keys. Would definitely stay here again and would be fun to visit during summer months to take advantage of the patio!

    Akua2014-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place

    Richard2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Honor & Folly made our visit in Detriot! In the center of one of the most exciting hubs in the city, Corktown, this loft is cozy, utilitarian and industrious, sweet, modern and midwestern all at once. You are in the perfect location for exploring Detroit. Eat at Slow's, Katoi, Mercury Bar and Gold Cash Cold, get coffee at Astros, shop for Vintage at El Dorado and Mama Koos. Buy a slice of pie from Sister Pie at The Farmer's Hand. Explore midtown, downtown and Eastern Market with a short uber ride from the loft and check out the abandoned Michigan Station, just a short walk away from the loft. Meghan and Maia were great at communicating and gracious in their recommendations and help. I always enjoy staying at new places each time I visit a city but I think I'll break that rule and stay at Honor & Folly every time.

    Brittney2016-12-11T00:00:00Z

  • This loft was a great place to stay for a long weekend. Especially enjoyed the views from the roof balcony - and the endless vistas of the railroad tracks, old warehouses, and surrounding neighborhoods. Kyle was a communicative and friendly host, quick to reply with anything amiss -- but gave us plenty of room to make ourselves at home. The unit is large, well equipped with cooking supplies and plenty of towels and linens. Comfy, trendy, and just as pictured. Centrally located, we could get a Lyft in minutes to anywhere downtown for ~10$. A couple things to note : the loft is a large, open plan loft - if you are coming with other folks, know that you will hear everyone all the time as all rooms have open walls into the main space. Additionally, there are no curtains - so if you are a light sleeper, it might be best to pack a mask for your eyes, or simply be ready to wake with the sun and enjoy the early starts in Motor City. Lastly, there is a neat, eclectic event space across the alley - if you don't go an join in on the fun yourself, you might have a DJ playing tunes late into the night!

    Liza2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place, and Kyle is an out-of-this-world host! I reserved Kyle's place for a group that I manage that was in town for an event. The place was perfect for them. Plus Kyle is an amazing host. He cares about the experience of his Airbnb-ers. He also goes above and beyond -- when we needed an extra bed he was quick to drop off an air mattress and linens. Highly recommend!

    Vanessa2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Had the most amazing stay at Kyle's loft! Everything was just as pictured and actually even better than we anticipated. Easy check in, parking was great (parking on the street was actually more convenient than parking in the back of the lofts). More than enough space for my few friends and I. The place was very clean and even provided Dove body wash in the showers which we all personally thought was a cool touch. Also the deck on the roof was a great surprise. Definitely will stay again and would recommend to everyone!! Only negative was the lack of lighting in the living room/kitchen area after sun down. A couple lamps were provided but didn't really give off much light. Unless you plan on cooking in the evening no big deal at all. Just something we weren't a fan of.

    Morgan2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with a group of friends for a Hamtramck pub crawl and Detroit FC. The place had everything we needed including a super comfortable sleeping couch. Very hip loft condo. Everything was a described. We really appreciated how quickly our texts/questions were answered. Hope to stay again in the future!

    Sonja2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely huge place to stay at. It was myself and one other guest & there was still loads and loads of room. Definitely going to be looking at a group booking!

    Dakota2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • These lofts, y'all. They're somehow even more impressive and spacious and full of great light in person than in the photos. We were traveling in a pack of 12 friends and this space (+ the unit next door) was perfect for us to hang out, eat cake, listen to music, and nap between brunch and bars without bugging each other one bit. Sunsets from the roof, parties at the warehouse next door, snacks and drinks from the gas station across the street - I'm kinda bummed I'm not still there. And the hosts! So helpful and nice and ready to provide whatever we needed. Sleeping arrangements for such a big group could easily have been a nightmare, but they gave us easy options that turned out perfect. Added bonus: the beds are super comfortable and there's pretty good pressure in the showers.

    Rebecca2016-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, awesome instructions, and good amenities. Unfortunately, however, all marred by the wifi going out during our first night. I contacted the host several times through airbnb, text, and even by phone, but never received a response. The wifi was never fixed.

    Sam2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Third time staying at this location, love the renovations done with the place. Had a great time, will continue staying here in the future! I would recommend this loft for anyone looking to stay in Detroit.

Fresh Gothic-Victorian nearby the Museum of African American History, Wayne State, Third Man Records, Shinola. Sfumato Fragrances NOW OPEN in the garden level, perfume shop and low-key scented cocktail bar (search for the latest Lonely Planet article). Selden Standard across the street. 9 min walk to QLINE (approx 10 min to Downtown on the streetcar). 10 min walk to U of M Ann Arbor shuttle bus. MoGo bike rental 1 block away. Rocket Fiber gigabit internet speed. Sonos controls in wall speakers.
This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. The space can definitely accommodate 3-4 people, but it’ll be cozy (i.e., it’s a Studio). There is ample closet space, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a private bathroom. The space gets great light. In addition to the low-key cocktail bar in the garden level, Detroit Clothing Circle clothing shop downstairs offers curated racks of clothing with styles that won't blend in with the herd.
We have a great location in Midtown Detroit, many great bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. Popular nearby attractions include the DIA, MOCAD, Chartreuse, Jolly Pumpkin, Hop Cat, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Coffee and Whole Foods.
  • Location was superb, the place was great and just what I needed. I was able to walk to everything I needed and the leather store across the street is amazing. will stay again for sure!!!

  • Sarah was quick to respond to emails which is always helpful! The keyless entry was wonderful and does away with the trouble of meet up times and lock outs. The house was simple but very clean and we felt safe in the area.

  • Lovely studio filled with light in the heart of Detroit. (Seriously: The pictures don't do it justice.) Safe, clean, and close to everything. You can walk to bars, coffee, restaurants, and museums. (I'd recommend getting a bike if the weather is right—Detroit is best explored on two wheels.) And we had no problem getting an Uber when we wanted to go elsewhere in the city. This is the perfect spot for a weekend in Detroit. Sarah was super quick to respond to any questions we had and made our trip smooth and easy. We'll be back again soon!

  • This space is lovely! I own Detroit Yoga Lab and have my international teachers stay here, it's a great location in Midtown Detroit and my guests love staying here. They were super easy to work with and everything was great!

I always forget little things like shampoo or Kleenex so it was lovely to find that these details were covered. Too bad about the very loud frat party across the street that ran into the wee hours on Friday night but my guess is its an infrequent occurrence and we just got unlucky.

