The serene cabin was designed by a Hollywood Oscar Winner to retreat with family to a simpler time, but with modern comforts. Ponderosa is tucked in the mountains along the scenic Great Western Divide. This is not a place for nightlife, shopping, or crowds. This is where you come to breathe pine-scented air, walk among ancient trees, follow the sound of mountain creeks, and fall asleep to the hush of the forest.

Bluebird Cottage Spectacular lake views

Hello and welcome to Bluebird Cottage. We are located 1 mile up a dirt road in the Isabella Highlands overlooking Lake Isabella. Our road is bumpy in and steep in areas, but we have never had a guest not make it up here. We are approximately a 3 hour Drive to Sequoia National Park. We are a 2 hour drive from Death Valley National Park. We are a 4 hour drive from Yosemite. We are 3 hr drive from Los Angeles. Bluebird Cottage is a cozy tiny home with a private outdoor space. Incredible views!

We are in between Sequoia Forest (east) and Sequoia Park (north), with about an hour drive to each. We love to host remote workers/traveling health care providers.

A little gas log stove compliments the Nest central heating, keeping it toasty even as the snow piles high. We are on a 1/2 acre with a lovely meadow just steps from the back porch. A wood burning hot tub next to the fire ring provides a relaxing soak. We are Ponderosa- the sweetest secret in California. Cert #490

But- while you're here, a couple musts are: fishing the Tule River, hiking Dome Rock, the Needles Trail, and playing a game of pool with the locals at the Tavern down the road. Another must is seeing the Giant Sequoias at the Trail of 100 Giants. We are not near the National Parks.
