Spend a unforgettable holiday in the enchanting surroundings of the town of Cisternino (reachable from the near airports of Bari and Brindisi). Trullo Edera offers a heaven of peace and tranquillity, set in an elevated position with a stunning view. It's the perfect place if you like nature. You can stay under an olive tree reading a good book, you can have a walk in the small country streets or go to the nearest beaches. You can even easily visit any of the sights in Apulia such as the caves of Castellana, the trulli of Alberobello, the baroque cities of Lecce and Martina Franca, the excavations of Egnazia, the zoosafari of Fasano, Castel del Monte with Frederick's castle, Grottaglie famous for its ceramics, Taranto, Brindisi and Lecce museums. Prices vary on period and are to be considered included: in-outcoming cleanings, towels, sheets, water, gas, electricity.
  • Very lovely and close to some excellent places and restaurants - you must try the barbecuing butchers in Cisternino ( unless you are vegetarian or vegan in which case the pasta and sauce is outstanding . We were made to feel very welcome and the trullo is quite magical with good facilities - top Airbnb

  • Such an amazing place. Anna is the most welcoming and warm host and she went out of her way to make me feel special and cared for during my stay. The Trullo is simply beautiful and true to all the photos online. The Trullo is located in a rural area just outside of the gorgeous town of Cisternino. Anna even came to collect me from the local supermarket as it can be hard to find for the first time. It was a fantastic spot for walks and bike rides if you have a bike. You must have a car to enjoy the local region of Puglia. I have no hesitation in recommending Anna's Trullo, look no further! Thank you Anna :)

  • Trullo perfetto, host perfetto, soggiorno perfetto! Da raccomandare, e da ripetere :) Anna was a perfect host, the trullo very cozy, and our stay simply perfect! Highly recommended!

  • Anna was the reason I loved this trullo! we had a coffee and cake the last morning of my stay, where i got to meet her family and talk more about life in Puglia.

  • Il trullo e' ben arredato, pulito e spazioso.

  • We had a fantastic stay at the trullo for a long weekend. It was a unique and memorable experience. The house was cute, clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. It is located in the country so it is quiet and relaxing. A car is recommended to get there and explore all the little towns in the area. The host was very responsive to our questions and made sure that everything was going well. They even provided some fresh eggs, jam and honey that we enjoyed for breakfast. Overall we had a fabulous experience and would definitely recommend this home.

Escape civilization to this incredible and peaceful getaway! Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology on your own private deck surrounded by pristine and untouched nature just a short drive away from LA.
This is the personal Airstream of a nature-loving Malibu designer who built it as his personal getaway from his busy hectic schedule. Stripped down to its bare aluminum studs, the airstream has been redesigned into a large studio with three large frameless glass panels that slide open to a huge cantilevered deck with unrivaled views of the pristine Santa Monica mountains rolling down to the Pacific ocean below. Lounge in our luxury extra thick wool rugs and cotton poufs, drive down to surf one of Malibu's best breaks or go hike Sandstone Peak (Santa Monica's highest mountain). But whatever you do, make sure not to miss the incredible sunsets off our deck. At night, watch the milky way appear and count the constellations above or the moon reflect on the ocean below. And if the wind is right, listen to the sounds of the crashing waves travel up the canyon or even the seals barking down below. And then at dawn, if you're lucky with the morning fog, wake up above the clouds like you are the only person in this planet. VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT CLICK ON THE AIRBNB LINK FOR DIRECTIONS as it might take you to the wrong location. Only use the accurate directions provided on our itinerary. If you don't you might get lost and we are not responsible if you do not follow our easy and foolproof directions. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS LISTING if you are afraid of nature or its creatures. Understand you are surrounded by thousands of completely untouched nature. You are very likely to hear (or see) coyotes, owls, seals, roadrunners and bunnies. There is a bobcat in the area but these are usually very skittish. There are a mice in the Santa Monica mountains. About once a month, a guest will complain that they saw a mouse. Said mouse might come into the airstream if food is left outside the fridge. We do not offer refunds if a mouse comes into the airstream but we do have 4 traps around the airstream so the odds are heavily stacked against the mice. In three years we have yet to ever see a rattle snake near the airstream so the area is definitely not prone to them. This listing is weather dependent. If there is a high chance of rain scheduled during your stay we reserve the right to cancel the reservation due to potential slippery road conditions and the fact that we have to store all the expensive furniture inside the airstream. The beauty of this experience lies in seeing infinite views and yet no trace of humankind. Sleeping with the doors open, under the milky-way while hearing the ocean waves crashing below and the occasional seal barking in the distance or coyote howling for its pack. Our guests have the most special nights here. Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology :-)
Circle x ranch, county line beach, matador beach, zuma as well as many other hikes are all less than 10mn away.

  • Amazing place. Such a wonderful place. Incredible view, sunset, sunrise. Terrific trailer. And Christian, in spite of my late arrival has been really nice and helpful. I will keep this stay in my mind forever.

  • Absolutely perfect! What a majestic retreat up in the mountain! The little last 0.75 miles up the dirt road is a little intimidating if you are a city slicker, but definitely do-able and you'll conquer the fear fairly quickly. It is an airstream dream come true!

    Michell2017-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cassy is thoughtful and responsive. The space is breathtakingly incredible- one of, if not my favorite place I have ever stayed. Highly recommend staying in this airstream if you love scenic views and relaxing vacations. Can’t wait to come back! Thanks again, Cassy!

  • Just did a little staycation with my boyfriend here and this was by far one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed in! The airstream was absolutely perfect and the location is unreal- the best view of Malibu, the ocean, and all of the mountains. Could have stayed forever and will definitely be coming back! So beyond worth it!

Hideout is a unique eco stay for adventurous travelers hidden in mountains of Gunung Agung volcano - far from the city life. All-bamboo house is situated at beautiful riverside among rice fields. Get off the grid and experience authentic life of Balinese village. Check Instagram feed (@hideoutbali) for the announcement of new vacancies. Hideout Bali https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/5904771 Hideout Lightroom https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/18761574 Hideout Beehive https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24043648
This experience is not like any other, Hideout is not some fancy hotel, it is truly an adventurous experience, rustic and authentic right in the middle of Balinese village life. Hideout is a perfect place for long-time travelers, lovers of nature, a spiritual-minded people, trekking-lovers, backpackers, artists, musicians, and eco-enthusiast to have their own unique Bali experience. We are most happy with environmentally thinking guests, who treat this little bamboo home with love and care. We would like to share with you some of our guest's experience as quick PROs & CONs when you consider staying in this little Hideout. PROs - Solitude. The nearest village is 500 meters far. - Fully equipped kitchen. You are your own master chef. - Scooter for free. - Music. Stereo system, ukulele, drum! - Hideout is also a shelter for kittens, which is super cute and cuddly. You can also meet our friendly Hoki dog if we are in the garden with her. - You can experience authentic Balinese lifestyle, cultural habits and observe many wonderful things in nature. CONs - You can’t lock the bamboo house, there are no secure doors. But there is a safe box installed. - From time to time, villagers need to use the river for bathing (naked), washing clothes and performing ceremonies. - Hideout is part of local nature, our cleaning standards are at the highest, but that doesn't stop occasional insect, frog or mouse from visiting the house. Please consider this before booking. - Did you know that a spider can make a new web in under 1 hour? With our biggest efforts to keep the houses perfect and insect free, you have to expect that there will be some spiders, some bugs and some mosquitos. That is just nature and we can't do anything more for it. :) - The Internet is very poor and sometimes not working at all. We recommend being prepared for the off-the-grid experience. - There are cats and dogs living on the property and visiting Hideouts daily. They are all vaccinated and well behaved. Don´t book Hideouts, if you have an allergy or if you don´t want to be close to the animals. - We are not a hotel, we don't offer hotel services or 24/7 reception. We are true Airbnb experience. :) If you want a daily clean-up, please let us know when you check-in. Because the house is located near river and rice fields you will be in touch with nature. That's why is Hideout most suitable for guest which enjoy animals and are not afraid of a little bit of the wildlife. :) If you have any questions regarding living animals, please ask us in advance. The building has two floors, on the first floor, you can find a neat, fully equipped kitchen, cozy living/relaxing area (with extra hanging hammock), wardrobe with safety box, bathroom, and entrance to the outdoor shower. On the second floor, there is a spacious bedroom, providing king size bed with mosquito net (and extra bed 140cm - no mosquito net) all possible to accommodate up to 4 adults if needed. Right in front of the unique triangular window, there is large lounge bean bag for reading, cuddling and relaxing, the perfect place for meditation or playing a musical instrument, all with direct view to the shimmering river. Bamboo is well-known for its temperature stability, thanks to natural ventilation, there is no need for AC or a fan. There are no secure doors in the bamboo house, you can't really lock the house, don't be afraid though this is a very safe area. Recently we had an amazing time cooperating with SUKU Home. We are very grateful for this happy cooperation, thanks to the amazing collective behind SUKU Home products, our guests have the pleasure to experience their super smooth Bamboo beddings in Hideout. Ultra soft and delicate bedding made from 100% Bamboo Rayon, carefully & individually hand-dyed using a traditional batik technique. Hand sewn and made with love. Bamboo-derived rayon is softer than any high thread count cotton. They also have naturally antibacterial properties, making them great for anyone with sensitive skin. These sheets will keep you cool even in the hottest night. No AC required. :)
Hideout is in walking distance from a resort where you can have a lovely dinner in the restaurant with unforgettable view to Gunung Agung. You can easily reach many traditional small shops / warung. Beware that the nearest ATM is from a local bank, it only accepts Mastercard. International ATM is about 35 minutes by car away - do come prepared! There are so many things to explore around - by foot or by bike. Just to mention.. you can go trekking through the rice fields, you can climb Gunung Agung, visit Tirta Gangga, Ujung Temple, go snorkeling or diving, visit night market, visit shaman or local temples, go to experience Pura Besakih, have a wild day of rafting and many more.

  • The experience we've been offered to have at the Eco Bamboo Home was really of a kind, it's like arriving in paradise, the cottage is next to a river, it's the real deal if you want to relax and get close to nature in an authentic way. The housekeeper Wayan and his family were the greatest and they took such good care of us, his cooking is oustanding. I recommend everyone to order some dishes from the menu, Wayan will prepare them freshly in the house while you wait, the tastes are superb. If we would ever come back o Bali we'll surely visit Alena's Eco Bamboo Home again! She's a very good host and the communication and information she gave us were splendid. Keep up the good work.

  • Be careful, it's not for everybody... We fell in love with the house when we saw it on Airbnb, but once we were there we were completely disappointed. The house looks great on the outside but there are many things to improve inside, precisely in terms of cleanness: the amenities were missing, the toilet (when flushing) and the kitchen area were smelling really bad, also a puddle formed around the toilet when using it. The 'cherry on the cake' was the bed (not sure if the mattress, the linen or the mosquito net around it or all of them), whose smell made us leave after 2 hours spent in the house. The bamboo structure makes the walking on stairs challenging, so be careful when you want to use the toilet - which is downstairs - during the night. The nearby stream which is really close to the house makes a huge noise, so if you have a sensitive sleep then take this into consideration. Moreover, in the two hours we spent there we saw a bunch of local people washing in the (Website hidden by Airbnb) think twice if you want to bathe in there too.

  • We absolutely loved the village and this oasis built by such environmentally conscious couple. Wayan is a treasure, along with all the lovely local people who were so friendly it was fantastically refreshing. We took our time exploring the warungs and street side vendors of grilled specialties. Our favorite was a satay spot near the police station. Delicious! The massage by Wayan's sister was great too! And lastly, the river view and the adorable 3 month old kitten. I miss her.

    Adrienna2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Hideout was amazing! Most definitely the highlight of our trip. Wayan toke amazing care of us and the owner Elena was super helpful with arrangements and directions. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away from the busy side of Bali.

  • This place is truly amazing! Great food, people and location!!

    Amy2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Hideout was the most amazing place I have ever stayed. So much beauty to appreciate. We lay outside for hours at night looking at the stars, the river, the trees, the butterflies and the many fireflies. Wayan is one of the most good hearted people I have ever met, made us feel so welcome and the food was amazing. Hideout is beautiful and perfect for relaxation. Only wish we had stayed longer.

  • Wow! This is for real! This house is magical and a once in a lifetime experience! Go! And Andrew will make sure you are well taken care of along with the excellent staff.

  • A truly unique experience of staying in a house all made of bamboo. I would recommend a visit to the nearby Bamboo Factory to truly appreciate the bamboo house for the structural design, construction and materials used. The villa manager (Maggie) and the staff were very professional. Stay at Green Village is highly recommended if you are comfortable with a few bugs and bats invading your personal space.

    Sumeet2014-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Green Village is a stunning, unique place to stay - amazing views from within the house over the valley, and the house itself is spectacular and very comfortable. Fantastic to see a different side of Bali, well away from the crowds of the coast. If you get chance to stay here - do!

