Beautiful, inspiring and peaceful.
A peaceful retreat awaits you in the trees just outside of West Asheville's "locals" downtown! Walkable to Haywood Rd and all our excellent neighborhood restaurants, art and yoga studios, farmers market and pubs. Or you can borrow a bike from us and zip into town. Note: Our house is in a dense suburban residential neighborhood and not outside of town. We have neighbors on all sides but we are lucky that our house is in an urban forest that affords privacy. This is a quiet place to write and rest or just commune with the big oaks around your private deck. The studio apartment is below the main house which has its own entrance and outdoor space. Our family lives above and we are very respectful of your privacy. The studio is SMALL one room space (12x15) but well equipped with a hot plate, under counter fridge, small table and 2 chairs and a queen size bed. You have your own small bathroom with 3x3 shower and toilet. Bathroom sink is in kitchenette. A laundry room is right next door and is also available. If you are looking for an unique space that is peaceful and quiet but part of a vibrant creative community you will enjoy staying with us and we will enjoy hosting you!
West Asheville is the best! Quiet and neighborly, it's not like downtown Asheville with hotels and so many tourists but you can get there or the parkway or the Biltmore very quickly by car. Downtown, five minutes, everywhere else, ten minutes. We have our own downtown in West Asheville and there's many excellent restaurants and music venues within walking or biking distance.
  • Just perfect - we highly recommend this unique place to stay. We rented the downstairs apartment for 10 days in July 2014. It is on a very quiet street and was clean, comfortable and charming. And it was nice to meet Michelle, she's great! Greetings from Hamburg/Germany.

    Nicole2014-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed our stay - it was quiet and fit our needs - close to Biltmore and restaurants.

  • We enjoyed our stay in this little haven! Very tastefully designed and peaceful!

    Ronita2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 2 nights in the downstairs studio and the location and layout were perfect for us. We could make a simple breakfast in the kitchen before heading out to explore. We would definitely stay again. It should be noted there is a $75 cleaning fee unless you clean the apt yourself.

  • We visited in May 2015 and we can't say enough good things about the Sanctuary in the Trees. It was clean, quiet and the host paid close attention to detail with decorating and providing items guests may need throughout their stay. They also provided an informative guide to local restaurants and attractions around Asheville which was very helpful. The apartment is conveniently located to downtown and a short walk to West Asheville retailers. We are excited for our next trip to Asheville and would love to stay here again!

  • Maria was there to greet us and was very sweet and helpful. The place itself is really incredible. A great location, in a quiet neighborhood but close to restaurants and bars, and a short drive into downtown Asheville. The space was gorgeous, clean and inviting. The view from the back porch was perfect!

    Carly2016-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • I really can't recommend this place highly enough. Jakob and Maria are charming. (We only met Jakob in person, but I have a feeling Maria might outdo him : ) The studio is beautiful inside with gorgeous views on two sides and a secluded deck, but very private at the same time. Small, simple, cozy, and beautiful. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

    Matthew2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We are so lucky to have stayed in such a beautiful home. It was quaint and inviting with a great view. Jakub and Maria were very accommodating. The house was very close to downtown Asheville! We would definitely stay again!

Located along the Swannonoa River only 12 minutes from downtown Asheville, this quaint space is a perfect getaway for a romantic weekend or a personal retreat. Jacuzzi tub for two, private wooded porches w/hammock, and swing make this a sweet mountain getaway.
Relax on the hammock and enjoy the sounds of the river on the porch swing. The comfortable, private porch is the perfect place for reading, relaxing, and enjoying an afternoon beverage. Enjoy a Jacuzzi tub for two and wind down. The studio is accessed through a private entrance with private parking and features a queen size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa, flat screen tv with Netflix and Hulu streaming services, DVD player, fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, and microwave. Coffee, tea, and chilled water are provided. Studio is stocked with care. Books, games, and art supplies for a creative and relaxing vacation. The property is located in a house perched in the trees--ideal bird watching and spotting wild turkeys, river otters, blue herons, beavers, ducks, and the occasional black bear. The river is only accessible via a short walk across the street and down the riverbank. Please note that while actual treehouses are amazing, this is a "treehouse," meaning a studio within a house in the trees! We just want to be clear.
This east Asheville neighborhood is a gorgeously wooded, private refuge with easy access to Asheville's best spots. 12 minutes to Downtown Asheville 3 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway 5 minutes to Warren Wilson College 15 minutes to Bilmore Estate Creekside Tavern, Filo Bakery, MoJo Coffee Truck, Pomodoro's, and the world's best taco truck are only minutes away on Asheville's eastside. Our neighborhood is a quiet, residential locale. Our priority is to respect our neighbors. You'll often find kids and pups navigating our winding neighborhood roads. It is essential that all guests drive slowly and carefully!
  • My husband and I recently stayed at Heather's place for a weekend. The studio is located in a residential neighborhood a quick drive to downtown Asheville and feels like it's in the mountains, especially with the beautiful river, while still being close. It's exactly as described and was very clean and cozy with everything you need. We enjoyed the games and the large bathroom with jacuzzi tub especially. Would definitely stay here again!

    Audrey2015-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely wonderful studio set next to a beautiful river. Great location to Asheville and other wonderful NC towns. Enjoyed the stay and would go back in a heartbeat.

    Brandt2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Heather is a fantastic host! The studio is well decorated, clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need for your trip including oatmeal, coffee, tea, etc. She also had rainy day activities like cards and board games available, which came in handy for our trip! All of her suggestions and recommendations in town were great and made us never want to leave.

    Nicolette2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful. It was comfortable and very clean, and it was only a 15 minute drive to the downtown area. Heather was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend it!

    Kyle2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Heathers! It was in a great spot, close to downtown but in a very quiet location. Would definitely stay here again.

    Ryan2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Heather's place and it was just as awesome as we remembered! The location was perfect for us. The house is on a quiet, tree-lined street in the hills, right next to a lovely river. We really loved the peacefulness of it! It's also very convenient to downtown Asheville (about a 7-10 minute drive) and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It really is the best of both worlds! The studio was exactly as advertised. It had been professionally cleaned before we arrived and stocked with coffee, tea, and treats. There was a packet full of recommendations for fun things to do and great places to eat in Asheville. We really had everything we needed for our stay! Heather was so friendly and welcoming, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in her space. It was our second time staying there, and we plan on staying again the next time we're in Asheville!

    Caroline2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Heather's. Everything was as advertised. We enjoyed walking by the river and swinging on the front porch. Clean and great studio :)

    Renee2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I enjoyed staying at Heather’s place. It was perfectly tucked away and had all of the amenities we needed and then some. Heather was extremely personable and offered great advice on local things to check out. Our only complaint was the amount of noise that came from upstairs. It was extremely loud late at night and early in the morning making it very difficult to sleep. It sounded as if they were going to stomp through the ceiling and one night all we could hear was a baby crying for hours. Not exactly what you want to hear on a relaxing getaway.

Quiet, secluded country cottage only 6 minutes from downtown. Sip your morning coffee on a private brick patio surrounded by large trees and singing birds. This is the downstairs unit. To see upstairs unit visit https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1950593
The best of both worlds! Quiet, secluded country cottage only six minutes from downtown Asheville. Sip your morning coffee on a private brick patio surrounded by large trees and singing birds. Enjoy easy access to West Asheville's restaurant scene. If you'd rather have your own private porch and deck with great views of the surrounding trees, check out our upstairs unit. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1950593 Please read the HOUSE RULES before booking. Most importantly, we only have parking for ONE CAR per unit, and only allow two people maximum per unit, no exceptions! (If you have an extra car you'll have to leave it in a parking garage downtown.) This private apartment is the ground floor of our our cozy gated home at the end of one lane gravel road. We live in the little house in the backyard. In front of our house is the Crown Plaza golf course and mountain bike trail. The apartment is fully furnished, including a fully equipped kitchen with a full fridge, microwave, four-burner stove & oven, a coffee maker, a toaster and a blender (perfect for breakfast smoothies!) It includes Wireless Internet, off street parking for one car, complimentary coffee and tea. All linens and towels provided. We also provide shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner so you don't have to pack these bulky items! Electric heating with two separate thermostats keeps the apartment at an optimum comfortable temperature. A window air conditioner unit is provided in the summer months. The bathroom has a custom-tiled double shower with glass doors, underfloor heating (great for keeping your toes warm!) and plenty of storage for your toiletries. The apartment is not suitable for children as it is not childproofed. The bed is a queen size. We are surrounded by trees and wild spaces, which makes it perfect for the wildlife that live here. We have raccoons, opossums, red foxes, woodchucks, chipmunks, squirrels and the occasional coyote. Our bird-friendly yard is home to over 20 different species of birds including a resident pair of red-shouldered hawks and a screech owl family. Our house is only 45 minutes away from the Cataloochee valley in the Smoky Mountains National Park. The valley is known for its elk and black bear population. The east side of the Smokies is great as it is less touristy than further west. It is a great place for a day trip! Enjoy the benefits of living close to Downtown and recharge your batteries in our tranquil home.
  • I don't know why anyone visiting the Asheville area would stay anywhere else. This place is clean, cozy, comfortable, secluded, and quiet. It's a very short drive to get to downtown Asheville and a couple minutes to Haywood Road where some of the best food (The Admiral) and coffee (Battle Cat) can be found - anywhere. Hal and Cristina are the most gracious, kind hosts and make an obvious effort to offer an above-average accommodation to their guests. The flat is situated in the basement level of the home, with private access and plenty of natural light and windows on all sides. With the hosts nearby on the 1st floor, they are available when you need them but never in your way. The space is more than enough room for any amount of time one would stay in the area with a bathroom, bedroom, living space and kitchenette. There is also a small nook with a desk to set-up a laptop. The piece de resistance, though, is the washer/dryer combo. Such a great amenity when traveling! There is no television, but why would anyone need one in this peaceful, relaxing environment. If you really need to stay connected, streaming movies via the included wi-fi is always an option.

    Jill2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was more than anyone could have asked. I stayed twice in Asheville, once with Christina and Hal and once at Biltmore. Biltmore has nothing on The Nature Lover's Retreat. It would take days to list all the ways that Christina and Hal went above in beyond the call of host. The stay felt as though I was both a guest and that I was a welcomed friend.

  • Very nice place. I really enjoyed staying there

    Judy2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay in Asheville!! It was even better than I had expected! It's within a few minutes from downtown but still feels secluded and in nature. The interior is fantastic and welcoming. The colors and pictures of wildlife (that they took themselves!) creates such a warm environment that we wanted to call it home by the end of our trip! It was spotless, comfortable, and the shower and amenities were great! It was the perfect size for the two of us. Hal and Christina also gave us some fantastic suggestions on places to eat! I also loved their 'green' philosophy, it was inspiring to see a couple working towards sustaining our environment on a daily basis! Hal and Christina were outstanding hosts! They gave us our privacy while still remaining accessible if we had any questions. This was our first experience with Airbnb and Hal and Christina have set the bar really high! From the smell of honeysuckles in their yard to making sure we had all the necessities (even small thoughtful things like keeping fresh creamer in the refrigerator for us), it was an amazing place to stay and one we will definitely revisit next time we come to Asheville! I couldn't say enough great things about this place :)

  • We had the most wonderful time staying in this lovely cottage! It was exactly what we needed for our weekend in Asheville. Cristina & Hal were fantastic hosts- friendly and personal (Cristina checked in with me throughout the weekend) but totally respectful of our privacy. The cottage was very clean, cozy, and nicely decorated. I would absolutely stay here again!

    Priya2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at the Nature Lover's Retreat was perfect. The apartment was exactly as pictured and described. They've remodeled the apartment to be warm and cozy with wildlife photos they've taken all around. It's located just a few minutes from downtown but not walkable to anything, so be sure to have a car. My favorite part of my stay was making some local coffee and sitting out on the patio sipping it and listening to the birds. A gem in Asheville...I would stay here again for sure.

    Samantha2016-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly clean and neat. Hal could not have been nicer. And they allowed a late check out at no additional cost. Thank you!!!! Their attention to detail and the overall presentation is great. The only concern was there are people above you. You can hear them walking back and forth quite easily. Not sure if it's a tenant or relatives but they were up late and you could hear them walking back and forth. Also the wifi isn't that strong and AT&T is very low cell signal. May be better if you have Verizon. Again, the property is tucked away in the woods and very nice.

    John2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, quiet, and great location. Easy access to everything in West Asheville and downtown Asheville. Christina and Hal take great care of their guests and offer excellent recommendations for dining to make your experience in Asheville that much more enjoyable.

