  • We really enjoyed staying in Lance's treehouse! Beautiful city and mountain views! Lance was a cordial host- providing local recommendations and a history of the house.

  • Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and unique place to stay for our first visit to Portland. Beautiful neighborhood, fascinating house, and wonderful host. Thanks, Lance!

  • The place was a gem. It is located on the hills above the city, and you get an unobstructed view all the way to my. Helena and Hood. To be clear to those who rent, the rental is for the entire downstairs area and Lance lives on the second level. Lance was great about communicating and gave us our space to enjoy our stay. He also made coffee for us in the morning and made us feel very welcome! Would definitely recommend.

    John2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Beautiful room. Lance was very nice and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Would highly recommend!

    Myles2017-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was great! Very helpful and friendly. Me and my friend had a great time at his place. I would definitely recommend lances home, for the fact of the view, how close, but far enough from downtown Portland and the privacy Lance gave while in his home.

    Skylar2016-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lance and his cat Bukowski were great hosts and very accommodating. He gave us a house tour and recommendations on bars/restaurants nearby. Downtown was a quick UBER ride away and I also walked to the hiking trails from the treehouse. Enjoyed the views and the bedroom area was large and had a nice seating area next to it with Portland restaurant magazines.

    Christie2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was a gracious host and happily shared his house and it's great history. Amazing space and an unforgettable view (great furniture collection too!). Definitely a unique perch to stay in while checking out Portland. 5-10 min away from downtown and right next to council crest park.

    Edward2015-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • My staying at Lance's house is enjoyable. There are few hiking tracks near the tree house (about few minutes walking). Lance is a welcoming host. He recommended few "to dos" for me and my friend. The tree house is definitely a place worth to stay in Portland.

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • We really enjoyed the unique little hut by the pond, and walking In the neighborhood. Chris and Jack were very friendly and we quickly found places where our lives intersect. Great place to stay!

  • Our stay with Jack and Cris was great. The cottage is very comfortable. The hosts are nice and helpful. The neighborhood is amazing as well. Thank you.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! It was the perfect getaway and very cozy, unique, and comfortable. It was also well heated, even for a chilly December night. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back!

    Katrin2018-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Really cool backyard cob structure in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Very clean, exactly as described, with a comfortable bed. Met my needs perfectly, and the hosts were very friendly.

  • Without a doubt, the Earthen Cottage has been my most unique Airbnb experience. I slept beautifully. The bed was very comfortable. And the room much more cozy than I would have thought at first. I felt like I was staying in a Hobbit house. Would recommend to anyone looking for something a bit more adventurous than the normal stay.

    Nate2018-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a magical place! I highly recommend if this place is available to stay in the cob cottage, you’ll never get another experience like it, it’s truly one of a kind. Jack and Cris are very welcoming. They recommended an awesome place to get pho, (Luc Lac) and we were very impressed. We loved our stay!

    Samantha2018-03-16T00:00:00Z

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!

  • Had a great time in the tiny home.

    Alex2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time on our visit to Portland! Andrée's tiny house was perfect!! It had everything we needed, very cozy. It actually really opened our eyes to more Eco-friendly living, and gave us great ideas of projects and little things we can change everyday to help our Mother Earth! Loved the cottage and all the windows/light in the morning!! So much greenery surrounding the house made us feel like we were sleeping outdoor-minus the bugs ;) definitely will recommend Andrées place to my friends and family! Good location!!

    Priscilla2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had such a fantastic time in Portland and couldn't have imagined a better place to stay than Andrée's adorable garden studio. She was an excellent and accommodating host, and I hope to stay with her again on my next trip up north. I recommend renting bikes during your stay-- they made it so easy to get around the city from this location!

    Tiffany 2013-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I stayed at Andrée's place for five nights, and we loved it. The cottage is cozy and adorable, and sleeping in the loft (accessible only via ladder) was a blast. Please don't be spooked by the lack of a bathroom in this cottage--we were initially worried about this before arriving, but Andrée’s main house (where the nearest bathroom is located) is a 5-second walk away from the cottage, and Andrée made sure it was super easy and comfortable for us to go into the house to use the restroom whenever we wanted. Andrée’s place is just a few minutes' drive from a bunch of wonderful restaurants, pubs, and nightlife. Overall, we were very happy with the setup of the place, its location in the city, and Andrée’s warmth and hospitality. Thank you, Andrée!

With just the right amount of space for two, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, King Memory foam Bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a king bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • La casa es muy bonita y limpia. Todo funciona: chimenea, agua caliente, estufa... Todo. El barrio es hermoso. Parece de un cuento. El acceso al centro de la ciudad es fácil y más o menos rápido.

    Pixel2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • The description is accurate. This studio is in a convenient & quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay in this clean and cozy space!

  • This was such a great place to stay! Jason has created a lovely space and was welcoming, kind and helpful. Exploring this charming neighborhood was an added bonus to the trip. I highly recommend staying here.

    Suzanne2014-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Despite arriving several hours earlier than anticipated, Jason was welcoming and helpful upon our arrival. This listing is plain, relatively spartan in furnishings, but very clean. Quiet, residential street perfect for an after meal walk. I consider Jason an excellent Air BnB host - "hands off" except when you need a little assistance. Then he's quickly available and gracious.

    Constance2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a fantastic, centrally-located neighborhood. Jason was great to work with!

    Chris2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jason sent us a message prior to our visit saying he could give us suggestions of what to do in Portland. The location is close to the Alberta Arts District which is likely highly desirable to many visitors. The apartment has architectural charm although the bathroom is tiny and furnishings are sparse.

    Martha2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable studio in a great location. Close to plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and major access roads/public transportation. The wood burning fireplace was a huge plus! Would definitely recommend staying here!

This quaint 1 bedroom furnished apt. is located downstairs in our historic brick English tutor home. It has a separate key, private entrance, and courtyard. The space is well-lit with two windows and has a back door to a beautiful garden and patio in the backyard as well as a side door to the courtyard. The location is Laurelhurst - one of Portland's oldest and most beautiful planned communities on a quiet, tree lined street within 10 minutes of the city and 15 min. from the airport. Major shopping, wonderful restaurants and one of Portland's most beautiful parks are all within walking distance. This ideal location is only two blocks from a major bus line and 5 blocks from the MAX train. It is also within walking distance of favorite east side shopping and dining areas, including Hawthorne, Belmont and 28th street. When you enter this mid-century decorated apartment you will immediately feel at home! You will find a comfortable queen sized bed, overstuffed chair and desk with the latest mesh technology wireless internet, flat screen TV with cable, Blu-ray CD player, a collection of movies in the bedroom. The newly tiled bathroom has a tub and shower and, although there is not a separate "living room", the kitchen and pantry is fully furnished with everything you may need to make your own meals if you choose (i.e. microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, blender, coffee maker, dishes, pots/pans, spices, condiments, etc.). Other amenities include a private courtyard, washer/dryer in the apt., and easy walking distance to bus, train, restaurants and shopping. More information on our historic home can be found on Oregon Encyclopedia website. Search for "Brick House Beautiful". Our home has also been in "Better Home and Gardens" magazine and has been twice on the cover of "Old House Journal". If we are home when you arrive, we will be happy to give you a tour of our home and offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine while you have complete access to our English gardens, courtyard and barbecue during your stay. We think you will be pleased if you choose to stay in the "Quaint English Garden Apartment " located in our beautiful historic home!
Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • The garden apartment is very cozy and comfortable. Having a washer and dryer was also a really wonderful perk. Sue and her husband, Paul, were lovely hosts ....... giving ideas on things to see, walks of the area, and providing a lovely garden seating area for morning coffee. I definitely recommend staying here ..... I know I will be back.

    Catheryne2012-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful and practical apartment. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and it had everything we needed, from the immaculate bathroom, comprehensive kitchen, a well-functioning washer and dryer and comfortable and cozy bed. The gardens were straight out of a magazine -- so romantic and smelled amazing. And to top it off, Bob and Sue were so warm and hospitable -- we would recommend this spot to anyone!

    Maria2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place was really cool! Very clean and cozy. No complaints whatsoever and the hosts were great as well. Laurelhurst is a beautiful neighborhood and there was never a problem with parking. The place had everything you would need! The retro/vintage feel was really nice. About 2 miles from downtown and very close to Laurelhurst Park, which is beautiful. The location is ideal and so close to many restaurants. You have to try Screen Door, which is about 1 mi away from the room. Tapalaya was also delicious for brunch! Their coconut pork rice bowl is awesome. If you stay at this beautiful place, you will definitely not be disappointed!

    Andrea2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, beautiful space, great tips, and friendly hosts. You can’t go wrong, absolutely adored the stay.