    Mark2015-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We thought this bamboo villa was too good to be true when we saw it on airbnb. Luckily Andrew was more willing to answer all our questions beforehand and assure us it was exactly as it looked in all the pictures! The villa is truly beautiful and its open aspect makes it a unique place to stay. We had expected there to be a lot of insects in the house which wasn’t the case at all! Sleeping with the sounds of the river and the crickets was amazing all the while being surrounded by modern comforts. Stunning surroundings, delicious breakfast, and the extremely helpful management of the Green Village itself made our stay one to remember. The management helped us find a rental moped with which we easily did our trips to Ubud (20min) and the surrounding areas. There are not many restaurants in the area but with the choice to have a cook make dinner for us in the evening we did not miss that at all. We highly recommend this place and hope to be able to come back to in the future.

    Denise2013-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the bamboo village was a very special experience. The house is truly incredible and spectacular, as is wandering the grounds and looking at the other homes. We had a fantastic experience at the green village and highly recommend it.

    Jenny2015-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in this amazing space is such an experience! It’s literally living in and with nature, so don’t be afraid of bugs and alike. We really enjoyed our stay with all the different sides that it had and would totally recommend it to anyone! Friendly staff and ok restaurant.

    Max2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We can nothing but repeat, what a lot of the other posts say: Bamboo House is absolutely amazing!! Better than any picture can say. We really loved our stay and didn't want to leave after two nights. The sounds of nature (river, bugs) can be quite loud at night, but we liked it. We enjoyed visiting the bamboo factory, another bamboo house across the river and the green school. Eva Nirvana is an extremely friendly and warm person, very easy to communicate with and her answers through email were fast. We would recommend the bamboo house to all nature and architecture lovers. Stay away, if the thought of a bat flying through your living room makes you shivering.

    Iria2014-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most unique property I've ever stayed in, Airbnb or hotel! We celebrated our anniversary there. I had the staff decorate the place with flowers which they did a lovely job of. We also had the refrigerator stocked and dinner served at the house. They arranged transportation to and from the Green Village and arranged for a masseuse for my wife. All of this was a bonus on top of the property itself. We chose to spend the day just hanging out there because it was so relaxing. Everything is made with bamboo with such creative craftsmanship. It's really just as impressive as the pictures suggest. Even though it is open to the air the bugs did not bother as much. Bring a headlamp so you can find your way around if you need to get up in the night!

Located in the coffee region, in the Andean mountains of Colombia, South America, a charming cabana made from bamboo, with a great view and a "sendero" or pathway through the bamboo forest which criss-crosses our 5 acre organic farm, leading down to a stream. A place to relax and commune with nature.
Surrounded by beautiful rainforest plants, strategically placed for privacy, with an outdoor shower in a garden. Commune with nature, listen to crickets and night and birds in the morning. Situated on a small organic farm. We grow tropical fruits and trees, flowers, with aloe vera as our main crop. There is an enchanting pathway through our bamboo forest, leading down to a mountain stream and a small waterfall. Near many coffee region tours and attractions, including our own organic farming workshops, visiting a nearby bee farm where our neighbor propagates bees in danger of extinction, local coffee tours, butterfly emporium, hang gliding, zip lining, white water rafting, horseback riding, hiking, visiting nearby historic towns and world heritage sites.
We are situated in the heart of the coffee region in the Andean mountains in Colombia. We are in "Vereda La Pradera" neighborhood, near the small town of "El Caimo", 20 minutes from Armenia and 20 minutes from the airport, by car. Close enough for comfort and easy access, far enough from the hustle of traffic and city noise that you can commune with nature. Sleep to the sound of the crickets and awaken to the sound of birds.

Muchas gracias y esperamos volver pronto.

This is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from making local coffee by drip in the morning, choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by over 100 Joshua Trees and a starry night sky.
Instagram: @thejoshuatreehouse (all photos tagged with #thejoshuatreehouse) This house is very close to downtown Joshua Tree with many shops and restaurants about a 10 minute walk from the house. This also means that some sound from the highway can be heard. If you're looking for a completely silent desert experience, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree Casita (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10614974). Please also check that listing if you can't find the dates you're looking for. Welcome to the Joshua Tree House! This hacienda was built in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) With over 100 Joshua Trees on the property, the views from the house are magical. If you're up for it, sunrise on the front porch is incredible. We estimate that some of the larger Joshua Trees on the property are as old as our country! *Mattresses and Bedding by Casper* There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families. We can also set up an extra memory foam mattress in the hammock room (has privacy with pocket sliding doors) to accommodate groups of six.
Joshua Tree is a small community made up of musicians, artists, and explorers. In the village you will find locally owned and run restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and vintage shops. There are many wonderful places to visit during your stay at the house including the Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriet's, the Integratron, Salvation Mountain, the Salton Sea, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum, Crossroads, BKB Ceramics, and la Copine (a delicious new french restaurant in the desert).
  • Great, easy communication and everything was perfect.

  • Where do I begin? From the first communication to checking out, our experience at the Joshua tree house was flawless. Every detail was thought of throughout the house, the finishes were beautiful and unique. Being familiar with the area is not necessary because the welcome booklet is so explanatory. Overall I would recommend this home to anyone looking to spend time in Joshua tree.

    Elizabeth2016-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful and being able to just relax out in the desert was ideal. Thanks so much!

  • The Joshua Tree House is a total dream. Everything is as described and there were even a few unexpected extras, like fresh coffee beans, plenty of towels (for hot tub and shower), and records and board games to play. The house was closer to town than expected, but that actually made it easy to run out and grab groceries or lunch as needed. It's also very close/accessible to the park, which is as special and unique as the house is. Sara and Rich were super communicative and helpful. Everything was great and I know our group is already planning our next visit!

    Kate2016-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and comfortable home. Very friendly hosts with attention to detail that made it a welcoming stay!

    Kevin2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia was a fantastic and welcoming host! My girlfriend and I stayed for three nights over Memorial Day weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The house is quiet and extremely clean and features a fireplace, plenty of porches for reading out of the sun, a great jacuzzi, and a nice kitchen. The location is a short drive from the park entrance and also conveniently close to restaurants, grocery stores, and the brilliantly odd Sky Village swap meet. Thanks, Cynthia!

    Russ2012-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Joshua Tree House was more than perfect! Sara and Rich's house is awesome, a perfect little get away! The house was filled with charm and personal touches that made you feel at home with a little boho/midcentury vibe!

  • My family and I were super excited to stay in this home after seeing what it looked like. The home was beautifully decorated and watching the sunrise and sunset from the porch was a great addition. It was very easy settling in and they send over instructions and suggestions that were very helpful. Overall, staying at this house was an awesome and relaxing time.

Appearing in numerous books on natural building, our cottage is a welcoming and cozy retreat hand sculpted of local, sustainable natural materials located on a lovely acreage with sheep, gardens and orchards.
Our neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. We are a ten minute walk from the beach and a twenty minute walk, in the other direction, to a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce, as well as galleries, a bookstore, and a spa.
  • The house is unbelievably charming, earthy and full light - storybook like really. There are good books on every shelf and lots of pillows and cozy blankets everywhere. The wood stove is cozy and quite easy to use - they even provide instructions! The shower is particularly good - nice and hot and very good flow. The hosts are charming and welcoming - providing us with eggs, fresh milk, banana bread, and a few other bits and bobs. The cob cottage has everything you need for a comfortable and quiet stay - a small fridge, cooking utensils, and a great farm grocery store down the road with deli items. Warning - they happen to have very fast internet so you may want to lock your laptops in the car if you want to leave it ALL behind! It is one of the most beautiful little cabins we have ever seen. We spent our honeymoon there and have come home refreshed and rejuvenated. After very lazy mornings, we spent the afternoons exploring the island on our bikes, taking a lovely kayak tour (recommended!) and hiking in every park on the map (there are several). We could even do our shopping on bikes as we just filled our pannier with food. We highly recommend it - and would have loved to stay longer.

  • I booked this cob house for my husband's birthday. He is an avid Lord of the Rings and Hobbit fan. I thought it would be a unique birthday present. I was not disappointed! Alexis was available for questions before we came. I called her several times and she was pleasant and helpful each time. We wanted it to be a relaxed getaway so we decided not to bring our car. Manny picked us up drove us and both ways. The cob house was incredible. The pictures don't do it justice. It is a little haven. It truly like staying in a little hobbit house. It was cozy and comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Alexis even left us fresh eggs, butter, milk and an awesome loaf of banana bread that was still warm. The bedroom upstairs is full of windows and you feel like you are in a treehouse. I spent many hours there reading. I am so happy we have found this little gem so close to home. We hope to visit it again when we need some r & r.

    Mary2016-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Alexis and Manny are fantastic hosts, and this is a lovely space. Would return in a heartbeat.

    Flora2014-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this amazing cob cottage! Alexis, Manny and the twins were so welcoming, friendly and helpful during our entire stay. We were welcomed with fresh eggs, milk and bread and were sent off with cookies! The cottage itself is beautiful and was a perfect place to spend our honeymoon. Mayne Island was friendly, beautiful, filled with interesting things to do and an incredibly unique experience. We will definitely be visiting again!

    Sarah2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • I rented Alexis's place as a gift to my daughter, who was newly married. She and her new husband just loved it, both the house itself and also Mayne Island. It was a perfect fit, and after hearing about it I think my wife and I won't be far behind!

    Philip2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a great time at this most lovely of Cob houses. The house and surrounding areas are really special. Visiting Mayne Island during the early part of the fall was great as it feels like you have the whole island to yourself. I'd love to come back here!

    Albert2017-10-01T00:00:00Z

    Janna2014-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • How better to spend a rainy, West Coast week-end than by sitting in the middle of a dream-like cob house, in front of an open firebox, reading a hand-drawn book (considerately left by the hosts) on how to build them, by hand? When a question arose, I would just look up, peer under, touch a surface, and notice such creative material responses! Thank you Manny and Alexis for keeping the Cobb Cottage so beautifully, and for letting visitors experience its sense of curvy possibilities and timelessness.