Come escape to our tiny modern off grid cabin situated in the middle of our private 125 acre gated mountain top property backing up to Pisgah National Forest. Enjoy soaring views, proximity to hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and sleep in a comfy bed...just 25 minutes to downtown Asheville! All dogs are welcome!
Wake up to a breath taking mountain view amidst the trees! Hike our nearby trail along the creek or drive 4 miles to the top of mount pisgah and hike along the blue ridge parkway! You can be in downtown Asheville in 25 minutes to enjoy all the amazing food, breweries, and art galleries. The cabin has a comfortable queen size bed, a propane 2 burner cook stove, solar generator to plug in cell phones and lap top (if there is sun!), Verizon cell phone service available, a water cooler for drinking and washing, propane heater if its cold, and a very clean outhouse. There is an outdoor shower fed by our rainwater collection system that is open seasonally April-October. As a back up shower, we have a solar shower (5 gallon shower bag) you can use year around as needed...but it would still be an outdoor shower which could be cold. Attached to the cabin is a very clean porta potty with mountain views that is emptied weekly. We have an outdoor fire pit for making s'mores and cooking- bring your own firewood or buy some from my neighbor. The glass garage door on the front of the cabin opens to beautiful mountain views (it has a roll down bug screen). The cabin is heated by a propane heater during the winter. You will need to bring your own cooler with ice in it (there is no fridge) and your own towels for bathing. Linens will be provided. Basic cook ware, tea pot and coffee press are provided. We leave a couple 5 gallon jugs of water for you to drink and wash dishes in. There are 2 chairs and a fold out table. We provide some board games and books. We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved dogs of any size are welcome! Bring their crates and beds. They will need to be left in a crate if left indoors without you there. Can't find the dates you want? We just finished a new cabin! Click here to see our other off grid property. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21102715?s=51
The proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the hiking trails nearby make this neighborhood special!
  • Haley's place is magical and I want to go back as soon as I can! Thanks so much for having us!

    Inbal2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Haley's wonderful off-grid cabin is a gem of an airbnb find. It's incredibly designed and they've provided all the necessities to have a great stay-the butane burner was easy to use and the hand-drawn maps and detailed instructions in their manual was just an added bonus. If you follow the directions, you'll have no difficulty getting there. To be this secluded but only be 20 minutes from the heart of Asheville is mind-blowing. Great spot! We'll be back! :)

    Hope & James2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is absolutely amazing! So cute and comfortable and the views are beautiful. We loved every minute of it and so did our puppy! Will definitely be back.

    Calle2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Haley's cabin is simply outstanding - it was easily our favourite experience of the whole road trip. Despite getting lost trying to find the cabin up the mountain (we arrived after dark), it turned into a fun adventure, and was well worth the views the next morning. We loved being off the grid, even for just a short period of time. The fully-opening garage door and the outdoor shower are simply amazing. Wouldn't hesitate to return if we are in the area again.

    Nooreen2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • If your considering it just book it! The cabin was a perfect place to unwind after a day of hiking. There is no one around you and the rainwater shower facing the mountains was absolute heaven. The gated deck was perfect for our pup to enjoy as well and the view of the stars on a clear night were incredible. Honestly we have no complaints!

    Cait2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • I was expecting more “camp” than “glam”, but this place was well above expectations. Haley provided detailed instructions and everything worked flawlessly. A hot outdoor shower after a day in the soaking rain was such a treat! We never got to enjoy the view, but we fell in love with the cabin even in the rain, and wished we had another day. Hats off to the hosts, who seem to have thought of everything!

    Joe2018-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a great Lil getaway cabin! My husband and I stayed here two nights. Haley (and her husband) have put together such an awesome and unique little cabin! Make sure to read her House Manuel- it had everything we needed to know from directions to using the cool contraptions at the cabin. Unfortunately we only had one lovely night outside around the fire before Hurricane Irma brought some crazy rain and wind, so the rest of the weekend was spent snuggling in the cozy bed and watching the fog curl over the mountain tops. Definitely not complaining tho- I could have stayed there for a week and been happy! Everything was as described, and they did such a great job with the cabin and with providing everything that we could possibly need (including great recommendations!) This was definitely the coolest cabin we have ever stayed at. Best outdoor shower ever! Would totally visit again. Thank you!!

    Katrina2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Haley's cabin was even better than what we expected. It's so impressive what she was able to do with a one-room cabin. There are chairs and a table so you can sit on the balcony and have breakfast and coffee; there's an outdoor shower so you can appreciate the unobstructed mountain view in the buff. We spent our days in the city and then would retreat to the cabin with a bottle of wine.. what else could you want?? Easily one of our all-time favorite airbnbs. Highly recommend four-wheel drive for the trip up and down the mountain, and I will say our dog got a little restless - not a whole lot in the way of walking trails around the cabin.

SparkleBark Farm offers our open air guest cabin to those who want the comfort of a bed while enjoying the same breezes, wild flowers, fireflies, and early morning mist that you'd have while camping. Just a 15 minute drive away from downtown Asheville, NC.
Sparklebark Farm is a small-scale organic farm and homestead. For the past four years Zac and Bea, the owners, have been collaborating with a revolving cast of incredibly talented friends to make this land a model of sustainability, as well as natural and artistic beauty. We grow a ton of vegetables as well as flowers and keep flocks of free range chickens and ducks. Bea is a fine artist who makes beautiful nature-based drawings (check out her (email hidden)), and Zac is a builder and woodworker who has been pouring his heart into beautifying and constructing buildings and infrastructure at Sparklebark. Our vision is to continue to steward and beautify the land through agriculture as well as art, we are so excited to share this little slice of paradise!
Our neighborhood is the nearby mountain range. We live on seven acres of land, and rarely see or hear our neighbors. Sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the laughter of the children who live on the other side of the valley. We enjoy the rural setting but can be at any location in Asheville in under 15 minutes and on the blue ridge parkway or deep in the woods in 20!
  • Had an amazing time visiting Asheville and staying at this lovely farm! The hosts were amazing and offered the best recommendations on food, hiking, and activities to do! The treehouse getaway was so quaint and charming! All in all great place to stay and we will be back again to visit!

    Winnie2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best trips we have had! Close enough for plenty of hiking and also to downtown Asheville. Everything was exactly as described and even more beautiful in person.

    Jess2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • This sweet little cabin was such a great hideaway for our trip to Asheville. It was obviously made and maintained with great love, and I felt it during our brief trip. The walk through the garden between our car and the cabin was magical under a bright moon, and the next morning, we were greeted by an adorable kitty while we sipped our coffee. It felt very private.

    Katie2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everyrhing about our trip to Sparkle Bark Farm! The view from the cabin is stunning and the interior is cozy, artistically designed and spotless. The bathroom/shower area is just as thoughtfully designed and clean as the cabin. This is the perfect place for a peaceful retreat but still close enough to Asheville and some fabulous hiking. Zac gave us great beer/food/ hiking suggestions, and Bea let us take a peek at the cute bus in the woods. We even saw wild turkeys our first day there. We hope to get back soon!

    Katie2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse is one of a kind and is really different than most properties. It fits the idea of a small mountain region farm in the South. The granola feel to the property makes you feel at home and calm.

    Evan2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Unbelievable...I want to live here! You feel so secluded on a mountain...yet so close to Asheville! There is the farm, cabin, outside shower, delightful outhouse, animals, view, comfortable bed...the list goes on and on!! It is Glamping at its finest! Fall asleep looking at the stars, wake up in a (Website hidden by Airbnb) clears and the mountain view is gorgeous. I can't wait to go back :)

    Lauren2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and relaxing!

    Sophia2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Sparklefarm is a fantastic place and a great way to visit Asheville if you like being outside and you want stay outside of Asheville proper. My girlfriend and I went here during early April, and we enjoyed the cool weather. We were able to stay in the camper and the treehouse; both of which were creatively decorated and it was very easy to tell that our hosts, Zach and Evan, put a lot of thought in how they constructed the camper, treehouse, and outhouse/shower. We would certainly stay there again, and I recommend the Sparklefarm for duos looking to explore western NC.

Quiet country life in a private community, just minutes from downtown Asheville. We have a small herd of sweet, friendly miniature goats which would love your attention. We often have kids (baby goats) too. Come for the fabulous hiking, the award winning restaurants, and a little goat therapy too.
Contemporary studio apartment, suitable for one person or a couple (one double bed). Living room with flat-screen TV (DVD player and Roku) and wireless internet provided, bedroom area with very comfortable double bed (all linens provided), fully stocked kitchen large dorm size refrigerator and separate small freezer, bathroom with shower. 7 miles or 10 minutes from downtown Asheville in east Asheville. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and awesome hiking spots. We are situated in a 3-home private eco-community in the mountains right outside the city (Asheville). We have small dairy goats, vegetable gardens and live a quiet sustainable country life with Asheville's nightlife, restaurants, theaters, and fantastic hiking only a short 10 minute drive away. Studio apartment is very private with separate parking and private patio overlooking trees, goats pastures, and cow pastures. We are in the country outside Asheville (but only 7 miles)-- buses don't run out here so it's important to have your own transportation. We don't use cable TV anymore but have endless entertainment on Roku-- we have subscriptions for Netflix and HuluPlus and Amazon Video for both movies and TV shows. We have self-check-in and instant booking available. IMPORTANT: We have a lovely sweet labrador retriever, who is a rambunctious and super friendly 7 year old, and two cats. If you are afraid of dogs or don't like them, you should probably consider something else. Animals are NOT permitted in the studio apartment. Also, the goat area is fenced in with high voltage electric wire to keep predators out. Inside the goats pen, feel free to play with the goats! They are very friendly.
  • I will be recommending this quaint, studio apartment to everyone. Julia, her lovely lab Milo and the goats were all so sweet. They made us feel very welcome and were certainly accommodating. The studio was in great shape, very clean and had all new amenities. Julia left us maps for beautiful nearby trails (I recommend the Blue Ridge Parkway Trail as the view is spectacular) and even made sure we knew how to find them. The residence is located about 10 minutes outside the city and is an easy, beautiful drive. We definitely hope to be back soon!

    Nick2014-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was possibly the best value that my wife and I have ever come across for lodging. The studio was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and the setting was exquisite. We enjoyed talking with Julia and she let us hold her adorable baby goats. The whole experience was a delight.

    John-Michael2014-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, neat, very cute place in a great location. Had everything we could possibly need and more! Julia was a great hostess. We would love to come back and check out more of Asheville and the surrounding area. When we do we'll be sure to book here again.

    Lihann2013-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Julia's cottage is comfortable, clean, and adorable and set in a gorgeous environment. Sadly, we only had two nights to stay with her there, but would've loved to stay longer. It was cozy, quiet and private. I would've taken full advantage of the compact and furnished kitchen had we stayed longer. Also, we only met Bo, the yellow Lab, but he was playful and a delight to meet, too. No regrets! It was a really wonderful alternative to a stale hotel vacation.

  • julia is an exceptional host. the cottage is nestled in a private garden setting backing up to the woods. we enjoyed our stay immensely.

    Susan2013-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was a wonderful host! We could not have picked a nicer place to stay! The apt. was small but very well designed and felt much larger than it was. Nice gas stove and comfy bed and we enjoyed the patio too. It was nice to be close to Asheville and the Parkway. And I can't forget to mention the adorable goats and my best friend Milo! Thank you Julia for letting us be a part of your paradise for a few days!

    Teresa2013-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Julia's adorable Eco-Cottage. The studio was clean, inviting, and stocked with everything we needed for the week. It is a close distance to a grocery store called Ingles, Filo (a great coffee shop with bagels and french pasteries) and only about 10 miles from downtown Asheville. Her house is so peaceful, close to wonderful hiking trails, and as a MAJOR bonus Julia has the sweetest dog (Milo) and adorable, friendly goats (we were there for the birth of two!). This destination is PERFECT for people who love animals, nature, outdoor activities, and peace. If you're looking for city life - it's a short drive away. Asheville itself (and the surrounding small towns) has sooooo much to explore, national parks and forests, beautiful falls...I cannot say enough. Thank you, Julia, for your hospitality, wonderful recommendations, sharing your animals and space with us. I will definitely be recommending this location to all of my friends and family. We will be back!

    Jamie2015-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Julia's studio and a wonderful experience just like the last time. I throughly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, Julia's adorable animals, and her vibrant energy. The studio's amenities are well appointed. It gave me a comfortable place to come home to after a day of exploring the fabulous Asheville. I would definitely recommend it and hope to be back soon :)

  • Prior to our stay at the Urban Oasis the hosts reached out and welcomed us. Furthermore providing useful information on their home and the Asheville must sees. Upon our arrival we were pleasantly surprised of the quality and cleanliness of our accommodations along with the close proximity to downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. At the end of our busy day we were delighted to relax in a large secluded hot tub and look out on nature. Our only disappointment was not allowing enough time to see everything Asheville has to offer. There is no question we will return very soon.

    Mark2014-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Urban Oasis! West Asheville was a great fit for us: lots of places in walking distance to eat, browse stores, and take in live music. Not far at all from the River Arts district and downtown AVL. We loved coming home to a hot tub every night, too! Can't recommend enough!

    Beth2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot. Nice hot tub to end the day with. So many little bars, restaurants, breweries to hit up in walking distance.

