Our sophisticated two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with awesome views is in the heart of the action. Next to Crown Casino: restaurants, theatres, and movies are all on your doorstop. With amazing views, central location and chic decor and furnishings this luxury 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment is a perfect location for a romantic holiday, corporate accommodation or families looking for that special place.

The main bedroom is comfortably appointed with a King bed, built in wardrobe and en suite. It also has a second television with Foxtel access.

The second bedroom is furnished with a Split King bed. This bed can zip together into a King, or unzip into Two Singles.

We can also accommodate a fifth person in a fold out single bed.

Open plan living has a five seater modular leather sofa, and dining table. There are six chairs in the apartment which easily fit around the table. The kitchen is full equipped with full size fridge, all cutlery, utensils and equipment required to cook.

The main bathroom has a bath, shower over bath and a euro laundry equipped with a washing machine and clothes dryer.

The spectacular views can be enjoyed from every room in the apartment, and from the balcony.

PLEASE NOTE - we have a minimum stay of five nights unless you are filling a gap. If you can see a gap in our calendar which you would like to fill, but the booking system will not allow you to, please message us. We do not take one night stays.

Gem Apartments employ full time staff who are located nearby to assist our guests as necessary. Staff will meet guests on arrival, and we can also store luggage prior to check in, or after checkout, during business hours.

I live in this neighbourhood and I love it because you have the best of both worlds. In your immediate proximity is vibrant Southbank with 100's of restaurants and bars, Crown Casino, live shows, movie theatres, laser skirmish, ten pin bowling, South Wharf shopping centre and dining precinct and Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The cbd itself is a short walk across the river, and there is a tram stop outside the neighbouring building which takes you into the city in one direction and to St Kilda beach in the other direction.

Directly behind the apartment is South Melbourne Village, which has large supermarkets, fresh food farmers markets, and boutique shopping, coffee and dining. We live in the area with three small children and it is wonderful to have all the excitement of the city, but all the necessities of day to day living also at your fingertips.

South Melbourne Village is also a historic precinct which has been largely preserved. If you take a walk down the side streets you will find streets and streets of preserved buildings dating back to the early 1800's.

The apartment is less than a two minute walk from a number of different tram stops / tram lines. The cities major train station are a ten to fifteen minute walk. We provide detailed information on Melbourne's public transport on our confirmation emails, and also information on how to get from the airport.

This apartment is small but nice. Southbank is a great area with lots of restaurants, cafes and bars in walking distance (be prepared to pay tourist prices). The apartment is right at the south end and looks directly into a massive hotel complex. You can see into every room if their curtains are open (and vice versa). There is a view of the river if you stand behind the dining table. We moved the armchairs so we could sit and look at the river rather than the hotel guests. Also, bright lights in the hotel common areas stay on all night and the blinds in the master don't meet in the corner so they shine right in your face all night. Also, even though the apartment is on a high floor there is loud traffic noise all night being opposite the Casino. Unless you're a heavy sleeper you'll need earplugs and an eye mask. Apartment is operated by an apartment rental company so it's not really a true AirBnb - more like an apartment hotel. Don't expect a bottle of wine or fruit like you get at the great AirBnb's. The only amenities are a small sachet of dish liquid and a small packet of washing powder. Hotel-like set of mini shampoo etc. There was some tea and coffee but no kitchen basics so if you want to cook you'll have to buy every single item (including salt and pepper). If you plan to eat all meals out it won't be a problem and there are certainly many choices there - just pretty overpriced ones. Washer and dryer were handy. Public transport is all close by - although this is true of most of Melbourne. A small grocery and wine store on the corner. I did contact the host about the landline not working - I had some trouble activating my local SIM and needed to make some calls. She said 'they'd never had that problem before' and did nothing about it other than suggesting I check the cables were all connected properly. Was left feeling like I was a bit of a hassle for them. Also, instructions are to leave the keys in the apartment but once you do there's no way to get into the car park to get your car. Luckily another resident let us into the car park. We then couldn't get OUT of the car park without the key. This was super stressful as we needed to get to the airport for a flight. Again, luckily after a bit a guest came out with garbage and opened the gate for us. Overall the apartment is clean but a bit soulless and sterile. It's ok but there are other buildings in Southbank that are quieter with a better aspect for about the same price. We always stay at Southbank when we're in Melbourne. Just won't be back to this one. Not terrible, but certainly not fantastic.

Convenient location right next to Crown. Tram stop at the door. Clean, tidy and comfortable apartment. Great for a family stay.

Kellie's place was in an excellent location as we attended a conference at the Exhibition Centre which was a very short walk from the apartment. Breakfast at the Crown Casino which was across the road, was also really convenient.

All's a breeze in this well appointed apartment only 5 minutes walk to the Convention Centre. This is a great and far more comfortable and affordable alternative to hotel accommodation for longer business trips if, like me, you like a cup of tea on your own terms and you have a budget to stick to. I shared with a colleague and there was plenty of private as well as shared space with this two beds and two bath apartment. There is a supermarket on the ground floor also plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby but all the basics are provided to get you started so you can relax. This dishwasher and washing machine and tumble dryer were particularly welcomed as I arrived on week two of my trip. All is easy to use and any questions are met with a warm response from Kellie and her colleagues. We will be back next year and will definitely consider using the apartments again! Thanks Kellie!

We chose to stay here due to it's close proximity to the convention centre as we were attending a conference, and we were not disappointed! Only a short walk away, the convention centre was easily assessable and we could take nice evening strolls along the Yarra river as well. The apartment was spacious and well furnished, with more than enough space for the four of us. The host was easily contactable and replies promptly, overall a great experience!

This apartment was excellent for two couples for a week at the Australian Open tennis. It is light-filled and comfortable with sufficient kitchen equipment, wifi and cable TV. Great to have a grocery store on the first floor of the apartment block. The location just south of the river, with a tram stop immediately in front of the building, is very convenient for getting to Melbourne Park and around the CBD. Unfortunately, the air conditioner broke before we arrived and, even though staff made good faith efforts to accommodate us, it could not be repaired during our stay. As it was not a super-hot week and we were out all day anyway, luckily this turned out to be just a minor inconvenience. I definitely would stay here again.

Despite a problem related the air conditioning, the agency helps us a lot and has been very kind (they provided us a lot of fans) and they agreed as a concequence of this inconveniet to apply a discount. Therefor we are very happy of this professionalism. The apartment was outstanding not only due to the location (close to the Crown casino) but also because very clean and similar to the pictures provided in airbnb. To have had the opportunity to celebrate Xmas on the 25th floor was a unique and very exciting experience.

My name is Kellie and I started Gem Apartments with one fantastic apartment in 2009. We have since grown to manage a network of 25 apartments around Southbank.

Gem Apartments successfully straddles the traditional serviced apartment market / and individual holiday market by keeping strict control over all of our apartments.

Our apartments are all furnished and fitted out by Gem Apartments to the same standard, and have the same inclusions.

I work full time in the business out of an office on Whiteman Street, and am available for our guests each day.

I oversee each apartment on a daily basis to ensure that each apartment is kept to the standard of Gem Apartments. Value Executive Accommodation with all the touches of home.

Our business is structured to offer our guests all the benefits of individually owned and operated holiday apartments, but with the staff and professionalism behind it to offer our guests peace of mind if something does go wrong.
