Spend a unforgettable holiday in the enchanting surroundings of the town of Cisternino (reachable from the near airports of Bari and Brindisi). Trullo Edera offers a heaven of peace and tranquillity, set in an elevated position with a stunning view. It's the perfect place if you like nature. You can stay under an olive tree reading a good book, you can have a walk in the small country streets or go to the nearest beaches. You can even easily visit any of the sights in Apulia such as the caves of Castellana, the trulli of Alberobello, the baroque cities of Lecce and Martina Franca, the excavations of Egnazia, the zoosafari of Fasano, Castel del Monte with Frederick's castle, Grottaglie famous for its ceramics, Taranto, Brindisi and Lecce museums. Prices vary on period and are to be considered included: in-outcoming cleanings, towels, sheets, water, gas, electricity.
  • To stay in Anna's trullo was unforgettable experience. It is beautiful, very comfortable, conveniently located. We loved everything about it. Anna and her mom Tonia are amazing hosts, welcoming and very helpful. Will not forget delicious cherry we were allowed to eat just from the trees as well as Tonia's jam. Next time we will be in Puglia, this is the place we will stay! Thank you!!

In ogni caso: consigliato!

    Federico2013-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The trullo was so beautiful, well appointed and maintained. The countryside is lovely, the outside area was just wonderful, and the hosts, Anna and her mom, were very nice and very helpful. And, it is easy to get from this location to pretty much anywhere in Puglia that you want to go. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had everything you need plus more, (like coffee and milk for the next morning), and Anna and her mom had left some snacks and drinks in the refrigerator for us, which was very welcome after a long day of travel and arriving in the evening. This is a great place to stay!

    Jill2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the trullo was one of the main highlights of our trip to Italy. The pictures looked amazing but we were blown away when we actually saw the place and the surrounding area in person! We had an incredible first evening by taking a cooking class with Anna's sister Veronica which was such a great experience and we had enough food to last us the whole stay! The location of the trullo was very ideal, close to Cisternino, Locorotondo and Martina Franca. We were also easily able to do day trips to Polignano a Mare and Lecce. If you're looking for a unique stay, centrally located in Puglia and a once in a lifetime experience this is the place! We can't wait to return in the future!

  • Fabulous trullo! Wonderful owners- very attentive, super easy to communicate with ( Anna has perfect English, and lives next to the trullo). Amazing location in countryside/rolling hills outside Cisternino- 10 min drive. Car is essential! Two apartments in the same house- we rented the smaller one, perfect for a couple. Very spacious. Separate bedroom with double bed, great sitting room with dining table and comfy sofa. Very good kitchen- great pots and pans! Good bathroom though shower cubicle is a bit cramped, and definitely not good for very big/large people. Great water pressure. Private sitting areas in front and back- table and chairs in both. No air conditioning. Apartment can be aired out brilliantly by leaving both frontvand back doors open. Nice draft! We stayed in Aug. Cooled off nicely at night. The other, larger (2 bedroom) apartment is completely amazing: beautiful vine covered pergola with a view, lovely big kitchen, bathroom with bath, lovely garden/ patio. Area is perfect for sightseeing and beach! Anna has great restaurant recommendations! Great food market on Monday mornings in Cisternino.

  • Trullo perfetto, host perfetto, soggiorno perfetto! Da raccomandare, e da ripetere :) Anna was a perfect host, the trullo very cozy, and our stay simply perfect! Highly recommended!

AIRBNB'S #1 "MOST WISHED-FOR LISTING WORLDWIDE!" *Remaining 2018 dates are available exclusively for folks that have the treehouse on their WISH LIST... Suite of three beautifully furnished rooms set among the trees. Just minutes from downtown, this secluded property is an urban retreat like no other. The treehouse provides an intimate, simple and restful retreat for 2 people. The treehouse is the subject of innumerable articles, blogs, Treehouse Masters and Today Show.
We are honored to have been named Airbnb's "#1 most wish-listed property in the world"!!! Thank you! The treehouse has a Southern nature - gracious, calming, and comfortable. Centrally located within the heart of intown Atlanta, the treehouses are a hidden gem. The subject of TV and magazine features including the Today Show, "Treehouse Masters: Ultimate Treehouse IV", Architectural Digest, Travel + Leisure, Harper's Bazaar, and numerous others, they are often described as being the most relaxing, romantic, dreamy and unique place you'll ever stay. What could be better than falling asleep in the trees and waking up to birds singing around you--all within the city limits? The treehouse consists of 3 separate areas - Mind, Body and Spirit - each connected by rope-bridges. Descriptions of the 3 rooms are below. Mind - The Sitting Room: Antique furnishings and artifacts including 80 year old windows of pressed butterfly wings, a plaster cast of a Siberian Tiger paw, fossils, a couch and chairs, its a great place to read or talk and has a balcony overlooking an acre of lush woods... Body - The Bedroom: Sleeps 2. What could be better than a great bed up in the trees? The super comfortable double bed is outfitted with the world's best bedding: Parachute. These cozy linens are made of 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton and pure Linen. They're Oeko-Tex certified, meaning no harmful chemicals or softening synthetics have been used. You'll have your best night's sleep ever here at the Treehouse! The bed is equipped with wheels so it can either be inside the room or rolled out onto a platform that overlooks the stream below. The mattress has a warmer for cool nights and the tin roof makes rain storms something to be enjoyed. Spirit - The Hammock Deck: Open to the elements and immersed in thick greenery, the deck surrounds the spirited "Old Man", a 165 year old Southern Short-Leaf Pine tree--the largest of the 7 trees that support the treehouse suite and watch over its guests. BATHROOM IS LOCATED IN THE BASEMENT/LOWER LEVEL OF OUR PRIVATE HOME. GUESTS WILL HAVE EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO IT DURING THEIR STAY. The treehouses and main house share a lot and are within a 30 second walk to one another.
The neighborhood is a quiet, residential place. While our lot is located in a particularly peaceful, private and lush part of the area, it is important to remember that it is in the middle of intown Atlanta. And while very private, you can see other residential buildings from the treehouses.. While you may hear the occasional siren, normal neighborhood noise, the devil's hair dryer (leaf blower) or train whistle during your stay, the most common sound is that of silence broken only by birds, frogs and the wind in the trees.
  • The tree house was truly amazing. Peter was a great host. Waking up in the morning surrounded by nature was unexplainable. It was my girlfriend's birthday so Peter woke up at like 5:30 am and delivered hot tea before she depart for work. 5 star rating...2 thumbs up.

    Rico2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Both my wife and I had a relaxing and peaceful time in the treehouse. A wonderful place to spend an anniversary or surprise the one you love.

    Jose2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot begin to describe how wonderful it was staying in the treehouse. Peter was a wonderfully accommodating host, and our two nights there were so relaxing. It seems they have thought of everything one would possibly want and need, and the decor and the furnishings were awesome. And the location is absolutely perfect. Great romantic getaway.

  • Katie & Peter, We want to thank you for giving us the most memorable experience. Our stay at the treehouse felt like home away from home. I personally don't like bugs & detest Mosquitos but I must admit there were none of those to harass us. I truly enjoyed the beautiful night lights connecting the tree houses at night. The whole experience was serene, natural, beautiful, wholistic, healing, refreshing & the air was delicious! We had fine wine at night and enjoyed a lovely, light breakfast in the early morning. We enjoyed our hosts southern hospitality and their availability. We plan to revisit that special & peaceful place again & again. I am thankful & grateful to Katie & Peter for sharing their magical & divine treehouse. Light, Darcel & Prince

  • Katie and Peter took very good care of my nephew and his wife after I surprised them with a night at the tree house as a wedding gift, the day after their wedding. I knew they had a wonderful time after they posted their stay on Instagram. Thank You Katie and Peter for sharing your little secret oasis with us.

    Designer2k2014-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • The whole experience was fantastic! Peter immediately made us feel welcome and showed us around the treehouses, which were even cooler than the pictures make them seem. It's also great to have the private entrance to the house with access to the guest bath and bedroom. The wine and snacks when we arrived and the morning coffee were a lovely touch!

    Kelly2014-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Even more beautiful than the photos show, this was a fantastic retreat only 15 minutes away from my house. Peter was a great host and provided wine/snacks when we first arrived as well as coffee and tea the following morning. I can't speak highly enough about what a fun and fantastic experience this was, and we plan to be back at some point in the future!

    Chris2015-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I spent two nights at Katie and Peter’s tree house, and the experience was, as I wrote down in the sign-in book, a real dream come true (and even better). Both Katie and Peter are delightful – attentive but they leave you to your own space. Peter showed me how to play the blowgun darts and I had a lot of fun. We were wowed by the structure and the interior design of the tree house. Among the trees and under a starry sky, the nights were easily dreamy. The breakfasts were very good too. I admire the owners’ creativity and would definitely recommend the place.

Escape civilization to this incredible and peaceful getaway! Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology on your own private deck surrounded by pristine and untouched nature just a short drive away from LA.
This is the personal Airstream of a nature-loving Malibu designer who built it as his personal getaway from his busy hectic schedule. Stripped down to its bare aluminum studs, the airstream has been redesigned into a large studio with three large frameless glass panels that slide open to a huge cantilevered deck with unrivaled views of the pristine Santa Monica mountains rolling down to the Pacific ocean below. Lounge in our luxury extra thick wool rugs and cotton poufs, drive down to surf one of Malibu's best breaks or go hike Sandstone Peak (Santa Monica's highest mountain). But whatever you do, make sure not to miss the incredible sunsets off our deck. At night, watch the milky way appear and count the constellations above or the moon reflect on the ocean below. And if the wind is right, listen to the sounds of the crashing waves travel up the canyon or even the seals barking down below. And then at dawn, if you're lucky with the morning fog, wake up above the clouds like you are the only person in this planet. VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT CLICK ON THE AIRBNB LINK FOR DIRECTIONS as it might take you to the wrong location. Only use the accurate directions provided on our itinerary. If you don't you might get lost and we are not responsible if you do not follow our easy and foolproof directions. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS LISTING if you are afraid of nature or its creatures. Understand you are surrounded by thousands of completely untouched nature. You are very likely to hear (or see) coyotes, owls, seals, roadrunners and bunnies. There is a bobcat in the area but these are usually very skittish. There are a mice in the Santa Monica mountains. About once a month, a guest will complain that they saw a mouse. Said mouse might come into the airstream if food is left outside the fridge. We do not offer refunds if a mouse comes into the airstream but we do have 4 traps around the airstream so the odds are heavily stacked against the mice. In three years we have yet to ever see a rattle snake near the airstream so the area is definitely not prone to them. This listing is weather dependent. If there is a high chance of rain scheduled during your stay we reserve the right to cancel the reservation due to potential slippery road conditions and the fact that we have to store all the expensive furniture inside the airstream. The beauty of this experience lies in seeing infinite views and yet no trace of humankind. Sleeping with the doors open, under the milky-way while hearing the ocean waves crashing below and the occasional seal barking in the distance or coyote howling for its pack. Our guests have the most special nights here. Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology :-)
Circle x ranch, county line beach, matador beach, zuma as well as many other hikes are all less than 10mn away.

  • The listing description was perfect, and the photos were a true representation of the space. It truly is indescribable though. It's just a gorgeous spot. Rani was easy to chat with, but we didn't really need anything! I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a gorgeous setting!

  • Absolutely amazing place with most unbelievable view from mountains on ocean... It was absolutely amazing... Thank you so much!

  • Yes, it's like a dream!

    Zack2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a unique and fun experience. The place was everything that was advertised and more. We got caught in a freak windstorm, which was the only challenge of our trip. I also wish they had locks on the doors , but that's my own issues, because the place felt super safe.

    Doug2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this space so much! It was absolutely stunning, really couldn't find a better getaway spot. It is very secluded and private (a bit tricky to get to, but completely worth the winding roads!). Once you arrive you are staying there- so we were happy we brought food, cards, and drinks with us! Amazing views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. Enjoyed one of the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises I've ever seen. You really do feel as though you're floating among the clouds. The airstream itself is great, lots of little details like iPhone music hookups and nice wooden and metal shelving. The best part is the outdoor rug/pillow area. This was by far our favorite airbnb we've ever done in California.

    Julia2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Lindy2016-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The airstream is gorgeous, even better in person than in the photos. The views are incredible, and the airstream itself is very clean and comfortable. The interior is fun and stylish. Rani was a fantastic host--friendly and responsive. We weren't sure if we would be able to book due to incoming rainstorms, but Rani was patient and thoughtful, working with us to book our stay as soon as the weather was clear. We had a great experience and absolutely hope to book another stay this summer!

