Sam was a great host and provided clear communication. The cottage was nestled on the edge of the town centre at the entrance to the park and close to amenities. The property its self was charming and cozy however it was a little tired. The stay was very relaxing and all in all it was reasonably priced.

A lovely cottage with all the amenities needed with out any fuss. Our son especially liked his bedroom with the balcony over the living room and the Shepard's hut was lovely to retreat to in the evening with the fire, especially when it was typical Scottish weather.. A lovely stay would come back for longer next time & Danielle was lovely when we couldn't figure out the bedroom blind and we even met the dogs on the last morning who were curious but well behaved.

Die Unterkunft war wunderschön - wie auf den Bildern zu sehen! Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, aber dennoch nah an Edinburgh - wunderbar, um von dort aus in die Stadt oder mit dem Mietwagen in die Natur zu fahren. Unser Gastgeber war immer sehr gut zu erreichen und sehr freundlich. Ein Nachteil war (für uns) die Auffahrt: Durch den Schotteruntergrund sind die Reifen bei der Einfahrt durchgedreht und bei der Ausfahrt ist der Wagen trotz Bremsen weiter hinab getuscht. Das war etwas nervenaufreibend. Insgesamt würden wir diese Unterkunft aber in jedem Fall empfehlen!

I stayed at this wonderful property for a few days right after getting married, kicking off my honeymoon while also showing my new in-laws some of the best parts of the UK. The entire family had a great time here—it’s clean, very spacious, and truly felt like home. We did run into a minor issue with a bathroom leak (a bit of bad luck on my part, I suppose), but the host was incredibly responsive and did everything they could to resolve it quickly. I really appreciate how it was handled and am grateful for the prompt attention. Overall, I highly recommend this lovely property. If I’m ever in Edinburgh again with family or friends, I’d definitely check if this place is available before considering other options in the Old Town area. A big thank you to the superhosts for your kindness, patience, and excellent communication in making sure everything went smoothly during our stay. 🙏🙏♥️

We had a fantastic stay at the Trail House. the cottage is perfectly located for walking and cycling in the glentress forest, and is walking distance to the local pub/restaurant. the house was perfectly set up for everything we needed, and Hayley was a super responsive and flexible host.

Great stay at Olly’s place. Nice welcome from Olly ( bearing a welcome cake) not long after arrival. We were able to walk around the estate grounds and use the tennis court. Plenty of walking straight from the stay. Yair forest is on the doorstep with walking trails and MTB trails. The stay had everything we needed and is a short drive from pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. Would be happy to stay at Olly’s place again.

We, a family of five, enjoyed wonderful four nights in the lovely House on the Hill which was exactly as described. A great plus was the tennis court, that was very well received by our children. Walking the dog was a great experience. We used the farm cottage to explore Scottish Borders, Northumberland and of course Edinburgh. We would certainly come back and highly recommend this lovely place!

Really lovely apartment in walking distance to the city Centrum and to the castle, but still far away enough to not be bothered by noise. Really lovely neighbourhood with a great pub just around the corner. We would most definitely recommend this place if you're going to stay in Edinburgh 😍

A fabulous cottage in a stunning setting. Three of us went for Easter weekend and had the best time. Great to have your own hot tub and the other facilities are more than worth the extra charge. We really enjoyed the swimming pool! We had an issue with the oven on our first night and after mentioning this to the hosts it was replaced by a brand new oven the next morning in the couple of hours we were planning to be out sightseeing. It didn't affect our stay and we thought it summed up how helpful and responsive our hosts were. Jacqui and Lenny were amazing and really look after the guests that were there during our stay. Do not hesitate to book, we will be going back 🙂

Great group of self catering cottages 5 mins drive outside Thornhill. Really well equipped self catering cottages. Beds are spotless & comfy. Heating keeps the place very cosy. Well equipped kitchen. We were in the Thomas Carlyle which is roomy enough for 4. Ensuite shower room upstairs with family bathroom downstairs. Every cottage has there own hottub. Private pool, sauna & large hottub available for exclusive use for £15/hr. Jacqui & Lenny are lovely & friendly & welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. We had a wonderful week full of sunshine and clear skies to explore the stunning countryside. Definitely recommended ❤️❤️❤️

You have a spectacular place to stay and you both are absolutely lovely ☺️ This is our every year break away now, thank you. We just had a great stay at the templand cottages. Brilliant location. Very peaceful. The pool was great additional amenity as the kids loved it. We stayed in the Jane Welsh cottage and it was probably the most private when in the hot tub and had excellent views over the hills. Thanks for a relaxing stay.

Amazing facility’s and cottage with a lovely town just down the road. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming will definitely be back!

Had the most beautiful weekend, hosts are so friendly and felt right at home, the cottage itself is very cosey and has everything you need. I was also kindly gifted a bottle of bubbles for my birthday. I Would 100% recommend and will hopefully be back again soon! Thankyou

The apartment was very comfortable and clean. Ceilidh left plenty of treats. I highly recommend this apartment as the location was great for access to the city and shopping. The bus stop was just across the street!

Beautiful cabin with a coffee shop and old railway walk right on your doorstep. Veronica was a fantastic host who was flexible with check-in and showed us around. The grounds are immaculate and great for a dog. No issue for us but worth noting there are some chickens kept on site should you have a reactive dog. Equally great for little ones’ entertainment. Cabin has everything you need and a communal microwave/hob along with a trolley for ease of moving bits from the car. Really it feels like you’re home and away from technology. No wifi (great 5G signal though) and no TV so just bring a tablet if needed. For light sleepers, you can hear trucks but wasn’t any issue for us. 100% recommend and we’ll certainly be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Starling’s Rest! Whilst the home is tiny there is everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Amelia was responsive and helpful with local recommendation for us and our dog. We would definitely recommend! Thanks Amelia :)

Our stay at the Caravan was out of this world! It succeeded all our expectations. Comfortable, clean and very bright up on the hill! Wildlife galore! A tranquil 20 minute walk into Melrose with beautiful views. We cannot wait to go back in the summer. Virginia is such a wonderful lady, very caring and very friendly, it was so nice to get to meet her in person. Would give this 6 stars out of 5 if we could! Thank you Virginia! X

I have been to Sheila's place many times before, it is my regular stopover on my way home from the outer hebrides. I just love it there. Her home is beautiful, quirky and the decor is gorgeous....not to mention the really comfy bed and the lovely views outside. The area is peaceful with a lovely village nearby. Sheila is one of the friendliest people I have ever met! She is really lovely, helpful, kind, welcoming and if I could give her 1000 out of 5 I would. I look forward to my next stay with Sheila.
