  • We enjoyed our stay in Lance's unique home, especially the spectacular views. Lance welcomed us warmly and gave us a tour, explaining the history of his home. It served as a great base for exploring Portland.

    Libby2015-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • We felt a bit awkward the first night with some of the stories Lance told about previous guests. The second night at 7 PM we came back to a quiet house we thought was empty. After half an hour we hear loud moans and yelling. We packed and left immediately. After AirBNB mediation we were provided with more context regarding our concerns. The Saul Zaik Treehouse is as advertised- an amazing structure with breath taking views. It is well decorated and clean.

    Sonja2016-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay, breathtaking views of Portland, Lance was an excellent host. Get up early to see the sunrise over Portland!! Simply amazing.

    Katherine2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lance's home is truly amazing, with stunning views of Portland as well as of the forest canopy surrounding his home. And Lance himself was a gracious and unobtrusive host.

    Barbara2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Unique space, accommodating host, great access. So much better than any hotel.

    Paul2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Tree House exceeded expectations: Lance, our host, extended his wit, implacable taste and a telescope for us to view the Blood Moon eclipse.

    Sean2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • This experience was positive in every way. Communications were clear and arrangements were accomodating to our needs. I enjoyed the view and was given every opportunity to use the space for yoga, writing and a comfortable sleep. It's clean, bright and located with the best of Portland outdoors in mind! Thanks Lance

    Lisa2015-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Lance was great! The treehouse is an amazing space to see and the view from our room was beautiful. Lance was helpful and super flexible with checking in and out. We'd definitely recommend Lance's space for any Portland visitors looking for a unique place!

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • The cottage was comfortable and utterly charming. Radiant heat keeps it pleasantly warm. It is super close to numerous staples of the Portland food scene on Division. I would definitely recommend the cottage.

    Jacob2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. Cozy and quiet. We will definitely bee returning.

    Mitchell2017-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful! It is within walking distance to great restaurants and bars nearby. The cottage came with several resting areas outside which is perfect with sunny weather. We didn't reach out to Jack and Cris for much, but they were helpful when we arrived. I would definitely stay here again.

    Selina2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Cris were very hospitable and made our first Airbnb stay a great one! This is a really unique spot in Portland and even our Uber drivers were jealous. Haha.

    Grella2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy, artistic spot. The cob cottage was warm and comfortable, the bathroom and sitting area were comfortable and well appointed. You can feel the creativity here. It was also very quiet and serene. A definite go to for a relaxing stay in Portland.

    Mary2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great spot to rest and relax while exploring Portland for a weekend. Jack and Cris’s cottage is charming and exactly as described. We loved the local coffee they provided in the sitting area.

    Meagan2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Really unique, loved the roof and skylights in the circular room.

    Curtis2017-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a magical place to stay. The house is made with such love and attention to details. We loved the feel of staying in such a natural room. We appreciated the little artistic touches in the sunroom, bathroom and yard as well. It was a lovely stay for our babymoon. Thank you!

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • We had such a great time on our visit to Portland! Andrée's tiny house was perfect!! It had everything we needed, very cozy. It actually really opened our eyes to more Eco-friendly living, and gave us great ideas of projects and little things we can change everyday to help our Mother Earth! Loved the cottage and all the windows/light in the morning!! So much greenery surrounding the house made us feel like we were sleeping outdoor-minus the bugs ;) definitely will recommend Andrées place to my friends and family! Good location!!

    Priscilla2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little cozy spot for a couple! The stay was great, with a nice loft & a great host! Definitely recommend it.

    Savanna2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a charming and unique place to stay. My sister and I really enjoyed ourselves.

    Kat2013-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Andree was very fast in her replies to my last minute reservation. The studio was cute, snug and warm on a blustery Portland night.

    Lisa2013-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was great! Very knowledgable about local spots to visit including restaurants and funky spaces. And the accommodations are VERY Portland :)

    Ashley2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Andree was a great host and a cool lady! We got in a little later than expected our first night but she was really welcoming. The little house is very cute and cozy and has everything you'd need for a weekend getaway. Andree was so kind and suggested some really fun things but also lets you have your privacy and space. Thanks for hosting us and Andee!

    Miya2015-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed in Andree's cabin for two nights. She was super friendly and welcoming. The cabin was comfortable and relaxing. Short walk to a small local market with a kitchen and beer, lots of fresh food. Only a short drive to downtown Portland. All in all it was a nice place to stay.

    Talon2015-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfection! Andrée is a sweetheart and communicates very well! The space is adorable and comes with little treats like espresso shots and nutrition bars. I had never been to Portland before, but staying here allowed me quick access to the Alberta Street art walk, amazing cafes, and lots of cute shops. The house is in a very charming neighborhood, and I slept soooo well in the loft. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to see the most colorful parts of Portland! It’s a gem, and the price is unbeatable!

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, a queen bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv including HBO, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a queen bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • La casa es muy bonita y limpia. Todo funciona: chimenea, agua caliente, estufa... Todo. El barrio es hermoso. Parece de un cuento. El acceso al centro de la ciudad es fácil y más o menos rápido.

    Pixel2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jason and Hannah’s place is fantastic. It’s located in a beautiful and quiet residential area but close to fun restaurants and entertainment. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again!

    Anna2018-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Immediate response to a last minute request for booking was wonderfully appreciated. Jason showed up with a carafe of fresh brewed coffee that he spoke of with words associated with a sommelier. This unit was serendipitously most excellent for charging our electric car (110v) as well as the load in and load out. Parked directly next to the door shown in the photo. There was a big stack of wood for the fireplace which we kept burning all night. It was a warm Northwest experience with the rain outside. The building itself ranks high in turn of the century charm, with the hardwood floors, high ceilings, and built-ins. Multi thread count beddings and comfortable pillows. I suggest a led light bar parallel to the bathroom mirror and some small custom shelves, as there were none in the bathroom. The top of the fireplace hearth was a good second. Also would like a microwave. It is a charming place and we would return without hesitation. Thank you Jason!

  • Had a great time!

    Amanda2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little cozy studio space! It's a bit far from the rest of Portland, but this was our second location so it was nice to be a bit secluded. It is connected to the rest of the house but there is a private side entrance! Such a stylish space!

    Annabel2018-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in NE Portland, under an hour walk to downtown, comfortably fits 2. Hosts were communicative and friendly. Highly recommend!

    Mark2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • As I rated, the place was quiet and well isolated from the noisy area. It would be a good place for resting.

    Karim2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • A clean, vintage studio in a stunning neighborhood. Spartan and well organized, and the host left some great coffee that got me through a few days of early mornings. Very comfortable stay.

Major shopping, wonderful restaurants and one of Portland's most beautiful parks are all within walking distance. This ideal location is only two blocks from a major bus line and 5 blocks from the MAX train. If we are home when you arrive, we will be happy to give you a tour of our home and offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine while you have complete access to our English gardens, courtyard and barbecue during your stay. We think you will be pleased if you choose to stay in the "Quaint English Garden Apartment " located in our beautiful historic home!
Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • This apartment is a wonderful place to stay while visiting Portland. It has everything we needed including a large bathroom with lots of towels and places to put our stuff. The closet in the bedroom was plenty big for us and we appreciated the hangers. We stayed for six nights so we like to unpack everything. And, we liked being able to do our laundry right there in the apartment -- very convenient. Also, the apartment has very nice furnishings and decor. It is a quiet and private place even though it is in the basement. It is close to downtown and other places to visit around Portland. And, the drive to the airport took about 15 minutes. Bob & Sue have a lovely home and they were very welcoming. We feel very fortunate to get to stay there, and we enjoying their cat, Snowball.

    Betty2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time as the first Airbnb guests in the apartment! Bob and Sue take great pride in their home and garden, and it was a treat to stay there. Highlights include the dreamy bed and sunny gardens. We didn't realize from the photos that the apartment was in the basement, but it was spotless, spacious, well-lit and we had full access to the gardens outside during out stay. Kitchen was well-equipped. Our hosts were generous with their time, picking us up from the train station and taking us on a driving tour of the nearby neighborhoods to check out. Very responsive when we called with questions. Bus stops are a block away and convenient, with friendly and informative drivers. Takes about 30 min to get downtown on public transit. The airport is easily accessible by MAX. Quiet and beautiful neighborhood. Highly recommended!

    Diane2012-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay was wonderful. The place is lovely! Check in and out smooth as could be! Clean, neat and cute!! Loved having a washer and dryer.

    Sandi2014-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Bob and Sue's home. Sue graciously gave us a tour of the main house plus the rich history. The apartment was very private and so much more than we hoped for, so charming! Our last morning, she set an outdoor garden table for us so we could provide breakfast for my daughter and her boyfriend. We are so grateful for this lovely morning.

