An English version will follow. Definitivamente volveremos! Our stay at Jacquelyn and Colins AB&B was an unforgetable experience. Everything is as showed in the pictures. You can feel the history of the old building in its arquitecture, in the old wood floor and in the fireplace on each room. There is a front balcony and a private sun deck near the kitchen. The room is big and bathroom is bright with everything needed for your stay. After 5 gorgeous days in NOLA, we didnt want to leave. The apartment is at a perfect and safe location. Close enough to walk down to the quarters, but far enough to enjoy a peaceful setting. We definetely are going back!

Jacquelyn's place was great! We had all the comforts of home and we felt safe in the area. We enjoyed being within walking distance to everything but just out of earshot of all the hustle and bustle! Communication was great, while we didn't need to contact the hosts during the stay, everything was well explained beforehand and the ease of checking in was perfect. Thanks, Jacquelyn and Barrett! We will be back.

Jacquelyn's place is a super cute apartment to stay in. We stayed in the apartment upstairs for 4 days and we were very happy with our accommodations. There's a restaurant about 10 steps from the house called Bao Noodle and when I tell you their dumplings are to die for.... I mean it! For breakfast, you can walk about 3 blocks down and have a yummy meal. The neighborhood is very quiet. The apartment has a full kitchen with a small deck if you decide to stay in and cook. Bennett was available to answer any questions and she was so sweet. I really enjoyed my stay and when I didn't feel like getting out I could just lounge and watch TV, this spot is a great choice if your wanting to be close enough to everything but still want to enjoy your peace and quiet.

If you'd like to experience New Orleans residential life near the French Quarter, the Marigny (pronounced mer uh knee) area is right for you. The neighborhood of mostly shotgun style homes is a slice of real NOLA life, with some being run down, some largely untouched with the exception of bright paint, and a few being renovated. The walk to the French Quarter is just about a mile, and we felt safe although we only walked during the day. Uber/Lyft to the quarter is only a few dollars. One of the best parts of the address is the breakfast/lunch spot CAKE, which is just down Chartres (opposing the one way traffic) about three blocks. This particular space is, how other reviewers have described, old, which we liked. It was clean, and Barrett, the manager, was available, communicative, and responsive for any need. The kitchen is big enough to cook in (but why cook when there is such good food nearby?) and has regular sized appliances including a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. Coffee pot, coffee, and filters were at the ready. The bed was comfortable, and having a large screen TV in both the living room and the bedroom were nice to have. There were also guests downstairs, but we rarely heard them, and there was minimal street noise. The reasons for the four stars instead of five are: 1) Directly across the street is a junky lot with RV-type campers that people stay in (one day when I was walking past the window a man emerged naked to come out and get a cigarette). 2) The bathroom is modern, but the water pressure and cheap shower head make for a skimpy shower that means it takes forever to rinse off (there is no bathtub). 3) The balconies are mostly for show--the one off the kitchen does have a table and chairs but it is in the direct sun from morning through early afternoon so is not a place in the warmer months where you can enjoy your morning coffee.

Anna, Thank you for taking time a write a review. I am so glad that you had everything you needed and that I was able to accommodate your special requests (guest accommodations/early check in times/etc) during your stay. To touch on the things you brought up: 1) The warehouse across the street has a full time resident that lives in his RV that is parked out back because the interior his warehouse is a working blacksmith shop. You can only see his RV if you are on the highest balcony and looking over his fence which is 10 feet tall. If you are squeamish about people dressing inappropriately or not dressing at all New Orleans is not the place to be. It is nuts down here. 2) We have not had anyone else complain about our water pressure or the shower size. 3) The balcony of the kitchen is definitely not just for show. It is a lovely place to have your coffee in the early morning and wine in the evening. June marks the beginning of summer so any outdoor space is going to be blazing whether you are in the sun or in the shade.

Our host was great and always responded right away to any questions or concerns we had. As a group of 3 girls I would not stay here again only because it doesn't seem like the safest neighborhood and we were told but almost all of our drivers to be careful in the area and we didn't feel safe enough to walk anywhere. The only other thing that again is not our host's fault at all is that if you are not going to party the whole time you may not want to stay - it just depends who is renting the downstairs unit. The night we went to be early(11pm) the people down starts were up all night partying and you can hear everything so we all had a hard time sleeping.

Respuesta de Jacquelyn:
The Marigny is completely safe. Just like in any large city we do not recommend walking alone in the dark. Also, the guest downstairs were a couple and their two children who were 8 and 11. They definitely weren't partying all night, but they could have been too loud in the pool. If you had mentioned it to me I could have shot them a quick text to remedy the situation. Your reservation was for 2. Our home only sleeps 2 per our license. I do not appreciate you sneaking a 3rd guest without prior approval. It is inappropriate and could create penalties and fines on our from the city. Please be more cautious.

This apartment is so chic and atmospheric, I just adored it! It's quite spacious, the balcony off the kitchen is a lovely, quiet place to relax with coffee, and the couch and bed are both super comfy. This is maybe the only AirBnB place I've ever stayed in that had proper, sharp knives in the kitchen! The location is in an up and coming area, ten minutes walk to Frenchman's Street, a little further to the Quarter. There is a lot of really cool things to explore down the road the other direction into Bywater, too, including some amazing restaurants. I felt right at home, and would go back in a heartbeat. Barrett was easy to reach, responsive and helpful--a pleasure.

I live in New Orleans with my fiance Colin who was grew up in New Orleans and knows a lot about this wonderful city. We love to escape the city with wilderness getaways involving tent camping, mountain biking, swimming and cooking over an open fire. Colin loves traveling to Denver, while I love beach get-aways with coral reef snorkeling. We are currently living part time in Denver for work and pleasure.

As hosts, my property manager and I strive to offer you an authentic, local experience. We love helping our guests get around town with the best restaurant & bar recommendations along with where to see the best local live music and other events going on around town.
