I had a great time with Christine and her husband, who delivered a magnificent experience during this challenging period. The overall experience is one of a kind - the hosts know deep insights, as they are able to connect us directly to the artisans. The wooden mask was, for certain, pretty valuable as a takeout!

We had the best time at our batik mask making class with Sesawi tours! Our hosts were kind, knowledgeable and accommodating, everything you want in a tour! We learned so much and had a fabulous time making our batik masks! The lunch afterwards was also delicious and overlooked a rice patty. Sesawi tours can accommodate any tour in the local Yogykarta area at a far price as well as extended multi day tours around Java and East Java. I only wish I would have met them sooner and I would have booked all of our Java and East Java experiences through them! I can only recommend 100%! P.s. I've included a few pictures from our day so you have an idea of the fun you're in for!

Quite a great experience. Our guide Christine was wonderful in explaining the local area and culture as well as helping us figure out different places to explore in Yogya. The lunch was delicious and she really worked to accommodate my veganism. Creating the masks was fun and Christine was a great instructor explaining the history of batik, the different symbols and in helping us figure out the tools and correct our mistakes

I am from Malaysia and was travelling solo. As a Malaysian, batik isn't new to me, but this was an amazing and different experience for me, not just because Wood Batik is unique to Yogyakarta region, but also because this experience was very authentic. The experience takes you to the wooden batik village in the Bantul district, where all they do is produce wood and wooden batik art for a living. You get to see the inside of a local's workshop and design your batik mask in such an authentic setting. The experience also includes a meal, where you'll be taken to eat the local dish Ingkung, which is a specialty of the Krebet area. If you're looking for a unique experience in Southeast Asia, this is it! Sesawi Tours was very warm and welcoming, I ended up hiring them to take me around other tourist sights in Jogja. They made my trip to Jogja really memorable, as we conversed and exchanged information of each other's culture.
