Just booked in Poughkeepsie

Just booked in Poughkeepsie
Sleep staring at stars! Featured in The New York Times, The Today Show & called by Forbes "The World's Most Beautiful Tiny House," the Hudson Valley Glass House is a magical getaway. Just 90 mins from NYC, but a world away. 30 acres of rolling hills give total privacy and isolation as glass walls open up onto endless views of vineyards, orchards, & wildlife (spy coyote, deer, & amazing birds!). Modern comforts (WiFi, A/C & a loaded kitchen) keep you from feeling like you've given anything up.
Hi! If you're thinking of booking, please message me first to confirm, and also please read the entire listing to the end as it likely answers any questions you may have... Welcome to The Glass House. Come see why Forbes called it "The World's Most Beautiful Tiny House" and called an "off-grid oasis" on The Today Show. Sleep staring at the stars and feel the stress melt away in this glass-enclosed tiny house (just 180 square feet!) retreat, just 90 minutes from NYC, but a world's away. This is a truly special place, and most people find it surprising that it can exist so close to New York. With all sorts of wildlife coming within inches of the house (don't be surprised if you see coyotes, families of deer, and every type of bird you could imagine), this is a truly immersive experience into nature. But despite its small size and isolated location, it is surprisingly luxurious on the inside. The listing includes: -A 180 square-foot glass-enclosed tiny house, offering spectacular 360-degree views of the Hudson Valley and surrounding vineyards and apple orchards -Lots of privacy on a 30-acre farm. -Outdoor dining and lounging furniture, along with access to a fire pit that you can definitely grill on. -A plush queen-sized bed with a super-comfy memory foam mattress and insanely comfortable pillows -A dining table with two chairs for sitting and eating. -A modern stainless-steel kitchen with a mini-fridge, induction cooktop for cooking, microwave, and electric kettle. Despite the small size, it has just about everything but a range oven. -Wi-Fi for keeping in touch with the real world and streaming shows on your personal devices. Also note that while the house is tiny and has a maximum occupancy of two people, I am sometimes able to accommodate larger parties for those bringing tents and willing to camp outside. Please inquire about pricing for such scenarios. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Q: Can I get to the house without a car? A: The house is about 25-minutes driving from the Beacon train station. If you choose not to drive the whole way there are Zipcar pickups at the train station (reserve in advance!) and Uber JUST launched in the area ($20-$30 for the ride from the train). A car is highly recommended (especially if you want to explore the area), but this definitely makes things possible for the car-free—just be sure to show up with everything you need for the stay as the farm is in a rural area that is not particularly walkable. Q: Do I need to bring towels or linens? What about a hairdryer? A: Nope! I provide all these things. Same with basic toiletries (unless I happen to be out, which is very rare). Q: Is this house really off the grid? A: Yep! It features solar panels for power, a propane HVAC system for heating and air-conditioning, and a unique dry-flush toilet (more on that in the "Other Things To Note" section below). One exception: You absolutely have working Wi-Fi. Q: How will I receive the key? A: The house features a keyless entry system with a code that lasts as long as your stay. This allows for effortless check-in and entry. Q: Is the place professionally cleaned between guests? A: Yes, and I take pride in providing a clean home for guests. Take a look at my reviews—I think you'll find my guests agree! Q: What's up with the cleaning fee? A: I get a lot of questions about this, so I'll just break it down so you understand why it is what it is: All but $10 of that goes directly to my cleaner. She is a professional who does a great job and who I insist on compensating fairly for her work. The dry-flush toilet cartridges cost me about $20 apiece, so the remaining $10 lets me split that cost with guests. (Of course, if you happen to use more than one cartridge, I cover that cost alone). Q: What's my total booking price? A: I honestly have no idea. With fees included, Airbnb only shows the guest, and not the host, the total cost. This figure should be present after you enter your dates. Note that, pricing varies on a daily basis, and Airbnb actually uses some crazy algorithm to adjust it automatically, so I don't actually control this. Q: I am looking for a last-minute stay. Can I make a same-day booking? A: If you're looking for a same-day booking and the place is free, please inquire and I'll try! It depends on whether my cleaning crew can spring into action at the last-minute, which isn't a sure thing. Check-in may also have to be later than the listed time in order to make sure the place is ready. Still, can't hurt to ask. One last thing: I really, really appreciate that you followed directions and read the whole thing. Please put the phrase "Don't throw rocks at glass houses!!" at the top of your message so I know you did so as such bookings tend to go so much smoother! And thanks for hanging in there!
The Glass House is situated on a 30-acre farm in the rolling hills of the Hudson Valley. Guests have total privacy, but are joined on the farm by the main farm house and a smaller residence with live-in caretakers that can help out in case of an emergency. Around the farm are views of rolling vineyards and apple orchards—many of which are absolutely worth a visit. Downtown Marlboro is minutes away and has a few nightlife and dining options, and the hopping town of Beacon (home of the Dia; Beacon) is about 25 minutes away. Storm King Art Center (a must) is also about 30 minutes away. Also near: New Paltz, Cold Spring Poughkeepsie, and countless other Hudson Valley gems.
  • In a word: Magical. The Glass House is a unique place that is unlike anywhere else I've ever stayed. Yes, it's a tiny home, but the giant windows make it feel surprisingly spacious and we never felt cramped. The best part is when you go to sleep. When you turn the lights off the glass walls seem to disappear and, like the listing says, it feels like you're sleeping outside under the stars. The farm itself is also awesome, with tons of space to explore. In the early spring, we had great views of some amazing scenery. We also enjoyed making a fire in the fire pit down by the pond. It really was recharging to feel like we got away from it all. The place was also very clean with some nice design and decor touches and had a very comfortable mattress. Seth was a great and attentive host who quickly got back to any questions I had. I'll definitely be back.

  • This relaxing retreat is perfect for the individual who wants to quiet their mind and connect with their soul, perfect for a couples getaway to retreat into each other.

  • This is my second time staying at the spectacular Glass House, and it simply couldn't be better. What an unbelievable jewel of a getaway. So close to NYC, yet feels like a world away. The giant glass windows make you feel like you're fully immersed in nature, with all sorts of animals popping in for cameos. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous, with views of vineyards and orchards. In addition to all this, the house is modern, pristine, and sparkling clean; with fast Wi-fi, air-conditioning, and a kitchen; you really don't feel like you're giving anything up (making it great for people who enjoy nature but may feel skittish about camping). There is great hiking and fantastic farm-to-table restaurants nearby, with lots of great towns to explore. Finally, Seth was a great help, extremely quick with responses to questions, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Will definitely be back!