    Paul2017-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Sue & Bob's place is like taking a trip through a wonderland of early 1940s - 1950s history. Sue & Bob did an amazing job decorating their house and the apartment with whimsical americana furnitures and amenities by refurbishing antique appliances to modern functionality. The beautiful garden surrounding their house no doubt has appeared in various garden magazines. Sue & Bob are wonderful & accommodating hosts: they generously offered to give us a ride to and from the max rail even though it is only about 7 blocks from the house. They also gave us a tour of their house and told us about it's history. The apartment that we rented is in the basement portion of their house. It was wonderfully decorated with all the amenities that we could possibly needed including a washer and dryer and a fully equipped kitchen. It remained cool and had great AC which was a blessing during the 100 degree weather we were experiencing. This is a very special place and we are grateful that Sue & Bob are willing to share it to us lucky renters.

    Lan2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was out of town when we arrived in Portland, but Bob was extremely helpful and welcoming. The house was absolutely beautiful and had everything we'd need over a three day stay. The W/D was especially helpful as we'd been on the road a few days. Nothing but good things to say about the home and Bob and it comes highly recommended.

    Charlie2015-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Bob were amazing. It is such a shame we could only stay 2 nights but we at least know about this magnificent home and gracious hosts the next time we are in Portland. My partner and I could not find one fault - we arrived at 1am on the Saturday morning and Sue and Bob were accommodating and fantastic communicators. The apartment itself is just gorgeous - if you love retro and vintage decor` it is THE place! Snowball (the cat) was also very friendly which suited me well - we got to know each other in the back garden as I gave him a nice long head scratch. There was ample of information on Portland, where to eat, where to shop and hike - Bob and Sue should be getting paid commission from the city of Portland for all of the references and tips they give. The house itself is gorgeous and my partner and I were lucky enough to get a tour from Sue and Bob - so much history and quirky architectural designs. Our advice: Don't keep looking on AirBnB - You've found the best!!

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block or two of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • STAY here if you can! So clean! So stylish ! I was so incredibly comfortable. There was so much air and sunlight. Outstanding

  • Such a cute little place! Very clean! Perfect for our stay in Portland. The bed was super comfy! Will be staying here again when we come back!!

  • This was one of our best Airbnb experiences to date! Laurel and Brian's apartment is full of light and has everything you need, including a supremely comfortable bed. We loved the neighborhood and enjoyed walking/biking to many of our favorite restaurants in Portland. It was easy to coordinate our details with Laurel, and she went out of her way to meet us and welcome us in person, which was so nice. Overall, it was a perfect getaway weekend, and we would gladly stay with them again!

    Kim2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel and Brian's place was exactly as described. Super easy, flexible check-in. The place was quiet and spacious for two people. And, they left great coffee for the full stay. Great location within walking distance to Hawthorne and Division for good shopping, food and coffee. Would recommend to others.

    Kristine2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel and Brian's guest house was perfect! Everything was super clean and looked exactly like the pictures. The location was great if you don't want to be in the heart of the city and there are tons of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

    Lauren2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This loft is AMAZING! We were so comfortable and happy to come back after a day of eating our way down Division - if you get a chance to stay here you will love ❤️ it!

  • Very cute and comfortable stay!! We were able to take a 20 minute walk to Alberta St. and also find parking in the lot for our car. Very clean and the bed was so comfortable.

  • Tim was very responsive and flexible for a very last minute check in for a quick overnight. Cool place......Many thanks!

    Corinne2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely room - spacious, quiet, serene, and a sweet neighborhood with some very yummy dining options literally just next to Timothy's home. Pictures were absolutely accurate and Timothy was exceptional at communicating and making himself available. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 not a 5 is because there was a bit of construction underway on a couple rooms and out on the deck which would've been nice to have known before arriving. Also, had I known the shower was being shared by all other guests I would've brought shower shoes.

    CyBelle2016-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time staying in Timothy's air bnb. The room was really large and beautifully furnished. The bathrooms were clean and we could get coffee every morning from just down the hallway. We enjoyed hanging out on the roof terrace. The place is wonderfully situated near lots of great places to eat, including the Ned Ludd (which has a yummy pizza night on Monday's). Would highly recommend it!

  • Nice place and easy to check in. Very accommodating with early check in and late departure with a room to store luggage.

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Great little place that was just perfect for me and my wife. Easy to get to and from, especially the airport. Loved the vibe and of course Anna and Jeremy were great hosts!

    Andrew2017-01-08T00:00:00Z

  • the second we met anna, she was so sweet and super helpful. we loved the space that we were in and it was decorated perfectly! the place was in a great location with coffee shops and an amazing tamale place within walking distance. anna and jeremy were great host, we can't wait to visit portland again stay here!

    Jenn2015-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • My bf & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Though not in the city center, it had easy access to several bus lines, 8 and 75. We did not feel inconvenienced at all. We did rent a car for few days to go out to the countryside and the budget rental office was located a short bus ride away! The shower here is amazing!!! Great water pressure and abundant hot water supply! The hosts provided excellent toiletries (esp for females). Breakside brewery and Tamale Boy is worth walking to!!

    Marie2014-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place and fantastic host!

  • Our stay at Anna and Jeremy's was fantastic. We only stayed one night but it was very pleasant and informative. We really appreciated all the great advice Anna gave us, she's adorable! Coming from staying in SE Portland it was great to experience the NE side even if it just was for one night. Everything is as pictured if not more! Great taste! The shower was a definite favorite! It's a great, cute, quiet neighborhood. My bf and I enjoyed a late night stroll to the park which is a 5 min walk and super close to cute coffee shops, restaurants, and brewery. Would definitely stay here again if in the area! Thanks again Anna!

    Sammy2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Anna and Jeremy's Airbnb. Anna greeted us and gave us a nice welcome when we arrived. The space is beautiful and refreshing. We hope to visit Portland and stay with Anna & Jeremy again!

    Erica2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy's place was a great place to come home to after a day of touring the city and eating! We loved the décor and design of the whole place. Location was good from all the places we had our on list, was about 3-4 miles away from everything. Anna was very helpful at check-in and even texted me letting me know the place was ready earlier than our check in time! The only complaint I have about the space is that it was COLD! it's a basement apartment and it is not carpeted so it could get cold very quickly. We had to wear socks to walk around. There are a few extra blankets in the space as well as a small heater. We used both and it helped :). Also, no microwave, so If you have left over food you might have to heat it up over the stove. All in all it was a great place to stay for a short weekend. Thanks Anna and Jeremy!

Our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide views of the west hills and flood the room with an abundance of natural light, even on the greyest of drizzly Portland days. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; It's quite small, so if you're needing more of a "hangout spot" this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to two main restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • Lives up to all the 5 star reviews. Great location, easily accessible, quiet and private but also close to restaurants, shops, bars and nightlife. Would definitely return for another stay!

    Matt2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place tucked behind their home. Our hosts were friendly and helpful! Small studio with bed, seating area, and kitchen counter space. Cozy and great for the long weekend!

  • Our stay with Brian & Melissa was the best Airbnb experience we have ever had! The studio is nicer than even pictured & our hosts thought of every single detail to make our stay perfect - from providing nice towels & toiletries, to fresh flowers and an expansive list of great restaurant recommendations all over the city! The studio is very clean & private, situated in their quiet but very beautiful garden. It truly is a little green oasis. We had cozy blankets & coffee already waiting for us too! The location is great as well - a short walk from two main streets (SE Hawthorne and SE Division) with some of the best restaurants in town & lots of Portland charm. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and cannot say enough positive things about it!! We will definitely be staying here on our future trips to Portland :) Thanks to our amazing hosts!!!

    Julia2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • GREAT great place to stay at whilst in Portland. Melissa and Brian's studio is close to everything awesome in Portland. The studio is perfectly decorated with the cutest quirks. It's also stocked with awesome things to have while traveling: coffee, water filter, utensils, microwave, speakers, towels, games. I also love the food/drinks advice and other tips they left for us! 10/10 recommend!!

    Heidi2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Melissa's home was so amazing. What a unique and fun little space it was with really thoughtful details! My husband and I stayed here during our wedding night and we were greeted with such kind hospitality, a clean and carefully curated living space, and an incredibly cozy bed. The home itself is in a pretty amazing location; lots of great food and shopping so close by. We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to stay in such a unique space during such an important moment in our lives. Thanks, Melissa!

    Samantha2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great space in Portland. The location is quiet, with lots of natural light and is well designed. Melissa made sure we had everything that we needed and even left us a special gift to congratulate us on our engagement. It’s only minutes to some restaurants and shops. If you’re coming to Portland, stay here!