Selected as one of Airbnb's top picks, Sunrise house has been delighting its guests and celebrities from all over. In such a tranquil setting, often with a gentle breeze blowing, our guests are soothed into sitting back, relaxing and marveling. XX SPECIAL NOTE: ONGOING ADJACENT CONSTRUCTION WITH BAMBOO MON TO FRI 8am to 5pm MAY CAUSE SOME NOISE XX
Set on the sacred Ayung river valley, this all bamboo house is unique. First established in 2010, it is part of a master-planned community of luxurious bamboo villas with distinctive blonde roofs. Entering the house is a feast to the eyes and a showcase at how black and white bamboo can be combined in all shapes and pattern to create a stunning collection of luxurious floors, walls, ceiling, stairs and railings. Even the roof is an innovative arrangement of bamboo shingles. Sunrise House, perched on the edge of the Ayung river gorge, comprises four floors, 3 double bed bedrooms each with ensuite bathrooms, kitchen, lounge and dining space with fabulous views, plunge pool, a work space on the top (4th) floor, and fantastic pristine panoramas. Guests enter via the 3rd floor, where the lounge, a kitchen and media room are situated. Descending the stairs to the second floor leads to the north and south bedrooms, each with cooling fans, and ensuite bathrooms. The lowest floor holds the AC cooled Master Bedroom. The master bedroom also includes a drying room with a de-humidifier. All the bedrooms have wind down bamboo blinds for privacy. From the lowest floor, guests can exit the house and descend the stairs to the plunge pool and private garden, perched quite literally on the edge of the river valley. Part of our attraction is that we are set in a very natural environment, and whilst there a couple of local village stores nearby with some very basic supplies, we are 15 mins away the main road. We can help buy supplies for guests, but we do recommend guests bring along any personal supplies you may need, snacks, fruits, drinks. Other available services are massage, and car with driver, and Bamboo related workshops and tours. We are located 25 minutes from Bali’s cultural center of Ubud, and 30 minutes to Sanur beach
  • The Bamboo House is itself exceptional! Fantastic design, 4 levels, almost completely made out of bamboo. Service was spotty. Airport transfer was not arranged properly and I could not get hold of anyone for 24hrs. The massage was great. Note: air-conditioning only in bed area of master bedroom. Lots of mosquitos. Driver is expensive ordered through them.

  • We were absolutely blown away the minute we stepped in Sunrise House! We were welcomed by the lovely staff who worked at Green Village with a welcome drink and help taking our bags to the house. Everything was explained and the complimentary breakfast the next morning was delicious! The house is just magnificent! Nothing like we had stayed in before! Would highly recommend and we can’t wait to return!

    Elizabeth2017-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is such an amazing space to retreat from life. It is quiet, lush, peaceful, spacious and very comfortable. I would liken it to spending the night in a luxury tree house, with open aired living areas and bedrooms. We were amazed at the volume of the home, which makes it a wonderful place to share with friends and family. Eva, the manager of the Green Village, was incredibly welcoming and very helpful with suggestions for local activities and transport. I would highly recommend the bamboo factory tour and the tour of the Green School. Both are an inspiration to the possibilities of this unique and artistic building material as well as what you are able to do with a dream. A truly memorable experience.

    Rebecca And Matt2014-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Bamboo house is pretty spectacular to look at - probably one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. However, consider these points for your stay: 1. It's 30 minutes from Ubud so you'll have to get plenty of taxis 2. The river running outside is incredibly loud and also means everything becomes quite damp (we did go in monsoon season, however) 3. There are no windows so you get all manners of bugs flying in at all times. There seem to be a few interested hornets so worth noting if you have young children. If you're not too bothered by those points, you will love the place. Can't recommend their food however, you're much better off ordering in or cooking yourself.

    Martin2014-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • As soon as we arrived at Green village, we were welcomed by Maggie (Villa Manager) and her staff. They gave us a quick tour of the house and showed us where things were. They were very nice and professional. The following day Eva (Guests Relation) asked us how our experience staying at the Bamboo House so far and told us she was there to help should we encounter any problem. The following morning, Eva and Mirna guided us to a two hour walk in the neighborhood going through the woods, rice paddy, along the river and SUBAK which is the water management (irrigation) system for paddy fields on Bali island, Indonesia. Almost at the end of our walk we stopped by a local food seller and bought ripe papaya and delicious mangoes (Website hidden by Airbnb) We call our experience staying at the Bamboo House as : 'GLAMPING" or Glamorous Camping. The reason is because the whole house is open to nature with no windows. There was no doors to all bathrooms except one toilet on the living room area. We experienced bats flying over us while we took a shower. Neighborhood cats would come to sleep on our beds uninvited. At night my husband saw a big gecko over the mosquito net. This was quite an experience to stay as close to nature as we could without actually pitching a tent ourselves. Instead we stayed in a " Huge three storey tent" called Bamboo House. At the same time, we could order delicious meal (western style or Balinese style) from their onsite restaurant and delivered to our unit anytime. That's why we call this place as Glamorous Camping.

    Lily2015-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Utter heaven. Lulled to sleep by the sound of the river ajung then woke to it. Incredible dusk and dawn chorus. Good mosquito nets. A lot of time spent sitting and gazing at the valley. The trees. The swaying bamboos. The house martins. Swallows. Kingfishers. 7 species of butterfly. Nesting bird on the bamboo eaves. Incredible and inspiring design. Hot bath by moonlight. if we had been 1 of three couples would have wanted aircon unit for each bed not just master bed. Minor quibble but poss tricky if you are sharing the house equally. Please let me know if you take bamboo house concept to other bits of Indonesia or anywhere. For once didn't feel we were carrying the poisoned chalice of tourism. And would have loved an opportunity to but the beautiful green staff sarong!

    Tania2015-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • A truly unique experience of staying in a house all made of bamboo. I would recommend a visit to the nearby Bamboo Factory to truly appreciate the bamboo house for the structural design, construction and materials used. The villa manager (Maggie) and the staff were very professional. Stay at Green Village is highly recommended if you are comfortable with a few bugs and bats invading your personal space.

    Sumeet2014-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Green Village is a stunning, unique place to stay - amazing views from within the house over the valley, and the house itself is spectacular and very comfortable. Fantastic to see a different side of Bali, well away from the crowds of the coast. If you get chance to stay here - do!

Located in the coffee region, in the Andean mountains of Colombia, South America, a charming cabana made from bamboo, with a great view and a "sendero" or pathway through the bamboo forest which criss-crosses our 5 acre organic farm, leading down to a stream. A place to relax and commune with nature.
Surrounded by beautiful rainforest plants, strategically placed for privacy, with an outdoor shower in a garden. Commune with nature, listen to crickets and night and birds in the morning. Situated on a small organic farm. We grow tropical fruits and trees, flowers, with aloe vera as our main crop. There is an enchanting pathway through our bamboo forest, leading down to a mountain stream and a small waterfall. Near many coffee region tours and attractions, including our own organic farming workshops, visiting a nearby bee farm where our neighbor propagates bees in danger of extinction, local coffee tours, butterfly emporium, hang gliding, zip lining, white water rafting, horseback riding, hiking, visiting nearby historic towns and world heritage sites.
We are situated in the heart of the coffee region in the Andean mountains in Colombia. We are in "Vereda La Pradera" neighborhood, near the small town of "El Caimo", 20 minutes from Armenia and 20 minutes from the airport, by car. Close enough for comfort and easy access, far enough from the hustle of traffic and city noise that you can commune with nature. Sleep to the sound of the crickets and awaken to the sound of birds.

The Joshua Tree House is a two bed two bath 1949 hacienda located 10 minutes from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA. This is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from making local coffee by drip in the morning, choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by over 100 Joshua Trees and a starry night sky.
Instagram: @thejoshuatreehouse (all photos tagged with #thejoshuatreehouse) This house is very close to downtown Joshua Tree with many shops and restaurants about a 10 minute walk from the house. This also means that some sound from the highway can be heard. If you're looking for a completely silent desert experience, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree Casita (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10614974). Please also check that listing if you can't find the dates you're looking for. Welcome to the Joshua Tree House! This hacienda was built in 1949. With over 100 Joshua Trees on the property, the views from the house are magical. If you're up for it, sunrise on the front porch is incredible. We estimate that some of the larger Joshua Trees on the property are as old as our country! *Mattresses and Bedding by Casper* There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families. We can also set up an extra memory foam mattress in the hammock room (has privacy with pocket sliding doors) to accommodate groups of six.
Joshua Tree is a small community made up of musicians, artists, and explorers. In the village you will find locally owned and run restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and vintage shops. There are many wonderful places to visit during your stay at the house including the Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriet's, the Integratron, Salvation Mountain, the Salton Sea, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum, Crossroads, BKB Ceramics, and la Copine (a delicious new french restaurant in the desert).
  • We spent a quiet new year's at Sara & Rich's place. It was perfect for us. Our hosts were super responsive during our weekend stay. It was a great place to start the new year.

    JEAN-PIERRE2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sara and Rich were welcoming from the very beginning. They were quick to respond to my inquiry with an enthusiastic hello along with helpful feedback about sights to visit in the area. The information they provided was detailed and incredibly easy to understand. We received a map of local shops and restaurants in advance of our arrival, and they even mentioned the opportunity for us to see the rare blood moon, which we viewed from the veranda of the house. We had absolutely everything we needed at the house, and nothing that we didn't. Stepping into this historic place was nothing short of incredible. The house itself has so much character and a laid back vibe. What really set it apart were the special touches that Sara and Rich decorated the Joshua Tree house with. From the hammock in the master bedroom, to the artwork, to the local coffee, to the swinging chairs, to the record player.....!!!!! Quality work, you two. If and when I return to the area, I will positively stay with you again.

  • The Joshua Tree house was very well appointed and decorated with an attention to detail. The bedding was extremely comfy and it had everything you needed for a relaxing weekend escape.

  • My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights at Joshua House this month and had an amazing time. The house is super eclectic and quirky, very much to our liking. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was stocked with essentials. We brought our own food and cooked a few meals there, but also ate out at some of the JT restaurants that were all very good (and surprisingly super healthy) as well. The grounds to the house were awesome. Almost post-apocalyptic, complete with plenty of joshua trees, old beat up oil drums, fencing made from scraps of wood, signs and old shutters and even an old beauty salon chair sitting out back. The hot tub was great and super clean. We spent hours in it, with the color changing LEDs going while drinking wine and looking up at the stars. I can't report much on the bedrooms, only because there was a porch bed that we moved (carefully) to the open yard and slept under the stars both nights. It was simply incredible counting shooting stars before falling asleep. Cynthia, our host, was very friendly and gave us lots of tips on where to go to get food, drinks and some really great thrift store shopping. Joshua Tree National Park is only a few minutes away by car. We went once during the day and once at night. Both times taking some incredible photos of the magnificent desert, rock formations and my favorite, the pristine night sky, where you can see the Milky Way with your bare eyes. I have become a Joshua Tree believer. PS - I hear they might be renovating the house soon..I hope it does not change much, as we really enjoyed the overall feel it had. It was a great experience and I would love to come back again very soon.

  • Incredible house. Thoughtful curation. Pure Joshua Tree magic.

Appearing in numerous books on natural building, our cottage is a welcoming and cozy retreat hand sculpted of local, sustainable natural materials located on a lovely acreage with sheep, gardens and orchards.
Our neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. We are a ten minute walk from the beach and a twenty minute walk, in the other direction, to a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce, as well as galleries, a bookstore, and a spa.
  • The Cob Cottage is *exactly* what AirBnB is all about-- a window into another way of living that lets you experience, for a few days, what it might be like to, say, abandon your 9-to-5 and move to a remote Gulf Island. But the Cob is better than any ephemeral fantasy, because Alexis and Manny have done everything you could imagine to make all your vacation dreams come true. The Cob itself is a magical place, comfortable, cozy, and full of handicrafts and foraged natural objects; add to that Alexis and Manny's warm hospitality and generous supplies of homebaked bread, fresh eggs, seasonal floral bouquets, candles, music, good books, wood for the fireplace, etc. and you have the makings of a truly memorable stay. I can't say enough about our experience at the Cob Cottage-- if you want to unplug, breathe deeply, and reset, this is the place for you.

    Amanda2014-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great stay at the cob cottage! Not sure how it's possible, but it is even more beautiful than you could ever expect it to be. Every detail, from the vintage cocktail glasses to the perfectly curated book collection, was full of charm. We loved waking up the sheep and chickens outside our window in the morning. What a perfect getaway!

    Leah2018-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, it's hard to know where to begin. Our stay in the Cob Cottage was real magic. Alexis and Manny were such delightful hosts, they made us so comfortable during our stay and shared their helpful knowledge about the island. Every corner of the inside of the cob cottage feels just as it should be in terms of what you would hope a magical cob cottage would be designed like. And Mayne Island is truly a gem. We had a car with us, so this enabled us to explore every corner of the island. However coming here without a car would have its perks as well I can imagine. This was a stop along our honeymoon trip, and it will forever being remembered as being such a special place in our hearts. We hope to return one day! Also, this place made us so interested and intrigued with cob architecture--the cottage is truly worth a visit.

    Martina2015-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Manny and Alexis were great hosts and we really enjoyed our stay. We booked this place for our 10 year anniversary and weren't disappointed! A lovely setting, tucked into the back of there wonderful property on the quiet, peaceful Mayne Island. Cozy, filled with everything you need for a relaxing weekend. We were greeted with fresh banana bread, eggs and milk in the fridge. We also really appreciated help getting to and from the ferry. Thanks again!

