We had a great couple of nights in this spotlessly clean home. The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to self cater with ingredients we found around the local area, and it was a beautiful spot to sit and watch the sunset over the water.

Our family of nine had a wonderful stay at Jim’s place. There was plenty of room for us all, two big living areas and the location is fantastic, just across from the lovely beach. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is really well stocked and we had access to kayaks, cricket gear, fishing rods etc. which made for a very active and relaxing holiday. This cottage was stunning with a beautiful uninterrupted view of the water and access to the beach. It is so comfortable, quiet with lovely touches in decor and furnishings. The garden is full of flowers and safe for our puppy who also enjoyed her stay running on the beach and exploring the little garden. We will definitely revisit this tranquil property in the future.

A wonderful stay, the spa on the deck was particularly fun for our kids, and we loved the wood fire. Warm and cosy stay with beautiful views of the bay.

We used the cottage as a base to explore the Huon Valley and it was perfect. The cottage had everything we needed as described, wonderful hosts who we could contact at any time, picture perfect location. Thank you for the beautiful bottle of wine and the Easter chocolates. Highly recommend this venue and hosts.

We enjoyed the house and area for an extended family trip. Lots of room and activities at the house. Kids loved the painting spot, and the short walk to fish off the jetty. Some nice foreshore walks, with a well formed track to Verona Sands. Thanks

Clean, tidy and comfortable warm home (with use of wood heater) and a beautiful spot on the Huon. Great fishing from the front of the home... caught a very tasty gummy shark using a drone. I would gladly stay at this property again.

Beautiful location and an amazing place to get away and relax. Best thing is that you can do it with your fur friends. They were equally relaxed and loved the beach.

Words and photos don’t do The Oyster Shack justice. It’s a truly special place in the far south wilderness of Tasmania. Russell was so friendly and accommodating. From the freshly baked berry cake and home-cooked jam to the fresh farm eggs and access to the fruit and veggie garden, Russel did more than expected for us. The place itself is super rustic with a fireplace and everything you need, including board games and all you need to be cook up a storm and for an unplugged few days to truly recharge. Our tip is to keep the curtains open so you wake to the glorious sunrise over the Lagoon. We would love to come back one day.