    Pat2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved this airbnb, very beautiful garden upon entering the gate and beautiful curb appeal as well. The apartment was just as lovely, very clean and neat in appearance. Everything was neatly placed and organized. The bed was very comfortable. Loved the decor in the vintage kitchen. We enjoyed the beautiful backyard garden that is accessible from the apartment. Bob and Sue are great host, very friendly and welcoming. Sue made suggestions of what to do in the area as well as where to eat. The location is great because it's close to downtown and also walking distance to parks and restuarants, coffee shops and boutiques. Overall we loved our stay, the only negative it was to short of a visit. If you love flowers and beauty this is the place for you.

    Eileen2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bob and Sur were great--very friendly and available for help. The basement cottage is incredibly cute and comfy and fully stocked. We had everything we needed. Additionally the bed was like sleeping on clouds. Laurelhurst is a beautiful area, I only wish we had more time walk around the neighborhood and explore.

    Lisa2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay if you're visiting Portland. It's right around the corner from the park and within walking distance to lots of places. Sue was so friendly and generous with ideas and tips for us—she even gave us a print out of tips for the coast before we checked out. The cottage is so homey and sweet. The whole experience was delightful.

    Kelley2018-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a well-appointed and cozy basement apartment! Wish we'd had more time to explore the neighborhood but it was a perfect spot for us while visiting John's daughter. We wish we'd had more time to just curl up with our books on one of our rainy afternoons! Thanks, Sue and Bob, for a lovely stay.

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • Lovely, modern, clean and comfortable. Strongly recommended.

  • We had an amazing stay at Laurel and Brian's space. We felt at home the second we arrived and did not want to leave! The four of us slept so comfortably and the location was perfect. Thank you Laurel and Brian for having us. We will defentitly be staying here next time we come to Portland!

    Mary2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was fabulous with our stay. The place was very comfortable, even for a family of 4. Light, airy, perfect. Full kitchen, super hosts who genuinely care about their guests. A jewel.

    Charlie2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rented this for my dad who was visiting from the east coast. Beautiful space, great location. Fern kitchen is so close and lovely for brunch! Would definitely rent again.

    Kathryn2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space with all of the comforts of home. We absolutely enjoyed the space and could tell lots of love and care were put into the building of this tiny house. Located within walking distance of great restaurants and watering holes there was plenty to explore. The hosts were very gracious and had lots of great communication. I will certainly stay here next time I'm in Portland. P.S. "GOOD coffee" right around the corner from the house is amazing! Thank you!!

    Dillon2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Only my second air B and B but wow! Super cool space. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

    Kyle2017-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a place, look no further! This place is a gem. Laurel and Brian's place is perfectly nestled in between Hawthorne and Division. Close to great restaurants and night life that is just a stone throws away.

    Joseph2017-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel and Brian's place was the perfect retreat for us while visiting our son and daughter-in-law nearby. The cottage is bright and charming, with a very comfortable bed in the loft. Our visit coincided with a record snowfall, and it was so lovely to lie in bed, looking out the windows at the snow-laden trees. Laurel was up early, shoveling a path from our door to the street. She and her husband were excellent hosts. Having a kitchen and laundry in the unit was terrific. We took advantage of the recommended restaurants just blocks away for some delicious take-out. We hope this will be first of many stays. Great place!

Where Bali meets Portland. Come relax in this newly, beautifully designed, private mixed use accommodation. Just five short blocks from Portland's hip N Williams district. A rooftop deck.
I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • We stayed just an afternoon and left early the next morning, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. Tim's friendly dog greeted us. The hostel set-up with shared bathrooms worked just fine... there were two toilets and two showers and they were never too busy. The sink in the room was nice to have. We loved exploring the Alberta Arts district (Tea Bar, Seastar Bakery, Pok Pok Noi). The hostel has an amazing location right next to Ned Ludd, which was FANTASTIC. What a romantic, interesting, and DELICIOUS restaurant.

  • The beds are very comfy and the room has a great vibe. It was in a walkable distance to restaurants and shops, specifically Mississippi Street. Timothy approved our stay within an hour of us booking, we did not give much notice so he was very accommodating. Highly recommended!

    Autumn2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and sink in the room. The room was a bit noisy during the daytime with the window facing a busy street but quiet at night. Great restaurants and coffee nearby and parking which was extremely convenient for us as we had a big car full of stuff that we wanted nearby.

    Kim2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We truly enjoyed our stay at the Spacious 1 BR in NEPO! The room was big, with a comfortable bed, and my husband was especially happy about the oscillating fan. We took full advantage of the complimentary bikes and enjoyed riding all over Portland. Timothy was friendly and hospitable. I would recommend this place!

    Chelsea2015-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • It was clean and nice. The restaurant below played music pretty late so if you want an early night in this is not the place. Also its a shared shower and bathroom between the rest of the floor

    Ashleigh2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The room was much larger than we expected, and the bed was so comfortable. We definitely got the good rest we needed in Portland. It was a pleasure as well to meet Sasha, Timothy's beautiful GSD, and to hang out with her on the green terrace. This AirBnB is laid out in a dorm style with separate showers and toilets in the common hall to be shared between guests. There was never any problem with bathroom use but cleanliness was understandably variable. Great communication from Timothy throughout, and we thank him again for a wonderful stay!

  • Big bright room right above/next to some great restaurants! Very clean and comfortable. The proximity to the #6 bus stop allowed us to explore the city with ease. Traffic noise on Saturday night was noticeable but not loud, it was quiet the other nights though. I'll definitely be booking this again next time I'm in Portland!

    Phil2015-05-05T00:00:00Z

This listing is a private bedroom in a shared apartment with 3 other individuals. We are considerate, quiet, & conscious of our guests space & privacy. In the heart of Portland's NW 23rd District, our place is nestled close to some of Portland's finest shops & cafes: Salt & Straw, Barista, and Fireside to name a few. The apartment has become a "destination" in itself due to the amazing natural light & Scandinavian interior design - even garnering its own hashtag on Instagram (#theaptupstairs).
"The Apartment Upstairs" is perfect for couples, urban adventurers, and creative travelers. Private bedroom outfitted with luxury Portuguese linen, plush Turkish cotton towels, waffle knit robes & slippers, & alpaca wool throws from our friends over at Parachute Home. All room decor and artwork is done by fellow Portland & Los Angeles creatives.
  • Location is in a beautiful neighborhood with plenty to do, but also easy to walk to downtown or jog to nearby Forest Park. Apartment is stylish and Ben is a top host.

    Daniel2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Benjamin’s place is a dream. The interior is beautiful in real life, the cleanliness is spot on. It was such a quiet little place to rest up but once you hit outside, just around the corner it’s buzzing with food, bars, shops. All at ur fingertips. To get to his place from Portland Airport, you will need to grab the red line all the way to “Providence Park” I think that’s correct. Then I walked 20mins to his place. It isn’t a bad walk but if you have a lot of luggage then I would recommend to take an Uber which will take less then 10mins. It all depends on what ur situation is. Benjamin’s place was easy to get to downtown and back. I’m a walker so I walked from Benjamin’s place to Downtown Portland and met up with a friend and shopped a bit then took the Uber home. The walk to Downtown is about 30mins but when your in a new city and just wanting to see it all, the walk is nice. Thank you again Benjamin for having such a beautiful place. I will definitely stay here again when I’m back in Portland 😊

  • Benjamin was a great host and the environment of the apartment and the neighbourhood was very relaxing and chill. The apartment is beautifully curated and so was the room we stayed in. And his list of recommendation was really useful - I planned my trip around it!

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • This basement apartment was a gem! The decor is so nice, the bed is really comfortable and the hosts were great! Anna and Jeremy responded to questions very fast and made us feel welcomed! I would definitely stay here again! Thank you again, Anna & Jeremy!

    Ausrine2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremey's place was perfect. It had a few good restaurants, a cute grocery store and a brewery in walking distance. The space itself was clean, beautifully made and had adorable decor. Anna and Jeremy were also good communicators and very thoughtful about making sure we had everything we needed.

    Katie2017-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was very enjoyable. The space was so beautiful and well thought out. It felt like a posh studio in NYC. Anna and Jeremy were very accommodating and readily available. I would definitely come here again. I wish we had this time around.

    Kate2014-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic space beautifully designed! Consult their 'Hello' binder for some great ideas for things to do and places to eat around Portland. Anna & Jeremy are great hosts.

  • Perfect! Excellent! Outstanding! What a place! One of the best places I've stayed in for the price....

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • We never met Brad and Becca because we were there less than 12 hours just for the night but their house is so cute and they are so accommodating! Definitely would stay again.

    Sophie2016-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Brad had just returned from an international trip and was understandably exhausted. The home is run like a hostel, and is a very open space. We needed to be quiet at 9 and felt we shouldn't go upstairs. I think another night would have been much better.

    Karen2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca's home was great! Plenty of room, incredibly clean, and comfortable. The dog and cat were sweet and quiet. I will be looking for their listing next time I visit Portland.

    Michael2015-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great 1st Arbnb experience with Brad and Becky and have already recommended a friend to stay with them.

