Brent & Jean's Grain Bin Inn (Barn)

This one bedroom Grain Bin converted to a tiny home in the heart of the Midwest, has all of the comforts of home! You have the entire bin to yourself, complete with a kitchenette, full bathroom. You will have to be able to climb stairs to get to the main bed, but there is a futon on the main level. The exterior faces the corral where our cattle and horse may sometimes be, and free range chickens that may roam toward you, especially if they think you have food. We may eventually add more animals!

One mile away from the interstate and 6 miles north of Ellsworth, you’ll love its convenience as much as its coziness, history, and quaint charm. Nestled at the foot of the Loess Hills, this repurposed grain bin is a sight to see. Every inch of the inside has been customized for a relaxing and luxurious experience. Conveniently located just 30 minutes from downtown Omaha, as well as within a quick drive to numerous state parks. There is even an external electrical hook up for campers. Finally, our grain bin includes 20 acres of the Loess Hills to explore. We recommend hiking to the top of the ridge for sunset. It's breath taking.

The Grain Bin Lodge and Retreat

Sorry, no children under the age of 12. This large grain bin has been converted into a rustic two story getaway using reclaimed barn wood and many antiques. The 700 square foot main floor includes a full bath, a vintage retro kitchenette (micro wave, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer, NO OVEN), reclining love seat, a smart tv with WIFI and Direct TV, along with a large dining area with 2 tables. The 500 square foot open loft area includes one full bed and 2 queen beds.

Come enjoy a relaxing get away on beautiful Sugar Bottom Road. A great place for the outdoor enthusiast, no matter the season. Ideal also for quiet relaxation and privacy. We are a small acreage just 15 minutes from Iowa City, 7 minutes from Solon, and 30 minutes from the Cedar Rapids airport. Our converted barn is at the back of the property, behind the house. There is a separate road leading back to the barn for super convenient parking. It’s rustic, cozy, warm and inviting.