With a geodesic dome loft & a large deck in the trees, you'll feel like you're in a tree house in the woods. Since we book so far in advance, if you would like to stay here, check out our other listing, the Hummingbird Haven: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/6562632. We have been listing with airbnb since July '09 and have had the most reservations of any of their listings! But you've got to plan ahead if you want to stay here.
We have 10 acres next to land without fences so you will get to enjoy nature: just hang out on the deck, take a hike in the woods, watch the hummingbirds, pet the goats, go to the beach or gaze at the stars - as long as the moon isn't full. ; ) During the summer, if there isn't any nightly fog, we can see the Milky Way here. To check our availability, click on the "Request to Book" link. And yes, if it isn't available, it is already booked! If you want to stay here on a weekend, you will usually need to make your reservation request about 9-11 months in advance. (Please read all of this description before making a reservation request.) The cozy and clean semi-rustic cabin has a loft under a geodesic dome (the "mushroom cap"). In the loft is a Queen-sized super popular Casper Mattress which allows for very comfortable sleeping and just hanging out. We provide clean sheets and pillow cases. Plenty of blankets are also provided. The other "bed" is a couch that we can make up into a bed. If there are going to be 2 of you, but you want separate beds, please make the reservation for 3 or let me know ahead of time - there is a $10. charge for using it as a bed. In the loft, we have a 32" HD Flat Screen and a DVD player (no TV) for movies. (We have over 80 movies you can view as well.) On the main floor (a Pentagon) is the couch and a pull-out table. We provide a small refrigerator, a blender, Hot Air Popcorn Popper, French Coffee Press, an Electric Water Kettle, (ask about our other appliances) a salad spinner and dishes. Yes, we have a wine opener. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals, games, etc.: 1 inside and 1 outside on the large deck that faces the redwoods. We also have a barbecue grill on the deck with an extra gas burner on the side. We provide Organic Coffee, teas, Oatmeal, popcorn, butter, honey, sugar, nutritional yeast (for the popcorn!) spices, oil and vinegar and various snacks. Our well water is treated by an ozonator, a UV light and a soft water filter. If you have a baby and you won't be needing the second bed, make your reservation for 2 and let us know if you will need a small pad for the loft. Again, if there are 2 of you but you want to use the second bed, please make your reservation for 3. The cute bathroom has a Travertine shower, custom tiled sink and a Natures Head self-contained composting toilet. Some guests have had a problem with our bathroom, so I want to make it clear that we have a curtain for the door to the bathroom and we require that you put your used toilet paper in the trash. (it won't smell) If you follow the instructions for how to use the toilet, it won't have any odor. If the thought of using a composting toilet grosses you out, then don't make a reservation here. ; ) We provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair blow-dryer, etc. (a word of caution: the bathroom has a low ceiling. If you are over 6' you may have to do a little ducking here and there.) As Saturdays are very much in demand, (and we like to be free on Saturdays), we require a minimum 2 day stay on the weekends. Keep in mind that Friday and Saturday nights are $155. - $160. each. Therefore, to stay here on a weekend will cost $310. $360. plus the $35. cleaning fee, the $41 airbnb fee and the 11% Santa Cruz County Transient Tax of about $42. So for the weekend, it will be a total of at least $428. To stay for 1 day mid-week costs a grand total of about $200. On 3 day holidays, we require a 3 day reservation. (This includes Presidents Day, Memorial Day, M.L.King day, and Labor Day.) But to stay here on a weekend, you will usually have to book the cabin 6 - 8 months in advance - unless you are lucky to find a cancellation! Check-in time is between 4 and 10pm. If you want to come sooner or later, this can sometimes be arranged. Check-out time is noon. As we have experienced some damage from guests, we are now requiring a $100. security deposit. Although it feels very isolated here, we are less than 10 minutes to Aptos Village where you will find stores, restaurants, a health food store, Safeway, etc. We are centrally located on the Monterey Bay: 10 minutes from the beach (Rio Del Mar and Seacliff State Beach) as well as the 10,000 acre Nisene Marks State Park for miles of hiking or dirt biking in the Redwoods and along Aptos creek. We are 20 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz, 25 min. to the Beach Boardwalk, 45 minutes to Monterey and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, 50 min. to Carmel and 1 1/2 hours to Big Sur going south and San Francisco to the North. Yup, we are located in one of the most beautiful areas of California. (these times are not during rush hour(s) ; ) If you love hummingbirds, bring your camera. Our garden is the year-round home to many Anna Hummingbirds. (We usually have about 250-500 year-round) During the summer, we are also called home by many Rufus and Allen Hummers as well. So you have got to see our "Hummingbird Airport" where we feed them about 120 oz. of syrup on a summer day! Please, no smoking in the cabin or on the property. We used to let smokers stay here, but they stink up the cabin and it is a fire hazard outside. Some cell phones don't work here, but since we have free wifi in the cabin, if your phone works with a wifi network, you are good to call. You can sometimes get Verizon service on the swinging seat by the driveway. To learn about things to do in the area, do an internet search for Santa Cruz, CA. Dogs are welcome to stay here but with a few requirements: since we have so many animals, we require that your dogs be kept on a leash when outside (the goats get very nervous with large loose dogs). Also, we don't allow dogs in the loft or on the couch downstairs so please bring a doggie bed. (your doggie can go on the couch if you bring a cover for it) If that is difficult, let us know and we will provide a doggie pillow. We have a gate that we can set up so your dog can be off the leash on the deck. If you are bringing a small child, we can put a folding futon (2/3rds of the futon or a foam pad next to the bed ) Just let us know ahead of time. Keep in mind, though, that a child should not be left in the loft by themselves as the bed is fairly high up against the rail. As we are about 3 miles to the nearest bus stop, it is pretty difficult to stay here without a car. You are invited, if you feel you would be harmonious here. Pet the goats, check out our chickens, cats, miniature dog and enjoy the very fresh air. I might even teach you how to milk a goat. If you come here when there is no moonlight and the sky is clear, you will see lots of stars. Tired of the heat in the summer? Since we are on the edge of the "fog belt", it can be both sunny and cool here. If you want a noisy place, you won't like it here: most of the sound here comes from the birds or crickets chirping, the tree frogs croaking and the breeze blowing through the trees. People do live on the land here though, so don't expect it to be totally devoid of human sounds and the occasional chain saw. : ) (We feed the goats oak branches)
Even though we live only a 8 minute drive to Aptos village and the beaches, it feels very remote and private here. It is usually very quiet at night - sometimes we can hear the ocean waves crashing on the beach. There is lots of land to hike on and explore here as well. We have 11 people living here in a rather loose community.
  • Bear and I loved our stay in the 'Shroom cottage for my birthday! Kitty was super and even had a doggie gate for deck so Bear could sit out there off leash. I would recommend that all guests bring flash light or headlamp as the solar lights did not come on one night so it was essential for me to have my headlamp so I wouldn't slip or fall on stones down to cottage. Also to flip on the power I needed the head lamp but it was easy to find behind the pull out cart. Would highly recommend it for anyone wanting a cozy vacation. Tall guys may not like the loft but I'm only 5'1" so I loved it!! Andrea n Bear

  • We loved the privacy and uniqueness of the dome home, the adjacent grove of redwoods, the hike up the hill to the artist's grass hut, the use of the kitchen and deck, the cleanliness, the nearness to Nicene Marks State Park, the recommendation Michael gave us as to where to get a nice bottle of wine, the additional lively 'farm' feeling from having the goats and chickens on the property, having the opportunity to try fresh goats' milk.

    Kathy2012-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • would go there just for the fresh goat milk :)

    Armen2012-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in the mushroom dome. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere but is still close to town and the beach. Kitty and Michael were both very nice and wonderful hosts.

  • Coming here for our anniversary, my girlfriend and I had a wonderful time staying on Kitty's property. The mushroom dome is a cute, efficient abode, and the location gave us access to the best of coastal California. Kitty is incredibly generous and welcoming, treating us to her homemade goat's milk, cheese, and eggs. We'll definitely be stopping by next time we find ourselves in the area.

    Maxwell2013-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kitty is indeed a super host! I had a few hiccups with my reservation and stay, and Kitty was the most flexible, understanding, kindest host anyone can ask for. The cabin itself was AWESOME. Great stay. Great location. Great experience. Thank you so much!!

    Lorraine2014-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • The mushroom dome was a great experience. I loved our chats with Kitty and could have stayed up all night chatting away to Rory! A real pleasure to be around such nice company. Would recommend the mushroom dome highly.

    Harry2014-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • kitty was by far the greatest host we have yet to encounter. not only was she inspirational & left you with the feeling that you should move onto her property & call it home, but the mushroom dome was a once in a lifetime spot to stay. we sipped fresh goats milk, watched hundreds of hummingbirds, & were left in awe by the chickens & rooster. kitty has life figured out.

  • Simply. Amazing. Wow. Attention to detail made this one of the best places I have ever stayed. Looking at the pictures does not do this place any justice, one must experience it for themselves. Extremely comfortable and charming.

  • A picture perfect hobbit hole! Kristie provided perfectly clear instructions in advance for the stay. The hole is cleverly supplied with water and power, and the instructions make clear how to use them for a lovely stay. Kristie was very responsive and great to work with. A beautiful place in a beautiful part of Washington.

  • What a wonderful and comfortable adventure! My girlfriend and I came here for the weekend, read Tolkien, and ate a bunch of cheese plates in front of a fire. There is so much attention to detail here and we loved every discovery we had.

  • We went to the Hobbit Hole for our 2nd anniversary and it was better than we expected! The view during the day is amazing and the view at night with the full bed of stars was unbelievable! Kristie put so much detail into the place it was perfect! The drive up there was a little nerve racking but so worth it!! I would recommend this place to anyone! LOTR fans or not would love it so much! Perfect get away!!

  • My wife and i were absolutely blown away by our stay at the Tiny House. It was beautifully and accurately represented in the photographs, but to actually be there and experience how lovely it is was so great and even a pleasant surprise. The attention to detail, not just in creating a perfect Hobbit Hole, but in creating a high-end vacation rental was much appreciated. Excellent! We really hope to come back again.

    Paul2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the Hobbit Hole. I couldn't have asked for anything more!

    Bryn2017-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for three nights in this amazing getaway. It was so cozy and beautiful, a true hobbit hole! It had everything you could want, and no extra clutter. It is hard to describe how beautiful and well organized the home was, but the pictures barely do it justice. The view was spectacular and it was just a short drive down the hill to the best crepes we have ever tasted. In the mornings and evening we enjoyed hiking the beautiful mountainside, and in the evenings we curled up with a good book and a nice hot fire! Such a refreshing and wonderful place!

The Eden Valley is the quiet side of the county of Cumbria in North West England, naturally beautiful quiet & away from the crowds of the nearby national parks of the The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales . Its not remote , is very easy to get to but still feels well off the beaten track.
  • Staying in a beautiful castle in a scenic area of northern England? This place was truly incredible.

  • Really a fantastic place for weekends! You will never image living in a castle until you come to Augill Castle!

  • Wow, Wow Wow. Congratulations Simon & Wendy you have created a magical visit to bygone days without any pomp & ceremony which makes for a warm and relaxing atmosphere. It was a delight to stay at Augill Castle in the gorgeous Pendragon room. Beautifully furnished with period pieces but with all the modern conveniences in the lovely bathroom. Sadly I didn't have time for a soak in the deep bathtub. We joined some of the other guests for a 3 course dinner in the dining room. Each dish was delicious, beautiful presented and the meal was well priced. Breakfast was also very enjoyable. The family and other waitstaff were all friendly and helpful. We would have liked to stay longer and will certainly be recommending Augill Castle to everyone we know & to people we meet on our travels. 5 stars is not enough !!

  • Simon and Wendy were great hosts. The castle was amazing and the grounds were beautiful. It helped that we were the only guests in a massive place, but it could easily accommodate the 20+ people advertised and you would have trouble seeing everyone. Breakfast the next morning was tasty and filling. Thanks again!

The Off-grid itHouse brings together raw industrial aesthetics with the tactics of green design to forge a new home in the sunbaked wilds of the California high desert.
The Off-grid itHouse is an architecturally significant house, recently noted by Dwell as one of the 'Best Homes in America' and in the Los Angeles Times as one of the best houses of all time in Southern California. The Off-grid itHouse is one of 10 IT Houses built in California, which have received much acclaim such as the Western Home award sponsored by Sunset magazine. Also noted as one of the top 10 airbnb rentals worldwide. This is the prototype for the pre-engineered system known as the IT House. The house is 100% off-grid, powered by solar panels for energy and hot water, and is located in a pristine remote valley in the beautiful California high desert. The house observes key green principals of smaller footprint, minimal disturbance to the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, use of renewable resources, and living simply and minimally. The setting of the house is remote and serene, a quiet refuge from everything, free from distractions. Amazing views and vistas in all directions. Perfect for design or green aficionados, writers or those needing a secluded quiet getaway.
Located in Pioneertown, CA, nearby several unique attractions, Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy and Harriets Pioneertown Palace, local museums and art venues such as the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, the Integratron, and other seasonal events.
  • This was my first airbnb experience and it was amazing. Linda provided a manual with everything we needed to know regarding the house, the energy it used, the surroundings, and even how to handle the critters of the desert. It was definitely nice to be off the grid. The house is beautiful and it was such a comfortable stay. We loved how the moon shined so brightly at night. Waking up to see the sunrise was a sight to see as it traveled over the hill next door. You won't be disappointed. Loved every minute. Thanks Linda!

  • Awesome place. We spent 5 days enjoying the stunning desert view at daytime and the star filled sky at nighttime. The house is everything you could wish for at such a great location. Thank you for hosting us.

  • An amazing house. For anyone who loves design, wildlife, outdoors and/or green - this place has it all. Stayed for three nights. Due to the nature of the full glassed room - sleeping the first night felt 'exposed', but soon got used to it. You can spend hours (with a cold beer ;)) just staring out the windows during sunset. I was rewarded with a bobcat sighting from the living room on my last night. The house can be located via GPS. Since you are in the desert, expect to 'share' the house with some neighbors. My stay included beetles, lizard and ants. Although the drive into town is less then 15 mins - suggest getting provisions for the whole stay and just enjoy the house and its surroundings. [During my stay, there was a trailer parked on the hill that looked directly into the house - hence, was not as private as we wanted it to be]

  • Epic house! Like stepping onto another planet. We had a photo shoot there, it was spectacular. Everything was just as we hoped for. Great hostess!

  • A truly unique and special listing. Checkin is best done during the daytime as it can be a bit hard to figure out at night. If you need to sleepin, best to bring an eye mask as the sun shines bright inside. Overall, one of the coolest Airbnb experiences we’ve had. Book early!

  • The iT house was amazing. Definitely has me thinking about where and how I want to live the rest of my life. Linda was very prompt with replies and provided every piece of info via the (very cute) hand drawn map and manual. Really could not recommend it enough.

  • The place was fantastic and we loved it. A few tips: 1. Bring firewood 2. Bring water 3. Bring warm clothes in the winter 4. Check out Pappy & Hariets 5. Go to Joshua Tree for some awesome hiking

  • What an experience! A true understanding of the living space. Completely immersed and exposed while still private and comfortable. Great details! Will be back.

  • If you would to go Akureyri, you have to look for Inga. She's been a really good host. I couldn't make it to the first day because I was stuck on the road due to heavy snow. Inga keep calling and texted me to let me know that it was heavy snow and the road might possibly be bad. We reach there on the second day of our trip, you can see beautiful scenery as it located opposite the city. Unfortunately we only stay there for a night.

    Mun Hong2015-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very enjoyable stay from one of the nicest viewpoint on Akureyri. Inga was a perfect host and she even made sure to leave fresh ground coffee for our stay. The accommodation is very modern and has a beautiful terrace to use on sunny days. Thank you Inga!