    Tai & Kasia2016-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Alexis and her family were wonderful hosts. They had a last minute cancellation and they let us have a late checkout and were so accommodating. The place was absolutely perfect to boot.

    Audrey2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Oh how I wish I had the writing skills to express my feelings of the cottage, the property, the family, and the island! Do read all the beautiful reviews before my own. They have captured my own thoughts on this experience. Unique, private, peaceful. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this rental. It's truly a dream. A+ :) Highly recommended!

    Jillian2014-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Alexis and Manny's cob cottage on Mayne Island was fantastic! From the second you drive onto their farm you know you are going to be in for a calming, lovely, wonderful experience. The cob house is so charming and warm, as our the hosts! Still warm homemade bread welcoming our noses and appetites, fresh eggs, milk …and a friendly greeting from Alexis - what more could you want from a vacation? I will be back to stay in this lovely cob house to relax, renew, and revitalize. You should too!

    Maryann2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Alexis and Manny have created an enchanting space which invites you in and allows you to retreat into the calm and peacefulness of Mayne Island. Having the unique opportunity to stay in a cob house in such a beautiful location was an amazing experience. We loved the delicious welcoming gifts of food left for us and appreciated the wood left for the fire. Having treats to feed the sheep during their morning visit was both thoughtful and fun. The views from the windows to the colourful autumn trees were lovely. Mayne Island is a special place...the Japanese garden is breathtaking and was one of the highlights of our visit as were the many hiking trails and views. If you are fortunate enough to visit Mayne, do book with Alexis and Manny!

Enjoy peace, quiet, and beautiful views in Cazadero. For each rental, $50 will be donated to Raphael House, a San Francisco organization whose goal is to help at-risk families achieve stable housing and financial independence.
This little a-frame cabin would make a productive retreat for an artist, writer, or musician, or a romantic getaway. Surrounded by redwoods on a private road in Cazadero, my cabin is an hour and forty-five minutes north of San Francisco: a roughly ten-minute drive to the beautiful Sonoma Coast, and just fifteen minutes to Guerneville and wine country in the other direction. Head west and you’ll hit the charming town of Duncans Mills; go east to Monte Rio, and catch a movie at the historic Rio Theater. The full bed sleeps one or two comfortably. No TV or microwave; yes record player, wood-burning stove, equipped kitchen, and lots of cookbooks. The backyard is sunny and sloping with a view. There’s a table and bench on the deck for al fresco dining. And there’s speedy wireless Internet, too.
  • Rachel was super communicative. She provided a thorough and thoughtful manual to her home, as well as the surrounding area. I love to get outdoors and wander the woods and she helped me do that! The cabin is incredibly cute and simple. As a cabin should be. The wood burning stove, once roaring, is adequate - but the space heaters help. The kitchen was perfect for making some delicious meals at home. My favorite was waking up in the morning while the early light broke through the fog and filtered through the trees lit the steam rising from my coffee. Can't beat it.

    Jonathan2015-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's home was exactly what I expected it to be: a magical get-away. I absolutely loved the layout of her cabin and the natural light that came through the windows. I am use to back roads, so the drive out to the cabin was a blast for me. She communicated well and left detailed instructions, which I loved. The fireplace was a huge plus, considering it got a little chilly out there in the trees. If you are looking for a sweet romantic or spiritual get-away, this is it! Imagine yourself playing record after record, dancing in front of the fireplace and curling up on the couch. I definitely recommend this space to anyone who is looking for fun get-away.

    Mel2015-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what an awesome place!! So secluded, and just wonderful! I loved making Matt make a fire every night and keeping it going, as well as waking up to a beautiful view! We enjoyed dancing around to music played on the record player and chatting by fire and candle light when we had a two hour blackout! We loved every minute and kept wondering how we can possibly build an A frame house back in London! Thanks again, this place is highly, highly recommended, we stayed three nights and would have happily stayed more!

    Eloise2014-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Unlike (Hidden by Airbnb) listings, the house actually looked just like the photos. Quaint space with a terrific book and record collection to match. Rachel was very hospitable and accommodating. I'd definitely recommend this stay to a friend!

    Kayla2014-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I have been visting this area for years and couldn't dream up a more perfect atmosphere. If you're looking to relax by a fire nestled in the redwoods surrounded by all the beauty you can handle while listening to one of the most perfectly currated record collections around, then do yourself a favor and book a stay at Rachel's A-Frame! Conveniently located within 10-15 mins of any outdoor adventure imaginable. Beautiful beaches, hikes, bike rides, restaurants, wine and loads more. P.S. If I were a Silicon Valley tech guru I'd hack in and erase the negative comment below. ABSURD. A+++++

    Brandon2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's cabin served as the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. We were lucky enough to get a small rain storm which provided a lovely sound on the A-frame roof. The location is a great balance for staying amongst the trees but only being a short drive from the coast. I would certainly recommend a stay here and hope to return sometime soon!

    Nick2015-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house!

    Jennifer2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Rachel's cabin was absolutely perfect! The cabin was spotless and stocked with books, records, games. We listened to tons of records. Rachel's communication before our stay and during was very timely and helpful. It feels secluded yet Guerneville is right down the road for groceries and supplies. Hope to stay here again sometime!

The Off-grid itHouse brings together raw industrial aesthetics with the tactics of green design to forge a new home in the sunbaked wilds of the California high desert.
The Off-grid itHouse is an architecturally significant house, recently noted by Dwell as one of the 'Best Homes in America' and in the Los Angeles Times as one of the best houses of all time in Southern California. The Off-grid itHouse is one of 10 IT Houses built in California, which have received much acclaim such as the Western Home award sponsored by Sunset magazine. Also noted as one of the top 10 airbnb rentals worldwide. This is the prototype for the pre-engineered system known as the IT House. The house is 100% off-grid, powered by solar panels for energy and hot water, and is located in a pristine remote valley in the beautiful California high desert. The house observes key green principals of smaller footprint, minimal disturbance to the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, use of renewable resources, and living simply and minimally. The setting of the house is remote and serene, a quiet refuge from everything, free from distractions. Amazing views and vistas in all directions. Perfect for design or green aficionados, writers or those needing a secluded quiet getaway.
Located in Pioneertown, CA, nearby several unique attractions, Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy and Harriets Pioneertown Palace, local museums and art venues such as the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, the Integratron, and other seasonal events.
  • Living in Chicago, there is rarely a moment kept from the sound of laughter, anger, love, and life. Even when I sleep, the humming of cars and trains continuously flow from the street into my bed into my dreams. This transparent house, 30 minutes outside of Joshua Tree, provided isolation I unknowingly needed, a break from mind pollution caused by constant distraction. On the thick silence of the surrounding desert, I spread my thoughts and reconnected with my family and myself. We cooked kebabs on the grill, hiked over the surrounding hills, and watched the sun swim across a sky full of stars and colors. These were days we will remember fondly forever.

  • I can only echo everyone else - and say that this is a beautiful and magical spot. Lovely spot. Lovely Home. Wonderful books to read. Immaculate taste. Wonderful spots to visit nearby. Amazing setting. We had an easy and restorative trip away from the city. Really a great stay.

    Cindy2013-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • As a couple we shared such a magical weekend stay. Every aspect of this house down to the tiniest detail was perfect. We almost want to keep it a secret! Will definitely be planning many more stays in future. Joshua Tree itself was an unforgettable experience. Be sure to plan a few days for the National Park! Cannot stress being mindful about the water and power for future guests, be aware that usage is limited so plan accordingly. Also there didn't seem to be a freezer so stick to bringing/ buying refrigerated goods. In colder months bring plenty of firewood for the indoor and outdoor fireplaces to enjoy the beauty surrounding the house. Looking forward to returning!

  • Couldn't have asked for a better home and host than Linda and her fantastic off-grid itHouse. It comes highly recommended especially for those appreciative of amazing design and architecture. Can't wait for a return visit!

    Michelle2014-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This house is absolutely magnificent. I didn't want to leave. The surrounding environment is stunningly beautiful. A place where you can truly unplug and reconnect with your soul. Everything was explained thoroughly by Linda and our check-in/stay was seamless and void of confusion or mishaps. I can't wait to return to this magical place.

    Nicholas2014-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's home is extraordinary and deserves all of the glowing reviews to date. From the secluded location and gorgeous external landscape, to the impeccable, minimalist design aesthetic of the interior, I would highly recommend this amazing place for a desert getaway. Beyond enjoying the panoramic views and hiking in the immediate vicinity, you don't need much else in the way of entertainment, but the house also boasts a thoughtful, well-stocked kitchen, a great book collection (particularly exciting selection if you too are a visual artist), board games, and two different fireplaces. Linda is a gracious host, responding quickly and providing a nice welcome packet of info for the house and surrounding area. We were sad to leave, and hope to visit again.

    Robyn2014-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place was scenic and deafeningly silent. Only a couple of times another quad/vehicle would drive up the road, but besides that there wasn’t any noise. It’s a great place to get off the grid. My Verizon iPhone got no reception and my girlfriends AT&T got minimal reception if you walked up the hill a bit to the water solar panel. The place stayed well ventilated with a gentle cross breeze when you opened up the sliding doors. At night it was a little chilly (February), but the fireplace in the main room and an extra blanket kept us plenty warm. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay an extra night (stayed for 2). We arrived after sundown on the first night and the place was still easy to find ( (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps). Make sure to download the map before heading there for offline mode.

  • Inga's place was absolutely amazing from the start. The view was unbeatable and inside was clean, modern and comforting. She provided us with every thing we could possibly need. The location was close to the city but far enough into quiet nature. Absolutely recommend for a stay in Akureyri.

  • We had a great stay in Akureyri. The apartment is very cute, and very accessible from both the airport and town. On the second night there we were treated to a northern lights display, and didn't even have to leave the porch! The bed was quite comfortable, and we were able to make all of our meals at the apartment, which was very helpful for staying under budget. In-floor heating made the house nice and toasty, and no cold feet! The area is very quiet, the only nights we heard any noise was when the apartment adjacent tours was occupied.

  • One of the best place when i lived )

    Elnar2016-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great, the view is absolutely amazing and definitely worth the stay on its own. The apartment was awesome as well, and we had a great time here. Inga was great at communicating to us what we needed to know and we would definitely recommend anyone to stay here and would love to come back some day.

  • This listing is one of my favorite places on earth. We planned our whole holidays in Iceland around it and it held every promises. The place is beautiful like on the pictures, the interior design is done with great taste and attention to details. Everything is kept very clean and tidy. The kitchen is just perfect and has everything you could need, the beds are super comfortable and that view from the balcony will stay in our memories forever. We got the chance to enjoy stunning Northern Lights while enjoying a tasty glass of wine from the bottles that wait for you in fridge. Stunning. Petur and his wife are exceptional at hosting you with class and dealt with last minute minor issues with elegance. The whole place has a great soul and the energy flows nicely. More than a simple house, it is a place you can have the chance to call home for a few days. Don't miss it!

    Michel2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wow ! Totally amazing! The place is so wonderful. We were two adults and two children (11 years old) It's was absolutely perfect. The view is spectacular. We saw Northern Lights all the evening, Akureyri is also a beautiful village. I recommend to everybody.

casaBARTHEL is a perfect place for a vacation and an artist residency, immersed in the Tuscan landscape only twenty minutes’ from the Duomo and one hour from Siena. Come and live with us: enjoy our olive trees, the kitchen garden, the tennis court and the small swimming pool. The TREEhouse is a romantic room immersed in the pine trees with fire place for the winter and AC for the summer. It offers a bedroom with a queen size bed, a small kitchenette with stove and fridge; a bathroom with shower, and a private outdoor terrace. And a fantastic view towards the Tuscan landscape! And if you want to see and know more about our passion for the interior design, the arts and crafts, and antiques you should come visit our design and make shop ‘Riccardo Barthel’ in Via dei Serragli n. 234 r, in the Santo Spirito district of Florence! At the beginning of the 1980 our family moved into the ‘Poggio Secco’ (Dry Hill) farmhouse, just outside Florence city center, in front of the Certosa dell’Ema. The compound had a big stone villa surrounded by olive trees, a compost hub, a pigeon house, a barn, a tall cypress tree and an old German shepherd dog. Everything in the farm was placed around a large terracotta courtyard, a sort of public square. Thirty years later the ‘Dry Hill’ is still our home and a small community that includes my mum Daniela, my brother Francesco and his wife Maria, aunt and uncle Sandra and Nanni, the 90 year old grandmother Emilia, me and my husband Andrew. We all live here sharing the same love for the countryside, its olive oil, good food and the family lifestyle! The rent includes the use of the communal swimming pool and the tennis court; the dining porch with the BBQ and the wooden oven; dryer and washer; table tennis and football table, plus a car parking inside the property. We are glad to interact with our guests; you will be part of our large family! Galluzzo is a nice small village with everything you need:crocery stores and a nice farmers market open every day.