  • Seth was extremely helpful and communicative. The house is in a lovely setting and is well designed and comfortable. We had a bit of an issue with the lack of water, which Seth had forewarned us about but we hadn’t fully appreciated — after a couple of showers and one night’s cooking it was gone! But Seth was once again very accommodating and helped us out as best he could. Overall a lovely stay.

    Alice2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time this weekend at Seth’s tiny home! The farm is quiet and beautiful, and it was the perfect rejuvenating break from NYC craziness! Highly recommended for couples looking to spend time in nature and enjoy romantic time away. Seth was a great communicator and coordinator. Thanks for an unforgettable weekend!!

    Casey2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Glass House was a great time! The space came fully stocked with almost everything you'll ever need for a relaxing weekend. Even though it rained most of our weekend there, we were still able to enjoy the space and it actually felt much larger than it actually was. Would definitely stay again

    Thomas2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was great! It was my first tiny house adventure, but it sure won't be the last. Great location. Great house. I am already planning on when we can return! Seth is a great host and gives you all the information you need to have a great getaway, and extremely responsive. Thanks Seth for an amazing getaway!

    Jeannie2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Unique, romantic, and wonderful place. Seth is very responsive, and the house is stunning, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished. It's perfectly warm in winter. As a slightly broke young adult I nearly balked at the price, but he does a really great job of making every penny feel worth it and I definitely intend to come back. Nothing was out of place, lots of little amenities were thought of for us. Also, the bed is EXTREMELY comfy! Can't recommend this place enough. If you aren't sure if it's worth it, it absolutely is, and you should take the plunge.

We are conveniently located within a 10 minute WALK from the Poughkeepsie Train Station and the historic Walkway over the Hudson! Our three family home is nestled in the Little Italy district of the City of Poughkeepsie - Appropriately there is no shortage of Italian bakeries or Italian restaurants in our neighborhood! Four restaurants (Amici's, Milanese, Cosimo's and Emiliano's) and two bakeries (La Deliziosa and Cafe Aurora) to be exact, all within WALKING distance! Good food is definitely not hard to come by in our neck of the woods. WALK on down to the Poughkeepsie waterfront... Dine inside or al fresco overlooking the beautiful Hudson River at the River Station Restaurant. Make sure you try one of the five delicious soups, homemade daily or pop into the historic Ice House on the Hudson for some of their yummy eats! Maybe you're just in the mood to cozy up next to a fire and enjoy a delicious glass of wine? Well then WALK down the street and around the corner to the Nic'L Inn. The ambience and artfully crafted menu never disappoints but be careful because their complimentary fried spaghetti can be addictive. Obviously we enjoy introducing people to our favorite neighborhood spots but lets not take away the fact that your journey to Poughkeepsie is just the gateway to the Hudson Valley. Located within 20 +/- minutes to the Village of New Paltz, Rhinebeck, Beacon, Breakneck Ridge (Hiking), Millbrook and multiple Breweries, Wineries, Distilleries, Orchards and attractions in Historic Hyde Park. No matter the season, no matter the reason, our home is a great place to begin your journey.!

  • The place is very nice and very clean. Check-in was easy, the street is quiet and we didn't hear any noise from neighbors on our visit. Everything we could have needed was provided -- and more! We really appreciated having coffee supplies all at hand, and I spent a morning relaxing in the living area and poring over a book with old Poughkeepsie photos. We would definitely stay again when we're in the area.

  • We spent one night there and it was great! Clean, comfortable, easy to get around by car to New Paltz. Coffee in the morning was a nice touch. Friendly vibe, would stay again!

  • Rob and Elisa were very welcoming and kind. The room is in a private part of an amazing artsy home, nestled in the woods. There was a totally unexpected heatwave, and an air unit was quickly installed in the room to ensure our comfort. Any help we needed was literally seconds away--from directions, to a pair of scissors (I had to quickly sew a dress for my daughter), to suggestions of places to explore (of which there are a ton!). They were helpful without being overbearing. The home and surrounding property are like something from a fairy tale. It was a wonderfully unique experience!

    Jennifer2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and clean room in a unique building. The location is great - easy access to both New Paltz and Poughkeepsie - and Elisa was very welcoming, with good suggestions about things to see and places to eat.

    Jennifer2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Casa del Arte only for two nights, but would happily live there for a month! We were very impressed by the house with its unusual architecture, Elisa's studio space, the pond, and the guest room where every little detail was lovingly thought through. Elisa and Rob are wonderful hosts, warm and helpful, ready with suggestions on things to see and do. We would definitely love to come back, and we recommend Casa del Arte without reservations.

  • This is not just an awesome Airbnb, it is also an experience not to be missed.Troy is a horticulturist and home fashion designer paired with being a breakfast wizard. I wish I could offer 10 stars.

    Lois2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Super overnight from N.Y.C. Troy was a most welcoming host, with great accommodations, good night sleep, good hiking around Hyde Park, Bard Rock. In addition to a wonderful night and Norwegian breakfast, Troy took us for a private winter tour of the Vanderbilt gardens, with his friendly doggies. Highly recommended!

  • Troy is a wonderful host; he is thoughtful, friendly, and has a great sense of style, elegance, and quality. His house is beautiful, and tastefully decorated; everything is tip-top, with the kind of sheets and bath linens one expect at a high-class hotel. The breakfast is a true Scandinavian experience, with the best that Scandinavia can provide. We enjoyed it greatly, from the filmjölk and sill to the smoked trout and Scandinavian heart-shaped thin waffles. Troy has an enviable sense for detail, making even the way the breakfast is put out on serving vessels a pleasant experience. Plus he is helpful, full of good advice for excursions and interesting (Website hidden by Airbnb) We simply had a great time. Oh, and the two dogs are adorable, very well behaved and friendly.

  • The house was absolutely divine and the downstairs bedroom a pleasure to stay in - so comfortable we had a daytime nap and slept in the next day! The Scandanavian breakfast was absolutely delicious and Troy was helpful, communicative and respectful with some GREAT tips about the area! I can't wait to return!

