Información sobre este anuncio

Stand-alone cabin on our beautiful blueberry farm with magnificent views of the Green Mountains. Isolated rural setting yet minutes away from the charming village of Johnson, Vt, located between the ski meccas of Stowe and Smugglers' Notch.

El alojamiento

Quiet, clean, cozy, the perfect farmstay getaway. The cabin is part of our off-the-grid homestead and farm. We welcome guests to tread lightly on the land and experience an eco-friendly travel alternative. The cabin features a double bed and a set of twin bunkbeds, and bathroom with a shower. The cabin has a cheerful decor, abundant natural daylight and south-facing views of beautiful Mount Sterling. A Rinnai heater and down comforter will keep you cozy on the coldest of Northern Vermont nights, while summertime air is pure and fresh.

Servicios y zonas comunes

We encourage guests to venture out into the varied, hilly topography of the farm, and there are plenty of magical places to explore. Our hill farm is 40 acres of blueberry fields, sheep pasture and mixed hardwoods, abutting hundreds of acres of neighboring fields and forest. This ecology presents ample opportunities for backwoods recreation including hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and river swimming. In the summer enjoy a dip in one of our ponds. Blueberry picking season is mid-July to late August, and we offer tours year-round to our guests to some of our other farm attractions, such as our solar, earth-bermed greenhouse and woodland mushroom yard.

Atención a los huéspedes

We like to leave our guests alone to enjoy some real peace and quiet, however we encourage them to knock on our door, give us a call or send us a text any time with questions. We are more than happy to share information about the surrounding area, and we are friendly and approachable at all times.

Otros aspectos destacables

We aim to make the cabin as family-friendly as possible.

While we don't provide meals, the cabin is minutes away from main street Johnson with cafes and restaurants. Foote Brook Farm store is right across the street, with its awesome selection (open summer and fall) of locally produced farm products and organic produce, while Johnson's Sterling Market with its wide selection of typical staples and great local/regional food is also minutes away.

We encourage guests to bring a cooler for storing food and drinks.

Our homestead is unique because although we are minutes from Main street Johnson, we are off the beaten track, nestled uphill past several farm fields and tracks of woods. Our driveway, turning and climbing almost 1/2 mile, takes on the character of our Northern Vermont seasons. During winter we keep the driveway plowed but 4wd is recommended. During March-April, "mud season" when the snow melts, things tend to be wet and a bit mucky. Summertime mid July-September we have our u-pick blueberry operation open to the public several days of the week. Fall is nice and quiet. We will always try our best to be available to help you make your way up to the homestead. If you are arriving for the first time at night we will try to meet you at the bottom of the driveway. There is always parking near the start of the driveway if you are ever unsure of the weather or conditions.

We offer a two-night minimum stay. No smoking please. No pets. The cabin is powered by an off-the-grid solar array, so we ask guests to be mindful of energy usage. There is electricity in the cabin, but unfortunately we don't have enough power for plug-in appliances that heat water or food with electricity. Off-the-grid living can be very satisfying and enjoyable as long as a few basic energy-saving guidelines are followed.

Ben and Stacey's cottage was peaceful and picturesque, exactly what we were looking for. The property is gorgeous and the town (which you can walk to) is great too. And if you're looking for skiing in the area, Ben and Stacey's place serves as a perfect base. Ben and Stacey were welcoming and warm, greeting us when we arrived and wishing us well as we left. They even offered us snowshoes for exploring their property. I would highly recommend Ben and Stacey's cottage if you're looking for an outdoor adventure or relaxing getaway.

The stay at Ben and Stacey's farm was absolutely awesome. The space was cozy and as advertised and near to plenty of great sight seeing areas and local flavor. Ben was accommodating the entire time even after our arrival got pushed back several hours. Would absolutely recommend this spot to future guests.

Ben was great at giving us directions on the day prior to our arrival. Stacey and Tiger met us as we arrived. The cabin was the perfect setting. This is an off the grid type of place, but was exactly what we were looking for. An FYI though....the propane heater heats up quickly:)