  • Amazing! Such an experience to share with my family. Breath taking views of Florence, and perfectly manicured grounds! Host was extremely accommodating and friendly. Only negative was that we only had one night!

    Andrew2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Waking up to the beautiful Tuscan views and morning sunlight in this stunning tree house was one of the best experiences of our trip. It felt so special and magical. Elena and Daniela were incredibly friendly and hospitable. This beautiful oasis is not to be missed!

Charming and romantic,' Round' Cottage on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Formerly, the cottage was sculptor Henry Hudson Kitson's summer studio on the Santarella Estate. The two-story cottage has a charming bedroom with 35 foot high conical ceiling with canopied bed upstairs with views through massive, multi-paned "mill windows" to the trees and sky and out to the lily pond. The downstairs sitting room looks out on the babbling brook and lovely gardens.
Now open year-round! Charming, One Bedroom Cottage, former sculpting studio on the Santarella Estate in Tyringham, MA. Known as the "Silo Studio" Cottage. There is a bedroom with canopied queen bed upstairs and a sitting room with window bench-seat, coffee table, table and chairs, kitchenette area with wet bar with Micro/Fridge coffeemaker, toaster and bathroom with shower are downstairs. Fall asleep to sounds of the babbling brook and views to pond and forest from the large screened openings upstairs, like living in a "tree-house". Accommodates two only, fully furnished, all linens, towels included. There is Satellite DTV and Wireless Internet on site. The cottage is situated on four acres including lovely gardens, beautiful lily pond, running brooks and 2 acre woods. Absolutely unique, one-of-a-kind experience! Please Note, the cottage has traditionally been a three season rental from approximately March- November, however, due to much interest and demand, we have recently added a larger capacity pellet stove and made winterizing efforts and plan on keeping it open for guests interested in a winter experience in the cottage! Please keep in mind that access to our grounds may be limited with the accumulation of snow in winter months. During predicted extreme weather events, we will gladly work with guests to change reservations as we are always concerned for their comfort! Our lovely grounds are open to our guests. There are garden paths, babbling brook with stone bridges, loveliest of lily ponds, stone bench seating area with 'chiminea' and firewood for guest's use. There are two acres of woods with a loop trail as well. The town has an exceptionally beautiful Swimming Pond about 2 miles away which our guests may use. There are BBQs and picnic tables and it is often deserted. While we do have a pet friendly policy, prior approval and acceptance of our rules and policies is required before a pet may stay with you in our accommodations. There is also a $25.00 additional pet cleaning charge. The cottage is located on the Santarella Estate surrounded by gardens and storybook architecture. Santarella is located in the Tyringham Valley, tucked away 3.5 miles from Mass. I-90, a lovely and magical place where one feels like they have stepped back in time. This is definitely a place to 'get away from it all', enjoy quiet, rural surroundings close to the Appalachian Trail and Tyringham Cobble for hiking and many lovely ponds for swimming or kayaking. Vehicle is necessary. Grocery and other shopping at 3.5 miles.
Tyringham Valley was one of the original settlements in Western Massachusetts. It is mostly agricultural conserved land giving it a very rural, bucolic and idyllic character. The lovely 'Hop Brook' runs through the middle of the valley which is sparsely populated with mostly historic homes, making one feel like they have stepped back in time. An original, beautifully preserved Shaker settlement sits on top of the hillside opposite Santarella, overlooking it. At the far end of the valley, the gracious columns of the burned Ashintully mansion overlook the entire valley and are all that remain of the gilded-age estate which has beautiful preserved formal gardens, great to visit and hike. The Appalachian Trail is 2.25 miles from the cottage.
  • We had a magical stay on Denise's fairy tale property. The garden and pond are magnificent and the bedroom was beautiful. The perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary!

    John2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is basically a dream come true. It's beautiful beyond belief, literally situated right next to a babbling brook complete with frogs, birds and fireflies. A really special place to stay.

    Claire2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The silo cottage was absolutely breathtaking. It was private, romantic, and charming beyond belief. For a getaway to the mountains when you want to relax and rest while still being close to restaurants and Tanglewood, I can't think of a better spot.

    Carissa2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had an enjoyable, cozy stay on a few cold winter days; the tiny house was comfortable and charming and by far one of the most unique places I have ever stayed.

    Maureen2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • It is one of the most beautiful and romantic place I have ever stayed at. There is no doubt that I will go back when I get a chance. Lee is a quiet fascinating place to live where makes me want to settle down. I spent a birthday with my partner there and had a truly memorable time. Denis even prepared us a Champaign in the fridge for celebration. The cottage is super cozy and intimate. It's a place people only see in their dream. You will be able to enjoy the pretty private garden outside of the cottage and wake up with the bird singing outside of your windows. Denis showed us around the Santarella house, which is a wonderful place for wedding choice. Everything is perfect during the stay. The only thing that makes me feel bad is that the two-day stay was too short for me! Cannot wait to revisit Denis!

    Sylvia2014-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • A little Lilliputian lullaby of a place done in "storybook" architecture and a delight to behold. Denise was lovely, the gardens Englishy, the whole place a step into the pages of a child's tale. On a bucolic country byway, away from the madding crowds. Actually, in the Berkshires there is hardly a crowd. Close to gorgeous Tanglewood, where you can picnic while listening to the Boston Symphony practice, all the charming towns, museums, The Red Lion Inn, and too many wonderful things to list. Truly, a special place.

    Giorgianna2014-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Denise and her husband greeted us on arrival and were very welcoming. The cottage is utterly charming and very cozy! The heated mattress pad kept us warm even though we left the shutters open to hear the crickets and frogs in the pond. It was lovely to spend the weekend surrounded by such beautiful greenery.

    Erin2015-08-10T00:00:00Z

  • A lovely stay in a beautiful setting. I want to live in the windmill!

    Jasmine2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing Experience. When we got to know Clare did the design herself, just one word "impressive".

    Cyan2015-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The space was so amazing - luxurious, intimate, a perfect getaway. All the amenities we could want or need were provided during our stay. The space is exactly as described both in the written description and the pictures. The history of the windmill only adds to its utterly unique charm. Clare was such a gracious host and accommodated our changing schedules. She provided lots of helpful suggestions for the local area (trains, taxis, pub, hikes, etc.) that proved to be tremendously helpful given our lack of familiarity with the area. I wholeheartedly recommend this place without any reservation to all.

    Jennifer2013-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Since returning from the Old Smock Windmill, we haven't stopped telling everyone about it! It is truly amazing and we had the most perfect stay. Clare has renovated the windmill beautifully, with immaculate attention to detail. It's incredibly cosy and we felt at home as soon as we walked in. Clare is a wonderful and friendly host, providing us with a welcome basket of organic eggs and fresh local produce on arrival, as well as a brief history of the windmill which was great. I can't recommend the old smock windmill more - two nights was definitely not long enough!

    Nathalie2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely stay at this wonderfully restored windmill. Such a lovely place for a relaxing weekend away. Can't wait to go back!

    Harry2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about this beautiful windmill - the pictures despite being great really don't do the place justice. Clare has done a fabulous job bringing it to life, a place with real character, we didn't want to leave. The little details made our stay extra special, a welcome basket, fresh flowers, tips for places to visit, Neals Yard handwash! An amazing place for a relaxing break, surrounded by stunning Kent countryside - perfect for 2 + bump...we'll be back :)

    Renata2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the windmill. From the moment we arrived Clare was extremely hospitable from the small touches of fresh eggs, homemade bread, fruit and milk that was left for us, to her sharing of the knowledge of the windmill and local area. You'll not want to leave this oasis of calm. Thanks again Clare!

    Ashley2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • My review to you is the same as I gave Clare and wrote in the guest book. From the moment we arrived and met Clare to the Neil's Yard toiletries, White Company bedding and the foodie gift left on the dining table we couldn't fault anything about our time in the mill. The weather wasn't kind but it was January in rural Kent so what do you expect! The location was superb as was the local pub in Benenden Village, The Bull where we spent two culinary evenings with the help of the lovely Landlord and his staff, you must pay him a visit. Thanks again Clare !

Red cinder leads you through the dense jungle to your secluded bamboo treehouse. Nestled on top of stilts 15' up in the canopy of the local flora, ascend to your retreat via the trapdoor or begin your adventure in Volcano National Park 10 miles away.
Upon arrival, let the red cinder path be your yellow brick road as you are lead through the jungle to your personal paradise. At ground level you will encounter a hanging bed, suspended beneath the floor of your new living quarters. Stop and relax or continue up the staircase to the trapdoor. It is through this trapdoor that you are allowed access to the lanai amongst the canopy of trees. A beautiful wrap around lanai allows for a 360 degree view of the lush jungle, while two sliding glass doors grant access to the bedroom. Upon entering, you will notice that the generous windows and doors allow for natural sunlight to flood into the house, complementing the bamboo fixtures and vintage 1970s wallpaper that backs the bed. The white bed linens reflect the light giving a dreamy, cloud-like aura to the space. There is counter stocked with a local coffee and snacks nestled into a corner of the house and overlooked by the handcrafted porthole windows. Bamboo backed cubby holes and hangers furnish the wall behind you and create an elegant, minimalist closet space for you to store your personal items for the duration of your stay. Just past the closet is a sliding door that accesses one of the most fun areas of the house: the bathroom. The bathroom jalousie windows stretch from the floor to the ceiling and the horizontal glass plates open up, creating an indoor-outdoor effect. Naturally caught rainwater cascades from the large shower head above before disappearing into the floor boards below. You'll notice that the natural theme spills over into the bathroom with sustainable cork board backing the shower and air plants intermittently growing throughout. The toilet and hand-made rock sink in the corner make use of grey water eco-principles by allowing you to wash your hands with fresh water before it goes on to fill the bowl. One of the most fun aspects of this property is that it allows you the opportunity to experience true off-grid living without sacrificing any of the comforts of normal life. Natural lighting, solar power and rain water catchment are the three principles that have been integrated into this tree top design, making it almost like a living organism itself. The beauty of this high flying haven is in the details. I spent the better part of three months personally constructing the building as well as the accessories inside. My goal was to create a customized and secluded space for your occasion. The chandelier, hanging lights, port-hole windows, rock sink and platform bed were all DIY projects that I specifically created to enhance your experience. The bamboo pillars that 'support' the lanai and the moss carpet under the hanging bed were harvested from local areas on the Big Island. IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE MAKING A RESERVATION Don't worry, the capital letters are just to emphasize importance. I'm not mad at you. But please read this entire section before making a reservation. As lush and inviting as the Dreamy Tropical Treehouse is, there are inevitable 'challenges' that come with staying in an off-grid treehouse in the Hawaiian jungle. My goal is give you an experience that combines adventure and luxury so I want to make sure that you are aware of the following things: 1. The treehouse is about 15-feet off the ground and is only accessible by the 'ladder-stairs'. 'Ladder-stairs' is just another way of saying 'very steep' stairs. There is a hand railing and none of my visitors have ever had a problem going up and down. There is a pulley system for hoisting up your bags. Only those who believe they are physically capable should book a stay. Just remember to go up and down facing them... like a ladder! 2. The running water comes from the rain falling on the roof and is not treated; therefore, the water is not potable. I will provide several bottles of drinking water. 3. The electricity you use is generated by sunlight and is stored in a battery. Once the battery runs out of power it has to recharge. This shouldn’t happen but just be mindful not to leave lights or power hungry items running for extended periods of time (No hairdryers). The windows allow for plenty of light during the day. 4. This is the rainy side of the Big Island so expect some showers! Realize that the pitter-patter on the roof is the rain's first stop on its journey to the water tanks and then to your shower. Also notice how warm it is. Don't think of rain as a trip ruiner but instead an asset to be enjoyed! 5. There are bugs but this isn't the Amazon. For such a tropical climate you will be surprised at how few bugs there are. The main things you will see are moths, fruit flies (due to fruit falling off of the trees) and mosquitoes. Bug repellent is provided but it never hurts to bring your own. They really don't get that bad but their presence increases after a hard rain and during the twilight hours. Luckily, the hanging bed has mosquito netting that drapes down to encompass it. 6. Noises. Living off-grid in the jungle also brings about its own set of noises. The water pump and solar inverter will make soft noises throughout the day as they are used. The falling fruit from the vivie trees can also be alarming if you don't know what it is, and at night you are going to be serenaded by the sweet chirping of coqui frogs. Rustling branches, grunts and squeals typically means that the cute family of wild pigs is nearby. They are harmless and will runoff as soon as they sense your presence. Quietly grab the binoculars and, if you are lucky, may catch a glimpse of them! All of these aspects are what makes this place so unique and, with the right mindset, only enhance your overall experience. Guests have free range to fully utilize every aspect of the house. The hanging bed, wrap-around porch, indoor-outdoor shower and closet are at your full disposal. I have recently installed a kitchenette that has a sink, cooler for storing food/drinks, and a coffee maker (also capable of heating up water). Any and all goodies stocked in the house are there for your enjoyment. Here is a more comprehensive list of amenities and features that will be available to you: •Indoor/Outdoor Shower •Toilet with Overlaid Sink •Organic Shampoo/Conditioner •Towels •Ample Parking •Tiki Torch ‘Flashlights’ •Hanging Bed •Table and Chairs for Lanai •Binoculars •Several Books •Outlets (3-prong and USB) •Kitchen Sink •Coffee Maker •Clean Linens •Gramophone Music Player for iPhones •Cooler for Food/Drink •Card Game Guest interaction can be tailored to your needs. My goal is to make sure your stay is unforgettable so you can always contact me via phone or email. Because I do not live on the island year round, a local neighbor can assist you if you have any problems that need tending to. Upon your arrival I can arrange to have someone greet you and show you the property or simply stow away the key for your convenience. The choice, of course, is yours. Even though I am not on site, I can always be reached. Feel free to call/text/email me at any time during your stay should the unlikely event that a problem arises. I will immediately contact the proper authority to have the problem remedied. The treehouse is located at the end of a neighborhood street making it very private. It is set about 50 yards off the street behind a windy, jungle path further adding to your privacy. There are only about five full time neighbors scattered throughout the neighborhood so don't expect to see a lot of people. The treehouse is about 20 miles from Hilo, 23 miles from Pahoa, 12 miles from Keaau and 8 miles from Volcano. Volcano is the closest place for laundry, good restaurants and groceries, though you will pay a little more for the groceries than in Hilo or Keaau. I recommend you stop on your way in from Hilo. When you book I will include a guidebook that has the locations, hours and prices of local restaurants and grocery stores. There is quick access to highway 11 and it is 10 miles from Volcanoes National Park. Numerous opportunities for sightseeing and adventures are within a 40 minute drive of this treehouse paradise and they will be included in my guest guidebook as well. This is the ultimate spot for couples seeking romantic seclusion in the middle of a tropical jungle or individuals who want to escape the world. Unless you feel like hitchhiking, you will definitely need a rental car to comfortably explore the surrounding areas and access the treehouse. While nothing is 'far' on the big island, everything is just a bit out of reach by foot... except of course for those lovely, yet dense, jungle strolls. • The property was perfect. Set among a lush secluded backdrop, this "off the grid" tree house provided all of the comforts of home. So much attention to detail has been put into this place, and it makes for a perfect getaway for couples, and individuals alike.