    Brett2018-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Listing was completely accurate! It was exactly what we expected. Very comfortable, cozy and private. Neighborhood was great. Very walkable to restaurants and shops. Our hosts, Melissa and Brian were very warm and friendly and provided us with lots of information of local eateries. Kitchenette was well appointed and had all that we needed. Including coffee and half and half! Studio was perfect for us, visiting our daughter, giving us a warm and homey place to rest our heads! Would definitely stay there again!

  • Anastasia's place was exactly what we wanted. Close to great food, shopping, and public transportation. Although we did not interact with her much, she made sure we had everything we needed. The space is perfectly minimalist and we had everything we needed. We couldn't have done better for this price.

    Cicely2017-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really good host! He always replies to my question or request as soon as possible. And very good place for travel like transportation, location . There are famous restaurant nearby house. I recommend Anastasia 's house:)

  • AMAZING place to stay! The location was absolutely perfect! The cutest streets are right outside the door with hundreds of shops and restaurants nearby. The apartment was clean, guest friendly, and the owners were super sweet and gave us a ton of great recommendations on where to eat and what to do during our stay. Super comfy bed with modern decor. Free WIFI plus a great TV located in front of the bed for great viewing. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone wanting to experience true Portland!

  • Great space in the perfect location!

    Jo2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great clean unit, really close to restaurants and transit. A little further from the core but easily accessible by streetcar. Anastasia was very responsive and everything was ready. You can sometimes hear Anastasia's family in the morning though the walls, but it wasn't loud enough to be a problem (unless you're a very light sleeper)

    Sherman2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay very much at the Lovejoy studio. Everything we needed was provided. Very clean and neat. The location is prime for the Northwest part of Portland. Lots of great shops and eatery's near by. Anastasia was welcoming and very responsive to any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again.

    Erica2016-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • The value for the location and accommodations cannot be beat. We were able to walk to tons of places or take public transit (which was easy to figure out). The studio was clean and comfortable. I slept better the first night there than I ever have in any hotel.

Buckman is a close in SE Portland neighborhood which is an increasingly popular place to live. The apartment is at the eastern end of the neighborhood. There are parks, a picturesque cemetery, good restaurants, wine bars, craft brewing pubs and the Laurelhurst movie theater, all within walking distance. The #15 bus line runs to downtown on the other side of the cemetery (6 blocks). A little further afield (just over a mile) is the Hawthorne district where there are some off beat shops and more places to eat and drink. Downtown is 2 miles away. The apartment is part of a new build and is situated at the rear of the property next to the garden It is one story up (over the garage) and receives a lot of natural light. It is fully self-contained, all appliances are new which makes self-catering very easy. What it lacks in history it more than makes up for in convenience! There is also ample free street parking directly outside the house. Buckman is pretty close to downtown while still having a residential flavor. It also contains a number of agreeable restaurants, wine bars and brewpubs. Everyday shopping needs such as grocery stores are also well served. Additionally it is pretty easy to get to the major freeways for travel purposes. Buses run to downtown and back a few blocks over.
  • This was absolutely the best possible place to stay while in preparation mode for my daughter's wedding. If I'm lucky enough that this lovely, sparkling new & clean studio apartment is available on my visits to Portland in the future, it will be my go-to place for a home-away-from-home. Everything that I needed was provided - GREAT kitchen! TERRIFIC bed! - and Cara and her husband were welcoming hosts. MANY THANKS! Su (Phone number hidden by Airbnb)

    Susan2013-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • OUTSTANDING!!! This was one of the best rentals we ever had! This extremely cozy studio was perfect for my wife and I and our 3month old. Cara & Roger really made us feel welcomed and their hospitality went beyond what we expected when they offered to set up an additional bed for us since we had our son. We are already planning another trip to Portland and will definitely be getting this place again!!

    John & Jessica + Baby Isaac2015-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Cara has been an excellent host. Super communicative with us and the place was spotless clean. We were nicely greeted with complimentary wine at our arrival and several books/magazines about Portland, which we found very useful. Every little detail was taken care of and we will undoubtedly consider this place again next time we return to portland!

    Ivana2015-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Five Stars! The studio apartment is indeed cozy in the best of ways. A perfect blend of hotel and home. The place was clean, fresh and bright like a luxurious hotel suite but with all the thoughtful and practical comforts of home. Within the first few steps you are greeted by a wine and glasses and a welcome note! The owners have clearly invested time in creating a "How To" manual for the studio itself and the neighborhood as well; highlighting the most common TV channels, resetting the wireless router, using the a/c, suggestions of 40+/- restaurants within a half mile walk. There is also an extensive collection of brochures and suggestions of what to do during your stay in Portland nicely presented on the coffee table. The cozy studio was a delight down to every detail. The sheets were clean, pillows fluffed, chairs were comfy and kitchen was well stocked with all the basic tools and then some. Owners provided ground coffee, milk, tea, peanut butter, etc. All the little things that get you going in the morning. Studio location was perfect too! Very accessible to restaurants, little shops, Biketown (bike sharing) and a short drive to downtown, Saturday Market, Laurelhurst Park and Mt. Tabor City Park. We even walked to Voodoo Doughnuts Too. We would definitely stay here again and again as we explore more of Portland.

    Nick2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay here! Everything was as described and the room was amazing. The place is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood with lots of good food/coffee/bar options within walking distance. Less than a 10 minute drive into downtown as well. Didn't get a chance to meet the hosts, but they were fast in responding to any questions and were very accommodating. Can't recommend this place enough!

    David & Carissa2016-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in Cara's apartment. It is clean, comfortable and welcoming. It is obvious that Cara and Roger worked on making sure that everything was thought of to contribute to the comfort of their visitors. The neighborhood is quiet and parking is easy. I hope we can visit again.

    Susan2016-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Everything was as described plus complimentary wine! We will definitely choose this place again in a heartbeat if we are back in Portland.

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • Everything was incredible. Walking into the house we were greeted by Brad. Who helped us into our room and showed us around, followed by the welcome speech. We hungout for awhile, then chatted with Brad and Becca for awhile before they helped us find a good ice cream shop. Wish we could have stayed longer, great people/home!

    Jonah2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Portland at Brad and Becca's amazing urban tree house! It was wonderful to have our own floor of the place and we truly enjoyed getting to know the hosts a bit better. : ) Biscuit is one of my new favorite kitties and we'd love to come back if we're ever in the Portland area again!

    Jessica2013-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Glad I was able to check out this part of Portland! Room and bathroom everything as described. Nice to have a private bathroom and bedroom was as described--perfectly comfortable. Most of my nights there were pretty late because of work but was able to say hi to Becca and Brad my last night there. Very friendly and sorry I wasn't able to stay awake longer. Only feedback I'd share is that there seemed to be furniture moving around every morning around 5:30? I needed to be up early anyway for work so it was fine for me.

    Kayte2015-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stop at the Urban treehouse on our journey. Brad and Becca have a beautiful home and we loved meeting their furry friends too (nice after missing ours for a week). Thanks to Brad for all of his delicious recommendations

  • A great stay... thanks Brad and Rebecca!

  • Such a treat of a space in Portland. I wish I hadn't been so wiped from my day's travels, as I had looked forward to getting to know Brad and Becca a bit more; but they provided a quiet and comfortable space for me to cozy up for the evening. The pictures just doesn't do it justice of how beautiful their space is - LOVED IT! HIGHLY recommend.

    Diana2014-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca's home was wonderful! They welcomed us in right when we arrived and gave a quick orientation, but unfortunately we didn't get to meet them more than that. We loved the homemade map/directory of Portland - it was a huge help in planning our day in the city and we wouldn't have known about some of the neighborhoods to explore without it. I was a bit worried about the animals (though it was clear in advance) since I am not a cat person, but the apartment was extremely clean and both the cat and dog stayed out of our hair.

    Eric2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca were welcoming hosts, I appreciated the use of the kitchen for a light supper. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. Brad's mixed media map of Portland is a wonderful welcome, and helpful to plan a visit! Thank you!

The bunk room has been created as a nod to the hotel's creation as a safe place for sailors. You'll find the same thing in this space with 18' ceilings- cozy, strong, and comfortable triple bunk beds.
At The Society Hotel, we believe in making every traveler feel authentically connected to our community so they are ready to enjoy our beautiful city from day one. We offer three ways to experience our unique hotel: bunk rooms for the affordable community experience; private rooms with shared bathrooms for comfort without excess; and suites for a bit of affordable luxury. All of our rooms come with plush beds, 10-foot windows, high speed wifi, and a hospitality experience unlike any other.
Old Town is Portland's oldest neighborhood - the original epicenter of Portland, Oregon. It has a colorful history and an equally colorful present! We are the epicenter of Portland's street fashion scene, the nightlife district, as well as a social services haven for those most in need. So expect an eclectic mix from Old Town, and hopefully love it as much as we do!
  • El lugar es absolutamente limpio, bien organizado, todo su personal es muy amable

  • First time in Portland and ended up staying here for the solo part of my trip. The hotel was clean, modern looking and very inviting. The people at the front desk were very kind and had great suggestions! The area is a little sketchy but I never felt like I was in danger. Overall, awesome experience and I would stay here again.

