What an absolute gem just outside Parys. Lovely location, peaceful and quiet. Will definitely be back!

Gizelle's place is lovely and beautifully decorated. The indoor fireplace was wonderful since we were visiting during winter. The outdoor braai area is very close and convenient. There are many places inside and outdoors to relax and the furniture and beds are all very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised at how close the river is to the house, another bonus! We had a lovely stay at the house and Parys was close enough to explore with all its excellent restaurants.

We and our two puppies throughly enjoyed our weekend away at the Old Copper Shed. The farm was peaceful, quiet with amazing sunrises and sunsets. The unique copper aesthetic was one to remember and I would highly recommend the stay to anyone looking for a little sho’t left on the weekend. Bring your pets with as ours loved the freedom of the open veld. Thank you to Adriaan for the great hospitality.

This is truly a piece of rustic heaven! The pictures don’t do this gem justice. I’ve stayed at many places and I believe this has been the best value for money. From the sturdy house, to the incredible view from the manicured lawn to the best milk I’ve ever tasted. I would literally book again just for that!!!

Always a great stay and a great host. A tranquil location with great surroundings.

Dhabi and Keith were very accommodating even with the difficulties of load shedding they had extra oil lamps and solar torches available. The sheep were dropping lambs so the kids had fun feeding them milk. It was also harvesting time and we were able to ride along and see what goes into the harvest. A real farm feeling and with little to no signal some times, it was great to switch off and have great family time. We will be back for sure

The experience at the farm house was so amazing. It was very peaceful and quiet. The host, Inance was very helpful and responsive, gave clear and thorough directions.

We were very tired when we arrived and it was cold and rainy, we were received at the door and assisted, the room was heated and perfect for us to relax. I would definitely recommend staying over at The Barn

The unit was beautiful and matched the photos and descriptions. Paul was very friendly and welcomed us when we arrived. He also organized kayaks and fishing rods for us at our request. The team that came to clean the unit every morning was very professional and discreet, so the whole time we were there, we didn’t feel like we were being disturbed or uncomfortable. The sunrise over the Vaal was beautiful and we were lucky to have great weather over the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a quiet weekend away.

We had a great stay. Bokmakierie is situated on a beautiful farm. We felt safe and welcome. We were visiting during heavy rainfall - they kept updated about the safety of the roads. Adolf and Engela are fantastic hosts. Will definitely visit again.

What a great find! Cecil and Tammy were fantastic hosts and we felt right at home. The farm and surroundings creates a peaceful, grounding experience. The little things like coming back from a cold night to a warm fireplace and the lovely rusks left with coffee was a treat. I would have loved to stay longer if my time allowed and will definitely be back.