    Tara2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • As usual, Sarah's place is fantastic. Perfectly located and really comfortable. I will definitely be back.

  • Another great stay at Jacqueline's Midtown place! Very comfortable place when I'm in Detroit on business. Definitely the nicest of all of the Airbnb places in Detroit that I've stayed. Highly recommend!

My husband, Matt, and I have a lovely flat in Hamtramck that has been restored to its original 1920s charm. Our style is intentional and warm, and decorations include things that we have collected through the years that have meaning to us. Equipped with a queen size bed in a spacious bedroom it is perfect for a couple or close friends! There’s plenty of room for an air mattress too. The living room has a couch, eating table, chair, and bar with stools for enjoying food and beverages. We provide a TV with Netflix access, games, and books for when you feel like relaxing after a long day of hanging out in the city. The brightness and vintage style of the kitchen will warm your heart. You will love cooking in this space, not to mention you will be provided with any cooking supplies you need. Lastly, the bathroom is large and clean with a vintage claw foot tub for a tranquil bath or shower. For longer stays, you are welcome to our washer and dryer in the basement.
Hamtramck is touted as ‘The World in 2 Square Miles.’ Located directly in the center of Detroit, it is a diverse city that has its roots in the rise of the auto industry. Anyone who loves history will appreciate the beauty and architecture that still exists in Detroit and Hamtramck. Originally a hub for Polish immigrants Hamtramck has maintained its eastern European flair and guests will find excellent Polish restaurants, markets with delicious pierogi, keilbasa, and stuffed cabbage along with a Polish Art Center equipped with treasured artifacts and souvenirs. Hamtramck also has some excellent Bengali, Indian, Iraqi and Yemeni food! • Matthew and Meredith were great hosts! We had a really fun weekend in Detroit, staying at their place. They were very communicative and easy to reach and were able to welcome us when we arrived. They shared a great, detailed list of recommendations of things to do, places to see, and local restaurants and cafes which was an awesome guide to Hamtramck and Detroit. The apartment itself is lovely - very spacious, clean, and comfortable - and Hamtramck is a vibrant, interesting neighbourhood. I highly recommend them and would totally stay with them again the next time I'm in Detroit!

    Michael2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The flat above Matt and Meredith's home is adorable. There are so many interesting and fun touches to their renovations. There were ample toiletries and kitchen supplies. It was very homey and unique. We enjoyed our brief overnight stay and chose to just have drinks and dinner there as opposed to going out because it was so charming and comfortable. I would recommend the home to anyone staying in the area for an overnight getaway or an extended stay.

    Jackie2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Hamtramck, and would highly recommend this place! They've done a beautiful job with the renovations, just the right mix of retro and eco and comfort. The shower was delightful, lots of lovely hair products, and the bed was very comfortable. Matthew couldn't have been nicer and he gave us great recommendations for enjoying the city. We liked the neighborhood and felt very safe there, and enjoyed our walk around on our way to dinner. We hope to stay there again on another Detroit weekend!

    Beth2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Karina2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is so cute! Matthew and Meredith did all the renovating and decorating themselves—an interesting historical account of the house accompanies the space. There is ample street parking; we found a spot right in front of the house the first evening we stayed. The place is in a really unique location in Detroit—very diverse, with lots of food options and quick access to interstates and downtown Detroit. It's a gem—we look forward to returning soon!

    Alli2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the apartment and neighborhood. Hosts were very kind and responsive. Would definitely stay here again!

    Dana2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Matt made sure to be present at our arrival and showed us all round. He was also available and communicative through the stay which was so comfortable in an airy and well-stocked apartment. High points included better than average mattress/pillows and the best "getting ready" bathroom (large and beautiful with good lighting). There was also a yummy bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge, and a hand-drawn map of the neighbourhood outlining the safe perimeter of the neighbourhood. We also appreciated the air conditioner. There are tons of bath and body products available as well as kitchen supplies and ingredients that we didn't make use of but other guests are sure to enjoy. It's clear that a lot of thought went in to the guest experience and this was undoubtedly one of the best stays either of us have had while travelling. Thanks a bunch, Matt and Meredith, we highly recommend your place.

    Margaret2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew and Meredith are thoughtful hosts! Check in is seamless, the space is well equipped with Detroit themed reading, coffee and tea, clean linens, and toiletries. It’s just as aesthetically pleasing as the pictures suggest. Hamtramck is a really fascinating neighborhood and has excellent takeout food options. Highly recommend!

Few minutes to Caesar's Casino and downtown You are a few minutes ' walk of the Detroit Riverside Park。 My listings close to nightlife, public transport, suitable for family activities. Because of location, landscape, and you will fall in love with my listings. My houses are ideal for couples, solo travelers adventure, business travellers, families with young children.
The house is composed of four old Winsor apartments, located in a very quiet old quarter. Between the four apartments is very independent. The house is a bit old but beautiful, and you live in a house that will make you feel back to the past of Winsor.
You live in this house, you will be very surprised. Close to the bar and a few minutes to the city center. Going out is shops, groceries and restaurants. Block bus, a minute is the station. The most important thing is to get through the Detroit Tunnel. 5 minutes' walk to the casino and Detroit riverside park.
  • Great location close to the local food/hipster locations. Great place to spend the night before jumping on a train!

  • Great spot close to the river and really cute- new paint and furniture! The android box wasn't working- we were able to connect to our own Netflix. Loved that there was coffee and attention to details- new Linens and condiments. Would love to return. only concern was the noisy heat woke us up everytime it came on.

  • This apartment was very clean and kept up well. The host provided bottled water in the fridge as well as tea and coffee making supplies. The host was also quick to respond to any questions or concerns. The apartment is located near major streets, but a little too far to walk to the downtown area (but easy to get to downtown area by car).

Located at the intersection of Lafayette Park, home to the world's largest collection of Mies Van der Rohe architecture, and Eastern Market, North America's largest open air food market.
  • The room was clean and close to a wedding we attended. Walking distance to Eastern Market, excellent! The radiator in this unit is on and cannot be adjusted or turned off. When we arrived, our room was about 85F (in October). An air conditioner unit in our room on full blast can get the room down to about 80F. A box fan was left behind and the second night we opened the window and used it on high to bring in cool air. After our stay we looked through previous reviews and have found other complaints about this. The host's responses were typically very prompt, but dismissive regarding this issue. This has clearly been a problem in the past for your guests and will continue to be a problem until you fix the radiator. We won't be staying here again

    Ben2016-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • This location is so great, with quick access to Eastern Market, several restaurants on Gratiot, and generally centrally located for getting to other areas of the city. The setup is great - like a hotel room with extra conveniences, including secured parking, wifi, a little kitchen, plenty of room for luggage, security at the front desk...there was even a dongle and HDMI cable for hooking my computer to the TV. There's no cable, but with the wifi we were able to stream movies through my computer. The hosts are wonderful and attentive. They checked in to make sure we had everything we needed with reminders for the check out process.

