Large, comfortable space in a beautiful setting for a very low rental price. Nice to have access to kayaks and a canoe, a nice fire pit, large deck and a ping pong table! Very comfortable stay! The beach is rocky so water shoes are needed and it might not suitable for very young kids. My kids are 9 and 11 and loved the cottage and were fine with the beach. Overall great stay and we had everything we needed! Lovely place!

It definitely exceeded our expectations!! Such a cozy and beautiful place. It’s so well thought of because there were games, utensils, books and more. Debbie was quick to respond and suggested great things to do around. A hidden gem for sure. Would highly recommend and return to this place.

I would recommend it to anyone who wants a nice quiet stay hot tub was relaxing and the separate cabin was a plus for couples looking to get away.

Our stay at Renne’s home was absolutely wonderful! The house and garden are beautifully maintained, and the location was perfect for stargazing—peaceful, serene, and away from city lights. Renne is a fantastic host, very helpful and sweet. She made sure we had a great time. We can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely getaway!

Had wonderful time! , little user error on my part when getting there took the wrong turn & had a nice welcome message when entering & had a water bowl for the dog already out for us!! very welcoming! the place was better then the photos & exactly what we're looking for! wish we could have gotten some light from the wood stove oven would have made it "chef kiss"

The Perfect Getaway For the Times. I spent 4 nights and 5 days at The Algonquin Eco Lodge. Due to the uncertain times, I was looking for a place where I could re-connect with nature, meet new people, and explore without the fear or worry of overcrowded areas or cleanliness issues. At first, I was concerned about the shared bathrooms at the Eco Lodge, and this even delayed my booking for a little. However, since experiencing the Eco Lodge first hand, I can say, the cleanliness of the entire lodge was impeccable. I not once was concerned about sharing the bathrooms. They were always minimal of clutter and sparkling clean. My room was also the same. Clean and spotless. The staff were kind and hospitable for the entirety of my stay. Meals were delicious! You could tell that David (the head chef) put a lot of thought into his meal preparations and dishes. Every meal I found to be absolutely wonderful. Stephan and Scott were incredibly knowledgable about the grounds, its history, and its landscape in its entirety. Stephan also took a group of us on a 4-hour trip canoeing, which I must say, was a magical experience. Being my first time canoeing, I felt as though I was in good hands the entire time. I highly recommend this excursion if you want to truly see Canada and its radiant beauty within Algonquin Park. Booking and communication from the on-set was great. Robin was great too! Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to The Eco Lodge especially during the current times. I felt safe, inspired, and genuinely at peace during my stay.

The cabin was great! We went with our two young daughters and it was great. The woods are right there for an easy hike a d the hammock bed was a hit!

A quiet, peaceful location for our 3-night getaway. The chalet felt homey and was accurately represented in the photos and description. The enclosed heated porch was a lovely space, and the sheltered lake view hot tub was a great addition (and well-maintained). We easily communicated with the hosts, who responded promptly and provided thorough, easy-to-follow instructions. Shawville was only a 20-minute drive and provided access to groceries, basic stores, a lovely bakery and had a small-town welcome feel during all of our interactions. Thank you David and Anick :)

This cottage is perfect, view is great, space is cozy yet open, it's lived in so there are plenty of games and personal touches that make you feel "at home", plus the kitchen have everything you need to make a gourmet meal if you so choose. In addition, Michel was super responsive, and the instructions were very clear. Can't wait to go back!

This was a beautiful place to stay. I’m so happy I chose to stay here for a few nights. This was an impressive dome, with all the amenities you could possibly imagine. This was my first “dome” stay, and it did not disappoint. The book was helpful with recommendations for local attractions and checkout details. It was clean and very welcoming. Having my own private deck and hot tub was great. I would absolutely stay here again if I am ever in the area. 10/10 would recommend!

My husband and I had a lovely week-long stay at the Secluded Nature Chalet over Christmas! Lisa's and Ian's attention to detail was evident from the start, with thoughtful touches like a handwritten card and welcome gifts awaiting us upon arrival. The house is cozy yet modern, with an impressively well-equipped kitchen. The bathroom felt luxurious, featuring a rain shower and a large bathtub—especially with the small bath amenities thoughtfully provided by our hosts. The property offers a perfect blend of forested tranquillity and access to Bark Lake. We loved the beautiful view from the house and the daily visits from squirrels on the terrace. The snowshoes and hiking poles the host lent us made exploring the area even more enjoyable. Lisa was very responsive and quick to resolve a minor heating issue. Her attentiveness ensured a smooth and pleasant stay.

Ceci est notre 3e visite. Josée nous reçoit dans son jolie chalet toujours propre. Le rez-de-chaussée a 3 ventilateurs et elle nous a même prêté un ventillateur de fenêtre pour la chambre des maîtres, ce qui fut apprécié lors de la canicule. J'adore le balcon pour le café le matin. Les enfants aiment beaucoup la rive du lac qui est sablonneuse et cette année, il y avait quelques grenouilles pour s'amuser! Lac clair sans "algues longues" dans la région plus creuse. On s'est baigné tous les jours. Le lac est tranquille et excellent pour le kayak matin et soir. Il y a même une île miniature pour les gnomes à l'autre bout du lac. À vous de trouver ;-p Nous sommes allé pendant la semaine de vacances de construction et il y avait quelques pontons et bateaux moteurs mais pas trop pour déranger. Sans être négatif, notez qu'il y beaucoup de marches avec une bonne pente pour se rendre à la plage.

I stayed at this place for the better part of the month of April and it was was perfect. Very clean, very comfortable and the property was beautiful, it was even nice enough outside for us to take out the pedal boat and kayak that they have for use. We felt right at home during our long stay and couldn’t ask for more!

We absolutely loved our getaway to Elisabeth and David's Chalet! It was everything we were hoping for and more. It is a scenic getaway, easy to find, in a whisper quiet location, right on the calmly flowing Coulonge River. The internet was very strong, without a single hiccup. We took in many of the picturesque walking trails, and visited the Chute Coulonge, the canyon that the quiet little river roars through several miles downstream! We loved the beautiful 50s-style appliances and teal theme! We marveled at the solid wood staircase up to the loft and the view of the river is spectacular. We had lots of games, Internet and Satellite TV. Just 10 minutes away is the handy and historic community of Fort Colounge with a grocery store and burger shacks. Elisabeth and David are excellent hosts who wanted us to enjoy their Chalet. Thanks E and D !!!