  • After five days at Troy's palace, we can say that this is the ultimate airbnb. The place is clean, tidy and equipped, the room is large and luxurious and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is large, clean and cozy. The Scandinavian breakfast is very invested and special. Most importantly, Troy is an amazing person with a huge heart who receives his guests with love. It is highly recommended

POUGHKEEPSIE: Home to 4 colleges (Vassar, Marist, Dutchess Community & The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park), Poughkeepsie is both a college town and a city in transition with a diverse blue collar urban community. With close proximity to restaurants and cultural destinations, Poughkeepsie allows you to experience the conveniences of “small city” life while only being a 10 minute drive from the country. A historic industrial port city, Poughkeepsie is currently going through an exciting resurgence, characterized by a grassroots local food movement, farm-to-table restaurants, and a number of revitalization projects, including the renowned Walkway Over the Hudson, the world’s longest pedestrian bridge spanning the width of Hudson River. The Walkway connects the Dutchess County and Ulster County rail trails, making Poughkeepsie a destination for bike enthusiasts. Vassar College and the city’s south side also make for wonderful bike routes with cute residential streets, historic homes, and lots of trees. We love Poughkeepsie for its diversity – its people, its culture – and the way it encompasses the full socio-economic spectrum, from its pristine college campuses to the developing commercial zone and restaurant scene in the historic main street corridor. Poughkeepsie is an exciting place with a unique energy, and an ideal home base for experiencing the rest of the Historic Hudson Valley. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Gray Street, where the guest house is located, is a residential, tree-lined street in a transitioning neighborhood 5 minutes from Vassar College. The neighborhood is a blend of everything from young entrepreneurs, academics, government workers, tradespeople and low income families. The guest house sits across from Forbus Butternut Park, a 1-acre greenspace overseen by a local non-profit. There is a church on the other side of the park, and the Poughkeepsie High School and football field is about 2 blocks away. During the day, kids sometimes play in the street, but for the most part it's very quiet since Gray Street isn’t a major thoroughfare. AROUND THE REGION: Because Poughkeepsie is centrally located, it makes for a great jumping off point to explore the rest of the Hudson Valley region. Towns like Beacon, New Paltz, Rosendale, Millbrook, Hyde Park and Rhinebeck are all within an easy drive with lots of things to see along the way. Hudson, The Catskills, Cold Spring, Phoenicia and the Berkshires all make for wonderful day trips – full of meandering country drives, antiquing, hiking, fishing, wine-tasting, museum-hopping, or cooling off in a swimming hole. I run a blog that’s dedicated to travel, food and culture in the region called An Upstate of Mind, and I’m happy to send along recommendations for our favorite spots tailored around whatever you like to do. The surrounding Upstate NY towns are lovely, but to make for a full day, it’s sometimes good to combine a few destinations into a “mini road trip” that lets you soak in the local flavor and experience the sprawling natural settings the Hudson Valley is known for.
  • Seth was a really great host and the place is spotless inside but the neighborhood and the city/village is really rough

  • They place was incredible. The place was beautiful, SUPER comfortable, coffee was stocked... everything you need. The best part of the experience is the host. Not only was he considerate before book that we were getting the stay we were looking for, but he has put some time into so extensive recommendations for the area, all of which were great.

  • My boyfriend and I had a great stay here. Seth was an amazing host - very responsive and gave tons of recommendations for things to do, places to eat in the area. The guest house was clean, bright, tidy, and exactly as pictured. The tasteful decor was unique and made it a special experience to stay here. The art work was a bonus! The location is perfect for exploring the Hudson Valley. We drove up to the Catskills and also checked out nearby towns such as New Paltz and Beacon.

  • Det var et rart lille hus i et roligt kvarter. Køkken faciliteterne var ikke overvældende. Der var ikke meget man kunne bruge af tallerkner og bestik hvis man ville spise noget. Man kunne lave the og kaffe.

  • Although I never met Van he communicated everything to ensure we had a smooth and easy trip. His house is very clean and well kept, and the little care package of wine and shower products was much appreciated after a long day of travelling!

  • It was pleasure to stay at Van's house. It's very clean and nice room and it was exactly as pictured. The house is located close to the railway station and downtown. I highly recommend this host.

  • We stayed for one overnight at Van's rental home. He was very quick at responding and gave us clear check in instructions as we were planning to arrive late (9:30-10pm). Van was also kind enough to allow us to stay a bit later than the noon checkout time because we were headed to an event in town that afternoon and then immediately driving 5 hours back to Vermont. Pros: 1. off street parking 2. centrally located to downtown 3. safe, quiet neighborhood 4. full kitchen and spacious living room area (shared with other guests if that room is rented out). 5. Inexpensive, relative to other airbnb's in the area (but maybe not hotels, so it depends upon what kind of experience you're looking for). Cons: 1. The sheets and comforter were thin and felt chintzy. The pillows were flat and old-feeling. The mattress was very uncomfortable and we could tell by looking at it that it was pretty cheap. Besides having no support, it squeaks loudly every time we turned or moved causing both of us to wake up repeatedly during the night. This led to a very poor night's sleep for us after a long day of work and a 5 hour drive. 2. the drain in the bathroom tub didn't work. This means that water puddles around the feet of the person showering, basically causing one to stand in their own dirt and whatever else was already on the tub walls. This is unsanitary. We didn't discover this until we were ready to shower and were on a tight schedule so there was no time to call in a repair person. I couldn't shower which was upsetting because I had to go to a public speaking event and then make the 5 hour trip home feeling less than 100% with just a "washcloth bath". My husband has plumbing experience and he tried to fix it to no avail. First world problems I know, but hey, we expected everything to work. 3. In our opinion this room is too small for two guests. It's fine for solo travelers. Van offers larger rooms so rent the bigger one unless you're solo. We shared this info with Van as soon as we got home and he was very gracious and apologetic, but unfortunately didn't agree that we were due a partial refund. It's unfortunate that the two most important parts of renting a room (a good bed and a good shower) were not what we hoped.

  • Place was super clean and in a perfect spot. So glad we chose it for our stay!

  • Van's home was well kept. Check-in was easy. Home had AC and bottle of wine, which was very nice. The bathroom was out of soap, there was no shampoo, but 5 conditioners. Unfortunately, Van put me in a different room than the one I payed for without notifying me of this change.