    Mohamed2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is lovely and spacious, it is an old building but nicely finished with a quirky charm and has excellent AC, (it was in the mid 30c and extremely comfortable). It is located close to an area with diverse restaurants and shops. There was a nice size TV but it had no cable or antenna therefore no channels, however the wifi was excellent and fortunately I had my laptop. We definitely will be staying here again as it is an excellent value and very close to our daughters place.

My Studio is a few minute drive/Uber to downtown Royal Oak & Ferndale -Mark Ridley's Comedy Club, Go! Comedy Improv, Magic Bag, Rust Belt Market & 10 minutes to downtown Detroit- Casinos, LCA, Comerica Park...You’ll love my studio because of the coziness, amenities & unique decor -but most of all the proximity to the best eating, shopping, nightlife & entertainment. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, & pets. If unavailable look for Charming Studio #2 on Airbnb.
My place is walking distance to both downtown Royal and Ferndale, also minutes drive to downtown Detroit. You'll love my place because of the coziness, light, comfy bed/amenities but most of all the proximity to the best eating, shopping, nightlife & entertainment. Quaint decor and an overall "homey" feeling, with a touch of artistic flair, in a central location that offers great access to metro Detroit's most active neighborhoods.
I love getting brunch at Toast, then strolling through the Rust Belt Market, and grabbing a cup of coffee afterwards at Atomic in Royal Oak. Most weekends you can find me at one of the local festivals going on in Royal Oak or Ferndale and/or hanging out at either Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle or the Go! Comedy Improv to catch a show and laugh it up. Great proximity to casinos & clubs if partying downtown, a ton of amazing pubs & farm-to-table style restaurants and other such "foodie's" delights, as well as any sports fans attending home games at Comerica Park, Ford Field, & the new Little Caesars Arena!
  • Great small place. Has everything you need for 1 or 2 people. It's close to plenty of places that popular.

    Michael2018-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Megan was an excellent host and probably one of the cutest and comfortable homes I have stayed in. I was able to check in a few minutes early to accommodate for an appointment I needed to make. If you are unfamiliar with Metro Detroit, just know this studio is in the perfect location to get ANYWHERE within a 20 minute drive or less. The location was perfect for my plans in Ferndale, Sterling Heights, Pontiac, and Detroit. I would stay here over and over again. The only downfall (which I didn't personally mind) was being so close to the freeway, you would get a few honks or loud cars anytime of day/night but the location, cleanliness, and overall great stay outweighed the slight noise.

    Briana2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had some trouble finding key to get into place so that was frustrating and walked into linen piled up on bed and dirty towels on washer so that made us feel a little uneasy. Otherwise she had information laid out for all the internet/wifi info, tv functions and things to do before leaving the place. Also had some maps and pamphlets about things to do around Detroit for tourists which was nice. Missed the turn to get to place at first because driveway was covered with leaves so didn't notice that that was our entry but after we figured it out it was very easy to come and go from. It is right off a main road so could hear the traffic outside a bit. Very cute, quaint little place. Perfect for a couple staying for a couple of nights.

  • Great place! Very clean! Write off of 10 mile road though which is a very busy street next to the freeway.

    Caitlin2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place and easy to find! Right off the freeway so traffic can get a bit noisy. Perfect stay for two people. Nice amenities!

    Melanie2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Megan was wonderful. Very responsive to messages. Amenities were over-the-top, amazing! She had just about anything you could possibly need in the bathroom. There was food in the fridge up for grabs. She really thought of everything. The place smelled wonderful. The décor was very up-to-date. The only down-side to the place was the noise from the highway. But, I saw that in previous views. So, we were prepared for that. And honestly, it didn't bother me that much. You kind of get used to it. I would absolutely book this place again.

Sunny, cozy and serene. Right off of Jefferson Ave and Detroit’s Riverwalk. The perfect retreat with a gorgeous view of the Detroit River and only a 5-minute drive to downtown! Just a few blocks from Belle Isle Park with a beautiful view of the river. Ample and safe parking for all guests. The newly renovated Mt. Elliot Park directly across the street provides for a safe and family friendly environment for a stroll.
The building stays true to Detroit's cultural history as it is rustic and once used by manufacturers. Turned into an artist's loft space, the living space features exposed red brick throughout. Interior decor is boho-chic meets Moroccan themes. Souvenirs from my travels to Asia, Africa, and the middle east also fill the space. Coffee and cereal included.
The neighborhood is very safe. The apartment building is directly on the Detroit River Front, which it should be noted that the River Front has completely been renovated and truly family friendly. A Walgreens is directly across the street as well as a gas station on the corner. Getting around is fairly easy. Most restaurants and cafes are within a 5-10 minute driving distance.
  • Cool place, good location to be close to everything, great view. Walls are pretty thin though, so be prepared to hear the neighbors. Semira was great and we overall had a wonderful stay.

Adventurers welcome! Stay here & help fund our renovation work as we bring this abandoned 20's mansion back to life! House is RUSTIC & a WORK IN PROGRESS. Private room is restored with original features. Lockable Room Door, King bed with Foam Mattress, Mini Fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker. Shared bathroom, kitchen & common area. We host other travelers too so expect community vibe! 5-15 mins bike to most top attractions. Perfect for biking explorers.
This spacious private room is restored to its original state and comfortably furnished. It has a nice king memory foam bed (Size: 76 in x 80 in). The room also comes with convenient amenities like coffee maker, microwave and a mini fridge. The room door is lockable. We currently have 3 bathrooms shared in the house. Since other travelers and our international volunteers helping us will be staying under the same roof and sharing the same bathroom / kitchen / lounge, the space will have a strong community vibe. Expect to meet cool people from all around. We’ve made lots of friends while traveling and staying in this type of shared environment and we love it. :) With that being said, if you require more privacy, this is probably not the best place for you but most guests see it as a great way to meet people and embrace the community vibe as part of the adventure.
Our house is just up from Belle Isle on the same street! We're close to Eastern Market to our north west and West Village / Indian Village to our south east. Straight shot over to Downtown / Midtown and most top attractions are within 3 miles. A lot of homes in this area are being revitalized right now but there are still a lot of work to be done and you'll probably see some blighted houses nearby. If you want some more info about neighborhoods or places to check out please let us know! We have an extensive travel guide we put together for our guests.
  • Cuarto grande, cómodo, con muchos accesorios de servicio, la entrada a la casa muy oscura.