    Nelson2015-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Urban Oasis was a great place to stay! We only needed a place for one night but David and Melissa squeezed us in between two other reservations. The space was clean, well furnished, and comfortable. The hit tub and fire pit are a very nice touch. We would definitely stay here again!

    Walton2015-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time to Asheville and we couldn't have stayed in a better place! Melissa was so accommodating and helpful to make sure our trip was perfect. The little bungalow was perfect for our stay of four people. The inside of the bungalow was just the cutest and felt very homey. (One of the main reasons I picked Urban Oasis) We were pleasantly surprised to find out that the location was so convenient to everything we wanted to do in Asheville (within 3 miles of amazing restaurants and breweries). We will definitely be visiting Asheville again and staying at the Urban Oasis!

    Avery2015-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • A great little home very close to the action of downtown! We really enjoyed our time in Asheville and the Urban Oasis was nice to come home to in the evening. Very cute place, pictures and description are very accurate. We loved Asheville! You won't be disappointed staying here!

    Kristina2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • The host did a great job of making us feel welcome. They left us the key and a nice bottle of wine and a personalized note for our 1 year anniversary celebration weekend! They had nice, clean facilities, new appliances and a comfortable atmosphere. We really enjoyed our time in the hot tub and around the various Asheville locations- we highly recommend the Urban Oasis and appreciate the hospitality from David and Melissa!

    Sasha2014-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • David and Melissa were very responsive. The Urban Oasis was clean, comfortable, homey, and exactly as advertised. We also really enjoyed the hot tub after a day of hiking.

Clean, modest 1969 mobile home on a small organic farm. Accommodates up to 6 people. Continental breakfast included. Kitchenette; private bathroom. The advantages of country life just 15 min from Asheville and 8 min from Weaverville: see birds, rabbits, turkeys and deer; enjoy great restaurants and breweries nearby. We are in the Blue Ridge mountains of beautiful Western North Carolina, so there are many opportunities for hiking, fishing, whitewater sports, or just relaxing.
Our place is in a quiet, rustic area surrounded by a few neighbors. It is on a dirt/gravel road at the bottom of a steep hill, so expect bumps along the way. It is ideal for people who like camping and are looking to unplug, since there is no Wi-Fi and cell phone reception may be spotty depending on your carrier. Also, there are fans but no A/C. The home is in a shaded area, so it stays pretty cool most of the time. The space has a queen-size bed, a full-size bed, and a queen-size air mattress that we set up for the 5th and 6th guests . If you book for 2 people, please specify if you are OK sharing or would like separate beds. In the kitchenette area, you'll have a sink, regular-sized fridge available to store your food, coffee maker, two-burner hot plate, microwave, toaster, basic pots, pans, plates, and flatware. There is also a basic bathroom with a hot shower and flush toilet. In the winter, the road to our place can get icy; you should be prepared to park at the top of the hill if your car does not have 4-wheel drive. The neighborhood has a combination of traditionally built houses and mobile homes, which is pretty common in rural Appalachia. Since it is outside of town limits, the area gets pretty dark at night: perfect for stargazing, but big-city folks may not be used to it.
Quiet, rural setting. Dirt/gravel road; expect bumps along the way. The neighborhood, which is very safe, has a combination of mobile homes and traditionally built houses. If you live in a suburban area, you may not be used to this, but it is pretty common in rural Appalachia. Conveniently close to Weaverville (quaint shops & restaurants), Asheville (breweries, restaurants, music scene, Biltmore house) and mostly everywhere in this corner of the Blue Ridge Mountains (hiking, whitewater rafting, waterfalls, horseback riding, ski resorts).
  • The hospitality was out of this world. Michael and Maria were so sweet!

    Keila2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here! It was a cute place and it felt like we were camping in the middle of nature with the added benefit of a bed and shower. Maria was an amazing host and even left us some food for breakfast and s'mores (they have a fire pit outside) in the fridge.

    Lyndsay2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I loved staying in this quaint, perfect little unit. It was out in the country and thus very quiet, and lots of beautiful land which was perfect for our golden retriever. Maria and Michael were both very cool and hospitable. We really appreciated their emphasis on organic living The place is also very close to Asheville, just about 10-15 minutes from downtown.

    Tristan2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Read the description fully and carefully. If you book this lovely spot (where I’ve stayed twice), you’re agreeing to a slightly warped floor, maybe high grass or vegetation outside, and louvered windows that may stay open. You’re also going to get beautiful, quiet evenings and mornings; good coffee; plenty of sweet touches; a softly lit deck; and maybe a tour from young Mateo. Maria and Michael are kind and responsive. It’s obvious that they want their guests to be comfy and feel welcomed.

    Monette2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet cozy spot, super comfy bed and very quiet neighborhood. Lots of personal touches, I did miss wifi but I read a great book though!! Thanks again! Laurel

    Laurel2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very hospitable hosts, beautiful scenery and a great knowledge of the local area.

    Jaime2018-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The airbnb was exactly as described and Maria and Michael were very upfront in their communication before our stay. Many of the comments were true as well- we did see some ants, and there was no A/C or WiFi. The ants weren't so bad and we weren't bothered by the lack of A/C or WiFi. The airbnb is in the shade and there are plenty of windows to get a breeze. While we stayed during a very hot time (85-90 F during the day), the airbnb was still comfortable.

The "rad pad" is a 600 square foot open, airy, modern nest just two blocks off of funky West Asheville's Haywood Road. Our neighborhood is HIGHLY walkable with tons of restaurants, coffee shops and other goodies just a short walk away! We offer safe and secure off road parking directly above your abode. We'd love to have ya...p.s. we've been "superhosts" every quarter since we made our space available to our lovely guests.
One huge studio with milk stained wood ceiling and large beams, shower with floor to ceiling subway tile, concrete floors throughout, kitchenette with coffee maker, mini fridge and toaster oven (not that you should eat in while you're here, but maybe you need to heat up those left overs?). The bathroom has two specific areas, a shower area with sink and nice table for toiletries and another space with the toilet and another sink, with drawers for clothing or toiletries. The bed is a super comfy queen with down pillows and comforter. We also provide slippers and robes for our guests to feel like the kings and queens you are! Please enjoy the front porch/stoop of your pad and the provided chairs, too!
West is BEST! West Asheville is where most of the artists in this city live, as well as an eclectic mix of other vibrant people. We're a middle class neighborhood with a touch of grit and a whole lot of revival.
  • Meg made everything easy! The space was great and the bed was extraordinarily comfortable. A mini fridge and toaster oven were helpful since we had leftovers from The Admiral, an amazing restaurant right up the street. The National Geographic was a nice touch. I will book this unit for my next trip to Asheville, hands down.

    Ian2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great studio! Really comfy bed and nice quiet location with great nearby places walkable.

    Keri2015-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most incredible stay with Meg. The room is even more beautiful than you can see in the pictures. Everything was clean, and welcoming. Meg was an amazing host. She messaged us multiple times recommending places to go (The chocolate lounge is our favorite!) and was kind enough to stock our fridge with water and provide towels, shampoo and conditioner. We had the best time in Asheville, and a huge part of that was staying here. Thank you!!

    Skye2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent time staying in Meg's house. It was super comfortable and had everything we needed. Great location and surrounding neighborhood. All of Meg's recommendations were top notch. Thanks!

    Emily2016-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was exactly as described if not a little better. Would definitely stay there again and I've already recommended it to several friends. Thanks again!

    Chris2015-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Meg's place is fantastic! This was my second time staying at this listing... I liked it so much that I came back a month later with my fiancee. Meg was great to work with, she checked in on us frequently by text, but also gave us our complete privacy. The space is super cute with quirky art and bright decor. It had everything one could need for a weekend stay. The location couldn't be better. We prefer to explore by foot, and barely had to use our car once we got there. The studio is just a couple blocks from the the shopping and restaurants of West Asheville, a short walk over to the River Arts district, and only a 5 minute drive or Uber ride into downtown. Her recommendations are spot on: everyone should walk over to Hole for donuts and the Admiral for (Website hidden by Airbnb) good. Perfect stay!

    Danielle2015-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • The rad pad is just as advertised. It's an extremely clean and comfortable space. In addition to all the fun decor, we especially liked the concrete floors (nice under the feet) and the fact that a pocket door could separate the toilet/sink from the shower area (where there is also a second sink), allowing both of us to be getting ready at the same time. Check-in and check-out was seamless. Meg sent a couple of friendly emails the first day to alert us to a festival going on in the area and tell us about some of their favorite spots. We HIGHLY recommend OWL bakery (get a palmier) and HOLE doughnuts (yum). We also had a fantastic meal at The Admiral and had fun shopping for gifts at Whist. All of these establishments are in West Asheville and most are walkable from the rad pad. It's a piece of cake to get from the pad to the River Arts District, to downtown Asheville, and to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We highly recommend Meg's place!

    Colleen2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had an amazing time at the read pad! We loved it's modern and quirky style. The location is fantastic! - two blocks from the Admiral and walking distance to the rest of Haywood Rd.

  • Great place to stay!

    Beth2018-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! It was damn cute and my girlfriend and I loved how nice and quiet it was. A few miles from downtown Asheville so the location was nice too. We live in Charlotte and plan to visit again so we will most definitely make sure Paul's place is available.

    Joe2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • EVERYTHING about Paul's home was amazing! He was a fantastic host, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our entire stay. We will certainly be back and recommending Paul's place to everyone we know!

    Meaghan2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place has taste, style and soul. I highly recommend staying at this location. The inside of the house is charming and well done. I was grateful to find it, if you are in Asheville you should stay there.

    Ben2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a fantastic host. His home is clean, quiet, and fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, whether you are looking to hike all day and come back to rest or to stay in and watch a lot of TV. The location is amazing - just minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville. The only thing that we were not expecting were the low ceilings in the upstairs bedroom area and in the shower. Anyone over 6 ft might have to watch their head. Regardless, we will definitely be staying again in the future!!

    Elaine2017-05-23T00:00:00Z

Everything was so easy here—great and quick communication, easy check in, and loved having a parking space rather than having to find parking. Can’t wait to come back!

    Hailey2018-03-11T00:00:00Z

I designed this cozy, small space (12x24) for myself and have loved living in it! If you have ever wondered what it's like to live tiny (or smallish) come stay and try it out! It's located behind my personal residence in a sweet little neighborhood minutes from downtown...(Uber is available). The deck overlooks a quiet ravine where the bears travel frequently (not as much in the winter). It's quiet and close to everything! Adults only... Thank you! Airbnb guests only. No visitors, please.
I had this quaint and cozy cabin built by a company specializing in small home design. Their craftsmanship is unparalleled! It is nestled in the trees above a small ravine and sits in the backyard of my house. It is small (288 sq ft downstairs, 100 upstairs and a 100 sq. ft. deck) but has the feel of something bigger with high ceilings and an open concept and loft. It is close to downtown, the Biltmore, and Blue Ridge Parkway but feels like a quiet get away. This space is meant for two people and is for adults only. Absolutely no pets, smoking, vaping or parties. Please respect the no pets policy as there are folks highly allergic to even hypoallergenic pets. Thank you! Features: All new designer furniture Brand new queen size bed in the loft Full sized refrigerator Toaster oven, microwave, and hot plate for small meals. Coffee maker with Starbucks House roast coffee Ceramic tile bath with roomy tiled shower Wide plank oak hardwood floors Rosewood dining bar in eat-in kitchen Hide-away fold down writing desk with view of trees and wildlife Real stairs/storage to the loft Tankless water heater so you have limitless hot water Beautiful deck out back to sit and take in the view This Tiny House is for my Airbnb guests only. No visitors please. Come see how special this place is! I love it!
This house is located in a cozy, tree-lined neighborhood 4 miles from downtown. Close enough to anything you want to do but tucked away in its own little patch of woods. Walkable neighborhood to a public library, two playgrounds, one block to the Farmers' Market on Fridays, and two blocks to PennyCup coffee shop (try their frozen Green Tea!) and Creekside Taphouse BBQ...yum!
  • This tiny house felt huge. The high ceilings and all the windows really kept you feeling like it wasn't so tiny after all. It's about a 5 minute drive (if that) to all the fun and walkable places in Asheville. Great for two people.. maybe a third person.

    Sean2017-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's tiny house was perfect, and Karen was very nice and communicative and made everything easy for us! Just be careful upstairs, the headroom is a little low and it's easy to bump your head. We loved the place and the location was perfect for us, we would 100% stay there again.

    Sarah2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay. Incredibly clean, close to everything, and tons of natural light. Organization and layout of this home made it feel much larger than it was. Karen is great with communication. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

    Jeff2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Probably the best Airbnb I’ve stayed at, to date. Karen’s tiny house is absolutely adorable. She’s made the most of the space and has thought of everything! She was quick to respond, check-in was easy and she provided a list of her Asheville favorites that was most helpful. Lyfts were always available and in the area (took abt 5 minutes or less to arrive) and got us downtown quickly. The tiny house was very clean and the back porch was our favorite. Zero complaints. It was a perfect stay.

