I stayed here for ten days, so have a good sense of the experience, both from my own stay and from speaking with the other guests who visited while I was there. While I went to an Airbnb for a room, I also hoped to meet interesting people. Pat was the consummate host. She anticipated my (and the other guests') needs, and was quick to address any wishes I might have. She could not have been a more thoughtful and considerate host. When you enter Pat's house, you are surrounded by Americana and transported back to the 1940s. Decor ranges from a classic needlepoint of "Home Sweet Home" hung near the (working) wood-burning fireplace to a "roosters" theme carried throughout. The home is historic, dating back to the 1920s, but you would not know it from the fully updated bathrooms! It is a wonderful experience to step from a restful home into a bathroom with a seemingly unlimited supply of hot water :) . The bedrooms themselves are functional: in my room (the "West") I had a queen-size bed, two dressers, a cedar-lined box filled with quilts (of Americana style, of course, and one of roosters), a desk, a rocking chair by the window, and a full-size closet. A ceiling fan and my own in-window air conditioner rounded out the room. Outdoors I found a smorgasbord of plants -- every sort of bush and flower. In the back of the yard was a centerpiece firepit where you can sit outside, make s'mores (my kids did), catch fireflies (my kids did that, too) and admire the stars (which I did). And Pat graciously let me and another guest cook dinner for the others and their friends and we all sat outside to enjoy it. The high point outdoors were the hens. There are 19, of every breed and age. Pat was wonderful with my kids (ages 8 and 11), patiently teaching them how to catch and hold them the birds. (It turns out that Pat spent 8 years teaching elementary school, and had raised a daughter of her own, so It is no surprise she was so good with my kids and with the other children staying in the house.) All of the kids got to name new chicks as they entered the flock: "El Burrito", "Henry," "Mocha," and "Silky." When I wanted a little time for myself, I would give the kids permission to go to the back yard and play with the chickens, collect the new eggs, play basketball, play badminton, or do whatever else it is that kids want to do in a safe outdoors backyard space. A major part of the experience is breakfast. Every day Pat serves something new, exactly as promised on the Airbnb website, and exactly as described. My favorite was the scrambled eggs made from her organic free-range eggs, brought inside straight from the henhouse. I was a big fan of the blue-green eggs. Yes, the shells from one particular breed are blue-green....

Communication with Pat before and during our stay was great. My husband and I stayed at Pats while scouting the D&R canal on our bikes. Pat's house is located less than a mile from the canal. It was great that there are convenience sores, a couple of really nice restaurants and quick bites ones at walking distance, because we had no car and we were done with biking for the day! Pat has a lovely house, a great backyard, and a coup full of chickens that were more than happy to hang around us. The day of our departure, while Pat was cooking delicious pancakes and bacon, we had a long interesting chat. We had a great time at Pat's and we would recommend other guests to stay at Pat's. We are actually planning on coming back in the fall. (this time we will run the canal!)

This house is exactly as described and Pat is the most wonderful host. She has everything you need! Her breakfasts are delicious and ready when you are (or she will leave it for you, or you can eat out..whatever you want). You'll find your room to be comfortable with a clean bathroom that may be shared with one other guest if the other room is occupied. Everything is as described. If you want to sit outside in her yard and watch the chickens as you enjoy your coffee, or stay in your room. It is all up to you. The cats are really great! As a host, Pat is a great person to chat with if you feel like chatting. If not, she will respect your privacy and you won't even notice her. I only stayed for three nights, mainly for business in NJ. The house is LITERALLY five minutes from TTN airport so it is a wonderful alternative to a hotel. Also, the I-95 exit is right down the street so you can easily hop on the highway. I would highly recommend this home.

Pat's place was definitely for those who want the full BnB experience and not just a place to stay. Pat is warm and friendly, and so hospitable. The room was beautifully decorated, the bed was so comfortable, and the attention to detail in every aspect of my stay was incredible! I loved sitting outside with the chickens for morning coffee. I'll definitely be back, and I wholeheartedly recommend this listing!

Stayed at Pat's home for ~ a week. Pat is gracious host - even made me wonderful breakfast on numerous occasions. The room was spacious and well appointed. It was stocked with fruits/breakfast bars/ drinking water- came in handy since I just moved to this area from Boston. We had some interesting debates. Wish I had more time to interact with Pat- however I just started a new job. Overall I would say that her place offers the right balance between privacy and interaction with the host. I would highly recommend Pat's home to anyone visiting the Princeton area.

Definitely one of the best Airbnb experiences we have ever had! Pat is an awesome host, she is very thoughtful and she treats her guests with kindness and hospitality. Pat responded our message quickly and made accommodation for our late arrival, and she welcomed us in person with her friendly cats and showed us around her house. The bedroom we stayed in was very cosy and neat, the bed was very comfortable. She even lit up candles and prepared some fruits and cookies for us! The bathroom was clean and fully equipped, we had no trouble finding everything we needed. We had an AMAZING breakfast the next morning. Pat prepared various beverages and homemade food for us, and they were so delicious! When she was cooking, we had a chance to meet her little animal friends in the backyard, we fed her hens and even picked up some eggs, which was truly a unique experience for us! We had a wonderful stay and would like to thank Pat for everything she has done for us, hope we will come back and visit again someday! Strongly recommend to everybody. :)