    Eli Andrew2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca were excellent hosts! They were easy to reach through the app, and Becca gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. She was super sweet, and was easily reachable if we needed anything. Like its hosts, the space's decor was bright and inviting. We got the first floor to ourselves, which consisted of a sleek and comfortable bedroom, bathroom, and gorgeous living room. Their guide to Portland was adorable. We used several of their recommendations. We loved staying here! We wish we could have stayed longer! Thanks Brad & Becca!

    Jessica2015-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca were the perfect first time Airbnb experience for us! Their home is clean, cozy, and creatively designed. Brad greeted us when we arrived along with Carlos the dog and Diego the cat. All three were laid back and friendly as could be! The house was easy to find/navigate to, and has quick access to downtown and Division. They even handmade an interactive map of local attractions that is not to be missed. Their recommendations never led us wrong. This is definitely an awesome place to stay in Portland.

    Bridgette2015-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Getting into Brad and Becca's house was quick and easy with their instructions provided. Once we got inside, the house was really clean, and the decor was really pleasant. The rooms that were set up were very comfortable, providing almost all the amenities anyone ever needs during a stay. Some of my favorite things about staying at Brad and Becca's were the board that they had that pointed out places of interest, their world map of places where their guests are from, and the decor of the living room. My party and I were able to talk with Brad and Becca once each and I wish we were able to talk with them more because they were really nice and easy going during our brief interactions with them. The proximity of their house to our points of interest were not too far at all, so it was perfect! Their house felt so comfortable to me and my party that we already recommended it to some of our friends. We enjoyed our stay greatly!

Newly constructed in 2016, our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide an abundance of natural light, even on a grey, drizzly Portland day, as well as views of the west hills. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; If you're needing more of a "hangout spot," this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, coffee press, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to hip and eclectic restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • The skylights and windows make the room feel much bigger than it is. Melissa also provides a curated list of the best places to eat near by. Be ready to stand in line, but the food is worth the wait.

    Jeff2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • This space is just as pictured! Sun-drenched, bright and clean. Close to public transit and within walking distance of the city. When we come back to Portland, we'll be staying at Melissa and Brian's backyard studio!

    Abi2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a terrific place. Not only is it as clean and charming as it looks in the photos, Melissa thought of everything we might need, from a long list of recommendations for places to eat, as well as a few local magazines, and locally roasted coffee. Though this studio is in the backyard of Melissa's house, it feels totally private. We were very comfortable here and would easily come back again if we are ever in Portland.

    Mary2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and her husband were great hosts. They were there to greet us and gave us suggestions for places to eat at and things to see in Portland. The studio was clean, modern, and in a perfect location. If we are ever in Portland again, we would definitely stay here.

The room was great and super clean and it was nice to have basic kitchen facilities. The location is what really does the place justice as there was great food and drink places literally next door and round the corner and the neighbourhood was very cool & lively. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D
  • I have stayed in a number of airbnb homes and Lisa's South Tabor Cottage ranks number one on my list for best value! The South Tabor Cottage was very clean, full of amenities, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I booked my stay very last minute, just hours before arriving, and Lisa was more than accommodating. Lisa is very friendly, and saving the best for last....her breakfast is out of this world good! I will definitely stay here again if I come back to the Portland area.

    Amanda2015-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a cute little place! It was perfect for my short visit to Portland to attend a business event. I wish my schedule would have allowed me time to order one of the breakfasts that were offered as they all sounded so good. There is a set of steep stairs going up to the bedroom so those with mobility issues may find them a little difficult to navigate. I would definitely stay there again if travels bring me back to Portland.

    Lisa2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We've used Airbnb all over the world and this one takes the cake! We LOVED our host, the cottage was cozy, clean and just the right size and breakfast was phenomenal. I would definitely recommended breakfast in the main house with Lisa if you get a chance. Not only is she a great cook, but has wonderful advice about the area and is an all around fabulous person. Great location, close to good restaurants and bars. We loved our visit to Portland and we hope to come back again soon!

  • This was our first airbnb experience and it was just perfect. We could not of asked for a better host. The cottage is just beautiful and very comfortable, and Lisa was so kind. The breakfast in the morning was so delicious. I would love to stay here again when I am back in Portland!

    Monica2013-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and family were very warm and welcoming. The cottage was cozy and clean, and was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting Portland. I would definitely recommend this spot if you are looking for accommodation in Portland. Thanks Lisa!

  • We had a wonderful time in this cozy little cottage! Comfy bed, awesome location walking distance to Mt. Tabor park, breakfast was divine, and great hospitality by Lisa. What a find!

  • Staying with Lisa was an absolute delight! The cottage was clean, cozy and very comfortable. The location was perfect and Lisa was very welcoming. Breakfast in the morning was amazing! We wished we could stay in Lisa's cottage for more of our road trip.

    Maggie2013-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very nice. Clean, and comfortable. It was stocked with everything you could possibly need. Great location with lots of resteraunts and bars within walking distance. Lisa was very nice and friendly, but not invading. I would for sure go back if we needd somewhere to stay in that part of town!

Nestled in the private backyard of our family home, a neighborhood hub. The round, rustic, romantic MudHut hides in a secret garden overlooking the St. Johns bridge and sparkling river, near Cathedral Park, Forest Park, downtown St. Johns, canoe and hiking trails... Firepit, permaculture gardens, loaner bikes, community life, view!
Our hut was handbuilt by family, friends, and community with great love and serves as a guesthouse, homeschool hut, sauna and sanctuary. Wood-heated and candle-lit, it's a tranquil, rustic sleeping space. I recommend staying two nights for an immersive experience in the relaxing atmosphere.
We're in St. Johns, Portland's northern-most neighborhood and a small town of its own with a strong community identity here. Many families here trace their roots back to James John, the pioneer founder of St. Johns who is memorialized all over the neighborhood. Downtown St. Johns is a few blocks away, with plenty of restaurants (Thai, vegan, soulfood, chinese, pub grub, pizza, deli, breakfast, coffee & gelato), an old movie theater and shopping (lots of vintage). Cathedral Park, three blocks away, is gorgeous and photogenic with access to the Willamette River and the awesome overhead presence of the gothic St. Johns Bridge that you can see from the hut. We're also close to a lot of natural areas for urban hiking and paddling. Forest Park, full of trails and old growth forest, is right across the bridge. Just north of here is Kelley Point Park, the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers; Smith and Bybee Lakes, a wetlands for birding and paddling; and Sauvie Island, with beaches, farms, nurseries, hiking, fishing, & birding. We're on the Pacific migratory fly-way, so lots of raptor action around here. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks swoop by regularly.
  • What an amazing experience! We're currently working on a mockumentary about a sustainable living commune. Staying in the cob hut made it feel like we were a part of our own film. The hut and surrounding property was poetic and cozy, and it made us feel so connected to the natural side of living. We absolutely LOVED the concept of no electricity and only using candles for our evening lighting (beyond romantic, IMO). The gardens were a joy, with fruit dripping off the trees. Our host, Ivy, far exceeded our expectations, as she was warm and courteous as she showed us around the property. The communication before our arrival was perfect as well. She served us delicious tea in the morning. Don’t let the bathroom fool you (based on what others wrote). Yes, it does "look" dark and creepy going down and below their house. But looks are deceiving! The shower head, water pressure, and shower size easily made it our best showering experience of our 10 day road trip (beside a luxury bath in Tahoe). Our only regret was not staying longer. Ivy and her kids made us feel quite welcome, and this is certainly a place I plan on visiting again. Very unique!

    Greg2014-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy was a wonderful host, very accommodating and happy to make us feel at home. I must the the pictures din't really paint an accurate picture of the hut and grounds, fore they far exceeded our expectations. The grounds surrounding the hut we're beautiful and soothing. It was like waking up in a secret garden, nestled away right outside the heart of Portland. Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night but would/will (hopefully) be staying again. Recommend highly!

    Rebecca2014-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most lovely time here in Ivy's cozy mud hut. I highly recommend coming to stay, and enjoy a magical getaway. It's very peacful, warm, and cozy. Our hosts very friendly and accomadating, and I look forward to visiting again!

    Erin2014-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at the mud hut! It was a very cozy, rustic place nestled in a beautiful garden. Ivy was a fabulous host. Her family was very nice and we loved the neighborhood.

    Tess2014-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the mud hut. Ivy was helpful in helping us find parking and showing us around. The space was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had access to an outdoor kitchen, a bathroom with a shower in the basement of the house and a hot tub. The fire in the wood burning stove went out in the middle of the night, but it stayed plenty warm inside the hut well into morning even thought it was quite chilly outside. There is a cat that likes to sneak into the hut in the middle of the night if you don't lock the door, but it just wants to cuddle. Coffee in the outdoor kitchen in the morning along with a gorgeous view of St. John's Bridge made this a wonderful experience. If you love the outdoors, sweet cats and an eclectic experience, this is the place for you.