  • Loved my stay here. Van did a lot of work with the place since my last stay in late October. I am suggesting this place to my friends and family who want to come and visit on a budget. Basic amenities included, but BYOC (Bring your own coffee). Van is an amazing host, easy to work with, and is very flexible with his guest needs and time restraints. I would gladly stay with Van again.

  • I was attending a wedding at the Grandview, so this location couldn't have been more perfect. It was also a great price considering the costs of the nearby hotels. The room was clean and Van left a few showering amenities/ snacks. We just had two gripes. One was that another guest locked the dead bolt the first night (to which we didn't have a key), and we couldn't get in touch with Van. We had to go outside and bang on her bedroom window until she opened it. Another was that we found quite a few ants crawling on us in the bedroom. They didn't disturb sleep and it wasn't overbearing, but it made it a bit uncomfortable.

    Jackie2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Van sent me a message letting me know where the key was to the room. It was clean & compact but adequate for a single traveller. He provided toiletries and snacks and a bottle of wine which was really appreciated as I had driven a long way that day and was too tired to go out. I couldn't get the wifi to work which was a problem although Van was making every effort to guide me in the process. We never actually met which was a pity as part of the AirBnB process should be to meet people. I would recommend the place for value and convenience to the Hyde Park area

    nigel2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Van had good instructions for accessing the unit, and had a bottle of wine ready for my visit. I was catching the train the next day so the location was great.

  • Very convenient to The Grandview, other guests were courteous, clean and comfortable.

  • I was needing to stay in Poughkeepsie for one night during my travels and I'm very thankful I stayed at Van's place. Easy to find and get in, free parking available, cozy room. He replied back to my messages quickly and promptly when I had questions. Overall great stay!

  • Definitely recommend! My husband and I went to Poughkeepsie for a bike ride on June 25th, we asked Van to drop off our bikes at his place the day before so we could explore the city more freely. He was very flexible in letting us drop the bikes off earlier than check in time and even gave us the keys around that time. The apartment was clean and comfortable, with a newly-renovated kitchen and bathroom, which were very nice to use. Our room was also comfortable and had a good AC. Quiet, safe neighborhood, about 10-15min walking distance to main places in the city.

    Thaís2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Van makes you feel right at home away from home. A generous and considerate host, Van's accommodations were clean, comfortable, and organized. The area is quiet and quaint. His place is about a 7 minute walk into town where you can find food and some entertainment. It is also just under a 15 minute walk from the train station. I would highly suggest driving or renting a car as cab service is not always reliable in this small town and, as of this posting, neither Uber or Lyft is operating in this area. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. Van was very easy to reach and communicate with. The wine and snack basket was also a nice touch!

This is a BnB City Home w Country feel near all colleges, train n hospitals. 2 story home, w upstairs bedroom n private half bath. Down a small bedroom. 1st. Floor extra lg. shower stall, no tub. Great room, combines living room n kitchen. You may use the total house. The share simply means I usually fall asleep on the sofa, waiting for folks to get home. I and my dogs are up 6 AM to make the Breakfast. The dogs will bark. I give you as much space as you need, but I'm around most of the time.
You are entitled to use, more or less, the total of the home, but I am there all the time, as I live there with my 2 dogs. Oft times we all watch TV together, and I find I often fall asleep on the sofa waiting for folks to come home. No one has had a problem with this situation. I point it out because while this a whole house use, I live here. Also I have to be up to cook and clean 6 am, so falling asleep on the sofa is no problem to me. My cousin some times sleeps in the play house, sometimes with one dog in there. Keep inind dogs bark. I also need to point out that we are updating the home, so things like trim and some extra things I am doing may not be completed when you get here. Nothing we are doing will get in the way of your stay. I just want you to understand while there may be trim, or tile, etc. that needs to be put up, it has never been an issue to most folks. (Had a carpenter who stayed a week, so you know he pointed out EVERYYHING 😘) So, if you are the "white glove" kind of person, you might pick another spot, as those of you who have dogs know it's impossible to keep every spot free of tell take doggie signs.

  • A charming space with such friendly, interesting, knowledgeable hosts. The house is very conveniently located and comfortable; and Pina and Daniel are delightful to spend time with and prepare lovely breakfasts. We really enjoyed the private upstairs balcony as well. Would definitely book again when next I'm in the area.

  • Pina is a sincerely gracious host who wants to please. However, we found the fact that there were no real beds in the space, disappointing. The two "twin" beds are 32" wide metal cots, and not appropriate for the average sized adults. The space they are in does not allow anywhere for setting the suitcase to open it up or store clothing. This space is open to the kitchen, entry and bathroom, and there was no privacy for the couple that stayed there as it had no door or walls. Whilst a very eclectic property, we city folks, felt the foldout queen bed should be exchanged for a real bed, and no extra charge should be added for the cots, or the guests willing to sleep on them. Parking was a problem as it was very limited, on street. (though Pina was kind enough to let us pull in behind her car for the few nights we stayed). We were in town for a wedding, and super busy, so we spent no time at the property except to sleep. A tv in the unit would have been appropriate as sharing the living room downstairs with the host, were not something we were comfortable doing. The location was convenient to stores and restaurants and the neighborhood was quiet.

    Nadine2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and private accommodations in a beautiful, historic home. The claw foot bathtub in the freshly renovated bathroom was an extra treat. The location is easily walkable to riverfront attractions and restaurants in Poughkeepsie and also an easy drive to museums and activities in many beautiful surrounding towns (Dia:Beacon, Vassar College, hiking and bike trails, etc.). The hosts were beyond lovely and very knowledgeable about the area. Personal touches by the hosts made this a very special experience.

  • Pina's place is in a great location in downtown historical Poughkeepsie. It is near some great restaurants and convenient to Poughkeepsie locations, such as Marist College, and Vassar College. Pina is a great host and willing to make sure you are welcome and comfortable. The bed is very comfortable within their artist studio. The view from the balcony of neighboring gardens, rooflines and churches is exquisite. We enjoyed our stay with Pina!

  • Seth was incredibly helpful from our first exchange. The place was awesome!! I'd stay there again!