    Alex2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nice room, with good amount of space. During my visit the building was under construction, as soon as this is done it would be even better!

    Vincent2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed in room G1 while we were in Detroit for Movement. Everything described in the listing is totally accurate! The rest of the house is definitely undergoing renovations, but any jobs are cleaned up by the end of the day and don’t interfere with any amenities. The room itself was clean and neatly made up for us, not at all a part of the reno. Jen and Alex were also able to accommodate an early check in for us, and answered every question we had promptly and with clarity. It was a welcoming change of pace to return home to a residential neighbourhood after all the events we hustled to get to for the festival. Loved our king sized bed, loved the people and places of Detroit.

    Leyla2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best experiences I've ever had in Detroit. It has a wonderful communal vibe, you can talk and hang out with other travelers! The place was clean and cozy. You can tell its still under reno (obviously they state it!), but even with that going in its still an incredibly beautiful home. Amazing price, amazing house, amazing hosts. Can't wait to stay again, thank you!

    Meghan2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Did the job for the price. Fast WiFi. Clean bedroom. Rest of house was a mess due to renovation. Keypad made entry easy. Wouldn’t take a first date here. Would recommend for one nighters on business. Parking was easy.

    Shane2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • I love staying at this place. This stay; however, there were contractors working through the night trying to get the upstairs bedrooms finished before Movement, so, it was very noisy and impossible to get much sleep.

    Jennifer2018-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • It’s in a quiet neighborhood relatively close to the downtown area and was a solid fit for our needs. The shower was warm, bed was extremely comfortable, and keyless entry made access convenient. Would recommend to anyone.

    Kris2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what I was looking for. The bedroom was large, clean, and extremely comfortable. Check-in was super easy (house and the individual bedrooms both have keypad access for security and convenience). Just be aware that the house is still being renovated (think dusty hallway floors and exposed outlets) and has a "hostel" feel to it. One shower for the entire first floor (3+ bedrooms?) so definitely bring a pair of plastic sandals. Perfect for the experienced low-budget traveler.

Feel the industrial vibes of Detroit in this gorgeous loft, located in a 1920's automotive factory. Some features like the wood floors and pillars are all original. It also has exposed brick, and tall windows letting the sun shine through. Located in a quiet, industrial area 3-8 minute drive to Midtown, Eastern Market, Hamtramck and Downtown. 1 mile to Q line and very bike friendly as you can get to many places easily!
This industrial boho loft is clean, comfy and ideal for couples, larger groups, and individuals too. Great A/C New better WiFi Fully equipped kitchen Private entrance in the parking lot Sleeping arrangements: Full size super comfy Sealy posturepedic mattress Sofa- for 1 (not too tall) Twin bed Please select the amount of guests you will be so that I can provide bed sheets and towels accordingly.
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants ~ The loft is located in an old industrial and unique neighborhood. Many of the plots and buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens and music venues. The area is safe, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eary to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.
  • BEAUTIFUL home. My friends and I had heavy hearts when we had to leave. Feels very warm, comfortable, and lived in.

  • When you think about finding a place to just unwind and relax...This is exactly it. The place is beautiful and you instantly feel at peace the when you walk in through the doors. Really, thank you so much Georgia for your hospitality <3

    Pilar2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely stay. The place was clean and exactly what I expected. When We got there we first got lost because it is tucked away. but once you find it it is what I expected it would be. It did get hot but we opened the windows like suggested and it seemed to work for most of the night. Thank you!

    JoLyn2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • I just couldn’t get over how cool the place was! It felt like I had my very own bohemian loft!

    Chelsea2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The good: Georgia's place is adorable, and she very much succeed at creating the vibe that she advertises. The swing was my favorite part of the whole stay. The place is very close to downtown, although there were some drawbacks to the location (later listed). Check in was also a breeze, dealing with Georgia was fantastic. Also, the parking situation was quite nice, georgia even left a clicker for their gate for us to use. The bad: The heat!!!! This was by far our biggest complaint, and the main reason we had a bad time at Georgia's place. We thought that we were hardy enough to endure the conditions Georgia described; we were wrong. They were worse than we imagined by far. It seemed to be 100° when the heat was on and for a while afterwards, and late at night I would wake up shivering as a window needed to stay open to keep us from panting from the heat. Also, the sound of the heat turning on at 6am each morning was loud, it shook the floor almost knocking one of our glasses off of the end table and scaring me out of my sleep. On top of this the apartment had a few ants. Finally, the location proved to be quite an inconvenience when trying to use apps like uber, the address she gives leads to the end of the driveway and the driver's often got lost or turned around when trying to find the place, and explaining it to each one is inconvenient. Overall, the bad outweighed the good, and this place was not one we would stay in again

  • Aaron's an excellent host - very friendly and very responsive. The place is in an absolutely perfect location. I was there to see a show at the Masonic Temple and it was only a 10 minute over from Aaron's place. It's also just a one minute walk to Little Caesar's arena and to Woodward to catch the QLine or a bus to explore Woodward or Downtown Detroit. It also has excellent driving access in case you have a car. The place is nice and clean with a private half-bath for the guests. The wi-fi and the Firestick TV were very much appreciated too. Thanks!

The bed and pillow were soft and you may enjoy a good night sleep. The self check-in was easy. I would recommend this suite to anyone who are planing to visit Windsor. The price was unbeatable.

Hello! Our home is an 1890 Victorian mansion that we purchased in 2012 and lovingly renovated over three years using a team of local craftspeople and myself. This space is a quirky 1 bedroom, 1 bath garden level loft with much of its original character preserved. Located in the heart of Midtown just one block from 15+ bars and restaurants, DMC, Shinola and way more. The space is designed with leisure stays in mind but also capable of accommodating business travelers comfortably. Parking included
The space features a custom cherry old-growth wood bar along with handbuilt cherry countertops. The bathroom has its own interesting character equipped with the biggest shower I've ever installed as a builder. The apartment is stocked with coffee, has an Apple TV and high-speed WiFi and dart board. The space is equipped with a modern heating system and natural cooling from the original stone walls. It’s very comfortable year round.
Midtown is an exploding, vibrant neighborhood in the center of Detroit. There are so many fantastic bars, shopping opportunities, museums and restaurants within walking distance. The Wayne State Police is highly active and patrols Midtown 24/7 with a fast response rate making Midtown the safest neighborhood in Detroit and one of the safest university campuses in the nation.
  • We had a wonderful stay! We really enjoyed the industrial look and Detroit touches. Such a unique place! The location was great and seemed safe. I would stay again!