    Andrea2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The hut was filled with lit candles and a small fire. The yard was stunning and the hot tub was nice and warm. We immediately felt relaxed. It was amazing!

    Maren2015-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy made us feel welcomed the second we arrived. She had water, candles, juices and other necessities to make us feel comfortable. Her husband C is great as well. You really feel away from everything being in the back yard and the mud hut... its perfect. I can't really say enough good things. About a 20 dollar uber drive into portland. The area is really nice and peaceful. It was a great stay!

  • The best place so far. Awesome house with amazing Mr. Roland. I started enjoying him from the very minute; wenr out of his way to help me out. I am feel privilege to have met him in person. Good and God fearing man. I must admit its best place I ever stayed.

    TEMIDAYO2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Roland's place is in a great neighborhood, very walkable to restaurants and also close to public transportation. The bed was great and very comfortable! Pictures don't do it justice. The room is an open loft but still has privacy and it also has its own private balcony and private bathroom. The room also included a kitchenette with a mini fridge, toaster, and coffee maker. Roland allowed access to the main kitchen so I was able to cook breakfast for myself. Roland was extremely kind and generous! This room is very affordable and highly recommended. As mentioned in the listing, the room has a jacuzzi tub but it is important to know that it does not have a shower. But my stay overall was great! Thanks, Roland.

    Shannon2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Home is beautiful. Roland was very kind and often checking in if everything was fine. I highly recommend

    Daniel2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Roland was such a great host!! He was there when I needed him, but otherwise our 2 schedules rarely intersected. The room was spacious and really fun to get up to - on this cool, kinda narrow, spiral staircase. He obviously put a lot of time into fixing it up. The bed was super comfortable. There are maps of the area. There's a fridge and microwave. There's a super cool bath with jets too. A special touch I liked was the mug for water - when brushing teeth. The temperature of the room was great - and could easily be adjusted - with opening doors, fans, and an A/C unit. I liked to run ceiling fan - but it didn't get too hot. There's a cute little cat, Little who slowly warmed up to me. She's supposedly a mean cat, and she let me pet her one time. That was all I was allotted. My only regret - nothing to do with room - is I should have rented a car. I relied on Lyft and Uber and it got very expensive quickly. If you're coming for more than a day or so - highly recommend you rent a car at airport. I would definitely stay here again. All in all - very pleasant experience. Thank you Roland!

    Clyde2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was the perfect place to stay for a weekend in Portland! I enjoyed the spacious room and the fresh air from the balcony. Great value!

    Holli2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described and pictured! This place is excellent and I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a place to stay that's close to downtown Portland. Roland was an awesome host!!! Book it now if it's open...

    Shaun2017-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Roland's. The space is clean, cute, well equipped, and cozy. The tub is very nice. Roland and David are kind folks. I am looking forward to going back!

    Lin2018-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Roland was an incredibly nice and friendly host! He had a pool in the backyard and I had a nice evening relaxing in the pool after a long day. His place is located SUPER close to Division st. where there is a lot happening. When I was leaving, I had an extremely tight schedule and was not sure if I would make my flight, so Roland was nice enough to drive me there! Really nice person and will definitely stay with him again, next time I'm in Portland.

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.
  • The Tiny House is in an excellent location, is very well maintained, is exceptionally lovely, and we had a great time. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights during our "mini-moon" celebration, and said "good morning" to the chickens each day. Everything was very comfortable, with the basic amenities readily available, including whole bean coffee, a grinder, and a French Press. It was just like coffee back home! Altogether, our stay was very pleasant and highly recommended to others. Thanks again!

    Michael2015-11-09T00:00:00Z

  • Great place and location.

  • I had an excellent time staying at the Portland Tiny House. Everything was as described and there was even a card welcoming me upon arrival.

    Alexis2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a short stay, and wish we could have stayed longer, but nonetheless had a wonderful experience! The space was perfect for myself and my fiancé, and we loved the decor, the accessibility, and the chickens! We also loved the close proximity to the amazing Alberta disctrict which had plenty of options for dining, shopping, and of course coffee shops. Thank you for your fantastic tiny home and incredible hospitality!

    Karlyn2017-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • This has tiny Home has everything you need for a couple to stay in. It’s so stylish and clean while also feeling incredibly cozy. Genevieve gave us some great ideas for things around the neighborhood to do. Her best recommendation was our dinner spot at DOC which was only 400ft away from the house. Great location in the Alberta arts district. My girlfriend and I thought the chickens would wake us up in the morning but the house is literally sound proof. We slept great in the most comfy bed on our vacation. We honestly would stay here again if we ever make it back up to Portland. The location is also so very close to shops and restaurants on Alberta street and you can’t beat the cost per night. Don’t hesitate on this place if the dates are open. Take our word for it. YOU’LL LOVE IT!

    Chris2018-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • A great little escape. Cosy and warm. Great place to feel like a local.

    Ricky2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a pleasure to feel like a local in this beautiful oasis. Tiny house + chickens?! We knew we HAD to stay here for a true Portland experience. Wonderful coffee, super comfy bed, and delicious air conditioning (it was 34 degrees/ 93 F during our stay). The thoughtful first aid kit also came in handy after a minor fall off my rental bike. Will definitely be back!

    Lucas2017-04-21T00:00:00Z

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • I had an awesome experience in The Rustic Modern Tiny House. My girlfriend has an obsession with Tiny Homes and cycling so I figured why not take her to the cycling and Tiny House capital. So as I was doing my research this one caught my eye and upon arrival it did not dissapoint. She was ecstatic when she saw that she was finally going to experience staying in a Tiny house. She also had a good laugh at me as well because I'm a tall guy at 6'3 walking into a small place. But the place was nice and big guy friendly, I didn't feel crammed in at all. It also had an extremely comfortable bed with some thick sheets which came in handy with the cold and rainy weather. The living room was also nice and cozy with a vintage twist and good size kitchen. Also, the location was perfect! It is about a 10-15 minute walking distance from both Alberta Street and a short distance from Mississippi Ave as well. So if anyone decides to visit Portland, I definitely recommend The Rustic Modern Tiny House. During our short stay we both fell in love with the unique culture of Portland and didn't want to leave one bit. As for Mike & Jenn, they were extremely helpful and welcoming and we're quick to respond whenever I had a question, and I definitely plan on staying here again one day. Oh yeah, if you watch Portlandia you will be glad you picked this location.

    Michael2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Rustic Modern Tiny House was everything we had hoped it would be! My husband and I had a fantastic stay here. Michael was very attentive via text and made sure we were comfortable. We were there in the summer, and with no air conditioning, it did get quite warm during the day and didn't cool off until late. The neighborhood is AWESOME and there are so many great Portland staples within walking distance. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to stay here if we ever find ourselves in Portland again!

    Allison2014-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was absolutely gorgeous. As pictured, if not bigger than I expected. Great location, many shops, bars, and places to eat in walking distance! Hosts, Michael and Jenny were very helpful and eager to answer any questions. Cant wait to come back, would highly recommend!

  • The tiny house was great for a long weekend getaway. It is in a quiet neighborhood that is easily walkable to a lot of great bars and restaurants. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and unique stay in Portland!

  • We had an incredible and wonderful stay at the Tiny House. Michael and Jenny were very quick to respond, kind, and their tiny house is the ideal place to visit for a stay while in Portland.

  • Had a great time staying at the Tiny House with a couple of friends. Such a quirky little place and very well situated for local shops and cafes on N Williams Ave with N Alberta St and the centre only a short ride away. We loved exploring the city by bike which Michael and Jenny kindly arranged for us. We would definitely recommend to friends heading to Portland. Thanks!

    Caroline2014-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly recommend staying here. The tiny house is so cute, and whilst small doesn't feel claustrophobic at all - the place is so well designed.

    Matthew2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED our stay at the tiny house! It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location has perfect proximity to so many fun areas to explore in and around the city. With our bikes and the tiny house as our home base, we were able to have a fantastic Portland adventure. Thanks Michael and Jenny for the stay! Perhaps we shall cross paths in LA some day!

  • Melissa's place was exactly as described and pictured - if not even better in person! The studio was so chic and charming, yet utilitarian. The location was also great; it was extremely easy getting to Downtown Portland from her place. They were extremely thoughtful, providing some snacks and drinks in addition to very organized and thorough recommendations for activities and restaurants around the area (menus and prices were included in the suggestions). Melissa also provided some suggestions in person, as we met her (and Truman, their adorable dog) on our way into the studio on our first day. We stayed here for two nights and it was an absolute pleasure coming back here every night. We hope to be back one day :)

    Tiffany2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's place was great! She provided excellent recommendations. We would definitely stay there again.

    Kahley2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa’s place was lovely. Super clean, just as seen in pictures and located in a nice neighborhood. Melissa was very nice and easy to communicate with as well. We had a late flight out at night and she was nice enough to help us store our luggage until we had to leave to the airport. Would definitely stay here again for sure!