  • The Society Hotel is fantastic place to stay. The renovation of the former Sailor's Hotel is faultless. The re-use of materials and character of the building is fascinating. The look is industrial meets warm and welcoming and embraces the history of the hotel...and the attention to detail is in every aspect! All of the staff I met were super helpful. There is a great vibe, WiFi is fast and the food is awesome, really awesome. Don't think twice about the booking a bunk bed! They are private, clean and have the perfect amount of storage. I can't recommend The Society Hotel highly enough. Book it! You won't be disappointed.

    Kaz2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Society Hotel was a vey cool, urban and urbane sanctuary with classy interiors, great customer service and patrons from all over the world. The most unique hotel / hostel experience I have had !

    Madhav2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • All I can say about this hotel is WOW. After staying in a more "rustic" hostel the two nights prior, The Society Hotel brought me back to reality with the comforts of a very modern, well-thought-out place to stay. The bunk room is awesome, with roomy, comfy beds, curtains, lockers, and everything I could have needed. The shared kitchen and common areas were great, as well as the private bathrooms, where I had one of the best showers of my life! But the best part of it all was the beautiful lobby and awesome staff. Next time I am in Portland, I will definitely have to stay here again.

    Paloma2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay. Clean, quiet, memorable.

  • It is a great place. People accomdated me are so nice and friendly. It makes people feel safe during the travel.

  • I had high hopes and The Society Hotel exceeded my expectations! The staff is welcoming and accommodating. The bunk and shower areas are clean and quiet. The lobby and rooftop are both great for hanging out, and it's well-located in Portland. I've already recommended TWH to a friend. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Stayed in the funky pad for one night while in Portland.. Paul greeted us with a friendly smile and was very accommodating while we were there, while allowing is space and privacy! The house and neighbourhood were both beautiful and we found a lovely local restaurant nearby. I would Recommend the funky pad for visitors to Portland!!!!

    Erin2013-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place worked out great for us. It had everything we needed with a bit of space to call home. Lovely location in a safe neighbourhood It was great to have street parking right in front and after a day or two we knew our way around many areas of the city. . Paul and Carolyn were very gracious and helpful and the support system they've devised works smoothly and efficiently. They made great restaurant suggestions and were fun to share our experience with when we had time. Comfortable Clean and Funky. Can't say enough. Our first AirBnB experience couldn't have been better and we're delighted ! Thanks P&C Carolyn & Ron

    Carolyn2014-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was so incredibly accomadating. He was able to provide a very late ride from the airport and a ride to union station the very next day. The soace is wonderful and cozy. Right next door to a lovely park with a great playground. Close to a nice market and in a beautiful neighborhood. We are so grateful for Paul and would stay there in a heartbeat for the next time around!

    Kris2015-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's suite is a wonderful space with complimentary tea, coffee and milk! He pays close attention to detail and even has a wine rack priced just right for a couple who enjoy a glass of wine prior to their exploration of the neighborhood!! This loft apartment is a 20 minute bus ride away from Division street a foodies most desirable destination and downtown! Paul is organised, kind and very helpful-he even offered to fetch us from the airport, which was most appreciated especially after the hour long wait for luggage! Thanks for a great stay Paul!

    Tarryn2014-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was accurate, Paul's Funky Pad was delightfully decorated and in a great neighborhood with many restaurants available by foot. My only surprise was that I expected a private entrance, and, the entrance was by going through the main house. Paul was very respectful of our privacy.

    Patricia2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Paul & Carolyn's place was fabulous! The "funky pad suite" is the perfect home away from home, with every comfort you could want. Paul & Carolyn are so friendly & welcoming-they made me feel right at home! They also were spot on with restaurant recommendations & directions to places I wanted to go. I could not have asked for better hosts-Paul & Carolyn, thanks so much for everything; you two are the best! I can't wait to come back :-)

Bright and clean private bedroom just one block off of Mississippi St. district in N. Portland. Minutes from downtown via bike, light rail or car. Easy access to/from the Airport too! Five years in and our five star rating is going strong!
This home is clean, quiet, creative and perfectly situated for an amazingly rich and convenient Portland experience. With a comfortable Queen bed (fits 2), wood floors, ample closet space, garden views and adjacent shared bathroom, you'll feel right at home. Please note that we ask our guests to limit bathroom visits to 15 minutes (especially in the morning) as this space shares a bathroom with an additional Airbnb room. Full access to kitchen, living room with fireplace, and landscaped garden patio with raised beds and seating. The home is full of plants and art from around the world. No pets/Allergen free! The Mississippi St. district is the place to be! Amazing restaurants, food carts, bars, breweries and stellar music venues are literally a minutes walk from the front door. NOT an easy place to get bored! Parking is easy in this safe neighborhood. The MAX light rail system has a stop just minutes away (walking) that can shoot you downtown or drop you off from the airport. Please note that our close proximity to the I-5 freeway does provide some background noise (not really noticeable inside the house). PLEASE NOTE: Arthur and Adam live in an adjacent building on the property. Audra is our house manager and good friend - and lives on the top floor of this home.
Portland's Historic Mississippi District is definitely where you want to stay when visiting the city. A gorgeous and funky stretch full of great shops, award-winning restaurants, an incredible music venue and amazing bars with outdoor patios and inspiring craft cocktails. SUPER easy to get to other parts of the city from here too!
  • Awesome place, excellent location, really easy to take public transportation. Adam's advice was really helpful, nice guy! A great place to stay in Portland.

  • TRULY AMAZING & COZY!!!! Way better than staying downtown, a short walk from mostly everything everyone tells you to go to when you're in Portland. Most boho house ever with a beautiful energy. Didn't see the other people who were staying there once, so it felt like we were in our own cottage. Sharing a bathroom wasn't even that bad. Come stay here if you want experience the Portland vacation you are dreaming of.

  • This was my second time staying with A&A and my first in this particular room. Everything was just as wonderful as it was during my first stay. Check-In was a breeze and near a bunch of neat little restaurants within walking distance. Definitely check out the spots on their Recommendations list; you won't be disappointed! Would absolutely stay here again and recommend this spot to friends and colleagues traveling to Portland! :D

  • Adam and Arthur's place was amazing. Clean, quiet, comfortable, and close to everywhere we wanted to go during our stay in Portland. It's also fun that you get the chance to meet others staying in the home as well, although our run-in's were minimal.

Amazing decor in a beautiful house on a lovely quiet street off of Mississippi Ave. Very comfortable bed, spacious room, large shared bathroom (which was never an issue) and even an outdoor patio to sit an enjoy the stars. We loved the space and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area! Thanks again Adam and Arthur!

This is a large master suite with accommodations for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay: a Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee and tea, a refrigerator, a microwave, dishes, knives, and silverware. The room also has cable TV, Queen size bed, foldout futon sofa, airbed in closet, sitting area & desk. "...the bathroom was unexpectedly awesome with two sinks, and such a large shower with dual heads." Heating and air conditioning is a mini-split which keeps the temperature comfortable and quiet.
Eliot neighborhood is full of popular dining establishments, coffee shops, music venues, parks, and the Matt Dishman community center with in-door swimming pool. • Jere gave me directions to, and offered to pick me up from the local train station. I had a rental car did not take her up on the offer, but very much appreciated it. Jere found out I did not bring my cellphone car charger, so she loaned me one long with a reusable shopping bag. She also gave me an important piece of advice by driving the Old Scenic Highway, instead of just taking the freeway to get to the Bonneville Dam.

    Robert2014-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jere was fantastic! From organising an early check in to helping me pick up my girlfriend at the airport, nothing was too much trouble. The place is beautiful and spotlessly clean, the deck outside is also prefect for outdoor eating or drinking. Definitely one of best air bnb places we've stayed in!

    Ciaran2014-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • I would recommend this place to anyone who visits Portland! Traffic towards North (Alberta Art district or Mississippi St.) and South (Downtown or Hawthorne, even to Division St.) are both really easy to reach, and had no problem wandering around this beautiful city. And moreover, it is super clean and neat, everything was exactly same with the description on the website. Shower was great, Bed was much more than comfortable, Room was really nice and really quiet at night. Everything was really really really nice, and Jerre was easy to communicate and helpful in every way. I am so glad that I could stay at the place! :) Thanks Jerre!