  • Easy check in and incredible view! We loved drinking wine looking out over the water and town after a day of exploring the area. Nice touches with crayons for kids and a high chair. Not as isolated as it looks in the photos, but still beautiful. Thanks Petur!

casaBARTHEL is a perfect place for a vacation and an artist residency, immersed in the Tuscan landscape only twenty minutes’ from the Duomo and one hour from Siena. Come and live with us: enjoy our olive trees, the kitchen garden, the tennis court and the small swimming pool. The TREEhouse is a romantic room immersed in the pine trees with fire place for the winter and AC for the summer. It offers a bedroom with a queen size bed, a small kitchenette with stove and fridge; a bathroom with shower, and a private outdoor terrace. And a fantastic view towards the Tuscan landscape! And if you want to see and know more about our passion for the interior design, the arts and crafts, and antiques you should come visit our design and make shop ‘Riccardo Barthel’ in Via dei Serragli n. 234 r, in the Santo Spirito district of Florence! At the beginning of the 1980 our family moved into the ‘Poggio Secco’ (Dry Hill) farmhouse, just outside Florence city center, in front of the Certosa dell’Ema. The compound had a big stone villa surrounded by olive trees, a compost hub, a pigeon house, a barn, a tall cypress tree and an old German shepherd dog. Everything in the farm was placed around a large terracotta courtyard, a sort of public square. Thirty years later the ‘Dry Hill’ is still our home and a small community that includes my mum Daniela, aunt and uncle Sandra and Nanni, me, my daughter Cristina and my husband Andrew. We all live here sharing the same love for the countryside, its olive oil, good food and the family lifestyle! The rent includes the use of the communal swimming pool and the tennis court; the dining porch with the BBQ and the wooden oven; dryer and washer; table tennis and football table, plus a car parking inside the property. We are glad to interact with our guests; you will be part of our large family! Galluzzo is a nice small village with everything you need:crocery stores and a nice farmers market open every day. The certosa monastery is a must. Le Corbusier was there to learn! There are public busses in Galluzzo to go to the city center and to go to Siena. But to get to our house and to enjoy the surrounding you should come by car!

  • I saved Casa Barthel to my Airbnb wish list years ago. Staying here was a dream fulfilled. I didn’t want to leave. Elena provided a stellar experience throughout my stay. The entire property is breathtaking, as well as the surrounding area. I had a relaxing solo swim under the Tuscan sun and restful sleep in the tree house itself. Eating strawberry tasting grapes growing outside of Elena’s studio was such a treat. Recommend taking a taxi (approx 26-28 € one-way from the city center of Florence). Also, taking Elena’s 3-hour printmaking workshop (90 €) was definitely a highlight. After the prints dried, she neatly wrapped the pieces for me to carry home as souvenirs. Thank you for such a magical time.

  • The Treehouse is a magnificent place to stay in the Florence area. Elena and the Barthel family have a wonderful property, with the most amazing vistas of Florence and the surrounding countryside. If you're a couple that loves the idea of a treehouse, then there is simply no other place to stay in Florence! We liked it so much that we got engaged while staying there.. says it all really.

    Martin2014-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The tree house and the garden are such masterpieces. Elena and her friend are welcoming and nice. The view from the tree house is awesome. Delicious breakfast is delivered to the house in the morning, the coffee in the kitchen is also great. The location is convenient and not difficult to find following the direction. It's a great experience to stay in the place.

  • CasaBarthel and the treehouse were a dream come true. If you get the chance to stay here, don't even think about the money...just pay it and go! It was worth every penny and probably even more. We were treated like royalty and the staff is absolutely amazing. We stayed here 3 of our 5 nights in Florence, and are angry we didn't stay all 5. The night we arrived, we had one of the home cooked meals from Daniella and it was the most incredible thing we've eaten our entire trip through Italy. Waking up/going to sleep in the treehouse with the incredible views was like living in a fantasy. This place was without a doubt our favorite place throughout all of Italy. When you think of Italy, CasaBarthel is exactly what you would picture, and so much more. THANK YOU CasaBarthel!

Charming and romantic,' Round' Cottage on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Formerly, the cottage was sculptor Henry Hudson Kitson's summer studio on the Santarella Estate. The two-story cottage has a charming bedroom with 35 foot high conical ceiling with canopied bed upstairs with views through massive, multi-paned "mill windows" to the trees and sky and out to the lily pond. The downstairs sitting room looks out on the babbling brook and lovely gardens.
Now open year-round! Charming, One Bedroom Cottage, former sculpting studio on the Santarella Estate in Tyringham, MA. Known as the "Silo Studio" Cottage. There is a bedroom with canopied queen bed upstairs and a sitting room with window bench-seat, coffee table, table and chairs, kitchenette area with wet bar with Micro/Fridge coffeemaker, toaster and bathroom with shower are downstairs. Fall asleep to sounds of the babbling brook and views to pond and forest from the large screened openings upstairs, like living in a "tree-house". Accommodates two only, fully furnished, all linens, towels included. There is Satellite DTV and Wireless Internet on site. The cottage is situated on four acres including lovely gardens, beautiful lily pond, running brooks and 2 acre woods. Absolutely unique, one-of-a-kind experience! Please Note, the cottage has traditionally been a three season rental from approximately March- November, however, due to much interest and demand, we have recently added a larger capacity pellet stove and made winterizing efforts and plan on keeping it open for guests interested in a winter experience in the cottage! Please keep in mind that access to our grounds may be limited with the accumulation of snow in winter months. During predicted extreme weather events, we will gladly work with guests to change reservations as we are always concerned for their comfort! Our lovely grounds are open to our guests. There are garden paths, babbling brook with stone bridges, loveliest of lily ponds, stone bench seating area with 'chiminea' and firewood for guest's use. There are two acres of woods with a loop trail as well. The town has an exceptionally beautiful Swimming Pond about 2 miles away which our guests may use. There are BBQs and picnic tables and it is often deserted. While we do have a pet friendly policy, prior approval and acceptance of our rules and policies is required before a pet may stay with you in our accommodations. There is also a $25.00 additional pet cleaning charge. The cottage is located on the Santarella Estate surrounded by gardens and storybook architecture. Santarella is located in the Tyringham Valley, tucked away 3.5 miles from Mass. I-90, a lovely and magical place where one feels like they have stepped back in time. This is definitely a place to 'get away from it all', enjoy quiet, rural surroundings close to the Appalachian Trail and Tyringham Cobble for hiking and many lovely ponds for swimming or kayaking. Vehicle is necessary. Grocery and other shopping at 3.5 miles.
Tyringham Valley was one of the original settlements in Western Massachusetts. It is mostly agricultural conserved land giving it a very rural, bucolic and idyllic character. The lovely 'Hop Brook' runs through the middle of the valley which is sparsely populated with mostly historic homes, making one feel like they have stepped back in time. An original, beautifully preserved Shaker settlement sits on top of the hillside opposite Santarella, overlooking it. At the far end of the valley, the gracious columns of the burned Ashintully mansion overlook the entire valley and are all that remain of the gilded-age estate which has beautiful preserved formal gardens, great to visit and hike. The Appalachian Trail is 2.25 miles from the cottage.
  • The Silo Studio was the perfect little getaway for these 2 busy Bostonians (and our dog!) Denise was extremely welcoming and gave great instructions. She welcomed us with a smile and a bottle of sparkling cider. The silo is as cute and comfy as advertised. We got groceries from the supermarket down the street so we really didn't need to go anywhere. We enjoyed long walks in the mornings and afternoons. And granola parfaits & coffee in between. The studio is quiet and cozy and just what we needed. My friends were jealous of this unique little space we found. Such a little hidden treasure.

  • Such a wonderful experience!! We arrived to such a cozy atmosphere with the fire going, champagne in the fridge and music playing softly upstairs in the bedroom- this place is like a fairytale. Highly recommended for couples looking for a relaxing, romantic getaway. It was awesome, and exceeded my expectations!! Denise also sent me so many recommendations for activities in the area, which was so helpful and appreciated!! I hope to visit again sometime!

  • Denise was lovely and the silo and surrounding areas were just perfect. Everything was as described in the listing. Would love to return. Recommended!

  • A little Lilliputian lullaby of a place done in "storybook" architecture and a delight to behold. Denise was lovely, the gardens Englishy, the whole place a step into the pages of a child's tale. On a bucolic country byway, away from the madding crowds. Actually, in the Berkshires there is hardly a crowd. Close to gorgeous Tanglewood, where you can picnic while listening to the Boston Symphony practice, all the charming towns, museums, The Red Lion Inn, and too many wonderful things to list. Truly, a special place.

  • The "Silo Studio" was the perfect getaway for our anniversary trip--serene, lush, comfortable. Denise was a gracious host and went above and beyond to make our stay as perfect as possible. We felt instantly at home thanks to Denise's warm welcome and were able to make the most of our short time in at the estate. (Hopefully we can stay longer next time.) Thank you for everything!

    Erin2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place in a great location to explore the Berkshires.

    Brian2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the silo studio was a wonderful experience. It's like taking a step into a storybook. The giant windows in the bedroom are absolutely amazing, you can actually stargaze from the bed on a clear night. The view onto the property is also beautiful and very peaceful. The property itself is very well maintained. Denise and Dennis were wonderful and caring hosts with great attention to detail. We hope to be back for a stay at the silo studio!

  • Our stay in the Old Smock Windmill was incredible! The mill itself is just a stunning, well considered piece of renovation work and a lovely peaceful space to relax in. Coupled with a lovely host who gave us a warm welcome on arrival, some good local knowledge, and most importantly some amazing fresh eggs ad home-made bread - this is just an AWESOME AirBnB spot.

    Benjamin2014-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • After seeing the photos of the windmill, we knew we wanted to visit. It's even lovelier than the photos, a really special place to stay. We went on day trips but were always keen to return to the windmill and just relax. Thanks to Clare for a wonderful stay and for providing welcome treats!

    Richard2015-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Dear Clare, What a lovely time we had, the experience staying at the Mill and every suggestion you gave us was just amazing, we thought we have stayed in special places but We think this is just a new level :). Thanks for your kindness and perfect attention to details - we hope to come back to visit you again. Warm regards, Paula&Pedro Ps. The Chapel Down winery was great as you said

    Paula2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • You're interested enough in the windmill to read the reviews, so here is my advice: book now. Go for as many nights as you can afford. Book, now!

    Chris2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn't of asked for a better city break. Clare greeted us and showed us around the windmill, telling us about it's history and all the ways in which it was renovated. We were spoiled with freshly made bread, tomatoes, grapes and eggs from her very own Mr and Mrs Duck. Everything was as described if not better. Clare was a wonderfully kind host who was always quick to respond if there was an inquiry such as how to get to the nearest pub. We cannot wait to go back.

    Naomi2016-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best things that we forgot to thank Clare for was the homemade bread! It was truly exquiste but we were fearful of being presumptuous in asking for more. The windmill and entire neighbourhood is truly beautiful, with some glorious sights to be discovered. You will not regret coming here.

    Syrus2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • The windmill is a lovely place to stay. Beautifully restored and stylishly decorated. We had a great weekend, and Clare was a friendly, welcoming host.

    Jonathan2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Clare is an amazing host and the Old Smock Mill is a wonderful place to stay. Clare was quick to respond to all communications and was very helpful and friendly. The property is exactly as photographed; beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, airy, cosy, comfy, and full of wonderful little features (it takes the two nights to find them all!). We were welcomed with stunning flowers, fresh eggs, apple juice, bread, tomatoes, and raspberries, which were all wonderful. We met Clare's husband and mother during our stay and we were made to feel very welcome. We had a birthday tea party whilst we were there, as Clare was kind enough to allow us some family over for a day trip, and it made my birthday very special. We would recommend the mill to anyone who would like to stay in the area. There are fresh towels, robes, soap, and a hairdryer, which is all very much appreciated. There are also sun loungers and chairs. There is also a TV and DVD player, with some DVDs to watch, as well as some books available to borrow. There is a fridge, an oven, washing machine, and dishwasher. The kitchen is fully equipped with pans, cutlery, plates, etc.

