Sunny and large 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the sea in a residential area with 3 terraces (2 with a view), a full kitchen, full bathroom with washer, and a separate living area that can be turned into a third sleeping area if needed.
The large apartment includes two bedrooms, both with matrimonial (queen size) beds - one with french doors and a terrace with a sea view, the other with a large window and lots of sun. There is also a full eat-in kitchen with a small terrace (no view), full bathroom with a washing machine (we have ample clotheslines to dry your clothes in the sea air) and a hallway leading to the living area, which includes a sofa, daybed with a trundle bed underneath and large terrace with a table and chairs and - most importantly - a gorgeous sea view. The apartment can sleep as many as 6 people. The kitchen is stocked with plates, glasses, a wine opener (essential!) and the other basics if you care to dine at home and do your shopping at the nearby local markets. There is no air conditioning, but there are plenty of windows to provide a sea breeze and keep you cool.
The apartment is located in a residential and quiet part of the village, and the condominium is full of locals. There is little street noise save for the occasional train passing below. This is not the place to stay if you want to have a party or be loud. Your neighbors include a local beekeeper and a fishermen. They get up very early to go to work, and we ask our guests to please respect our neighbors.
To arrive, we are a 10-minute walk from the train station up a staircase (147 steps to be precise, but a wonderful way to burn off all the pasta and gelato), or 15 minutes up a street, which is slightly longer but has only a few stairs to arrive in the apartment. There are also taxis available in the village that can get you from the train station to the apartment, as well as the little green "bus" of the National Park that comes up the street hourly during the day.
At the bottom of the steps (or street if you choose) to arrive at the apartment, there is the local bread shop, 2 markets for anything you might need, the taxi stand and local bus stop and also several restaurants. The town market is on Thursday in the piazza, but you can find fresh produce at these other markets every day except for Sunday. The beach is right across this street, and you can be out the door of the apartment to the sea in less then 10 minutes.
We're a family of restauranteurs, and have 2 restaurants nearby the apartment - one more fancy and very well known in the region, the other a casual seaside bistro. You receive a 10% discount at both of these Michelin rated restaurants.
As I’m American and in love with the village I live in, I’m more then happy to answer any questions you have about visiting our beautiful little slice of the Riviera and help you organize whatever you need to make your vacation perfect - but the contact you wish to have with me is up to you! You know where I live and where I work, so please feel free to ask me anything, or just enjoy the village and the space quietly if that suits you best. I won't hunt you down if you don't want to be found :)
It's a great spot to explore this charming village and the surrounding hills and beaches of the National Park of the Cinque Terre.
Hope to hear from you soon! Ciao! :)

Atención a los huéspedes
I live next door for any emergencies, and you can find our family in our bed and breakfast in the New Town or in either of our restaurants at the foot of the stairs if you need anything!
Please do not forget to read the house manual for check in information!
Otros aspectos destacables
We do not have great wifi or a tv in english! Please go to our family bnb for wifi or computer issues, they have a good connection there and you can use it for free. I will give you our password but it is VERY slow!
Parking is in the public lot at the foot of the village - there is no free parking in Monterosso, and please note the village is car free, so a rental won't do you any good anyway!
Please do your best to respect the check-in and check-out time. I can usually accommodate late arrivals and check-outs with notice, but I do work 2 jobs so you may need to go to our family bed and breakfast to check in. I will not be able to accommodate arrivals after 10 pm at all.
We kindly ask our guests to respect the fact that this is a condominium in a quieter part of the village full of locals (i.e. absolutely no parties) and please treat our home like you would your own. Please keep noise, especially coming and going in the hallways and on the terrace (sound carries far here), to a minimum. One of your neighbors is a fisherman who gets up before dawn to go to work - please respect that these are people who are not on vacation, but live in a quiet seaside village and would like it to stay that way.
Please no smoking inside the property for respect to future guests.
Though a cleaning fee is included, please use common courtesy so I can make sure the next guest gets into the apartment at a reasonable time :)

A former New Jersey and New Yorker, several years ago I packed up my life and moved to a small seaside village on the Italian Riviera to be with my husband, whose family has lived there for centuries. We run a restaurant on the sea in addition to renting the apartment, and when I'm not serving food, I'm cooking it, eating it, reading about it and writing about it (I have a MA in Food Culture and Studies and am studying for the second round of my beer sommelier certification). I also work as a travel planner for a boutique travel agency here in Europe.
I'm pretty easygoing, which comes with the territory living in Italy, where sometimes things can change your plans quite quickly, and things move at their own pace. I love yoga, reading, exploring and photography.