    Amanda2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • How can anyone be stressed about life's worries or world problems when you're sitting in an Adirondack chair, with your morning coffee (or your wine in the evening), on a deck amongst the tree tops??! I love Asheville -- and I love Karen's tiny house. What a perfect getaway - not in a stuffy old motel room - but in this tastefully & thoughtfully equipped little house. You can't help but notice the beautiful carpentry, light fixtures and storage areas. Karen is the epitome of a hostess extraordinaire! Even the dishes, mugs and wine glasses are classy! A sweet touch was a slice of fragrant homemade soap that was most likely from a local craftsman in Asheville. Karen even thoughtfully emailed us, ahead of our arrival, her 'list of favorites' - restaurants and things to experience. We had a marvelous time, thanks to the sweet hospitality of Karen!

    Regina2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very lovely place to stay if you are visiting Asheville. We liked the feeling of being in the middle of the woods, even though we were in a very nice neighborhood just a few minutes drive to downtown. It overlooks a beautiful green space that is full of birds that sing to you as you sit on your private little deck in the morning. The Tiny House is spotless and has everything you need. Very nice for a romantic get away for two. The owner is friendly, and although she does not live on this property takes the time to make sure you have everything you need, and is helpful for newcomers to Asheville.

  • Karen’s place was so peaceful and quiet. It was exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. Location is close to downtown and yet tucked nicely right into the woods for privacy. It was also sparkling clean and we loved every moment of our stay. Karen was a pleasure to correspond with and her kindness and thoughtfulness were genuine. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

If you are looking for a secluded mountain getaway this is not the place but if you looking to be in the heart of downtown festivities then our loft is the perfect place for you. Our loft has local art, full window view of College St., high ceilings, exposed brick and an amazing balcony. We are right in the center of all of the downtown action. Downtown is lively especially at night where you can enjoy craft cocktails, amazing food and live music.
Luxury downtown loft on second floor of historic brick building. Sitting balcony overlooks College St.
Downtown Asheville is energetic and we are right in the center of the action! Lots of cool spaces to explore, amazing restaurants and nightlife. We are across the street from Table and Imperial Life. We are two doors down from the One Stop/Asheville Music Hall which stays open late and features funk, reggae, and rock. Old time, bluegrass, celtic, rock, symphony, African drumming, trad jazz, modern jazz, gypsy, singer-songwriters and eclectic street performers are a stone's throw from here as well. Award winning restaurants including sushi, Indian (north or south), Korean, Italian, BBQ, Southern, vegan, charcuterie, farm-to-table, pizza, Spanish, Ethiopian, Himalayan, gluten free, French, Chinese, bakeries, coffee houses, tea, four chocolateries, twelve breweries (and counting…) and food trucks galore. Art galleries feature openings every weekend in downtown and nearby and keep daytime business hours to explore artists from the area and from afar.
  • Fantastische plek om Asheville te ontdekken. Gezellige locatie vlak bij waar het gebeurt

  • The loft is amazing. Greatly contributed to the wonderful weekend we spent here for our wedding. Krista was very accommodating, and went out of her way to make our stay exceptional.

  • Lovely loft, great stay. Krista is an excellent host.

    Jane2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was even bigger and better than expected! Everything went very smoothly and Krista was an impressive, responsive host. Highly recommend!

    Nikki2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible location and vibe! My boyfriend and I loved our stay here. We were able to walk out the door and have everything at our fingertips for stress-free wandering and discovering. When we had some afternoon showers, the loft made for an amazing respite. We read in the living room and listened to the rain come down with those big windows as the backdrop. Bed was very comfortable as well! Hosts were extremely communicative and very open about the loft not being perfectly silent. We didn’t mind a little city noise at all, and we slept soundly with the white noise machine on. Only problem was that we wanted to stay longer! Highly recommend.

    Marianna2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Krista was accommodating and readily available. The loft is chic and situated in a walkable location to any points of interest Dowtown.

    Amber2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We abesolutely loved our stay! Great communication, very clear check in instructions, and beautiful place. That bed was ridiculously comfortable! We also really loved the notebook of suggestions for places to eat/things to do. There was some noise at night from the bar below, which Krista was very upfront about in the listing. This wasn’t even that bad and we loved our stay! Would definitely stay again.

  • Kathie is a great host. I appreciated her prompt communication and accomodating personality. A very special stay. I enjoyed watching a couple of Bluejays play outside the window this morning. She had several great local tips and went above and beyond in serving me for being such a late notice booking.

Welcome to our (320sf/29m) tiny home! We are 25 minutes to Asheville and 7 minutes to the quaint river town of Marshall. You’ll love our place because of the homemade character of the cabin and the natural farm setting. The mountain views and quiet solitude are perfect for couples or a single traveler. Doggies welcome too! Folks love our place as a way to un-plug in style and for it's location to major sights. Come stay in minimalist simplicity and enjoy the sunrise and starry night sky.
Rustic elegance. Our cozy cabin is two-stories tall, on top of a hill overlooking our hill and holler covered in young fruit shrubs and nut trees. On the first floor is the kitchen, small dining area and porch. Upstairs is a full-size bed and reading nook with mtn views. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, an electric burner, spices, oil, and a water heater (for coffee or tea), small fridge, and drinking water. The water system is rustic, but it works well. Fill up your own water from the spigot nearby The cabin has an outhouse a short walk away, but no shower or bath. In cold weather, there is a space heater AND a stylish wood stove for heat. There's a garden fence that doubles as a pet enclosure (Yes, your doggies are welcome!) a fire ring for enjoying the nighttime out-of-doors and 3 miles of interesting walks and steep trails around the neighborhood that we have developed. In 2018 we are planning to build an outhouse close to the cabin plus a seasonal bathhouse. People have booked our cabin for romantic getaways, for personal writing, music and spiritual retreats but mainly for it's awesome proximity to hiking and culture. Many book with us to get a feel for staying in a tiny home and for our hill's appeal for gardening enthusiasts.
The neighborhood is rich with interesting people and projects, including an artisan cheese dairy and the 'Prama Institute and Wellness Center'. Geoff is an agro-forester who has helped develop most of the trails and planted fruit and nut trees around the neighborhood. You may notice that we are building a second larger guesthouse with attached greenhouse that will be ready in Autumn of 2018. This is a great weekend getaway for people wanting to get away from the city, enjoy a taste of Asheville, read and write, or become engaged to their partner (twice happened!) Dogs are welcome and we are an affordable option to host small 50+\- person wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • This cabin is just adorable. Location is pretty easy to navigate to. The views are gorgeous. Wish we stayed another night.

    Brie2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in the tiny cabin as a weekend getaway! It snowed 13 inches and was magical! Such a cool experience to have such a small space!

    Kaitlin2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everyone needs to disconnect. Get away from the mundane living of the city life and appreciate the beauty of momma nature. This cozy lil cabin is what will make you sleep like a baby at night and wake up to happy song birds with beautiful sun rays. Perfect, perfect getaway :-)

    Genesis2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the coolest Airbnb's I've ever stayed in. Geoffrey and Sofi's tiny home is the perfect tranquil getaway from busy life. You should definitely check out the awesome Cliffs trail.

    Saim2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Hilltop cabin was the perfect fit for the two of us and our dog for the night. It is quaint, secluded, and has a nice mountain view out of the upstairs window. There is no running water, but that was not a problem for us, and the outhouse wasn't far from the house. We even asked for a place to have a fire outside, and Geoffrey made us a fire pit before our arrival! Overall we loved the experience!

    Cameron2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time at this tiny house. It's a great getaway for those who love a secluded trip. No running water in the house, but they have done a great job with having a 5 gallon container for washing dishes, etc. We brought a shower bag and showered outside which, in itself was a great experience! We highly suggest this trip if you're looking for a romantic getaway.

    Ashley2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay! The house is well-built and decorated in the most adorable way! Geoffrey & Sofi were extremely friendly but allowed for privacy. The land is absolutely gorgeous, and the views from the house are just unbeatable. We will certainly be returning!

An adorable, romantic, Moroccan influenced getaway close to downtown and walking distance to West Asheville's restaurants and shops. This cottage sanctuary is truly a three-dimensional piece of art, with exquisite architecture and artistic touches. Quiet street and family neighborhood. Queen bed upstairs and single reading/sleeping loft downstairs. Three blocks to Carrier Park, two miles to the River District, and a short stroll to Owl (amazing bakery)
Your own cottage in the heart of East West Asheville. River Arts district is 5 minutes away by car. Unique two-story cottage built by two designers in West (Website hidden by Airbnb) looks and feels like a house you may find in Morocco or Majorca . It's only four years old , but built to look like an old villa. Heating and air conditioning, ceiling fan above bed. 100 % cotton bedding and throws are throughout the house. Walking distance to Haywood Rd. Pizza Mind, Owl Bakery, Hole Donuts, Short Street Cakes, The Apple Orchard Cider house, Walk and my favorite for dinner, The 5 star restaurant The Admiral or more casual Bim Beri Bon. Villagers is across the street from Owl. They carry a unique selection of books on homesteading, fermenting, herbs and gardening along with interesting home goods such as local pottery and cutting boards. Two cats, Rue (gray) and Gingko (black) live on the property and sometimes wander around the cottage door looking for an ear scratch. Chickens also live on the south side of the property. Cats and dogs live in my house- the blue one.
Mostly bungalows, friendly, low key, walk big distance to Haywood Road's restaurants and Carrier Park. The Admiral, Owl Bakery, Villagers ( home goods) and Bim Beri Bon are all above average.
  • camille made everything easy and comfortable. From booking throughout our stay at her lovely cottage we couldn't have asked for more. The description is 100% accurate. The cottage and neighborhood are just really fun.

    Isobelle2015-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Camille's home. It is even more beautiful than the pictures show. We were very comfortable, and there so many thoughtful extras available to us. Wonderful location, too. Everything was perfect. Thank you, Camille!

    Donna2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic! We spent a whole week here for our honeymoon and it was our first airbnb experience. I think any place after this will be a disappointment. Camille and Willy were so friendly; they had great suggestions and we enjoyed getting to spend some time with them.

    Whitney2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Mermaid Cottage for one night to attend a concert in the area and we absolutely loved it! Our favorite parts by far were the bathroom tile and the two cats on the property. We woke up to Gingko sitting on our front stoop for some morning pets and fell in love. If you're looking for a place to stay in the Asheville area, can't recommend this place enough!

    Kaila2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Mermaid Cottage is wonderful! Bohemian and fun! Super clean and check in / check out was super easy. Would definitley stay here again!

    Mark2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Mermaid Cottage! Every detail is carefully thought out and full of charm. We will happily recommend it to our family and friends who are visiting Asheville!

    Laura2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little cottage! Camille was a great hostess and was easy to contact. We did not have much face to face interaction as my wife and I were not at the cottage much during the daytime. The cottage was very clean and smelled wonderful. It is really only good for 3 people as long as 2 don't mind sharing a bed. There is only one bathroom, which was also beautiful. The location to downtown shops and restaurants was very convenient. It only took about 5-10 minutes to get anywhere downtown from the cottage. There is a dog park about 2 minutes away from the cottage. She was very accommodating in allowing us to bring our two pit mixes with us to stay. Only one minor hiccup with losing power on the main floor, but I got in touch with Camille, who happened to be at the movies at the time. She told me where the breaker box was and even offered to leave her movie to come reset the power, but that was unnecessary. My wife and I loved staying here and will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future! Definitely highly recommended!

    Leonard2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it. The subtle, tasteful touches-antique, artsy- made the space so homey. Camille’s host style was just right- helpful contact, not too much. A really artsy, authentic neighborhood to be in.