Red cinder leads you through the dense jungle to your secluded bamboo treehouse. Nestled on top of stilts 15' up in the canopy of the local flora, ascend to your retreat via the trapdoor or begin your adventure in Volcano National Park 10 miles away.
Upon arrival, let the red cinder path be your yellow brick road as you are lead through the jungle to your personal paradise. At ground level you will encounter a hanging bed, suspended beneath the floor of your new living quarters. Stop and relax or continue up the staircase to the trapdoor. It is through this trapdoor that you are allowed access to the lanai amongst the canopy of trees. A beautiful wrap around lanai allows for a 360 degree view of the lush jungle, while two sliding glass doors grant access to the bedroom. Upon entering, you will notice that the generous windows and doors allow for natural sunlight to flood into the house, complementing the bamboo fixtures and vintage 1970s wallpaper that backs the bed. The white bed linens reflect the light giving a dreamy, cloud-like aura to the space. There is counter stocked with a local coffee and snacks nestled into a corner of the house and overlooked by the handcrafted porthole windows. Bamboo backed cubby holes and hangers furnish the wall behind you and create an elegant, minimalist closet space for you to store your personal items for the duration of your stay. Just past the closet is a sliding door that accesses one of the most fun areas of the house: the bathroom. The bathroom jalousie windows stretch from the floor to the ceiling and the horizontal glass plates open up, creating an indoor-outdoor effect. Naturally caught rainwater cascades from the large shower head above before disappearing into the floor boards below. You'll notice that the natural theme spills over into the bathroom with sustainable cork board backing the shower and air plants intermittently growing throughout. The toilet and hand-made rock sink in the corner make use of grey water eco-principles by allowing you to wash your hands with fresh water before it goes on to fill the bowl. One of the most fun aspects of this property is that it allows you the opportunity to experience true off-grid living without sacrificing any of the comforts of normal life. Natural lighting, solar power and rain water catchment are the three principles that have been integrated into this tree top design, making it almost like a living organism itself. The beauty of this high flying haven is in the details. I spent the better part of three months personally constructing the building as well as the accessories inside. My goal was to create a customized and secluded space for your occasion. The chandelier, hanging lights, port-hole windows, rock sink and platform bed were all DIY projects that I specifically created to enhance your experience. The bamboo pillars that 'support' the lanai and the moss carpet under the hanging bed were harvested from local areas on the Big Island. IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE MAKING A RESERVATION Don't worry, the capital letters are just to emphasize importance. I'm not mad at you. But please read this entire section before making a reservation. As lush and inviting as the Dreamy Tropical Treehouse is, there are inevitable 'challenges' that come with staying in an off-grid treehouse in the Hawaiian jungle. My goal is to give you an experience that combines adventure and luxury so I want to make sure that you are aware of the following things: 1. The treehouse is about 15-feet off the ground and is only accessible by the 'ladder-stairs'. 'Ladder-stairs' is just another way of saying 'very steep' stairs. There is a hand railing and none of my visitors have ever had a problem going up and down. There is a pulley system for hoisting up your bags. Only those who believe they are physically capable should book a stay. Just remember to go up and down the stairs facing them... like a ladder! 2. The running water comes from the rain falling on the roof and is not treated; therefore, the water is not potable. I will provide several bottles of drinking water. 3. The electricity you use is generated by sunlight and is stored in a battery. Once the battery runs out of power it has to recharge. This shouldn’t happen but just be mindful not to leave lights or power hungry items running for extended periods of time (No hairdryers). The windows allow for plenty of light during the day. 4. This is the rainy side of the Big Island so expect some showers! Realize that the pitter-patter on the roof is the rain's first stop on its journey to the water tanks and then to your shower. Also notice how warm it is. Don't think of rain as a trip ruiner but instead an asset to be enjoyed! 5. There are bugs but this isn't the Amazon. For such a tropical climate you will be surprised at how few bugs there are. The main things you will see are moths, fruit flies (due to fruit falling off of the trees) and mosquitoes. Bug repellent is provided but it never hurts to bring your own. They really don't get that bad but their presence increases after a hard rain and during the twilight hours. Luckily, the hanging bed has mosquito netting that drapes down to encompass it. 6. Noises. Living off-grid in the jungle also brings about its own set of noises. The water pump and solar inverter will make soft noises throughout the day as they are used. The falling fruit from the vivie trees can also be alarming if you don't know what it is, and at night you are going to be serenaded by the sweet chirping of coqui frogs. Rustling branches, grunts and squeals typically means that the cute family of wild pigs is nearby. They are harmless and will runoff as soon as they sense your presence. Quietly grab the binoculars and, if you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of them! All of these aspects are what makes this place so unique and, with the right mindset, they’ll only enhance your overall experience. Guests have free range to fully utilize every aspect of the house. The hanging bed, wrap-around porch, indoor-outdoor shower and closet are at your full disposal. I have recently installed a kitchenette that has a sink, cooler for storing food/drinks, and a coffee maker (also capable of heating up water). Any and all goodies stocked in the house are there for your enjoyment. Here is a more comprehensive list of amenities and features that will be available to you: •Indoor/Outdoor Shower •Toilet with Overlaid Sink •Organic Shampoo/Conditioner •Towels •Ample Parking •Tiki Torch ‘Flashlights’ •Hanging Bed •Table and Chairs for Lanai •Binoculars •Several Books •Outlets (3-prong and USB) •Kitchen Sink •Coffee Maker •Clean Linens •Gramophone Music Player for iPhones •Cooler for Food/Drink •Card Game Guest interaction can be tailored to your needs. My goal is to make sure your stay is unforgettable so you can always contact me via phone or email. Because I do not live on the island year round, a local neighbor can assist you if you have any problems that need tending to. Upon your arrival I can arrange to have someone greet you and show you the property or simply stow away the key for your convenience. The choice, of course, is yours. Even though I am not on site, I can always be reached. Feel free to call/text/email me at any time during your stay should the unlikely event that a problem arises. I will immediately contact the proper authority to have the problem remedied. The treehouse is located at the end of a neighborhood street making it very private. It is set about 50 yards off the street behind a windy, jungle path further adding to your privacy. There are only about five full time neighbors scattered throughout the neighborhood so don't expect to see a lot of people. The treehouse is about 20 miles from Hilo, 23 miles from Pahoa, 12 miles from Keaau and 8 miles from Volcano. Volcano is the closest place for laundry, good restaurants and groceries, though you will pay a little more for the groceries than in Hilo or Keaau. I recommend you stop on your way in from Hilo. When you book I will include a guidebook that has the locations, hours and prices of local restaurants and grocery stores. There is quick access to highway 11 and it is 10 miles from Volcanoes National Park. Numerous opportunities for sightseeing and adventures are within a 40 minute drive of this treehouse paradise and they will be included in my guest guidebook as well. This is the ultimate spot for couples seeking romantic seclusion in the middle of a tropical jungle or individuals who want to escape the world. Unless you feel like hitchhiking, you will definitely need a rental car with high ground clearance to comfortably explore the surrounding areas and access the treehouse. While nothing is 'far' on the big island, everything is just a bit out of reach by foot... except of course for those lovely, yet dense, jungle strolls.

  • Loved our stay in the dreamy tropical tree house! Kristie's travel guide was so helpful and helped us feel like real local explorers. Tree house was very cozy and the perfect honeymoon spot for us! Definitely hit up the snorkel spot she suggests (bring water shoes) it was incredible!

    Caleb2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • A very unique experience. Kristie and Ginger were very responsive to our requests as well as provided a lot of information to make our stay great! The treehouse was well built and offered a memorable stay. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the jungle sounds at night. The shower was really neat with the glass walls creating the feeling of being outdoors. Also, the location was great if you are exploring the volcanos national park. I would definitely recommend you stay here.

  • My stay at Kristie's treehouse was amazing. When I got there I was surprised by how isolated the treehouse was, which was exactly was I wanted. Once inside the treehouse was incredibly neat and wonderful. It was like camping at a 5 star hotel with a view of your personal jungle. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to anybody visiting the big island

  • My girlfriend and I stayed at the treehouse for Valentine's day and it was the perfect place to stay. I will highly recommend the treehouse to anyone and everyone. Thank you Kristie

  • Kristie’s treehouse was the highlight of our trip to the Big Island! All the extra special little touches made it more magical than expected. Renting an SUV is absolutely recommended since the road leading to the treehouse is very rugged. The house itself is decorated beautifully and very clean. The bed is extremely comfortable and the blankets kept us warm on cooler nights. The rain shower felt amazing after our evening lava hike. If you book a stay in Kristie’s treehouse you will not regret it!

    Jennifer2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The bed is so comfortable you will have the best sleep of your trip! So many unique details in the place!

  • The tree house was amazing! Really quiet and peaceful during the day, a little louder at night with the coqui frogs. But they didn't bother us too much! Also got to see some stars at night. Hope to come back again soon.

    Alyssa2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the tree house! Everything was comfortable, beautiful, cozy, clean, and completely unique. Plus, the location was perfect for exploring the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and surrounding black sand beaches. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!! Perfect for our honeymoon!

Volvería a ir!

*This cabin was featured in the New York Times in January, 2017. * A magical homesteader cabin embedded in 5 acres of unfenced Joshua Tree desert wilderness, 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. Experience peace, quiet, wildlife and STARS—on the grid but off the pavement.
If this cabin is booked on your dates, check out our other two cabins nearby ("Homestead Camp Cabin in Joshua Tree" and "Midcentury Prefab Homesteader Cabin") *** If you would like to use our cabin as a shooting location please get in touch to discuss our rates, otherwise we do not allow commercial or professional shooting of any kind (photo, video, film) during your stay. Thank you in advance! *** The restored cabin, which has been featured in the New York Times 'T' travel magazine, Wilder Quarterly, The Weekender and the book 'Jackrabbit Homestead,' was constructed in 1955 and still has its original green paint. Joshua Tree National Park is a 15 minute drive from the cabin. The Integratron and Giant Rock are also 15 minutes away. The cabin is less than two miles from artist Noah Purifoy's famous sculpture garden site. Two miles in the other direction is Dhamma Dena, teacher Ruth Denison's Vipassana Buddhist center. The always swinging Pappy & Harriet's BBQ and music roadhouse in beautiful Pioneertown is a 30-minute drive. The Lou Harrison House, which hosts occasional devotional, folk and avant garde music events in an intimate setting is less than 10 minutes away. We will be happy to give you directions to each of these unique places (and many others) that we frequent ourselves. The cabin sits on 5 acres, and feels remote, but it's just 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. You will travel a few miles on a secure, hard dirt road to get here. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic sunset and sunrise—as well as a blanket of stars. In the wintertime, you can build a fire too. Sleep comfortably in a queen-sized bed. The renovated interior has a cookware-outfitted kitchen and dining area. There is an outhouse with a dry toilet and roofless shower a few yards from the cabin. Wireless internet is available if you require a connection to the digital world. The cabin is equipped with air conditioning. The cabin is located next to BLM land and a wildlife corridor, which means you will witness these wild animals in their native habitat. The cottontail rabbits, cactus wrens, lizards, desert tortoises, jackrabbits, coyotes, owls and roadrunners (and more!) that make the desert their home make a visit to this serene cabin all the more special. Guests may have freshly prepared organic juices made by local juice cleanse guru Angela de la Agua delivered to the cabin. A menu/pricelist is available upon request. Please note that we have a TW0-NIGHT MINIMUM stay, and a THREE-NIGHT MINIMUM FOR HOLIDAY WEEKENDS. This requirement allows us to keep our rates low, so that the greatest number of folks get a chance to experience being here in the unfenced desert, under the Milky Way. We donate 2.5% of our proceeds to the Mojave Desert Land Trust, an excellent local non-profit organization devoted to protecting the Mojave Desert ecosystem and its scenic and cultural resource values.
  • Highlights: - Outdoors pebble-floored shower. A cool outdoor shower feels GREAT after a long day of hiking at JTNP. - Hammock on the porch. Do yourself a favor and take a nap outdoors at night. The sweet, sweet breeze feels amazing and it's so calm and quiet. - Critters. We saw plenty of desert hares and a roadrunner slept in our bathroom calmly the entire night. The roadrunner seriously never flinched as we went in and out of the restroom). - Sunrise and sunset are beautiful from the porch (which has plenty of chairs to sit on). Overall, great experience. Jay was a great host. He was informative, kind, and very welcoming.

  • This place rocked my world. It was so comfortable and peaceful. Also well situated (close enough to the center of town, but far enough away).

    Caroline2015-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my girlfriend spent a night at Jay and Stephanie's cabin and had an amazing time. We were looking for a peaceful retreat and Jay's cabin was perfect. The cabin has everything you need. And the outdoor shower was actually really fun to use (and even had hot water!) The entire area is extremely quiet like the other guests have mentioned. At night, it's great to sit out on the patio and look at the stars. Jay was great and fast to respond to emails. He was really hospitable and graciously showed us around the cabin and all the surrounding amenities. We would have no hesitation to take another trip out! If you're looking for a serene and relaxing place to get away from the city, this is the perfect place.

    Mariel2012-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie and Jay's homesteader cabin is really amazing. Simple, convenient, beautiful. It's far enough off the beaten path to feel isolated, but you are really only 10-15 minutes from the park and everything else. Highly recommend!