    Kyung Min2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jere's place was great! The room was incredibly spacious for my friend and I for our girls trip to Portland. The kitchenette was perfect for breakfast and snacks. Her house was very close to great restaurants and near a lot of transportation to the rest of Portland. Jere was incredibly nice and picked is up from the MAX stop when we arrived. She was very responsive and helpful with any of our questions. All in all a great trip! Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Jere!

    Marcia2014-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • the accommodations were fine. the host denied guest upstairs came home late and made lots of noise every night from 1-3 am. I was sleep deprived the whole time. and to top it off she booked my room to some one else and texted me that she removed all my stuff. this was awful stay somewhere else ill never yse aur bnb again.

    Rick2016-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • I was a "long term" renter and stayed a month. The room was perfect for me with a large bath and closet. It's in a good location and I'm grateful Jere moved me from the smaller room into the larger one!

    Joan2015-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay here! I was in Portland for a conference at the Oregon Convention Center. There were events throughout the city, and the house is centrally located so it was easy to ride my bike or take Max everywhere I needed to go. The room itself is quite large, with comfy chairs and a desk just the right size for getting some work done on my laptop (and the wireless internet was plenty fast). The bathroom is also large and has a great shower. As a cartographer I also really appreciated the map-themed decor of the room. My favorite part is the little porch right outside the private entrance, it looks out over the garden and was a very pleasant place to relax. Jere was very responsive to all of my emails/texts both before and during my stay. I highly recommend her place!

Our home is beautifully situated across from a quiet park. We are located just a couple blocks walk to restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bus stops on trendy Hawthorne and Division streets.
Our one bedroom, 500 square-foot basement apartment is lovingly decorated in the Northwest Style with touches of Scandinavia. The apartment has separate entrance for your privacy. The bedroom has a queen bed with cozy, fluffy featherbed comforters. The living room has a sofa that converts to double bed with bedding provided. We also have a queen futon available for parties over 4 people. It’s a bit tight for 6 people, but it is possible! We have a little kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower combo with all the essentials provided. We have a television that picks up a few stations, but we do not have cable. Our location is ideal for foodies who want to walk to popular restaurants on SE Hawthorne and SE Division streets. We are directly across the street from a park. The Hawthorne bus (#14) is just 1.5 blocks away and will get you downtown within 10 minutes. We also are walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters, shops, breweries and pubs. Our neighborhood is quiet at night, so we ask that there be no noise after 10:00pm. We are an early-to-bed, early-to-rise family (up at 5:00am) so you may hear us above in the morning.
We are ideally situated between the popular Hawthorne and Division streets. We are 2.5 blocks from the nearest bus stop and are walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters. Best of all we are located right across the street from a park. There is ample parking as well.
  • It's a cute, cozy place! With amenities which is always nice when you're traveling!

  • Jennifer's place felt warm and cozy. You have your own separate entrance and parking was great. close to shops, restaurants, and very convenient when you're on the go! The place was beautifully maintained and communicating with Jennifer was so easy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

  • This place is amazing! Located exactly where we wanted to be - walking distance to Pok Pok, and the amazing Division Street. House was adorable. Bed and couch bed were both very comfortable. We loved the linens. The bedroom window greeter was a nice touch. This is where you want to stay in PDX!

    Elizabeth2017-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with my three-year-old and my one-year-old daughters and it was perfect. The park across the street and the walkability of the neighborhood I could not ask for a better situation. Jennifer and her family were completely respectful of my privacy and my space but also very sweet and accommodating with whatever I needed. Our time did not permit but her daughter even offered to play with my girls which I thought was really sweet. Although the family is upstairs I could barely hear them the only thing is that I would smell coffee in the morning but it didn't bother me at all as it smelled really good. The bathtub is amazing! The bed comfortably slept me and my children we didn't even use the pull out but it was nice to know that if my husband had been with us we would've had plenty of space!

    Michelle2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's place is clean, quiet and lovely. The neighborhood is calm, familial and secure. The apartment is near the hype "Hawthorne boulevard:" the location is thus perfect. I warmly recommend this place to someone who wants to do a short city trip in Portland.

  • We had an amazing time staying at Jennifer's place! It was very convenient to get in and out of the apartment, private, quiet, clean, warm, and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The location is awesome, located right between Hawthorne and Division so there are tons of great places to eat within walking distance. Jennifer was also very responsive when I had questions and was a pleasure to book with. Highly recommend this AirBnB!

  • This place was great! Perfect for two couples and both beds are more than sufficient - one is a foldout (but a nice one) and the other in the bedroom is a double (close to a queen). The upstairs space is easily manipulated for a variety of activities. The outside we didn’t use because of wet weather. Overall we’d stay here again as we got great value for what we paid - you should too!

    Kyle2018-01-29T00:00:00Z

  • The apartment is just one exit off the highway from downtown Portland, so we enjoyed visiting Portland while staying at a suburban pad. Tommy was a very attentive host and responded asap to any questions we had. It was a clean and cheerful apartment and just right for two of us and our college daughter on the pull out couch. We enjoyed walking through the small garden with a rocking chair to get to the front door. Extra half bath and washing machine downstairs was a plus. Walking distance (20 minutes) to coffee shops and great neighborhood walks with charming curb appeal. We will remember this for our next visit!

  • Such a great place! I loved Sara's tiny home. Great SE location, walking distance to Mount Tabor and Hawthorne Street. Great places to eat! And just a quick drive or bike ride to downtown Portland. It was a perfect place for my husband and I for our weekend getaway.

    Rob2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beware of petty upcharges. We thought that we had a great stay at Sara's place until after leaving she charged us extra for a minisule stain on a towel that we were in no way responsible for.

    Vanessa2018-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Sara's cute tiny house! It had everything that we needed for our 3 night stay. The location was great as it allowed us to enjoy the local scene and also go downtown easily using the bus or Lyft. I would highly recommend staying at Sara's tiny house.

  • Stayed at Open Rafters for three days and had a wonderful experience! Perfect location for checking out Portland (I took public transit the entire time and had no issues whatsoever). The space is clean, comfortable, and a great place to come back to after a full day's outing. Thanks Sara!

    Lora2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's place is one of my favorites. It is a tiny space but not too tiny. Enough space to not feel closed in. The windows allows tons of light in that even when it is rainy there is light. It has everything you need- shower, kitchen, even a bluetooth speaker which makes it a home away from home 100%.

    Nancy2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a nice place! We had an awesome stay in the the tiny home. Even though we didn’t get to meet Sara personally, the check in was smooth. The place was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed!

Other great attributes: - Close to downtown, and about 15 minutes from the airport. - Incredible restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, art galleries, music, and street art are a short walk or bike ride away. - One block from public transportation that drops you downtown before you know it! - Close to our favorite grocery store (New Seasons) with organic food, local products, and an excellent source for gifts or mementos of your stay. - Beautiful Woodlawn, Alberta and Fernhill Parks are within 6 -12 blocks away, or head to Forest Park for great hiking in the middle of the city. - Concordia University is two blocks away, and a great place to stop by to watch a baseball or soccer game in their beautiful open stadium, check out their grounds or wander into the library.

    Rebecca2018-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • This space was even cuter than I expected. Very clean. Easy and detailed check-in instructions. Easy parking. Safe neighborhood with lots of quirky places for food and drinks nearby, and Melissa was incredibly hospitable and accessible if needed. Overall, we had a great time staying here and would definitely recommend it.

    Tess2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • It's a BIG basement room with a bed on one side, and a FULL kitchen on the other. Large bathroom. Even has a fireplace. Warm and cozy. (Snowed for Xmas while we were there.) Nice amenities all around. One or two people could easily spend several days there while experiencing Portland. It's right near Concordia Univ, which means a pleasant walk over to Alberta shops/restaurants. Melissa is very responsive, but the whole process is so easy, you won't really need to ask for anything. Check-in is super easy. Lots of street parking too. This is our old 'hood, and we'd stay here again for sure.

I'm offering a comfortable clean bedroom in the best neighborhood in Portland. Self check in so late night arrivals are no problem. On all major bus lines. New Seasons market one block away and 20+ restaurants in a 15 block radius. Free street parking. LGBTQ friendly. 3 small dogs live here so if you don't love dogs, this is not the place for you.
I'm offering a bedroom in my four bedroom home on the main floor right next to the shared bathroom. The bed is a comfy queen size. My home has a back porch with a cozy deck for eating breakfast and sipping coffee and a picnic area under the arbor for dinner and relaxing. The dogs can be a bit intense, but Rocky is always down for a head scratch.
Dozens of excellent restaurants within walking distance of the house. Two grocery stores within 4 blocks. Major bus lines will take you downtown in ten minutes. Our neighborhood is quiet and clean in the heart of Portland's biking community. We're also within walking distance to the Aladdin Theater so come see a show while you're here!
  • Kara es muy amable y siempre dispuesta a ayudarte. El vecindario esta muy bonito y de fácil acceso Kara nos presto sus bicicletas para poder movernos en la ciudad.