Our beautiful and modern guesthouse, tucked away in the woods on top of the mountain, has LOTS to offer. With window views of the Blue Ridge Parkway, centrally located 15 mins from both downtown Asheville and Black Mountain, this is the perfect peaceful getaway. Charming. Romantic. Relaxing.
This charming, cozy, modern guesthouse sits on the mountain at an elevation of 2800 feet! It has so much to offer. Featuring a queen sized tempurpedic bed, which comfortably sleeps 2 people, (however an extra mattress can be arranged for a 3rd person if needed for an additional $25 per night) With its large windows looking out over the mountains you can watch the birds and squirrels or maybe even see a fox or a bear! Nature awaits you! You have access to a private deck with the most magical morning views, a wonderful place to sit and enjoy your coffee before exploring Asheville's breweries, the Biltmore Estate, some GREAT hikes or many other fun things Asheville has to offer. And if you feel like staying in and watching a movie there's an XBOX 360, Netflix, HBO NOW, HULU and a large DVD collection to choose from when we are home. You will find a selection of coffee and tea for your enjoyment. You will also find a binder in the apartment with several of our recommendations around town as well as directions to the nearest hike from our home!(3 miles) And there's a yoga mat available for you to use if you need it! It is the perfect romantic getaway, or retreat to write, read, or contemplate life. If you are passing through riding the blue ridge parkway we are just a hop, skip and a jump away. We are close enough to town, yet magically set in the mountains. Relax in nature or visit a local brewery downtown. Either way enjoy all the wonderful aspects of Asheville. We are closely located to many wonderful Ashville attractions: 2-5 miles from entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Warren Wilson Collage, WNC Nature Center 3 miles to a great hiking spot in the Pisgah National Forest. Directions to this spot will be in the binder in the apartment when you check in. 6-10 miles to Downtown Asheville, the River Arts District, Biltmore Estate, Highland Brewery, Pisgah Brewing, Wicked Weed, Wholefoods, Trader Joes Under an hour to Mt. Mitchell, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure And SO much more!! Disclaimer: As we no longer have a security deposit...If you happen to break or damage anything there will be a replacement fee of $25-100+ If you log out of any tv apps without our prior consent such as Netflix, HBO, Hulu there will be a $25 inconvenience fee. If you have unannounced guests or break house rules (such as smoking, cooking meat, having parties, etc) there could be a fine of $50+ per rule.
On top of a mountain looking out over the trees where you can even see the Blue Ridge Parkway from your window. Beautiful, romantic, quiet and peaceful. The views, woods, nature and wildlife surround you. Being that we are on top of a mountain there are some steep hills and windy roads to climb as you make your way to the top. Which does make it all worth it for the views! Just fyi, we used to drive a Prius and made it up just fine. If booking in the winter months please understand that a few times a year the steepest hill before our home can get icy enough that we have to leave our cars at the bottom and walk. It's not often but it does happen. And January of 2016 we actually got snowed in for two days which was awesome but not everyone may think that is awesome. :) Getting snowed in here is actually rare. The community said that was the first time in over four or five years that it had happened.
  • Great place to chill out and clear your mind.

    Roy2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and quiet get away, offers all the amenities in a clean and secluded place. Enjoyed coffee in the morning on the deck and beautiful sunsets over the mountains in evening. Hope to stay here again during our next trip to our favorite city.

    Abigail2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great studio setup and comfortable bed. Only 15-20 minutes from Asheville attractions. Perfect option for a weekend getaway!

    Jordan2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome little studio up in the mountains. Everything was very clean and tidy and comfy. Skylar had even put a few craft beers in the fridge to welcome us. Overall very satisfied with the experience - I was looking for a patio with a bit more of an expansive view but much of it was blocked by the trees. Only a minor thing amongst the rest of the great features of the place.

    Danya2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Skylar provided us with directions just in case our GPS didn't do the trick (it did in fact take us directly there, no worries) She also let us know in advance about a great hike we could take close to their home (we took it today!). Ayden was there to greet us when arrived and gave us a warm welcome.

    Miriam2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Skylar was so thoughtful. The weekend brought a serious snow storm, and Skylar was available for the entire weekend and provided advice on staying warm, where to park, etc. She left some sweet treats in the apartment, and was accommodating to us! It was a wonderful weekend.

    Emily2017-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • This small studio apartment was perfect for our stay in Asheville. Skylar was there for anything we needed but gave us our space to be tourists during our stay. We got to hang out in the city and discover its uniqueness, and come home to a beautiful, private and quiet house. I highly recommend to anyone who will be in the area. Thanks for having us!

    Becca2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful little getaway in Asheville. The homemade guidebook had lots wonderful restaurant suggestions which we got to try out. The space was adorable and had lots of cute charming touches to make our stay that much more enjoyable. Overall a great trip and would recommend :)

  • Love staying in these bungalows. Grace creates such a wonderful environment and atmosphere to relax in. We intended on going into Asheville Friday night for some fun but just ended up hanging around the fire pit, staring up at the stars all night. This place is wonderful and magical!

  • Great escape! Very cozy and relaxing! Close to Hendersonville which is a wonderful little town. Grace was awesome, very friendly and accommodating!

  • Loved staying at Moonbeam Bungalows! Such a cool experience!

    Rachel2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a cute little bungalow tucked nicely into the woods. Quiet and relaxing. Not far from town so you can enjoy the local restaurants. You can relax in the tub with Epson salts and essential oils. There is a hot plate for cooking and a toaster oven, which we used quite a bit. The bed sits right next to the kitchen sink. There are two stools but not a lot of sitting room - but that's okay because you'll be sitting in the Jacuzzi or around the fire pit for most of your stay. Experience what it's like to live in a "Little House." We had the great fortune of having 12" of snow so needless to say the views from the house were amazing.

    Brian2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Moonbeam Bungalow experience was absolutely fantastic. My girlfriend and I are already discussing when there might be a good time to go back. Thank you for having us Grace!

    Kyle2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Satellite bungalow was absolutely perfect! I loved all of the decorating touches both inside and outside, it was like vacationing in a life-size fairy garden! Everything in the cabin was clean, well organized and easy to find and Grace went above and beyond as a host to include information on local dining and activities. I can't say enough good things about this place, we will definitely be back to stay again!

Beautiful, spacious walk-out basement apartment overlooking mountains, forest, and river. Unwind in the hot tub after hiking. Enjoy coffee on your deck. Let nature lull you to sleep on the king size bed. Relax and rejuvenate in this lovely retreat, just minutes from most attractions: 2-4 miles: Blue Ridge Parkway, Highland Brewery, Folk Art Center; 5-7 miles: Downtown Asheville, River Arts District; 9 miles: Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Pisgah Brewery.
The walk-out basement apartment is light and bright, with windows in each of its 4 rooms that offer various views of mountains, forested property, and the Swannanoa River. A sliding glass door in the living room and a glass door in the kitchen both open to your own deck. The hot tub is just a few steps down from the kitchen door on its own deck. Note that hosts do not use hot tub when guests are present. The living room features a comfy couch and other seating, and a 42” smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, PBS, etc. The huge master bedroom with a king-size bed opens - via a wide doorway (no door - see photos) - to the living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking equipment and dinnerware, and includes a dining table for two.
Botany Woods is a beautifully wooded and quiet neighborhood one mile outside the Asheville city limits. The neighborhood is bordered by the Swannanoa River. We are a short drive to parks, attractions, breweries, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and downtown Asheville. Please drive 25 mph or less in our neighborhood, and watch for pedestrians.
  • We stayed her for our 5 yr anniversary weekend and loved it. Miriam and Patrick were great host. We were glad to spend some time with them. They gave us some great suggestions for food and beer. We enjoyed south slope breweries, Biltmore for kayaking and tour, St. Paul vineyard. We would recommed this apartment to anyone. They really thought of everything for their guest and were there if we needed anything.

  • I wanted to come enjoy Asheville for a quick weekend away, and Miriam's place was perfect! The hot tub was the detail that caught my eye, but there were so many details that made this a perfect spot! First off, it's only a quick 10 minute drive into town, but is far enough out to be incredibly peaceful. The only noises I noticed were the local birds and the bubble of the creek at the bottom of the hill. The rooms were spacious and gracefully decorated, and the bed was so comfortable it was hard to want to start our day! There was a well-appointed kitchen, (with bagels, oj, and coffee provided) so if you decided to stay in and cook you could easily do so (although with the nearby restaurant scene, I don't know why you would). The check in process was super easy, and we had our privacy, but I'm sure if we needed anything it would have been on hand ASAP (not that I could think of anything we'd need - it seemed like they'd thought of everything!) If you get the chance to stay here, you should take it!

  • Miriam and Patrick are the perfect hosts! Mountain Views Over the River was extremely charming, and accessible to all the great spots Asheville has to offer! My fiancée and I will definitely be staying here again I'm the future.

    Ryan2016-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay!

    Jillian2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay in Asheville. Miriam and Patrick are wonderful hosts and the apartment is beautiful with scenic views. We were able to enjoy the views and nearby hiking and then take an uber into downtown to enjoy this great city. I highly recommend this place and we would definitely stay there again.

    Rachel2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful time at Miriam and Patrick's house. We got to spend tranquil, slow mornings drinking coffee on the porch, and then take a quick drive to explore Asheville or the nearby mountains. The apartment was completely private and it was almost like staying at a spa. They had a huge stack of brochures of places to go and things to do, which we used to plan our days. It was overall an absolutely lovely time.

    Francesca2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this Airbnb after reading dozens of rave reviews, and now we're adding our own to the list! It was exactly what we were looking for — a cozy, charming and scenic spot not far from downtown that was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. The view from the deck is to die for (especially from the hot tub!) and the smell of the mountain air is intoxicating. Additionally, Miriam and Patrick were the perfect hosts — not intrusive at all but very responsive if you need them. And I highly recommend meeting them, because they're just about the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Don't hesitate to book this place!

    Lauren2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you stay anywhere else, you are missing out. Miriam and Patrick were the best hosts and the space is absolutely amazing. While Asheville has tons to offer downtown it was the perfect place to stay to unwind and relax after a day of exploring. It was so clean and they go to extra mile to provide any little thing you may need. I definitely will be going back to Asheville again and planning the trip around this Airbnb's availability. Thanks Again!

We think our house is pretty special, but luckily you don't have to take our word for it, Architectural Digest recently chose it as the most beautiful Airbnb in North Carolina (Website hidden by Airbnb) Set in the serene and beautiful Riceville Valley, we are also just 12 minutes from downtown Asheville (or Black Mountain) and 5 to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The photos are better than any description we can give but the house is minimalist and modern while also being warm and inviting. Custom kitchen with concrete countertops, stunning views from every room.
Quiet and tranquil but close to town.
  • John's home was immaculately clean. Great location and a million dollar view! Every detail has been taken into consideration. Loved being able to make a pour-over coffee and sit in the chairs and take in the fresh air and view. We can't wait to return!

    Erick2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Will put it on our return list to stay again, a beautiful modern home in a gorgeous natural setting without sacrificing the convince of Asheville's downtown.

    Robert2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Best of both worlds.. A true serene escape with modern amenities & close enough to everything Asheville has to offer. John & Carla, the hosts, were quick to respond & provided all the details we needed for our stay.

    Preeti2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • I definitely needed that sort of environment, it was an amazing stay. All I have to say is, spectacular!

    Julius2018-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We got to the house after the sun went down so we were only able to see the house itself. It's extrmemely cool- modern and handcrafted. Tons of unique features, comfortable bedrooms, awesome open-concept floor plan, great bathrooms and living space. When we woke up the next morning the view took our breath away. Every room has a large window so you can see the mountains and valleys while you cook, watch TV, shower or lay in bed. It's close to downtown and the Biltmore area. John was an excellent host. He went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and hope to be back.

    Maddie2016-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • This house is so special. Sleek and modern in the middle of farms and mountains. Even better than the pictures! Would love to return!

    Ellen2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at John's place. Home was very nice and as described. Loved the beautiful mountain view. Was easy to get ubers into town and in general a good location to explore Asheville and surrounding areas.

    Aleise2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • John’s place was awesome! Great amenities with amazing views of the mountains and only 15 minutes from downtown. A great place to stay if you’ve coming to Asheville for a few days! Totally made the trip worth it!

Spend a unique night in our beautifully converted bus. Nestled in a pine forest at the crest of a ridge overlooking the Black mountains, but just 15 minutes from downtown Asheville. This romantic sanctuary is peaceful and lush.
This is not your typical hippy bus! Elegantly furnished and nestled in a pine grove, the bus provides a plush full size bed, sink, and eating area. The bus sits in the shade of the forest, is lined with windows and equipped with a standing fan so it stays totally cool and comfortable through the summer. It has electricity and a coffee maker. Sheets and towels are provided.
  • Host communicated via email. We never met the host and they never appeared to welcome us. We felt this quite strange and made it feel like we were being watched from the house at the top of the garden. The accommodation was perfect and the quality of the conversion is of the highest standard. We did enjoy eating dinner looking at the mountains. The outdoor bathroom facilities were fantastic, especially the outdoor shower. The compost toilet was the best constructed one we have come across yet.

  • SparkleBark is a magical haven that fully supports relaxation and a reconnection with nature. As many have mentioned, the pictures attached are great, but don't quite capture the majestic essence of this place. The bus is super cozy and feels like you are tucked away in a tree fort in a beautiful pine forest. Also, the bed was so comfortable; we managed to get full+undisturbed 10 hours of sleep!! Our hosts, Zac and Beatriz were incredibly welcoming, helpful and kind, and you can tell every detail of Sparkbarm is made from love. If you want to go in to town, Asheville is just a quick and easy 10-15mins away; though I recommend if you have a few nights, definitely enjoy a summer sunset evening on the farm; they've created a sweet little sitting spot overlooking the Blueridge Mountains. Grab some snacks, a bottle of wine, and enjoy the lightening bugs:) A big, warm thanks to Zac + Beatriz!! We plan to make it back to SparkleBark some day!!

