A very peaceful spot with an incredible view. Birds and ducks visit the water holes and there are fruit, veggies and eggs available. We very much appreciated the breakfast goodies. It was a delight to stay here!

If you're looking for a place to breathe, relax, contemplate, reflect, play, chat and spend quality time with family and friends, Eagles Nest 2 is perfect. With Mt Roland and a big wide sky as the grand backdrop view from all angles of the house, and with cathedral height windows celebrating every inch of the view, being inside and outside feels seamless. Eagles Nest is an experience. All the rooms are themed and the decor interestingly eclectic. The beds are very comfy. The place is clean. The kitchen has everything one needs. And then there's the outdoor spa (where you run your outdoor bath) tucked discreetly away for a relaxing soak. I think spectacular is the best word to describe the view and the night sky. We even saw a meteor shower from our bed which will be forever etched in my mind, with Mt Roland silhouetted in the background and a squillion million stars twinkling in the night sky (admittedly it was 4.30am - I'd woken to visit the bathroom - lucky timing!). So nice!

This was a great base for exploring the Cradle Mountain area and surrounds. The kids were excited for this stop on our trip for the pool and it did not disappoint, a great highlight with a stunning view of Mt Roland sparkling at sunset. John was wonderful with suggestions of how to enjoy the property including helping with platypus spotting and accessing the silver mine. A great spot for families with so much to enjoy 😉

Our family had a really great time here and everything was as described! Cabin was very comfortable, and John was an extremely kind host. The backdrop of Mt Roland is beautiful and we enjoyed watching the platypus in the pond on site

Moina is ideally located for accessing Cradle Mountain and the surrounds. This place was very peaceful and had everything we needed. Do heed the host's advice and make sure you bring all the food and drink you will need - as the nearest shops are not very near (although there is a cafe nearby that looked to do a good breakfast).

We stayed overnight before heading on to Cradle Mountain the next morning. The location is excellent which is only 45 min drive to get there. The place is off the main track but still easy to find using google map. As the closest town Sheffield is about 30min drive so best to stock up all you need and prepare your own meal. The place offers good facilities to cook your own.

wonderful stay. it is stunning view at the back of house with large field with nice view of mountain. the cattle, donkey, and chicken to greet our family. lovely stay. :)

We loved staying here with our two children - the location is fantastic with beautiful views from the house, which itself is a stunning historic cottage. The beds are v comfortable also. We walked to Alum Cliffs, which was glorious. We saw a platypus in the creek down at Mole Creek. Mole Creek caves are also worth visiting, most especially for the glow worms. Wish we had stayed longer! I can imagine a relaxing week in beautiful Tasmania staying here.

We stayed here before tackling the notorious Overland Track. It is placed very close to Cradle Mountain and gave us some great down time before the treck. Shephard's place was very cozy in the cold weather, large bedrooms and lovely bathtub. He kindly supplied some firewood and a great range of kitchen supplies. Highly recommend!
