Carlisle is a rural country town; filled with conservation land, Great Brook State park, hiking trails and biking territory. Concord is right next door - Thoreau country. The house overlooks the 3 acres of land out back and the woods behind. Ten minute drive into picturesque Concord Center and to catch the train to Boston and Cambridge. Walking trails and bike rides can be accessed just down the road. Not far to Walden Pond, Old North Bridge, canoe rentals, bird watching, cross country skiing. You can settle into feeling like you’ve retreated to the country, or head into Concord for good coffee or excellent food.

The kitchen has a 12’ ceiling, wood stove, and views over the back yard and woods. Three bedrooms are on the second floor and one is on the third floor. The bedrooms are part of the original c.1725 house and have low (6’3”) ceilings, decorative, original fireplaces. One full bathroom is on the first floor with laundry and a shower. The other bathroom is on the second floor with a bathtub.
Over the summer, the house is available for weekly, monthly or longer rental.

Please note we are a very active family of four, and so the space will be neat and clean, but not museum-quality or entirely clutter-free! Come and make yourselves feel at home in our well-loved and lived-in space!

This is an historic, rural town, rich in history and land with farms and farm stands. There is a henhouse on property with currently seven hens that give farm fresh eggs daily.
*There is no smoking on the premises.
*Pets will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
*The house is on a well and septic system, which means to go easy on the plumbing and not put anything down toilets other than TP. Food should not go down the kitchen drain but be put in compost or garbage.
*Garbage should be put in garage, or for extended stays, be taken to the town dump.
*Hens in henhouse should not be disturbed or let out to roam.