    Daryl2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Seth's apartment inside is as it was described and the photos are very accurate, it's well decorated inside and the check-in instructions were great and we checked in and checked out with no problem at all. We booked this accommodation as we were going to a wedding nearby and struggled to find somewhere to stay that was self-catering. Personally, the location was not right for us, it is a neighbourhood which on first impressions wasn't great. We were quite disappointed when we arrived. The neighbourhood was quite lively the first night we arrived and at the other end of the street there were lots of young people hanging around outside, sitting in cars, smoking, listening to music etc. We didn't know the area at all but didn't feel all that comfortable being there with our young son. Perhaps this wouldn't be an issue for other travellers though. We had a car - you would definitely need one as the location is a residential area with no shops.

  • My fiance and I stayed here for a last-minute trip and it was the perfect place for a weekend away from the city. Seth was a fantastic host and very accommodating. He sent along a detailed guide about the house and a number of recommendations on everything from restaurants to hikes. The apartment itself is beautiful--very nicely decorated and probably one of the cleanest/neatest airbnbs I've stayed at. Highly recommended!

The apt is exactly as described/depicted in photos - beautiful, clean and has many thoughtful details that made my stay very enjoyable and comfortable. Highly recommended :)

  • The neighborhood was quiet and easy to find. Seth provided us with lots of suggestions for things to do in the area. Although we never met in person, he was the most attentive Airbnb host we've ever had. He answered every communication quickly, and even contacted us about where to find the dish cloths that he'd forgotten to leave out, and offered to bring over anything we we missing in the kitchen!

  • The interior design of the apartment is amazing, and it's equipped with everything one would need for a comfortable stay. The apartment is conveniently located in a residential neighborhood in town, and it was very easy to navigate to the surrounding areas. Prior to our arrival, the host provided a list of helpful and informative suggestions for things to do. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

  • Amazing woodwork throughout the inside of this quant house. 6 min walk to Bardavon and all the restaurants. Kim was a great host. Coffee and treats outside the bedroom door in the morning :) I highly recommend if visiting Poughkeepsie.

  • Kim is a friendly and gracious host. Her house is quite beautiful and the room we stayed in was calming and had a super comfy bed. Her cats are very sweet as well, and add a lot of charm to the house. Kim had lots of good recommendations for local eats and how to get around town. We would (and hope to) stay here again many times. Thank you-Kim!

    Diana2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kim is a wonderful host! She is friendly and warm and has thought of everything, whether it's info about the area or extra blankets for the bed. We enjoyed her beautiful place and meeting her and her cats! Cat lovers will be especially happy here, as well as anyone who loves Victorian homes. Our room was spacious and beautiful and we were very comfortable. The house is very close to Vassar, which was the reason for our visit, and Kim was welcoming to our college student, who came over to visit and hang out. Great Airbnb experience!

  • We had a lovely stay at Kim's! Her home is beautiful and the kitties were super sweet. She even prepared us a breakfast of coffee, fresh fruit, and pastries. Truly delightful.

  • Kim was a wonderful and considerate host. She went above and beyond to make sure our party had a good time. Her home is lovely and her cats are adorable and friendly. I would highly recommend a stay!

  • Kim’s place is beautiful and very accommodating. My daughter and I were in town to visit a university. The room was great, accommodate the two of us. the pull out couch was perfect and didn't intrude into the room negatively. This is a nice big room with lovely furnishings and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was just down the hall and was very clean, pleasant and well stocked. there was water and treats in the room when we arrived and Kim left a tray of coffee/tea and pastries outside our door in the morning. Parking was in the driveway. You will also have lots of opportunity to pet the cats. They are very sweet. it is also worth your while to walk the pedestrian bridge over the river. its a great way to see the town.

Lovely entire 3rd floor in a historic Queen Ann 1894 Victorian home with private entrance and porch. Close to the Walkway Over the Hudson, to the Dutchess/Ulster Bike Rail-Trail system, the FDR home and library, Vanderbilt estate, and many other national historic sites and outdoor adventures. Guests are welcome to enjoy the beautifully landscaped back yard.
The apartment has just been renovated, is newly furnished, and features tree top views. There is a full kitchen with utensils, cookware and dishes, Keurig with coffee and tea provided. Two bedrooms, one with a new queen bed and the other with two new twin beds, both with ample closets. The bath has a classic Victorian claw foot tub/shower , the half bath is located in the ground floor apartment foyer. There is heat and central A/C.
Academy St Historic District is one of 3 National Historic Districts in the City of Poughkeepsie. Most houses are grand Victorian era homes with large lots on tree lined streets. It is wonderful to stroll the area and view some amazing architectural gems. There is easy access to the Metro North Railroad and Amtrak train station, and NYS Thruway. Poughkeepsie is home to Vassar and Marist Colleges and the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), allowing for some great world class restaurants. We are within walking distance of Rite- Aide and a local deli. We are also in very close proximity to Vassar Brothers Hospital and an Urgent Care facility in the event you should require it. There are two shopping centers within a 5 minute drive of the house and we are located approximately a 1/2mile or a 4 minute drive from downtown Poughkeepsie.
  • Absolutely charming apartment in this amazing Victorian home. We were able to park both of our cars off street in a very safe backyard. The apartment was sparking clean, charming and perfect for the 5 ladies staying. One and a half baths were perfect, kitchen with a Kerig (and a wonderful selection of coffes and tea), and spa quality towels. We were invited to use the backyard table and firepit to end our evening. Great location, great hosts (that provided immediate responses even when I went to the wrong house first!) We look forward to returning to Mark & Tim's place again and again.

    Joan2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Mark’s place was beautiful and very well decorated!! A group of friends came for a wedding and the apartment was perfect. Very convenient and felt private but it was also great to chat briefly with Mark who was super friendly. Mark was also very helpful and accommodating when we got in touch about a slight change in plans before our trip, and also after when we forgot an item at the apartment! Would highly recommend.

    Jillian2018-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mark was lovely, as was the space! I highly recommend staying here. The kitchen is big, I wish we had more time to take advantage of it. The rooms are very well appointed, with fun art and quality furniture, etc. Mark was easy to communicate with, and helpful. It was easy to come and go, park, etc. The neighborhood is gorgeous! I would certainly come again.

    Emily2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Mark was fantastic. Great communicator who had great insight into the local area and had great suggestions for us. At the end of the day you don't get a better operator than Mark! They went way above and beyond for our comfort and were really concerned that we had a great time.

