Dodd Cottage is a dog-friendly, airy barn conversion at the foot of Skiddaw & 1 mile from Bassenthwaite. It has a mezzanine double bedroom on the first floor and a twin bedded room on the ground floor. The lounge has a dining table & chairs, with two sofa's arranged around the TV. Also on the ground floor is the well-equipped kitchen and shower room with shower, washbasin & WC. Outside there is an enclosed garden with picnic bench & BBQ. Shared games room with table tennis and pool table.

We are situated 5 minutes walk from Derwent Water and the Nicol End Marina for kayaking and water activities. Portinscale has a pub that serves food and a cafe. Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

Just outside the Lake District National Park but within a 30 minute drive of Keswick you get the best of both worlds of exploring the attractions of the Northen Lake District and the Solway Coast with its quaint seaside towns.