    Alexis2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful getaway! Hosts are very laid back and happy to help. Post is very accurate. To address some anxieties we had: bugs were not an issue in the bus as long as you keep the door closed when the lights are on, the fan made the temperature just fine for sleeping, and the outdoor detached composting toilets and shower were not too far away and actually very quaint. Fireflies were incredible! Expansive view. Fire pit by the bus was great, and Zac supplied more than enough wood. Highly recommend Well Bred bakery in town.

    Ryan2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome 'glamping' experience! The bus was so cozy and we loved having our own firepit. We feel our experience at Sparklebark was exactly as advertised and we had a great time staying there!

    Paige2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts were gracious, kind and very respectful of our time and stay. Sparklebark is a beautiful, private, tranquil natural setting. We will be returning.

    Lorrie2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful area and relaxing to spend several nights in the bus. Outdoor shower was great! Everything was lovely. Good location - close to downtown Asheville and Weaverville is pretty cool too. Definitely would stay there again.

    Jay2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend actually picked this place for us to stay in, and I was a little hesitant at first but I'm glad I was open minded. The bus was so cute, and it was a very unique experience. Being able to shower outside underneath the stars was the highlight of the stay in my eyes. Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet the hosts because we were up pretty early and didn't come home until very late both nights, but they still made time to message us to check in. All in all it was a good time and I recommend to anyone who wants to stay in a non conventional lodge.

    Jay2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED staying at Sparklebark Bus. The pictures don't do it justice. Everything is really well thought-out... there's electricity in the bus, plenty of towels, etc. And it's so cool waking up and looking up at trees from a comfortable bed! If you're a light sleeper, maybe bring some earplugs for in the morning because the chickens start clucking at sunrise... but it was kind of nice listening to "nature" and all, so depends on personal preference :) Will definitely be back!

  • We highly recommend Brett’s place. It was within easy walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go in Asheville and was a very comfortable and clean, spacious studio. We appreciated all of his recommendations, which he sends ahead of time, and snacks/coffee/tea, even a beer and cream in the fridge. Thanks!!

    Teresa2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Brett’s place is within walking distance to EVERYTHING! And to top it off, the bed there was incredible. A little pricey BUT I promise it’s worth it.

    Roxanne2018-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay, especially if you'd like to explore Downtown Asheville on foot but also want to be able to branch out to other areas of town by car or public transit. Check-in was a breeze, everything was clean and comfortable, and Brett was a very responsive host. All in all, a fantastic stay! One other note: believe the description and the other reviews when they say that the stairs leading up to the property are steep! I have short legs, and the stairs took some getting used to. Luckily, there's a railing for most of the way up, but if you have any sort of mobility challenge, then this probably wouldn't work well for you. If you don't mind steep stairs, and you're in the market for a clean, affordable, conveniently located place, then this property should more than meet your expectations.

    April2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brett's place is the perfect location to visit Asheville! We traveled through Asheville for a night with our baby and we loved the space. The studio was well-appointed, clean, and really cute. My husband and I really enjoyed the complimentary beer out on the porch in the rocking chairs at night while the baby slept inside. So relaxing! The stairs up to the house were a lot steeper than the picture shows but we anticipated it based on Brett's description of the studio. Parking on the street was easy and we had no issues navigating the city from our location. Would definitely stay here again!

    Adrienne2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Brett was a wonderful host. Adorable house! Excellent location. We loved our stay here.

    Kristen2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. Brett was very nice and quick to reply. Notable was his detailed and thoughtful visitor manual that was not only posted but he made a point to send to us. Great location if you want to drive as little as possible. Brett was nice enough to leave us some breakfast essentials and other items that were nothing short of simply nice. One note is that while the bed was very comfortable, the pillows were very plush so if you are like me and want a firm pillow then I recommend bringing your own. At this location and for this price I can’t imagine staying somewhere else.

    Austin2018-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect—great location, awesome house with every amenity, and the host couldn’t have been better. Communication was easy, and every question we had was covered before we got there. Downtown Asheville is easy to get to on foot, but you still feel secluded when you’re there. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a peaceful and comfortable vacation.

    Keely2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Brett's place is fantastic. You can't beat the location - a short, easy walk and you're in the heart of gorgeous, downtown Asheville. The studio is very nicely appointed. Brett has seemingly thought of everything to make a guest's stay very comfortable. We only stayed one night, but we will definitely look to book his studio when we visit Asheville again.

Great apartment above the garage. Very private, with large windows looking out into the woods. Small bathroom and kitchen, but a perfect, quiet, secluded space for couples or solo travelers. 10 minutes from downtown Asheville and the Parkway, 20 minutes to Black Mountain and a stone's throw from Warren Wilson College. No Wifi, please be prepared to unplug!
This is an awesome apartment above my garage. It has hardwood floors, big windows, and a small kitchenette and bathroom. There is one queen bed and a futon mattress that can be rolled out for additional guests.
You will be next door to my house (as you're on the top floor of the garage) and you will also be able to see the neighbor's house. Otherwise it's woods all around.
  • Ellie's place is perfect. It's like a small home away from home.

    Rachael2016-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good stay in the Tree House. It is very simple but clean and comfortable. Perfect for people coming to explore the area and who are ready and willing to unplug.

    Stephen C2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place tucked away in the woods--it really feels like you're sleeping amongst the trees. Ellie was very quick to respond, gave us great privacy. The only complaint was it does get warm in the house during the summer without A/C. Great place for an awesome price. I would definitely stay again.

    Dana2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Treehouse is a quiet, cozy, and wonderful place to stay among the trees. It was a quick drive into downtown Asheville, too. I would absolutely recommend staying here. Ellie is a great host and made sure we were comfortable!

  • Our favorite place to stay in Asheville! Ellie is a great host with great communication! Great stay as always!

    Zoe2017-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about The Treehouse is welcoming and cozy! It's a short drive to downtown Asheville and close to different scenic towns like Black Mountain. The cabin itself is super warm, cozy and the layout is great for two people. Every amenity in the cabin works wonderfully, from the water pressure to the heaters. The view into the beautiful trees is incredible! We woke up to rain one morning and even that was just a delight thanks to the windows and the secluded nature of the cabin. We'll definitely be back!

This simple and modern space was once home to a studio painter. The floor-to-ceiling windows are dramatic and fill the space with gorgeous light, sky and trees. The studio shares its acre plot with a log cabin built in 1930 (the cabin is occupied by a quiet and friendly person). The studio is situated 12-15 minutes from downtown (Uber-friendly). On your way to the studio, you will pass stone cabins, and bucolic farmland that still graze cattle. It's a private and happy spot.
The Riceville Valley is a storied place...the first settlers and farmers arrived in what is now Buncombe county in the late 1700s. Many of the descendants of those adventurers still live in the area. In the case of our Little Sun Bird retreat, the great-grandfather of a neighbor built the cabin that shares "the land" with the studio. The space is very serene except for the rooster that cries in the afternoon oddly enough. You are minutes from Asheville, which boasts a culture of history, beautiful food and creativity--and minutes from Warren Wilson College, which sits amidst some of the most gorgeous hiking and biking trails in Western North Carolina--Shope Creek, Kitsuma, and Tsali, to name a few. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is a minute or two down the road. It really is the best of both worlds. The studio is a perfect size for a couple and one other guest as the daybed/couch can be converted to a twin bed. The studio can host a maximum of 3 people--there is a charge of $35 nightly for the the third guest. We welcome a dog and will charge a pet fee of $50 per pup for the stay--this fee is charged separately after you book. If you are bringing a pup, please use old towels/sheet in the closet to cover the bed and couch if he/she will lounge there.
The Riceville Valley feels a million miles away yet is only 15 minutes from downtown Asheville. The Riceville area in East Asheville offers a close connection to the mountains with all the city conveniences a short drive away. It's a nature's lovers paradise with the Blue Ridge Parkway minutes away, as well as the trails of Warren Wilson College. Cows still graze the land and many family farms are still intact with generations descended from the first settlers still living in the valley. It is a special and unique place minutes from the hustle and bustle of Asheville.
  • This place is such a gem! Don’t be fooled by its small size - you truly have everything you need in a gorgeously decorated and wonderfully comfortable space. Floor-to-ceiling windows for nature views, private location (but not too secluded, and still convenient to everything). Tara clearly cares that her guests are comfortable and enjoy their time in the area. And, her place is very clean, the bed (and the additional couch/twin) are super comfy, and it’s dog friendly! Honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Great stay!

    Brittany2018-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Tara’s place is wonderful! Everything is exactly as described in the listing and fairly close to town. It was only a short drive to downtown and West Asheville. The space was perfect for the weekend and Tara was available if needed within a moments notice. Would stay here again!

  • Loved our stay in this darling home. Though there are several other houses within a stone's throw, we were comfortable and cozy in our corner of the property. Beautifully decorated and very clean, the home was a lovely backdrop for our weekend in Asheville. And Tara was a communicative and accommodating host. Would certainly stay here again and recommend it to others!

    Rachel2018-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had the best time at this cute little place! The location was great it was not far from downtown. The river trail was great for dogs or just a nice morning walk. The place was beautiful, clean, and Tara was such a gracious host leaving dog treats for the dogs, and local cider for my husband for his birthday! Would definitely come back and stay here again. Can't say enough good things!

    Katy2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The little sun bird is the most stunning little get away. The space itself is a dream, styled perfectly. It is comfortable, easy to get to, and Tara is the easiest host to talk to. We are already planning our trip back and cannot wait to stay again!!

We've stocked it with snack bars and coffee pods. It's a cozy space ready to refresh you for a busy day of hiking or exploring downtown's dining scene, breweries and buskers. Too much fun!

  • Amazing little town, beautiful place to stay and wonderful hosts! Highly recommend!

    Matthew2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • This space was perfect! Very clean and had everything we needed and more to stay comfortably. A quiet neighborhood but super close to the downtown area and all Asheville had to offer. I definitely recommend!

  • My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Angela's. Although we didn't get the chance to meet her, we did meet with Robert who seemed like a great host. The location was perfect for our trip to the Biltmore and downtown Asheville over the weekend. The apartment was cozy and well furnished and situated below the main house. Our only suggestion would be to add a fan to the bedroom to help mute some of the noise that comes from upstairs at night and in the early morning. Otherwise, we enjoyed it.

    Matt2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Angela was very communicative and friendly. The space was clean, inviting, and close to Biltmore Village. I would definitely recommend this spot!

    Rita2016-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful time at Angela's place. She was super friendly and helpful. Great communication. The space is so nice. Very modern with nice decor. It was very clean. She has taken a lot of steps to insure comfort. There is a nice small fridge and microwave. Even a couple of bottled waters and snacks. Also a sleep noise maker for people like me who sleep with a fan but forgot it. Lots of books to read if you like. Nice secluded walking trails out back that make you feel like you're out in the mountains. Uber rides are $6-$9 and it's maybe 5 minutes from downtown. We had a great time and thank Angela so much for her beautiful relaxing space. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

    Shawn2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's home was fantastic! We were trying to decide between a downtown space and something in a more wooded space. We are so glad we chose this location! Angela's home is in the Kenilworth neighborhood, filled with lots of older homes on wooded lots and ravines. It's close to the hospital system, and maybe a mile from downtown. I loved getting up each morning and stepping outside to listen to the birds and look for wildlife. Angela's family was helpful for getting us checked in and they were very easy to talk to. The space itself was beautiful and modern and very cozy. I loved having the big sliding doors to look out to the woods.

    Jennifer2018-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's place was perfect for our weekend getaway. She welcomed us upon arrival, showed us around, introduced us to her dog, and gave us tips on where to go eat, see live music, and grab a beer. The house was very clean, had lots of extras such as coffee, hot chocolate, candy from a local chocolate store, water in the fridge, etc. We can't wait to go back and visit again when it's warmer and hike the nearby trails! We highly recommend Angela's AirBNB!