Most are a 10-15-min walk or 5-min car ride away. The loft is also super close to downtown, all festivals (e.g., Movement, MoPop) and the Cobo Center (10-15 min walk); The Renaissance Center (RenCen, 6-min drive/27-min walk); and Hart Plaza is a 4-min drive/23-min walk past Rosa Park's old condo and the Detroit Riverwalk (a site of the Underground Railroad).
  • Beautiful spot in a good location, short walk or a cheap uber to most of what Detroit has to offer. Grew to love the neighbourhood even more. Thanks for the great recommendations.

  • I had a great stay in Danielle's loft. The loft is beautiful and Danielle was very helpful! The location is close enough to walk downtown and there are cool things to check out in Corktown too. Would definitely recommend staying here if you can!

    Sara2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Daniell’e’s loft is located less than a 1/2 mile from the river walk, so grab your bike and see Detroit. Be sure to take in Mudgie’s Deli and wine bar, especially if your vegetarian. Close access to downtown and a two block walk to King’s Books. Danielle was very helpful with suggestions of places to eat and things to do!

  • Danielle's place was fabulous! It was exactly what it looked like from the photos! Its super spacious and clean and she has done an amazing job designing the space. • The loft space is great and actually bigger than it appears in the pictures. Danielle's esthetic is very nice with stylish and tasteful decorations. One of the most beautiful homes on Airbnb. This is a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom historic home in one of the most beautiful, one of a kind neighborhood of Detroit. Woodbridge is in Midtown, and a mile from most of Detroit's finest sights, art, and stadiums. My wife and I are in Greece for at least six months helping refugees and your stay is our only revenue keeping us there. Thank you! Note on Cleaning Fee: There is a group that help maintain the place. It goes to them to support a living wage.
This is a great 4000 sq/ft three story single family home. Very spacious with tons of light. All the bedrooms have great closet space and two rooms have en suite full baths.
Woodbridge is one of the most beautiful areas of Detroit. Within 1-2 miles of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Whole Foods, Eastern Market, Downtown, Wayne State. Comerica Park, Ford Field, Masonic Temple, Fox Theater, Corktown. Detroit safety and emptiness comes up often. This house is in the safest part of Detroit. We are the only area that is patrolled by three police departments due to Wayne State University and the variety of medical centers near by. Many are thrown off by the current state of Detroit. There are amazing small "islands" of great neighborhoods throughout the city, but a lot of emptiness, grafitti, and development between all of them. You can't escape it if you are staying in Detroit. It's the nature of our city. This house is in one of the safest and most quiet neighborhoods in all of Detroit. We are only a mile from city center and most attractions. My reviews tend to be all 5 stars except sometimes we fall short in "location". I attribute this to guests being unfamiliar with Detroit, so I am trying to give a more detailed background of the nature of our city.
  • George's place is wonderful. I had to make a last-minute trip to visit family and he was gracious about getting the place ready with little notice. The location was perfect: near downtown in a beautiful neighborhood that is up and coming. I can't wait to stay there again!

    Howard2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house is awesome, and George is a great host. Detroit has won me over, plenty of good food and drink, great prices, nice people. Easy keyless lock on House made coming and going very easy. Don't hesitate, book it.

  • We had a nice time here and in Detroit. Great house in good neighborhood. Exactly as advertised. We'd stay here again. George was a great host.

    Nils2015-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • George and Nicole were great host for my friends and I. I would recommend any people wanting to enjoy the city of Detroit to stay there as well. I definitely will be staying there in the future.

    Dustin2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Another perfect stay with George - my 4th! Thanks for having us!

    Hazel2014-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very beaufiful and giant house in Detroit. Near Grand River St., which goes directly downtown. George is available easily. Very clean and healthy house. We were 4, we had 4 rooms. Mine was bigger, I enjoyed it a lot. Neighborhood looks safe, even if it is better not to let anything in the car. The garden is nice also. This is an old house, then you can hear noise from other rooms and from outside. But it happens in old house, not a problem. I recommend the place. Will come again.

    Emilie2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • George was an excellent host! Super responsive during the booking process and very helpful when arriving. My editorial team that stayed only had positive feedback about their stay. I would definitely have my team stay at George's place for the auto show next year!

    Taryn2016-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic experience, George's home was even more beautiful in person! It was comfortable, spacious and lovely with just about every thing we could ask for! The tree lined streets echoed memories of days gone past, strolling by one restored home after another. We walked to a local pub suggested by George and enjoyed a delicious dinner in a comfortable, fun environment. After viewing a joyful community garden across from the pub we wandered back to the house. George was then kind enough to drop us off downtown for our concert, taking us for a mini tour of Detroit on the way. He is everything you can ask for in a host!! Thank you George for contributing to our Wonderful Experience in Detroit, your Hospitality was outstanding, we WILL be Back!!

  • This is my second time staying here and it has to be my favorite airbnb. The decor is really nice it has that 70's look with modern touches. If you're someone who appreciates interior design this is the spot for you. There's stores near by like CVS and Dollar General if you need something really quick and don't feel like going a long distance for it and it's not too far from Detroit either!

    Anthony2018-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan's surf shack is a fine place to stay and I would highly recommend it. Clean, quiet and safe plus right above ( though you would not know it ) a dynamite breakfast place.

  • What a cute place tucked in Hamtramck. It's bigger than it looks in photos, but just as cute as you expect. The loft bed is both novel and functional. Every question I had was answered quickly and we had everything we needed. Only wish we were in town longer!

    Angela2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I stayed here just one night during a road trip up to northern Michigan. The surf shack was cute and comfortable, and Morgan was very helpful with all requests. I only wish we had more time to explore the neighborhood!

  • Danielle is an incredible host- she gave us so many thoughtful recommendations for the neighborhood and things to do in Detroit in general. The apartment was lovely- even better than the pictures! We had such a fantastic experience.

  • This is a great space within walking distance to downtown Detroit. The neighbors are quiet and respectful. I would recommend this space for a weekend stay or longer, come and see what Detroit has to offer, this space is an ideal base point.

