The laundry room has soap for you, and there's an iron and ironing board.

First of all, Safety: this is walk-around-at-night-and-arrive-in-the-dark-safe. Ponce/Vidal and Clairemont Estates is in the safest "zone" of all zones in Decatur; but that's kind of splitting hairs on a beautiful head of hair.
I assume you're looking here because you have already been sold on Decatur, right?
5 minute walk to MARTA train, SIX banks, Kroger grocery and about 4 little specialty markets, TWO local farmers markets, about THIRTY restaurants, TWO elementarys, THE high school, THE middle school, Emory's (free!!) Shuttle, SEVEN churches, THREE yogurt shops, FOUR coffee houses, Courthouse, Post Office, CVS, FOUR brewpubs, Post Office, tons o retail, THREE music venues, Agnes Scott College!! ONE magical doughnut shop, THREE Pizzarias, All that in 2-10 minutes walk...
New York Times: Decatur is the “Gastronomic Equivalent of Berkeley or Brooklyn” in Thriving Atlanta Food Scene

Don't get me started on our festivals: there's one for Books, Beer, Wine, Beach, Art, Makers, Blues, BBQ... no kidding. i swear next year we'll have a Zombie festival (we've had a rash of filming of zombie movies. Decatur being used for either the PRE-apocalyptic scenes or the sole remaining unspoiled Post-apocalyptic refuge)

3 blocks from MARTA train.
1 block from free Emory Shuttle

Decatur is, in fact, STILL, Georgia's most walkable city.
Make sure you download the Decatur, GA app!!
I have another AirBnB listing in Decatur, it's a 2BR and is 1,100 square feet. It's called Tree-Lined Private Decatur Duplex".

The apartment is not "shared" . it's your private apartment. This apt is about 500sq'; not lots of spreading-out room for a group, living room, bedroom, bathroom, eat-in kitchen. This is what realtors call a "terrace apartment", which means you walk in on ground level but while the back has full size window they are at shoulder height. NOT a basement apartment.

you do NOT need a car.
Walk 5 minutes to Decatur train station, which is MARTA.
Walk 4 minutes to Emory's free shuttle to and from campus.
Otherwise, see guidebook for how utterly walkable this is.

Emory, Druid Hills, Dekalb Hospital, Veterans Administration, Lake Claire, Candler Park, LIttle Five Points, Inman Park, Decatur, Kirkwood, Atlanta, Midtown, World Health , WHO, Edgewood, Clifton, East Lake, Agnes Scott, MARTA, Dekalb Medical Center, Clairemont, Ponce, Ponce de Leon, Midtown, Woodruff Arts, Variety Playhouse, Verizon Theater, Dad's Garage, Beltline, Piedmont, Farmers Market, Book Festival , Arts Festival, (phone number hidden)

The Honey pot in the kitchen is from my bees!
It's a triplex, the other two apts are long-term tenants. You share NO walls, but Very Civilized Behavior is expected. Tons of families and little kids; not asking anyone to be a mentor but... just sayin'
Also, if your profile on Air BnB is not yet "verified", you'll need to do that by checkin time. I'm OK if we book without verification completed yet.

Free street parking, laundry room is 15 steps from your front door. There's a little two top table outside your front door.

An official AirBnB photographer took the pictures!!
Bedroom has a Queen bed.
Living room has pullout sofa and a double futon sofa..

From NY Times April 2015---
Equal parts molasses-drawled Southern and au courant, Decatur, Ga., has in the last 20 years recast itself from the sleepy DeKalb County seat catering to commuting government nine-to-fivers to one of the South’s trendsetters. Residents say the township, six miles from Atlanta proper, is where “Mayberry meets Berkeley.” Bordered by Emory University and Agnes Scott College, Decatur is anchored by a late 19th-century courthouse (now the DeKalb History Center) and a leafy square dense with some of the state’s best restaurants, pubs and shops. The walkable downtown hosts more than three dozen festivals a year

The MARTA train is, no kidding, a seven minute walk!!! Then a 15 minute ride to downtown ATL (acquarium, Falcons, Coke, CNN) or another 20 minutes to ATL airport
Emory has a free shuttle that comes within 2 blocks of the house!! it's called the Cliff (as in Clifton Corridor)
Agnes Scott campus is a 10 minute walk.
Decatur High School is a 8 minute walk.
Dekalb County Courthouse is a 7 minute walk.
Groceries from Kroger (or Sat and Wednesday farmers' markets) are a 8 minute walk.

Late check-ins are never a problem since we'll assign you a door code, and you don't need to meet for your 'key".

Great location Truly downtown and walkable to everything one needs for a stay in Decatur. Nice residential neighborhood. Scott communicated well and timely before and during stay. Will definitely come back.

Fantastic location and great value. Walking distance to multiple restaurants/pubs and public transportation. Neighborhood appears very safe and neighbors friendly enough to wave hello every day. Only negative was a very firm mattress that can easily be fixed with a pad/topper. We had difficulty getting comfortable to sleep due to this. However, we would definitely consider rebooking in the future if that was adjusted. Scott and Margot made it easy to check in/out without a hassle. They also included some snacks and tea with local honey!

You can't beat this location in the heart of downtown Decatur neighborhood on a beautiful tree lined street. The apartment is cozy and well furnished. One important point to note- this is a basement apartment and the main house upstairs is also an air bnb rental. The noise from people walking around upstairs projects pretty loudly and you should consider this if you are a light sleeper. I think we also happened to be unlucky in that there were several people staying upstairs this same weekend who happened to stay up extremely late.

Not a basement apartment. You walk in on the ground floor, yet the back of the apartment has windows at hip level and above. "Terrace apartment.

Decatur native, attorney, married to Atlanta native, attorney, 3 kids, urban gardener with about 750,000 bees and exactly 26 laying hens. Margot (9th grader!!) helps me with me pretty much everything in the Airbnb business. I couldn't have imagined what an incredible business experience this has been for a young lady. Letting her convert a few of our apartments into short-term rentals has given her first-hand business experiences that babysitting just doesn't cover!!