  • Cute house and nice size room! It was an amazing stay in Portland

    Cortney2017-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kara's place was great for our trip to Portland, definitely the walking paradise advertised here. Bars, restaurants and shops all within a few minutes and even closer than they look on the map.

    Grey2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Kara's place! She was very accommodating with our unknown arrival time and everything felt very easy. The house is in a wonderful location and as it says, this spot really is 'walkers bliss'. All of the housemates, including her three sweet dogs, were super friendly and made us feel like we were welcome guests. I would highly recommend Kara's place and will certainly look to book it again the next time we are in Portland.

    Nichole2014-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Kara made me feel beyond comfortable with staying in her home. She was welcoming the moment we got to her house. She showed us everything in the house and explained and mentioned everything we needed to know while staying in her home. She's very laid back and has a lovely daughter that is very eager to welcome guests :) The room was a good small size. I felt comfortable sleeping in the room and it was a very quiet neighborhood. There's a farmer's market there happened on a week day, so that was a great plus! The store is walking distance and I liked how convenient the location of her home was. It's close to Hawthorne, close to the Hollywood district, downtown, etc. I highly recommend staying here whilst in PDX!

    sabrina2017-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place was lovely. Impeccably clean, light and nicely fitted out space, with all the amenities you would want. Excellent location, in a great neighborhood - quiet and leafy, easy walking distance to great shops and restaurants on division and hawthorne and a short bus ride to down town. Sari was very welcoming and easy to communicate with. It was a great place for us and we wouldrecommend it to others. The only note would be that the courtyard in front of the unit is really a shared space and noise from the adjoining main yard and pool very audible from the unit. This did not bother us, but may be worth thinking about if privacy a concern.

    Mark2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful Air BnB in Portland! It was a great location, with easy access via biking to lots of fun places to eat and hang. Ed and Sari were wonderful host. We had accidentally left our itinerary and map. They held onto it for us and were accommodating when we had to come back and pick it up.

    Olivia2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for SE Portland. Everything in the house was clean and well organized. Ed and Sari were easy to get a hold of and provided a lot of great information.

  • Nice Airbnb. Kitchen is laundry were very useful. The neighborhood was nice too. We enjoyed walking around.

    Kazuo2017-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation is extra ordinary in every way. Sari is an excellent host. We truly enjoyed our stay. It was home away from home in a lovely neighborhood. We will stay there again when we return to Portland. Perfect location to walk to all that Hawthorne Ave has to offer. Easy excess to the busline going downtown.

Comfortable, modern basement studio with private entrance, only minutes away from downtown and located in safe, quiet Piedmont neighborhood with plenty of on-street parking. Comfy queen size bed, private bath, private kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hot water maker, and all the basic amenities.
Warm and cozy space for two with modern furnishings and its own complete kitchen and bathroom.
Piedmont is a quiet, family oriented neighborhood. There is a large city park a few blocks away with a beautiful rose garden, tennis courts and public pool. The trendy Alberta Arts and Mississippi neighborhoods are nearby.
  • I loved Roberts place! Nicer than some hotels I’ve stayed in. It’s super roomy and the fact that you have your own kitchen is so helpful! The place isn’t far from the city! Only about a $10 lyft ride. Would definitely recommend!

    Caitlen2018-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Robert’s place is super cute, modern, clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed and more. He’s space is well maintained inside and out. Secure entrance and neighborhood. It was quiet during our stay. We used Uber to make our way into the the main part of the city. Just 10 mins away and reasonably priced. We didn’t get a chance to meet Robert but this allowed for some privacy and he was very communicative responding to our texts within a reasonable amount of time. We would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Portland. Highly recommend!

    Erica2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's home is beautiful and the apartment is so modern! The bed is super comfy as well! Robert was very responsive to any of our requests. Check in and out was very straightforward. We enjoyed our stay!

  • if you are looking for a comfortable stay just outside the city of Portland then this is it. Robert is extremely friendly and easy to contact. he felt secure in our studio that was bigger than expected with all the amenities we could ever want and need. even with a little hiccup where's our access code Robert was quick to respond and fix the issue. Silvers are about $10 to the city. you can come and go with ease as you please. if you have a tired there's plenty of parking in the neighborhood. by far the best Airbnb I've ever stayed in.

This 3rd floor loft is located in the N. Williams District, on a main bike route, across the street from a bus stop, close to the street car and light rail. It is an eclectic 900 sqft self contained unit with amazing views on the top floor of a 1900's Victorian. This stretch of Williams Ave has a more industrial feel but we are just a few blocks from eateries & libations. Walk to the Convention Center, Moda Center and the Pearl District.
-The view is amazing. -Efficiency style open kitchen with 2 stove top burners, toaster oven, french press, cookware, full dishware & glassware plus a real fridge with freezer. -comfy queen bed & nice Egyptian cotton sheets -new heating system with Air Conditioning! -2 wifi networks -a slew of information & maps on Portland & surrounding areas such as the Columbia Gorge, Oregon Coast, wine country etc. -Walk to the heart of the Williams District -Walk to the convention Center & Moda -Walk into the Pearl District (20min.)
Building on its reputation for bicycles, beers and brunch, the Williams District has evolved into a dynamic, must-see destination for locals and visitors alike. With its broad array of eateries, breweries, characters, shops and services, the district is a veritable composite of all the best Portland has to offer. The Williams District includes more than 150 businesses and is also defined by its rich cultural history. In the 1940s and ’50s, Williams Avenue was teeming with jazz clubs and speakeasies. Today located just down the street is the historic Billy Webb elks lodge. On a Friday or Saturday night it is not rare to sit on the deck and hear the DJ spinning.
  • Our visit was very true to its description. We can't say enough to how beautiful and organized the loft was for our stay. Not to mention how close everything around us was. We found our way to Pearl and Alberta District that were within a 2 mile radius from our stay. Additionally, Tyra provided us with tea and snacks that was super thoughtful. The convenience and ease of the location made our stay in Portland comfortable and relaxing. Tyra was very accommodating to our questions and provide us with guidance on events in the area. She was great on every aspect of being a host and we plan on staying at this location again.

    Crystal2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the loft was so comfortable and Tyra made everything very easy. The view was fantastic and all of the features were well thought out. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to others!

    Christy & Jesse2015-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tyra was very quick communicating with us and very helpful. The place inside was very clean and nice. The view is excellent. Take into consideration than you have to walk up to a fourth floor so if you are carrying big luggage it could be a little difficult, but it is worth it.

    Leonardo2015-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tyra was an excellent host. She provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The location of the loft is in a great spot. The MAX only being a couple blocks away, I was always able to go in and out of the city very easily. Also walking distance from a great breakfast and pizza spot was really convenient. The loft's view of the city is nothing short of incredible. I found myself sitting on the deck just gazing at the mountains and city lights often. The space is very well put together. Unlike a big hotel downtown, this place has a nice Portland charm. The bed is so incredibly comfortable by the way. The neighborhood surrounding was never an issue. I felt fine walking back at night with no problem. Overall it's an amazing spot. I highly recommend staying here. If I return to Portland, this would be my number one pick.

    Connor2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tyra was so nice and accommodating! This loft really made our stay in Portland memorable. Its cozy, clean and that view is killer!

    Zack2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Nothing to add.

    Adam2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was provided for at the loft. Tyra was on hand at all times to answer all our questions about about public transportation, shopping and places to eat. The loft was a lovely little oasis with grape vines and actual grapes (!) that we got to pick and eat, some breakfast basics and snacks, everything was clean and soothing after a nice 20-min walk from Pearl via the Broadway Bridge. Tyra was also nice enough to return the bike helmets we forgot to drop off. ;)

    Charisse2014-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • One word to describe Tyra's place: perfect. Great location, many good restaurants, bars and markets around. Apartment is in excellent shape you'll find everything you'll need for your stay, it has an amazing view of the city which my parents and i enjoyed a lot. Tyra is a great host too, very attentive and easy to reach. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to beautiful Portland. Thanks Tyra!

  • Kurt and Nathalie have a beautiful studio in a great neighborhood! It's very close to delicious restaurants on Division and Clinton streets. Super easy access to all of southeast Portland. This was a great hub for exploring the city and having a nice quiet place to relax. Thank you both for your generosity, information and kindness! Portland was one of our favorite stops on this cross country road trip!