Beautiful, historic 3 bedroom house with lots of character in the North End neighborhood of Detroit. Great location makes it easy to get anywhere in Central Business District, the house is located in the center of the city (above Midtown) in a neighborhood with a tight community of neighbors! Close to Freeways: I-94, I-75, The Lodge (10), and a short walk to the Q-Line (Grand Blvd stop). Uber/Lyft/Taxis never have a problem locating the address and are at a shorter distance (2-4min wait time)!

Close to I-94, I-75, The Lodge (10), and a short walk to the Q-Line. • Lovely, relaxed atmosphere at Michael and Paulina’s. Very welcoming. I felt perfectly safe and at ease in the area & parked on the street. Seems like the neighbors are all friendly and aware of the surroundings. Would recommend. Jabba the Dog will become your best friend if you let him!

  • I had a great stay! Quick and to the point but Michael was quick in communication and very hospitable

The complex is gated and in Indian Village, a quiet neighborhood of Detroit. It is next to an old, picturesque church and is easily accessible to most major freeways and is just a short drive to all the amenities and attractions of downtown Detroit.
  • It was a lovely little condo, perfect for our stay!

    Rachel2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • This spot was great! We were curious as to why it is such a quiet community and looked it up: I'm pretty sure that about half of the units in this fenced-in community are part of a retirement home. No complaints about that though, everyone we encountered was really friendly and helpful. The bed was really comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking meals, and there was netflix available on the TV. The location is also great. Close to Belle Isle and plenty of spots for dinner and a drink. Overall, this is one of the best places I've stayed in Detroit!

    Carrie2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, affordable, and safe.

    Garrett2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Host is incredibly communicative and responded immediately to text messages during the stay! The area is incredibly quiet. It’s not close to anything of interest, so definitely need a car or Lyft/Uber service. There are dead ants in the bathroom and that was disgusting. After fees, it ended up being more than $110 night, so not quite worth it with how much you’ll spend in transportation costs. Overall, would not stay here again.

    Justin2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I recently experienced my first AirBnB It was amazing. I stayed 5 nights with my mom daughter & 18 month old daughter . Rita was our host she was very nice and caring . Her place was beautifully decorated & clean it really had the comforts of home. We drove and one of the concerns I had was where would I park my car. I had NO worries, as. it was a gated community and they gave us our own gate opener . Miss Nancy her mother would call & come by to see if we needed anything - it felt like family., Very warm. And for the price it was the best deal in town. Detroit hotels beware

    Dorothea2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable unit: all on ground floor. Parking only a few feet across the lawn from the front door. Just off East Jefferson: across the river from Windsor. Easy access to freeways. Detroit Institute of Art, Motown Museum, and Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe all within fifteen-minute drive. Easy check-in. Good support from Rita's mother, Ed the security person, and Sandy the housekeeping person. We'll definitely return.

    Richard2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rita and her staff were all extremely responsive and communicative and definitely made for a very pleasant stay. The unit itself is very clean and modern, and the value is unbeatable. The complex is gated and we always felt secure. I come to Detroit regularly for business and up to now have stayed in faceless boring lodging in Dearborn or Southfield. I can't believe it took me this long for it to occur to me to seek out an AirBnB in Detroit proper and immerse myself in the city's renaissance.

    Ed2017-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location was convenient and the bed was comfortable, but if you're aiming for that lived-in authentic AirBnB experience, this motel-like spot may not be what you're looking for. Overall, the unit was sufficient and had all of the amenities, but I may look for something a little more warm and welcoming the next time I'm in Detroit.

Sunny, welcoming one bedroom apartment located right in the middle of Midtown. Includes parking! Tucked in a 2nd floor corner of a historic building the space has an updated kitchen and bathroom. Fits two in bedroom and one (or two snugly) on couch in living room. Convenient location just blocks away from the Q-Line, shops, restaurants, museums and less than 5 minutes from downtown. Visit Detroit and explore the midtown neighborhood with this cozy space as your starting point.
This is a lovely, bright corner apartment located on the 2nd floor of a 1920’s building in Midtown, Detroit. The apartment itself is efficient in size overall with a large living area. Original wood floors have been refinished and the kitchen and bathroom have been updated. Many original elements remain including a decorative fireplace in the bedroom. Wifi is available in the apartment and I have a TV set up with Hulu and Netflix. One parking space in the front driveway is included in your stay!
The Midtown neighborhood is one of the most active in Detroit with new shops, restaurants and activities just a few steps out the door.

  • Morgan’s place was cozy, super stylish and perfect for a weekend trip to Detroit. We loved the location and parking, and everything was really clean. I would absolutely stay here again.

    Claire2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was very comfortable. In the winter the heat keeps it really warm but I just opened a window to control the temperature. I'm not used to sleeping near a busy street so I wish I brought ear plugs. The kitchen is very modern and has everything we needed. All in all it was an excellent stay and I would stay there again when I'm visiting Detroit.

    Brian2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous space in a really nice building, patio was even better than I expected. Loved the upper bedroom.

    Jason2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first stay using Airbnb. We were staying in the little Paris loft. It was very clean and had all amenities listed. The area did not seem as safe as we anticipated. We were given a code to access the building as well as our loft. Since the codes were the same, around 11 PM, the guest who was staying in the flat on the first floor that Christa and Dave also rent out, came into our apartment using the code to attempt to use rooftop area. It made us feel very uneasy that someone else could get into our apartment so easily.

    Amanda2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was exactly as described and the location couldn’t have been better for us. Christa and David communicated everything we needed to know perfectly and in a timely manner. If you’re looking for a place near any event downtown you probably won’t find a better place to stay.

    John2018-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as presented. Beautiful unit, perfect for a girl's night in. Can't say enough positive things about our stay!

    Natalie2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our first trip to the city and we picked The Loft because of its central location. Christa and David have thoughtfully created a hip and homey space; it would have been nice to use the huge deck but the temp didn’t get above 15F during our January visit. We hope to return in the warmer months to enjoy the deck and a quick trip on the Q-line to the riverfront. If you can climb the ladder to the sleeping loft you should book here.