    Shannon2018-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Stay was great, if you run into any problems or need help on exploring the area, they will answer as quickly as posible!

    Dennis2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and cozy space. Mark was extremely helpful throughout the Check-In process and made it super easy for our group.

    John2018-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Tim's private suite on the third floor of their lovely Victorian home in Poughkeepsie's historic district, is one of the nicest places you could ever choose to stay! My husband and I were delighted by the size and comfort of the light-filled space, and my husband's first comment was "this whole space is ours??" The two-bedroom apartment with sitting area, bath, full kitchen and a long hallway, feels spacious and airy. It could easily fit a small family or two couples. The decor is an impeccable mix of vintage and modern, with an amazing art collection. I wish I could buy the vintage kitchen set and the antique daybed! :) For an antique house, the systems are totally upgraded. It was hot and humid out, and we were on the 3rd floor, but the central AC worked perfectly, as did the water temp and pressure. The linens are all new, the bed was super comfy, as was the carpeting. This is just an amazing place, with 5-star hotel amenities, and bed & breakfast charm. There was a Keurig with a wide assortment of coffee and drinks, and half-and-half. Really, what more could you ever need? Oh, and I have to say I am a clean freak, and it was absolutely spotless. Don't hesitate to book a stay with Mark and Tim whenever you are in the area!

    Marilyn2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Tim's place is great. It had everything we needed for our short stay, and both I and my travel partner wish we could have stayed for another week due to how comfortable and lovely the space and the hosts were. The art and decor is great, very modern, very comfortable and with really lovely homey touches like a day bed tucked in a nook in the living room area. A+++

  • Another great stay at Veronie's place!

    Daria2016-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Veronie's apartment was very neat, clean and quiet, and accurate to the listing. The bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood is lovely too- lots of trees and green. Veronie was quick to respond to our need for a last minute reservation. East access to route 9 and all points north and south.

    Cathy2016-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Veronica was very kind and welcoming. Thanks for making it easy to access your place at our convenience!

    Victoria2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Veronie was a very reliable host with a good communication. The place was clean, and cozy, offering a lovely fireplace. We were able to park in a garage which saved us a snow removal time. Very pleasant experience.

    Marek2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • It's a basement apartment. There is not enough lighting anywhere, not even in the bathroom. I could not wear my makeup before an imp event. Bathroom tiles torn, so the place looks depressed. Didn't try the shower, because it didn't look very attractive. Tons of unnecessary fake flowers and other random do dads (decorative items). Makes you think it's all sitting there collecting dust. The arrangement of the furniture was also strange and street light shining in your eyes when in bed. It's okay if you are just looking for a clean bed, clean towels and nothing else. Overpriced.

    Farnaz 2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Veronie is very charming and helpful. She provided us with everything we needed. The accommodations included a small fridge, microwave and coffee makers that were very handy.

    Margaret2016-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Veronie's place is very quiet, comfortable, and clean. She does an excellent job of providing the guest privacy while remaining accesible.

  • Very well appointed home! Clean, comfortable, and perfect for a short stay! Hosts were very helpful and communicative even during a small issue of the AC not working. It was clear they wanted the very best for their guests. In a perfect location while i was working with Marist! Would stay again if I were in the area!

  • John's place was fabulous for a small family get-together we had. It is easy to find, easy to check-in, clean, spacious, and had so many nice touches that made us feel at home. It was close to the Walkway Over the Hudson and to Route 9 for easy access to all the local spots. If we come back to the area, we would definitely stay again.

    Claire2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • I can't express how good this place is. John pay's attention to the smallest detail. We will be coming back to Poughkeepsie and we will stay at this place for sure.

    Will2018-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough good things about John's home. It was amazing and had everything you could ever need. It was extremely clean and well designed and came fully stocked with tons of snacks. Additionally, communicating with John was very easy; he was always quick to respond to messages. Overall, great value for the price. We had a fantastic stay here and would definitely recommend the place to anyone in the future.

This spacious suite is peaceful, & wooded with separate entrance, patio, wifi, full kitchen, bathroom (small shower), queen bed, sleeper sofia, TV (uses fire stick, wifi & blu-ray, no cable) Local (seasonal) sites to see: Walkway over the Hudson, FDR Home & Library (Hyde Park, 14 mi.away), Culinary Institute (11 Mi), Vassar College, Highland Landing Park, Old Kingston (original site of NYS Capital), SUNY New Paltz, Antique stores of NP, Huguenot Village, Minnewaska State Park, Mohonk Mtn House.
We're unique because we live in a rural setting, yet within a few miles of - Mohonk, apple orchards, vineyards, 5 colleges, The Walkway Over the Hudson, etc. We also are 10 minutes from the train to NYC. *If you come from NYC by train - we offer pickup roundtrip for $10 (please make sure you ask if you need this.)
We fondly call our neighborhood, "the Outback," because we're in the woods. 1. The biggest plus is the peacefulness and we are centrally located near SUNY New Paltz and Vassar Colleges. There are also 2 community colleges nearby as well. 2. We regularly have a family of wild turkeys, deer, and red tailed hawks coming through the yard. Of course the usual chipmunks, ground hogs and squirrels. We even had a huge, beautiful large Owl land right outside the Suite window this past spring.
  • Complete privacy as the use of the entire basement is isolated from the hosts upstairs. Kitchen is ready to use. Supplied with necessities and then some. We were able to make breakfast the first next morning without having been prepared with our own groceries. Internet was fast 25 Mb dl, wifi or bring your Ethernet cable for wired connection. Nice country setting !

    James2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in Kit's place. Before our trip, I mentioned to Kit in a message that we were interested in apple-picking and wineries. When we arrived, Mark greeted us and remembered what I had said in the message, and gave us excellent recommendations. Kit was also very responsive to our inquiries. The place was clean and as described in the listing. The location is great, just a short drive to New Paltz, apple and pumpkin farms, wineries, and other points of interest.

    Cheryl2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Although our stay was brief, everything was lovely. We loved the private space and all of the notes about the particulars of the home as well as great local information. The toilet is a bit a slow-flushing, but nothing that should impede a trip. We greatly appreciated the accommodations for our toddler.

    Beth2018-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is diffently on a go to list.

