Location is quite difficult to find especially at night and under cold weather as the GPS cannot locate the correct place. Luckily got Luigi(Paolo's dad) to pick us up and send us for dinner. Not easy for communication but still can communicate under body language. Luigi is such a wonderful man!!

The house is spacious and comfortable, with a separate floor for the guests. Quiet, pleasant, calm and safe place. Very pretty surrounding, close to a small town. Very suitable also for families with children, there are small animals and a huge garden. The host was very friendly and helpful, thank you again very much for everything!

I've now finished my month-long "tour" of Italy with my wife and 2-yr old, staying in a total of 6 Airbnb properties so I can make comparisons. We stayed in a spare grandma flat, in people's own homes that they vacated for us, in the hobby room in the basement, in an environment that was more like visiting a long lost uncle - basically in all sorts of "spare" accommodation that the good hosts of Italy were offering for rent on Airbnb. So to Paolo's place in Ponte do Piave. First of all, we never met Paolo and I think it was his wife who I talked to on the phone when we arrived outside the church in Ponte do Piave. We were instructed to go to the church because we couldn't get an exact address from Paolo - I can understand why: we would never have found it on any satnav GPS application! So I can't say much about Paolo. But we can say a lot about Luigi, Paolo's dad, as it was he who led us to his house (he on his bike, we in our car) in the middle of the vineyards. How to describe our experience? How to evaluate the time we spent with Luigi in his remote house? Let's start with facts: - the house is about 20 minutes through the vineyards on foot to the town centre - Guests have the flat on the upper floor, Luigi lives downstairs - The upper flat has 2 bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and an elegant living-room, and a balcony. It's spacious enough for two young families, although the bathroom with toilet is smallish. - The water in the taps is rusty and not fit for drinking - The kitchen was equipped with plenty of bottled water and Italian breakfast items - We were attacked continuously by mosquitoes all over Italy, but here they were the most vicious (thanks to the nearby stream and river) - despite 2 electronic mosquito repellents - The location is great for driving around (or even better, biking around) different vineyards in the vicinity and tasting (and buying) - Just under the bridge across the Piave leading into the town there is a nice spot for swimming (paddling) in the river - Treviso is worth a visit and we took the train from there for a day trip to Venice - We didn't make it to any beaches, but it appears that several are within a 30-45 minute drive - I didn't have any time to investigate, but the area will be of interest to anybody with an interest in WWI (and possibly WWII) And let's finish with impressions: - Luigi is a warm-hearted, pleasant, helpful man in his retirement, having retired from the world to his rural paradise - His large vegetable and fruit garden provides an oasis amongst the vineyards (I love the banana trees!) - It's essentially a little farm: apart from fruit and vegetables, he breeds a variety of...

Paolo is a true superhost. He knows exactly how to treat his guests so that they enjoy their stay. We arrived a bit late and he waited for us. In the morning made us a delicious coffee and gave recommendations for what to visit in Venice. His house is clean and in a nice quiet area so we were well rested. Good area for cycling and running as there are miles and miles of footpaths.

"Relax sul Piave" Its a small Villa, 40 min far from Venezia. The Apartment where we stay had his own entrance and was completely independent. From the moment we arrive Luigi (Paolo´s father) was there to help in anything he could, he speaks pretty good german and spanish. The place is just lovely. A pretty already warmth room and a huge TV where waiting for us and gave the chance to relax after a long driving. Luigi had buy us things for the breakfast that lasted the hole week (Jam, toast bread, honey, tea, caffe, etc) so we could, as soon as we arrive already eat something. He is a really charming man, who's intentions where only to serve. We had an amazing time, though I would say that the best of it was not even Venezia, but Luigi.