  • Kristie did an amazing job in keeping us in the loop on our request to stay at the Tree House from start to finish. The videos and write up guide book were fantastic resources and made for an easy arrival and gave an on-spot accurate glimpse of the place. We stayed 3 nights here and 4 nights in Holualoa (Kona side) which was a great way to split up the sightseeing. LOVED the Tree House. TIPS: 1) we had a Jeep and although the gravel/dirt road getting to the tree house was fine (any rental car would make it), there are a couple of big deep puddles that made us happy to be in higher vehicle. 2) We bought a styrofoam cooler at walmart Kona that we kept in the car and carried up. It seemed to keep ice better than the cooler at the Tree House. 3) We love our cocktails (hence the need for ice) and were happy with the glasses/knife provided - along with all the "treats" that came with the house 4) We were happy we brought a flashlight. The swing (trap) door lock is a bit hard to see when coming home after dark 5) speaking of the swing (trap) door... important to note it is a bit heavy especially the first time using it. Thereafter it was fine, but the first time was a doozy. Just know it will be heavy and that you have to really swing it all the way up. (not a bother or deterrent - just took us by surprise that first time) 6) we thought off-the-grid would also mean no cell coverage... we have ATT iphone 4S's and had no problem connecting (note: not speaking of wifi just data coverage) 7) the house shakes a bit when other person is walking - it's not an earthquake and you get used to it 8) Don't forget your National Park Pass! It was so great to be so close to Volcano Nat Park. BONUS NOTE: the water pressure is AMAZING for a tree house! Taking a hot shower with that natural cork wall was a highlight. Loved all the decor and touches around the house. Bed was extremely comfy for us. Don't let the rain stop you from coming here. It was wonderful to just listen to the rain at night with the frogs serenading us. It's hard to compare the cost/value for the tree house Hilo Side vs. rental on Kona Side. We had a fantastic house rental in Holualoa for the same amount as the tree house. Not sure what you can compare it to, but comparing the two rentals we had, the price here was a tad high. However, the unique factor here with the remoteness and architecture design definitely has a wow factor.

  • The treehouse was amazing and a perfect place for us to get away during our honeymoon! Kristie had amazing advice and the place was so cute! Road is a little rough getting to the treehouse but nothing a car can't handle! Just drive slow! So romantic and it was amazing to fall asleep to all the sounds!

    Courtney2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, we loved it. Hilo and the surrounding area is amazing, however it is not exactly perfect weather year round as described in the listing. It rains about 275 days a year, which isn't a problem at all, but it can get down to high 50s, low 60s on a rainy day. This means that it's good to bring some warm clothes, just as a precaution, nothing more than a light jacket, and pants. With this being said, the treehouse is very well built, a one-of-a-kind experience, and located very close to Volcano and many other activities/awesome things to do.

    Karis2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely treehouse! It's dreamy, relaxing and beautiful as we imagined! My husband and I enjoyed every minute! We would definitely come back in a heartbeat!

  • (Website hidden by Airbnb) The treehouse was beyond our imagination. Kristie has thought about every single detail possible and we had the best time. Couldn't recommend this more for a getaway and escape. Only problem is that you won't see much of Hawaii as you will not want to leave!

    Martin2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Kristie was extremely helpful and very responsive throughout our stay. The tree house was an amazing experience and a wonderful taste of what off the grid living can be like!

    Molly2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This most amazing tree house provided an exquisite experience and made me think more about sustainability and the environment. Down to the wooden door handles and gorgeous blend of comfort and practicality, this place has it all and is situated very close to Volcano Park. We loved this house so much that we want to find other places to stay in this fashion. Kristie has thought of everything, and responded right away to any questions we had. This truly magical house comes highly recommended by us!

*This cabin was featured in the New York Times in January, 2017. * A magical homesteader cabin embedded in 5 acres of unfenced Joshua Tree desert wilderness, 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. Experience peace, quiet, wildlife and STARS—on the grid but off the pavement.
If this cabin is booked on your dates, check out our other two cabins nearby ("Homestead Camp Cabin in Joshua Tree" and "Midcentury Prefab Homesteader Cabin") *** If you would like to use our cabin as a shooting location please get in touch to discuss our rates, otherwise we do not allow commercial or professional shooting of any kind (photo, video, film) during your stay. Thank you in advance! *** The restored cabin, which has been featured in the New York Times 'T' travel magazine, Wilder Quarterly, The Weekender and the book 'Jackrabbit Homestead,' was constructed in 1955 and still has its original green paint. Joshua Tree National Park is a 15 minute drive from the cabin. The Integratron and Giant Rock are also 15 minutes away. The cabin is less than two miles from artist Noah Purifoy's famous sculpture garden site. Two miles in the other direction is Dhamma Dena, teacher Ruth Denison's Vipassana Buddhist center. The always swinging Pappy & Harriet's BBQ and music roadhouse in beautiful Pioneertown is a 30-minute drive. The Lou Harrison House, which hosts occasional devotional, folk and avant garde music events in an intimate setting is less than 10 minutes away. We will be happy to give you directions to each of these unique places (and many others) that we frequent ourselves. The cabin sits on 5 acres, and feels remote, but it's just 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. You will travel a few miles on a secure, hard dirt road to get here. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic sunset and sunrise—as well as a blanket of stars. In the wintertime, you can build a fire too. Sleep comfortably in a queen-sized bed. The renovated interior has a cookware-outfitted kitchen and dining area. There is an outhouse with a dry toilet and roofless shower a few yards from the cabin. Wireless internet is available if you require a connection to the digital world. The cabin is equipped with air conditioning. The cabin is located next to BLM land and a wildlife corridor, which means you will witness these wild animals in their native habitat. The cottontail rabbits, cactus wrens, lizards, desert tortoises, jackrabbits, coyotes, owls and roadrunners (and more!) that make the desert their home make a visit to this serene cabin all the more special. Guests may have freshly prepared organic juices made by local juice cleanse guru Angela de la Agua delivered to the cabin. A menu/pricelist is available upon request. Please note that we have a TW0-NIGHT MINIMUM stay, and a THREE-NIGHT MINIMUM FOR HOLIDAY WEEKENDS. This requirement allows us to keep our rates low, so that the greatest number of folks get a chance to experience being here in the unfenced desert, under the Milky Way. We donate 2.5% of our proceeds to the Mojave Desert Land Trust, an excellent local non-profit organization devoted to protecting the Mojave Desert ecosystem and its scenic and cultural resource values.
  • Jay and Stephanie were great hosts! Very accommodating, yet you'd barely know that they were there. We felt like we had our very own cabin on our very own amazing plot in Joshua Tree! The cabin is very comfortable, simple, and nicely decorated, and only 10 minutes from the park. The hammock is a must. We had a fantastic time for a birthday getaway and would love to go back for another stay.

    Matthew + Elizabeth2011-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Unforgettable experience! We enjoyed the dark blue sky and the stars, the deep silent during the day, the wind and the sounds of animals at night, the charming basic interiors and the essential life of the cabine. We loved the wildness of the desert! Even the open air shower and toilet were somehow special. We absolutely loved our stay. Jay is a great host, easy to communicate with prior to our arrival. It was super super easy to get to the cabine by car (getting there before dark). Thanks to Jay's directions we got there with no problem. No need of aircon, on the contrary we experienced a bit of cold during the night. We also saw a coyote in the early morning...The most beautiful sunset and dawn of Cali! Do not miss a dinner at Poppy and Harriet, amazing authentic BBQ place with music and pool, you will love it!

  • Staying at this homesteader cabin was great! Jay was easy to get in touch with, and the cabin comes equipped with everything you need for a little getaway, including cooking utensils, dishes, coffee grinder and french press! There are many thoughtful details too, like a map of the constellations, playing cards, magazines and a lovely hammock. The cabin has a beautiful and uninterrupted view of the desert. It was very peaceful to lounge out on the porch and watch the desert wildlife, and then the shooting stars. We also really appreciated that Jay and Steph have a mission for sustainability and conservation with their cabins and land in Joshua Tree. Thanks guys and hope to stay in touch! October 2013

  • This was our first Airbnb experience. Jay was awesome, he was very flexible and communicative. He was welcoming and could give you lots of useful information for the area. This homesteading cabin was super cool! It had everything we needed and was very cozy. We were very comfortable and happy to see our 9 month old son felt the same. I loved the desert evening sky and it's cool desert funk! We would definitely stay again!!!

  • Why are you reading this review?!! You are wasting precious time and energy, that could be better spent typing in your credit card numbers to book this place. Just look at the millions of positive reviews they already have (don't waste time on the actual reviews, just look at the number), and click through the pics. SOLD! The place is amazing and true to the images. The interesting outdoor shower and toilet are clean, easy to operate and the bed is VERY comfortable. That's all the extra info you need. Now get to organizing your trip. Stat.

  • Very nice and understanding hosts. Made sure we had everything at check-in and were just a phone call away if we needed anything. Simplicity is king at cabin. Has all the things you need, but is still rustic. It is far enough from town to get away, but close enough if you should need anything. We had a nice stay and would recommend it to anyone that needs to relax and take a little time to themselves.

    Rob & Elsa2014-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie and Jay’s cabin is a beautiful, transformative place. The location is perfectly secluded, the vistas are stunning—the perfect place for a short retreat from the world.

    Peter2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time at the Homesteader, and again we loved it. Not only the cabin, the desert, the cosiness, but the entire concept of Jay and Stephanie is great. Jay welcomed us at the cabin and showed us around. Everything was exactly as described and just perfect ! There are lots of places to visit, to eat, stores, coffee shops and even an organic store. The only thing we regret is staying only 2 days. We will definitely be back.

  • Had a very comfortable stay at Love villa 4, with the feeling of staying at a friends home. The location is great, a short walk to the beach, shopping and restaurants, but tucked away in a quiet Laneway. Robyn and Richard have supplied all the comforts you will need including drinking water, and insect repellent (both important for your stay). Manager, Erni, is extremely helpful. Be prepared for the sound of scurrying on the roof at night (nothing gets in though). Would stay again.

    Simon2016-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Robin’s place is beautiful and close to the beach and restaurants. Erin (the manager) helped us when my bank card was swallowed by the atm and arranged a cooking course for us to join when it was raining!

    Natasha2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very lovely 5 day stay at Love Villa 4! The place is very homely and perfectly clean. Ernie was there to meet us on our arrival and made her best efforts to ensure we were happy and comfortable at all times. Thank you for your kind hospitality.

