El alojamiento

Foxes Manor is a Grade II listed 16th century Cotswolds Manor House and the oldest house in the village, the main building dating back nearly four hundred years, and the 'new' wing being added about a hundred years later.

The house retains nearly all its original oak beams and floorboards, plus four substantial open fireplaces, two of which are available for guests to use.
With the inclusion of mullioned stone windows, oak paneling, and a priest hole you have one of the most intriguing and evocative Jacobean houses in the region.

Servicios y zonas comunes

We want the house to feel like a home away from home. As such you have free access to the entire property, to explore, play hide and seek or simply relax and unwind.

Atención a los huéspedes

Our friendly, local housekeepers are on hand to assist during your stay.

El barrio

The house stands in its own (pet friendly) tranquil stone-walled garden overlooked by a two hundred year old yew tree yet is less than a minute walk from the heart of the village, via it's own private gate. Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the 'Venice of the Cotswolds', boasts a wealth of attractions, including a famous model village, motor museum, perfumery and bird sanctuary, plus a host of pubs, restaurants and shops.

However, the undisputed jewel is the River Windrush, which flows through the centre of the village flanked by the village green, and crossed by no less than five stone bridges. The village is well served with a post office, two supermarkets, a library, and village pubs all within a few minutes walk of the house. Riding is available at a local stable at one end of the village, and there are extensive fishing lakes at the other.

Foxes Manor is a lovely old house that is full of character and in a fantastic location. The house is roomy and easily coped with the ten person party we had. The hot tub is great and provided several hours of entertainment and relaxation. The house is very well equipped in terms of TV, entertainment, games, BluRay, sound systems. The cooking facilities are good with many modern utilities. The beds were very comfortable and the towelling robes were great to facilitate use of the hot tub. Location wise the house is very well situated, no more than 200 yards from the centre. Bourton-on-the-water is a lovely place with lots of great walks, fantastic scenery and great shops and restaurants. We really loved the talk from Bourton to Lower Slaughter and then onto Upper Slaughter. We had coffee and cake in the mill in Lower Slaughter. There are some really incredibly beautiful spots along the walk and some of the best scenery you will find anywhere. We visited with a group of family and friends for a 60th birthday and everybody had a great time and loved the house and its character, which seemed to encourage people to relax and have a great time. Overall we would recommend Foxes Manor and would very much like to return in the future.

Amazing period property in a fantastic Cotswolds location. We enjoyed having dinner all together around the huge table and sitting by the cosy wood fires. The house has a pretty private garden and is right in the heart of the village so great for exploring. Jules was a thoughtful host and was always available to communicate via email and text as needed. A fab weekend!

Jules was great and easy to get hold off with all our question before our stay , and also all through out our stay which was amazing , especially as our trip was over the Xmas holidays . The house was even better then we thought , huge bedrooms and warm and it was very well dressed with holiday cheer . It was great as we had so many family staying with us and we all felt we had some where to go to enjoy some peace and quiet from the busy Xmas in the living room in the really cozy bedrooms . We highly recommend this place and would love to come , as it was right in a central location of the Cotswold in the pretty town of bourton on the water .

We stayed here as a party of 9 - 7 adults and 2 children. There was plenty of room and in a handy location for us - in the Cotswolds countryside but close to shops, walks etc. Jules was a great host, he was accommodating and quick with his communications. We all felt like we were in the movie "the holiday" - with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz - staying in a throughly historic English bolthole, with roaring fires in the beautiful countryside.

A group of 10 of us stayed to celebrate a family birthday and had the best weekend. Various plans were scraped in favour of lounging around the house. The lounge-room is the cosiest room I've ever been in, and perfect for lazy weekends for friends and family. Thoroughly recommended.
