Had a short stay at Barley Croft lodge. Ray was great he rang to check if everything was ok with our lodge and was very polite and helpful. The lodge is in lovely surroundings with lots to do locally. It was ideal for our 1 year old daughter who could wander on the veranda safely and look at the two donkeys in the adjacent field. The lodge has everything you need and is close by the villages of Melbourne and Breedon have places to visit. An all around great experience. Thank you Ray.

Hayley is the perfect host, accepted my request at short notice, very friendly and responsive. The Annex is very well equip has everything you need to make your stay very comfortable, decorated to a high standard, squeaky clean warm and cosy with lots of space....a real Gem! I highly recommend a stay at Haley's Annex you won't be disappointed, I would deferentially book again! Hayley many thanks!

Wonderful place. Kept very clean and has everything you need, we visited Alton Towers as it’s extremely close. Wonderful curry place around the corner. Would definitely recommend.

Wir haben uns wirklich sofort wie zu Hause gefühlt und die Gastgeber haben uns mit Ostereiern, Milch, Brot und so weiter absolut willkommen geheißen. Ich werde die Unterkunft sehr gerne weiter empfehlen, zumal meine Familienmitglieder oft nach Leek kommen.

Alders cottage is a cosy cottage with beautiful interior and a cosy garden which we enjoyed our dinner and ice lollies on. The view is spectacular and the neighbours are really friendly. Although the description of the property says that it is not suitable for children, we took our four children and they loved it; there aren’t any stair gates and the stairs are creaky (for when you want to sneak out of the bedroom during bedtime), however, there were no concerns for the safety of our children. There is a supermarket a short drive away and a local corner shop a 2 minute walk away. Felicity’s responses have been swift and she is very friendly and accommodating. I’d lost my AirPods in the property and without hesitation, Felicity did what she could to get them back to me, as quick as possible. If you’re looking for a break from the city, or need a calm place before going to Alton Tower, I would very much recommend Alders cottage.

We have had the most amazing few days in the Damson pod. It was so clean, spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The outdoor space is beautiful and the children loved playing freely in the sectioned off field. They loved saying hello to the alpacas every morning, and Sarah invited us to come and feed them too which my daughter was delighted about! Sarah made us feel really welcome, provided discounts for the local area and put a lovely little welcome pack with biscuits and drinks which was so nice! We had the best time and wish we could have stayed longer!

A beautiful cottage, with a charming layout, making the most of the fantastic views. We could have sat watching the views for hours and were only sorry we didn't have more time to enjoy the terrace! It was well appointed and felt very homely. We loved how convenient it was for walking into Matlock Bath (only 5 minutes) with its fish and chip shops, ice cream parlours, amusements and lovely riverside walk and 2 play parks. What a great location for us as a family and it was very handy to be able to leave the car at the house and walk to the cable cars for the Heights of Abraham. We appreciated the milk and tin of chocolate biscuits. One tip for anyone who visits is to park at the top of the house, and not take the car around to the front of the house to save having to reverse up the steep hill as the road at the bottom has now been cordoned off. Stayed here for a week for work with a colleague, lovely place. Nice and clean. Would definitely stay again.

What a lovely little cottage, very clean and tidy and well stocked with everything you need in a home away from home. Little touches like the forget me not box and honesty box with holiday essentials should you forget anything (which we did!) was welcomed. Check in and out couldn’t have been easier and the shortbread biacuits and bottle of fizz was a nice touch Beautiful walks literally on the doorstep and easy access to the Tissington trail make this cottage a great place to stay in the Peaks.