    Leslie2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was perfect in every respect. Not only was the studio warm and inviting and comfortable but there were loads of little things like the maple syrup and the stocked larder and the laundry and the burts bees products in the bathroom. Can't find fault in any single way. Loved it. Didn't want to leave. Hopefully will come back.

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D
  • We absolutely loved staying the in South Tabor Cottage. Where can I begin with the things we loved about it? It was so cute and cozy (and smelled amazing), and had anything and everything that we needed. The bed was comfortable and check in was a breeze. Lisa's breakfast was to die for- really- it was SO good. The location was a quick drive to anywhere in Portland. We would love to come back again!

    Erica2014-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was amazing and the microhome is adorable. I live in Portland but wanted to give my boyfriend a Portland experience by staying here, and my expectations were happily met. Lisa was so warm and inviting to us, and so amazingly kind to our two annoying dogs. I felt bad that our puppy kept barking one night, but Lisa didn't mention it at all when she delivered her truly delicious breakfast- I'm not sure if that means the cabin has great sound proofing or if Lisa is just an incredibly gracious host, either way I'm impressed! The bed was so comfortable I would have gladly foregone sightseeing to stay in. The cabin was toasty warm despite the literally freezing temperature outside. And the kitchen was a nice feature that we unexpectedly ended up using one evening when we had to stay in with a sick pup. We had a great romantic holiday and would love to stay again- although I learned my lesson and will never travel without the crate, A.K.A. mobile doggy bedroom

  • We loved this place! Great location and cute cottage. Breakfast is such a treat! We will be back:)

  • South Tabor Cottage was wonderful! It was very clean, cute and comfortable. Lisa was an extremely gracious host and a MARVELOUSLY cook. Breakfast each morning was delicious and a fantastic way to start the day.

  • The South Tabor Cottage is an amazing getaway near Mt. Tabor in Portland. Lisa is a terrific host and made us an amazing breakfast! I definitely recommend this cottage and would stay again! Thanks!

    David2013-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's house was very inviting and we had always wanted to try out a "tiny house" concept. As we have two daughters in Portland, we knew we wouldn't be there all that much, but wanted a comfy bed, friendly host, quiet neighborhood and easy in and out. We got all that and ... eggs benedict hand-made by Lisa and delivered to the door in the morning! Not bad - clean, but (Website hidden by Airbnb) is a "tiny" house, so hold it to 2 max!

    Barbara2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was a great host, always ready to inform and helps us in our vacation. The meals generously made for us where delicious and a great way to start the day. The cottage itself was also very comfortable. Although small you still are very comfortable. And it is close to many good restaurants and shoppes.

    Max2014-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage was so comfortable. I absolutely loved it! Lisa was a very nice host and a wonderful cook. I enjoyed the breakfast she delivered on a tray - what a bonus! And I think this neighborhood is so beautiful. If I could live in Portland, I would want to live on this street. I love trees and Mt. Tabor (just a few blocks away) is like a forrest. I had the best time jogging there and seeing all the sweet dogs. I would definitely stay here again!

If you want to explore Portland on a budget, you can bring your own food and drinks! There is a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in your room, as well as slippers. The bathroom next to the room is very clean and bright. I take great care with comfort and Décor as I am a designer. Shower is big and brand new. This is in the basement of a family home so you can hear the sounds of our lives sometimes. Other times it is quiet. Besides your room and bathroom, the rest of the large basement is unfinished. The basement has high ceilings and is clean but the floors are concrete. The floors are concrete in your room too but there are plush rugs down. If you book 4 or more days in a row, I will apply a 10% discount after you book.
The neighborhood is very charming, quiet and green. Have a beautiful uphill walk to Mount Tabor (an actual volcano!) and enjoy one of the most gorgeous parks in the city, with a great view of Portland. Walk to Stark Street for coffee, beer and food. 82nd Street boasts some of the most authentic Asian food in the city. It's actually ethnically diverse in this neighborhood which is refreshing.
  • Claudia had so many recommendations already listed on her page for food and things to do, but she also suggested a great Hot Pot place when my boyfriend and I were hungry for Chinese food! The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the little coffee pot in the room was a life-saver. There isn't a shower downstairs so you have to give her a heads up before going upstairs, but she was always accommodating. The neighborhood was cute and quiet and really close to Mt. Tabor and not too far from downtown! You are in the basement, so you can hear footsteps above you but that didn't bother us too much at all. The house was lovely and Claudia was equally as lovely!

  • Good location, clean, simple and great people. Easy check in/out and very private, would definitely stay again if in the area.

  • A great place to stay for a quick trip to Portland. Be aware, this spot shares a shower with the host upstairs, so you'll need to be mindful of sharing the shower.

  • Had a great stay at Claudia’s! She was super friendly and it was a very private place. I loved all the tapestries and the snacks/coffee/tea was a nice touch! Would stay here again.

Lovely 2 br. cottage nestled beside a pond w water feature. Kitchen, open sleeping loft with skylights, bath w shower and washer/dryer. Lots of natural light. Can accommodate an entire family comfortably. Private entry on lg. lot through gated backyard.
Nestled in the back corner of a large lot under the canopy of a beautiful mimosa tree, this private cottage offers a full kitchen with sit-up bar, a full bath with a washer/dryer, and a sleeping loft with crow's nest. It's perfect for a couple, two couples, or a small family.
And all of this just 15 minutes from downtown.
  • A great location and easy access to Portland as well as lots of local eats and brews!

    Susan2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. Great hosts.

    Christina2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Opening the gate you hear the gentle cascade of the waterfall on the pond that will lull you to sleep each night if the weather is right and you leave the small bedroom loft window open. It truly is a serene and relaxing location. Coffee and tea supplies awaited us along with all essentials for the kitchenette and bath. Adjacent to Division St and a short walk to Hawthorne, we could have spent a couple weeks dining out for each meal at someplace new. An easy bike ride or quick Car2Go to downtown. If the weather had turned, we would have been content to stay in and order food in. Jack and Cris were readily available, but we found nothing lacking. The only downside to staying here is you may not want to leave.

    John2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. A quaint neighborhood, close to just about everything, but private enough to feel at home. The cabin was amazing, and just as wonderful as described. Jack and Cris were super responsive and provided everything we needed. There were 4 of us this trip, and the space was a perfect size for us to enjoy without being too crowded. Also, the pond outside was picturesque and serene. If we make another trip to Portland, we will stay here again. 5 stars all the way around!!!

    Joseph2018-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, cute cottage in a quiet neighborhood close to great restaurants!!

    anita2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Cris set us up with a lovely welcome given we were late getting to Portland. Their thoughtfulness and consideration was evident throughout our stay as they sensed our desire for privacy and gave it as well as provided an AC unit in the cottage before we arrived to ameliorate the unseasonably high temps the days we were there and for the upcoming weekend and future guests. The consciousness with which they live and have created the property's environment is evident and while my blissmate and I are more used to hotels than Airbnb, we appreciated the neighborhood immersion and access to Division Street. A personal preference of ours is for a solid firm mattress and the cottage mattress wasn't quite comfortable for us however we got a good night sleep each night we were there and enjoyed the Portland rain on the roof and skylights above. We would recommend the cottage or the other structure on this property for anyone who enjoys a quiet, pleasant, easygoing stay with a minimum of excess and a whole lot of peace.

    Ross2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot to stay for work or play. Can get downtown in 10 mins. Twenty from the airport. Restaurants and bars are very walkable. Bed is cozy and parking is easy peasy.

    Graydon2018-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was in a beautiful setting and was perfect for my husband and me plus my sister who claimed the upstairs room. The location was convenient for walking to fun dining and we always found parking right out front. Would definitely stay again. Thanks!

  • This place was one of our favorite Airbnbs we've visited. Perfect location for foodies and for exploring Portland. Well thought-out space and cool decor. We really enjoyed meeting Chuck and his pet bird, Cornelius, to boot. Fantastic communication. All around a great experience.

    Jen2016-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck and Annika were very welcoming to my friend and I during our stay. We were greeted by a welcome sign and cookies! The place was perfect for the two of us! Loved the decor of the place. They had a list of suggested places to go eat within walking distance from the apartment. It was perfect! The only trouble we had was trying to get the TV to work ;-/. They worked with us to get it up and running. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

  • Good communication, cute apartment! Clean, welcoming, and had delicious cookies waiting. Thanks for the great experience :)

  • Very nice, clean place. Lots of convenient touches including a little kitchen-y area with a mini-fridge and microwave as well as towels / shampoo / soap / hairdryer in the bathroom. Unfortunately we were in town for a wedding and didn't get to explore the neighborhood too much but we did walk to Pok Pok.

