My apartment is a traditional Victorian building, a 60 second walk to the beach and the Promenade - Portobello is the place to be if you want to experience more local life and enjoy the sea air and many brilliant restaurants, bars and shops whilst still being very close to the centre. Ord’s Loft - Old Town Historic Apartment

Ord’s Loft, situated in White Horse Close, is one of the most desirable and unique properties in Edinburgh’s old town. Positioned on the top floor of what was once the White Horse Coaching Inn, built by Laurence Ord in 1624, the loft is entered by the iconic steps seen in so many photos of Edinburgh. The outlook south over the courtyard is Holyrood Palace, Arthurs Seat, the Scottish Parliament and the Old Town while to the rear it looks up to Regent Road and Calton Hill.

The tower is located in the historic town of Dalkeith and the settlement of Eskbank. 20 minutes by car from Edinburgh airport. A bus service into Edinburgh stops every 10- 15 minutes, the bus stop is a 2 minute walk away. 25 minutes by rail to the Scottish Borders or to the centre of Edinburgh from the local Eskbank Train Station, a 20 minute walk from the tower.

Portobello Beach is 15 minute walk away which is a must see especially with kids they will love it in all weathers. Buses (every 10 minutes) stop at end of the street to city centre which takes about 15/20 minutes. Co-op, post office, and various takeaways at end of street. Travel cot available if needed NO parties we will be contacted to deal with any noise at the property as we only live a few minutes away. Ring doorbell has been set up to monitor this.