An ancient trullo surrounded by panoramic contryside , away from the noise. Just relax, time taken lying on the hammock or a dip in our cristalline sea and in the evening a great apulian dinner in nearby villages. simple and authentic things
Trullo aromativc green is a 300 year old building, with the traditional "trullo" cones of this region of Puglia. Trullo is situated on the west facing slope of a delightfully quiet valley with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and ideal place for relaxing and is beautiful to explore on foot or by bicycle. The property has been designed to be beautiful, comfortable and environmentally friendly. Solar power is used for hot water and and waste water is re-used (please use the organic bodycare and cleaning products provided). In cooler months, heating and the woodburning stove will keep you warm. The trullo's traditional thick walls and high ceilings keep it cool in summer. And through the marvels of technology, a wifi connection is now available in this idyllic rural setting. The surrounding grounds are maintained organically. Set in four acres, Trullo aromatic green provides the space and tranquillity for real relaxation. Amongst the 110 olive trees are many almonds, walnuts, fig, cherries, apple, pear and mulberry trees, providing a garden banquet that guests can feast on. Produce from the land, including olive oil, is provided for your enjoyment at the property, and available to take home. At the front of the house is a large dining table under a shady gazebo. Nearby there is a barbecue . A large terrace is available to enjoy the landscape from a new perspective. Comfortably furnished, it's the perfect place for sundowners or digestifs. There is also an ancient aia where you just relax on a hammock. The kitchen inside is equipped to the standard that you would expect from this impressive property. I expect that you will dine outside most of the time, but if the weather turns, or you fancy a change, the intimate dining room will delight you. The living room provides ample space for everyone to relax. Enjoy the sound system - Bose iPod docking station and CD player - or watch a film on the Tv. A wood burning stove will warm the spirits in the cooler months. The bedrooms: there are one double bedroom and one can be configured as double or twins. They all have their own shower room and bathroom. Two miles away, in a small town called Casalini you can find everything you might need (delicatessen, supermarket, wine cellar, bar, newsagent, butcher, post office) Puglia and Trullo aromatic green will delight you throughout the year. Each season brings its own climate, festivals and produce. In April the days are warm, but Puglia is still quiet. So you would have a great time to explore the surrounding towns, markets and scenery. There are many festival processions over Easter. On May soft fruits such as cherries, mulberries and fiorone (early figs) are in abundance, markets are full of spring vegetables and the fields are full of wild flowers. This is a fantastic season. On June enjoy the countryside and the beaches before the crowds arrive. Days are pleasantly warm, and the nights clear. On July the real start of summer. Enjoy a day on the beach l, followed by a summer festa or concert. Famous classical concerts in nearby Martina Franca run from mid July to mid August. Finally on August explore the beaches and get plenty of rest during the day to ensure you are full of energy for the many festivals that take place throughout the region during summer. On September as the blazing heat of high summer subsides, enjoy pleasant days and some spill-over festivals such as the Jazz festival in Lecce, or buskers in Martina Franca. Places to Go Puglia offers a wealth of diversions; two coast lines, a vast number of hill towns each with their own characteristics, and always beautiful, rugged scenery with knarled olive trees, spring flowers, red soil and acres of vineyards. There will be plenty of information available to you on arrival (or booking, if you prefer) including recommendations and directions for your days out. Local Hill Towns Ceglie Messapica is just 10 kilometres from trulo aromatic green i, and provides all the amenties that you may need, including an attractive old town for your evening promenade. It is famed for its restaurants, including "Ricci's" - which has the accolade of being Antonio Carluccio's favourite restaurant in Southern Italy. Ostuni, just 07 km from Trullo aromatic greeni, is a fantastic hill town, with the centro storico revealing great bars and restaurants. The town has many facilities, and the market on Saturday morning provides everything you can imagine. Cisternino, just 6 kilometres, has its own character and charm, many free summer concerts and great restaurants. Alberobello is a must for anyone interested in the region's trulli buildings. It is a small town, consisting almost entirely of trulli. Although crowded with tourists in summer, it is worth a visit... and we can recommend some great local restaurants to complete your day. Martina Franca is the smartest town in the area. The Sunday evening passeggiata is a display to behold! The old town centre is a typical example of baroque art, with its white lanes, elegant mansions and stately churches and commune buildings.Beaches On this peninsula, you are never too far from the sea. The Adriatic sea is just 10 minutes from Trullo aromatic greeni, with family beaches and all facilities you need - including seafood and gelato! On the opposite coast, the Ionian, you will find stretches of open beach. Both coastlines offer large beaches and quiet coves, with beautiful clear blue water. Further south the shore becomes more rugged and dramatic. As well as a huge number of towns and beaches to visit, many other activities are available in the area Golf, Horse riding, Scuba diving and snorkeling, Kite-surfing, Cookery courses, pasta making, gourmet tours, Yoga (nearby classes or private lessons at Trullo aromatic green), Massage. We will, of course, be more than happy to help you plan and to make you reservations. Please note, some weeks we hold yoga holidays and gourmet tours for individuals or groups. For special occasions a local chef can come and cook for you. Nights There are many bars, restaurants and clubs to be discovered locally. Puglia is famous for its food, and there are many places to enjoy fabulous cuisine at excellent prices. In the summer there are many bars and clubs set up on the ne Nearby beaches, as well as a multitude of festas and concerts (many free) to make the most of the warm evenings.

  • Isa is a very gracious and generous host who provided us with plenty of information on the surrounding area. The house is a fantastic place to spend a week relaxing. It has everything you need for a perfect stay. We loved the town of Cisternino, which is only a 10 minute drive from the house. For any vegans, we can recommend a little restaurant we came across in Cisternino called Romy and Jole. Thank you Isa for a wonderful stay!

  • I can't recommend this place more highly if you are wanting a peaceful retreat close to many different towns and sites. It is a wonderful place and Isa is a fantastic host. I would definitely recommend getting a car if you are staying in this location.

    Lauren2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Trullo Aromatic Green was exactly what we were looking for, quiet, relaxing, authentic Puglia. Well located, homely and comfortably furnished, we had a great time.

    Brett2014-08-23T00:00:00Z

    Keri-Ann2015-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Isa's Trullo is experiencing Italy's at its best. Located in a secluded area surrounded by olive and almond trees (among many others) between Ostuni and Cisternino, the place is also not far from the sea and the marine reserve of Torre Guaceto, with its transparent see where we swam with a see turtle (!). The Trullo is perfectly organised, both inside and outside, and Isa is attentive, full of suggestions and truly friendly. You can easily see how fond she is of her land. The surroundings offer plenty of possibilities for great food and wine at affordable prices. The car is absolutely needed by the roads are generally safe and well maintained. Highly recommended for a relaxing holiday immersed in a gorgeous nature. Thank you Isa!

  • We had a great Italian holiday lodging at Trullo aromatic green. Arriving later than expected on our first evening, Isa made us very welcome providing us with local cheese, bread, fruit and vegetables and helping us to settle in easily. We loved the house, suitated beautifully within olive, fruit trees and many other plants. It was spacious enough to accommodate our teenage son and his friend on one side of the hall way and me and my husband on the other side. The two bedrooms and bathrooms gave all of us some privacy and independence. We enjoyed exploring the local beaches and the two small towns of Cisternino and Ostuni. All of Isa's recommendations were accurate and let us find some excellent restaurants with delicious dishes. The only sad thing was that we had to leave after 10 days.

  • Isa has a beautiful home in Puglia. All of the details are really considered and the design is beautiful. We look forward to visiting again!

  • Lotte and Alex are extremely nice hosts. Beautiful greeting with glass of wine and chatting in their stunning Troglodyte. This place will not disappoint! Is even more beautiful than pictures on Air bnb show. Lots of additional special, extras that make you feel like a VIP. Lotte has decorated this whole troglodyte beautifully. Lotte recommended restaurants to eat at and they were also very good. Breakfast was also really good and extensive. This accommodation is close enough to all major attractions in area. Make sure you call them when you get there so they can show you the way in, its a little bit hidden. Highly recommend this accommodation - 10 out of 10. It is quite a unique experience and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Extraordinary couple, making your stay experience wonderfull. Alexis and Lotte both give excellent advices, they love their region, plus they are fantastic chef. The room is spacious, well decorated, warm, but you already know that when you see the pictures. We Will definitely come Over again and again. Perfect week end, thank you being such perfect hosts.

  • This is an amazing B&B. The limestone cave is extraordinary and beautifully updated. Far from being a dark damp place as you may expect it is light (south facing) and dry and warm as anything. It is tranquil in the extereme with 8 metres of rock above and of course on 3 sides and below. Not only have Alexis and Lotte created a beautiful space but they have filled it with fitting objects with style and beauty. The service is like a 5 star hotel with great attention to detail for example at breakfast the coffee and tea were presented nicely and warmed by candle most attractively and the "unbranded" natural yoghurt was delicious. This was a wonderful and unique experience for us.

    Benjamin2015-11-19T00:00:00Z

  • I truly recommend Alex and Lotte as fantastic hosts. They are nice ,friendly and helpful and try to give you the best. When I stayed there, they will give you very authentic experience in Amboise area. We talked a lot and I really enjoyed their positive thinking way, love for life and people. Your house is your dream. It is my pleasure that I made my dream come true that I can visit you.It is a wonderful staying experience.

Hector Cave House, carved into the unique caldera cliff for more than 250 years, was originally used as a wine cellar. Then it became a family owned complex of three different properties that opened its doors to share its unique character to travelers from around the world. The three different properties are: The Hector Cave House The Hector Luxury Cave The Hector Caldera Nest
The Hector Cave House, carved into the unique caldera cliff for more than 250 years, was originally used as a wine cellar (“the canava”). The traditional “canava” became a family owned summer house, which then opened its doors to share its unique character to travelers from around the world. Indoor: Hector Cave house (60 square meters) can host 2-5 people, ideal for one couple or a company of 2-5 friends. The house includes one bedroom, two bathrooms and a living room area. The bedroom has one built-in King size bed LOCATED ON THE LOFT and one single sofa bed 200 cm x 80 cm. In the living room area there are two built in single sofa beds. The kitchen is equipped with all the facilities for self-catering holidays, including microwave, refrigerator, electric hot plates, toaster, electric kettle and an espresso machine. Outdoor: The private veranda offers a private space for relaxing, dinning, or even sunbathing, having as a background the most breathtaking views of Santorini: the Volcano, the caldera cliff and Thirassia Island. Outdoor NON heated plunge pool for two is also available from APRIL 1-NOVEMBER 1
Hector Cave house is situated in a very convenient location, right on the main path of Oia traditional settlement. Within walking distance, visitors can reach all the highlights of Oia and wonder around picturesque shops, cozy restaurants and romantic caldera-view cafes. Also, the complex lies a few steps from the old castle and the best viewing spot for the famous Oia sunset. Although close to local activity, the Hector Cave House provides peacefulness and privacy.
  • Six months ago we were planning our five year anniversary and decided to go to Greece. Hector's Cave was the first place that caught our eye and after a ton of research, ended up booking it for five nights. It was the best decision we made! It was our first experience using AirBnB and are so glad we did. Giannis was simply incredible and we never even got to meet him. From the moment we booked, he was SO helpful with everything from an airport transfer, to offering setting up our activities. The home itself was absolutely PERFECT. Oia is amazing and the cave is located conveniently near the sunset, lots of restaurants and the splendid Ammoudi Bay. There is an upstairs veranda that had a hammock that we practically lived in during the day. We bought food to make breakfast every morning and loved getting to sit on the porch with food and coffee and the water right in front. I promise, you will love staying here.

    Jaclyn2014-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Most amazing view ever. Heaven on earth. Giannis is the perfect host, very good communication. The perfect stay. Thanks for everything.

    Astrid2015-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Hector's cave house for a night. The cave house is absolutely beautiful, just as pictured, and the patio had a stunning view of the caldera. It is a minute walk from a popular place to view the sunset, and it is centrally located in Oia. The kitchen was well-stocked and we were able to cook all of our meals during our stay. Giannis was tremendously helpful, and provided us with information about the history of the house and some recommendations for things to do on the island. We highly recommend staying here for a very unique experience! Thank you Giannis (and Natasha) for your excellent hospitality.

    Claire2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb experience and Giannis totally blew away our expectations. He was very prompt in responding to all of our inquiries before the trip. He even arranged for a shuttle to bring us to Oia after our late arrival at the airport. The shuttle from the airport to the Hector Cave House will take approx 30-40min. Giannis met us and had someone carry our bags to the villa. The villa is in a prime Santorini location, almost the the very northern tip of the village. You are literally a few steps from the castle and amazing sunsets. Giannis had the villa stocked with wine, juices, waters and snacks. We weren't expecting this at all. The actual space was impeccable. Plenty of room for two people, you could actually fit 4 people comfortably. There are two spacious bathroom areas and a kitchenette. The outdoor sun deck and jacuzzi were nice as well. The steps leading up to the villa were clearly a photographers dream. We noticed many people taking pics of our steps as we sum bathed. The villa is very clean and well appointed. Giannis is a great host. He sat with us and reviewed all the activities the island had to offer. He gave us restaurant recommendations that were on point. He also arranged a day sailing trip for us on our final check out day. I was relectuctant to write such an amazing review as the secret is now out of the bag. Awesome experience in Santorini. You will love it.

    Nicolas2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • It's great to have a host like Giannis. At our arrival past midnight, he ensured someone picked us up at the airport and he talked to us when we arrived at this place. He wanted to make sure our stay would be a great experience. The place is very wonderful and we stayed for 4 nights. It has a great view of Aegean sea and Santorini islands. The house was as expected and the family loved it.