  • Really great place in a great neighborhood! Walking distance to lots of great coffee and restaurants.

Brand spanking new, beautiful, modern addition built on our ranch house.
Our 425 square foot addition is brand new (finished 2015) - immaculately designed, gorgeous and a perfect place to stay during your time in Portland. It has a pellet stove for delightful ambiance (and heating), it's own entrance, a blow-up air mattress (for a third guest) and a patio. Stay in a place completely Portland, powered by solar panels, built environmentally friendly, sitting on a major bike street and a couple blocks from the MAX light rail.
Our house is within 2 miles of the fantastic north and north east neighborhoods of Williams, Mississippi and Alberta. There are dozens of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and I leave a list of our local favorites in the house.
  • We loved Joseph's Addition in Portland! Great location, very clean and spacious and cool, modern design. We loved the vegetable garden outside! Joseph was a great host, he was very helpful in answering our questions about the area and communicated all details about our stay in advance. I would definitely stay here again!

    Jessica2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Addition was extremely cozy and felt like home. The neighborhood, and Portland as a whole, was very beautiful and peaceful. Great host, neighborhood bars, restaurants and location to the metro made this a perfect location. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

    Oscar2016-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Joe's place is the perfect destination! Your own fireplace (pellet stove) in a newly renovated completely separate portion of the house that even includes a deck/patio area with a private entrance! I'll certainly be saving their place as on of my favorites!

    Patrick2015-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Addition was a beautiful retreat with modern restroom and heaters in every room. We absolutely loved our stay and Joseph was very responsive and understanding when we had to extend our stay for a couple hours due to unforeseen circumstances. Would definitely book again!

    Melissa2015-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful space in a great neighborhood. Joseph accommodated our baby by providing a pack n play and had great food recommendations.

    Julie2018-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Addition can't be beat for an amazing stay in Portland that is also an incredible value. The story of how it was built is told in a book on the coffee table, it's a fascinating eco-friendly abode. We had everything we needed and hope to be back again soon! Thanks very much

    Tricia2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay in the addition. Loved how it was so eco-friendly. Very cute place and had any essentials you would need. Close to public transportation and walking distance to shops/restaurants. Would definitely stay again if I was ever in the area. Joseph was very helpful and a wonderful host.

    Christina2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • A great little apartment with great connections to the city. Joe was on hand at check in and left lots of great information for us to take a look at about the area.

Experience the best Portland has to offer from a private studio in a lush, backyard garden. Our beautiful, eco-home on a quiet street is conveniently located in Southeast Portland's best and most walkable neighborhood.
Chosen as one of Portland's 10 best Airbnb rentals by Portland Monthly Magazine, it's hard to find a better deal. Tucked between Hawthorne and Division, you’ll have easy access to award-winning restaurants, movie theaters, coffee shops, parks, and so much more. Our 1909 built home is clean, tranquil, and truly unique. Previously featured on Portland's Build it Green home tour. The one-room light-filled studio is perfect for a single or couple. It has a comfortable full-sized bed with nice linens, a small table and chairs, coat and luggage racks (there is no closet), and a place to sit and read while you enjoy complimentary tea and coffee. Whatever season you are visiting Portland in, you will find the studio to be quite comfortable. It stays nice and cool in the warmer months with a ceiling fan, and the convection heater keeps it warm in the winter. Beautiful photography, by a local artist, graces the walls.
  • My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Urban Garden Studio and couldn't have enjoyed it more. The backyard is quaint and private and the studio is gorgeous and unique. I will definitely return when my future travel plans bring me back to Southeast Portland! Joelle and James are wonderful gracious hosts and love sharing their passion for Portland with their guests.

    Michael2014-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a phenomenal time staying in Jame's and Joelle's garden studio. The studio was very comfortable and down right adorable. Joelle really puts in time and effort to make her guests feel welcomed from the chocolates when we first arrived to offering us grapes from their very own vine. The studio is in an excellent location close to many shops and great restaurants. I would highly recommend the garden studio to anyone!

    Miranda2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Flegals were fantastic! The space is absolutely lovely, surrounded by lush greenery and the chance to relax after a long day of traveling. As specified, the locale is prime, as its close to nightlife and restaurants (two blocks!). The Flegals were also extremely accommodating and respectful of our space there. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and beautiful space in Portland!

    Byron2013-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, wonderful experience. Joelle was there to greet us right when we arrived and she gave us a quick tour. The garden studio was a beautiful room and the neighborhood was easy to explore by walking. We appreciated the guide book that was provided and used several of the recommendations. And then there's the raspberry bars that were truly out of this world! Joelle and James come off as very kind and genuine people that put a lot of thought into hosting guests. Great experience, no complaints, and we would definitely stay here again when we're in town. Thank you!

    Nick2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at Joelle and James' Urban Garden Studio. I was there for a 4 day class so was not around too much during the day. The Hawthorne neighborhood has everything and was ideal for my morning walks. To give you an idea, I walked a couple blocks and passed a Thai restaurant, a Lebanese restaurant, Fred Meyer, food trucks, cute shoe/clothing/gift/import/garden/jewelry stores, a theater, several coffee shops and other restaurants, etc. The list is long. And the homes and gardens are like art shows right now! As for James and Joelle's place, it is not only an art show but a display of conscious harmony. I loved everything. The studio itself was cozy and comfortable. I slept really well! They provided such nice sheets and towels. I especially liked that I could control the heat independently. Even though the bathroom was in the main house, it was worth the walk across the yard to my beautiful private bathroom with a big inviting tub. Access to the kitchen/fridge was nice for making coffee and tea and storing some food. The bench in the garden was a perfect spot for reflection/meditation. Joelle's hospitality could not be beat. I was so happy to meet her. Seems like every detail was addressed. Great welcome manual and vases with greenery placed carefully, yummy coconut date bars (!!! :)), great communication, lots of recommendations for places to eat, bus schedules, books with walking routes, felines and chocolates to welcome me. Does it sound like I want to go back? I do!

    Emily2015-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • James and Joelle were amazing hosts, we loved staying at the garden studio. They were very flexible regarding our late arrival time and were extremely accommodating throughout our entire stay, providing us with great recommendations for activities and restaurants in the area. The studio itself was a very comfortable living space with beautiful surroundings. I would certainly stay here again if I ever return to Portland.

    Evan2015-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Joelle and James were such wonderful hosts. We felt completely at home upon arrival. They provided such a welcoming environment and continually checked up to see if we needed anything. The balance between our space and theres was excellent, great if you need a break from reality. The morning after we arrived we were provided with fresh baked oat bars and always had tea and coffee on hand. They have 3 awesome cats with tons of personality, perfect if you are an animal lover. The garden suite was comfortable, cozy and clean. We had our own private bathroom in the house and had a beautiful soaker tub. They neighborhood is beautiful, 2 1/2 blocks from Hawthorne and about 5 from Division. Surrounded by tons of restaurants and entertainment. We felt quite safe walking home at night which is a big plus. I recommend staying with Joelle and James to anyone, we enjoyed our space, their home and hospitality and the overall experience, we cannot wait to stay with them again. Thanks for everything you two, see you next year!

  • The Urban Garden Studio is everything you would hope it to be! It is inviting, serene and inspiring. I felt revived every morning I woke up there. The bathroom with luxurious tub was soothing and relaxing. Joelle was a wonferful hostess that makes sure you have everything you need and leaves delicious treats and welcoming notes that make you feel a bit pampered more than you're average AirBnB. I will definitely be staying at the garden studio the next time I am in Portland!

Our studio guest house comfortably sleeps two and features a mini kitchen and private bath. Walk through the garden to your private entrance. Curl up by the fire and enjoy one of the art books from our library. Walk to nearby Alberta Arts District.
With two small children at home, we have found little time to paint in the second floor of the studio building at the rear of our property. Come and enjoy this lovely space! It features high ceilings, ample light, a wood stove (with back-up electric heat), views of the surrounding gardens, a large table and a drafting table to spread out and work on, and an art book library. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and electric kettle. It does not have a cook top or oven or toaster. We provide coffee and tea. The bathroom features a shower stall and an eco-toilet that collects water from hand washing to use on the next flush. With summer temperatures rising, we recently added an AC window unit for our guests comfort. We offer a full bed with a seven inch Ikea spring mattress and a two inch memory-foam topper. Our guests report that the room is surprisingly quiet at night. Please note we do not have a TV; however, our wifi is fast enough to watch movies or shows on your personal device.
I love this place. This is a residential neighborhood with a wide cross section of racial and economic diversity, a lot of the old 'hood funkiness still intact, plus newer hipster creativity and some higher-end business activity. Expect to see a mix of dilapidated buildings and newer or rejuvenated construction. We feel safe at night, however I do advise women to be wary about walking alone at night, particularly if you don't have much street smarts. We are within easy walking distance of Alberta Street Co-op, coffee shops, restaurants, bars and other businesses. The post office, laundromat, Safeway and Walgreens are very close by as well.
  • My favorite Airbnb of all time! The retreat is beautifully appointed and there wasn't a single element missing: coffee, check; half-and-half for coffee, check; forgot my conditioner, no problem, check; cosy bed, check! I loved staying in the Northeast neighborhood, on a quiet, pretty street, but still within easy access to Alberta St.'s food options and downtown by car or bus. Even though I did not encounter the hosts once, I felt cared for here, and will, without question, look forward to the garden retreat my next time in Portland. Thank you Nell!

