Gaetano is the best AirBnB host!! He is very communicative, warm & friendly, and offers great suggestions for things to do in the area. The apartment is in an old palace (!!!), with a breathtaking atrium and big old wooden doors that open to the street. It is literally a 5min walk to the train station so it is super convenient for day trips by train. Also, you are just surrounded by the liveliness & diversity of Palermo! We loved waking up (not too early!) to the sounds of the market nearby - guys selling fresh produce, fresh seafood, fresh meat, and even a bunch of flea market-type stuff. Gaetano provided us with a helpful map which we used almost every moment! The apartment itself is super clean and very comfortable, with a fully-stocked kitchen and bathroom. There was even an AC unit, but we found we didn't really need it; Gaetano also provided a fan, so we just used that and kept the window open to stay cool & comfortable. Would absolutely recommend this, especially if it's your first time in Sicily (like it was for us)!