    Ed2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • It s the second time we book a holiday rental via airbnb and we are lucky that this time we were also not disappointed. The Hector Cave House is lovely, very good location in Oia, the view is amazing we by chance arrived at a full moon night and it was stunning to enjoy the aegean sea breeze at the romantic quiet night. Gianns is a very fabulous host he booked us a transfer and Natasha welcomed us to the cave house. The kitchen has everything you would need and we managed to have our breakfast outdoor every morning. There were towels provided and the whole house look cosy, clean and comfortable with everything we needed, even with candles to enrich your night with more romance. We feel truly thankful to Gianns for lending us such a beautiful house and all the advices for our vacation in Greece. Try a stay in the spectacular house and it would be ideal for family or honeymoon couples.

    Ken2014-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Magical is the only way to describe Hector Cave House. We couldn't believe our luck in booking it, and how accurate the pictures are to what we experienced. Some of our favorite afternoons were just laying out on the patio, dipping in the pool and enjoying the incredible view. All amenities were provided, Dana and Dmitris were incredibly available if we needed them. A special place, we will recommend to all who want to visit Santorini!

    Ivan2018-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! Well located in a quiet neighborhood only 15 minutes from South Lake, it was the perfect place for our trip. My husband and I stayed there with our 8 month old, my parents, and our English bulldog and it was very comfortable for our group. The picture windows in the front room were my favorite. We would definitely stay here again!

    Kendra2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and easy intro. Very cool rustic decorated cabin with comfortable beds and a great living room space. Cool old fireplace to lite up in the winter. Was a great value and only about 8 mins to the strip on the lake.

  • Ryan was an excellent host. The chalet was exactly as described! Immaculately clean and comfortable. The TV in the spare bedroom would not connect but that was a minor glitch in an otherwise perfect weekend. Check in was easy and Ryan was gracious enough to fedex my keys to me when it was discovered I had left them behind. We will definitely stay at the Chalet again! Thanks Ryan!

    Bert2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • this house is very comfy with great beds and decorated very nice, we enjoyed our stay and would rent it again if ever in the area again' Ryan and Darnie were great hosts ...answered questions ...and kept in touch.

    Kathy2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan and Darnie's communication was above and beyond. They accommodated our date change so easily and quickly when I booked the wrong weekend. They also checked in on us to make sure we made it safely when they heard the road conditions weren't good. Checking in and out was super easy. We really enjoyed the beautiful cabin, our stay was amazing. The cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed and more. We were also able to play in the snow across the street and took short walks around the neighborhood. It's a short 25 minute drive to Sierra for snowboarding/skiing. Great location and great price. We'll definitely be back!

    Huyen2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan and Darnie were fantastic hosts. They were very responsive and accommodating. Their home is gorgeous and right across from stunning views of beautiful snowy mountains. It was certainly the perfect place to call home-base during our trip up to South Lake Tahoe!

    Hailey2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet was a great base for enjoying the snow in 50+ degree weather. It gave our two families a place to rest, relax and recuperate between snow play. Checkout was really easy without too many cleaning responsibilities placed on us!

A sturdy cabin with lots of natural light, right in a flowerful garden. It will feel like living outdoors, while inside the cabin there is a lingering aroma of larix wood and crackling of the woodstove.
This charming garden room has a 180 degrees garden view, with large windows in the front and in the roof. (Full length curtains for the windows allow for privacy.) In the cabin you will find a comfortable bed with good mattress - size 165cm by 205cm and plushy pillows. A comfortable desk and chair, free WiFi – to read or even finish some work. Water cooker and drinking water available. Besides being well-suited for the summer, it is also very cozy for the autumn and winter because of the romantic woodstove. The bathroom and toilet are just a few steps away in the main house. Inside the cabin itself is a faucet for water and thanks to good suggestions from guests there is now a chemical toilet for a pee in the night. We don't offer breakfast or cooking facilities, but her you get quietness and romance :) A small stream meanders past the front of the cabin. In the evening the garden is nicely lighted and makes for a beautiful sight and there are multiple sitting areas in the garden. And chickens to enjoy :) - no roosters! The cabin is about 8mts behind our house. Welcome!
The location is in the largest natural area of the Netherlands. The area is great for both walking and bicycling (if you did not bring your own, we have two you can borrow). Many short and long walking and biking routes through heathlands, woods and meadows start within a kilometer from the house. Also within walking distance (800 meter) are the town centre (with shops and several decent restaurants) and swimming pool. Lakes (including beaches) are 5 kilometers away.

    Marijke2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to be the first guests of Bea and Frans, and they were great! The garden house is super cozy and perfect in warm or cold weather. As they say in the profile, the toilet and shower are inside but this isn't an inconvenience at all as you're so close. The garden house is made entirely of wood so it smells great!! And the surrounding garden is beautiful. Long story short, we had a fantastic time! The area is beautiful with so much to do. The house itself was great, and Bea and Frans were wonderful hosts- very helpful, informative, and great to just chat with :) I highly suggest staying here!

    Sarah2012-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in their garden room for two days and we loved it! It's very cozy and pretty in the inside as well as the outside. Bea and Frans provided us with everything that we needed. If it wasn't for the morning light that comes in, I could totally live there! I would recommend this accommodation to anyone who's looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

    Emma2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in the wonderful garden room of Bea and Frans. The weather was not cooperating, a little rain and showers both days, but we were cozy and warmed by the woodstove. Bea and Frans are great hosts. They offered us the use of their bicycles, which we gladly accepted and used between the rain showers. And a nice plate of fruit in the morning was also appreciated. Highly recommended.

    Carel2014-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Bea and Frans are kind, welcoming hosts. It's a a quiet neighborhood, so you can hear the wood stove crackling as you lie in the comfortable bed. As B & F say in their profile, the bathroom is across the courtyard, so you do have to walk outside. But if the weather's decent, that's not a big deal. The house is a short drive or bike ride to lovely forests. Enjoy.

    Dylan2012-10-15T00:00:00Z

    Charlie2015-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay with Bea and Frans! It was close enough to Amsterdam city that we could just take the train, but far enough away to get that town feel. The garden room was so cozy and comfortable! We liked having the fireplace going, but sometimes it got chilly at night if it went out. Bea and Frans were very helpful, offering us use of their bikes and leaving fruit for us for breakfast. The pictures and description were very accurate and we would love to visit with them again. Their neighborhood was also a great place to walk around if you don't want to go into the city. Thank you!

Recomendamos!

  • What a wonderful place to stay we couldn't have asked for somewhere more relaxing, comfortable and spacious. Also the level of interior details were a nice finish. We most of all loved the outdoor terrace which was great to soak up the sun in that time of year and just sit, read a book and unwind in that very quiet neighbourhood. The Riad was in a perfect location close to everything we needed: restaurants, markets, the main square. Our housekeeper Sabah was very welcoming and helpful and every morning we were surprised with another traditional breakfast and delicious mint tea. Also the transfer with Fayssal was very smooth and easy. We would highly recommend the Dar Ahwach Riad of Francoise and look forward to our next stay.

Danke! Peter

  • Lovely place. As depicted in the pictures. Loved the city and the feel of the area. Rooms are well heated with separate heaters provided for each room. Marrakech is a mystical place and Francoise's home made it even more special.

  • We had a great experience here. The people of Morocco are very friendly and love to help out the tourist. This includes Sabbah. Because there was an issue with breakfast the next morning, she was kind to make up for it by doing our laundry twice. This helped us a lot because traveling in July with two small kids was difficult. We also took the tour to Essaouira (which was not planned prior to our arrival) with Sabbah's help. The host was kind enough of arrange a taxi to and from the airport.

This bamboo cottage is a secluded eco retreat down a quiet foot path nestled in the rice fields and only a five minute walk to central Ubud. Open air basket weave bedroom with mini loft, modern elegant bathroom and outdoor living area make this a truly unique Bali experience.
This is a woven house made almost entirely of bamboo. It is open air and as close to living in nature as you get. Our main lodge is down a private foot path only accessible to cottage guests. if you choose to join us for dinner, a swim or for socializing with other guests you are welcome to enjoy this common space with a saltwater pool and a swing. :)
This is a hidden spot literally just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Ubud with its restaurants and shops, but it feels lost in time and like a total retreat. In the day you will only meet rice farmers and local women blessing the rice. At night you will only see fireflies and hear the rushing river, crickets and the distant sounds of the temple. An evening massage is a great way to end the day at sunset on the terrace. We have an in house masseuse who is available by appointment.
  • Superbe expérience dans ce cottage en bambou.

    Pauline2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is AMAZING! Even better than on the photos. It's surrounded by rice fields, so relaxing! The little cottage is super cute, and is immersed in nature: greens are climbing the bathroom walls, you fall asleep hearing the sound of the river and the sun rises behind your bed in the morning. Feels like you're way out of Ubud but it's at a walkable distance. You can also walk to the main facility where you will find a small pool, the coolest swing on the planet, and drinkable water. Staff was very helpful at check in and check out to help drivers find the place. Also if you're going with kids (reasonable age as they have to be careful when climbing/unclimbing) they're gonna love the upstairs bed. I 100% recommend the place!

  • This was our favorite place that we stayed while in Bali ( we were traveling around for 1 week and stayed at 4 places total). It is an unique experience that we couldn't imagine getting anywhere else. This is the ultimate "glamping" experience. It is nestled down a little dirt path that cars can not pass, so walking is the way to go. We loved exploring the rice paddy fields around the location.... be careful not to fall in like we did! The large open-air shower was a highlight. There is an amazing pool and common area at the main portion of the compound. You definitely need a few days to experience this this location. We were only able to stay one night because of availability but wanted longer. Fair warning, this is not the place to stay if you are not a fan of the outdoors. We were visited by mozzies and the friendly compound cat at night.

  • Great experience in the bamboo eco cottage! Indeed I start missing it soon as I left Bali, wish I could stay in this lovely cottage longer. If you would like to experience the local culture, get in touch with nature, and something more than just a stay in a comfortable hotel- then this is the place to be! In the night, the road was very dark but a torch was provided (do expect your shoes to get muddy) and the staff was friendly and offered us help with luggage to and from the airport. What I really like about this place was its picturesque setting and the nature touch. If I ever visit Ubud again, I would love to stay in this place. Highly recommended!

  • Great place to stay & get away! If you're not a fan of the outdoors not a great fit for you. But it really was a great experience and beautiful to stay in for the night.

    Rein2017-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • It's a little way out of Ubud, well within comfortable walking distance however. And the location is perfect. It's a beautiful escape from the loud busy streets of Ubud.

    Jon2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing tucked away bamboo hut that is spacious and perfect for a few nights of zen !! The hosts were incredibly nice and I would definitely stay here again and again

    Maria2018-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • we absolutely loved staying out in nature in the bamboo hut. what isn’t on the listing is that they have a BEAUTIFUUL common area with a pool, swing, and restaurant with the best mushroom pasta in the world!!! so close to ubud market we walked there & just had the best day.

This spacious, unparalleled cave house, hanging on the cliffs of the caldera in the center of Oia, is part of a traditional complex of cave houses, owned & renovated by a family of architects.
Crowning a unique complex of cave houses which used to serve as the old bakery of the settlement, and just a moment from the main pedestrian street of Oia, lays the remarkable cave house of sculptural aesthetics. Originally renovated for personal use by local craftsmen, the house perfectly combines traditional style with comfort. The plasticity of its forms, the use of local techniques, the built in beds and the selection of antique furniture together with the modern amenities, strike the right balance between sophistication and coziness. The cave house has two private bedrooms one of which was actually the old cistern, now transformed into a cocoon, cave room. This couples' nest, is five organic-formed steps sideways and below the main level of the house, with an emperor size (200 x 200 cm) built in bed and vintage wooden furniture. The original path that was naturally created by the cliff structure, connecting the two caves which form this house, leads to the master bedroom, on the other side of the house, maintaining the original architectural plan. With a private entrance, two windows and a door that separates it from the rest of the house, this bright and spacious bed room comfortably fits an oak queen size bed (160 x 200 cm), a large desk with a chair, an antique bookcase and a handcrafted mirror. Both bedrooms are equipped with high quality latex mattresses. In the commodious, off-white living room, a warm and relaxing corner has been created by the two large built in sofa beds (easily accommodating two for sleep) and the square beech wood coffee table. On the side, a solid, oak wood dining table is surrounded be a wooden and a built in bench, comfortably sitting a company of six for a luscious meal, right next to the fully equipped kitchen. There, an oven, ceramic hot plates, refrigerator, coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster and cutlery ensure your stay will be as convenient as possible. The bathroom, deeply curved in the cave, with off white local stucco technique and marble from Crete, has a handcrafted marble wash basin and rain shower. Outdoors, the private terraces expand on different levels literally on the rim of the caldera, creating unique angles and comfortable sitting spaces. You have travelled miles in order to come here; this is the time that you can finally dip in the white washed, semi cave whirlpool. Grasp the serenity and beauty of the sensational, unobstructed view of the volcano. The caldera, the sea and the sky which will undoubtedly leave you breathless. Enjoy!
Oia is the most picturesque coastal town on the northwestern tip of Santorini. The town has whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops, and overlooks a vast caldera filled with water.
  • Laskarina and John's place is just gorgeous, so authentic. Right in the heart of Oia and at the same time away from prying eyes. The view is simply stunning. Evenings are beautiful on the large terrace, and although you don't actually see the sun dip into the sea, the changing colours of sea and sky both morning and evening are breathtaking and you can sit there peacefully for hours. Laskarina and John were incredibly flexible with our difficult arrival time (very early morning), and gave little personal touches such as wine, local phone, and a few ideas and suggestions for things to do and where to eat etc. At the same time they left us very much alone, even though they live right below. We're a family of 5 with 3 older teenagers, and we all just loved it.