Simple, clean and comfy w/ queen-sized bed, private bath, good shower, fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, & wireless internet. Breakfast is on your own, but why eat in your room when Foodtopia awaits you? We are LGBTQ and straight friendly. People of Color and white people are welcome. Our home is an urban micro-farm in the making and a land partner in Patchwork Urban Farms. (We’ve prioritize cultivating pollinator habitat and building soil over manicuring a lawn). We are an easy walk or bike to the River Arts District (less than 1/2 mile) and Downtown (1/2 mile to Southslope, then another few blocks to Pritchard Park). It's downhill all the way home from downtown :) You can bike to West Asheville (less than 2 miles) or UNCA (about 3 miles). We're also really close to Biltmore Village and the entrance to the Biltmore Estate (less than 2 miles). Pet friendly for dogs with well-behaved humans (**see notes below re: dogs). Dogs count as an EXTRA guest. (So if there are two humans and one dog that's three guests altogether.) We love Asheville & love to help others love it too. We're happy to offer guidance and suggestions or to leave you to have your own experience. Check out our guidebook for this listing. Our place is simple and affordable but with the added bonus of a private bath and private entrance. You will be welcome and comfortable here. (**A note for visitors with dogs: I love dogs. Absolutely love 'em. I don't provide a crate, and your dog cannot be on the bed. Yes, I will know. If your dog has never stayed in a crate before this won't be a good place to get him or her used to it. Try it at home first. I prefer you not leave your dog here while you're gone. They tend to feel stressed in a strange place, hearing strange noises. So please be prepared to take your dog with you when you go out. Asheville is a very dog-friendly town. Lot's of places with outdoor seating and a few that allow dogs inside. When you arrive there will likely be a moment of excitement when your dog meets our dog, Minnie. Expect barking and sniffing. It's a good idea to let your dog have a walk across the street after traveling and the excitement of meeting another dog in a new place. Thanks!)
The South French Broad neighborhood is on the south-west fringes of downtown so it's easy to get most anywhere in Asheville. I love the urban stream right across the street, the proximity to the river and how it's perfectly situated to be a leading area for urban sustainability and urban agriculture.
  • I highly enjoyed staying at Michele's house:-) the room and bed were very comfy, and after a harrowing drive from Savannah; with hurricane Joaquin at my back bumper, (!!!) I landed with a sweet welcoming host, took a hot bath, climbed into soft yummy sheets, and had an amazingly restorative sleep:-)

    Cynthia2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the convenient location of Michelle's house and having a private entrance so we feel we were intruding when we came in late at night. Michelle was very nice and accommodating. The only issue was the room was next to the garage and the first night there was a strong gasoline odor due to a leak in her scooter parked in the garage. The next day Michelle moved it brought in fans to clear the smell and it was fine the next 2 nights.

    Margie2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • The room was great - it was neat and clean, and exactly as advertised. Great location for walking to the River Arts District or the downtown area. I highly recommend it for visitors to Asheville who are looking for a comfortable room at a great price point.

    Katie2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Michelle's! The room is simple with some cool old furniture and clean with some very nice personal touches: coffee maker with coffee and cream, mini-fridge, candles and incense). Also, the bed was very comfortable (firm without being too hard). The room has a private entrance and bathroom, which was also very clean with really hot water and plenty of clean towels. Michelle is friendly and thoughtful and offered some good suggestions of places to eat and drink. She was available if we needed her, but non-intrusive otherwise. Highly recommended!

    Tina2012-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved being able to walk to both the downtown and the River Arts district. Comfortable bed, good airflow, and we felt well cared for by the little touches like cream in the fridge and a stack of interesting restaurant menus. The room is small, no desk/table, but perfect for our budget. We would definitely recommend it to friends interesting in exploring wonderful Asheville!

    Delia2013-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Bobby's house! The room was downstairs and very private and he was very helpful with suggestions for things to do around town.

    Joseph2013-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly hosts, great location, excellent value. They're dog friendly, which worked for me (and Fred). I was happy with my stay in Asheville and would recommend this listing for anyone looking for an affordable room right next to downtown.

    Hank2013-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable. Appreciated the Internet access and the coffee pot! The private access is a definite asset. Would definitely recommend.

This Arts 'n Crafts inspired retreat was created to feel peaceful, warm, cozy, and quiet. Everyone who visits comments on the perfect feel of this space. It is literally five minutes from everything! I adore children but this is for adults only. Please be respectful of the no pet policy. There are folks highly allergic to even hypoallergenic pets. Thank you! This space is for my Airbnb guests only. No visitors, please.
Beautiful Arts 'n Crafts Style Cottage! I have a beautiful one bedroom private house with one full bath for adults only. There is also a futon in the loft space if needed. Every once in awhile I will offer a minimum stay of one night if there are no other nights available around it. Why choose my space: --The "feel" of the space is one of peaceful quiet and thoughtful design. You will feel it as soon as you walk in. --Everything is new, cozy and comfortable. --Along with being a writer, providing an exceptional guest experience is part of my livelihood. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people, getting them acquainted with the beauty and fun of Asheville, and providing any level of connection with which you are comfortable. I'm as available as you need me to be. I can check in daily through text/email/phone or step back completely until you ask for assistance. --You can walk to the Blue Ridge Parkway and hike the Mountain to Sea trail every morning. --The house is exactly 6.5 miles (7 minutes) from all the downtown restaurants, music, breweries and activities. --The quiet, lovely little neighborhood is on a cul-de-sac type loop with little to no traffic. --On the less congested east side of Asheville...away from the hustle-bustle when you are ready to bring a close to your day. Features: -Personally designed by owner with many upgraded design details -Real wood burning fireplace (firewood not provided) -Wide plank oak hardwood floors in main living area and bedroom -New luxuriously soft carpet (as enviro-friendly as carpet gets) in the loft -Ceramic tile bathroom and extra large shower stall -Washer and Dryer (for guests staying a week or longer) -Stainless Steel appliances -Concrete counter tops -Cable TV and Excellent/consistent Wi-fi -Fully equipped kitchen -New queen-sized Simmons top of the line mattress, pillows and soft sheets! -Central heat and air -Private porch with Adirondack chairs -Walk in closet in bedroom -Carport -Storage building connected to carport to store your extras (bikes, etc.) Looking for: Quiet, non-smoking, no drugs, no drama, no pets and adults only. Please purchase travel insurance if you are concerned about anything changing your plans...especially for weather. A big snow event can be frustrating and possibly cause a cancellation due to inability to get to Asheville. Location: -Off of 74A East, a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway and I-40 -Tucked away in the woods (my friends all comment on how quiet it is here) -Tucked away but minutes from everything -6.5 miles from downtown -Uber readily available (about a $10-15 minute ride has been reported by guests). The house is located on a small, wooded, looped street, so it is very quiet with little traffic. There is a walking trail to the Blue Ridge Parkway and we get bears walking through the neighborhood from time to time. I am about 5 miles from the Biltmore Estate, 25 minutes from the airport, 7 minutes from downtown, 2 minutes from I-40 and 240 to get anywhere easily, a 2 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway near the Visitors' Center and 2 minutes from Shoji Spa overlooking the Parkway. Asheville has the best weather, music, breweries, wine shops, restaurants, art studios, festivals, outdoor events and wildlife. Everything is here! I love it! There is an in-law unit attached in the back and underneath the loft space. Please be respectful of the privacy of each space. Also, please keep shoes downstairs to keep noise level down for those staying in the in-law suite below. If you would like to reserve the back unit here is the link: https://abnb.me/3a3QWEpB1P I will email you a list of my Asheville favorites after booking. The list is also in the guest binder in the house.
  • Karen’s place is a perfect homebase for your trip to Asheville. It felt very convenient to everything we wanted to do. Karen’s recommendations and brochures she stocks in the house are very helpful. It’s clean, stylish, and very comfortable.

    Erica2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay here, and every bit as wonderful as the first. Karen's place is secluded, but central to everything you might want to see. She has a notebook full of excellent suggestions for things to see and eat, which was helpful even after we've been to the area several times. Karen's easy to get in touch with should you need her, but once you've checked in, you shouldn't want for anything. Love, love staying here, and hope to return again soon.

    Alison2016-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • My parents definitely enjoyed the house and the beautiful surroundings!

    Heather2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing home for an exceptional price. We had a wonderful stay and felt like we got more than our money's worth at Karen's place. The home is beautiful, immaculate, and the kitchen is well equipped. We have already told several people about this rental. If you are going to Asheville, you should definitely stay here. We'll be back many times, I am sure.

    Natalie2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house was amazing! Karen had a great list of places to eat and visit that we found very helpful.

    Karissa2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible place to stay. Karen's home, warm, relaxing, and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet, and very close to Asheville. She contacted us before and during our stay, and came by to visit on our last day. She is a GREAT host.

    Jim2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s place is definitely one of my favorites! Extremely welcoming & cozy while being the perfect location to explore all that Asheville has to offer. Karen’s hospitality is something to be recognized!

Country setting and close to town - the perfect mix. Just a short 14 minute drive on the river to downtown Asheville and the River Arts District. Completely unwind in this peaceful setting - relax on the hammock and listen to the sounds of the bold creek. The beautiful studio apartment, with kitchen and laundry, welcomes you after a day of exploring. Nearby attractions include: white water rafting, kayaking, hiking, and all the wonderful restaurants, breweries and shops of downtown Asheville.
Studio apartment in finished basement of residential house. On a quiet private road.
  • Randy's place is super clean, nicely decorated, and located within a short drive to downtown Asheville but far enough away for a quiet stay. The amenities are great - especially the washer and dryer. Directions (with photos! ) to the space were super helpful and made check-in really easy.

    Heather2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend Randy’s place for anyone who wants a get away to Asheville, Randy and his family were great hosts and their place was beautiful and they were extremely accommodating.

  • Excellent location, beautiful place

  • Nice country space with nice grounds and a friendly greet from Randy

    Jeff2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great airbnb! It is located a little out of town so the area is super quiet and scenic. Beautiful little river in the backyard. Randy was a great host and helped us start a campfire in the firepit to cook smores (they provided a complimentary smores kit too). We only stayed for a night but wished it was for much longer.

    Emily2018-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to unwind and relax while staying in Asheville. Close to downtown with a homey feel. We will not hesitate to stay at Randy's place again.

    Robin2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is gorgeous and in a great location! Randy was so helpful and made sure we could find our way. The apartment has a full kitchen and everything we needed. Definitely would recommend!

We are in the very upper echelon of guest satisfaction; a superhost for 7 consecutive quarters; 117 reservations in the past year, each giving 5 star reviews; meaning there is no higher level of guest satisfaction. Spacious, private and lovely, this one-bedroom apartment is on the lower level of our three-story home. You've own private entrance and deck. You’re in the woods but 5-10 minutes away from popular spots, downtown, Biltmore Estate, the Blue Ridge Parkway and River Arts District.
We are in the upper echelon of guest satisfaction as 100% of our 117 reservations last year gave us a 5 star rating, meaning there is in essence, no higher level of guest satisfaction than what we have attained. We were chosen by a senior AirBnB staff to be the place they stayed at. "The two of you are the definition of what it means to be a remarkable AirBnB host. The care you put into the host-guest relationship is noticed and truly appreciated." Another recent guest said "You guys were amazing, by far the best AirBnB stay I have ever had! Out of the numerous stays I have had through AirBnB, this was my best trip by far." Spacious, very private, peaceful and lovely, this one-bedroom apartment is on the lower level of a 2013 built, three-story, local notable artist’s home. Amongst other amenities, it has filtered water, a mini-fridge, small microwave, and coffee maker. There is not a stove/oven. Situated in a quiet, historic Asheville neighborhood – Kenilworth - there is lots of natural light through windows that face the woods. Enter through your own private entrance and enjoy your own deck overlooking the lush woods for three seasons, or a mountain view when the leaves are down. It is very private giving you all the space you need. Tall, mature trees grace your entrance and apartment, giving the visual perspective of being in a tree house. You hear the sounds of Asheville in the woods, everything from the train toot, to the plentiful birds, to the foxes in the neighborhood. This special hide-away is centrally located & 5-10 minutes to just about all of Asheville's major destinations, including Downtown, Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Village, and River Arts District. Sleeps up to five guests with a master bedroom, sleeping nook off the living room with a full sized bed, and room for air mattresses in the living room. A one-of-a kind custom made wooden pallet bed frame holds the extremely comfortable king sized bed, with luxurious linens. Many guests said it was the best bed they ever slept on. The living room couch can be used for sleeping for the extra teenager. LGBT, family & kid friendly. Calming colors, organic cork floors throughout and eco-friendly. We have a dog and two cats and while our AirBnB guests are in their own quarters, we have found it becomes too complicated to allow other pets. As such, we cannot accept reservations with pets. Lynn is an Asheville artist, who has shown nationally and can guide you to some of the most interesting art related places in town (in addition to her own River Arts District studio). Lynn also gives 2-3 day individual (or multiple people) artist retreats at her studio. Special Retreat discount for people who are our AirBnB guests. Jake is an ethics and compliance consultant. He is considered an accomplished chef by all who have dined at the house, and for stays of four or more nights, schedules permitting, it would give him pleasure to create a gourmet breakfast for you for one morning of your stay (included in the price). This Airbnb listing has been permitted by the City of Asheville. The Neighborhood Kenilworth is one of Asheville’s wonderful historic neighborhoods, a unique gem with its own distinct feel. You’re in the woods but 5-10 minutes away from all the major attractions, downtown, Biltmore Estate, Biltmore Village, the Blue Ridge Parkway and River Arts District. Majestic trees, safe streets, eclectic mix of housing styles and the 19-acre Kenilworth Lake – a 15 minute walk from the house - makes walking here great fun. Special Offer for Guests Schedule a min-retreat with Lynn while you’re here as our AirBnB guest and receive a 10% discount for the Retreat. We love living in Asheville and in our home, and we'd love to make your stay here be everything you want it to be - and more. Should you stay with us, we hope it will feel like a home away from home. Please let us know in anyway we can assist you.

