Quartz Mountain Escape

One bedroom cabin on 1500 private acres of the Quartz Mountains. The owners live on the same property near the cabin. Hiking, wildlife watching, fishing within walking distance. Cabin is 300 square feet and has two twin bunk beds and one full bed. A full kitchen with an apartment sized fridge. Bathroom with shower. Electric outdoor grill. Fire pit when weather permits. There is a smart tv with inernet. No more than 4 people in or at the cabin at any given time. Additional pet fee of $30

Amenities include Wifi (great for streaming but not great for zoom) tv- DVD player- indoor fireplace- outdoor space (bring outdoor chairs) full kitchen w all basic kitchen needs(coffee maker, pots, pans, silverware, plates and cups, washer/dryer) and a private gate entrance. Great views and lots of wild life around house. Wichita Mtn. Wildlife Refuge and Medicine Park is a short drive away. Pets allowed- no pets on furniture.

Chief Cabin Wichita Mountains Medicine Park Cache

The Chief Cabin at The Lazy Buffalo portrays the life of the Great Comanche Chief Quanah Parker. His original Star House which is on the National Register of Historic Places is less than a mile away. Nestled at the foothills of the mountains and 3 miles from the entrance to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, The Lazy Buffalo offers 13 individually themed cabins. The Chief Cabin sleeps 4 guests and has two queen size beds and full bathroom with walk in tiled shower.

The Cooperton Bank a unique historical property

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway located near the beautiful Wichita Mountains. This beautifully restored cobblestone structure originally housed The Bank of Cooperton. The original tin ceiling and tin shingled roof have been restored. The vault now serves as a spacious bathroom with a vintage vault door. Original slate from the teller counter and early 1900’s teller cage has been used in the decor as well as maintaining the original colors on the walls.

Located near our ranching operation just a mile outside of town, you’ll experience a slower way of life, away from life’s distractions, while enjoying the open air and clear skies. And feel free to walk around and see the cattle and horses on sight, and if you’re lucky, Karen, our llama, might make an appearance as well.

It’s a family lodge not designed to stuff workers or multiple grown men into to save money on multiple hotel rooms.