    Kim2014-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We are a family of 5 people and we had a wonderful stay at Unique architecture for three days. We stayd at 3 different hotels during our trip at Santorini and Laskarina's property is definitely the best. The view is breathtaking from the cave house. Location is fantastic, just 20 stairs up is the shopping street in Oia. I have to mention how helpfil are the hosts- Laskarina and John. During our stay, there was power off for two days because of a fire at. Laskarina updated the information every a few hours and alreays asked if we need help. We borrowed their gas stove to cook some baby food, which was great. They also arranged a taxi for us before we left. Will definitely stay again if we come back to Santorina. Good luck with everything Laskarina. Guanglu Aug 2013

    Guanglu2013-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our accommodations and all the help our host provided in coordinating pickup and drop offs to/from airports and ports. All we had to do is give Laskarina the information on when we were arriving and what we wanted to do and she coordinated everything for us. It was like she was our personal concierge. I love how attentive, flexible and accommodating she was. We were originally flying into Santorini from Athens and were schedule to get in late at night. We changed our minds the morning of our departure and took the high speed ferry to Santorini. Without hesitation, Laskarina modified the transfer information to make sure that someone met us at the port. We were driving to Oia and met by a person that led us to our cave house. Between the driver and the person greeting us in Oia, we never had to touch our bags until we were at the Cave house. The only thing that I was not clear on in the description was the free laundry service. I was thinking that someone would come and wash and return laundry. Instead, we learned that there is a washing machine in an area below our cave house. Laskarina provides the washing machine, soap for the laundry, and a drying rack. This came in handy because it was very hot during our stay and on some days we changed clothes as many as three times. There are numerous shops and restaurants just steps away from our cave. There is a pool that is open to the public that is not far. Only cost is a drink from the bar. The scenery is beautiful, as the patio of the cave looks out onto the Aegean Sea. You can walk down the stairs (about 250) stairs down to the seafront, walk to the pool or go to the red, white or black beaches via car or ATV. Very easy to rent ATV's and many people use them. $33 a day for one that seats two people. They will bring ATV's from you and pick them up from you as well. There is a hiking path between Oia and Fira that takes about four hours, but has wonderful views. If you are like me and like photography, there is a great deal of natural beauty to see along the path. I had not been to Santorini before and had not known of Santorini cats, but was welcomed by a small black cat shortly upon our arrival and she came to see us almost every day. The cat was really nice. Also had a yellow Labrador that came to visit as well. These animals are very friendly and appear to belong to the island. We had a wonderful time in Santorini and the accommodations were wonderful!

  • This is an exceptional home. You can see how unique and beautiful from the photos. More than a place to stay it is an unforgettable experience. A classic Oia home!

    Brian2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Laskarina's place- great location, close to everything without too many stairs! Laskarina was a fantastic host, highly recommend.

  • We traveled to Oia during Late November and couldn't have been more pleased with Laskarina's home! Our expectations were exceeded both inside the home and especially with the large patio over looking the most beautiful sunrises and views. There were still several restaurants, markets, cafes, bakeries and shops open. We walked to see the sunsets each night and felt fortunate it was off season. Good walking shoes and agility on foot are a must, especially if you hike down to the Sea. Laskarina arranged our airport transfer both ways and a porter. Anna was available for maid service if needed. I hope to return and highly recommend this home. We traveled with our 2 college age children, 2 couples would work well also.

  • I should write this esrlier, but busy in filing the beautiful photos i took in front of Laskarina's amazing cave house. It's hard to describe how great the experiences were to stay there simply by a few words. If i could, i'd rather show you photos with everything everyday we saw during the stay. Besides the breathtaking view and convenient location (really just a few steps away from the main street), both John and Laskarina are so nice and helping. Highly recommend travellers in santorini to spend vacation there in this cozy cave house.

    Eurice2015-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Laskarina & her husband were excellent hosts. They were there when we needed them with answers to questions & great advice - but they were not intrusive in our time in any way. The flat is amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. The location could not be better - set in the middle of quintessential Santorini (Oia) - just a short walk from the sunset rock & feet from amazing restaurants. It is clean and open with great heat (important in winter!), stunning views, beautiful terraces .... it truly is perfect! We were 5 traveling & had no problems fitting - plenty of room!

FREE: Fiber Optic Internet Connection! 1 bedroom apartment with a king size bed, bathroom, a kitchen and dining/living area with a pull out sofa. It has a direct access from the bedroom to the pool which is shared with only 2 more apartments. Our guests are mainly travelers and tourists who like to be independent and therefore prefer to live in a flat rather than a hotel. They alone take care of their comfort as well as cleaning, washing the dishes, waste disposal, etc.
White Pool Villa with only 3 apartments is located on the road from Rawai beach to the Phromptep Cape, the most southern tip of Phuket, known for its romantic and spectacular sunsets. The apartments share private pool, so there is no crowd and enough privacy for everyone. Each apartment has its own private terrace. The villa has a large garden (1000 sqm) with trees and palms. Set in beautiful hillside grounds bursting with tastefully nurtured vegetation with a back-to-Nature feel. Yet, it is only a few minutes away from the famous Rawai and Nai Harn beach. Amenities and service: - FREE: Fiber Optic Internet Connection! -Air Condition -Celling Fans -LCD TV, cable TV -Safe box in each apartment -Free WiFi (Fiber Optic Internet: 24.45Mbps download spead, 3.48 Mbps upload speed) -Free Parking -Towels and bed linen are provided -Cleaning 1 x per week or as agreed Phuket Airport Distance: 1:30 h, depending on the traffic Phuket Town: 30 minutes We do hope that you will enjoy your stay in our apartment!
For swimming try nearby beaches such as little, cute Ya Nui and Nai Harn Beach. Nai Harn Beach is often overlooked compared to other west coast beaches getting a lot more attention. But many frequent visitors to Nai Harn will tell you that they love the beach for its peaceful and unspoiled character. Its location is not far for all the action and fun nightlife spots such as Patong which is just 20 minutes away. Rawai Beach is not an ideal place to swim, but it has a charming and natural feel. There are no jetskies, banana boats or any of the trappings of a west coast beach; this is Thai beach life. Here you will find many good and inexpensive restaurants, markets, ATMs, taxi stands, etc.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at white pool villa. We rented a moped as the villa is a little bit far to walk to the main bars and restaurants in raiwai. The moped was arranged by Manoch and we paid a very reasonable price. Initially we were shocked by the amount of stray dogs around by the villa however you quickly become used to them and realise they do you know harm and don't disturb you. We had some very nice meals at a restaurant called Flipside in Raiwai they do really good burgers! The pool at the villa is lovely we swam each morning ,we visited Nai harn beach and also Kata beach. nai harn beach was our favourite as it was much quiter. We visited Patong for dinner one evening and went to the Holiday inn SAMs steak and grill restaurant,we arranged a taxi through the villa and again paid a good price. All in all we had a good stay and would recommend the villa to friends!

  • We had a great stay at the villa. The apartment was large, stylish and mostly comfortable. The bathroom and shower were lovely too. The bed was wonderfully large but far too hard for our liking. But, I suppose its a matter of preference. The wifi didn't work for four of the seven days we stayed, and we were told it was because a storm had brought down the telephone lines. Others may get better luck. The location is great if you want peace and quiet. It's a kilometer from the main strip, up a gentle hill. This was no problem at all because we rented scooters from the property manager Manoch, for only 250 baht a day!

    Alun2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a relaxed and incredible experience we had! Everything from arranging a stay, requesting amenities (birthday surprise for my SO), to renting a scooter. It was as smooth as it could have been; impeccable! Mr. Zokson does an absolute amazing job at communicating with the guests, and he responded promptly to all our enquiries in detail, and exceeded our expectation. This was our first time staying in a place through Airbnb and we must say it was a well-rounded positive experience. As few reviews have aforementioned, we were picked up from the airport by taxi arranged by Mr.Zokson. The taxi driver; Mr. Jarat, was a very friendly and pleasant individual. He spoke very good English and he was able to answer all our enquiries ranging from recommendation for local attractions to political situations in Thailand. I strongly advise booking a taxi with Mr. Jarat, as he's very punctual, hard-working and honest man whose taxi service charge is very low as opposed to all the taxi service we came across on the island. It is quite a long journey from the airport to the apartment (45 mins), as the apartment is situated on the south of the island. However, the taxi ride from the airport to the apartment, on its own is quite spectacular. You drive through all the development, hustle bustle of the island and then to a secluded part of the island where the apartment is situated. The apartment is very spacious, well-regulated and with a beautiful relaxing swimming pool. We rented a scooter and was able to travel to all the 'must visit' places of Phuket, and I sincerely think the apartment is on the best part of the island. It is near the best beaches on the island for snorkeling & swimming; Ya Nui, Nai Harn, Kata and the secluded beach (request the housekeeper to show it you), just to name the few. The apartment is also close to Rawai beach where all the boat are docked and you can travel to all exotic accessible islands such as; Coral island, James Bond island, etc. After staying in Phuket for 7 days, we left for Phi Phi island where we stayed in 5 star hotel and then to Bangkok. After careful reflection, my SO and I concluded the best time we had in Thailand was by far in Phuket. The reason being - we got to live like an islander and the apartment felt like our own home. Not to mention we met an amazing people in the apartment who felt like family and this is why we absolutely loved the place. Thank you for having us Mr. Zokson! Phuket left a print in our heart. Your apartment is amazing and we are quite envious of it! :) (Hello Sigrid - How are you? )

  • We had the best time in a White Pool Villa apartment. The location is really good, because it's quiet and you can enjoy evenings in silence, listening to the wind instead of listening to the traffic. However, if you rent a motorcycle, you are in a the center of Rawai in a few minutes. There are a lot of restaurants and shops if you need anything. Apartment holds a nice kitchen with a refrigerator and a water heater which is a great advance if you want to have your coffee in the morning on a terrace by the pool. White Pool Villa has a nice pool for its guests and a wonderful garden all around, with all kind of Thai palm trees, herbs etc., it is really SO BEAUTIFUL! I should also mention the Wi-fi which is free of charge and very fast. And all praise also to the house manager and a house handyman - they were both so kind and helpful. I highly recommend White Pool Villa for whoever is staying in Rawai, Thailand. We will definitely go back there again!

  • Lovely setting, quite central with good access to restaurants and Ferry. Nice home, gorgeous view. Everything was clean and in good order. Carla is a fantastic host, very quick to respond, and offered great advice on local attractions. We will be back!

  • We really enjoyed the stay at Carla´s and Ivan´s appartment. The flat is perfect and the view from the balcony absolutely breathtaking. Riva di Solto is a very charming village with outgoing people, little shops where you can buy all you need for dinner. Carla and Ivan are very helpful in every way, they gave us some tips for bike rents and other things we needed.

  • Amazing view, sunrise is amazing right from your bed :) The apartment is spacious, terrace is great. The only minuses were that Wifi didn't work at all and it was a bit cold in the apartment, although Ivan and Carla turned on the heating upon our request. We stayed for one night only, probably this place worths staying for at least 2 nights. Recommended!

  • After our journey from Milan on a hot summer day, my wife and I were welcomed with a pleasant Lago d'Iseo breeze. Carla was a most perfect host, picking us up from the bus stop and showing us around the property and town, even leaving some thoughtful treats. The apartment is smartly furnished and has everything one could need- including a jaw dropping view. There is an abundance of activities on property and we left with heavy hearts on Sunday when we had to leave a little slice of heaven.

  • Rigtig god modtagelse. Berit & Michael

  • We felt very welcome by Carla & Ivan. The fridge was switched on as well as warm water, Carla left us fresh fruits, milk and juice. The communication with Carla was perfect, she was always available for any questions we had. The neighbourhood was at this time very quiet - we were the only guests at the end of May. It couldn't have been better. The appartment was nice and clean, even the pics at Air B&B show the appartment bigger than it was in reality (it's really not that big). The urbanization is very nice, modern and quiet, the pool will open by middle of June. We really liked to stay at Riva at Carlas apparment. Thanks a lot :-). The view is fantastic and lake Iseo as well as Riva di Solto is very charming and nice as well as the hosts Carla & Ivan.