    Jill2015-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was a perfect distance from downtown and a very cozy place to rest. The amenities, especially the fireplace, made for an incredibly welcoming stay. We especially liked the amount of natural light that was available through the skylights and windows when we wanted it. I appreciated the tiny detail of including a Lindor chocolate at our check in, it was a small touch, but very nice all the same.

    Jonathan2016-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Garden Retreat is absolutely wonderful. I booked it last minute on when some plans fell through and Nell, the host couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful! The space itself is incredibly quiet and well appointed for a relaxing evening at home. It you feel like going out, it's not too far from Portland's best BBQ and a really great taco shop/bar. I'll be back!!!

    Sean2014-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • I spent four nights in Nell's charming second-floor backyard cottage. The space is beautiful, very clean, and just as pictured. (Even better than pictured, actually, because of the two lovely skylights above the bed.) Said bed is comfortable, with a nice mattress and linens, and the wood stove is easy to use. There's a terrific collection of art books to read, the armchair is comfortable, and the rug's luxuriant. Though I presume the space is used as a studio when no guests are present, it's also thoughtfully optimized for guests, with labeled trash receptacles, neatly folded towels, etc. The hosts left coffee and cream for me in the mini fridge, and all the supplies for starting and maintaining a fire in the stove. The space has a quiet, contemplative feel; there's no one directly underfoot, and it is very private. While not in the thick of things, the place is walking distance from the thriving Alberta Arts District, and very close to several bus lines. I didn't get the pleasure of meeting the hosts (largely because I was feeling shy myself), though they were around, responsive, and kindly checked in on me by email to make sure I had enough wood and such. I would absolutely stay here again, and will recommend it to friends.

    Katherine2015-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is in NE but we did not feel unsafe for one minute (of course, you might want to get back wither with a car or if you area walking, make it before dark). For the foodies, the studio is a minute walk to a really good Ethiopian restaurant . We could easily walk to Alberta and all the restaurants and shops there. When in the place, you will realize Nell has thought of everything (from coffee to maps to the umbrella you might have forgotten!).

    Tzveta2015-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome place! Nell was very accommodating. The studio was incredibly cozy, bright, and inviting. The cast iron stove and vintage radio were great on a damp Portland evening. It was an easy 10-15 minute walk to the Alberta Arts District, which houses great food, shopping, and culture. Bus lines run nearby as well, making it easy to get around the city. This garden art studio was a great place to stay!

    Anne2015-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a gorgeous space, in a great residential neighborhood. It was wonderful being in an artist's space, with lovely touches like Nell's artwork, the wood stove, and the great collection of books. Design goals!

    Amy2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful city, beautiful space! The artist's garden was cozy and inspiring! Loved our stay here.

  • We loved the space! It was so perfect for our little family. Coffee and light breakfast foods were stocked in the fridge and pantry. It was small but thoughtfully contained everything you would need for a trip! We also appreciated all the suggestions of places to check out from Kurt! We will definitely recommend to others!

    Caitlin2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kurt & Nathalie are both such hospitable hosts and went to great lengths to ensure our needs were met during our stay. Their attention to detail and friendliness was such an added bonus. The house is so very cute and had everything we could have ever needed. We loved our time here!

    Lauren2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best place to stay while visiting Portland! Kurt and Nathalie’s studio apartment is for sure an unforgettable place which will amplify your visit. With a self-check-in check-out system, a 15-minute walk to the light rail (MAX) and steps away from hopping Division Street you won’t be sorry you chose to stay here. Make sure you visit Dots! s been around forever! The studio is charming and welcoming right from the gecko. Being from DC, we were a little nervous when we saw there wasn’t AC, but with the windows open all night it was the most perfect temperature! Skylights and a patio brightened up the place and we hardly used the lights in the unit. The natural sunlight made us feel so well rested! The studio has a fully functioning kitchen with the fridge being stocked with all of the breakfast essentials: eggs, English muffins, orange juice, multiple creamers/milk. If you were looking to make a larger meal, too, that was absolutely an option which was a pretty awesome option with this living space. If you are looking for a few things to do, there is a book you will see upon arrival that has a few suggestions – what a great touch! Kurt is full of suggestions for running routes, too. We never would have known to go to Mount Tabor, an extinct volcano, if it wasn’t for him! With such an awesome location and friendly hosts, I was ready to move in! We’re already looking forward to our next visit to Portland and we will be sure to stay here again.

  • This was one of the loveliest AirBnB's I've stayed in. The whole space was so comfortable and I loved being able to hang out there. The check in/out was convenient and everything was exactly as described. I can't recommend this listing enough... I was practically ready to move in!

    Erin2016-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first AirBnB experience. We might be spoiled now. This studio is awesome, and the neighborhood is incredible. We hope to be back soon!

  • Every part of our experience was outstanding. Our hosts were warm and welcoming! The space was charming, quiet and comfortable. We hope to stay here again.

  • This was our first trip to Portland, and we loved how walkable everything was from Kurt and Nathalie’s. We had tons of restaurant and shopping options within a 15 minute walk, and we loved living like locals for a couple days. Comfy bed, charming decor, clean space, and the best amenities we’ve seen in an Airbnb. We loved it and we’d love to stay again next time we’re in town.

My house is close to light rail and bus lines in a quiet and secure area. Many restaurants, coffee houses and bars are within walking distance and there is a large grocery store nearby in case you need provisions. There are parks within walking distance as is the Adidas campus. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers. There is another bedroom that can sleep two and I have an air mattress available.
Private home with 2 bedrooms in the upstairs of the house. Fully equipped kitchen with a laundry room. The stove is gas so please ask for instructions on how it works before using. The back yard is shady and there is a patio with a fireplace. The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to walk around in.
There are quite a few very good restaurants with in walking distance of the house with a sprinkling of coffee houses and bars. Well lit and quiet there are also a couple of parks with in a few blocks. Also a great grocery store is near by.
  • Sheilah's house is surrounded by great restaurants and bars. It's a quiet neighborhood and I really enjoyed my stay. The house was clean at all times. Will definitely stay at her place if I'm in the area again!

  • Terrific value. Clean, cozy, comfortable at a great price. Some interesting spots to eat and drink nearby. I'd definitely return.

    Michael2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sheilah was very lovely to me and chatted with me even though she felt sick at the time. She even recommended to me a place to get a haircut when I asked, and I got the best cut of my life! My only warnings to travelers would be that she does not currently have a microwave so I could not reheat some of my leftover food and had to use her gas stove top to reheat ramen. Also there are no locks on the bedroom doors and there are two separate bedrooms for Airbnb guests so you might be sharing a hallway with strangers and have no lock on your bedroom. There is a lock on the bathroom door though. All in all I had a wonderful and comfortable stay despite the lack of a small modern convenience. I can't say enough about Sheilah's likability.

    Jacque2018-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sheilah' place is conveniently located close to everything you need as well as the freeway. Sheilah was very accommodating, she made sure I had every thing I needed. Would stay here again.

    Max2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sheilah's place is lovely and well located, close to bus stations, restaurants and coffee shops. The room is very comfortable and the shared washroom has everything you need. Sheila was very quick at responding messages. I had a great time in Portland and would stay at her place again!

    Laurence2018-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila’s place was stylish, clean, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. It is situated in a super walkable and beautiful neighborhood. This was absolutely perfect for my situation. Sheila is a top notch host and I highly recommend staying here.

  • Heidi and Marenda's sunny loft doubled as an oasis during our 4 night stay in Portland. After a weekend with record-high temperatures and days full of our friend's wedding events, coming "home" to this beautiful loft was just what we needed. We were thankful for the easy-to-set-up A/C available and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay in Portland. The coffee beans, granola and yogurt were a great compliment to our stay as well! We'll definitely stay again on our next trip to the PNW.

    Ali2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience in the loft. Really beautiful space and we were made to feel welcome from the get go.

    Adam2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi and Marenda's home was nothing short of perfect. Very relaxing beautiful home to have a relaxing time in beautiful Portland.

    Karla2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • This loft was better than the pictures. It was quiet and secluded with the city a short drive away. It was so beautiful and unique and the feel of your own place I wished we could have stayed longer. It was a great place to be apart of our honeymoon road trip

    Jackie2016-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I could not have asked for a better little escape nestled in Portland. The neighborhood was clean, quiet, and inviting. The "house" itself is nothing short of awesome. It is exactly as pictured and it felt like a second home to my husband and I! Heidi and Marenda were so kind and warm from the second we stepped onto the property. If you are searching for a place to stay in Portland, make it their property- you will not regret it!!!