I expect that you will dine outside most of the time, but if the weather turns, or you fancy a change, the intimate dining room will delight you. The living room provides ample space for everyone to relax. Enjoy the sound system - Bose iPod docking station and CD player - or watch a film on the Tv. A wood burning stove will warm the spirits in the cooler months. The bedrooms: there are one double bedroom and one can be configured as double or twins. They all have their own shower room and bathroom. Two miles away, in a small town called Casalini you can find everything you might need (delicatessen, supermarket, wine cellar, bar, newsagent, butcher, post office) Puglia and Trullo aromatic green will delight you throughout the year. Each season brings its own climate, festivals and produce. In April the days are warm, but Puglia is still quiet. So you would have a great time to explore the surrounding towns, markets and scenery. There are many festival processions over Easter. On May soft fruits such as cherries, mulberries and fiorone (early figs) are in abundance, markets are full of spring vegetables and the fields are full of wild flowers. This is a fantastic season. On June enjoy the countryside and the beaches before the crowds arrive. Days are pleasantly warm, and the nights clear. On July the real start of summer. Enjoy a day on the beach l, followed by a summer festa or concert. Famous classical concerts in nearby Martina Franca run from mid July to mid August. Finally on August explore the beaches and get plenty of rest during the day to ensure you are full of energy for the many festivals that take place throughout the region during summer. On September as the blazing heat of high summer subsides, enjoy pleasant days and some spill-over festivals such as the Jazz festival in Lecce, or buskers in Martina Franca. Places to Go Puglia offers a wealth of diversions; two coast lines, a vast number of hill towns each with their own characteristics, and always beautiful, rugged scenery with knarled olive trees, spring flowers, red soil and acres of vineyards. There will be plenty of information available to you on arrival (or booking, if you prefer) including recommendations and directions for your days out. Local Hill Towns Ceglie Messapica is just 10 kilometres from trulo aromatic green i, and provides all the amenties that you may need, including an attractive old town for your evening promenade. It is famed for its restaurants, including "Ricci's" - which has the accolade of being Antonio Carluccio's favourite restaurant in Southern Italy. The town has many facilities, and the market on Saturday morning provides everything you can imagine. Cisternino, just 6 kilometres, has its own character and charm, many free summer concerts and great restaurants. Alberobello is a must for anyone interested in the region's trulli buildings. It is a small town, consisting almost entirely of trulli. Although crowded with tourists in summer, it is worth a visit... and we can recommend some great local restaurants to complete your day. Martina Franca is the smartest town in the area. The Sunday evening passeggiata is a display to behold! The old town centre is a typical example of baroque art, with its white lanes, elegant mansions and stately churches and commune buildings.Beaches On this peninsula, you are never too far from the sea. The Adriatic sea is just 10 minutes from Trullo aromatic greeni, with family beaches and all facilities you need - including seafood and gelato! On the opposite coast, the Ionian, you will find stretches of open beach. Both coastlines offer large beaches and quiet coves, with beautiful clear blue water.

  • It's difficult to add something different to the other reviews, other than to say they are all correct. The trullo is beautiful, even more than one would expect. A welcome basket of all the essentials that one could need are awaiting your arrival. Four of us stayed five days in this wonderful Oasis, exploring all that the countryside provided (with of course the significant input of Isa). When we arrived on a spare tire (that's a story for another day), Isa quickly guided us to a great tire shop that within hours had ordered and installed a new tire. In short, if you want a truly great experience in beautiful Puglia... look no further. Steen, Helene, Ronaldo and Catherine

  • What a fantastic place to spend a relaxing vacation. Isa (our host) met us on arrival and departure, she was friendly, helpful and kind. The house design (trullo) is beautiful and interesting and the garden is fragrant and full of plant life. You'll love the hammock! I spent hours swinging back and forth while reading my book. In all, the place is perfect for relaxing and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to "get away from it all" (Goes without saying, you'll need a car to get around as the house is a couple of clicks out of town)

  • There are not enough words to convey how wonderful this trulli is and very true to pictures. We just came back from our trip in July. It was very dry there but the fig trees, apricot and plum trees were still producing which was such a nice treat. Isa truly is the hostess with the mostest!!!!! We arrived late due to plane issues and had problems finding the trulli. She came out to search for us and met us with a smile on her face leading us to the trulli. Upon arrival, we found treats in the frig and a bottle of wine. Such a peaceful place. We also found it convenient to all the areas we wanted to visit. I hope someday to return. Everything about the trulli is very special and first class.

  • There are not enough words to express my delight with this airbnb experience. Isa's description of the property and things to do had me in such a high state of anticipation that I never dreamed that it could be even better. She stocked the fidge with incredible food and picked fruit from the garden...which was great after arriving from such a long journey. Her restaurant and near-by town recommendations were perfect. Everything was so tasteful and cool. It really doesn't get better if you are looking for a quiet country retreat.

    Lisa2014-08-11T00:00:00Z

    Keri-Ann2015-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Isa was a wonderful host, and the trullo was beautiful. Photos don't do it justice. We can't wait to come back to the region.

    Angela2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I spent a week at Isa's trullo. It is a lovely garden setting with many kinds of fruit trees and vegetables. Isa's hard work really shows. The house was comfortable and nicely located to Cisternino and Ostuni. I especially liked the very equipped kitchen. We had a few very very hot days and Isa went to some trouble to get two good fans for us. She also left some of her hosed jam and other goodies for us. A very peaceful setting with a great view of the full moon.

  • We had the most wonderful visit. Lotte and Alexis are extremely charming hosts. They personally transformed their troglodyte into a rustic oasis with handcrafted details and artistic touches. Nestled in a quaint, picturesque village, the location is superb with easy access to Amboise and the surrounding area. We can't wait to return.

  • Troglodyte living at its finest! Alex and Lotte are wonderful hosts who put a lot of love and effort in making sure their guests feel comfortable and right at home. A big breakfast is included with the stay. The cave itself is furnished with everything you need and is very comfortable and romantic. Situated in a small town 10min drive from the main town of Amboise, it is an ideal place to explore the Chateaus of the Loire Valley. Better than a hotel! 5 star listing!

  • We've had a marvelous time at Alexis and Lotte's place!!! Our troglodyte had everything we could need. And it was so nicely decorated. The hosts are very kind and friendly. We felt like at home. And the breakfast that Lotte cooked the next morning.... So delicious! It was unforgettable! Very easy to access the most known castles in the region. We will definitely come back there! Highly recommended as the best place to stay in val de Loire.

  • The quintessential cabin for a winter weekend getaway with friends and family! Upon arrival, Ryan and Darnie were incredibly welcoming and communication was such a breeze. With the help of the driveway street lamp, the location of the cabin was well lit making it effortless to find after sun down. The neighborhood was quiet, but yet friendly which complimented a cozy stay. Every room was fresh, neat, and presentable with a unique touch of their own giving the home a welcoming character. If you plan on cooking there, prepare to bring your own spices, everything else was well equipped. The traditional snowy winter weather was just the cherry on top that made our stay at R&D's that much better, we couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable stay!

    Kenny2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • this was the perfect cabin seeing. the interior is beautiful and the furniture was awesome. everything you need to cook and plenty of dvds and games that entertained us and four kids since it rained the whole time. the hosts were quick to respond to any questions. well definitely be staying here in the future.

    Brian2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and easy intro. Very cool rustic decorated cabin with comfortable beds and a great living room space. Cool old fireplace to lite up in the winter. Was a great value and only about 8 mins to the strip on the lake.

    Kyle2016-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan was great about contacting us and letting us know any and all information. His cabin is very clean and beautifully remodeled. We spent Thanksgiving here and had a wonderful time. The cabin is far away from the strip to enjoy the peacefulness of Tahoe and close enough for an easy trip to town. Our first day we sat on the deck in the warm sun and the second day it snowed. The Tahoe Chalet was remodeled and the bathrooms, furniture, kitchen, and esthetics are all wonderful. The people who live around the cabin were all very friendly and helpful. We had two children and a dog with us and the cabin worked out perfectly for them too. All of the adults who were there agreed this was one of the best rentals we have stayed in. We hope to return again someday.

    Kim2014-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at the Chalet. We were six friends staying for two winter nights, and we didn't feel crowded at all. The central heater works well for heating the house and drying wet socks, and additional space-heaters in the bedrooms kept us at perfect temperatures. The full kitchen allowed us to cook several meals together, and the location is great for long walks, snow-covered adventures, or driving to our Tahoe destinations. It's a beautiful, bright home, with every detail of the decor thought through. We didn't want to leave!

    Odalis2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • this house is very comfy with great beds and decorated very nice, we enjoyed our stay and would rent it again if ever in the area again' Ryan and Darnie were great hosts ...answered questions ...and kept in touch.

A sturdy cabin with lots of natural light, right in a flowerful garden. It will feel like living outdoors, while inside the cabin there is a lingering aroma of larix wood and crackling of the woodstove.
This charming garden room has a 180 degrees garden view, with large windows in the front and in the roof. (Full length curtains for the windows allow for privacy.) In the cabin you will find a comfortable bed with good mattress - size 165cm by 205cm and plushy pillows. A comfortable desk and chair, free WiFi – to read or even finish some work. Water cooker and drinking water available. Besides being well-suited for the summer, it is also very cozy for the autumn and winter because of the romantic woodstove. The bathroom and toilet are just a few steps away in the main house. Inside the cabin itself is a faucet for water and thanks to good suggestions from guests there is now a chemical toilet for a pee in the night. We don't offer breakfast or cooking facilities, but her you get quietness and romance :) A small stream meanders past the front of the cabin. In the evening the garden is nicely lighted and makes for a beautiful sight and there are multiple sitting areas in the garden. And chickens to enjoy :) - no roosters! The cabin is about 8mts behind our house. Welcome!
The location is in the largest natural area of the Netherlands. The area is great for both walking and bicycling (if you did not bring your own, we have two you can borrow). Many short and long walking and biking routes through heathlands, woods and meadows start within a kilometer from the house. Also within walking distance (800 meter) are the town centre (with shops and several decent restaurants) and swimming pool. Lakes (including beaches) are 5 kilometers away.
  • Having not checked the amenities before booking (bad mistake will know for next time!) I didn't know that there's no breakfast included which kinda shocked me so we had to find some place out to have breakfast but the next day there were two cups of salad fruit waiting for us by the front door, what a charming surprise!

    Aurélie2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Because I haven't found anything in the reviews that touches on the following subject: There is a watercooker, tea, coffee and anything you might need in the morning which was a very pleasant thing. Otherwise I can only say that Bea and Frans are amazing hosts, not only because the cabin is exactly as described and they are very nice and warm people but also because they didn't hesitate a second to help me by picking me up, because the train tracks were blocked, so the train out of Amsterdam couldn't arrive in ermelo! Our trip in November was very rainy and thus cold but the wood stove in the cabin warms it up again after sleeping. The mattress and especially the pillows are very comfortable and I admit that I miss the coziness haha. Truly an awesome experience!

    Nikola2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the charming garden room was a very pleasant experience. Bea and Frans gave us a warm welcome and surprised us with a beautiful bunch of flowers out of their own garden. The room is very cosy with a lot of sweet and surprising details. Everything was as descripted in the profile and very comfortable. The atmosphere of the garden was beautiful. Our hosts were also very helpful with information about the area. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Uli2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • A "real Airbnb" experience - hosts that welcome you, breakfast and chit chat, and an interesting location! I was so relaxed in Ermelo, a quiet town with hardly any traffic. Bea and Frans's place is a dream among flowers. I recommend staying here as a nice contrast to visiting other big cities in the Netherlands. Can't wait to plan my next trip!

    Danielle2018-06-05T00:00:00Z

    Laura2018-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in this gardenroom, Bea and Frans are very friendly. There is a nice town Harderwijk with a beach and restaurants about 10km from the place, close to Amsterdam and actually close to everywhere as you are in the middle of Netherlands. You can go for a trip by bike and explore the neighbourhood.

    Alena2018-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to be the first guests of Bea and Frans, and they were great! The garden house is super cozy and perfect in warm or cold weather. As they say in the profile, the toilet and shower are inside but this isn't an inconvenience at all as you're so close. The garden house is made entirely of wood so it smells great!! And the surrounding garden is beautiful. Long story short, we had a fantastic time! The area is beautiful with so much to do. The house itself was great, and Bea and Frans were wonderful hosts- very helpful, informative, and great to just chat with :) I highly suggest staying here!

Recomendamos!

  • We were greeted at the airport by Faissal and had a trouble free drive to the riad, where we were warmly greeted by the wonderful Sabbah (even though we arrived late). The riad is situated in a quiet, safe and convenient part of the Medina. If you turn left out of the little street (derb) you will quickly find yourself in the heart of the souks, and within walking distance of the market square and Khatoubia (prepare to get lost though; you'll get the hang of it after a day or 2). Even better was turning right out of the street and walking past the campest guards you'll see, to a less touristy, but equally exciting and authentic Marrakech experience. The riad itself was a lovely place to hang out. Private and homely, and even in January we were able to sit in the sun on the terrace. Our departure was arranged and Sabbah took the trouble to find us to make sure that we got the telephone charging cable that we left behind. I hope to get back to Françoise' place, We recommend it 100%

  • Dar Ahwach is a very special place and the perfect oasis to balance the crazy and magical world of the medina. It's location is superb, it's interior beautiful and it is made all the more special by Sabbah, the housekeeper, who is just wonderful. You should definitely take the opportunity to try her home cooking. It was the best food we had and that's saying something because everything we ate in Marrakech was fantastic. I'd also highly recommend breaking out of the city for a trip with Fayssal, the driver. The time we spent with the two of them was so important in helping us to try and understand more about Marrakech than just the 'big square', the souks and the shopping - all of which will blow your mind. We stayed for 5 days and it definitely was not long enough. I feel like I've walked out of a love affair just as it began and I'm very sad to have left it behind.

