Our stay at the ZaLo waterfront cabin was nothing short of peaceful and cozy. The space had everything we needed to make the most of our winter stay. We especially enjoyed utilizing the fully stocked kitchen to enjoy homemade meals and braving the cold to warm up in the conveniently located hot tub. Jon and his family were extremely welcoming and communicative. It’s apparent they take pride in their spaces and truly enjoy making experiences memorable for others.

Charming house for a quiet, restful stay. We had fun in the town and then took the ferry to Burlington. Great place, very calm in the late-winter, early spring.

Always love staying at the beautiful Lodge. You can’t beat the beautiful surroundings in any time of year. The room is nicely furnished, and private with a view. Love the sunken tub. I will definitely stay here again.

Absolutely everything about the Point Au Roche Lodge was perfect! It is rare that you find a diamond in the rough like this and Yuri and Jess have restored my hope in Airbnb by offering such a stellar stay in a beautiful part of upstate NY that is somehow removed and peaceful despite being located near access to the major interstate going N/S and several cities along Lake Champlain including the city this is located in. It was my first time in this area and I was somewhat desperate for a place to stay while traversing through Grand Isle (in the middle of Lake Champlain) during some sketchy weather. Not only did Yuri respond almost as soon as I requested the booking, they provided succinct and easy to understand directions that got me inside the lodge with ease late in the evening. This place is beautiful and was exactly what I wanted in a share space bnb. You still have complete privacy as if you are in a hotel room, but you have access to history, fellow bnbers, and Point Au Roche!

We stayed on the island for a week at the birds nest. I will start with negatives, and follow up with positives. Overall our stay was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it, and would like to come back again. For negatives, there was a slight fly problem in the house, we picked up some fly tape and took care of the problem. The house is rustic, there were bugs, but RUSTIC is the word here, don’t stay somewhere rustic, if you are afraid of bugs and a little dirt. The other negative, is that the house is managed by a property mgmt group called Vacasa. I didn’t realize this, and didn’t get responses for a while, then finally realized, and was able to call/ text them and they provided excellent service, even came over to fix something the next morning upon our arrival. Also, the post doesn’t state that there is a historical house attached the the birds nest house. Jim lives there and his cute dog, Jim was helpful, friendly, and informative, chopped some wood for us and lent us peroxide. However, we barely ever saw him! And the property is large that you do not need to interact at all if you don’t want! You still have a completely private beach, and private house. This place was pure beauty. If you are looking for peace and wholesomeness this is for you. Also, they had a rowboat, canoe, and peddle boat! 5 chairs down by the fire on the beach, a pretty well equipped kitchen! A blue heron lives in the cove. I loved my week on Isle la Motte. I look forward to returning one day. Closest full grocery store is 30 mins away, small shops within 15 mins.

Beautiful spot on the lake. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and very well taken care of. Lots of outdoor spaces to hang out. Deck, several spaces with fire pits and a dock to fish from. We didn’t have the best weather but the one or two days we did have a sunset, it was amazing! House was extremely clean and well appointed. Thanks so much!

We had a very nice, quiet stay in Plattsburgh. Check-in in and out was simple and it was a neat lodge.

Beautiful cabin, would love to stay here outside of the winter season as well, but watching the snow from our room was very peaceful!

My friends and I had a great time. We were able to launch our 18ft boat at the public launch just around the bend and tie up right at the ramp in the backyard (we did need to wade through about a foot of water for the last 50 yards or so because of the depth and a larger motor). The house itself matched the photos accurately and the description of the layout was accurate. To address previous reviews about the water quality, Ricky did tell us ahead of time to bring drinking water. I wouldn't say that the water was dirty, but it smelled strongly of sulfer which I know some people cannot tolerate. We still showered, washed dishes, etc. Overall the location was the reason we booked and at the price the Ricky offers I would book year after year!

This was our first time renting an Airbnb property and it did not disappoint. The hospitality we received from the host was amazing!! They were very helpful. The views from the porch were spectacular!! Definitely would recommend this place.

Paul and Jenel’s cottage was so lovely. Accommodations are modest, but full of everything you’d need for a lakeside stay. Everything was clean, cozy and picturesque. I felt like I stepped back in time 35 years with the antique furniture (all in good shape too!). The cottage is set back on the property, but you can still see the water from the porch and front windows. Paul was helpful when I needed to find a late night place to eat, and they even let me borrow a bike to explore the island with. I felt safe and secure as a solo femme traveler needing a place to stay for a wedding nearby. The island itself is beautiful and very quiet, people are friendly. You basically don’t have anything by way or restaurants or bars without having to leave the island, but it’s a great place to relax and reset in nature.

Beautiful location right on Lake Champlain. The cabin was quaint, cozy, and had all the amenities we needed. Had a rustic, family-cabin feel.

The comfy, cozy, lakeside cottage was a treat! The cleanliness was noted. Really appreciated the washer and dryer. Being on the lake with a western view was special. Beachcombing for seaglass was a lot of fun. Trips to Stowe and surrounds were easy with our GPS. There was evidence of a number of innovations such as driftwood fixtures, cool stairway to the beach, etc. (beach is all stones, BTW). Nancy and Dave were there to meet us when we arrived and showed us around the place well. They made us feel very comfortable. We recommend this home highly.