    Ashley2016-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful home away form home! Situated in a lush residential neighbourhood with a great grocery store and car rental location within walking distance. It was easy to get settled and start exploring. Forest Park is less than a 10-minute drive away—just across the bridge. The hosts are lovely: attentive and respectful of privacy. The home is stunning and the backyard is spectacular. A rare situation where staying put in your logging is as compelling as the surrounding attractions. We slept like babies. Thank you Heidi and Marenda!

    Renee2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful space. They built it themselves and you can see the care that went into everything. 100% recommend staying here.

    Cole2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first ever trip to Portland. I searched through the site and only looked for "wow" kind of places. The loft design with the concrete floor and upstair bedroom caught my eye upon browsing. It's not enough to just have a good-looking place but for it to be well-furnished. This AirBnb was a splurge since I appreciate places with modern clean style. The check-in and check-out processes were a breeze. Heidi and Marenda were so quick to respond. The neighborhood was nice and quiet with tons of parking for my rental I got from a few streets over at Enterprise. Bathroom's a bit small, but the design of the space was unique. The bed was also comfy. I enjoyed waking up to the sound of rain on the cool skylights. Great professional AirBnb hosts with a wonderful place to share!

  • We loved the location of the house.. Lots to do and see within walking distance! There is just a pull out sofa but for a short stay in Portland the location can't be beat! Rick was a great host, super responsive, easy to get in touch with, and flexible. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to stay near Mississippi.

  • Rick was a great host. Even though he was traveling at the time, he quickly responded to my email inquiries in a helpful and friendly manner. This house has a wonderful location, Mississippi street is a blast and walking distance to many points of interest. This is such a fun and funky setting to experience Portland, I highly recommend it!

  • Nice little spot next to two good breweries! We enjoyed our night here.

  • Gave good info, easy to deal with. House in good condition.

  • The little green house is a great place to stay. Super new, clean in a great part of town. I was there during a heat wave and surprisingly the little house stayed super cool. I was there alone but could have easily brought along my wife and son and still we would have been very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and hopefully I will be staying here again soon

    Timothy2013-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at the tiny house off Mississippi was fantastic. The location can't be beat and while the place is small, it is very comfortable. Rick had great communication and was able to get a reservation confirmed quickly. The wifi was awesome and having an electronic keypad was a huge convenience. The place was clean and well decorated. If you plan to eat at any one of the amazing restaurants nearby, you won't miss the lack of a full kitchen- I know I didn't. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat and plan to stay again.

    Colleen2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • The little Green House was an awesome experience for myself and my wife. We had a great time in this innovative little house. Everything was very well designed to make optimal use of the space. But we hardly even stayed in the house itself, the location right off Mississippi was fantastic as only a short walk away is a vibrant street to spend some good times at. Rick was very courteous and helpful throughout the whole process. We ran into some issues with our travel and reservation and Rick was very flexible and willing to help us out with a partial refund of a reservation for one night we were not able to make it to his place on time. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great experience on Airbnb and in Portland. We will definitely be staying at the Little Green House next time we come to Portland!

    James2013-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjouyed our stay at Rick's little green house. The place was very cute and extremely clean. We were quite comfortable the entire time, and the fact that the heaters kicked in quickly when the temperatures dropped outside was appreciated. The climb up the strairs to the bedroom loft area wasn't that difficult (though the ceiling is quite low when you get up there!) and the bed was very cozy. We couldn't ask for a better location, as the house is situated in close proximity to both the Mississippi and Alberta districts (though the latter is a little further away). Overall, we loved the uniqueness of this accomodation option and would definitely recommend staying here if it suits your needs!

    Preston2015-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck and Annika provided a wonderful place for my family to stay while we visited my hometown! The apartment was so lovely and clean and comfortable. There was just the perfect amount of space for myself, my partner, and our two year old daughter. I love the memorial to the cat out front. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay in one of my favorite neighborhoods!

    Amanda2015-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck and Annika have such a lovely and not-to-miss unit! Within walking distance to breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and coffee places on Division. Highly recommended stay outside of the busy Portland area. We were greeted with chocolate chip cookies and the lovely scent of lilacs blooming in their yard. I'll definitely try to stay here again on my next trip to Portland!

    Tiffany2015-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was terrific. The apartment is cozy, so clean and had every amenity we could hope for. Chuck and Annika are the perfect hosts; friendly, yet very appropriate and un-intrusive. I very much appreciated their communication style as well, and look forward to coming back again.

  • Chuck and Annika's place is great. It is in an excellent location in the South East District, one and a half blocks from Division Street and all the fun it has to offer. If you're looking for a super cozy space to rest, nestled within a great spot of Portland, this is it.

    Adam & Ike,2015-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks, Chuck and Annika for a great stay in Portland! Their place was an excellent retreat between our hiking and eating. Loved that it was walking distance to many excellent restaurants and the food pod! I would highly recommend it!

    Jennifer2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • My three friends and I stayed at Chuck and Annika's place for 4 days and it was the most comfortable stay we've had throughout our entire trip. It was our first time visiting Portland and this was the best location for the best deal we found. The place welcomed us with a little sign at the door saying "Welcome Regine and Company!" Regine is my sister who booked the place. They had a plate of cookies ready for us, a book that had a list of places to visit, it was all very convenient. Parking was never a problem to find, as long as your courteous to other drivers and you can easily parallel park. The bathroom was neat, clean, and well stocked, as was the kitchenette. There was a microwave available, where we kept any leftovers. The living area was spacious and can easily turn into two beds. They had Netflix and AppleTV available. The bedroom was very cozy. I can say nothing wrong with this place! We loved it. If we were to move to Portland, this place would be the ideal space for us. The only thing is we wish there were blinds or a curtain on the front door window. But other than that, this was place was amazing! We're glad we got to meet Chuck while he was leave blowing out in the yard. haha which was another amazing thing we loved about Portland, all the leaves!

    Jensine2015-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying here! We loved that coffee shops, good food, and cute shops were just a walk away. We were visiting friends and had a busy schedule, so we never actually met Chuck or Annika, but we enjoyed staying in their apartment. The apartment was cozy and well stocked with supplies like coffee, nice dishes, and even a little sewing kit for emergencies. We would stay here again!

Our small (8X12) free-standing studio is light-filled, private and tucked away under the trees. With a comfortable queen-sized bed, microwave, mini-fridge electric kettle and table, you will be cozy here! Please note: The Tiny House does not have its own bathroom. Guests use a shared bathroom just inside the back door of our house (our family has a primary bathroom upstairs, but we use the downstairs bath occasionally. We keep it clean and use it minimally when guests are in the tiny house).
Our tiny house is a delightful retreat. While you do share a bathroom in the house, this outdoor studio will offer you great privacy. The tiny house is set up for you to be able to sleep and make coffee/tea and microwavable meals. There is a mini-fridge for your perishable foods, and microwave and electric kettle. There is a table which you can use for dining and also as your desk. Enjoy sipping a cup of locally roasted coffee (beans provided!) while you enjoy the peaceful trees in our 2/3 acre yard. Our backyard also has a large "pump track" that Joel made, as an enthusiastic mountain biker. Feel free to bring your mountain bikes and ride it! The tiny house is very small so we do not store many things in there, but we do have additional amenities available, including: extra pillows and blankets, extra fans and space heaters, hair dryer, curling iron, clothing iron, yoga mat, extra towels, kitchen utensils, tupperware and more. If there is something you need, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate! Please Note: There is no kitchen or plumbing in the tiny house-it is small studio. It works best for guests who plan to eat out or prepare very simple foods with the microwave and mini fridge. We are happy to provide extra plates, silverware, etc. and if you need to wash a dish or two, just let us know and you can pop into our kitchen.
We live in Portland's Lents neighborhood, which is ethnically diverse and not yet gentrified. We are close to some lovely local nature preserves, including Leach Botanical Gardens and Powell Butte. We are also close to freeways, airport, parks and public transit. Please note: We are about 10 miles from downtown Portland and about 3-5 miles from the "hip" neighborhoods in SE Portland that have a lot of walkable attractions. If you have a car it is pretty easy to get around from here, but this is not the ideal neighborhood if you are hoping to walk to Portland's best spots without driving or taking the bus. You can walk to Safeway, Walgreens, and the closest bus stop very easily from here.
  • I had the perfect little getaway in the tiny house, complete with very comfy and cozy surroundings and super good coffee (and an excellent list of recommendations for food and such). I would happily return!

