Located on Portage Lake in Chassell, MI, near Houghton with quick access to Michigan Tech University, this rustic family cabin is a great place for either an overnight stay or a longer getaway. It provides a great home base for travel in the Keweenaw peninsula! As a 1930s cabin with a sauna on the lake along with a great view, the focus is on the experience! We find guests who truly enjoy our place are flexible with rustic conditions (not looking for Holiday Inn Express) and young at heart!

This tiny house/cabin features two lofts with queen-sized beds, a wood burning fireplace, dock with paddle boat on two acre pond, access to the Pike River and 20 acres of land for hiking and recreation. Cook in the kitchen or over the outdoor fire pit. Enjoy a wood-fired sauna and cool off with a dip in the pond. Bring a fishing rod and catch dinner out of the pond or the river! No running water but indoor composting toilet and a rain barrel/sink.

Guests have 24/7 access to the host, when necessary, as I live in the detached main house.

One stall of garage parking available so you can go right from car to apartment without dealing with the snow. The driveway is plowed. Wifi, heat, keurig coffee selection included. Washer and dryer are in the spacious bathroom with a shower. Full kitchen and electric fireplace. Stairlift from garage. Queen sized bed with additional pullout couch (about full sz) and toddler bed.

We are approximately 4.8 miles from the Dollar Bay Snow Mobile Trailhead, Great snowshoeing around the property as well. cottage is on a shared driveway with owners. Our home is centrally located in the heart of the Keweenaw. It’s an old mining house that we’ve just recently renovated, so we’re still working on getting it to be at its best for our guests. Historical sites and a wide variety of attractions are found near here, such as: hiking and biking trails, ATV and snowmobile trails (one comes out right across the road), museums, restaurants, and more.

There is one queen size bed along with a futon that folds out into a twin bed and a convertible couch which also folds down into a twin bed. Enjoy snowmobiling, snowshoeing, skiing, 4 wheeling, hiking, kayaking, boating, fishing, hunting and much more!

This cozy 2-bedroom Dollar Bay mobile home is conveniently located about 200 yards from the atv/ snowmobile trail. We have ample parking for trailers. We are about 3 miles from Hancock/ Houghton, and about 3 miles from the airport. An ideal location to tour all the area attractions. No pets or smoking. Crib available on request.
