Revamped Minimalist Stone Country House

Nestled on the foot of mount Giouchtas, in the picturesque village of Archanes, our stone countryhouse is located in one of the most central and beautiful parts of the area. Archanes are 20 minutes away from the centre of Heraklion(15km), 15 minutes away from Heraklion's International airport, 15 minutes away from the famous Minoan palace of Knossos, as well as 20 minutes away from numerous beautiful beaches. Situated in the center of the most important wine-producing region of Crete, it has a 5000 years old history, while excavations conducted in the last 50 years have brought to light a lot of sites dating back to the Minoan period. The village is also very famous for its typical Cretan architecture. Most of the houses have been restored recently and Archanes has won the second award as “the best restored village in Europe”. The house enjoys a spacious interior and a private garden, which is protected by a peripheral wall. This is a typical characteristic of old Cretan houses of the area. Guests enter the private garden through the gate which then leads to the main building. I am always at the disposal of my guests, so that I can make their holiday problem-free. My guests can reach me at my mobile phone, text me or send a message directly to my inbox. Furthermore, there is a free parking very close to the house. The country house is only 20’ away from the “Nikos Kazantzakis Airport” and the port. The archeological site of Knossos is 15’ away.

Φωλιασμένο μέσα στη γαλήνια αγκαλιά της υπαίθρου, υπάρχει ένα πραγματικά μαγευτικό σπίτι -παλιότερα ήταν καφενείο στην καρδιά του χωριού. Η ομορφιά του είναι χαρακτηριστική , σαν ένας πίνακας που ζωντανεύει. Η εστία αποπνέει μια διαχρονική γοητεία που σας μεταφέρει σε έναν κόσμο ηρεμίας.Για όσους αναζητούν ανάπαυλα από τον πολύβουο κόσμο, αυτό το σπίτι στο χωριό είναι ένα καταφύγιο παρηγοριάς. Κάθε γωνιά ψιθυρίζει τις ιστορίες της χαράς, του γέλιου και των αγαπημένων στιγμών που έχουμε περάσει.

Lovingly restored cottage in traditional village

You will be staying in a cozy house that has everything you need - including air conditioning in all rooms, a balcony with a lovely view of the mountains and a full kitchen. The house is in the middle of Limnes, a lively Greek village, with great authentic tavernas, surrounded by mountains to hike or cycle. In the neighbouring village, Neapoli, you can rent bikes. A ten minute drive takes you down to the sea and to the city of Agios Nikolaos - to shops, Cafés, Restaurants, bars and beaches.

If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of a hectic lifestyle, then this is the place for you! Tucked away in the ancient village of Limnes is Rustic Nook, a secret hideaway for lovers of life and romance. Entering from the narrow lane into the tiny courtyard, you will be whisked away into a bygone age and perhaps get a taste of the essence of what the building stored many moons ago – an old stone wine press. Perfectly located in the adjoining field to the village of Myrsini, "Sotir Ali Stone House" is a beautiful stone built farmhouse that is perched among olive groves, overlooking the gulf of Mirabello. It is built on the exact same spot of an older lodging, a "magatze" as we call it here, that served our family during the olive's harvest. The name of the olive groves around the house is Sotirali and may be a corruption of the Turkish name "Sotir Αli".