  • This place was fantastic. Lynn and Jake were incredibly helpful providing recommendations for great food and great beer. The place itself was inviting, better than the pictures and there were homemade pumpkin seeds waiting for us when we arrived. And Jake cooks a mean omelet.

    Jake2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jake and Lynn were great hosts and very friendly! Their space was great and the back deck worth the price of admission alone! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • This was a great experience! Checking in and communication were easy. The space was beautiful, clean and exactly as described. This is definitely the kind of place you can relax in. Lynn and Jake were great hosts and I would highly recommend!

    Cindy2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jake & Lynn's place was fantastic! I was traveling with my mother and we had all the room we needed. My Mom slept in the master bedroom and I slept in the sleeping nook area. The family room was very cozy and I felt like I was right in my own home. It is obvious that this apartment has been recently renovated - everything is in perfect condition. The unit faces the trees and it is beautiful. The home itself feels tucked far away into the woods, but it is incredibly convenient to many things. We arrived very late in the evening (close to midnight) and Jake stayed up to make sure our arrival process was smooth. Jake was a fantastic host and gave us multiple recommendations on places to eat while in town. If we are ever back in Asheville we would definitely stay here again! Thank You!

    Liz2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • It felt like a house away from home. Jake and Lynn go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and make sure you have a good time.

    Yara2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't meet Lynn but got a sense of her creativity from her art and other items decorating the apartment. Jake was very welcoming and we appreciate the special recognition of our anniversary, Thanks. The assortment of soaps and shampoos were a nice touch. We enjoyed relaxing on the very comfortable bed and furniture as well as on the sizable deck.

    Janey2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house and location. Lynn and Jake are the perfect hosts. We will be returning to the house again.

    Susan M2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The moment we stepped into the house, we knew we had not reserved enough nights in Asheville! The space alone made us want to come back for at least a full week's retreat. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Jake and Lynn (who kindly informed us they would be out of town before we booked), but they provided us with a comprehensive list of things to do in Asheville beforehand, and made sure we had everything we needed via messages. We had some unexpected turns on our way to Asheville and arrived later than we had anticipated, but their house sitter Erin was extremely kind and flexible in helping us check in nevertheless. The neighbourhood is beautiful and quiet, and a very short and easy drive from downtown Asheville. We hope we get a chance to book another stay with Jake and Lynn!

"Studio C" Cozy efficiency on first floor in heart of downtown, epicenter of the brewery district. You can walk to all restaurants and breweries in minutes, or cook your own meals in the equipped kitchen. Queen latex bed with roll out full size bed. Claw foot tub for soaking. Roku TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sling and more.
Downtown! Walk to everything in seconds, this is IN downtown, not near it. Charming 1920's building with efficiency apartment on first floor (upstairs is another rental, some guests may be heavier footed than others) in safe neighborhood. Private parking. Walking convenient to all restaurants, breweries, co-op, theater, music venues and more.
Residential charm with downtown living Great neighbors No need for a car
  • Studio C was great! Space was small, so you should be comfortable in a studio (as the name implies). This is perfect for a weekend getaway in Asheville.

    Jonathan2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • As described, perfect for lots of the breweries (although Asheville is a great town for walking, so you're not far from anything really) we really enjoyed our stay, easy communication and very accommodating, thank you April and Mike.

    Becca2015-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • The property was as presented with a great location for exploring downtown Asheville. Many things to do and see within walking distance plus just two blocks from the Orange Peel to catch some music. Visited the Grey Eagle for music which is around a mile away for some great music. Bed sleeps very well. Plenty of towels, information on the area, and coffee. The hose even delivered fresh cream for our coffee during our visit. Nice and quite. Almost like being home.

    James2016-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great comfy loft and the location is in the center of absolutely everything. Huge thumbs up!!

    Mark2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking to explore Asheville and don't want to drive in and out of town - this studio apartment will suit your needs. Well within walking distance of many downtown restaurants and drinking establishments (e.g. breweries). Clean and functional with a nicely equipped kitchen and a firm mattress. One caution for those who may have limitations, the bathtub/shower requires a fairly high step in/step out. We didn't have an issue with it (we're in our sixties and pretty fit). Otherwise, the apartment really met and exceeded our expectations.

    William2017-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome rental, great location and a very easy accommodating host. Would airbnb again.

Beautiful custom built space!! Tastefully decorated, first class accommodations on the mountain overlooking Asheville. THOROUGHLY cleaned between each guest, leaving the space feeling fresh and inviting. Exposed rock wall opposite original outside wall; just a couple of the details that give this listing a unique and comfortable feel. Beautiful mountain views above with city lights below. This charming space is a short five minutes and $5 Uber ride from downtown Asheville yet feels worlds away.
Beautiful customized studio with wood slab bathroom vanity and office space, a unique rock wall and original outside wood wall. Creative touches throughout the space. Both charming and classy. Super clean and equipped with a shared laundry room and big bathroom. The kitchenette has everything you could need to feel at home when you're away from home, including a beautiful customized concrete countertop. It is equipped with a small refrigerator, hot plate, toaster oven, microwave and a coffee maker (coffee and creamer also provided). Netflix and Hulu streaming available via Roku and mounted flat screen TV. What else could you need?! :) Plenty of privacy with a separate entrance. Beautiful French doors let in lots of light and allow guests to enjoy the fresh air on nice days. Outside space with table and chairs for guests to relax the day away. Lots of space on this double lot on our small mountain leaves you feeling away from it all even though you're merely minutes from downtown. We are super convenient to grocery stores and tons of restaurants downtown. Porch swing and other outside seating. Beautiful fire pit area available for guest use. Suitable for two adults; children are welcome as well although the space is not child proof and I don't have separate sleeping arrangements. This space is one of two rentals on the lower level of my home. Each rental has a private entrance on either side of the house and my entrance is at the front of the house so privacy coming and going is not an issue. If this space does not fulfill your needs please check out my other Airbnb listing :) The apartments share a laundry room space but locked doors keep each space totally private. There is a perfect opportunity here to book both for larger families or couples traveling together. I will send instructions when it gets close to your reservation. Please read them carefully to be sure you choose the correct apartment upon arrival.
I like to think I live on Asheville's best kept secret! It's quiet, has beautiful views and is close to everything. Depending on which way you go down the mountain you are truly not far from wherever you're headed. You can be downtown in minutes to enjoy all the excitement Asheville has to offer and then retire home in the evening for a quiet peaceful night. You also have easy access to 240 to get to your next hike. I wouldn't want to call anywhere else home!
  • This place was perfect. Everything 2 adults and a small dog could want! Literally a mile from the heart of downtown yet somehow felt secluded. A perfect Asheville home away from home!

  • Excellent studio apartment! Clean, cute, comfy! Thanks Dorothy!

    Jamie2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first trip to Asheville and it was a great location to downtown and hiking! Coming up the road at night was a little scary just because it was so dark and the road was narrow, but once we got it figured out it was no trouble! The view was amazing, the bed was super comfy, and the chalkboard with all the suggestions was very helpful! Would definitely stay again!

    Olivia2018-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy's spot is cute and cozy, with everything you'd need for a weekend stay in Asheville. We'd come back here in a heartbeat!

  • Dorothy's place was great! It is so close to downtown. It was very clean and a good size for two people. The kitchen has everything you need for small quick meals and the laundry was a major plus as we were continuing on our travels. Check in and check out was simple. Asheville is an awesome town and I you want to be close to all attractions this place is a great option. We can't wait to return!

Come enjoy seclusion and mountain views in this sweet little cabin tucked back in the woods of our 125 acre private gated mountain top escape which backs up to Pisgah National Forest. Hike 150 yards down a flat gravel road to get to the cabin for a retreat from your normal day to day life. Although we still have cell phone coverage, we encourage you to disconnect and enjoy the mountain view, nature and solitude. Bring your dogs. Bring a book. Enjoy the simpler things.
This cabin is located on 125 acres of private land that is gated and backs up to Pisgah National Forest. It is 4 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway and to the top of Mount Pisgah. It is close to all of our favorite hiking spots and swimming holes on the Blue Ridge Parkway! An easy 25 minute drive to Asheville and all of it's amazing food and breweries. We moved this cabin from Abingdon, Virginia and reassembled with some major embelishments. The cabin is 100% off the grid: that means solar panels for limited electricity needs, propane heaters help keep the cabin cozy during the winter, and our seasonal outdoor shower uses a rain water collection system. Enjoy our 3 burner propane cook top for cooking, granite countertops, a sink with a water dispenser for drinking water, board games and a very comfortable queen size bed with nice bedding. The shower is heated and is fed by our rain water collection system. It is open seasonally...between April-October. We close the water lines to the shower during the winter months so our pipes don't freeze. There is a back up solar shower (5 gallon shower bag) that can be heated in the sun and used any time including during the winter months (mind you the shower is still outside!). The cabin has mountain views through the trees and is tucked back in the woods on a flat gravel road that you will have to walk on to get to the house. You will stop and park near the out house. We provide a wagon to help get your things to the cabin. The outhouse is about 150 yards from the cabin with floor to ceiling glass windows looking out through the tree tops...definitely the best view you have ever seen from an outhouse! The outhouse is cleaned out weekly on Mondays. Our Goal Zero solar generator provides limited electricity to run our solar lights inside the cabin. If it has been cloudy, expect to need to use lanterns for lights inside at night. The cabin is tucked in the trees during the summer and doesn't get a lot of sun (which is great since it stays cool inside during the summer!). During the winter, the space is heated with a propane heater and can stay pretty warm. If they are calling for below freezing temperatures, I would recommend bringing some extra blankets or sleeping bags. Bring some wood and make s'mores in our fire pit! Bring a cooler for your perishables since we do not have a fridge. We love all dogs of any size and welcome them to come on vacation with you! They will need to be left in crates if left indoors while you are out adventuring in town. We prefer they don't get on our furniture. Bring dog beds along for them. We are happy to be able to provide a dog friendly space since we too are dog owners and lovers....we just request you clean up after them, relocate their poops to the woods, and be sure to sweep up their extra dog hair before you leave.
Our mountain top escape is at the foot of Mount Pisgah and backs up to Pisgah National Forest. The roads are steep, but amazingly paved and engineered. This property was originally intended to be a housing development, but we have purchased it and put it into a Forestry Management Program with EcoForesters. Future plans include a trail system, and bath house. We have one other Airbnb on this property but they are very far away from each other.
  • We spent 5 days at Haley’s cabin, and it was amazing! The space is secluded and only a short drive to half a dozen great hikes. Haley has clearly put a lot of thought into making sure everyone’s needs are met, and we enjoyed the thoughtful details. (Games and books for quiet/rainy days, books to read, and extra seating for an outdoor meal) Our trip was a quiet and peaceful slice of heaven for us and our dog, Kima. Thank you again Haley! -David and Justine-

  • Haley’s place was my first ever Airbnb experience and it was amazing! Don’t hesitate on booking this cabin - her directions were on point, almost everything you need is provided, and the view is outstanding. Waking up to the view through the glass doors was our favorite part. The propane stove and heater worked perfectly and were much appreciated for being off the grid! We’ll definitely be back to check out her other cabin!

  • Pure bliss for 2 days! Far enough in the woods to experience the peace and quiet, but close enough to drive into town for Asheville’s great food and beer. I highly recommend.

  • If you are looking for a quiet mountain get away this is the place for you! We stayed warm and cozy with the little gas heater. This little cabin is nestled on the side of a mountain a bit outside of town. The view from the front porch was lovely!

  • I don’t have enough good things to say. This home truly is a tiny oasis tucked away from the world. The cabin was so clean and comfy and had everything we could need. And also the nicest outhouse you’ve ever seen! It’s also just a short drive outside of Asheville so if you start getting cabin fever you’re not too far from tons of delicious restaurants and fun bars.

  • This little cabin was perfect for a relaxing trip. The location is very secluded and private with beautiful scenery. The room was tidy and well supplied with necessities. Super comfy bed and amazing fire pit. Definitely would recommend this place for a solo stay or a couple just looking for a quiet retreat.

  • We loved it! Such a quaint, peaceful getaway. Close to town if you want to spend some time there, but also just a few miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway. When we needed something, Haley replied back quickly. Everything was really clean and it seemed like everything we could have needed was there, and then some... but it was nice and tidy. Simple, but perfect. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Breccia was great, her direction and communication made it easy to find her home and the studio had everything we needed for a great stay. Location is killer with easy access to all the best of Asheville.

I did not meet Arwen but I met her husband Trey. He was very welcoming. He gave us the low down on Asheville and recommended a number of breweries and outdoor activities we should check out. The house perfectly matched the description. It was spacious and gorgeous. Four of us fit in there comfortably. Oh and Bear and Matilda (the dogs) were very welcoming as well.

We loved stay in at Anna and marco's yurt! It is a very charming and relaxing place to recharge and connect with the world outside of social media. The yurt exceeded our expectations and was perfectly located to offer a better look at the country side just outside of Asheville as well being very close to some amazing hikes and gorgeous views! We will definitely keep the yurt in mind for future trips to the area!
