Información sobre este anuncio
Unique attic room for two-three, and own bathroom, in seventeenth-century dwelling, on quiet lane right inside Norwich's medieval city walls. On-street parking available.
If you have others in your party, you can book our separately listed single room as well -
The characterful, richly decorated room is a converted attic space with a double futon (190 cms long), and the possibility of adding an extra mattress for one person for £10 extra. The attic is up a steep ladder and has a pitched roof of 180cms and a 17th century A beam - see photos! There is a bathroom immediately down the ladder for your exclusive use – unless there is a guest staying in our single room listing as well. The bathroom is a lovely period space - but everything functions in a 21st century way! Tea and coffee are available for you to make on the landing.

Atención a los huéspedes
We like to greet you with a drink on arrival - if possible - and are very happy to help throughout your stay with anything you need, but generally I will respect your privacy and take a low profile unless you want it otherwise. You will have your own front door key to let yourselves in and out. Breakfast will be laid out for you to help yourselves in the kitchen on the ground floor at a time to suit you. There are plenty of eateries for other meals from 100 yards of the front door - some very fine indeed.
We live right within the medieval city walls, three minutes walk from one of England's most beautiful cathedrals and a lovely river walk. We are ten minutes walk from Norwich's Norman castle which houses a splendid museum, and from the bustling central marketplace. Our part of Golden Dog Lane is a pedestrian alleyway with six dwellings on it. The Last Wine Bar, on nearby St George's St, is an award-winning restaurant. Cinema City is our local arts cinema, again only five minutes walk away, within a Jacobean mansion - and with another great restaurant. The famous Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts is a 15 minute bus ride away at UEA.
Our house is so central, everything is pretty easy to get to. The rail and bus stations are 20 minutes walk from us. We can lend you a bike or two should you need. We have a parking permit for the lane - in the unlikely happenstance of there being no space, you will need to pay for your car in the adjacent Colegate car park. Norwich International Airport is also a 20 minute bus ride away...

Norwich is a gorgeous medieval city with world-class visual art, music to suit every taste, easy access to the Broads and the sea, and a laid back, easy-going vibe. It is a safe place to wander, soak up the atmosphere, do some hassle-free shopping, or generally chill out. Our house is so central, all these are really easy to do.
Any self-respecting Air B n B-er knows how to behave - beautifully! But please be quiet on the shared staircase after hours, and please don't eat takeaways in the room.

We have lived in our house, where we brought up our two gorgeous daughters, for 25 years. I am an Art Historian; Howard manages a cottage hospital. We prefer the road less travelled: cycling round the reedbeds of Norfolk or tracing family history in Burma. We relax with classical music, good food, family, and friends. We both speak French and Nepali, but enjoy communicating with people with whom we share no common language. We think our city is just brilliant, and try to be mindful of the words of our local mystic, Julian of Norwich, that 'all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.'