Large basement apartment with everything you need.
Great location for travelers looking for a comfortable stay! House is located in a safe and relaxed neighborhood. There is a separate entrance to the listing from the rest of the house. The Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) is a quick 15 minute drive away. Less than a mile away is a downtown area with many unique bars and restaurants. There is also Fairlane Mall a little further down the road. An Amtrak train station is nearby, along with the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Detroit city is about 15-20 minutes away. I am always available for my guests and would be happy to provide any information or assistance needed!
  • Well for starters, this was my first airbnd experience; and let me tell youD Malcolm went above and beyond to accommodate for me as well as my early arrival/ and late depature! Despite being out of town when I came; he was very much involved, and willing to help. Also you get a cool electric fireplace in the bedroom to keep you warm (because it can get a little chilly down there) so theres that!

This home, located right next door to my residence, is the third Detroit home I've taken on as a renovation. It still has a few more details to hammer out, but due to the huge demand for accommodations, I decided to list it early at a discount rate. It is adjacent and connected to my urban duck farm!
I'm not going to lie, since the housing crash, many people left this neighborhood, so there is blight, empty houses, and empty lots where houses used to be. But the good news is, it is considered one of the more stable neighborhoods in the city. In the entire three years I have been renting on airbnb, over 100 rentals per year, we have not experienced a single crime incident. We are also located blocks from Grosse Pointe, one of the safest suburbs in the area, where there is shopping, groceries, coffee shops, restaurants, and most other amenities.
  • Perfect crash pad. Area seems a little sketchy so maybe not for everyone, but definitely worth it!

    Eddie2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Suzanne's place was perfect for what we needed. It was just as described and definitely a "work in progress." The finished look will be awesome but you can have a comfortable stay in it now. I would say it could be a little cleaner but I think the day we checked in there was a lot going on too and we may have rushed her a bit. The sound of the ducks in the back yard was refreshing. The neighborhood is just as described and there was never a moment where we felt unsafe. It is literally around the corner from restaurants and shops amd a few minutes from the riverwalk. Suzanne was gracious and able to answer any question we had. We would definitely consider using her place again if ever in the Detroit area.

    Frances2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was great. There was a parking permit provided upon arrival, which was fantastic! The space was nice and clean. Great for a short or extended stay. I would recommend staying here while visiting Chicago! 10/10

    Keiri2015-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the listing and the accomodations was excellent. Suzanne got back to me right away. The neighbourhood isn't great but its Detroit and it was exactly what we were looking for.

    Christine2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • As always the stay was perfect. The home had every single amenity that was needed. The host was great and I felt safe the entire night.

    Ricky2018-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • While it is a work in progress, it was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is a little sketchy looking, but we never felt unsafe. It is also close to so much culture and night life. I appreciate the real and practical way that Suzanne is playing a role in Detroit's come back. Keep up the great work.

    Rene2018-01-21T00:00:00Z

Enjoy and explore the quaint but up-and-coming neighborhood of West Village Detroit. This cozy apartment is just steps away from new shops and restaurants like Sister Pie, Craft Work and Red Hook Coffee. With it’s historic elements in tact, wood floors, and antique charm the space has a subtle and sophisticated feel and was furnished with this in mind. The original murphy bed folds down in the living room and a custom made kitchen bar top folds up for extra guest accommodations.
The West Village neighborhood is a lovely up and coming area of Detroit. While it's still easiest to get around Detroit by car there are some great restaurants and shops within walking distance. If you'd like any recommendations just send me a message. We are also right next to Indian Village, a neighborhood with beautiful houses built in the early 1900s. Overall, the neighborhood is very walkable and friendly.
  • LOVED staying here. Beautiful-Clean-Charming-Great location.Morgan was very accommodating and helpful. Can’t wait to visit again

    Amber2018-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Just the cutest little spot tucked in a great neighborhood. The vibe of the apartment is so cozy and feels like a true home. The walls are definitely thin, AND, to be expected with beautiful old architecture. Such a great experience.

    Savannah2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for an entire apartment! Nice amenities, easy check in/out and the space was very cozy and welcoming. The only issue we had was the walls are very thin and we were awoken by the neighbors in the middle of the night.

    Jenny & Andy2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan’s apartment is indeed very cozy, with original features to the old building. Two beds allow for up to four guests (or plenty of room for two!) and the apartment provides travelers with all of the amenities they might need for a trip to Detroit including cozy furniture, clean accommodations and opportunities to cook. Located next to a great eatery, beer garden and coffee shop, we took advantage of this one night and both mornings we were there! The neighborhood is quiet and we felt safe to come and go as we pleased. Thanks for hosting us, Morgan!

    Briana2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This little gem had everything a visitor could ask for. The neighbors were friendly and it's within walking distance to Detroit Vegan Soul and some other cool stuff. We had no problem accessing the place and street parking was plentiful. Great, quiet place.

    Jason2017-08-27T00:00:00Z

  • This listing is absolutely lovely! The coffee shop and bar down the street are great to have nearby and the kitchen in the apt was so nice to have for our weekend stay. Everything about the apt has a cool vintage charm to it. Morgan was the easiest to talk with over Airbnb messages. We’d happily stay here again!

My two-bedroom home in The Dales neighborhood, is a five minute walk to Ferndale’s newest brew pub, Axle Brewing Company and Livernois Tap. A five-minute walk south, will bring you to Baker’s Keyboard Lounge, one of the world’s oldest operating jazz clubs. Heading north, you can walk to downtown Ferndale, where there are many restaurants and bars. The library is nearby, and even two book stores.
There are two bedrooms on the first floor, and a lower level room to spend some quiet time for reading or computer work.
The Dales is a lovely tree lined neighborhood, within an easy short walk to anything in Ferndale.

  • This is a perfect spot. Close to everything but in a very quiet neighborhood. It’s a very nice little house with all of the amenities anyone would need.

  • Everything was perfect! House was exactly what we needed, and right in the perfect location for us for a concert on 9 mile rd. Would love to stay again when in the area!