  • Beautiful Original Understated Riad!! Thank you for Francoise for letting us stay in her riad. The water sound from the fountain, Unbeatable Roof Experience with a Clear Morocco Sky. Sabah, the house keeper makes amazing breakfast and help us in any way she can. Very friendly experience. Highly Recommend.

  • My husband and I stayed in this riad on our little holiday in Marrakech. We are so happy we chose this place, had amazing time! Riad is beautiful and tranquil, located perfectly to the suke, and felt very safe. And Sabah, who takes care of the riad, is such a lovely lady. We don't speak French, but we managed to exchange a lot of fun stories over breakfast table, and it was so nice. Francoise was very helpful too. She even sent us a document filled with very helpful information about the city before our visit. If we are to go back to Marrakech, we are definitely staying this read again!

This bamboo cottage is a secluded eco retreat down a quiet foot path nestled in the rice fields and only a five minute walk to central Ubud. Open air basket weave bedroom with mini loft, modern elegant bathroom and outdoor living area make this a truly unique Bali experience.
This is a woven house made almost entirely of bamboo. It is open air and as close to living in nature as you get. Our main lodge is down a private foot path only accessible to cottage guests. if you choose to join us for dinner, a swim or for socializing with other guests you are welcome to enjoy this common space with a saltwater pool and a swing. :)
This is a hidden spot literally just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Ubud with its restaurants and shops, but it feels lost in time and like a total retreat. In the day you will only meet rice farmers and local women blessing the rice. At night you will only see fireflies and hear the rushing river, crickets and the distant sounds of the temple. An evening massage is a great way to end the day at sunset on the terrace. We have an in house masseuse who is available by appointment.

    Roberto2018-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience when looking for something more than the usual hotel/guesthouse. So peaceful, can hear nature at night instead of busy Ubud. Would definitely stay again and highly recommended others to stay here!

    Joseph2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay in the bamboo eco cottage! The room is really cool, there's a shared pool and a restaurant with great food. Breakfast is served to you on the terrace each morning too! The scenery is so beautiful and peaceful! It's a 15-20 minute walk into central Ubud - the main road has no pavement so be careful walking down here especially in the dark!! - which was definitely manageable. In central ubud there are loads of shops and restaurants and things to do! All the staff were so friendly and helpful too! :) There are bugs and lizards around and lots of ants so be prepared for some visitors in your room as there are no walls! We brought our own mosquito net to sleep under - there is a kind of canopy over the bed but it's not really suitable for keeping the bugs out! There is wifi but it was slow at times (we found this at all the places we stayed in Bali though) and electric lights plus sockets to plug in phone chargers. No air con/fan but weren't too hot - it actually gets quite cool at night so we used the blanket! Overall we had an amazing stay and wished we'd booked for more than 2 nights!! Definitely recommend :)

    Kat2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, fantastic staff and very positive atmosphere. We liked the fact that guests were mainly adventurers, not posh/fussy people. Good location, close to the city but also very secluded. We had a scooter that was good, but ne aware that the path to the house is pretty narrow so at night is probably better to walk that distance if you are not a great scooter driver. It was a great stay! We will come back!

  • We had an amazing night in ubud, the cottage is lovely, with a nice view on the ricefields. The staff was very helpfull and the food was delicious. This place really feels like paradise!

    Kristin2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is so far the most beautiful place I've ever visited in my life! The way through the rice field is an adventure, the service is really great; friendly and they are there whenever you need them. Meow, is always around (cat) she makes sounds whenever someone comes around.. And she loves attention! We loved her, but if you have cat allergic.. Communicate this with them. There are other beautiful places they have, on pretty the same distance.. So the cat wont be around. I definetely will come to this place again, want to stay more than 1 day this time. Love this place!!

  • This location was perfect! The view was amazing! Just what I needed for my spring break getaway. The host we're very polite and there to answer any question I had.

  • Hosts were very communicative throughout our visit. They provided refreshments, snacks, toiletries, and a recycling can (which we very much appreciated!). The notes and instructions about the property were excellent; this allowed us to be very self-sufficient and we were able to come and go when we pleased without feeling like we were disruptive. We were pleasantly surprised to see all of the night lighting and decor in the back patio on our first night. Driveway was much steeper than anticipated, but we worked around how to get up the hill without issue. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would recommend their space to others.

  • Alex and Dennis are really nice hosts. They met us on check in, answered questions and made us feel at home. We took a dip in the pool which was really refreshing after a day of travel. The pool house offers you peace and quiet at the end of a busy day sight seeing or shopping. Close to some outstanding restaurants and easy access to interstates. We highly recommend the pool house.

    Chris2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The experience at DnA's pool house was fantastic. The place is exactly as the pictures show, and the hosts are exceptionally welcoming and responsive. Upon arrival, there were several refreshments available and a helpful sheet of information that included how to operate various features (such as the spa/hot tub!). They also provided suggestions for local attractions and places to eat which weren't necessarily on our initial itinerary but were excellent recommendations. We would definitely stay with DnA again!

    Adam2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Warm welcome with a small present for the kids. The place is exaxtly as mentioned and a great place to stay during your LA-stay. Pool was a bit too cold, but the spa heated up quickly - so plenty of time to splash around. Would definately come back anytime.

  • Beautiful apartment! The view is even more stunning than the pictures. Hot tub is fantastic! Gunnar was very helpful and responsive when we needed his help. Great place to stay and enjoy Akureyri whale watching, baths at Myvatn and dettifoss/godafoss waterfalls. We did the golden circle on this trip too, much preferred the north - fewer people and scenery more dramatic.

    Suzi2013-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay in Gunnar's house. The design, the architecture and the views are truly amazing. The city is very close and the house is ideally located to enjoy the trips in this area. The day and night views from the house are incredible, and always renewed depending on the weather and time of the day. A very enjoyable stay !

  • Gunnar was a great host. He let us know everything we needed and left great instructions in the house. The place was amazing - breathtaking views of town and just what we needed on our vacation.

  • Gunnar was a wonderful host and his house in Akureyri is just marvelous! It was great to have so much space and light and such a wonderful view!

    Urs2015-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome design house soaked with light in an idyllic setting facing Akureyri. Unfortunately, not suitable for babies (very echo, no high chair, host kindly bought a baby bed for our last night) nor cooking (stove not working, minimal cookware, no microwave...). Feels like the house has not yet been inhabited by host (no hooks or storage, painting on the floor, stores with no blinds with 24 hours of light...). Hopefully, many defaults can be forgotten thanks to the naturally filled outdoor hot tub with the best view in town. This house does not need so much to be 5 stars.

This spacious, unparalleled cave house, hanging on the cliffs of the caldera in the center of Oia, is part of a traditional complex of cave houses, owned & renovated by a family of architects.
Crowning a unique complex of cave houses which used to serve as the old bakery of the settlement, and just a moment from the main pedestrian street of Oia, lays the remarkable cave house of sculptural aesthetics. Originally renovated for personal use by local craftsmen, the house perfectly combines traditional style with comfort. The plasticity of its forms, the use of local techniques, the built in beds and the selection of antique furniture together with the modern amenities, strike the right balance between sophistication and coziness. The cave house has two private bedrooms one of which was actually the old cistern, now transformed into a cocoon, cave room. This couples' nest, is five organic-formed steps sideways and below the main level of the house, with an emperor size (200 x 200 cm) built in bed and vintage wooden furniture. The original path that was naturally created by the cliff structure, connecting the two caves which form this house, leads to the master bedroom, on the other side of the house, maintaining the original architectural plan. With a private entrance, two windows and a door that separates it from the rest of the house, this bright and spacious bed room comfortably fits an oak queen size bed (160 x 200 cm), a large desk with a chair, an antique bookcase and a handcrafted mirror. Both bedrooms are equipped with high quality latex mattresses. In the commodious, off-white living room, a warm and relaxing corner has been created by the two large built in sofa beds (easily accommodating two for sleep) and the square beech wood coffee table. On the side, a solid, oak wood dining table is surrounded be a wooden and a built in bench, comfortably sitting a company of six for a luscious meal, right next to the fully equipped kitchen. There, an oven, ceramic hot plates, refrigerator, coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster and cutlery ensure your stay will be as convenient as possible. The bathroom, deeply curved in the cave, with off white local stucco technique and marble from Crete, has a handcrafted marble wash basin and rain shower. Outdoors, the private terraces expand on different levels literally on the rim of the caldera, creating unique angles and comfortable sitting spaces. You have travelled miles in order to come here; this is the time that you can finally dip in the white washed, semi cave whirlpool. Grasp the serenity and beauty of the sensational, unobstructed view of the volcano. The caldera, the sea and the sky which will undoubtedly leave you breathless. Enjoy!
Oia is the most picturesque coastal town on the northwestern tip of Santorini. The town has whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops, and overlooks a vast caldera filled with water.
  • Amazing place. Stunning view from a cool private terrace. Perfect location for a group of friends or a family. Laskarina was very accommodating.

  • Our family of 5 just spent 4 incredible nights in Laskarinas cave house. The house was even better than we had imagined and the view into the caldera defies description. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the silliness watching the colours change through the day. Laskarina was lovely and helpful and it was so nice to meet her.

    Sonya2012-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Laskarina responded to our queries very quick and managed to clarify everything we need to know before our trip. We arranged airport transfer with her and there was a portal service to help us with our luggage to the apartment! Laskarina's husband, John received us at the apartment and gave us a detailed tour around the house, and there was a bottle of wine for us to welcome us! The apartment was amazing! It was really cosy with breathtaking view right outside of the door. We can't help to take a few seconds to enjoy the view every time we step out of the door. We stayed in the apartment most of the time as most of the shops in Oia were closed due to low season. But it wasn't a problem for us as the apartment was such a nice place to relax and enjoy the view.

  • I'm pretty sure everyone says the same thing, but this is the best money can buy! Pictures don't even do it justice! Super modern amenities, comfortable beds, updated kitchen and bath, and super unique! Can't say enough about this place! I've already recommended and sent the link to friends and family. Thanks Laskarina!!

  • Thank you Laskarina! We had a wonderful stay at your house. The view is magnificent!!!! The private patio is a big plus. The house is spacious and beautiful in its simplicity. Ana, the hostess is extremely friendly and very accommodating. Big plus the house is 10 STEPS away from main walking path....don't realize until you get there how important that is!!!! All in all a wonderful stay. The restaurant next door Fogla is a must try for a date night!

  • Words cannot describe how amazing Laskarinas place is! The view is better than a postcard and it is so peaceful. This property is by far our favourite air bnb experience and i couldnt recommend it highly enough. Laskarina was more than hospitable and took care of even the fine details- wine in fridge/bowl of fruit/cell phone for emergencies....all whilst in the middle of having a baby!!!!! Thankyou so much for everything and we hope we can return one day! The house itself is comfortable and conveniently located- you wont even want to leave Oia. Laskarina gave us a detailed email full of suggestions of places to eat and see. If you need a place to relax and wind down- this the place to do it...the view is priceless! Once again cannot recommend highly enough!

  • Laskarina and John were exceptional hosts and went beyond expectations to help make our 6 day vacation on Santorini magical. Communication before and during our visit was speedy; a cell phone programmed with their numbers was provided with the apartment in case email, which was always responded to quickly, wasn't fast enough. Laskarina arranged transportation upon arrival and departure which was greatly appreciated, stress reducing, and recommended for future guests especially if the island is in it's busy season. We were thankful that with late ferry arrival that our ride was still waiting for us at the port! John met us promptly in Oai, helped with luggage, and arranged for extra sheets for use in the living room which came right away. It was comforting knowing the hosts were available, yet not intrusive. Laskarina kindly arranged for a half day sailing trip (a vacation highlight!), provided island history, and her favorite island places. We had fun hunting out, trying and were pleased with her recommended restaurants and cafes in Oai. Arriving at the apartment had us in awe. Only a few steps down the main pedestrian lane, yet a sanctuary from the sometimes crowds there. The apartment's views and aesthetics were superlative and photos are true and accurate. A bottle of wine, basket of fruit and water were waiting for us upon arrival made us feel welcome. It was comfortable for our family of four with good sleeping. We ate breakfasts there all mornings with no limitations. There was no better place to relax than the apartment's many terraces. I highly recommend Laskarina and John as hosts and Unique architecture as a place to stay in Oai.