    Levinia2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Kit's place. Just as before, the apartment was clean and comfortable. I had everything I needed to get some work done when I got there. The area is quiet so I was able to sleep well throughout the night. Additionally, breakfast was available for me to prepare the following morning. Kit was incredibly hospitable and kind throughout my visit.

    Tierra2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Warmly welcome! Clean and cozy apartment, fully equipped what is located in a lovely environment and just a really best location to discover the Hudson Valley attractions. Great experience for an enjoyable weekend. We truly recommend! Thanks!

  • The GPS directions are a little unclear, so definitely check the host's listed directions. Once you find it, it's a great spot! Kit is very thoughtful and has everything you could need, including some snacks and things for cooking.

    Julia2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very quiet and cozy place to stay. Kit generously provided bread, butter, coffee, cream, and other nice foodstuffs - very generous! The apt is equipped with everything you might need for a week's stay. We hope to come back.

  • My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of being Corrina & Jessica's first guests. They were very flexible with check-in and easy to deal with. The bed was comfortable, linens were nice, towels were soft, and the room was stocked with very thoughtful amenities! The place was very clean and neat and we felt very welcome.

    Michelle2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Corinna and Jessica's room was perfect. The room is cozy and the neighborhood is quiet. Our visit was brief but was totally comfortable. They provide a few amenities for the room and a personal Keurig coffee maker, and two amazing dogs occasionally make the rounds which really made our day. It's pretty easy to get to most restaurants either by a short taxi ride or walking.

    Sean2016-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • This stay was great! The room and facilities were fantastic and there were superb little touches to the guest amenities. The property is great and the area is lovely. On top of this, Corinna and Jessica are fantastic people and were incredibly helpful to me. They went out of their way to help me (as a stranger in town) and even drove me to the railway station in the morning. I really couldn't give any thing less than the highest recommendation to Corinna and Jessica. It was probably the best stay in any private accommodation I have ever had in all my travels - and that is the truth! Thank you so much!

    Chris And Mitzi2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The room was beautiful and comfortable, and our hosts (and their sweet dogs!) were lovely. We especially appreciated the extra touches of hospitality-- menus for local restaurants, water bottles and granola bars, plus coffee and tea. Highly recommended!

    Cass2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • I'm happy to describe my experience at the "Southside Guest Room Getaway" (Corinna and Jessica's place) as a very positive one. Their home and the places I used (the guest bedroom and bathroom) were clean, neat, and comfortable. The window-unit air conditioner did the trick during a hot weekend, when I visited to attend Vassar's graduation in late May. The location is ideal for Vassar, which is only a short distance away. Parking is easy, the street is quiet, and the dogs were friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I thank Corinna and Jessica for their attention to detail and their friendliness.

    John2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just as described. Very quiet and comfortable. Very sweet pets, made me feel right at home.

    Thomas2015-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Corinna & Jessica were very welcoming. The house is in a lovely neighborhood near Vassar, and was very clean and neat. Our room was charming, complete with water, treats, and a Keurig where we could make coffee, different teas, and oatmeal. The double bed had a nice quilt and extra pillows. Their pets were very affectionate and sweet. We would visit with Corinna & Jessica again!

    Ben2015-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I chose to stay here because of proximity to Vassar College where my daughter was visiting. It's convenient to dining, shopping, and many attractions. Corinna and Jessica had many suggestions and even put together a portfolio of places to eat and visit while there. The in room snacks and coffee were much appreciated. Great place to stay!

  • It's a tight little street all parked up, so Van's off-street lot is perfect. All houses on the block are three-deckers, but my room was on the first-floor, also appreciated. I'm grateful Van was able to accommodate my request on short notice. It's a short walk to downtown food and drink. Good place.

  • Van's place is very conveniently located. He is a great communicator and always wanted to be sure everything was OK. Very clean place with a couple of other guest rooms. We shared the space with another couple which worked out very well. Also we had off street parking which is always a plus especially in the historic district where streets tend to be narrow. I would recommend this place for anyone visiting the area.

  • Stayed solo 2 nights for a local cycling event. My expectations for a private room with shared bath, kitchen, living area were far exceeded! Rooms within the house are all individually secure and Van has a great check in system. Common areas were well appointed and open. Shared a bathroom with a very nice couple with no issues at all. Walking distance to waterfront restaurants/taverns. All that and parking right beside the house. Highly recommend!

We are walking distance to the MetroNorth and Amtrak train station, City and County bus stops, the Walkway Over the Hudson, Waryas Park on the Hudson River, the Bardavon and Cunneen Hackett Theaters, The Chase music venues, several great restaurants and bars, and all government offices. Our porches and back yards are available for your enjoyment.
  • Pina and her husband were wonderful hosts! Easy to coordinate with and such caring people. It was like staying with family. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, fed, and made me very much at home. I enjoyed playing their piano and cooking with Pina, writing in her lovely studio and sitting on the pretty porch. They even gave me a ride to the train home. Plus they're close to a fantastic beer and German food pub :) I highly recommend anyone stay with this lovely couple.

    Catherine2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Pina is very welcoming and accommodating. She truly hosts her guests, sharing food, cocktails, and conversation. Staying with Pina is like staying with family.

    Kathleen2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Pina and Daniele were authentic and wonderful hosts who were very attentive to our needs. The location of their lovely abode is quite Central in the city of Poughkeepsie very close to the train station and Mid-Hudson bridge and Hudson River Walkway . The building is right before a wee patch of grass that we could play some badminton on. It was a great location for us since we wanted to be both Central but also close in driving distance to the hiking areas of the Hudson valley such as Beacon and New Paltz. They were so kind as to make us breakfast both mornings and share their time with us. I highly recommend their AirBnb and encourage others who stay to get to know the wonderful hosts!

    Lauren2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Pina and Daniel were an unexpected and absolutely welcomed surprise to our lives. We had intended on only staying one day but because of their loveliness we stayed an extra night! We enjoyed two breakfasts, one dinner and a long evening conversation before we headed back to NYC. We have kept in touch and genuinely look forward to the friendship over the years to come. I recommend this place for everyone. If you get the opportunity to spend time with Pina and Daniel you will not be disappointed.

    Kathryn2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Pina and Daniel were lovely hosts. Pina was great with correspondence. They had great suggestions about restaurants other places to see. They were very welcoming and their home is lovely.