  • My wife and idea greatly enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood is charming with level, shaded sidewalks and is excellent for people who like to take walks. The WiFi was good. The bed was very comfortable. The older home newly renovated made us nostalgic and was very relaxing. No TV, but we watched Netflix on our devices when we wanted to see something. We would definitely stay here again.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME: Instant book ensures no discrimination #DisforDiversity. Secure, clean, comfortable private room in a warm home on a tree-lined street in one of Detroit's best neighborhoods for diversity and architecture - Hubbard Farms. Adjacent to Corktown, Mexicantown/Mexican Village and the riverfront; close to downtown and COBO.
This 3 bd/1.5 ba non-smoking home offers 1 private, furnished guest bedroom with private 1/2 bath (full bath is shared). Comfortable living area, full kitchen, dining area and pleasant porch to spend the evenings on. This home has maintained much of its historic aesthetic, with modern appliances and convenience. There is 1 small, high energy boxer/pug mix dog in the home. (PLEASE NOTE: Totem, my beloved family member, was abducted on 5/7/18. It is a sad time. I have not removed her reference, in hopes she will be returned and future guests won't be confused by the disconnect. However, she is not currently a feature in my home.) The location is in a quiet, safe, historic district within walking distance to Corktown, the iconic train station, Mexicantown/Mexican Village, the river front, a community garden, large public park and lots of entertainment. The El Club music venue is within 4 blocks. Downtown and COBO are a short distance away (~2.5 miles) and cheap by Lyft or quick by bike. WSU is ~3.5 miles and Ford Hsp ~4.25 miles from the house. Loaner bike available with *refundable* security deposit. Public transportation is accessible either in front of the house or across the street. IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. This is a low-scent house. Products have trained many of us to associate "clean" with aggressive perfumes, which you will not find here. All sheets and towels are washed after each guest use; in fact, if anyone should fault the linens, it's because frequency of washing wears them more quickly than is practical to replace them. If there is any mark or lint or whatever, these are just normal laundry limits and no indication that anything is amiss. If you really feel something is genuinely off, please let me know when I can actually correct it and improve your experience. 2. Depending on circumstances referenced above, my dog may be here; as a sentient resident, she is not expected to be put away like an object to accommodate guests who are not dog people. She is not allowed in the guest room (although some guests cheat), or on any beds (although sometimes she cheats). Yet, the reality of her existence means that guests are likely to encounter modest amounts of dog hair in passing - this is far less than how much we encounter guest hair, so it seems fair. Totem also takes her watch dog job very seriously, and barks when guests enter and sometimes when they're in the hall. Stepping through the door and greeting her notifies her that you are a guest and not an intruder. We are all thankful for Totem's vigilance, since none of us would want an intruder to get in without enough notice to put our pants on. Totem is a complete lap dog/attention hound, but she cannot be expected to understand complex social relationships and needs clear cues. If you find any bit of dog hair a signal of filth, or you are terrified by 20 lbs of appropriate bark, this may not be a place for you. For a mildly funny commentary on Totem as an Airbnb host, you might want to read "Hostess with the Someness" on my blog, hicdracones dot c-o-m.
The neighborhood is historic and residential, but with immediate access to a vibrant, ethnic commercial corridor, restaurants, bars and other entertainment. Some guests have insisted on calling this area "transitional." I believe that this is because Detroit is unique to most cities and gives many cues that would mean something different in another place. In fact, Hubbard Farms has been remarkably stable even in the worst of the crisis, and Southwest Detroit has had the most contiguous occupancy of any sector, due to the strong Latino base. The entire city of Detroit is "transitional," but this neighborhood is far less so than most. The city requires houses which are vacant for any reason - even if under rehab - to be boarded. Therefore, a boarded house is not necessarily a sign of decay or problems, here. In this neighborhood, there are no vacant houses which are not currently owned and in some stage of renovation. However, in Detroit as a whole, empty houses are normal. It may be considered a form of blight, but it is not *necessarily* the "rough" signal that some assume - it can be, but there are other cues, as well, not just empty houses. Throughout Detroit, property crime is typical of a city, but in this area, more serious crime is very low. On the other hand, it is precisely because Detroit is "transitional" as a whole that so much exciting energy of creation is here: there is literal room and economic feasibility to create new things in a way which is rarely found in highly dense, polished places. Southwest is well-known for its "edge effect," a principle of true diversity which gives it a fairly unique flavor here in Detroit.

  • The place was full of interest from art on the wall to the renovation details of the building itself. Marlena was available and attentive when needed. Her place is organized with lots of discrete little notes which answer questions most people will probably have. I had transportation issues from a late plane to a non working gps, which had me to check in around 3am. She was helpful and gracious.

  • Marlena and Totem were the best hosts for our quick visit to Detroit! The space is filled with beautiful ethnic art and textiles, tons of records, and a cozy porch to hang out on. The neighborhood is very well located, close to Mexicantown-- we loved our stay!

  • My friend and I stayed at Marlena's place for two nights, and enjoyed our stay. Her house was clean, the location was safe, plenty of street parking, and her dog was playful. Would recommend!

  • Marlena has maybe the coolest dog I've ever seen. The place was clean, warm, and inviting. Marlena herself was also very accommodating, not as cool as Totem (her dog), but still overall great.

  • Wonderful historic vibe with lots of character. This place is well-stocked for guests, and extremely clean. Great value :)

  • Lillian’s place is exactly how the photos show. It is decorated very thoughtfully, all the amenities you could need while traveling and it was very comfortable.

    Heather2018-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lilian was a great host- very warm, generous, and friendly. She would even offer me her food, which I definitely didn't expect. Everything was smooth sailing and I had a very comfortable stay. She does host multiple guests at a time, and I don't think that was obvious from the listing, so keep that in mind...but her guests were all pretty chill. The bedroom I stayed in had a private bathroom, which was great, but it was a bit on the small/crowded side, so that would be the only negative in my experience.

    Nnenne2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • My experience at Lilian's home is very elegant and serene. She knows how to make her guests comfortable. I have all of the amenities at her home, like what a 5-Star Hotel encompasses. Her home reminds me of a resort. Thank you for having me to stay at your beautiful home.

  • Lilian was very kind and hospitable! The room was a perfect place to stay!

  • Thank you Ms. Lilian for the chance opportunity to spend the weekend in your clean and delightful studio type unit. I'm sooo appreciative...grateful to you for the optimal experience. Mr. Benin, Brittany, and Shelia are all exceptional people and I'm humbled to have made their acquaintance. Wishing you the best! All is well!

  • Great stay !! If this place becomes available you need to grab it. Very quiet location, lots of privacy if you need it and Lilian is truly a pleasure to meet. She made my stay very comfortable and easy for my first AirBnb shared house experience. Everything you need is pretty close by. The room was just as described and exactly the way it looks in the pictures. Very comfortable and relaxing and I had access to everything I needed. Thank you Lilian.

I really enjoyed stayed at Jon's place ! I will admit I was little worried about "sharing space" but I must say I don't think this is a accurate description of the lay out. It is more like apartment garage. Separate entrance, nice clean place! I felt very safe, wasn't worried about my vehicle or anything ! All around nice experience, although there is not a TV. Not a huge deal but for a longer stay I'd prefer one !
