This 1840 Mill Cottage is ideally located for strolling to Darley Abbey Mills, now an exclusive wedding venue with its Michelin listed restaurant, wine bars and Spanish tapas. Located on the banks of the Derwent it's exceptionally placed to walk by the river to Derby cathedral. With courtyard, Wifi, Smart TVs, kitchen, lounge, one double & one queen sized bedroom, small sofa bed and delightful Jack ‘n’ Jill bathroom, this is a rare find near the old Mills. NB. This property is situated on the grounds of a 17th century manor, surrounded by a picturesque 60 acre estate. In the paddocks we have Highland cows, Hebridean sheep, horses and Norwegian Forrest cats. Our animals are mostly rescued and all of our animals are kept strictly as pets. The estate is surrounded by miles of footpaths/bridleways/bike trails that offer enchanted hikes through old mills, sheep dips, and sunken hedgerow paths, many leading to village pubs ! Located in a small village with beautiful countryside views, this spacious, 150 year old character cottage is self-contained with a garden to the front and a courtyard to the rear. It has two bedrooms, a newly refurbished bathroom, beamed living room and spacious kitchen diner. The cottage is 7 miles north of Melton Mowbray on the Notts / Leics border. Originally converted from a barn in the 1850s, it has been recently refurbished to a high standard but still retains many original features.

Ideal for families, walkers, cyclists, gastro enthusiasts or perhaps those just looking to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, The Barn is a brand new, hand-crafted home built by the architect owner who lives in The Old Farmhouse next door. We also welcome well behaved dogs (we just request a modest fee of £20 per dog per stay)

Nottingham, Leicester, Newark, Loughborough, Melton Mowbray and Grantham are all a 20-30 min drive and Lincoln's only 60 mins away. The British Geological Survey (BGS) is a short walk so it's ideally placed for visitors and employees.