  • My boyfriend and I were able to stay at the "Tiny House" last minute during our visit to Portland. I thought that the location was convenient and they were very accommodating even with our late arrival. Also, they were very inviting and understanding and let us use their iron for our clothes. Joel was helpful and friendly and I liked the list of Portland recommendations that they left for us in the house. We ended up going to the soaking pool as suggested. Great visit, friendly host. Photos and descriptions were true to what was supplied. One more thing, LOVED the coffee and coffee book :)

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; three blocks walking to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. Fifteen minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are four bus stops and rental bikes within three blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Built with Love!
From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was just an empty crooked shed with no electricity, water or heat and it was filled with trash. Todji purchased the old neglected rental in 2004 when self-employed artists could get a loan, and after fifteen years of restoring the main house and the old "Barn", while building a career as a sculptor, Todji and Gisele decided to convert his studio into its own unit to host travelers and guests such as yourself. During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from all around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele have taken on the profession of being Airbnb "Artist Inn Keepers" to help support the cultivation of their artistic practices, and to share their creative work with you. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day, please feel free to take a postcard home and visit their sculpture website.
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most beautiful and charming hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both Hawthorne and Division St. within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, boutique browsing and hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters- 45th and Division, Classic Great Portland Coffee Trinket- One block away on Lincoln and 39th, great for Brunch with their locally sourced eggs!) Harlow- 36th and Hawthorne, Hip and Healthy, great for lunch, or fresh veggie juice. Por Que No- 46th and Hawthorne, Wildly popular Mexican with a great playful decor. (Don’t be intimidated by the line, you order at the counter, and then get a seat and your order will be out in no time) Pok Pok- 32nd and Division, There are literally 11 Thai restaurants in walking distance, but Pok Pok is the best. Began as a food cart, but grew into a Restaurant Empire. Worth the wait. Bollywood Theater- 30th and Division, Indian food small plates. Also along line but worth it! Salt and Straw- 33rd and Division, Food Networks top five ice creams! Super Popular! Lauretta Jeans- 34th and Division, Breathtaking Pies! Tidbit Food Cart Pod, 28th and Division, Fabulous food cart selection, lots of seating, including a beer garden and vintage clothing bus. A truly Portland experience. Hiking: The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. For those who want a challenging half day hike you can begin at Multnomah Falls and hike a loop called the Franklin Ridge Loop. Multnomah Falls /Franklin Ridge Loop Eagle Creek Angels Rest Bridal Veil Falls Triple Falls Wahkeena Falls Groceries, Pharmacy and Shopping: New Seasons- Local Health Food Store (40th and Hawthorne) Fred Meyers- Local Department/Grocery store (Cesar Chavez and Hawthorne) Rite Aid Pharmacy- Drugstore/pharmacy (Cesar Chavez and Division) Powell’s Books- A smaller version of Portland’s famous Bookstore (37th and Hawthorne) Gold Door- Wonderful Imports from around the world (37th and Hawthorne) Enjoy!
  • A super beautiful stay

    Mackenzie2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a great place to stay. My girlfriend and I felt like we were on a magic adventure in an enchanted cabin. Would definitely return.

    Katherine2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to unwind after a long day exploring Portland. The magic barn was beautiful, I loved all the artistic touches they put on the place. The bed was a little bit too soft for my preference, but it was quiet enough after the street traffic died down and I slept great. The gas fireplace was nice and gave the place a very romantic feel. There were a bunch of city maps and guidebooks to help us navigate and choose our daily activities. We met both Todji and Gisele when we arrived and they were very welcoming. Parking around the corner was abundant and we had no problem finding a spot.

    Karen2015-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The plants and wood above you make you feel like you're waking up in a treehouse. The space is beautiful, dreamy, and quirky, and the sculptures are spectacular. Will be back again!

    Sierra2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect place to call home for our first trip to Portland. Cozy, warm inviting, and accompanied by an exquisite level of taste in decor. We found their written reccomendations for food extremely helpful. (HELLO Pok Pok for Asian fusion and Salt&Straw for ice cream delight! We can't wait to eat you again!) The Magic Barn embodies the spirit of Portland, and we spent many a night out on the patio, drinking wine, admiring the lovely sculpture garden, and wishing we could stay longer! The tiny vintage kitchen is super charming and aesthetically perfect for the space, however -- be forewarned, don't plan on cooking too many meals here. It's just not conducive for that. It's a half-stovetop/oven, very small; and also don't load up on a lot of perishables before arriving, because you will find that the fridge is just dorm-room size. No full-sized fridge, freezer, or ice. There are plates and dishes aplenty, but other than salt and pepper, and a few skillets, you'd need to invest in many of the essentials if you planned to do even the most basic of cooking here. We brought a can of Pillsbury biscuits to cook for breakfast with our eggs and bacon, but were crestfallen when there was no cookie sheet to bake them on. All the more reason to get out and explore Portland's brunch spots, right?! There is an electric kettle for boiling tea, and a french press for making coffee, and there were several wonderful tea bag options provided, as well as some already ground coffee in the fridge. (There is no coffee grinder.) Also no microwave. But overall, what a wonderful, beautiful, centrally-located space, and -- if my best friend had not fallen out of the raft on our extreme whitewater adventure, and then subsequently had to be put on crutches for the remainder of our trip -- we might have never even noticed that this place does not, in fact, have a television.

    Jeff2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Todji and Gisele met me at check in and were very welcoming! My stay was short but I was very comfortable and had a great night of sleep in the magic barn. Everything was as described and I highly recommend the magic barn as a great place to stay in a trendy area of Portland.

    Pat And Mary2015-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I have both lived in Portland, so we knew exactly where we wanted to be located in order to be central; with easy access to getting around and close to friends. We also were seeking a unique, restful, peaceful hideaway for a romantic few days. The Magic Barn is possibly the very best AirBnB experience I have ever had, and certainly within the city or Portland - it feels like being at the coast, in a cozy cabin with tons of natural light and natural palette of colors, and all the amenities, but it's in the middle of the city and a great walkable distance to the main drag of SE Hawthorne with all of its restaurants, bars, and boutique shopping. The space was super clean and well maintained, we were completely comfortable and relaxed, and just really loved the space. We especially appreciated the delicious coffee and wide selection of teas - mornings! - and the the very well stocked kitchen. Also, do not miss an opportunity to take a bath in the deep, claw-foot tub!

  • We loved the Garden Oasis Guest House, it was a perfect place to rest and relax after exploring Portland. We really enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and found some great bars and restaurants just a few blocks away. The Guest House has everything you need for a very simple, comfortable stay. We were very happy with our choice and would definitely stay there again when we return to Portland. Thanks Colin & Medina!

    Nina2013-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Colin and Medina's straight forward, check in process was much appreciated after arriving tired and exhausted on a Friday night. Upon entering the garden oasis, the space heater was on and we instantly felt warm and cozy. Because our stay was rather short (2 days), it was the perfect accommodation for 2 people, anything longer, for us, would possibly result arguments :) Colin checked in with us Saturday morning to make sure we had everything we needed; he seemed friendly and pleasant. All in all, it was an easy, uncomplicated airbnb experience.

    Julien2013-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Give Colin and Medina's place 5 stars. Host was great and available anytime if needed. The place was great and provided all the essential features needed. Also the place was close to restaurants and very close to public transportation. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to visit Portland.

    Sean2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great little back yard bungalow with all the amenities you'd find in a nice hotel room. Didn't see much of Colin and Medina but they were friendly and helpful when we did intersect!

    McKenna2016-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exactly as advertised and was fantastic. The pictures give a really good sense of the indoor space, but don’t really do justice to how pretty the outdoor space is. Our one regret is we did not give ourselves the time to truly enjoy the space, as we were only in town for a weekend and spent most of it out and about. The space is cozy, but definitely is large enough for two people. Check-in was extraordinarily easy and the instructions were explicit, clear and easy to follow. The location is also great. It was easy to walk to many different delicious restaurants (Tasty & Sons is highly recommended), bars and multiple different stops for public transportation. Everybody Bikes was about 15 minutes away, and allowed us to rent bikes for a day and get around really easily. We were incredibly happy with our accommodations and highly recommend this place.

    Alexis2013-04-30T00:00:00Z

Ann was very communicative and made our arrival process very easy and clear. She was a hands-on style host when we saw her. The space was nice and very comfortable with lots of storage. The washroom was also very nice and well-stocked. There was definitely some traffic with the shared washroom (there is a 2nd rented room). Our schedule was loose so this wasn't a big deal but if you were on a tighter schedule this could have been tricky at times. We drove and had no trouble finding free street parking on any of the days we were there.

Loved this basement apartment! Anna has made it super comfortable and homey with books, movies, and decor! The bed was so comfortable and big plush towels were heavenly. I was only there for a couple of nights while taking a course at the convention center but did get to enjoy the walk-ability & great neighborhood! I appreciated the variety of resources in the manual and the Kind bars in the kitchen since I got there so late I hadn't bought food for breakfast. I would definitely stay again and already told my friends how great it was (my first Air BnB experience too)!
