Came to stay at Joshua’s home while I got dental work done, and his home is absolutely amazing, everything is there that you could need, he’s super responsive, always willing to help out, etc. if in ever in the area again, I will be staying here.

I cannot say enough about Peculiar Nest. It is home. The amenities are incredible; the area is peaceful and relaxing; the hosts are welcoming and so supportive. I enjoy every moment there. I highly recommend!

Peculiar Nest was an absolute beautiful oasis. No detail was left out. The Hosts were very down to earth and nice - we sat outside for about an hour and talked about life and all the wonderful things about McAllen. We will definitely stay here again on another trip.

The Birdhouse on the Rio - A South Texas Retreat

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The pictures on AirBnB of the grounds and lake looked too good to be true. It was even better than that! It's your own personal wildlife refuge. I came to south Texas for all of the famous birding national refuges, state parks, etc. (which really were amazing!) Yet, I found myself wanting to get back early each night to The Birdhouse on the Rio just to see what I could find. An amazing cast of characters live there and many other guest stars come for a visit! Even if you're not a birder and just enjoy nature, there are more peaceful places to sit outside at The Birdhouse than the inside of most homes. If that's not enough, the house is just about perfect and the owners are so welcoming and thoughtful. That was the best rental at which I've stayed. A huge thank you to the owners for doing their part in providing a natural habitat for all of our feathered and furry friends... and sharing it with us.

Un oasis increíble escondido dentro de la ciudad, y muy cerca de todo! Nuestra estadía la califico con 10 de 10, no sientes que estuvieras en Mcallen, es una zona muy tranquila y bella. La habitación Bohemia sumamente cómoda, la atención al detalle es excelente. Tienen amenidades en común muy interesantes. No puedo dejar de agradecer la atención y el servicio de los dueños del lugar, se nota mucho la pasión con la que mantienen ese lugar y lo orgullosos que están de compartirla con los visitantes. Si quieres una estadía en airbnb fuera de lo común, inmerso en la naturaleza y la vez tener comodidad y estar cerca de todo... este es tu lugar!

We loved the house. Right on the golf course was great. Concierge was great and very responsive to our needs. Shout out to Delphino. If and when we are back in Pharr, we will definitely see if this home is available. We love the Plantation.