    Stephanie2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was the PERFECT location for us! So close to amazing restaurants and fun shops. I love that Chuck and Annika's place is in a non-touristy neighborhood, so I really felt like a local. They gave us great food recommendations. The basement apartment was private and so clean. They even left us two cookies when we arrived. Yum!! Thank you, Chuck and Annika for a great trip to Portland!

    Meg2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • John and Annika have done a wonderful job of meeting all of the needs of their renters. This place has kitchen and bathroom supplies, books and maps of the surrounding areas, suggestions of places to see and eat, games and book. It was very clean and comfy. We would definitely come back again!

    Diane2015-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The location and the space were perfect for our stay exploring Portland and surrounds. On street parking really convenient. The list of excellent local food provided was spot on and well used. Highly recommend staying here.

  • Chuck and Annika’s place was perfect for our SE Portland stay. It was clean, comfortable and the location was great. It is located on a quiet street. Parking is easy and there is public transportation nearby. The kitchenette is limited but there are so many fun restaurants, cafes, etc nearby that we loved the excuse to eat out. We could have gotten prepared foods from a nearby grocery but it wouldn’t have been as much fun! Loved the shower and bathroom. Enjoyed the apartment—thank you!

  • Good room in a nice and clean house! Saw Phil just one time, but everything was arranged well. Would stay at his place again.

    Petra2016-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Super easy to get in and out. There's flowers everywhere. Close to Safeway and a pretty cute family owned bakery.

    Hyon2015-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a casual weekend visit to Portland. Phil offered a comfortable and affordable place to stay in a nice neighborhood that was also central enough to make getting around town by car a breeze. (Even without a car, public transport was in very close proximity) The room we stayed in was newly renovated with private bath with fresh linens, towels and sheets. The layout of the house also made it very easy to find privacy in your room ... Likewise if we had stayed longer, I'm sure we would have made use of the great kitchen, spacious living room or kicked back on the deck out front as Phil reminded us to feel at home. Phil was easy going and was happy to make suggestions for things to do around town. Bottom line: would stay here again eithout hesitation.

    Andreas2015-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Phil was an incredibly welcoming host and truly made me feel at home while I was there. The house itself is great, and it's exactly like what you see in the pictures. It was previously a bed and breakfast, so even though you're sharing a space, it feels very private. I loved being able to escape the crowded hotel during the conference I was attending and retreat back to my nice, quiet sanctuary.

    Mariella2015-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend to other travelers , Great Location , Great price , Great accommodation all around.

    Brad2015-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Phil's place! The rooms are spacious and clean. It's in 5 min walking distance to Broadway with quite a few options for dining and drinks. Downtown is just 15mins away by bus or tram. Phil's neighborhood is really neat with family homes around and quiet enough to sleep through. Its 100% approved and we'd stay there again any time!

    George & Tony2015-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for the great stay!

    Diane2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location on a quiet street. Kitchen and organization of what was there was very good. Bed in Rm #1 was poor (for us)... you could feel the springs and not enough support for a good sleep. However, overall the stay was excellent and met all of our requirements. Rm #1 also has an attached private bath which was very nice. Barring the bed, I'd give these folks high marks for making our weekend away a great experience. Note: Uber is a great way to get around in Portland from here. Inexpensive and very quick response.

  • Hands down the best airbnb experience I've had. The room is spacious, clean and with a microwave, fridge, private bathroom (including a jacuzzi) it's practically a private apartment. The neighborhood has plenty of cafes, restaurants and is close to public transportation. As nice as the accommodations were, the best part of this airbnb is the host. Roland is a highly personable man who has led a long and interesting life. I count my conversations with him among the highlights of my visit to Portland.

    Eric2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay! Very easy to walk to places to eat. A view of the night sky via sky lights! Great bath too!

    Lucy2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Roland was a wonderful host, although I didn't see him much during my stay. He was friendly, welcoming and accomodating, and the room was exactly as described. The loft is a nice studio-space in a very convenient location for a great value. The space itself is nicely furnished–comfortable bed, private bath, cute little dining area... The neighborhood is quiet-but-busy. It was great to easily walk to so many places. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

    Michelle2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the most amazing stay I had anywhere! Roland was very accommodating and a gracious host, he was never in the way, even with my late check in no issues. The location is very convenient to my needs. Stores, shops, bars, restaurants and public transportation all within walking distance! I could go on about my host, Roland, he told me places to, gave me a little history of Oregon and even took me to the airport for my return flight! Awesome!!!!!

    Michael 2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Roland and his place are both SO wonderful! I would highly recommend his space to anyone looking to have a unique, fun, warm & welcoming stay in Portland!

    Breanna Marie2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Roland's house. The day I arrived, Roland was kind enough to pick me up in his car to drive me to his house. He is friendly, organized, and always happy to help. The house is in a great area, close to top food spots in Portland. Easily accessible by public transport. The loft itself is perfectly sized, with many windows and feels light and airy. I would definitely stay again!

    Lara2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mr. Roland was very open with his home and anything I needed (like Ranch Dressing for my chicken strips)! My faves are the deck/view and the jacuzzi tub. Definitely enjoyed that!

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • Very sweet space. It was charming and felt like a home away from home. The Tiny House was a great point from which to base our explorations of Portland's neighbourhoods. It's very close to really great brunch restaurants, craft beer spots and cute boutique shops. We didn't get a chance to meet Jenny and Michael, but I spoke to Michael twice on the phone and he was friendly and helpful. They even bought a bike lock for us to use during our stay because they knew we were bringing our bikes! Both mornings we awoke to little birds chirping outside of the window and it really felt like we were in a country setting and not in the middle of a neighbourhood - very quiet and calm. My only small criticism (and it is very small!) was that it is chilly in the winter/early spring. This detail is mentioned in the description, so it wasn't a surprise and I had my fluffy sheepskin slippers. The space heaters warmed it up nicely and we actually brought one up into the sleeping loft to keep us cozy at night. Overall, a delightful stay in Portland for those looking for a clean, charming and unique spot (hotels are boring, right?)! Recommended.

    Erin2013-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay we loved it.

    Kelly2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Overall we had a great stay at the Rustic Modern Tiny House. The AC unit in the home didn't work upon our arrival so we reached out to Jenna who was quick to respond. Since it was late in the day she was going to to follow up in the morning; so we just slept with the windows open. Ultimately we called her back and told her not to worry about the AC because of how nice it was. Not all of the windows have screens but it wasn't a big deal since there was no rain in the forecast. The only other problem we had was on the first night around 3am and the next day while we were out and about someone came into the fenced in area and hung out. It was a little disconcerting. Luckily we had a clip that we could attach to the fence latch to "secure" the gate. After we did that we didn't have any other instances of uninvited guests. Overall we had a great experience and would stay there again. Jenna and Michael were super responsive and friendly.

  • Very cute house in a great location. Plenty of eats and drinks within walking distance.

    Jerry2015-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED our stay at the tiny house! It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location has perfect proximity to so many fun areas to explore in and around the city. With our bikes and the tiny house as our home base, we were able to have a fantastic Portland adventure. Thanks Michael and Jenny for the stay! Perhaps we shall cross paths in LA some day!

    Kristin & Andrew2013-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay. The spot was just as cool as expected - clean, charming, and well-decorated.

    Emily2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • I'm about 5'4, and the tiny modern rustic house was perfect for me. The place is really nicely furnished, and close to some pretty hip bars and restaurants. There's plenty of parking nearby for folks with cars. The house has a bit of a treehouse feel, and if you enjoy cozy cottages, you'll love this walden-esque pad in a quiet suburb.

    Tracy2013-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was a unique little spot for a weekend in Portland. Things we loved: 1. The neighborhood! Walking distance to all the essentials - good lunch spot (Lardo was extra yummy), organic grocery store, coffee lounge and cocktail spot. 2. The character of the place. The design and charm made it truly one of a kind. 3. The availability of bikes and outside patio. Like Jenny and Michael describe, the place is called the tiny house for a reason. There is certain functionality that is lost due to the size. I would recommend a weekend but no longer. Thanks for a unique portland experience Michael and Jenny!

Staying with Genie and George was lovely, although we only met Genie. We were 3 people who stayed in this room and it was totally spacious enough - although we spent most of our time out and about. The neighbourhood super great, we loved Mississippi! Genie was really friendly and helpful, giving us some tips and suggestions for what to do. Additionally she was very accommodating our requests to arrive slightly earlier in the day to leave our bags. Accessing transit was incredibly easy, both the MAX and buses. I would 100% recommend staying here, especially if you're looking for a small, cool area to stay.
