Located on an organic goji berry farm in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, this historic log cabin is only a 20-minute drive to Taos, near Taos Ski Valley. Full kitchen, bath, and romantic wood stove. Fresh veggies and eggs in summer.

El alojamiento

Taos Goji Eco Retreat & organic goji berry farm is nestled in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. These charming, historic log cabins and casitas are in close proximity to Taos (11 miles) and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River (30 miles). Aldous Huxley Cabin is a 500 sq ft cabin situated on 40 acres of a goji berry farm and is surrounded by national forest.

Part of an eco-lodge, the cottage has a wood fire stove, queen bed and a queen sleeper sofa. The kitchen is fully-equipped with pots, pans, stove, fridge, freezer, microoven. The cabin sleeps 3-4.

This is a great space to kick back in, write, paint or take walks, fish or go skiing. It is close to hiking and fishing and there is a play ground outside. Our cabins are close to natural hot springs and the Hondo river that is swimmable in the summer, For the keen eyes, the surrounding hills have Indian pottery sharts hidden under layers of dirt and sometimes popping up without effort.

During summer we have fresh, organic vegetables available to guests and during late summer and fall there are plenty of apples to pick. We have chickens and minature goats.

Aldous Huxley and D.H. Lawrence lived and wrote in these historical cabins. Gourmet breakfasts and dinners are available at extra charge beginning in mid April and a masseuse, baby sitting and horse trail rides are available by appointment. Pets negotiable and require a security deposit. Absolutely no smoking permitted inside.

We are located in the country side and city slickers may be dismayed by the lack of street lights and the quietude at night. Our internet connection is not always reliable, it gets spotty during rain storms and snow falls. Depending on your cell phone provided your might have to drive to the post office or up the road to get connection. We are not a motel or hotel, our place is rustic. It is, however, a perfect place for creative individuals who desire to take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. This is also an introduction to camping or glamping for families who want a degree of comfort before venturing out in the wild. For city children, this is a great place to experience country living and getting a short wean from TV and computer games. Don't panic, Taos is a short drive away!
Taos Ski Valley reminds us of the Swiss/French/Austrian founders' roots blended with the traditions and customs of the local Hispanic and Pueblo Indian cultures. Being the home of extreme skiing, this is just not a resort for experts, with many beginner and intermediate runs. The ski school is one of the nation's best. It also has an excellent children's day care and ski facility, both skiers and snowboarders are welcome.
Taos is home to more than twenty sites on the National Register of Historic Places. The Taos Pueblo has been occupied for nearly a millennium and is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the Unites States. The Taos Pueblo was added as an Unesco World Heritage Site in 1992 as one of the most significant historical cultural landmarks in the world;
There are many ways to explore art in Taos. Taos is an old art colony since 1899. Some of the artists' studios have been preserved and may be viewed by visitors. Many of the historic sites are homes and studios of artists, including the Mabel Dodge Luhan House,Eanger Irving Couse House and Studio, Joseph Henry Sharp Studios, the Leon Gaspard House, the Couse/Sharp Historic Site and the Ernest Martin Hennings House. On Ledoux Street, just south of the Taos Plaza, are the Ernest L. Blumenschein House and Harwood House.
There are three Art Museums in Taos: Harwood Museum of Art, Taos Art Museum and Millicent Rogers Museum that provide art from the pueblo Native Americans, Taos Society of Artists and modern and contemporary artists of the Taos art colony. The town has numerous art galleries and there are several houses of the Taos Society of Artists.

Wonderful hosts that make you feel at home. Great for families (playground, lots of animals on the farm) and for guest with dogs. Very quiet. Close to some good hikes. Cabin: okay-good. Terrace for relaxing.

Quiet, stars, grasshoppers, chickens and dirt. Nothing to distract my kids from playing and running. Will definitely be back ️

The hosts are so welcoming and a joy to talk to. The farm is peaceful and surrounded by striking vistas. The Huxley cabin was comfortable, private, and spacious. We brought our six month old for our first family vacation and Taos Goji was perfect- frolicking kids, chickens, puppies, alpacas, and goats all kept her entertained. It was quiet at night and in the early morning, so we were all well rested. The farm is an excellent jumping-off point for many adventure opportunities in the area- we explored Taos Ski Valley, Questa, and Red River, all easy and scenic drives. We will definitely be back to support these lovely people and unwind again in beautiful San Cristobal canyon!

Very quiet and pretty setting. Fun and funky cabin with one bed and nice mattress provided for floor sleeping. Close to where we wanted to visit. Nice breezes and night air. We were greeted by the hosts, Eric and Sia and enjoyed their grandson as well. He brought us eggs!

Awesome little cabin tucked away on a scenic farm. About a 10 minute drive from town and close to other great places for sightseeing and hiking. My boyfriend and I had a lovely time. We would absolutely visit again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in New Mexico.

We have returned to NM after many years working as professionals in stuffy offices. Our family love the experience of creating an eco friendly place for friends and others who wish to be close to nature and live of the land.

We love to cook and entertain and arrange frequent dinners, potlucks and wine tasting with our guests and friends. Creating an eco friendly environment is an ongoing process. Our berries, fruits and vegetables are organically cultivated. The chickens are free ranging and the growth season has been extended by a newly constructed green house.

All of our casitas and cabins have wood fire stoves. The cabins are also heated by energy efficient air-heat pumps powered by solar.
Eventually we would like to be totally off the grid and supply all of our electricity from wind and solar energy. The eco lodge is part of a recycling program and uses only use eco friendly cleaners, dish and laundry detergents. A grey water system and a large holding pond with well and acequia water are being created to irrigate our expanding Goji plantation. The Eco lodge's water comes from four deep wells, fed by mountain aquafirs. Here is a recent article in Taos News about our goji berry farm.

Eric, my husband and I are avid travelers and our children journeyed with us from the time they were babies. Now our two older children are also Airbnb hosts. We look forward to seeing you at our farm!