Oak paneled walls, wooden window shutters, and warm parquet floors surround you. Choose from hundreds of books and read in a secret bed box behind floor-to-ceiling shelves. Family portraits and heirlooms happily coexist with works of modern art.
Romantic and stylish apartment, It's the perfect base from which to explore Edinburgh from. I've already had some great people come and stay, so I welcome you to my home. Edinburgh castle is a short walk away from the apartment, and the National Gallery, St Giles Cathedral, National Museum of Scotland are all close by. My apartment is on the fourth floor of an 18th Century tenement with views on to the historic Royal Mile. With all mod cons and a unique location, this is the perfect apartment to have as a base while you explore Edinburgh. The apartment retains the unique character of the Old Town with oak panelled walls and parquet flooring, mixed with family portraits, antiques and works of art, but also all the modern comforts of a home. It is on the fourth floor and is reached by a spiral staircase (76 steps in all!) For our American cousins that's a walkup :-) There is no elevator. The apartment is South facing and full of light by day. The hall has a cupboard to hang clothes/store shoes etc. There is also an ironing board/iron and a hair dryer kept here as well. The bathroom has a bath and a shower, there is always hot water and plenty of towels for you to have. Then through the main door off the hall, is the open plan living space. Five full height original Georgian sash windows face you as you walk into the space. Floor to ceiling book cases and a large period fireplace with French empire over-mantle mirror. There is free wifi throughout the apartment, also a big collection of fiction/history/cookery/poetry/art/design books to while away the time with and I have a music/radio player with an eclectic choice of C.Ds. Plus cards and board games. A large kitchen space with character and all the modern cons - toaster, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven, kettle, induction hob etc. However I don't own a microwave. There is a washing machine and there is washing liquid capsules for it under the sink, just put one of these inside the washing machine drum and close the door and turn to what ever setting you want. I do not have a dryer (it's not that typical here in Scotland/Europe) what I do have is a clothes horses which you can hang your clothes on. Their kept folded up in the hall cupboard. I hate staying in apartments on holiday where there aren't even any basics to cook with like salt and olive oil, so the kitchen is stocked with all the usual larder fare to help yourself to if you're cooking in. Plus coffee and all sorts of teas. I also have an honesty bar if you want to finish off with a drink or two after a long day of walking around town. By the windows is the generous dining space with oak dinning table and six chairs. The bed is a unique 'bedbox chamber' made from architectural salvaged fitted Scottish 18th/19th century carved oak. A floor to ceiling hidden panelled door lets you into this cosy space with reading lights on the headboard and it is fitted out with a British king size mattress - width 150cm and length 200cm, white cotton sheets, pillows and duvet. Mary Queen of Scots would feel quite at home sleeping in it! The living room area of the apartment is tucked at the West side of the room and has two good size sofas, reading lamps and is perfect to socialize in and also have quiet time with a good book. I hope to hear from you. I'm more than happy to answer any questions or give advice about Edinburgh/restaurants/bars etc All the best Calim
Edinburgh is beautiful and historic. This apartment is in the oldest part of the city, close to the castle. Museums, restaurants, and good coffee shops are really close by, as are the train station and airport links.
  • Lovely place right next to Castle, we enjoyed staying here and will be back. Enjoyed the breakfast left for us.

  • We absolutely fell in love with Edinburgh and Calim's home and hospitality had an awful lot to do with that! Such a stunning setting and surrounded by places of great interest and glorious places to eat! The appartment couldn't be more convenient for tourist attractions and travel. The castle is a stone's through away and we felt in the hub of activity the whole time. The appartment was the perfect place to chill after a busy day climbing Arthur's seat too! Overall a beautiful, comfy and welcoming place. Thank you very much! Carys and Jan

  • Whow, what a beautiful place. We had a really good time in Edinburgh and staying in this lovely apartment definitely played a big part. Calim was very friendly and helped us with addresses of restaurants around. Thanks a lot.

  • FANTASTIC! on a scale of 1-10, this is a 50! Calim's flat is simply a delight from start to finish, even better than the pictures. Immaculate, it is magnificently decorated with fine art and books; I could have happily stayed in and read for a month! Calim's decor is stellar and sophisticated, making a historic flat modern and elegant. Stunning deepset Georgian windows with their historic shutters look down on the Lawnmarket, the section of the Royal Mile closest to the Castle. Pour yourself a glass of wine in the evening and savor the atmosphere of this fairy tale nest; the lighting alone makes this the most romantic flat I have ever stayed in, and I felt like Marie Antoinette in that cabinet bed! In the morning, rain or shine, light pours in from those windows as the faint sound of bagpipes wafts down the street...I felt like i was in a movie! Staying here is like staying in a feature from Architectural Digest. Bathroom was fabulous, water pressure and temperature perfect. It is rare that one is able to find a nice place to stay in the Royal Mile that doesn't cost a fortune; the flat is actually a historic building only feet from Gladstone's Land, another historic home featured as a tourist attraction. NOTE: This flat is NOT suitable for those who cannot make it up the four flights of stairs (76 I believe), or for very young children. Calim simply has too many nice things, and they deserve to be treated well. Parking costs can also be forbidding...beware the lot under the castle; I ignored Calim's suggestion and ended up with a £65 fee for 2 days! I almost hate to post this review, because I am sure that scores of people will flock to stay here, and I can't wait to return next time I am in Edinburgh. In a word, PERFECT. Calim, if you will allow, I will be back!

  • We enjoyed every minute of our 3 night stay in this exquisite apartment! Wish we could've stayed for longer! The apartment is beautifully decorated, well equipped, clean, quiet and filled with light, thanks to the gorgeous windows! There was bread, butter and jam, orange juice, milk, tea and fresh coffee waiting for us in the kitchen. The location served us well and the 76 steps leading up to the apartment wasn't a huge bother for us. We had the privilege of meeting Calim when we picked up our luggage on our last day and he's such a pleasant guy! His food recommendations are spot on (we went to Timberyard, Ondine, Locanto's Kitchen, Under the Stairs, Brew Lab, Wellington Coffee) and he also has great taste in books and music. We hope to stay again, if possible, when we next visit Edinburgh!

  • Calim was a wonderful host, he provided us with a listings of all the good place to eat, lunch or brunch." Kampai sushi" is definitely recommended. The apartment was lovely, everything was clean and extremely well decorated. The location is a perfect, extremely central which is very convenient. Although the street is quite busy during the day it is very calm at night and the apartment is noise free. Overall a great experience !

FREE: Fiber Optic Internet Connection! 1 bedroom apartment with a king size bed, bathroom, a kitchen and dining/living area with a pull out sofa. It has a direct access from the bedroom to the pool which is shared with only 2 more apartments. Our guests are mainly travelers and tourists who like to be independent and therefore prefer to live in a flat rather than a hotel. They alone take care of their comfort as well as cleaning, washing the dishes, waste disposal, etc.
White Pool Villa with only 3 apartments is located on the road from Rawai beach to the Phromptep Cape, the most southern tip of Phuket, known for its romantic and spectacular sunsets. The apartments share private pool, so there is no crowd and enough privacy for everyone. Each apartment has its own private terrace. The villa has a large garden (1000 sqm) with trees and palms. Set in beautiful hillside grounds bursting with tastefully nurtured vegetation with a back-to-Nature feel. Yet, it is only a few minutes away from the famous Rawai and Nai Harn beach. Amenities and service: - FREE: Fiber Optic Internet Connection! -Air Condition -Celling Fans -LCD TV, cable TV -Safe box in each apartment -Free WiFi (Fiber Optic Internet: 24.45Mbps download spead, 3.48 Mbps upload speed) -Free Parking -Towels and bed linen are provided -Cleaning 1 x per week or as agreed Phuket Airport Distance: 1:30 h, depending on the traffic Phuket Town: 30 minutes We do hope that you will enjoy your stay in our apartment!
For swimming try nearby beaches such as little, cute Ya Nui and Nai Harn Beach. Nai Harn Beach is often overlooked compared to other west coast beaches getting a lot more attention. But many frequent visitors to Nai Harn will tell you that they love the beach for its peaceful and unspoiled character. Its location is not far for all the action and fun nightlife spots such as Patong which is just 20 minutes away. Rawai Beach is not an ideal place to swim, but it has a charming and natural feel. There are no jetskies, banana boats or any of the trappings of a west coast beach; this is Thai beach life. Here you will find many good and inexpensive restaurants, markets, ATMs, taxi stands, etc.

  • EXPERIENCE It has been a pleasure to stay at WPV and the trip to Phuket was so much easier with the help of Mr Zokson! He was really prompt in answering all the questions we had. Can't thank the villa staff more for being really nice, helpful and approachable. The villa itself is well maintained and home-liked. GETTING AROUND - Renting a car/bike would make travelling around a lot easier and cheaper too! We managed to rent a car for 2 days from a nearby shop on the first day of the trip. Even though the villa seems to located quite inconveniently, there are actually a few viewpoints that are nearby that should be checked out especially if you wanna catch the sunset. Alternatively, the staff can help arrange transport or Grab will do the job too. In addition, we manage to book a tour last minute (to Racha and Coral Islands) for the next day, as we could not decide on which islands to go. TAKE NOTE - It could be quite warm once the doors are all closed even with the fan on. Not sure if there's a heater but cold showers are pretty shiok too. CONCLUSION - a good review is much deserved and we will definitely recommend and come back for a stay next time! P.S. the pet at the villa and its really friendly :)

  • Cannot fault our stay here. We stayed for two weeks and have been impressed with the attentiveness and kindness of the owners. The apartment and gardens were better than expected. Space was simple but clean and would definitely recommend and return if ever in phuket.

  • Zokson warmly welcomed us, showed around the villa and very quickly arranged a scooter rent without asking to keep the passport. The villa is not walking distance from the Rawai beach, but on a scooter it takes no more than 3-4 minutes to get there. There is a pool (rather small and shallow, but soo good to jump in after a day in the sun) and the kitchen is stocked by most necessities (including four cork screws :)). Air conditioning and ceiling fans work nice and quiet. Garden looks neat and clean. But the villa itself was a mere disappointment. Here and there it shows signs of previous tenants and the parties they held, like burns and stains on the curtains. The bathroom definitely needs attention: there are huge spidernets in the corners and the shower is so clogged with limestone that it sprays water in every direction - ended up in making my towel completely wet. The towels themselves were not clean and we decided to buy new ones for the floor at least. Kitchen looks rather worn. Door light was broken so we had to use a flashlight each time coming home after dark. The bed is in fact quite firm as some people say, but it didn't cause any discomfort after some getting used to it. Overall we expected more that we actually got and felt that we could have paid less or chosen another place to stay. The villa definitely needs more attention and probably some refurbishment, especially in the bathroom.

  • What a relaxed and incredible experience we had! Everything from arranging a stay, requesting amenities (birthday surprise for my SO), to renting a scooter. It was as smooth as it could have been; impeccable! Mr. Zokson does an absolute amazing job at communicating with the guests, and he responded promptly to all our enquiries in detail, and exceeded our expectation. This was our first time staying in a place through Airbnb and we must say it was a well-rounded positive experience. As few reviews have aforementioned, we were picked up from the airport by taxi arranged by Mr.Zokson. The taxi driver; Mr. Jarat, was a very friendly and pleasant individual. He spoke very good English and he was able to answer all our enquiries ranging from recommendation for local attractions to political situations in Thailand. I strongly advise booking a taxi with Mr. Jarat, as he's very punctual, hard-working and honest man whose taxi service charge is very low as opposed to all the taxi service we came across on the island. It is quite a long journey from the airport to the apartment (45 mins), as the apartment is situated on the south of the island. However, the taxi ride from the airport to the apartment, on its own is quite spectacular. You drive through all the development, hustle bustle of the island and then to a secluded part of the island where the apartment is situated. The apartment is very spacious, well-regulated and with a beautiful relaxing swimming pool. We rented a scooter and was able to travel to all the 'must visit' places of Phuket, and I sincerely think the apartment is on the best part of the island. It is near the best beaches on the island for snorkeling & swimming; Ya Nui, Nai Harn, Kata and the secluded beach (request the housekeeper to show it you), just to name the few. The apartment is also close to Rawai beach where all the boat are docked and you can travel to all exotic accessible islands such as; Coral island, James Bond island, etc. After staying in Phuket for 7 days, we left for Phi Phi island where we stayed in 5 star hotel and then to Bangkok. After careful reflection, my SO and I concluded the best time we had in Thailand was by far in Phuket. The reason being - we got to live like an islander and the apartment felt like our own home. Not to mention we met an amazing people in the apartment who felt like family and this is why we absolutely loved the place. Thank you for having us Mr. Zokson! Phuket left a print in our heart. Your apartment is amazing and we are quite envious of it! :) (Hello Sigrid - How are you? )

  • One of the many downside of this villa would be the location. It was very far from town/city and the restaurants “near” at the villa were around 10-15 minutes away. There’s no tuktuk, bus or any public transportation around the area. Hence, the transpo fairs going to restaurants, phuket town & airport were very expensive. But the place was beautiful, clean and very secluded/private. 3.5/5 stars!
