Location, location, location!! This cabin had a beautiful view. It was very peaceful and private with easy access. It had a homey feel inside. It was clean and appliances were in working order. Ac/heater were working great! We had some snow furries and freezing rain during our stay but this was the perfect place to wait it out. 15 min from Boone! Close to shopping and great restaurants. Had a great time!

Wonderful mountain stay! Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. The trip up from the main road was definitely worthy of our Jeep, but once we got to the top of the hill we felt like we were a million miles away from the real world ...didn't want to go home. Kitchen was stocked fairly well, comfy beds and the deck was magical.

The most incredible venue!!! Every detail is well thought out to make guests comfortable. The setting is impossible to describe in words and photos. Its so special.

Beautiful cabin, responsive host, games on site that we loved, great fireplace, kitchen very well equipped w/ spices etc. Bathroom is sparse, two rolls of tp and no shampoo/conditioner. Roads were totally impassable so we had to cut our trip short and only stayed one of the two nights we booked. We thought 4WD would be enough, but your really need chains if there's anything on the road; the neighborhood isn't plowed or salted at all. Host did recommend both 4wd and chains.

Out of all the cabins we have stayed at this cabin far exceeded our expectations. it was absolutely gorgeous with great surroundings views. the place was spotless with loss of things to do and entertain. we highly recommend this cabin.

The place and location are picturesque and awesome! The facilities are exactly as shown and maintained very well. Definitely worth revisiting!

Can’t say enough on how satisfied we were with Wendy’s home. We originally booked another home for our 13th anniversary but noticed a rodent/bug infestation. We contacted Wendy & 1 other company late in the evening scrambling to find somewhere else last minute. The other company denied our request due to no staffing after 5pm, but Wendy responded & accepted our request with no hassle. She was very kind, helpful & prompt in communicating. As soon as we opened the door we were so relieved to find the home not only beautiful but spotlessly CLEAN. Her home is charming, fully equipped kitchen w/modern appliances, plenty of towels and blankets, cozy, & one of the cleanest we’ve stayed in. The hot tub on the back porch had beautiful views, was big, clean & relaxing. It is at the top of this particular mountain in Vilas, & the views in winter were amazing. We loved using the wood burning fire place, appreciated the smart TV, & allowing our pups! Thank you to Wendy for saving our weekend!

This airbnb was perfect. Amazing view and such cute furniture. The hot tub was up and running ready for use which was perfect. We had such a great time and very close to either Beech or Sugar to go snowboarding.

4 Adults and 4 children traveled from MI to stay at The Shady House. Traditionally we have to stayed with family. This was so much better. The Shady House was a great size to entertain our family who came to visit us. We brought the food, the kitchen had the cookware needed to prepare meals. Great time, Cranberry Festival was fun, and hosting family was a blessing. Thank You Kate

We love staying here! The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to cook at the cabin. Our granddaughters love the giant tub. The remote location is peaceful. My husband and I enjoy sitting on the porch swing together. We will most definitely be back!

We had a great time at this quiet area of the lake. Easy access to the water was nice and the house was comfortable for our family.

Really enjoyed our weekend getaway! Cabin was beautiful, hot tub worked perfectly, and the quiet escape was wonderful for relaxing and celebrating our anniversary. Upstairs outdoor patio was really peaceful as you’re practically sitting in the trees. The keypad was a little tricky to get turned on/activated for code entry, at first, but was easy to use each entry thereafter. Just gently rest your hand on the keypad and it “wakes up” quickly. Would happily stay here again in the future!

We had a great stay at this condo, Avery was very helpful and communicative and answered any questions I had very quickly. The views were stunning, the area was beautiful, we would definitely love to come again.

Kayla’s place was perfect for our stay. We found everything as described and we felt right at home.

Nicole’s place was absolutely phenomenal. We arrived in torrential downpour in the middle of the night. She’d left lights on for us and getting in was easy. The incredible hot showers that followed, even more so. The master bath has the best water pressure, ever. The resort is stunning, quiet and safe. We were able to go out and explore the property which is so dreamy! About 15 minutes outside of App State made it easy to get in and out of town for the Graduation we were in town for. Nicole’s condo is well-equipped, labels and notes everywhere which is super helpful. Plenty of extras like bandaids, feminine hygeine products and even towels for spills. Lots of communication which was so nice and reassuring. Perfect accommodations, easy to get in and out. The slider and porch were lovely.

What a great place! Also the host was very kind and great communication! Very nice place and only 10 minutes from Sugar Mountain. Wonderful amenities including pool, hot tub, sauna, library, shop, workout room etc etc. Only (potential) issue which is no fault of the owners is that this is a large 10 story condo complex. On busy days, especially around the weekend it can get very busy during check in and check out and you have to park outside of the guard shack and get shuttled back to the condo. Again, we didn’t really have much of a hang up but others did-just something to keep in mind. Fantastic place, and well equipped! Thank you again!

Great place to stay, beautiful home very clean, very quiet and peaceful area, will definitely stay there again

Nice house but well maintained. In a gated community which is a plus and access in and out was super easy. In walking distance to an upscale/famous restaurant. In strong proximity to Boone and Blowing Rock with a very quick drive to the Parkway.

Whitney & Jay were great hosts—responsive and helpful when we had questions. The space was just as shown/described in the listing. My family of four enjoyed our stay during spring break and our first time skiing during Sugar Mountain’s end-of-season March Madness. We made such wonderful memories here. Be sure to enjoy the most stunning sunrises and sunsets from the balcony.