    Dawn2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Pina and Daniel are wonderful hosts and operate their place like a B&B. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay and look forward to staying with them again on my next trip to Poughkeepsie.

    David2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, wonderful breakfast and a beautiful house.

    Dana2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Pina and Daniel's home is just lovely. Because I was staying for an event, I really did not get enough time to enjoy the space but it was certainly serviceable in all the ways the listing suggested. What you can't tell from the listing is just how warm and welcoming this couple is. I felt a really wonderful energy from Pina when I spoke with her on the phone and my instincts were only further confirmed when we met. So much so that I have actually planned to make another trip to Poughkeepsie this summer with every intention of staying again. I look forward to getting to know them better! Practical notes: Because it is a room in a home, privacy is somewhat limited. (Again, Pina and Daniel are wonderful people so that wasn't a problem for me but if you prefer limited interaction, while I suspect they would absolutely respect your wishes, this might not be the ideal arrangement.) There is no en suite bathroom; the bathroom is off the kitchen so I would advise bringing a bathrobe as the bathroom is tight quarters and not ideal for getting dressed. Pina apologized for the limited closet space but as a Brooklynite accustomed to tight quarters and as I was only spending two nights, it was far more than I needed. There is a large desk in the bedroom if you need to do work; there is also a quaint front porch and a lovely backyard - I didn't have a chance to take advantage of those amenities but you should! I did not need toiletries, but Pina did offer them along with daily fresh towels. I was always on the run and could not take them up on it, but I was also offered a cocktail or soft drink upon my arrival and coffee in the mornings. In all, I enjoyed my stay and definitely recommend this hostess and host!

  • Loraine and Paul's place was absolutely amazing. The house is fantastic, cozy and spotlessly clean, and they are really great at making things comfortable for the guests. This is the best experience I've had staying at an air bnb (out of a series of good ones). They even leave homemade soap and fermented veggies for guests to try. I'm incredibly grateful to have found their place for my mini-vacation, and would definitely stay there again if I ever come back to the area.

    Dina2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • It would be hard to find a more welcoming and helpful host and family. I enjoyed every minute of the two weeks I stayed at Loraine's home. The room was great, everything I needed was available, and I especially appreciated the opportunity to use the kitchen, do my laundry, and break bread with Loraine's easygoing and fun loving family.

  • Place is just right for what I needed. A clean comfortable room in a nice, quiet street, easy parking. Loraine was very responsive to my texts, answering immediately. Also, a nice part of town and convenient to attractions. I would definitely stay here again.

  • I stayed in Loraine's Burgundy Room for one week. It was on the second floor, next to the Blue Room where another guest was staying. The window in my room overlooked the lovely neighborhood, so the front of the property. The room itself was cozy and clean. All my expectations were met. It was ultra quiet. The upstairs was a shared bath, but super clean. I did swim in the well maintained pool, and felt very much at home. The family has two sweet, loving small dogs, that are well- behaved. There is an overall positive energy within this host and her lovely Airbnb. Melissanne

  • I was totally pleased with my experience. The service lends a personal touch to the hospitality industry. My experience with Lorraine was satisfying. Her home is warm, cozy and comfortable. I felt like I was staying home away from home. This was my first time using this service; therefore I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to say I'll be back one day- those cookies, the full fridge, the wine options the coffee the homely ambiance!!!!!! I'm a fan.

He was an incredible host and was more than willing to help with any questions we had and with advice about the area. His famous breakfast was also stunning. Looking forward to coming back soon!

  • Troy was the best host I have ever stayed with! It is easy to tell that he is a very skilled host and loves to host guests. It was very easy to find his home, even at night. The space is very well decorated, clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable and the space was quiet. The breakfast Troy made for us in the morning was delicious and he even invited my sister to join us. Troy made it possible for us to get a tour of the Vanderbilt mansion, which was very kind. I wholeheartedly recommend any guest thinking of staying here to stay. You'll wish you had stayed longer!

Built over 100 years ago as a chicken hatchery, this gorgeous little gem has been fully restored as a two-story guest cottage. Located in New Paltz just minutes off Exit 18 on I-87 in a very private, quiet, country setting. Only ten minutes from New Paltz Village & SUNY New Paltz and set back on a lightly traveled road for those long summer strolls. You don't even need a car to get here! It's just 12 minutes by taxi from the New Paltz Bus Station or bring your bike up and cycle everywhere!
The Little Yellow Cottage displays much of it's original construction including post and beam, stained glass in the cupola (even an original stained glass portrait of Abraham Lincoln!) and a screened in porch for breakfast with a view or just hanging out. Inside you’ll find a spiral staircase and all the 21st century amenities you’d expect, including radiant in-floor heat, AC, TV, wi-fi and laundry in the full kitchen. One queen bed sleeps two on the ground level and one Murphy bed sleeps a single on the lower level. Private picnic table right outside. And the postal code may say Highland, but the Little Yellow Cottage is really in New Paltz!
Check out the funky art hub of New Paltz or SUNY New Paltz just 10 minutes away or climb the Shawanagunk Mountains 15 minutes away. You don’t even need a car! Bring your bike up on the bus or train and take a taxi ($12) to the Little Yellow Cottage. Cycle the 20 minutes into New Paltz or even spend a day on the Hudson Valley Rail Trail also just 20 minutes away. Talk a long walk on a quiet country road and snap a selfie at the tranquil Black Creek just a minute away.
  • I spent a very peaceful 8 days in this space resting while on a trip to the area for business. It was a welcome reprieve from the local hotels and an astonishing and whimsical space. Justin was attentive and detail-oriented in all communication with me and the space was great. Definitely consider this lovely place when traveling to the area.

    Jon2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our 4 day vacation at the little yellow (Website hidden by Airbnb) is conveniently located close to New Paltz and to several trails in the area. The cottage has all the necessary amenities and it is sparkling clean. For us,the highlight was the screened in porch ,where we often served our breakfast or just enjoyed listening to the birds' free concerts! Justin was very quick to answer all our questions via email, and even checked out with us in person following an unfortunate mishap in the area(that was promptly taken care of). The suggestions in the cottage handouts were great. We tried out a few,but The Village Tearoom was by far our favorite! We hope to be able to visit this property again in the future.
